What sets Anatomy of the Spirit apart is Carolyn Myss's ability to blend diverse religious and spiritual beliefs into a succinct discussion of health and human anatomy. For example, when describing the seven energy fields of the human body, she fuses Christian sacraments with Hindu chakras and the Kabbalah's Tree of Life. Fortunately, Myss is a skilled writer as well as researcher, able to ground her extensive spiritual and religious discussions by using real-life stories and a tight writing style. Those who are squeamish with the notion of biography affecting biology will find this book a struggle (in one chapter, Myss links pancreatic cancer with a man's refusal to unburden his life and start fulfilling his dreams). Many, however, hail Myss for creating a valuable contribution to the ongoing exploration of spirituality and health. --Gail Hudson
Amazon.com Audiobook Review
A former journalist turned medical intuitive, Caroline Myss soothingly fuses Hindu chakras, Christian sacraments, and the Judaic Tree of Life to form her seven stages of power in the human body. Reading her own work to an appreciative studio audience, her tone is often confessional as she builds her case by using stories from her own life of spiritual growth. The audience responds with mild laughter at her wry asides, as if at a New Age dinner party somewhere in the Colorado mountains--where this was taped--with an extra place set for you. (Running time: three hours, two cassettes) --Kimberly Heinrichs
Book Description
Anatomy of the Spirit is the boldest presentation to date of energy medicine by one of its premier practitioners, internationally acclaimed medical intuitive Caroline Myss, one of the "hottest new voices in the alternative health/spirituality scene" (Publishers Weekly). Based on fifteen years of research into energy medicine, Dr. Myss's work shows how every illness corresponds to a pattern of emotional and psychological stresses, beliefs, and attitudes that have influenced corresponding areas of the human body.
Anatomy of the Spirit also presents Dr. Myss's breakthrough model of the body's seven centers of spiritual and physical power, in which she synthesizes the ancient wisdom of three spiritual traditions-the Hindu chakras, the Christian sacraments, and the Kabbalah's Tree of Life-to demonstrate the seven stages through which everyone must pass in the search for higher consciousness and spiritual maturity. With this model, Dr. Myss shows how you can develop your own latent powers of intuition as you simultaneously cultivate your personal power and spiritual growth.
By teaching you to see your body and spirit in a new way,
Anatomy of the Spirit provides you with the tools for spiritual maturity and physical wholeness that will change your life.

A teaching tool........2007-09-08
I am a retired RN and a Reiki practioner, and I teach Meditation. I encourage my students to get Caroline Myss's book "Anatomy of the Spirit" to help them understand mind, body spiritual and emotional healing and how we are responsible for our own healing. It is a wonderful book as are all of her books. Having "Anatomy of the Spirit" on CD is great for listening in the car and for walks.
Just what the doctor ordered.......2007-07-22
I have read this book about three times over a period of about 10 years and it never fails to inspire me. The way the book is broken down is very clear and it is easy to understand most of what is being said. The best part of the book, I think, are the questions posed at the end of each of the chapters. Those are questions that can help guide you towards approaching your life in a more organized way. The only issues I have would be the almost excessive religious aspects to the book. For those spiritual, yet non-religious people out there, I would suggest just taking those comments lightly and applying them to your own perspectives on life. In addition, there were times when I wished that there were more detailed and practical pieces of advice. I often felt that the advice was a bit too general and therefore didn't give me some of the practical help that I needed. However, regardless of those reservations, I still believe that this book gave me a stepping stone in terms of how I would like to change my life and that's an important thing.
Informative.......2007-07-19
Very interesting, I will have to listen to it a few times to get all the information.
Awesome book, a MUST have!.......2007-07-10
Normally I get 99% of my books from Amazon, but I was at the book store with my husband and I was just drawn to this book. I have never heard of Caroline Myss, but now I am a HUGE fan. I just love this book! Thank you Caroline for writting such an inspirational, eye opening, touching book.
Absolute read for ANYONE/EVERYONE in search of their own spirtiuality!.......2007-07-02
This is one of the most profound books that I have ever read. My life has changed completely. I can not put into words how inpsiring and eye opening Caroline's writing is. You must read this! It is not only for people seeking spirituality. It is truly about real life and YOU as an individual. I have referred this reading to 4 of my closest friends and they all feel exactly the same way after have read it.
Book Description
A groundbreaking work of science that confirms, for the first time, the independent existence of the mind–and demonstrates the possibilities for human control over the workings of the brain.
Conventional science has long held the position that 'the mind' is merely an illusion, a side effect of electrochemical activity in the physical brain. Now in paperback, Dr Jeffrey Schwartz and Sharon Begley's groundbreaking work, The Mind and the Brain, argues exactly the opposite: that the mind has a life of its own.Dr Schwartz, a leading researcher in brain dysfunctions, and Wall Street Journal science columnist Sharon Begley demonstrate that the human mind is an independent entity that can shape and control the functioning of the physical brain. Their work has its basis in our emerging understanding of adult neuroplasticity–the brain's ability to be rewired not just in childhood, but throughout life, a trait only recently established by neuroscientists.
Through decades of work treating patients with obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), Schwartz made an extraordinary finding: while following the therapy he developed, his patients were effecting significant and lasting changes in their own neural pathways. It was a scientific first: by actively focusing their attention away from negative behaviors and toward more positive ones, Schwartz's patients were using their minds to reshape their brains–and discovering a thrilling new dimension to the concept of neuroplasticity.
The Mind and the Brain follows Schwartz as he investigates this newly discovered power, which he calls self–directed neuroplasticity or, more simply, mental force. It describes his work with noted physicist Henry Stapp and connects the concept of 'mental force' with the ancient practice of mindfulness in Buddhist tradition. And it points to potential new applications that could transform the treatment of almost every variety of neurological dysfunction, from dyslexia to stroke–and could lead to new strategies to help us harness our mental powers. Yet as wondrous as these implications are, perhaps even more important is the philosophical dimension of Schwartz's work. For the existence of mental force offers convincing scientific evidence of human free will, and thus of man's inherent capacity for moral choice.

The Mind and how it affects the Brain.......2007-09-09
Excellent reading portraying how the mind can affect the physical brain. This can be achieved through conscious efforts of volitional attention resulting in mental forces that alters the material brain utilizing the concepts of quantum physics. The author uses several documented examples of successful uses of techniques utilizing these concepts especially with patients suffering from obsessive compulsive behavior.
great psychology book.......2007-08-16
this book is great in terms of psychology- full background on studies that support the authors point of view, can read as repetitive, but then again, isn't repetition key for retention?
the book isn't as bad as the negative reviews have it, nor as miraculous as the positive reviews do. it's great for the psychology of learning and neuroplasticity...
however, as for it's metaphysical content, post introductory run-down of the various viewpoints of philosophy of the mind (materialism, epiphenomenolism, etc.) in the beginning, the rest of the book is mysteriously void of the corresponding qualia debates (although i suppose the author is an M.D., not a Phil. Ph.D.). but if he would like to claim that mind is something other than matter, it would be nice to touch on this (especially concerning causal efficacy of non-material mind). i'll agree with other reader/reviewers that invoking quantum mechanics has become somewhat fashionable, but those parts were interesting reading, even if it didn't seem clear how he meant to invoke immaterial mind into the equation.
at least it makes you think about all these issues- to the negative reviews, no one book should be your single source anyway- schwartz has a captivating theory, which (just like anyone else's) should be taken with a grain of salt, open to interpretation and evolution...
Where Neuroscience Came From.......2007-06-26
On the plus side, I loved reading about the experiments and gaining an understanding about what the results mean and how that works with neuroplasticity. I believe that the brain can be changed with "exercise" and that's what made me pick-up this book.
But I personally was hoodwinked by the whole "the mind is not of this world" thing. It seemed to me, an admitted novice, but not a complete dolt, that Dr. Schwartz should have been up-front with counter arguments. I think it was nearly 100 pages into the book before he mentioned that it could be that one part of the brain was changing another. We do have a "reptile brain" with a more modern brain added later...I could see where one part could teach the other part something! I wouldn't expect him to argue forcefully for the other camp, but I recognized (with some other readings) that the other position was distorted to improve his (rather weak) argument.
Something the other reviews didn't mention was that this was a bit of a biography for Schwartz. He tells us when, where, who, what they talked about. It's also a bit of a history lesson; sometimes I'd be excited about a topic, only to find out the experiment was in the 1800's (and there's no fMRI results).
I'm in the camp with some of the other reviewers that got tired of the repetition. If the repetition was eliminated, the folksy "I was with 'Mr. Cool' on this day" was eliminated, and especially the drumbeat of how the mind exists outside of reality, you'd have a much more readable and interesting book.
The physical brain can be "all there is" and still operate upon itself! Nothing in this book convinced me otherwise.
What I've Known All Along.......2007-05-31
As an educator with a PhD in Human Development, I have always known on an intuitive, if not learned level, that the human brain has the potential to be ever-changing and ever-developing, even into old age or following trauma, such as a stroke. Perhaps more importantly, Schwartz has reinforced my belief that the free will of individual human beings has the power to shape thoughts, which in turn create neuro-pathways, allowing us (compelling us?)to literally 'grow our brains' as we (can) choose to learn new skills, behaviors, and attitudes; our free will can further be utilized to replace maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors with those that can give us a better quality of life, such as with OCD, or depression. I particularly appreciated Schwartz's discussion of the morality of free will. Combined with the brain's neuro-plastic nature, free will creates the power to shape the choices we make via the thought patterns that we can choose over others. This, he proposes, is what gives humans their spirituality, separate from animals, and I am certain that he is correct; free will, along with will-power, to think moral thoughts and choose moral actions, are not emphasized enough in our mechanistic culture of passive recipients who have been taught and have bought the notion that, 'I am who I am, I can't change, I have to be true to myself' and so on..all well and good if one has a high, altruistic moral code, not so good if one does not. Finally, as an educator, I found Schwartz's insight into learning new behavior(s), sometimes requiring the unlearning of old behavior pattern(s), and then requring discrete steps and repetitive action, very applicable to today's classroom. The education of young children, especially with learning difficulties, who need this type of learnimg/training the most, has instead given way to the easy route, 'do fewer problems', 'if it's too hard, you don't have to do it'; 'don't worry, we'll pass you' are phrases reflective of how education has been watered down rather than changed to meet the needs of students who need more training, more practice, more skill development, if they are to create the neuro-pathway needed for academic skills to become second-nature.
The Mind and the Brain.......2007-04-10
Excellent book for those needing insight into Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Material presented in a clear fashion with substantial evidence.
Book Description
Mitochondria are tiny structures located inside our cells that carry out the essential task of producing energy for the cell. They are found in all complex living things, and in that sense, they are fundamental for driving complex life on the planet. But there is much more to them than that. Mitochondria have their own DNA, with their own small collection of genes, separate from those in the cell nucleus. It is thought that they were once bacteria living independent lives. Their enslavement within the larger cell was a turning point in the evolution of life, enabling the development of complex organisms and, closely related, the origin of two sexes. Unlike the DNA in the nucleus, mitochondrial DNA is passed down exclusively (or almost exclusively) via the female line. That's why it has been used by some researchers to trace human ancestry daughter-to-mother, to 'Mitochondrial Eve'. Mitochondria give us important information about our evolutionary history. And that's not all. Mitochondrial genes mutate much faster than those in the nucleus because of the free radicals produced in their energy-generating role. This high mutation rate lies behind our ageing and certain congenital diseases. The latest research suggests that mitochondria play a key role in degenerative diseases such as cancer, through their involvement in precipitating cell suicide. Mitochondria, then, are pivotal in power, sex, and suicide. In this fascinating and thought-provoking book, Nick Lane brings together the latest research findings in this exciting field to show how our growing understanding of mitochondria is shedding light on how complex life evolved, why sex arose (why don't we just bud?), and why we age and die. This understanding is of fundamental importance, both in understanding how we and all other complex life came to be, but also in order to be able to control our own illnesses, and delay our degeneration and death. 'An extraordinary account of groundbreaking modern science... The book abounds with interesting and important ideas.' Mark Ridley, Department of Zoology, University of Oxford
Customer Reviews:
everything a popular science book should be.......2007-09-30
While this book is not easy reading, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Nick Lane does not try to oversimplify the intricacies of the molecular biology
underlying the workings of a cell, but shows how the details are necessary to
understand how and why it all came to be. I am amazed at how he managed
to distil a vast quantity of mostly very recent scientific research into not only
a readable, but also a visionary book. The speculative parts of the book need
to be taken with a grain of salt. However, after reading this book my attention
is drawn to articles on mitochondria in Nature and Science, articles which I would
certainly have shirked before reading this book.
Ohh mitochondria, tell us the truth.......2007-09-17
What a book, absolutely fascinating and highly recommended, although I must say that this is not an easy book, in fact is kind of complex if you are not acquainted with the subject. This is not a critic, thing is I would not change a bit of it, but in my opinion, people should have a little knowledge of cellular metabolism and biochemistry before attempting this book.
After reading Dawkins book about the selfish gene, it was inevitable for me to wonder about life origins, why unicellular organisms have that tendency to complexity and to group itself, and how all this machinery works. This book provide a thorough and absorbing introduction of Mitochondria and its symbiosis with eukaryotes, what is the function of each one, why there are two sexes and why we aged and finally become history. As you will see, our understanding of these matters is rather modest, the author insinuate possible solutions to some of the big questions, but in any case the subject is so interesting that you read this book excited all the way to the end.
How beautiful is life and how complex ... you can see that just watching a little fly and wonder how on earth this insect manage to fly, as if eukaryotes have a previous knowledge of Physics, as if they have all the basic solutions of nature in a template. I just know one thing: I want to know and read more about it.
Simply the most fascinating book I have read in years.......2007-07-19
I cannot over recommend this book. It ranks alongside "The Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins as one of the seminal books for understanding life on earth. Interestingly, the title doesn't oversell the book at all - it really does contain fascinating information about power, sex and suicide (albeit cell suicide). If you have any interest in evolution or the origins of life - just get this book.
The ATP Powerhouses.......2007-07-16
The power of "mighty"chondria enthralled me to my very cells. Science, power, intrique...like a great mystery novel that takes place within the cell...
Note: reading this book in public elicits stares. The title jumps out, but not the subtitle.
It *is* a life-changing book!!!.......2007-05-14
Well, all right... Enthusiasm might trump my common sense a little, here. Not everyone will change their outlook on life after reading this highly interesting and eye-opening book, but it certainly convinced me of the central role that mitochondria likely played in the evolution of eukaryotic cells and of multicellular organisms. I had to change my opinion on the relative importance of getting a nucleus or getting mitochondria during our evolutionary journey; mitochondria, which up to now I had unfairly considered as rather boring ATP factories and mere actors in the process of apoptosis, now do indeed seem to be the architects of life as we know it.
Nick Lane does a great job at integrating the relevant scientific literature and weaving it into an all-audience book filled with exciting facts and clever hypotheses. Among popular science writers, he is certainly among the best; the same appears to be true as a theory-builder.
This is a must-read book for all biologists, and a "really, really should be read" book for anyone else.

Accomplishes its goal.......2000-01-06
I bought the first edition of this book when it was first published. Since then others have tried to duplicate.
The purpose is to be text on injury assessment. Most books on athletic training training had previously been all encopassing - trying to say everything. As info expanded, this book focussed just on what the title states. More realistic and geared for athletic trainers than other medical texts.
1st edition was a great review for those of us already inthe profession.
Athletic Training Student.......2000-01-03
Although this book was relatively thorough, it was very boring to read. I dreaded having to read the thing even though the subject matter was interesting to me. The few pictures in the book were old and were not helpful. This book is not good for any type of visual learner. If you are a professor looking for a good text for an injury assessment class, keep looking!

Amazon.com Audiobook Review
Borrowing chakra principles and healing teachings from previous works, Dr. Caroline Myss forms a daily living plan that focuses on making the most of personal energy. Myss questions, chides, and inspires her audience--both audiobook listeners and the production's live studio gathering--to let go of blame, victimhood, and group thinking and take responsibility for their own lives. When she makes rueful fun of her own pre-enlightened state, it's to let her listeners know that they are not alone. Myss backs up her theories with both anecdotal and historical examples, and bolsters the production with a quiet certainty. (Running time: 9 hours, 6 cassettes.) --Kimberly Heinrichs

Customer Reviews:
Energizing and Enlightening.......2007-05-31
If you are feeling open and you'd like to "wake-up" today - I HIGHLY recommend this audiobook. You can thank Caroline Myss for her insight into the non-material presence in this life and with shining wisdom, bringing it quickly to the material world. This is a wonderful spiritual and scientific lecture series, not to mention a very exciting journey to listen to (even if you never enact her beliefs into your life). It has helped me profoundly with balancing my energy and I did not have to be a mystic to get it. She is a very good teacher.
This audio book is easily listened to in 9 hours, while driving in rush hour traffic on your way to work, but be forewarned that Caroline Myss is not joking around when she embodies the teacher's archetype. What was once a mundane rush hour drive will turn into a vibrant interaction of the energy paradigm. She will teach you and if you are at all a skeptic like I was (esp. about Chakras and unseen mysteries), thinking that you've got the world materialistically figured out, and your reality beat, then you are in for a sharp and exciting surprise. You may find yourself sliding down the rabbit hole of "Who am I? and "Why am I doing this?" and "What is the purpose of my life?" and "Where am I, now?"
These types of awareness-based questions are implied throughout her tales and experiences with anatomy of our body's energy systems. Thankfully, with insight, clarity and precision, Dr. Myss explains exactly what we are made of and it is very reassuring to know that when we do start to ask these questions of a deeper nature, there are guides like Caroline Myss who are brave enough to teach the stuff.
At home therapy.......2007-01-31
If you think that you might benefit from "therapy", listen to this program. A large part of the effort of therapy is getting an individual to open to themselves, to see themselves as they really are, as a precursor to making changes in their life. Caroline Myss' recordings of "Energy Anatomy" and "Advanced Energy Anatomy" open the door to that introspection, giving you a framework in which to see your past life, and present actions. True, you may not agree with everything she says. But I guarantee you will find yourself nodding in agreement over and over again, at the insightful ways she presents the workings of human minds and emotions. And you will find Caroline Myss offering you answers to many of the questions you've asked yourself ("Why do I do this?" "Why did I do that?") over the years. I'm not recommending you forego therapy, if you really need it. Professional therapy can be very valuable. But I am saying that Caroline's recordings are a terrific way of getting in touch with yourself, and seeing yourself clearly (maybe for the first time), regardless of whether you want to pursue professional counseling, or not. And because (as Caroline says) the mind and emotions are prime determinants of the health of the body, this is an excellent series for anyone interested in taking good care of their body, and creating the best health possible for a vibrant and very happy life. "Energy Anatomy" offers a new way of looking at yourself, at others, and at the world around you, and this program may be the best thing you try this year.
Energy Anatomy.......2007-01-29
This is by far one of the best purchase I have ever made. Carolyn does an excellent job at explaning the 7 charkras. Truly amazing cd series. Highly recommended.
Energy Anatomy.......2007-01-12
Carolyn Myss is brilliant, entertaining, witty, sarcastic, irrational, and high-handed at any given time. She admits that she teaches rather than heals because she isn't good at one on one. But she is a gifted teacher. Listening to the CDs the third time I still gained more information and have since shared them with friends of like mind. If you're drawn to increasing your knowledge of the spiritual journey, this is a great set of CDs to listen to. She offers several interesting theorys, some believable, some not, but still entertaining.
Energy Anatomy.......2006-11-10
I was able to study with the CD in the car, from my IPod, and found these cd's of Caroline Myss to be so helpful.
Book Description
From every corner of this country and from countires around the world, reports of sexual abuse, exploitation, and ongoing sexual misconduct by Catholic priests have appeared in every major newspaper, magazine, and TV and Radio talk show. What was first denied by church officials finally turned into a deluge of overwhelming evidence played out in legal settlements and courtrooms.
Richard Sipe startled the world in 1990 with his controversial book, A Secret World: Sexuality and the Search for Celibacy, which presented evidence of sexual activity by almost 50% of the Roman Catholic priesthood.
In this book, Richard Sipe examines the continuing sexual crisis facing the Catholicm Church today. Has the storm of publicity and controvery caused the church to acknowledge any of the accusations? Will the church accept statistical evidence or alter the way in which it trains its clergy? How has it come to grips with reforming or retraining abusers? Has it acknowledged the spread of AIDS among its ranks? Why does the church oppress women and react with hostility and fear towards them? Sex, Priests, and Power: Anatomy of a Crisis addresses these and other questions.
The book substantiates its conclusions with many vivid and chilling stories of sexual abuse by clergy against children, women, and members of its own ranks...
* Father James Porter victimized 200 children between 1960-1972 while an active parish priest.
* A 52-year-old priest, under the guise of family friend and tutor, sexually abused two sisters for two years. They were ages six and eight at the start of the abuse.
* A priest who teaches high school seeks out a sophomore student for a homosexual liaison. After two years he ends the relationship in favor of a new sophomore love interest. The priest has honed this continuing pattern of sexual exploitation to perfection.
Not simply satisified with exposing the epic crisis, Richard Sipe analyzes the structure underlying the church's celibate/sexual system andpoiints out unsolved problems with the current teachings. He calls for an honest, open discussion of sexuality and celibacy within the church and offers a refined description of the practice.
Sex, Priests, and Power is an invitation to exorcise the demons that threaten to engulf a mighty institution. Richard Sipe argues convincingly for an honest examination of the power structure of the Catholic Church and a thorough search for the factors that diminish and distort religion.

Over My Head.......2006-03-26
This book contained some very interesting ideals. The philosophy in the book was way over my head. Much of it seemed redundant to me I'm sure because I didn't understand it. It certainly offerred insight into the priesthood from the local parish to Rome.
Interesting.......2003-05-30
It's not about sex. It's about power according to this author. He backs up his claim with historical evidence: the Church's mistreatment of women, and Jews, for example. Included are chilling quotes from the Malleus Malificarum used as a training book in seminaries for two centuries. The Malleus, used to train priests, sounds like the ravings of a madman, and it no doubt was...
A crucial study of problems afflcting Latin Rite Catholics.......1999-08-24
Sipe offers the first quantatative and qualatative look at the cancer on the American Latin Rite Catholic Church. He offers convincing evidence that 50% of the Latin Rite Priests and Bishops are sexually active, despite the Church's teaching that any and all sexual activity outside of marriage is mortally sinful. Anyone who has been affected by a sexually active priest or bishop needs to read this book to learn that they are not alone. Sipe's careful research is not an attack on celibacy: instead he reinforces the correct theological opinion that celibacy is a divine gift; not a command that must be followed at all times and in all circumstances. Unfortunately, the blurbs on the dust jacket of this book would lead one to conclude that this is a "Maria Monk" exposing lurid secret details of the priesthood for the prurient. Instead it is patient and kind to those seeking an understanding as to why a bishop would publicly defend his homoerotic liason with an embezzeling priest, as a "consensual arrangement between adults!" (Santa Rosa, 8/99) One would hope that either or both of his books would be mandatory reading for those enrolled in Latin Rite seminaries, as well as their mentors. This book deserves as much seminary attention as that presently given to penitentials. Sipe notes the failure of the Rite of Reconcilliation (Confession) for troubled priests and their victims. Perhaps this is because the Confessional as practiced today is inherently Manichean: it separates the sinful acts from the human creature's entire being. Many current 12th Step programs remedy this defect of ordinary practice, by requiring complete inventories, assets as well as liabilities. These programs also stress the necessity of being honest with oneself, and every anecdote related by Sipe can be condensed into the simple question: was the person able to be honest with themself? As Polonius, the worst hypocrite in Shakespeare, advised his son ["Do as I say, not as I've done!}: "To Thine Own Self Be True, and You Canst Not Be False to Any One." The successful celebates, who are true saints, are the ones that have chosen celibacy and integrated it into their whole being. Like rare perfect blue white diamonds, the true celebates remind us that human perfection is possible. But we must also remember that there is no sin in being less than perfect. Sin is turning away from God, and making self-deceit worthy of worship. True stupidity is deliberate ignorance, and Sipe's book counsels that the "Truth will make us free."

Customer Reviews:
It is truly an inspirational book, and I highly recomend it........1999-11-02
The Power of Your Plate is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read concerning the detrimental effects on the body due to improper food choices. Dr. Neal D. Barnard, presedent of the physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, along with 20 health experts guide the reader through a journey geared towards better health by illuminating all sources of animal products from the plate. They help one realize how eating wisely is truly a gold mine attainable to us all. The relationship of diet and disease is viewed from different parts of the world to explain why Americans have such a high rate of cardio vascular disease, strokes, high blood pressure, cancer and more. Anyone who would like to live a full healthy life and avoid ailments that are common in America needs to read this book. It does not tell you to eat less. It explains how to eat right for the rest of your life. Unlike most diets, this is more of a plan, and following it will help insure you do not become a stastistic like most Americans eventially do. I have written a 15 page critique on this book. If you are interested, I will email you a copy.
