Book Description

What would you do if you were sitting quietly in your living room when a mysterious couple appeared from out of nowhere - and then told you they were "ascended masters" who had come to reveal some shocking secrets of existence and teach you the miraculous powers of advanced forgiveness? Would you call the cops? Call a psychiatrist? Call out for pizza?

When two such teachers appeared before Gary Renard in 1992, he chose to listen to them (and ask a lot of impertinent questions). The result is this startling book: an extraordinary record of 17 mind-bending conversations that took place over nearly a decade, reorienting the author's life and giving the world an uncompromising introduction to a spiritual teaching destined to change human history.

5 out of 5 stars This book has the power to change the world!.......2007-10-03

I am recommending this book whenever and wherever I have the chance to. I suffered all my life from a traumatic and tragic childhood until I read this book and began practicing true forgiveness. Mr.Renard's teachings showed me a new way to view this world and a new way to forgive. My life is forever changed. If I can heal from sexual assault, deaths, and a lifetime of suicidal depression than so can others. This book has the power to change the world, one life at a time.

5 out of 5 stars Everyone must read this book!.......2007-10-01

This is a life changing book. A must read by everyone. I loved it.

5 out of 5 stars Interested in A Course in Miracles?.......2007-10-01

Disappearance of the Universe has captured the interest not only of those that are new or unfamiliar with A Course in Miracles, but also by the vast majority of us that have been studying the Course for years.

The principles of the Course are presented in an easy-to-understand format, his premise involving conversations with Arten & Pursah, two ascended masters who appeared to him in his living room. Whether or not the reader believes in the appearance of these two is secondary, in my opinion, to the spiritual truths revealed in his book.

Disappearance of the Universe is not only introducing thousands to A Course in Miracles, it is also re energizing many long-time students of the Course with a fresh perspective and newfound zeal with which to continue their studies. Though a later book has been written and published by the author, if you're curious about or interested in knowing more about A Course in Miracles, this is the book to read.

Thanks for the great book, Gary!

5 out of 5 stars a fascinating, reviting read!.......2007-09-30

I loved this book. It was very exciting. What an awesome experience (some would find it terrifing) to be visited by 2 spirits in physical form. I had been struggling to read A Course In Miracles and this book made that book more understandable, more relevant. I recommend everyone read this book before ACIM. The wisdom that is shared with us through his visitors is priceless. It was awesome to watching Gary change and grow over the course of their visits... With their insight and his determination to implement the studies of ACIM. It made me realize how important our lives are...and gave me a real sense of "what it is all about". His book also helped me to be prepared and even delight in the changes that ACIM brings to you. Thanks Gary! I am looking forward to reading more of your books!

5 out of 5 stars Didn't want it to end...........2007-09-25

From the first paragraph to the end of 400+ pages, I was spellbound. Then I picked up a book ("The Dynamic Laws of Healing") I had just received from Amazon and started reading about disease being caused by lack of forgiveness. That was quite a coincidence, being the operative word in "The Disappearance of the Universe" and also being by Catherine Ponder of Unity Religion. These two thought systems overlap, even though different, as described in Renard's book. "The Dynamic Laws of Healing" is a gentle massage compared to the kick in the seat of the ACIM book. Both are priceless in my mind.

I was a flunkee of ACIM, along with many others in a large study group, and "Universe" has been a stimulator to the point that I want to know everything now, and am venturing into Renard's other books, along with those of Ken Wapnick. To calm you down after reading this nonfiction thriller, I certainly do recommend Catherine Ponder's books also. The two opposites tie together in a fascinating manner.

Book Description

The Bestselling Classic on Love, Loss, and Letting Go

In Necessary Losses, Judith Viorst turns her considerable talents to a serious and far-reaching subject: how we grow and change through the losses that are an inevitable and necessary part of life. She argues persuasively that through the loss of our mothers' protection, the loss of the impossible expectations we bring to relationships, the loss of our younger selves, and the loss of our loved ones through separation and death, we gain deeper perspective, true maturity, and fuller wisdom about life. She has written a book that is both life affirming and life changing.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Good for everyone.......2007-05-15

Sometimes we wonder why life is so damn tough and sad and tragic. Well, this book doesn't help to answer those questions or to make it seem any better, but it does normalize all of those feelings, and it does explore all of the normal and necessary losses people experience in their lives. My therapist recommended it to me when my not-good-for-me boyfriend broke up with me and in turn, facilitated some of my personal growth and taught me to deal with some really hard feelings. I learned that losing him was necessary to my own well-being. This book is great for everyone.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!.......2007-05-12

The title caught my attention and I am so glad I bought it. Its one of the easiest books to read about moving on from losses and helps the reader understand that these losses are indeed, necessary. I have been a therapist for 15 years and have not come across such an engaging and practical book as this one. I myself am a slow reader but got through it in record time. Just do yourself and your loved ones a favor by reading this book!

5 out of 5 stars Necessary losses.......2007-03-20

Great book, but you need to take a break now & then..its heavy going and CAN bring up your "stuff" my therapist recommended it...but even she admits that you need to read it slowly..and maybe a few times. It makes a lotta sense.

5 out of 5 stars Deal With Losses.......2007-02-07

I first bought this book over 20 years ago when I got divorced, and it helped me deal with that event as a loss. Frankly, I hadn't even realized that it even was a loss until I read Viorst's wonderful book. I was able also to reach back and deal with the death of my parents, the losses inherent in growing into middle age, and other things . . . even losing my first girl friend.

Since then I have given this book to numerous friends who have had to deal with losses. I hope that they put the book back into full print as it should be required reading for just about everyone.

5 out of 5 stars Necessary Losses.......2007-01-10

First of all, I am a child and adult psychoanalyst and as it happens Mrs. Viorst (a free-lance writer of, among other things, childrens books) was invited by the institute who trained me in Child Psychoanalysis to be a "lay" student-- meaning not medically professional-to participate in the training which was one of the best at that time in child developmental psychoanalytic theory and practice. It was a committment by this author which spanned several years and a very extensive and intensive experience. this book was a distillation of many elements of that program as seen by this very "clear" competent writer. I have given this book to many people and bought this one to replace one of my daughter's copies. It is an indepth look at psychological developement and especially the mother-child relationship (or Object relationships) and was on the New York Times best seller list for many months. It is still very relevent and well-worth the current new and used price.

Book Description

Even as healthcare technology makes great strides, studies show that the attitude of a person suffering from chronic illness may hold the most sway over the healing process. This book shows that the first step in adopting a positive attitude toward health lies in dismissing harmful myths. "I must forgive before I can heal." "I am sick because God is punishing me." "If it doesn't feel good, it must be an effective medicine." These are outdated concepts that can slow healing -- or make an illness worse. Donald Epstein divides these myths into four categories: social, biomedical, religious/spiritual, and New Age. He discusses each myth individually -- from "healing is expensive" to "every condition can be traced to a demonstrable physical cause" -- and offers replacement myths, or "Healing Magic," to be both meditated upon and declared out loud by the reader in order to create an opportunity for healing.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Chiropractor cracks the New Age Blame Game.......2005-05-11

Alternative medicine hits the mainstream as more people integrate and use complementary methods to restore and replenish well-being. The challenge arises when someone uses the new age blame game to force some kind of healing. A common example is when a person diagnosed with cancer is told by some holistic practitioner that they caused it. Maybe yes, maybe no, and this book provides some grounded advice on the matter. Quacks abound in the realm of metaphysical healing and Dr. Epstein offers wisdom to tell genuine assistance from downright silliness. We are repsonsible only for our own behavior and not anyone else. If you are into the whole mind-body scene on well-being this is a great guide to separating myth from fact and staying grounded by keeping yout intellect in place. Many people throw their intellect out the door when entering an intutive phase ... and this is a costly mistake. Dr. Epstein gives a blend of intellect and intuition as he cracks the common myths around healing.

5 out of 5 stars Provoking, Challenging, Yet Easy To Read!.......2002-02-10

I highly recommend Donald Epstein's most readable book, Healing Myths, Healing Magic.

Pick any chapter that appeals to you, read it, and it stands on its own.

Like most anything Donald does, it is absolutely profound and thought provoking; so for me reading a chapter or two and then digesting the information for awhile works best.

Inevitably, in this book, Donald will label a myth something that you have held as fact, and this is where you will need some time to digest, but don't discount what he is saying too readily: Having attended Donald's seminars for years, I can tell you that sometimes it takes me two years to really understand something he has told me.

Donald Epstein created the most profoundly elegant and amazing healing system on the planet, Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) about 20 years ago. I have been learning how to practice NSA for the last five years.

Every practitioner, whether MD, DC, DO, PhD, LMT, or any person interested in healing needs to read this book. I have a whole library of books related to healing, and this book is the star of the collection, you need this book.

God Bless,

Hans Conser

5 out of 5 stars What an eye opener!.......2000-04-21

This is a book that will be useful to both health practitionners as well as patients. The book challenges us to look at our body, mind and spirit in a new way.I discovered that what I was thought in school and what I had learned in life through countless hours of studying and post doctoral work can be repositionned in a new way. This book is a shift of paradigm on many levels.

5 out of 5 stars Important reading for students of alternative medicine........2000-04-06

In Healing Myths, Healing Magic, Donald Epstein examines the deeply ingrained stories and myths we commonly hold about how our bodies heal. Some these myths may actually inhibit healing. These myths have a powerful, magically suggestive effect on the way we interpret our symptoms, the way we heal, and the quality of life we experience. Epstein argues that our capacity to heal is more often affected by society's collective myths than by our personal circumstances, symptoms, or disease. Our myths can create the magic of healing in our lives, or they can stop the magic completely. Healing Myths, Healing Magic is a seminal, breakthrough treatise that divided healing myths into four categories: Social, Biomedical, Religious, and New Age. He then exposes each myth individually and suggests an alternative statement or "Healing Magic" to help the reader reclaim his or her own body's natural ability to heal. Healing Myths, Healing Magic is important, highly recommended reading for students of alternative medicine, traditional medicine, and mind/body metaphysics.

5 out of 5 stars An important, fascinating, informative, analytic survey........2000-03-03

Myths and stories surround the healing process - myths which can inhibit healing. From circumstances where healing is difficult or impossible to choices not followed, Healing Myths Healing Magic examines healing myths and exposes and religious, social and medical frameworks for their origins. An important survey.

    5 out of 5 stars Seeds blooms.........2007-09-24

I bought this book for a precious friend, to give them some clarity and direction in the midst of a chaotic and lost time in their life. They said it has been a Godsend, and has encouraged them to really see the big picture. They have been inspired to fulfill their dreams and to further puruse their goals and to truly live life, unclouded. It has been a wonderful aid for personal healing for them as well. And lastly, but certainly not least, a good wake up call, in putting things to you that you NEED you hear, and very plainly. Simply puts it the way that IT IS.

Hence, I am giving this book *****5 Stars.

    1 out of 5 stars I don't reccomend it........2006-03-07

I thought it would be a great book becouse of the reviews, but my opinion after reading it, is that it isn't.

I got very distressed while reading it and I didn't even finish it, I stopped about halfway.

Chuck's writing style can be compared to fanatically religious people, it's pushing and distressing.

There are some good advices and seeds, but also some very stupid.

Far better same kind of book, what I would want to reccomend is Mike Dooley's 'Notes from the Universe', it's impact on reader is positive and uplifting, not distracting and negative.

Seeds of the Soul truly made me distressed. I felt like I wasted my 21$.

This is pretty harsh text, but that's honestly how I felt about this book.

Listen yourself carefully, before you decide to buy any book, don't just rush and buy them. I learned my lesson and I will consider more carefully in the future what to buy and what not.

Love and Laugh to everybody's life.

5 out of 5 stars Nothing but the Truth.......2004-02-24

There are many Truths in this book. Some statements really shook me and reminded me that it's always perfect...with or without my preferences. Some sentences in the book seemed a little too basic and not needed. Overall though a fun, light book to read

5 out of 5 stars Make Room for Seeds.......2003-09-23

My bookshelf is small. It currently houses about 30 books. All of them have been carefully culled from a long list of reading material that I have had the pleasure (and often displeasure) of reading over the years. And it seems like once a year, at best, a book will come into my possession that speaks to me strongly enough to make room in my permanent collection.

"Seeds for the Soul", by Chuck Hillig, is one of these books. "Seeds" is filled with short, insightful passages that remind us who and what we truly are. Chuck Hillig did not assemble a 'feel good' spiritual pick-me-up of a book with "Seeds". Instead, he takes you by the hand, and leads you to a place where you can look reality square in the face. It's not a story you read, it's more like a good friend cutting through the confusion to simply share Truth. It's like the Bhagavad-Gita on Ritalin.

This book gives me the urge to clear off my bookshelf completely and leave room only for it. No, on second thought, this is not a book that will end up on my bookshelf. It's one that I will keep handy at all times.

5 out of 5 stars Another classic from Chuck Hillig.......2003-07-03

Chuck Hillig, author of the classic Enlightenment for Beginners, has created another elegant and enjoyable tome, destined for the spiritual bestseller list. The book contains observations and speculations that will quietly reverberate in the very depths of your consciousness. Whether they act as gentle reminders or loud alarm clocks, the musings contained on each page will lovingly direct you to the only person who holds your truth: You.

I can't think of a better book to pack for a long, lazy day at the beach or an afternoon at the park. Read a few pages, then lie back and soak up the sun and let the seeds grow.

5 out of 5 stars A Superb Guide to Practical Spirituality.......2007-05-11

I have read three other books by Frances Vaughan, but I might have missed this extremely interesting study if it hadn't been for Ken Wilber's laudatory forward.

For more than three decades Dr. Vaughan has been at the forefront of efforts to integrate psychology and spiritual growth. Not only is she a practicing psychologist, but also she has been trained in several contemplative traditions: Christian, Sufi, Zen and at least one Hindu school.

I would like to quote from Ken Wilber's forward, "In the West, where psychology (and psychiatry) have completely replaced religion as the dominant sciences of the soul, it is the school of transpersonal psychology that carries most clearly the banner of genuine contemplative spirituality."

Frances Vaughan's view - and I am sure that she is correct - is that most of psychology and academia, particularly in the United States, has ignored, or become insensible to most people's need for a rich and healthy spiritual life. Many believe that the ever-increasing rates of substance abuse and extreme behaviors are a reflection of that unquenched spiritual thirst. As she says, "We live in two worlds: the outer world of ego and the inner world of soul. Many people suffer from being out of touch with the inner world of soul. Others suffer because they have tried to explore the world of soul without having come to terms with the world of ego. Freedom depends on acknowledging both worlds, harmonizing them and bringing them into balance."

The book breaks new ground, providing us with accounts of spiritual awakenings that she has seen in her practice, placed in the context of the many spiritual traditions that she has studied. Dr. Vaughan dispels the myth that spirituality is something that can only be experienced by a select few who have the time and the means to withdraw from the world.

Many authors tell us only about the pleasures and promises of the spiritual journey, without also warning us about some of the pitfalls. This book does both, and is an outstanding book for anyone interested in consciousness, spirituality and the future health of humanity.

    Highly recommended.

This is a great book by a person who understands psychology and spiritual paths. It is very readable, and puts interpretation on the reader. If you buy only one spiritual growth book this year, this is the book to buy.

Riding on the coat tails of the Inward Arc, this book takes shadow work to another level. Ms. Vaughan is by far the best in the field of transpersonal psychology. This is a must have book for ALL transpersonal psychologist and transpersonal psychology classes.

5 out of 5 stars Belongs Right Next to "The Road Less Travelled".......2000-02-21

At least once a month a psychotherapy client or a student in a clinical psychology graduate program asks me what to read for a psychologically sophisticated approach to spirituality. Without hesitation I always tell them about Frances Vaughan's "Shadows of the Sacred," a work of such wisdom, warmth, and practicality that, after they read it, they'll probably want to see her for therapy. Vaughan's knowledge of both depth psychology and spiritual traditions is breathtaking. There's no wholly-headed New Age thinking here. This work belongs right next to Scott Peck's "The Road Less Travelled." It will be meaningful to men and women in all walks of life who are searching for the greater life they sense is possible.

5 out of 5 stars A guidebook that points out the potholes in the road !!.......1999-08-12

I think that religion is an attempt to explain why the world is the way it is in an oversimplified fashion, inherent with limitations. For a critical thinker, this oversimplified version is simply not satisfactory, so we search for universal truths to satisfy our need for greater understanding, but unfortunately there are many pitfalls possible on that search, and this book does a great job of pointing many of them out............a must read for anyone on such a path.....for me it was a great book to read after book I Conversations with God...by Walsch.......

I have to admit that I didn't set out to answer the big questions. I found "Choices and Illusions" while trying to connect with Eldon for another great book through our http://BestSellerAuthors.com program.

However, I've learned not to question the path that brings me to new learning. In our busy lives, we all leave many path unexplored.. what a joy it is to find new truths, ponder the important questions and discover new realms.

I found "Choices and Illusions" and got the answers I didn't even know I was looking for. So regardless of what brought you to this point, consider the vistas that will open up from one small click today.

    Thanks Eldon.

5 out of 5 stars Practical. It is more than a psychological study or talk........2007-09-15

The part I found interesting is when he shares the real-life situations than a mere psychological study that most of us already know or heard enough. This book is entertaining as well as intuitive. A lot of times we think we don't have a choice in certain situations, why? Our life is more than what we are able to see. Read the book and see what you get from it.

5 out of 5 stars Powerful and Practical.......2007-09-15

This is a practical and very powerful book for anyone looking for immediate solution to overcome the "negative beliefs". Such beliefs are so often being ignored and as a result keeping one forever trapped in vicious cycle of negative self-fulfiling prophecy. It is a joy reading this book, as it led me to have a much clearer understanding of the "unconscious adverse conditioning" because of human ignorance, aggravated by the mass media which thrive on negative news reporting. This book opens up a new frontier of possibility for anyone willing to change, through seletive conscious learning, as well as subliminal method which when apply properly is most beneficial in achieving positive results and self empowerment. My family and I learn to become more selective in conducting our daily activities with regards to entertainment and media exposure. I also like the humane aspect, which is so much lacking in our present day society and this book would no doubt help in the re-awakening of the general public towards such direction. Most important of all, this book not only helps one to identify the inherent issues, but to provide effortless and effective solution. Our family and friends are now benefiting from the use of the InnerTalk technologies created by the author in improving the quality of our lives. This is a must read book for anyone who is seriously looking for change.

5 out of 5 stars Eldon shows you how to live a life that is self-actualized!.......2007-09-06

It is my recommendation that you must read "Choices and Illusions!" Eldon Taylor has created a total mind makeover. Eldon uncovers why we betray our highest best in favor of immediate satisfaction (the satisfaction that never leaves us feeling truly satisfied).

Not all books are for everyone, but this one likely is. Reviewing the many compromises we have all made while seeking to be our best self.

Choices and Illusions goes deep into our highest human potential; how and when it was betrayed; why and how we disguise it from ourselves, and gratefully the book gets into how we can change all of this and experience true personal empowerment today.

If you are interested in finding out how to be truly genuine, feel natural and leave counterfeit self images and representations in the dust in order to live a life of meaning this book is for you. It's brings value and meaning to our personal lives. I love the simple easy to apply methods that empower the reader to experience that "warm fuzzy feeling" that comes from living a life that is self-actualized.

    5 out of 5 stars Enlightening Read.......2007-09-01

I purchased two copies of Dr. Taylor's newest book, Choices and Illusions. One to read, and one to share with my grown children. I have read Eldon's previous works, and I knew that as soon as I started to read it, my kids' would want to borrow it! I just read the other reviews, and I want to add my perspective on them. I can understand how someone might interpret Eldon's book as an "advertisement" for his CD programs, since he refers to them as he writes. But to someone who read his work on subliminals, early on before anyone even HEARD of subliminals, I wanted to clear up the misconceptions that some are experiencing....Dr. Taylor is not advertising his other work....he is referring to it because he has LIVED the last many decades of his life, totally researching the mind and the subconscious. If you meet a doctor on the street and talk to him, he/she will refer to medical issues, since that is what they do. If you meet an artist, such as myself, I might describe my accomplishments in ways that might appear self-serving, but I would merely be explaining how I am who I am today based on my life as an artist. That is what Eldon is doing in this newest book. He is teaching....in his wonderfully casual, and yet sometimes very technical way....and he is sharing...all that he has discovered with his passion to unlock the secrets of the mind and the subconscious. He only refers to that which he has created.....much as an artist would suggest that you look at their creations to see who they are. I have read every book that Dr. Wayne Dyer has written....an awesome author. And the series by James Redfield. Also, a wonderful author. My grown children have learned from these authors, many lessons that I have shared with them as I quoted them from my memory, after reading and learning from them. I hope that anyone reading this review, will realize that Dr. Taylor has a wealth of information to share with the world....that his research into subliminal communication....that his desire to write this book was fueled by his true desire to help those around him, and to help us all understand that we are not here alone. That no matter what we learned from any religion, any teacher, any parent in our lives, that we are here for a purpose that is integrally connected to the source, the one that created all of us. That this life is not random....for if it were, why would we all be seeking knowledge beyond the tried and true? And if you are questioning, or doubting, or wondering where do you fit in this plan.....then you should buy this book and read it....slowly....digest the words and read and re-read it. For they are powerful words and they will change your life.

    Book Description

The idea that economic growth is necessary is deeply rooted in western culture and forms the basis of the economic strategies for developed and developing nations around the globe. A finalist in the GPA Book Award when first released in 1993, this fully updated and revised edition demonstrates why economic growth is a prescription for disaster and suggests how to redirect our capitalist system toward more positive ends. - Engaging, well-researched, and widely recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Compulsory reading for every citizen of the developed world.......2001-05-18

Would like to express that this book should not only be compulsory reading for every government leader but for every citizen in the developed world, particularly the United States. Excellent book and very well supported by data. A thriller with no foreseeable end!

    5 out of 5 stars Growth - A false God.......2000-02-18

This marvellous book should be compulsory reading for every government leader and every economics student, since we seem to have already exceeded the guidelines established in Kyoto for global warming . The phrase "grow or die" will take some time to fade. Douthwaite's book could help to achieve this paradigm shift.

5 out of 5 stars The Growth Delusion Exposed.......1999-12-22

Richard Douthwaite has written an important book. In this updated version of his 1992 classic of the same name, he brings the evidence he has amassed of growth's downside up to the present. If anyone reading the book does not come to question the unexamined assumption most of us hold that growth is a good thing, then he is indeed delusional. Though other growth heretics, such as Herman Daly, have made many of the same arguments as Douthwaite, I know of no book which covers so many of growth's unfortunate side effects or documents them so well, from the inadequacy of GNP as a measure of well-being through the decline in public health in recent decades to the slap in the face of our growth-oriented society administered by the refugees from Tristan da Cunha. Douthwaite uses the history of Britain over the last 200 years to document growth's ambivalent contribution to human betterment, finding it as instructive a guide as Marx found it to be for analyzing capitalism 150 years earlier. Included in the book are chapters on the consequences of growth in his native Ireland and in contemporary Holland and India, chapters enlivened by his direct personal involvement in these countries. It is regrettable that more of his insights do not come from the American experience, both because of the United States' remarkable history of growth and because of its premiere position in the world today as the foremost proponent and most dogmatic practitioner of the growth doctrine. Apparently, this is not where Douthwaite's life experience led him to direct his attentions. Hopefully, in a future book he will.

5 out of 5 stars A Practical Guide to Wisdom and Joyous Life.......2004-09-05

What a treat reading this book has been! It is wise, thoughtful, and sharing of the author's personal experience. I've read many, many books in my own personal journey -- Sarah Eames' book is one that I will treasure, reread, and, most importantly actually use on a continuing basis. One reads, say, a book such as Conversations With God, by Neale Donald Walsch, and one may say "Aha! That is what makes sense to me! I resonate to that!" But, one does not, I suspect, go back and REread Walsch's work -- one moves on. The Eames book, however, is designed to stay with a person, to be a companion, so to speak. That is one of its major values, in my opinion. Eames' "Perceptions" -- each a single page, and defined (as a whole) by the author as "a montage, or kaleidoscope of perspectives that can guide you through the gamut of human concerns" -- take up the majority of its pages. They are, as she has designed them, thoughts that can serve as a daily reminder, and also, if one wishes, as a source book to turn to in times of stress. I read them all the way through at first, noting that each did indeed draw out certain thoughts, recollections, and awarenesses that were personal to me. I want now to go back, as seems warranted, and reapproach each on a more focused basis. Almost all -- perhaps, indeed, ALL, if I really stopped to focus -- restate in some way thoughts that I have had or have had presented to me at one time or another in my personal search. The value is not just in the thoughts themselves, since I do believe that we are born with all the knowledge and wisdom of the creation inherent in our makeup, but need in our individual lives only to "recover" or "remember" it, as part of our journey. Rather, the value, is in her presentation of those thoughts -- the form AND the substance -- in a simple way, not overwhelming but capable of being divided up into as small portions as one can or wants to handle at any given time, usually with both personal example of their place in her own life, and prompting as to what one might, as a practical matter, do with any particular thought. Her book can and, I suspect, will serve as an aid to that process of "recovery and remembrance" for many people. It is inherent in our copyright law that ideas alone cannot be protected -- they are "out there" and, on close examination, rarely if ever "new"; only the particular form of expression of those ideas is protectable, because that form is, given the uniqueness of each of us, always original. The uniqueness of what Sarah Eames offers a reader is the book's real value. It is, indeed, a practical guide to wisdom and joyous life.
