Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Science of positive reinforcement.......2007-08-01

Aubrey Daniels offers an insightful look at the behavioral school of management, and its key tools: positive, and negative reinforcement. The book covers how to link rewards to behaviors you want to reinforce, when to deliver them, and how to design systems to support them. While not without its flaws, the book is well written and offers plenty of practical advice - if you're an aspiring manager, or a seasoned veteran, 'Bringing Out the Best in People' is a solid investment of your time.

5 out of 5 stars Clarity, results, contribution.......2007-07-04

This is an essential text for anyone who manages people. Daniels is clearly 'for' creating a workplace that taps the innate desire to contribute and against one run by fear. I've seen nearly 35 years of organizational life, as employee, manager and consultant. That's a lot of fads, slogans and philosophies. This book is the real deal.

When people are managed using these clear, rigorous, objective principles, stress and interpersonal barriers decrease, work exceeds expectations. I also recommend Dr. Marshall Rosenberg's "Nonviolent Communication".

1 out of 5 stars Based on a flawed worldview.......2007-04-02

I started reading the book as a part of my personal development with the company that I work for. The book is founded in behaviorism, and does not stray from the concepts associated with this worldview. My issue with it is that I believe that people are more than a reaction to the things that happen to us. We have unique personalities, and they consist of more than the conditioning that they are subjected to. This psychology takes away the idea of free-will and choice, and eliminates personal responsibility. When it comes to managing people, I believe that these are important elements to tap into. This behaviorist approach to management may look good on the surface, and make logical sense, but is flawed by its nature, and cannot have any long lasting impact.

5 out of 5 stars Good book but not as good as her other book.......2006-03-02

This book is a fine book if you are looking for the typical book written for lazy minds. The material is good, the presentation is great. However, there is a lack of references and detail that someone really interested in the material will desire. If you like pop-culture books get this one. If you want a terrific book that appeals to your brain then get the authors other book, "Performance Management." It is exceptional.

5 out of 5 stars Must Have Book for all Managers, Parents & Pet Owners.......2006-01-14

I have used Bringing Out the Best in People throughout Latin America and here in the States for several years. When I have control of a client project, this book is required reading. I get groans at first from supervisors and managers, but it is amazing what happens after they read it. They come back and immediately start talking about NICs, PICs, etc. It is fun but keeps me on my toes from that point forward as they watch my every move!

Although Daniels talks of motivating and brining out top performance from individuals within organizations, the concepts definitely applies and should be used in personal/family relationships as well. The concepts even hold true as I train my dog and two macaws as uncertain/certain, future consequences do not work for them! The beauty is that this book makes you stop and think.

Good book, easy to read with plenty to learn for the beginner to the more advanced handler. This will be a book that I will read again, there is so much to get out of it that I expect to continue to pick up more each time I read it.

If you're interested in breeding quality dogs, you need this book!! This is a fantasic resource which includes everything from making unbiased decisions regarding your own litter right up to the Best In Show ring. Pat writes with an easy to read and often humerous style. I was surprised at how much I learnt from this book. I lent it to friends who all got a lot out of it. It's packed with " Tricks of the trade" (things that no one will ever tell you) and so much more. Again if you plan on breeding or even buying a show dog- read this first!!

5 out of 5 stars Great for all dog people!.......2007-04-23

i love this book. it is easy to read and has so much information. i have already read it twice in less than 3 weeks! i learn something new everytime i pick it up. it is not a long book describing how a dog show works; this book teaches you about the dog you are showing in the ring. lots of little bits of tips throughout the book as well. i highly recommend this book to breeders or exhibitors working with dogs. you will not be sorry for purchasing!

5 out of 5 stars Great Book!.......2007-03-13

I have bought just about every "How-to" show dog book out there, and this would be the only one that I would recommend. It is by far the best book of its kind on the market. I agree with the previous reviewer as well--it's not just for show people. There is a great deal of information that is valuable for any dog owner. All of my other books went straight to the bookshelf and stayed there. This one is sitting on my kitchen counter, and I have gone back to it time after time.

5 out of 5 stars Packed Full of Information and Wisdom.......2007-02-07

All dog owners should read this book, it's not just for show dog folks! Great solutions, suggestions, and explanations for common issues. The combined years of experience from the authors provide the reader direct access to today's experts. Easy to read and very informative.

Book Description

A man who had won the Nobel Peace Prize, who was widely counted one of the greatest UN Secretary Generals, was nearly hounded from office by scandal. Indeed, both Annan and the institution he incarnates were so deeply shaken after the Bush Administration went to war in Iraq in the face of opposition from the Security Council that critics, and even some friends, began asking whether this sixty-year-old experiment in global policing has outlived its usefulness. Do its failures arise from its own structure and culture, or from a clash with an American administration determined to go its own way in defiance of world opinion?
James Traub, a New York Times Magazine contributor who has spent years writing about the UN and about foreign affairs, delves into these questions as no one else has done before. Traub enjoyed unprecedented access to Annan and his top aides throughout much of this traumatic period. He describes the despair over the Oil-for-Food scandal, the deep divide between those who wished to accommodate American critics and those who wished to confront them, the failed attempt to goad the Security Council to act decisively against state-sponsored ethnic cleansing in Sudan. And he recounts Annan’s effort to respond to criticism with sweeping reform—an effort which ultimately shattered on the resistance of U.S. Ambassador John Bolton.
In The Best Intentions, Traub recounts the dramatically entwined history of Kofi Annan and the UN from 1992 to the present. In Annan he sees a conscientious idealist given too little credit for advancing causes like humanitarian intervention and an honest broker crushed between American conservatives and Third World opponents—but also a UN careerist who has absorbed that culture and can not, in the end, escape its limitations.

4 out of 5 stars Timely study of the UN and the challenges of global leadership.......2007-06-01

The strengths of this excellent book far outweigh its weaknesses. It is especially compelling as a case study of leadership in a deeply flawed but essential institution. Traub's had access to Kofi Annan, as well as Annan's chief lieutenants at the UN, over an extended period of time that included his early successes, the events prior to the Iraq war and the Iraq "Oil for Food" scandal. Through the text we gain an understanding of the inner workings of the infamously cumbersome UN bureaucracy as well as the impossible constraints placed upon it by the United States government and the 191 other member states. Annan's early successes as Secretary General were substantial; yet his passive style of leadership made him very vulnerable. He ultimately paid a severe price. Traub documents Annan's physical and mental breakdowns and the blow to his reputation caused by his failure to properly monitor the Oil for Food program.

The book would have benefited from a section with further details on the overwhelming complexity of the UN organization and the lack of power of the Secretary General to control it. Traub also occasionally feels compelled to engage in weak, superficial "fair and balanced" analysis that is not helpful to the overall narrative. Overall, however, this is a fine book that is a useful way to learn about the challenges of running the UN.

4 out of 5 stars An Impossible Role.......2007-03-13

FDR was a leading proponent of the U.N. after WWII had proven the League of Nations (formed in response ti WWI) ineffectual. His vision was that the "four policemen" (U.S., Nationalist China, Russia, and Britain) would be able to prevent WWIII.

Unfortunately, it is hard to think good thoughts about the U.N. as it currently operates, given its consistent failures in Darfur, Iraq, Serbia, Congo, Zimbabwe, and the Mid-East, as well as in the areas of nuclear non-proliferation, global warming, and HIV/AIDS. However, it is much harder to think of a realistic and better alternative, given the high-level and intense jockeying for power by the U.S., Russia, and China, and Iran, Venezuela, Iraq, India, and others taking advantage of every opportunity to increase their own agendas.

In the midst of this never-ending squabbling, Kofi Annan, with little personal power within the U.N. and tarred by his son's role in the "Oil for Food" scandal, tries to convert his best intentions into constructive action. Predictably, he fails.

Hopefully "The Best Intentions" will lead the way to effective reform of the U.N., and we won't need a WWIII to come up with a better alternative.

5 out of 5 stars Kofi Annan's record.......2007-01-20

This is an excellent book, which reviews Annan's work from the inside of the UN secretariat. Traub was given generous access to internal debates and Annan's close associates, and gives a detailed account of the UN responses to
difficult or impossible dilemmas and crises during his term, and to the attitudes of member states. Annan's own personality is itself described, with its strengths and foibles in a candid way.
Recommended to all those interested in the UN and in the role of the UN Secretaries General.

2 out of 5 stars A huge scam.......2006-12-11

This book would have us beleive that were it not for 'bad' America the UN would have magically solved all the world's problems. But let us take one test case for this. Where has Kofi Annan been on Darfur and the genocide in the Sudan? Has he done anything? Dag Hamarskojld, the first Secretary General bullied western nations to intervene in the Congolese crises in Katanga in 1960. It is strange that he was able to acheive results in a place that was not a genocide, but Kofi wasn't able to do anything and not only that he won't even call the complete ethnic cleansing and murde rof 200,000 Blacks by White Arab miltiias 'genocide'. Kofi Anna is not the 'best' Secretary General, he is in fact the weakest and worst, the only thing he had going for him was that he was not a former Nazi the way Kurt Waldheim was. When Kofi goes the UN and the world will be a better place. This book doesnt bother to ask any important questions such as: Why did Kofi Annan's family become millionares through UN handouts and jobs while he was in charge, why is Kofi Annans house getting a 4 million dollar renovation? Why did the UN Human rights commission critisize Israel 50 times more than any other country in the entire world, thus attributing the problems of 6 billion people to a nation of 5 million? Why did the UN do nothing on the Sudanese genocide, the war in Congo and wars in Sri Lanka or anywhere else? Why did the UN ethnically cleanse all of the Serbs from Kosovo and why did it also colonize Kosovo?

5 out of 5 stars Timely, Relevant, Useful, Incomplete, Well-Presented, Lacking Notes & Larger Context.......2006-11-29

I give this book five stars instead of four, which I would normally assign, because the shortfalls in the book, most especially a lack of context, notes, and additional detail, are out-weighed by the timeliness, relevance, utility, and able original presentation.

This is an important book for our time. Indeed, I put it down thinking that the author has presented us with a meal of worms--and only those visible at the top of the planter box--but when you are starving--when there is no other viable alternative for peacekeeping--worms can be appetizing.

Before I present some details that made it to my fly-leaf notes, a few "big points" that stayed with me:

1) UN is a grotesque failure in many many ways, but also the closest thing we have to a viable global enterprise, hence, a good starting point for all its flaws.

2) Not addressed at all in the book, spoken of only in passing, the rather important point that most UN agencies are not at all subordinate to nor responsive to the Secretary General and his Secretariat.

3) The UN suffers from two major impediments: first, that the contributing or Member nations do not really want it to be effective, and ham-string it, particularly the Security Council members, although the author is vitriolic on China and Russia vetoing votes, while strangely silent on the US and its constant veto; and second, that personal relations built over decades far out-weight actual job titles and responsibilities, and can be blamed for many things including the Oil for Food corruption nightmare.

4) The author gently explores three major alternatives to the current situation:

4a) the division of the UN into a global body for mobilizing resources and consensus; and a separate global police or gendarme force. I would note, with a genuflection toward Oakley et all in "Policing the New World Disorder," that this needs to be standing force or at least an earmarked force, ideally led by the Dutch, which trains together and has inter-operable concepts, doctrines, and equipment. See also the edited work, "Peacekeeping Intelligence: Emerging Concepts for the Future."

4b) a Democracies body, one that purportedly brings together democracies and ends the domination of the UN by third-rate third-world countries, many managed by dictators and corrupt leaders who loot their commonwealths far more aggressively than Wall Street loots America and the rest of the world. This fails when one realizes that most democracies really are not...

4c) Regional networks that bring to bear regional concerns and resources in the context of the varied global agencies. This has some real possibilities, especially if information is shared broadly to provide a "ground truth" that is undeniable. I am reminded of J. F. Rischard's excellent recommendations in High Noon 20 Global Problems, 20 Years to Solve Them

There is a useful history of key Secretary Generals, one that makes the point that Dag Hammarskjöld was an anomaly, and Annan, for all his flaws, may be one of the few to rise to the Hammarskjöld level of effectiveness..

The author provides a useful history of UN ineffectiveness and UN successes. I certainly recommend that this book be read in tandem with William Shawcross's Deliver Us from Evil: Peacekeepers, Warlords and a World of Endless Conflict Interestingly, Shawcross and US diplomat Holbrooke were the only two personal guests at the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony.

This book is severely lacking in two ways:

1) It really does not communicate the complexity of the over-all UN archipelago of fiefdoms, most of which are not responsive to the Secretary General, nor does it adequately describe the many problems for the UN created by Third World and other blocs. In this book, China, Russia, and to a much lesser extent than it merits, the US, are the evil doers.

2) It completely misses the role that multinational, multiagency, multidisciplinary, multidomain information sharing, what the Swedes call M4IS, can play in bringing disparate groups to the table. The word "intelligence" does not appear in the index nor as far as I can tell, in the book itself. Overall the book focuses excessively on the Oil for Food scandal, and on Darfur, correctly making the point that Darfur was anticipated, that the Member nations chose to pay lip service to the problem through UN "deliberations," but the book fails to point out that Darfur is one of 17 genocides on-going, and it fails to put the Secretary General's mission in the larger context of what I call the [ten threats, twelve policies, and eight challengers]. See The New Craft of Intelligence: Personal, Public, & Political--Citizen's Action Handbook for Fighting Terrorism, Genocide, Disease, Toxic Bombs, & Corruption for large context.

The author concludes that the US invasion and occupation of Iraq have weakened the UN; and that most of the world does not see terrorism as a threat. Indeed, since this was written, the High-Level Threat Panel places terrorism as ninth on a list of ten high-level threats.

Throughout the book the role of the US as the 900 lb bully is the subtle and sometimes not so subtle sub-text. My own view, formed by my actual experience as well as my broad reading in non-fiction, is that the US, for all its good, is also the single most negative force on the planet, simply because it persists in virtual colonialism, unilateral militarism inclusive of 750 secret and not secret bases world-wide, and its tolerance for predatory immoral capitalism that has created a class war in which US financial and corporate elites bribe foreign elites, and they both destroy their own middle classes while looting all relatively defenseless economies. See the books Confessions of an Economic Hit Man; The Soul of Capitalism: Opening Paths to a Moral Economy; and Rogue Nation: American Unilateralism and the Failure of Good Intentions.

There is PLENTY of money to address the ten high-level threats with twelve intelligent inter-related policies that help the eight challengers avoid American mistakes that today produce a third of the waste on the planet while consuming a third of the energy. What we need now, in support of our new Secretary General, is a commitment to implement ALL of the Brahimi Report recommendations, inclusive of a Director of Global Intelligence (Decision-Support), perhaps sponsored by the UN Foundation, so that every Member nation, and every non-governmental organization, might operate in a transparent, accountable, sensible context. See Peacekeeping Intelligence: Emerging Concepts for the Future and my essays on "Virtual Intelligence" and on "Information Peacekeeping: The Purest Form of War."

Book Description

Sometimes, despite careful planning and the best of intentions, life works out differently than expected. In Best Intentions, authors Colleen Barney and Victoria Collins examine the impact of estate planning and share stories and letters from and about real people. These are people who, despite careful planning, did not pass on to their loved ones what they had intended-their own special life lessons, messages and financial inheritance.

Most books on estate planning center on avoiding probate and paying less in taxes. For the first time ever, a noted financial planner (Collins) and a respected estate attorney (Barney) present a completely new look at a subject usually considered dry and technical, even morbid. They use letters and stories by and about children, parents, and others to focus on nontraditional estate planning concepts like passing on visions and ideals, values and morals, work ethic and guidance, and love.

Emphasizing people, their lives, and their desires and goals for future generations, the authors show readers how to:

*Understand their own family, social, emotional, and economic dynamics.

*Identify what is really important to them.

*Tailor uniquely personal estate plans.

*Explore alternatives to traditional estate planning concepts.

*Balance the financial and emotional aspects of estate planning.

Sooner or later, estate planning becomes an important aspect of every individual's life plan. Best Intentions enables readers to apply practical, topical, and timely recommendations to their own personal circumstances-whether their net worth is $10,000, $10,000,000, or more.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great estate planning ideas for women.......2007-07-02

Great estate planning ideas and stories to get you thinking about how you want to provide for your loved ones, so that as you do your estate planning you can also transmit your family values.

5 out of 5 stars Best Intentions.......2007-01-10

This is a great book for anyone in the financial services industry or for those specializing in estate planning. These are real world cases that illuminate the need for proper planning by a qualified professional. This is also a great book if you are planning your own estate or you find yourself thrown into managing an estate for parents or loved ones. I can't say enough good things about this book or its authors.

5 out of 5 stars Great approach to a difficult & complicated subject.......2006-05-12

I enjoyed the book, Best Intentions, and have given copies to several friends. It includes real-life examples that are easy to understand and addresses hard to face issues well. For those of us 'Baby Boomers' who do have the best of intentions for loved ones we will someday leave behind, it is a good way to start the dialogue and plans for the inevitable.

5 out of 5 stars Interesting real stories.......2004-10-30

Using real stories, the author tried to tell you just a will may not be enough. You have to think, plan carefully before writing a will to make sure it is what you want to do with your leftover.

The stories show you a lot you never thought of. Worth reading for everyone.

5 out of 5 stars Estate Planning Made Easy.......2003-05-18

An excellent book -- the best I've ever read on the subject. As a financial advisor I can't recommend it enough. Most find estate planning confusing. This book is not confusing. It's an easy read. Each simple, short, touching story illustrates a different problem that can arise by not doing good estate planning. It will make you think about your own situation with more clarity than was possible before. This book could be called Chicken Soup For Your Legacy.

3 out of 5 stars Get it right !!!.......2006-01-09

Your readers must have read a different book and may have confused the facts. Det. Van Houten was not "off duty" at the time of this incident and he was not a witness to a crime in progress, but was the victim of a attempted robbery by the Perry brothers. Det. Van Houten did not kill Edmund Perry. Edmund Perry killed himself when he went out looking for a victim, and unfortunately for him, chose the wrong one. You can take the kid out of the "hood" but you cant take the "hood" out of the kid. Perry chose the wrong path and he paid for it with his life.

    4 out of 5 stars Seperate Lifes.......2004-05-10

Edmund Perry, a seventeen year old student at Exeter Academy, was shot unfairly by a police officer. This officer thought that Eddie was mugging a woman so he immediatly shot him. Eddie lived in Harlem, but attended school in New Hampshire at Exeter Academy. He was living two completely differnt lives, black ghetto with his family friends and a prestigious bording school with his teachers and friends. It was very unlikely for a black boy to go to a prep school at this time, but Edmund was a very smart boy. He attended Harlem primary school then had four years of private school and soon would be going to Stanford University in the fall. This couldn't happen for him. How could someone who worked so hard in life and got far, have their life cut off so short? How is this fair? Robert Sam Anson, the author of "Best Intentions" did a fabulous job getting the facts from Edmund's family and friends, because this is a true story.

5 out of 5 stars Best Intentions : The Education and Killing of Edmund Perry.......2004-02-03

This was just a really really good book

5 out of 5 stars A Disturbing Look At Society.......2003-07-14

Great things were expected of young Edmund Evans Perry, a gifted black teenager raised in Harlem and schooled at Philips Exeter Academy, one of the nation's most prestigious preparatory schools. At seventeen, he had already received four years of top-notch schooling, explored the world (Perry spent a year in Spain), and was accepted to Stanford University, where he planned to go for college starting in the fall of 1985. However, that summer Perry was dead, shot by a policeman on the streets of New York City, allegedly while involved in a mugging. What went wrong? The author spends most of the book trying to answer that question (we learn the basic story in the first couple chapters), and he does a remarkable job of doing just that. Robert Sam Anson interviewed the people who knew Perry, the people who made him what he was, both in Harlem and at Exeter, and over the course of the book, we learn just what happened to Edmund Perry. What you learn may surprise you, and it is sure to inspire many questions in all who happen upon its pages.

3 out of 5 stars An engaging, sensitive investigation.......2001-06-21

Best Intentions by Robert Sam Anson is an engaging and sensitive invistigation into why Edmund Perry, a black Exeter student who received a scholarship to Stanford, died in a dubious encounter with a police man. Anson traces Perry's stories from his years attending primary school in Harlem to his unsteady times at Exeter, a high class boarding school. Anson then crafts the Perry's story into a comprehensive and clear examination of race and education in America and the challenges that face black students. For those interested in education, race, or sociology, I would recommend this piece. It certainly isn't a cover-to-cover read, but it stimulates quite well.

4 out of 5 stars Possibly the best series Regency book.......2004-06-24

At least it's the best I have yet read. Hern does an excellent job of creating a memorable and well-developed heroine in Hannah. She is clumsy, outspoken, witty, intelligent, and vivacious. She's often like a fawn taking his first gamboling race across the meadow. Miles is not as well-developed, but he has the right sort of personality for this sort of more "innocent" romance. Moreover, he is a man who loves deeply and well. Sister Charlotte's personality seems to waver over the course of the book, and the reconciliation does feel somewhat false. The aged rector has much in common with the lively Hannah.

There are some very humorous moments; the romance builds steadily and gently. This quote sums up the tone: "She was a mess. She was the most adorable thing he'd ever seen."

For a quick but delightful Regency romance, this is the ticket!

4 out of 5 stars Falls short of expectations.......2000-05-01

This book started out very well and I had high hopes of it being a winner, but was a bit disappointed. The humor is definately there, and one or two scenes were laugh out loud funny, but the characters weren't as fully developed as I hoped. The heroine's sister who is her competitor for the hero's attention is more than a little unreal. The only character that I felt was really fully developed and that I could relate to was the heroine. The fact that the author could create a character with such depth proved she could have done the same for the others. Towards the end is when I felt the book fell flat as the two sisters who have been at odds with each other until that point suddenly become best friends again. It was a good read until that point, but I think the ending could have been improved.

      5 out of 5 stars Candice Hern's best yet!.......2000-01-08

Rejoice--Candice Hern is back with her best one yet!

Miles Prescott, Earl of Strickland, always welcomes his sister Winifred for visits home to Epping Hall, but this time, in addition to her husband and sons, she is also bringing along two distant cousins: one young lady just about to make her debut, and her chaperone, a widow. Miles knows that whatever matchmaking plans Winifred has won't be easy to thwart. He asks his friend and neighbor, Joseph Wetherby, to also join them to make the numbers even. Miles, a widower, knows that he should remarry to provide his daughters with a mother and also to try to beget an heir, but a chit just out of the schoolroom isn't what he had in mind--perhaps the widowed chaperone...?

Hannah Fairbanks does not want a Season in London, nor to become a lady. Though she is nearly twenty, she is interested only in her studies of ancient architecture. The only reason she agrees to go to Epping Hall is to visit the nearby St. Biddulph's, a church built in Saxon times. She will never be a charming beauty like her older sister Charlotte and she doesn't wish to marry, so why must she learn all those rules of proper behavior--why can't she just be herself?

Hannah steals the show with her innocent, delightful enthusiasm for historic buildings, keeping children amused, and making people smile. It is a joy to join her on this leg of her journey of self-discovery. The romances (yes, more than one) build slowly, but build they do in sometimes surprising ways. Ms. Hern has a special knack for creating a marvelous blend of incredibly true-to-life, sympathetic characters; touching scenes and emotion; and subtle humor. THE BEST INTENTIONS will send Candice Hern to the top of the Regency charts.

I couldn't finish one of her earlier books, don't recall the name. I read this one straight through. Wonderful story. It's as well written as any book by Carla Kelly or Mary Balogh.

        5 out of 5 stars Nice story.......2006-02-14

The original Thunderbolts together again at last! It seems that the thunderbolts have finally gotten the respect they deserve, the people have finally decided to forgive them and Baron Zemo has come up with a plan to use that trust for his own benfit. Captain America however isn't buying it that Zemo has become a good guy and sets a trap for Zemo and his gang. This is a very interesting read, I promise you that you won't regret it. The TBolts have grown alot since they first hit the scene, especially SongBird (one of my favorites). Kurt does a beautiful job and the art is good too! And oh yes, a surprise guest star makes an appearance! The sexy ... er cute and young JOLT! Former Member of the team, and Moral Compass for this band of delinquients trying to play 'hero'.

5 out of 5 stars The Thunderbolts as they should be.......2005-08-24

This is the Thunderbolts as they should be. A group of villains acting as heroes, and the reader is forced to wonder whether their actions are in the world's best interest, or just their own.

Co-Written by Kurt Busiek, the creater of the Thunderbolts and acclaimed Avengers scribe, and Fabian Nicieza, who has been writing the Thunderbolts for years, this is an excellent story of trust and intrigue.

The Thunderbolts are poised to save the world from itself, and the Avengers don't trust them. Hawkeye, former leader of the Thunderbolts want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but no one else, including the Avengers butler Jarvis trusts the former Masters of Evil. An Avenger infiltrates the Thunderbolts disguised as a known villain, which raises doubt as to whether the Avengers themselves can be trusted.

The characters are well written, including my personal favorite Moonstone, a brilliant female psychiatrist who may also be the most powerful person on the planet. The story is interesting, and the dual nature of the characters leaves you questioning what's really happening until the very end. The artwork is excellent, and I really feel that Tom Grummet is coming into his own as one of the best superhero artists in the biz.
