Not sure whether this book was the reason for me passing or the PM PowerTrac CBT tool by Management Concepts (the company I work for has multiple licenses for this). I didn't really do much of the sample questions, I left that to PowerTrac; the content is pretty good though and is readable. I think the key to passing is to understand the structure of the questions and do a few example exams. All in all, my preparation for the exam was about a month, and I wasn't very disciplined either!

Yes I passed the exam at second attempt. One reason the exam has gotten tough do not expect the question to be as easy as those that are in exercise or simulation exam. For every question you really need to know the fundamentals(as per PMI principles!!). That leads to my second reason for failing, I used much popular Rita Mulacahy's PMP exam prep book. The real problem started when I used the even more expensive PMP fast Track by RMC, each simulation test question answer confused me further. I took the PMP exam and I answered most obvious question with wrong answer. My friend suggested me to forget all other material and focus on this book. This book clearly explains the fundamental behind each knowledge area followed by Input - tools & technique - output of process within this knowledge area. If you understand and remember these gudelines thoroughly you are ready for the exam. If you are lucky and get many math questions you can score up to 70% easily. One more book which helped me was Paul Sanghera's PMP in depth, if you are an IT professional then you may find reading paul's book quiet enjoyable. Good luck.

Great book to pass the exam.......2007-08-17
I took PMP earlier this week and pass on the first try. This is a great book, easy to understand but it has its own drawbacks. My exam was really tough. I hardly had any math questions and all the exam questions were really lengthy with lengthy answers unlike the practice questions that appear as excercise and final exam. It was like mini reading comprehension on each question. So expect to see much harder questions that what is in the book. Good thing is that with PM experience and reading this book from begin to end, it will not be a problem to pass eventhough there will be many questions outside of this book. I don't know if the exam is getting tougher day by day or it was just my luck to see those kinds of questions.

A well organized book that will indeed prepare you to pass the PMP the first time. I reviewed this book from cover to cover twice. I took each chapter test two times and the 200 question test at the end of the book until I scored a 89%. Worth the money if your serious about being PMP certified.

I started PMP study reading this book. It is almost as boring (and lengthy) to read as the PMBOK, endless repeats on what the inputs and outputs are. The test exams at the end of each chapter are frustrating - and the given answers often still leave you puzzled.
I changed to Rita Mulcahy's book - which was a MUCH easier read with a lot more practical and useful information. She also doesn't focus much on memorization, but understanding. The sample questions are very good and the answers give you a very good understanding.
After successfully passing mock exams, I tried the mock exam included on the CD with the KIM Heldman book. The questions were very lengthy and difficult to read (worse than the real PMP exam) and I didn't manage to get a good score on this mock exam - which was really bad for my confidence close to the exam. I decided to not look at it anymore and I passed the exam.

I agree with the review by Albert, that there are numerous errors. The coverage mentioned in the title page of every chapter, leaves out some important topics covered within.
I would recommend this book to be read after attending a Instructor-led Training course, reading the PMBOK once, and reading Rita's book. Having such background will help to know the errors immediately.
On the positive side, this book is a good approach to organize the knowledge areas and process in a logical - real life order. The ongoing Kitchen Heaven Store project example provides a welcome break and a real-life manifestation of concepts.
Add to this, the sample exams and end of chapter summaries. I'll rate this 4-star and a good value for the money spent.
Too many errors, poor format, index lacking.......2006-08-14
I am studying for the PMP and have NOT sat for the test yet. I read this book (cover to cover), read the PMBOK-2005, and another book called 'PMP in Depth' (P. Sanghera).
I do not recommend the Sanghera book either (see my review on that book) but my comments on this book are this:
First, are the many blantant errors. Here are three examples of the many I found.
A) On page 191 it says "Interviewing" is not an official tool and technique of the Risk Identification process. This is not true (see PMBOK 11.2.2.2).
B)On page 254 it says that Activity Resource Estimating is an input to a process called "Human Activity Resource Estimating." This process does not exist in the PMBOK. The correct process is "Human Resource Planning." Further, this element is an input to two other processes not mentioned.
C) On page 263 it says Resource Limitations are NOT taken into consideration when conducting Schedule Network Analysis. The PMBOK (6.5.2.1) says that resource leveling is part of this tool and technique.
There are many other errors in this book (too numerous to mention here).
Second, the practice test questions are also riddled with errors. The danger in this kind of error is that the questions are tricky enough without putting the questions themselves into question.
Third, for me, the format of this book is not well suited to the way I learn (a personal point).
And fourth, the index is frustrating. Virtually all of the process inputs and outputs, and many of the tools & techniques, are missing -- it is structured for looking up process names.
On the positive side, I like the end of chapter summaries.
Best Reading to Pass PMP Exam.......2006-06-14
I bought and borrowed many books to study for the PMP exam and this was the BEST book, both in the material it covered and the way in which the material was presented. It is one of the few that take your through the project management process as you would really experience it, from project inception to closeout. Most other books geared toward the PMP exam organize the material based on the PMI knowledge areas, which have so much overlap it becomes confusing. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. I passed the exam using this book and the quizes in Rita Mulcahy's PMP Exam Prep, which follows the knowlege areas.

The Must-Have PMP Exam Book.......2007-10-04
I bought this book because a friend of mine with more than 15 years project management experience recommended this book to me. I'm glad I bought it. I would say this is basically the only book you need in addition to the PMBOK Guide to pass the PMP exam (I also used Dr. Sanghera's PMP Exam Quicklet which has very realistic practice exam questions). I am relatively new (beginner) to the project management knowledge. This book is especially excellent for beginners because it's self contained and explains each concept from scratch. (That's why I was also able to use this book successfully for my CAPM exam). I love the author's style. The whole book is like a story of project management, all the concepts, sections, and chapters are logically linked to each other: There is a perfect flow. Everything is explained such as why an input is an input and an output is an output...Things explained this way makes much more sense and the knowledge obtained this way stays with you even after the exam...
Another biggy is that the book is organized according to the PMP exam specifications, that is, according to the process groups, and exam objectives...the exam objectives covered in a chapter are explained in the beginning of the chapter...this is refreshing and re-assuring because most of the PMP Exam books including Rita's book don't do that...Talking about Rita's book, it's way over-hyped...full of advertisement pages and empty spaces, lots of references to the PMBOK Guide (that is, not self contained), and lots of artificially wordy (or complicated) questions...That said, Rita's book is not a bad book either.
Helpful but not a must-have book .......2007-10-03
I bought this book mainly because it had high customer ranking on Amazon.
If you are new to the PMI methodology, it is not a book to use for preparation. Too dry, too focused on the formal classification of the processes and knowledge areas. It takes all the fun and problem-solving spice from the art of project management and presents it as a set of dry schemas that are useless in practical life anyway and are not enough to answer questions on the PMP exam. PMBOK is a more lively and educational source of knowledge than this book, with almost the same number of pages.
The book omits number of areas that are covered in the exam - such as organizational theories. It does a decent job of presenting EV analysis and scheduling - enough to answer questions in the respective areas on the test.
However, situational problem-solving is reduced to questions like "what process group does this activity belong to?" while in fact it should be focused on the choices between bad, not so bad and too risky - decisions that a project manager constantly needs to make in a day-to-day life.
If you are good at memorizing, you should be able to pass the exam using just this book and PMBOK. If you want to enjoy your studying and hold on to your newly acquired knowledge more than 3 days past the exam, look elsewhere.
I learned more from free websites and PMBOK than from this book.
If you can choose between this book and Rita Mulcahy's book, spend more money and get her book.
Great PMP preparation tool.......2007-10-03
I started my preparation to PMP exam from reading PMBook which I found very dry a the first attempt.
Then I decided to buy a book that explains the concepts from PMBook. Well, I bought two books: Rita's book and Paul's. I started from reading Paul's because:
- it seems much `user friendly' and easy to read
- it is a self-contained book
- topics are organized in the order of Process Groups - which is very logical as projects run in that way
- at the beginning of each chapter you'll find exam objectives, at the end there are summary, glossary, things to memorize, comprehend and look out at the exam,.
And one more very important thing for me:
- there are no advertisements of the other products in this book (it is very annoying when you read Rita's book and you are frequently `advised' to her web page for some course or to buy the other tools in her offer - like FastTrack etc.). It makes reading this book much easier.
I found only three drawbacks to me:
- there are no `in depth' descriptions of communication processes
- an exam at the end of the book seems to be much easier than the real one is
- there are some errors in questions and answers in the exam
Overall, I think it's a great book but definitely it is not the only preparation tool for the exam as there are some topics not covered by this book.
True to the Exam Spec and Self Contained.......2007-08-14
Unlike many other study guides, this book is true to the PMP Exam Spec by PMI. It lists the exam objectives, explains them, and then covers them in a comprehensive fashion. Most other Study Guidesa are just a re-run of PMBOK Guide. This one is 100% compatible with the PMBOK Guide, but is organized according to the exam spec and explains all concepts from scratch. Self contained. I love it and highly recommend it.
Easy, Comprehensive, and Self Contained.......2007-08-09
I passed the PMP exam mainly by using this book and PMP Exam Quicklet by the same author. This book is very easy to understand and is written around the exam objectives unlike any other PMP exam study guide. The book is self contained (each concept is explained well), unlike Rita's book which repeatedly refers you to the PMPBOK Guide. The PMP Exam Quicklet contains Practice Exams with realistic questions. These are the only two books you need (in addition to the PMBOK Guide)to pass the exam.

This is a good book but not great. I prefer PMP Flashcard Quicklet by Paul Sanghera, which is very self contained and comprehensive. This book by Rita has quite a few errors and too many references to Rita's other books (not self contained)...as a second flashcard book, it's fine.
Worth the purchase, but a bit strange in execution.......2007-07-03
This review is for the audio cd flashcards. I am a recent PMP, and this was one of the tools that I used to pass the certification exam. For the price, this is a worthwhile purchase for those that will be studying for the exam and will spend a lot of time in the car.
At the beginning of the first disk, the explanation states that the cds should not be transferred to any device, which sounds like it includes transferring to MP3 players. There is no encoding restriction to prevent you from treating this like a normal cd and saving it to your hard drive or MP3 player, but in this day and age, it's a strange thing to hear. It's unclear if that's actually the intent, but it certainly comes across that way.
Rita tries to break up the monotony by telling anecdotes and tips at the beginning of each section, but this gets tedious quickly. Some of her jokes fall flat, and it becomes excruciating upon repeated plays. In addition, some of this is straight from her PMP Exam Prep book.
The bulk of the cds is recorded by a voice actor has chapters divided up by the knowledge area. The voice actor asks a question, and then there is a brief pause so the listener can attempt to come up with the proper answer. The pause is followed by the answer...most of the time. Some questions are asked, but in some cases the voice actor states that the answer is too long to be repeated, which just comes across as disruptive to the flow of learning.
In this day and age, it's bizarre to hear that the audio recordings can't ethically be allowed on a portable media device. The CDs could benefit from having some of the conversational fat cut out of them, and it would be good to hear answers to all of the questions posed. That having been said, this is a worthwhile purchase if you will be studying for certification and will be in a place to hear the cds. It's a fairly inexpensive study aid, and it certainly helped me earn my certification.

Pros:
1 - very well organized.
2 - great exercises help eliminate memorization. (although some amout of memorization is required).
3 - Helped me understand "wrong" project management practices. My favourite is the planning process. I have actually built my own little PM planning check list.
4 - Rita does an excellent job mixing concepts with examples, making reading the material a lot easier.
5 - if you are into project management, you will easily relate to a lot of concepts.
6 - great end of chapter review questions. (Some quite tricky)
Cons
1 - shameless advertising of other products is a bit of a turn off.
2 - There were times when I disagreed with Rita's point of view.
3 - Sometimes the end of chapter questions test you for english comprehension instead of project management skills. For example project manager is working on completing risk identification versus project manager has completed risk identification. The intent here is to deliberately trip the student.

I finished 3/4 of the book so far...not bad..it is a tough exam anyways...and you need to memorize a lot...the book is good....but you need to know how to benefit from it...i mean....sometimes in one small paragraph you find all what you need...and sometimes you read pages for nothing....
the book is based on the pmp knowledge areas.... which makes studying a bit boring sometimes....afterall maybe the material is heavy and it is not the books problem.....
I actually bought this book and rita's...so i believe it is a good start then you can jump into rita's...
Do not study with this book.......2007-02-07
I studied from this book for weeks and never improved on the assessment exams. With one day before test day, and in a bit of a panic, I threw the book in the waste basket and purchased the Rita Mulcahy text which had been recommended to me repeatedly. The one day I spent with the Mulcahy book was worth more than the 60 days I spent with the Heldman text for the following reasons:
1. The Heldman book does not follow the same format as the PMBOK. I at first considered this an advantage as I thought the different format would help my brain learn the material in a different way. This theory did not prove true. The Mulcahy book follows the same format as the PMBOK.
2. The chapter assessments and practice exam questions are confusing and there are bugs in the software that cut off some of the questions and answers. I assumed the format was indicative of how confusing the questions would be on the actual exam. This turned out to not be the case and in retrospect I wonder if the questions were scored correctly at all. The questions I saw on the exam were much more closely aligned with the format of the questions in the Mulcahy book.

Don't Study this book if you are trying to pass the PMP Certification Exam. This book is out of date. Be sure to buy a PMP Examp Prep book that was written for the PMBOK 3rd Edition.
Very helpful in passing the CAPM exam.......2006-06-19
The book combined with computer based test simulations are a very good preparation regiment. The book is very terse but cuts through to the case on what you need to know to pass the test.
The writing is not particularly great but is effective. It would be helpful to a bit more graphic representation of the various phases and processes. The practice tests at the end of the characters are helpful but they are not very representative of the actual questions in the CAPM test. I am not sure if the questions are representative of the PMP test.
Overall, a web-based practice test should accompany the book. The CD that came with the book was helpful but the questions again were not the best representation of the test questions.
The book did get me up to speed very quickly in prepartion for the test.
Conflicting Processes Names and Knowledge Area Allocations to PMBOK.......2006-05-25
In Kim Heldmans "PMP Study Guide 2nd Edition" Kim has very different processes than the PMBOK (names and what knowledge group the process belongs to).
For example, Kim has 'Admin closure' in the Closing Process Group/Project Communications Knowledge Area, where as the PMBOK, does not have 'Admin closure' as a process at all.
Another example is that the PMBOK lists 'Create WBS' as a process in the Planning Process Group/Project Scope Knowledge Area, where as Kim does not list this process at all.
Another example is that the PMBOK has 'Create Project Charter' and 'Create Preliminary Scope Statement' as processes in the Planning Process Group/Project Integration Knowledge Area, Kim has nothing in this intersection; but has an 'Initiating' Process in the Initiation group and designates it in the scope knowledge area - the PMBOK has nothing in the Initiation/Scope group.
These are just a few of many differences.
This is all extremely confusing and I would like an explanation. I think it is very poor of a book which references the PMBOK to have so many conflicts with the PMBOK.

This is a great book. This book covers 100% of the materials on the PMP Exam. Some of the questions on the PMP Exam comes from materials outside if the PMBOK. This book covers EVERYTHING on the PMP Exam. The questions at the end of the chapters are challenging and very well written. Knowing everthing in this book Plus reviewing the Input, methodologies,and output in the PMBOK will give you an excellent chance of Passing the PMP Exam. Great Study Guide for PMP Exam.......2007-04-13
I used this book and Paul Sanghera's Study Guide exclusively for studying for the PMP exam and passed on the first try. This book covers the nine knowledge areas with enough depth that you actually learn something rather than just memorize lists. You must to understand both the knowledge areas and process groups fully in order to pass the exam. Read this book first as it is easier to read than Sanghera's Study Guide. Then read Paul Sanghera's Study Guide to understand the ITTOs of the process groups as these are very important on the exam. Stay away from Rita's books unless you want to be convinced you will fail!

For all of you reading the PMBOK and having a hard time relating concept to real life, start using Joe's book. His study guide provides real life examples that help solidify the PMBOK concepts in your mind. And, he has great prep tests at the end of each chapter as well as additional questions available via CDROM. The best way to prep is to study, and practice, practice, practice. Joe's materials provides the best of both worlds!

Prior to my privilege of attending Mr. Phillips' Bootcamp class, I read the PMBOK on my own; too long, too hard, too BORING.
During his class however, we utilized this book, his book. It was an invaluable Roadmap right through the PMBOK. He breaks down that PMBOK into corresponding, comprehensible chapters. EVERYTHING is explained in simplistic terminology.
He also gets you into the test-taking 'mind set' by providing hundreds of questions (25 per chapter), & their answers, with explainations.
Bottom line, if you want 'PMP' AFTER your name, this book comes BEFORE the test. You will be totally prepared, and there will be no surprises.

Understanding a Cultural Obsession.......2007-04-23
Topic: - The book is the author's historical perspective, suggesting there are ever increasing visual evaluations and body standards being placed on American Girls.
Commentary: - The book does an excellent job of bringing attention to the messages girls are constantly bombarded with from all forms of media, advertising and cultural rules, messages that try to persuade them their body should have certain attributes and not have other attributes. It outlines how with each new generation, new social visual ideals are added. From shaving legs, to waxing, to eyebrow control, to hairstyles, to overall weight, to muscle tone, to bad breath, to body odor, to feminine hygeine, to piercings, to tattoos, to teeth straightening, to belly button length, to breast shape, to teeth whitening, and on and on.
Writing Style: - I thought the premise and supporting facts of this book were excellent, but if I have to fault one aspect of the book, it is that the writing sometimes lost my attention - this occurred even though I greatly care about the issues discussed in the book.
What would have made this book better?: - There is an inherent conflict in these issues: How do you make "not being a pawn to these social pressures" interesting and sexually attractive? One of the main draws that advertisers and social forces use is: IF you perfectly control your body and develop these many attributes, THEN you'll be more well liked, treated better, more in control, or more sexually attractive. For the book to have been even better, it needed to spend more time promoting non-conformist beauty ideals and conceptual frameworks.
In other words, it needed to do more to show how NOT persuing a "body perfect" can lead to better social relationships, understanding, attractiveness, etc. It's not enough to tell a person, "Don't do that." It's better to show them how alternative paths can produce more fulfilling and better outcomes. This is because women are constantly bombarded with the opposing messages of: "Make your body perfect" and you will receive _____ (fill in the blank).
Why did I write this review?: - I read this book about a year ago, and I didn't feel compelled to write a review. But one of the attributes of a great idea or a great book of ideas is the longer the ideas are considered in your brain (the more evidence and scenarios you evaluate using those ideas), the more those ideas resonate with 'truth' or significance.
Like most people, I use the internet often. I'm just sickened by the frequency of visual beauty ads. From wrinkle creams, to Stry-Vectyn, to Bo-Tox, to acne-fighters, and every other blemish or age-fighting cream, lotion, or potion. The same messages are coming from T.V.
Dove has launched a "Real Beauty" campaign, where they show women with "non-ideal" body types and weight ranges. And while I can admire some of the premise, which is: "Beauty is broader than the narrow definitions of supemodel advertising," I am also saddened as Dove, a cosmetic company, has also introduced the suggestion: Older women and non-ideal women need to spend more money on our beauty products. Olay's campaign of "Fight crows feet . . . on your elbows and your legs" is creating additional Body Projects for women to be concerned about.
Given the constant messages and pressures American women receive, I expect most women have dealt with an eating disorder or OCD mindset about their physical appearance. After reading this book, I admire every woman who has managed to overcome our culture's body obsession and who has found a way to moderate their eating habits and perceptions of their body.
I recommend at least scanning this book to find any topics of interest. Hopefully, young women who have read this book will be more able to recognize the unnecessary demands and often unreachable standards being asked of them. Hopefully they will learn to define their beauty, and the beauty of the women around them, using more non-body-defined benchmarks.

This book was the best non-fiction I have ever read. It details the changing attitudes towards girls' bodies from the Victorian era to now. It's a sad, hard truth, but opens readers' eyes to the stark reality of girls' bodies going from prime real estate -joint owners being parents and the future husband- to nothing but over-sexed, under nourished, under appreciated, and under protected citizens of society.
This book is a wonderful chronicle of the changes in physical appearance, as well as mental status, in the ever-changing world of girls in society.
Fair Attempt to Explain a Growing Problem.......2006-06-10
I bought this book because I see how girls/young women stuggle to achieve a very unrealistic ideal of beauty and how middle aged women stuggle to hang on to what they had as young women. As I approach 50, I know I am expected to stay trim, fit and muscular in spite of the fact that my body struggles mightly against it, especially since pregnancy and child birth.
As for the book, it is heavily researched and some of that research does involve journals from the 19th century and beyond. The first chapter is about how girls' bodies are maturing at a much faster rate than those of their fore sisters and the implications of this. Interesting.
The second chapter covers menstruation and menarche in detail. It is really too long. The basic premise of the chapter is how menarche has become consumerized. Mothers provide their daughters with all the mass manufactured equipment and not much else. The author wants menarche to be explained to girls as the time they enter womanhood, but I have a problem with this for two reasons. #1 Most girls are entering menarche at a time when they are not even remotely ready to be women. #2 When I enter menopause, am I exiting womanhood?
The third chapter covers the quest for perfect skin. It is page after page covering the subject of acne and how it has been dealt with over the past century. This, also, the author feels has been very much consumerized, as mothers take their daughters to the doctors and buy any and every cream and potion to relieve their daughters' agony.
The fourth chapter deals with the history of girls trying to achieve the perfect body and the fifth with the disappearance of virginity and how women have gained sexual freedom, but this has also filtered down to girls in middle school and high school and most of these girls and young women are ill equipped mentally and emotionally to deal with the ramifications of their sexuality.
The overall ideals in the book are excellent. The fact that girls have lost their closeness with mothers, aunts, teachers and other female role models. The fact that most of their learning comes from the media and girls their own ages. The fact that outward beauty is what females are judged by rather than beauty that comes from inside. The fact that girls are no longer protected through the family unit. They are sexually active earlier and earlier and often with older men and not boys of their own age. They have been sold the goods of freedom and independence when they are really not ready for them, etc.
Unfortunately, the book did not so much back up these ideas, but more harped on consumerism...the buying of feminine products, make up, clothes, etc. I am pretty sure this is but I small part of the problem.
Why "beautiful on the inside" doesn't seem to matter anymore.......2006-01-19
What happened to American girls, to women, over the past hundred years, that caused a quantum shift in how they present themselves to the world?
Intelligence, spirituality, charity and volunteerism, and skills for all things domestic were once revered. The most popular girl in her class wasn't the prettiest girl. The girl considered best for marriage had the qualities desired for a wife and mother and not what she looked like on her husband's arm.
We are all victims of this shift.
I admit I first noticed this book on a shelf in a train-station bookstore because of the flat, tanned belly on the cover. We've become a society obsessed with pieces and parts and appearances of the pieces and parts rather than the beauty of the whole person. Our self-esteem is measured by the numbers on the scale or the size of our jeans or the clarity of our skin.
Over the past six years, I've reread this book a few times, and always find a new point that rings true.
In her revealing (yet not surprising) sociological history Blumberg uses the best and most frank sources to illustrate her case: the private diaries of young women, from the Victorian era to present day (the late 90's). Blumberg theorizes that it's the media and consumerism that are the biggest contributors to the shift and uses excerpts from the diaries to make her point.
Blumberg focuses on middle-class Caucasian girls circa 1998, and perhaps the book needs an update to focus on a broader demographic as well as address the influence of the internet which has since become an increasingly important factor in the socialization and self-awareness of young women.
I think this is a decent book for a teenage girl, but I'm not sure it will have much of a positive influence. Girls are constantly being fed about how they should look and what products they should buy to achieve beauty.
It's a better book for a woman in her 20's or 30's who might want a better understanding of why we've become the way we are.
Unworthy of "American" in its title.......2005-10-02
The Body Project provides very selective leeway into the societal effects of African-American adolescent girls and their personal body projects. The main focus of this book is on the evolution of the white middle-class adolescent girl throughout American history. African-American and Jewish girls are mentioned briefly in a few chapters, while other ethnic groups are simply never discussed. Are these other various ethnic groups not worthy of their equal place in Brumberg's book?
Brumberg focuses on the evolution of the white middle-class female adolescent starting in the early 1800s and ending in the late 1990s. An evolution of the African American adolescent also took place during these times, but differently than that of their white female counterparts.
In order to understand black American adolescents today, foundation for cultural practices must first be established. Brumberg never mentions the coexistence of enslaved blacks, in America during the 18th or 19th centuries.
Though all women have the same biological anatomy, our genes vary, our cultures vary, so we should dispel the idea that when certain groups of women who menstruate earlier than others are abnormal or inferior. Brumberg reveals that this type of thought was well circulated throughout the medical community remained true during the Victorian period. The notion that black health was considered an expendable asset in the American medical community well through the early 1970s.
One major issue that Brumberg avoids is the abuse of children and adolescents. There is probably a close connection between the body projects that adolescents undertake and their harsh self-image.
Brumberg fails to expand on the greater idea that people exist who can never truly choose their identity before it first chooses them. Many girls are intrinsically bound to a stereotype, despite self-image. Possibly everyone has small things that they would like to alter about their physical appearances; however Americans also fail to see these "body projects" as a form a western female mutilation, of which millions of women have fallen victim. Plastic surgery is an ever-growing project that young girls obsess about. This standard idea of beauty that girls manipulate themselves on must disappear, before our individuality as women disappears.

I have found in this book all what I'm looking for to study for the Project+ certification in a short period as it contains comprensive descriptions in additions to the sample questions and answers. In fact, I like very much, the sample exam in the beginning of the book which helps you to know what you need to concentrate on more...

This is a good introduction about IT Project Management, but it does not prepare for the Project+ test.
Regardless, I think this book should be readed because It is very interesting and well-written.

I got this book with an incomplete prior knowledge about project management. I used to know about some parts of planning, execting and controlling stages. However, I had no previous knowledge about initiation and closing. My advice to you is that this is all what you need to pass the test. It has all of the information. The book contains sufficient descriptions about the Project+ process groups without unnecessary extra details. It is easy to read and is very concise in explaining the terms and has plenty of real-lify examples. Each chapeter has 20 MCQ at the end of it. The book has two practice tests.
I used this book as the only source to prepare for my test. I passed from the first time.
