T. Kennedy ADN nursing student.......2007-08-19
Hello, I recommend this book to anyone going into nursing. It has helped me and many of my colleagues in writing our care plans/care maps. It really helps to get you started by giving you different ideas to work with such as objective and subjective data, actions/interventions, desired outcomes/evaluations. I can't really say enough about this book and don't know what I'd do without it.
Excellent for students!.......2007-08-15
This is very helpful for formulating Nursing Dx and Interventions. I especially like the bookmark in back that lists all NANDA approved Dx(s).
Love it.......2007-05-22
I abolutely love this book. It is great for doing care plans, i had one from 2002 and it got pretty beat up. So i upgraded and it was great. I've used this book for care plans from regular general to maternity to pediatric. It is worth the money, but rationales are a bit short and some doesn't have a rationale, but i still love this book.i
Great Book.......2007-04-15
This is an awesome book. It helped me tremendously in nursing school. I had three other books that were uselees and much more expensive compair to this one.
Nursing Guide.......2007-03-25
This is an excellent guide to have if you are a student. I would highly recomend it!

Book Description
C# programmers all have one thing in common -- they're learning a new language. That fact alone brings challenges, frustrations, and constant demands on your patience. And, no matter how good your reference books are, you can't always stop to thumb through hundreds of pages to find the piece of information you need. Your answer is the C# Language Pocket Reference. Concise and easy to use, this handy pocket guide to C# comes from the authors of C# in a Nutshell, and is a must-have quick reference for anyone implementing this new object-oriented language. The C# Language Pocket Reference offers the convenience of a quick reference in a format that will actually fit in your pocket. The book includes a guide to C# language elements, a brief overview of the Framework Class library, a cross-reference for namespaces and assemblies, a list of compiler syntax and switches, a regular expressions reference guide, and more. You'll be surprised at how much information can fit into this slim volume. O'Reilly's Pocket References have become a favorite among programmers everywhere. By providing a wealth of important details in a concise, well-organized format, these handy books deliver just what you need to complete the task at hand. When you've reached a sticking point in your work and need to get to a solution quickly, the new C# Language Pocket Reference is the book you'll want to have.
Customer Reviews:
great reference and starter.......2006-02-06
Having coded in C++ for years with only a small amount of experience in C#, this book was a great asset. It gives a good overview of the basics of C# and doesn't gloss over important details like space requirements and (optional) memory management.
The book is also a great reference for the .NET Framework. Obviously it does not give an in depth explanation of every concept, being only 118 pages long. Instead it references a number of .NET libraries that you should look into depending on what you're trying to do. I love this concept! Now whenever I want to try something new, I first check in the Pocket Reference to see what I should look into, then either go to MSDN or crack open a larger, less navigable manual.
Recommended for all those relatively new to C# and in need of a good starting point in the .NET Framework.
Nice Quick Overview Of C#.......2005-06-22
For anyone that is looking to learn or make the transition to C#, this is a nice little overview to quickly get your feet wet. Being a pocket reference, this isn't meant to be a book where you can quickly become a C# expert, rather it's a nice, light introduction to what this new language by Microsoft provides and why .NET development is so easy (hint: C# makes quick use of all the thousands of modules already built by other programmers in the past)!!
These little pocket reference books should accomplish a couple of things: giving you a quick overview of the language, providing tables & figures stating the new conventions used, and namespaces/libraries that can be called up to speedily use pre-existing code. For this price, I think that you would find the 'C# Langugage Pocket Reference' to be a fine way to start your C# career or even quickly brush up on topics you might not have remembered.

The BarKeeper Pocket Peeker is a compact drink recipe guide that fits easily into a shirt pocket or backpants pocket for quick and easy access. Its easy to read and the recipes are in alphabetical order. The drink name, the type of glass to use, the ingredients, the mixing method and the garnish are all included. All this information in a neat little flip-chart style booklet that practically fits in the palm of your hand. The pages are even laminated to easily keep them clean and dry so your BarKeeper Pocket Peeker will last you a long, long time. You won't find any of those obscure or fly by night drink recipes thrown in to fill up space. These cocktails are being mixed by the millions today in nightclubs, bars, restaurants and casinos from coast to coast.
Customer Reviews:
Great basic pocket book.......2007-09-25
Great mini pocket book for all servers/ bartenders, or even people who want to throw mini cocktail parties at home. No pictures or anything, just a basic recipe for all kinds of cocktails you can imagine. It comes with a little bottle opener, what a neat idea. It might not have all new fancy drinks you see on HBO shows, but for the basics, this is what you need.
Simply The Best.......2006-05-03
I have never owned such a more convenient and detailed drink recipe guide as this! I would recommend this to any Bar Tender or anyone who wishes to make drinks like a pro.
it serves it purpose.......2005-10-09
this booklet is actually 9 laminated index cards held together by a keychain ring. it also has a small bottle opener. i have not used it much yet, but it seems simple enough.
it's arranged in ABC order and provides the following info for each drink:
type of glass used, ingredients, method of pouring (shaken, blend, over ice, etc.), and garnish used.
it definitely serves as a quick reference, but not much more than that. i recommend it if this is all you need it for.
PocketPeeker Disapoint.......2005-10-09
Overall the BarKeeper Pocket Peeker does have most usefull drink mix recipes for the average consumer and bartender, however, the size, shape and construction of this small "booklet" does not compromise the value. The book is held together with one small ring loop, and is quite hard to use as a quick reference guide if ti was in someones back pocket as it seems to be for. Even the pocket-knife bottle opener that the picture shows in the advertisement is not the same as the one shipped. The bottle opener has no knife and I could have bought the opener at any store for 25 cents. Dissapointed.
FABULOUS.......2005-08-03
This is the best idea! The little book fits perfectly in my back pocket. It's great for when you have a brain fart and need to remember how to make some of the "classics" that are coming back in style. It also has many newer drinks as well. I use it almost every time I work! Don't think it would be good for someone with poor eyesite as the writing is small, but it has to be to cram that much info into such a small space! I LOVE IT!!!

Best Quick Reference Around........2000-12-20
This handy little book, which can easily fit into a labcoat pocket, is the best quick reference for obstetric ultrasound that I have seen. The pictures are remarkably clear and topics are easy to locate. I recommend this book for anyone, experienced or not, who is involved in this type of ultrasonography.

Advanced Mac OS X Programming (2nd Edition of Core Mac OS X & Unix Programming)

Book Description
Objective-C is an exciting and dynamic approach to C-based object-oriented programming; it's the approach adopted by Apple as the foundation for programming under Mac OS X, a Unix-based operating system gaining wide acceptance among programmers and other technologists. Objective-C is easy to learn and has a simple elegance that is a welcome breath of fresh air after the abstruse and confusing C++. To help you master the fundamentals of this language, you'll want to keep the Objective-C Pocket Reference close at hand. This small book contains a wealth of valuable information to speed you over the learning curve. In this pocket reference, author Andrew Duncan provides a quick and concise introduction to Objective-C for the experienced programmer. In addition to covering the essentials of Objective-C syntax, Andrew also covers important faces of the language such as memory management, the Objective-C runtime, dynamic loading, distributed objects, and exception handling. O'Reilly's Pocket References have become a favorite among programmers everywhere. By providing important details in a succinct, well-organized format, these handy books deliver just what you need to complete the task at hand. When you've reached a sticking point in your work and need to get to a solution quickly, the new Objective-C Pocket Reference is the book you'll want to have.
Customer Reviews:
An excellent intro to Obj-C for those who need the depth.......2004-05-10
Probably the best book to read to learn Objective-C, if Apple's PDF on the language is not enough for you. Covers Objective-C both from Cocoa and non-Cocoa perspectives. Try Apple's PDF first, and if it's not enough to let you jump into one of the Cocoa programming books (which all mostly assume knowledge of C and Objective-C), then this book is recommended.
Handy, well written Objective-C Reference!.......2003-11-15
Andrew Duncan's Objective-C Pocket Reference is just the book that budding Cocoa programmers should have on their desk. It is well written, well indexed, and succinct enough to read in an evening if desired.
After reading it cover to cover, I think this will be a valuable resource for looking up any Objective-C related questions I have.
Note, you should have an understanding of C before trying to read this book. Also - it will probably make more sense to you if you already have some experience with Cocoa. This is a quick reference - probably not the best way to learn the language. However, the book contains a list at the end which recommends other books and websites which are more thorough.
I'd say it's well worth the cost.
A great resource for digging deeper into Objective-C.......2003-09-30
O'Reilly's OBJECTIVE-C POCKET REFERENCE follows in its line of slim booklets designed for quick reference while at the computer. I found it a very helpful book.
While titled "a pocket reference", the book is not something that should be put on the shelf right away and merely consulted from time to time. For a beginning Objective-C programmer, reading the book straight-through can be very enlightening. The basics of Obj-C are easy to grasp, and an Obj-C beginner can immediately start constructing solid applications without knowing about categories, protocols, or root objects. But O'Reilly's book is the best place to start becoming familiar with these obscure topics that might just help one solve a particularly tricky problem.
I have only a few complaints about the book. One is that it talks about the #import preprocessor directive, but nowhere does it mention the advantages of using #ifndef guards. Another problem is that in some parts it is Cocoa-specific; I would have preferred that it concentrate on the OpenStep standard in general so that other OpenStep implementations might not be left out (but the book does occasionally mention GNUstep, which is great).
O'Reilly proves itself the best publisher for developers again with this book, and any Objective-C programmer should invest in it.
Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic.......2003-01-29
I have three different books for objective C programming, which by the way are very hard to find. This book, which was published just recently, is the best objective c book I have read yet.
Objective C is a great language for all platforms, not just the Mac OS, and this book leads you to it. It gives you both Cocoa and standard C information. If you are interested in learning Objective C, this is the book for you! It's inexpensive, small concise and packed with information.

Medical Physiology Pocket Review.......2007-09-14
This is a great because it's not as large as the text yet contains the same info. I find it easier to follow compared to the text. I'm glad I ordered it.
Pocket Companion as a good review, esp. before you sleep!!.......2001-01-18
This pocket companion serves as a concise overview of the most important facts & concepts from the parent textbook (Guyton's Textbook of Medical Physiology). However, it does not contain all the details or some clinical relevances, that's why you have to go back to the parent textbok for furthur info.
Review of Pocket Guide for Guyton's Medical Physiology Text.......2000-05-01
Good figures. Text is easy to read. Guyton's text is especially good in explaining cardiovascular material. It complements the larger text well, and is recommended as a good, shorter version of the main text.

Customer Reviews:
Definately NOT for the Beginner.......2003-08-24
Unless you are extremely experienced with Silver and Gold items and what / where their origin may be, this book is probably not for you. The chances of being able to find what you are looking for reminds me of looking for a needle in a haystack. The marks are illustrated in VERY SMALL 1/4" black and white diagrams, column after column, put in tables with time period or comment in print that is even smaller than the diagram. Several (bordering on too many) of the marks look very much the same and after looking at 170 pgs of extremely small and not necessarily clear diagrams and images, I feel I should of spent my money elsewhere for info on silver ID.
Not for the Beginner.......2003-08-23
Not easy for any beginner to use. Unless you knew exactly what kind of silver you were trying to identify i.e. English, Scottish, Irish... etc, it was a bit confusing. Marks are black & white, some not showing very good clarity and everything is in extremely in small print. If you just want to sort through tons of marks and dates, this may be for you. If you want information about your piece, pass it up.
Excellent!!.......2002-05-03
This is a great little book!
Easy to use to look up maker's marks while out antiquing, or at auctions, or what-have-you.
I just wish there was a section of Russian Silversmiths Marks. But other than that... A+!
Take it antiquing with you!.......2001-03-24
This is a great little book to take antiquing with you if you collect English silver. Although not exactly pocket size it can still fit in your bag or you can hold on to it without it getting cumbersome. Unlike many of the other silver ID books the hallmarks shown in this book are large and clear enough that you don't need your glasses to decipher them. A nice plus is that it reviews selected makers of Georgian through 20th Century silver and offers a little comment on their work.

Book Description
Many Linux and Unix developers are familiar with the GNU debugger (GBD), the invaluable open source tool for testing, fixing, and retesting software. And since GDB can be ported to Windows, Microsoft developers and others who use this platform can also take advantage of this amazing free software that allows you to see exactly what's going on inside of a program as it's executing. This new pocket guide gives you a convenient quick reference for using the debugger with several different programming languages, including C, C++, Java, Fortran and Assembly. The GNU debugger is the most useful tool during the testing phase of the software development cycle because it helps you catch bugs in the act. You can see what a program was doing at the moment it crashed, and then readily pinpoint and correct problem code. With the GDB Pocket Reference on hand, the process is quick and painless. The book covers the essentials of using GBD is a testing environment, including how to specify a target for debugging and how to make a program stop on specified conditions. This handy guide also provides details on using the debugger to examine the stack, source files and data to find the cause of program failure-and then explains ways to use GBD to make quick changes to the program for further testing and debugging. The ability to spot a bug in real time with GDB can save you hours of frustration, and having a quick way to refer to GBD's essential functions is key to making the process work. Once you get your hands on the GDB Pocket Reference, you'll never let go!

The free GDB Quick Reference is more useful.......2007-03-02
In my opinion, the GDB quick reference that you can download for free is more useful. To go over the basics, this book is OK, but for daily lookup purposes, the quick reference is more useful.
I purchased this book as a "filler" to reach over $25 for free shipping. I'm a software engineer and do use GDB frequently.

Regular Expression Pocket Reference: Regular Expressions for Perl, Ruby, PHP, Python, C, Java and .NET (Pocket Reference (O'Reilly))

Book Description
C++ is a complex language with many subtle facets. This is especially true when it comes to object-oriented and template programming. The C++ Pocket Reference is a memory aid for C++ programmers, enabling them to quickly look up usage and syntax for unfamiliar and infrequently used aspects of the language. The book's small size makes it easy to carry about, ensuring that it will always be at-hand when needed. Programmers will also appreciate the book's brevity; as much information as possible has been crammed into its small pages. In the C++ Pocket Reference, you will find:
- Information on C++ types and type conversions
- Syntax for C++ statements and preprocessor directives
- Help declaring and defining classes, and managing inheritance
- Information on declarations, storage classes, arrays, pointers, strings, and expressions
- Refreshers on key concepts of C++ such as namespaces and scope
- More!
C++ Pocket Reference is useful to Java and C programmers making the transition to C++, or who find themselves occasionally programming in C++. The three languages are often confusingly similar. This book enables programmers familiar with C or Java to quickly come up to speed on how a particular construct or concept is implemented in C++. Together with its companion STL Pocket Reference, the C++ Pocket Reference forms one of the most concise, easily-carried, quick-references to the C++ language available.
Customer Reviews:
You get what you pay for.......2007-02-16
If you are looking for a quick and dirty C++ pocket reference, this book should be on the top of your list. It covers all of the necessities, which is great for when you are switching between programming languages. If you have too many languages in your mind, a quick reference is a great little refresher, which this book certainly provides.
My only qualm, and the reason it loses a star, is that the organization is not completely intuitive. However, after a few uses, you get used to this and it becomes a non-issue. I suppose you would have this with any book.
Excellent as intro for C and Java Programers.......2004-07-01
For many years, I did most of my programming in C, but never learned C++. In recent years, I have been using Java mostly. Now I wish to get back to C++, and I have found this book to be an excellent introduction. In order to read this book one already needs to know how to work with the very low level aspects of C, and at the same time one must understand object oriented concepts. But for the reader who is at such a place, this book provides a very concise description of the C++ language. In just 125 small pages, the author manages to step through all of the aspects of the C++ language and concisely describe them.
Great pocket reference.......2003-07-06
The C++ Pocket Reference is designed for C or Java developers who occasionally program in C++ and need a syntax reminder. Not designed as a tutorial or provide lengthy instruction on the subject, this book is great for a one paragraph explanation on a particular topic.
I found this to be a very useful and easy to follow book. It starts out with the basics of writing a C++ program (processor directives, data types) and slowly moves into more complicated aspects of this language (like templates and memory management).
I would highly recommend this as a reference book if you find yourself occasionally doing some programming in C++.
