New Perspectives on Microsoft Office Excel 2003, Comprehensive, Second Edition (New Perspectives (Paperback Course Technology.......2007-09-29
Good product. Just as it was described. I ordered this for my daughter for a college class that she is taking.
The best price anywhere........2007-09-26
This book is the same anywhere you go but it was the cheapest and when comes to school books, if can get deal then you should. I had no problems with delivery it was an easy process and got it in no time.
Item in perfect condition.......2007-02-17
This item was in perfect condition.. just as described. I am very satisfied with this item and with how the seller conducted this transaction.
great textbook for new and experienced users of Excel.......2007-02-14
Thsi book is great!, I'm taking an Excel class this semester at college and needed the book. Great price and easy to understand for new and old users of Excel.
Used it in college course - EXCELLENT BOOK!.......2007-01-10
I'm taking Excel Spreadsheets in college this quarter. The book is clear, and easy to understand (even for those unfamiliar with using a computer, in my opinion).
One of the best parts is the great visual aids. Each tutorial gives color pictures of what you should be seeing on the screen of your computer while you work the tutorial. Sections within the chapter are also very well color organized and bolded for easy skimming if you are not new to the material.
Our teacher says that the book gets really advanced the farther on you read. Our basics & intermediate class only goes halfway through the book. The advanced excel class reads the second half, which teaches material on the level required by Microsoft in order to receive Microsoft Office Certification on the "expert" level.
On another note, Excel is an invaluable tool for personal use and in the work world.

Teach yourself how to use the latest version of Microsoft Projectone step at a time! Use easy, self-paced lessons to build exactly the skills you need to manage simple to complex projects.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent BOOK.......2007-07-29
I find this book very easy to read. I am a beginner and the book is very friendly describing the info. Go ahead. You will not regret paying the $$$. The good thing that every keyword in the text is blue-colored. If you read the fist part (5 chapters) you will understand the PM very well (if you are a novice). Good for students and professionals too. The CD attached for practicing is very easy too. I am happy.
Top of scale.......2007-07-16
This is the 7th purchase from here and I have yet to be anything but well satisifed. This one tops the list as it was helpful right of the shelf at my new job. The boss was happy so you can gues how I feel.
great book.......2007-06-13
the book came on time and had the CD. It was it great shape.
Good to Start With.......2007-06-09
Covers the basics very good.
However, not very comprehensive. OK as a first book in this field.
Very thourough but moves at a very slow pace.......2007-05-25
This book is well written and clear with lots of follow along activities. While I'm pretty new to Project, I still found the pace exhaustingly slow. It's a bit hard to skip ahead as you don't really know when the good stuff is going to come in. It's done this way to allow you to work either from start to end, or jump from topic to topic.
I can't fault them for this, but as I was trying to learn everything about the program, I found the pace so painfully slow that it was a bit discouraging.
I think this book is best for either a person who does not have a lot of computer experience and really wants their hand held at every step, or someone who just needs a reference to look up particular techniques. If you are fairly savvy and are trying to learn quickly, you may find this a bit of a drag.
4 Stars because it's good at what it does, but not 5 because for some it'll just be too dull.

Customer Reviews:
This IS the book!.......2007-07-27
Yes, it's big. Yes, it costs $60+. Yes, it has some "stuff" in it that experienced managers don't need. Yes - this IS the best MS Proj reference book out there. I've read many of them and still have to keep hitting blogs and vainly searching through help to find answers. With this baby on your desk, YOU have the answers at hand.
Buy it. Read it. Use it.
Too wordy.......2007-03-08
There is some good information, but it is buried amougst stuff you can get for free in the help files.
Excellent Book!.......2007-02-14
If you are looking for a book that is related to real world situations rather than teaching you to use 100's of out of context features... than buy this book, this book shows you when and how and most importantly why to use different features of MS Project. It also explains concepts clearly and simple.
Dont buy any other books...
Too many words for concept.......2007-02-11
The book could be compressed to at least half of its size. It takes about a hundred pages to get to the real stuff. A lot of marketing about the author's organization is boring and irritating. Because as a project manager I don't have time to get thru all these crap. Very bad style to write a book.
Having said that, some positives are, a few concepts have been explained well.
A great book to learn MS Project 2003 AND scheduling techniques.......2006-09-29
I purchased this book as part of the "Microsoft Office Project 2003 Orange Belt Self Study Package" from IIL (Institute for International Learning). For those who understand the basic concepts of project management, the book is extremely educational as it will teach you the basics of MS Project, as well as various project scheduling techniques that you may not have been aware of.
The book also clearly illustrates the various "quirks" of MS Project, and how best to use the features. Some of the material may be a rehash for those who have used the tool before, but from my experience, 90% of the people who claim to be MS Project "savvy" have never used the advanced features.
FYI...
For those interested in the IIL OrangeBelt certification (which is THE official MS Project certification approved by Microsoft), think twice about doing so. The package was $350, which covers the cost of this book, the exam, and an extremely poorly-written answer guide which is supposed to serve as a supplement, but failed miserably due to poor content. Simply buy this book and use MS Project regularly, and forego the certification that few people know/care about.
In summary, this is a great book which I highly recommend for any project manager who plans to use MS Project regularly.

the book.......2007-10-01
it got in at a pretty good pace but it was in a rather ugly condition.
Good Resource.......2007-05-12
This is an excellent book for someone with a basic to moderate knowledge of office products who wants to learn more. The book does a good job of covering basic concepts and an excellent job of describing the different methods and shortcuts to perform a particular task.
SHELLY CASHMAN'S BOOKS ARE GREAT.......2007-03-08
I have used Shelly Cashman's books since 1988. A step-by-step learning tool that you cannot go wrong with. After you used this book or any in the series you will not try another. The SAM Training Companion CD and the Fast Cards that are with the book are very helpful. The OTHER WAY BOXES AND QUICK REFERENCE SUMMARY can get you out of any situation you get yourself into. The IN THE LAB projects after each chapter are a excellent way to reinforce your skills.
When I need to learn something new or update my skills I reference Shelly Cashman Series first. Or I just do not learn it!!!

Excel 2003 Step by Step Review.......2007-10-03
This book was a solid introduction to Excel 2003. I have used Excel since about 2000 and found the first parts of the text to be information I already knew. Even so, I went through every single exercise and picked up a few shortcuts - mainly right click tips along the way. The introduction to PivotTables was helpful. Also, importing and exporting data is a good introduction. Toward the end of the text, as expected, the exercises get a little more challenging. The breadth of the text is good. I'd recommend for beginners. The back of the book says for Beginning to Intermediate users, which is accurate. There are very few typos in the text. Opted to buy Excel 2003 Inside Out for more advanced Excel knowledge.
Great book to update your knowledge of Excel.......2007-09-22
I think this is one of the best books you can buy to update or improve your knowledge of Excel. I feel confident that even a novice could learn how to use Excel.
Best Excel Training Book.......2007-06-20
This book was required by the University of Tennessee's MBA Program to get those who were not experienced with Excel to an experienced user level. I considered myself an intermediate user before the program; however, the book was an excellent supplement to the program. Frye does a great job of illustrating click-for-click moves along with graphics--in addition, the CD included really helps bring the learning home.
Microsoft Office Excel 2003 Step by Step.......2007-06-12
This book is good if you are going for your specialist certification. However if you are going for Expert level I did not find it helpful. There are a lot of items not covered in this book that you need to know for the expert level certification
Microsoft Excel 2003 Step by Step.......2007-06-12
I ordered several of these 'Step by Step' 03 books and your's came within the alotted time frame, but much later than the others; however, you still provided a very good service.

Customer Reviews:
Office for Dummies 2003 helpful but not all inclusive.......2007-04-04
This book certainly has value, but fails to fulfill expectations beyond the basic use of the various programs. There were many helpful tips, but for an advanced user, this book is not the answer. It is perfect for a beginner or early intermediate user of the programs and is a good reference for a person just getting started on these programs.
Office 2003 All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies.......2007-04-02
I bring the book with me to work and when I don't know how to perform a task with windows, the book walks me through it. It is a wonderful book to keep on my desk as well as help at home.
Excellent book teaches you the essentials and more!.......2007-03-26
I got this book really to learn more about Excel and Access, but I ended up reading the whole thing. I find it works best if you have the programs open and you can practice doing the things the author mentions in the book. As far as Excel goes, I've just about mastered that program after reading the section on it. At work I've put everything on spreadsheets now and it's made my life a whole lot easier!
At first I wasn't going to read the sections on Word or Outlook because I've been using those programs for many years and felt like I already knew everything. However, after reading the sections I was surprised by how much I didn't know. And how I had been doing things the 'hard way' because I was unaware of all the little short cuts and tricks. I highly recommend this book. I was able to go through 2 sections a day, so it took me less then a week to become proficient at Microsoft Office Suite.
Much helpful information.......2006-11-03
It has a lot of useful information on Word, Outlook and Windows XP. It usually always has the answer to any questions I have on these items. It is a great reference to have with our computers.
Invaluable Resource.......2006-06-29
This book has been every thing I had hoped it would be...an invaluable reference to have at one's elbow for quick help!

Anyone can conquer their computer with this book.......2007-07-13
When I started college as an older student I had never been on a computer. This book which is used as a textbook at my college was a lifesaver. You will learn the basics that are needed for college or for employment. I have to say the diagrams/photos that accompany every step are what puts this book above all others. If the pictures did not match what was on my computer I could go back and see what I needed to change. I work as a mentor for women in a non-profit program and use this book to teach them the skills they will need in the workplace. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to learn or to polish their computer skills.
horrible.......2007-01-10
I bought this book for a class I was taking and it arrived in bad shape.First, it took forever to get to me and it arrived all beat up. The book had water damage. It looked like it was through a flood or something. This made me hesitant on whether to buy any used books again.
NO DISK FOR CLASS.......2006-07-05
THIS TEXT BOOK DOES NOT COME WITH THE REQUIRED DISK FOR COMPLETING PROJECTS REQUIRED FOR THE COLLEGE CLASSROOM.
Confusing, and at times inaccurate.......2006-03-22
I used this book for an online class, books and test are bundled together and each time I took the test I had to challenge at lest one question, because it was simply wrong or inaccurate. Test quiz/test questions are non constructive for the most part. Many examples use non-standard fonts that hard to find, making assignments unnecessarily difficult to complete, in some exercises after following all instructions the correct result would not match the examples given again creating difficulty not needed. This books suited for online classes because it often gives instructions which are completely irrelevant in such environment. The books gives a good amount of tips and tricks about MS Office, books needs revising and grouping of lessons.
Excellent Reference.......2006-02-26
This reference book is a must have for anyone learning or needing the support for Windows 2003.

Best Step By Step Book for Access 2003 Beginners.......2007-01-06
As a business application user I started studying Access 2003 using a book titled "Sams Teach Yourself Microsoft Office Access 2003 in 24 Hours"; by Alison Balter. That book has a more conceptual approach and I felt I was taking too long to learn the fundamental steps of how to build a database with limited previous exposure to Access 2003. This book was very user friendly with less geek-speak and more graphics to show you how to achieve your database objectives in Access 2003. If you complete the exercises and then the challenge problems at the end of each chapter you'll quickly be the Access 2003 expert in a business administration setting. I highly recommend it for business application users before any another text book on Access 2003!
