Great Book.......2007-03-28
This book is an excellent read. It's an easy read and helped clarify some important concepts that the ISACA CISA manual could not. I would use this book to reinforce any terms and/or concepts one cannot grasp from the ISACA CISA manual. I passed the exam December 2007.
Questions.......2007-03-08
All topical based questions would have been separated from answers, it doesn't make sense to read the question while the answer is just displayed beneath.
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.......2006-12-10
The actual test and this book are poles apart. The book, practice questions and the simulated test makes you feel like you know what you need to know for the test. But the actual test is a lot different (I would not necessarily say "difficult"), but reading this book is almost a complete waste of time.
Save your money.......2006-12-09
I just came from the CISA course and i really depended on this book, i did extremely well in the book's and CD's exam.
The questions, alerts and cram sheets contain similar points, that makes you believe you can do well just by going through the cram sheet.
the actual exam was extremely different, i was really lost and had to guess allot of answers.
I'm awaiting for my marks, but i don't think i will pass :(
Very Limited.......2006-09-11
Short and simple, this book is a bad buy. It does not provide enough detail to answer the test questions. The test is extremely difficult and this book provides aid for only 10% of the test questions.

Not sufficient for Certification exam N10-003.......2007-08-19
This review is being written 8-18-2007 for Network+ Exam Cram 2 (2nd Edition). I just took and passed the exam a couple of days ago, and was not overly impressed with this book as a study guide. The two practice exams in the book were much easier than the real exam. The book covers Appletalk which was not mentioned in the exam at all. The exam had more coverage of Novell, especially interworking with Windows, and this topic was not adequately covered in the book. The exam had many troubleshooting problems, and the book did not provide enough practice or techniques in this area. My extensive networking experience in other areas, combined with this book, did help me pass the exam. A more comprehensive book would be better. The practice exams should be rewritten, since good results on them give the reader a false sense of security concerning the real exam.
Introduction to Networking.......2007-07-23
Exam Cram's original edition of Network + was my first literary introduction to networking.
I would recommend this book to anyone starting out in the network industry, or anyone who wants to brush up on the basics.
It covers the major principles of Networking & is a great book whether you plan on taking your Network + exam or not.
Well written, to the point.......2007-07-09
This book is nicely put together covering all the Network+ objectives, although briefly. If you have a background in Networking then this book itself should suffice to prepare you for exam. I was ready to face the exam after going through this book twice and measure up exam questions. Luckily I passed scoring 80% in first attempt. This book has everything that was in the exam, however you have to read it twice or more in order to fully prepare.
Well done.......2007-06-09
This book does not read like a text book, it is written in an easy to understand language. I wish I'd has this for my Network+ class, the textbook was worthless. It will be a good reference later.
Cram!.......2007-05-19
My test is only a few days away and I felt Ive learned a whole lot more then I have ever had.

It's good, but it's not great........2007-06-15
If you already pretty much know what you're doing, this is a good reference for preparing for the test. But you have to be able to overlook the issues like typos and wrong entries.
Have been using this for ten months, is perfect for my needs.......2007-05-11
I bought this book, not for the certification per se, but because I needed something that would help me get through some of the pieces of Solaris 10 that I needed help with.
This book does a great job, and really explains what I need to know to function as a system administrator. In fact, in my office most will pick up the book from my desk and search through it because they know that if the answer is in there it'll be easy to pick up and grasp quickly.
Kudos to Bill Calkins -- keep up the good work.
SCSA in TX.......2007-01-20
This book is more than just an excellent resource in order to pass the Solaris 10 SA exams, it is a great resource to manage your day-to-day Solaris machines. Thanks Bill!. I passed the 2nd exam today!
Excellent Guide and Reference.......2007-01-09
I passed the both exams using this book with flying colors, but then I have been doing Sun UNIX for 20 years. I can confidently say this is an excellent review book and even a good reference aside for using as a study guide. The CD exam had many questions that were on the test, amazing. But most important, not just passing the exam, the book provides an in depth understanding of Solaris 10. I have many of Bill Calkins books on this subject, different OS releases, and you can see he has evolved his book into an efficient concise guide for Solaris. There are plenty of review tables and step-by-step examples.
He does the best coverage of have seen on Rules file keywords for Jumpstart; you have to dig on the Sun site for such documentation. The book did lack enough content for Intel Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) and there were a number of questions on the exam (x86 Solaris) on this subject. However, you can't find material on x86 subject easily or in one place, so this is the best there is on x86 Solaris.
The book covers zones in just 20 pages and is complete. Step-by-step examples are provided for different configurations such as NIS, NFS, network interface, AutoFS (excellent explanation and step-by-step), jumpstart, logical volumes, zones, service management facility and its recovery, backup/restore including recovering the boot block, access control list (ACL) commands, etc. which can be used as a reference too. I also recommend the book for a trainee learning Solaris.
Excellent Study Guide.......2006-12-02
Im am an employee of Sun Microsystems and used this book as a primary study guide. It not only exceeded my expectations but it also contained everything I needed to take the 310-203 upgrade exam. I found it to be as good or better then the internal Sun training materials and helped me pass the test the first time around. Thanks again Bill

2007 Question batch more sophisticated........2007-07-21
A good book for introduction to Server + concepts, but is poorly edited for the test objectives. The book offers too little information on troubleshooting fault tolerance. The 2007 exam I took was far from the material covered in the 700+page book. The 300+ questions in this book were way to easy and simple than the ones you will face. Many of the questions on the real exam have more than 2 answers. Some questions had 5 answers! The questions resembled Microsoft style paragraph type questions. I got a heavy dose of RAID 1,0+1,1+0, and RAID 5. Multiple drive sizes and space requirement arithmetic questions! Many questions on "if you add this adapter..blah.blah..why can the PC boot after POST? Know NIC adapter teaming, upgrading adapters and definitely learn UPS! This book was very insufficient for detail and preparing you the real exam. The worst thing was the questions that came with the book--they are too easy. I study the material/book for about 1 month and a half. I also concentrated on SCSI, which I didn't get much of on the exam. I have some server experience.
I failed with a 580, needing 615.
I am already certified A+, Network+, Security+, and i-Net+. (Sybex is the best, but they don't make a Server+ book) I guess I will study older books and use Wikiopedia.
The test isn't hard, I just didn't use enough resources. I won't buy anything Exam Cram again.
This is yet another experience with Exam Cram. I failed using the EXAM CRAM series....I failed MCP 70-271 twice using Exam cram books. With Sybex, I pass the first time and always with a high score!
This book deserves 1 star to match the 2007 test.
An editor, my kingdom for an editor..........2007-01-22
The Exam Cram and Exam Cram 2 series are excellent sources for the information you need to pass your exams. THIS book has all of the relevant information that you will need to pass the exam. However, it's the worst laid out book I have ever seen. While it tried to conform to the usual format of the Exam Cram series. It fails in one very important aspect. The editing is nearly non-existent. The book covers a topic in one paragraph and then turns around and goes over the exact same subject again 2 paragraphs later. It looks to me as though when it was updated from the older version of the exam things were added and nothing was removed. Any editor looking at this book would have a kitten. As I have explained it to some of my friends, "they have problem repeating their repetition problem."
Server+ Certification Exam Cram 2 (Exam SKO-002).......2007-01-03
This book is very in-depth and provides you with the information needed to pass the Server+ Exam. I've never had any issues with any of the Exam Cram products.
The most error prone book I have ever read........2006-05-26
I am sure that most of the Exam Cram books are good. That being said, this book is so full of errors that it is almost unreadable. The claim that SQL servers have 30 disk drives in them, that SAN devices have dual 2.8 GHz procs with 4GB of RAM, or that GBICs have SC connectors is disappointing. But when it references the most common copper connection is the DB9, or in the study questions that DNS servers do not do name/IP resolution, we have now reached a point that using this book will actually hinder your progress.
I have quite a few fairly advanced network certs and have used this series before and the Exam Cram 2 series are fine books, just look to another source for this particular test.
Clear, concise, and to the point........2006-02-25
This book is a great study resource for the new Server+ Exam. I recommend it to anyone looking to take the test who needs a great study resource!!

Excellent resource for obtaining the Desktop certification. Will recommend this series to someone who is serious about becoming Microsoft certified for desktops. Thanks.
Helped me pass the exam.......2007-07-03
These books were easy to read. I loved the pullout fact sheets. I read through them just before the exams. I did both practice test in each book. I read the books cover to cover without confusion and I passed both exams on my first try.
XP Pro.......2007-01-03
These books are very good, and will help anyone who wants a Microsoft certification. Microsoft certifications help in obtaining high paying, quality jobs.
Good work for hte new exams........2004-09-22
Microsoft's release of the MCDST Certification has you taking 2 exams, 70-271 and 70-272.What you need is something to use as a final study tool and this set is just the right answer. What you have here is a fairly complete breakdown of the exam objective condensed for easy reading.
No technical manual is usually fun to read since the material is technical, however these 2 books are easy to follow and the reading level is set for the experience technician. Understand that manual(s) is a scaled down finer points set of text, and you will need other resources in order to pass the exam.
The 70-271 book was a little more informative and I found it had information that lapped over to the other exam. As with other EC2 manuals, there is the Cram sheet in front and the cd in the back. This set uses the Measure UP test engine, which could use a few updates and more questions as well as a way to up[date on the web.
Fixing the test engine is a minor draw back and this book should help in the final prep. Overall well put together and researched

Great Practice.......2007-05-21
I used this book along with books with from Syngress (Security + Study Guide and DVD Training System), McGraw-Hill (Security+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide), and Sybex (CompTIA Security+ Study Guide: Exam SY0-101 (Hardcover))and passed the exam with a score of 780. This book contained 773 practice questions that more close to the actual exam than any other study guide. The bottom line is that the more practice questions you are exposed to, the better off you are going to be.
Mixed opinions.......2007-02-08
Firstly, let me state it for anyone who is not familiar with exam cram books, this book is an abridged publication. It will not cut it as a primary learning tool in any respects. This in itself is a weakness, but generally with exam cram books this is expected.
With that in mind, I will try to give a fair rating to this book. I'll break it into two parts 1) Study guide & 2) test booklet
STUDY GUIDE -
A long time ago, I used an exam cram book to help me with the network+ exam. It did the job perfectly. The security+ test, however, is considered a mile wide and an inch deep. This little study guide simply doesn't have enough in it to cover ALL of the material (no book usually does, but the abridged format should've allowed it to), nor does it go enough into detail to sufficiently explain the topics it does cover the information. I know the book is abridged, but the subject matter is abridged to begin with. Instead of a "mile wide and an inch deep", this book is 3/4 of a mile wide and a half inch deep. To me, that doesn't make for a great source for even "cramming". I say this because the test involves actually understanding the materials rather than memorizing facts. I think it comes up short in this respect.
Question Book-
The book full of questions also gave some mixed results. It did a good job of providing unique questions for the entire subject matter of the test. I did not like how it announced what it was specifically asking a question about before it asked it. This happened A LOT. For instance before it started asking questions about "security policy", this is how it read:
4.5.2.1 SECURITY POLICY
Which of the following involves a broad policy set forth by management on how security should be handled?
a) Password policy
b) Security Policy
c) Procedures
d) Guidelines
You know exactly what the answer will be, long before finishing the question. It was even worse when this type of question was the ONLY question for the topic. That doesn't do you any good.
My second gripe was the accuracy of the answers. This was the third set of books I read on the subject, and some answers seemed to clash with what I read in the other books. Some parts did more to confuse me (due to the contradictory nature) than actually help me. Considering the other books I've read were Shon Harris' CISSP book and the security+ book by Greg White, I am going to have to guess that this was the book in error. Now don't get me wrong 90% of it was spot on accurate... so it did a decent job... but 5% was filled with "poor questions" where the questions were ambiguous, poorly worded or had grammar issues that were difficult to work through. An extra 5% were apparently wrong or contradictory to other information.
In conclusion, I'd say the books were moderately helpful in the end, but overall leave a lot to be desired. I would not rely on these books as the primary factor in passing the test. I think as a primary study guide you may want to use Security+ by gregory white, as well as CISSP all in one by Shon Harris (covers more material than needed for this test, but I'd say 80% overlaps with Security+). Whatever one book didn't cover, the other did. They are very accurate and thorough sources of information and are extremely good in helping people understand the material.
ABOUT THE TEST:
While people say that Security+ is an "entry level" security certification, people need to realize this isn't an entry level category. Security+ requires users to have a great deal of experience/knoweledge in the IT field, otherwise you probably will fail. I was very suprised when I started studying for this test. It covers a large spectrum of technology and applications and also goes enough into detail that you have to actually know and understand the technology and procedures involved. I have used this test as a steping stone for the CISSP (there is a LOT of overlapping), and I think it is well worth the effort.
Who needs to take this test? Well I'd reccommend it before taking the MCSE (it gives you credit towards a MCSE/MCSA requirement. It is also a great way to prepare towards a CISSP, the most accepted security certification. Really, it is like a more reasonable form of the CISSP being that it is widely available at testing centers and costs far less to take the test. I think this certification is dragged down because of the "easy" reputation of A+ and Network+, which truly are "entry level" tests. Anyone who wants to show security competence should take this test..
It worked, I passed. I dont know how but I did........2007-01-04
I dont know if its the subject or the book but this was hard to follow. When I took the CompTIA test it didn't seam like the same material; however, I did pass. (I always do self tests untill I get 90% then take the $250 real test). If your new to IT security look into Cysco's CSIIP test. Its a more highly valued Certification. I didn't take the exam yet but I'm getting the notion from employeers that security+ is not worth the time. (Im entry-level w/ A+, N+, S+)
What You Need to Pass the Test.......2006-12-01
This is not a book that is going to make you an expert on Security. Instead it is a book that prepares you to take the test.
The authors have studied the test,
they understand what the test makers consider important,
they have put together just the information that will be on the test,
they have created a series of practice questions which they then answer and explain their answers.
This is, of course, exactly what you need if you are just cramming to pass the exam. Even if you are experienced in computer security, there will be points in areas with which you are not familiar. This set of books makes sure that you cover all points that the test will cover.
This special package includes two books and and a CD. The two books are the book on the test, and a special Practice Questions book. The CD has 700+ questions, which are the same as in the book, so you have a choice in the way you want to study.
A great Buy.......2006-10-10
I passed SYO-101 today with 813 points thanks to this book and MOST importantly the 800+ questions on CD included with the Practice Questions Book. It is a great deal and well worth the money if you are considering taking the Security +

Customer Reviews:
OK but the SHRM materials are better.......2007-07-14
I bought this book as a more portable supplement to the SHRM materials as I studied for the SPHR, which I took in June 2007. While the book is pretty good and comprehensive, I thought it was a little brief in the depth it went on some areas. I felt like the SHRM materials gave me more to understand the concept from front to back, where this book sometimes gave me a term or case site then didn't expand it enough for me to understand it more than just a concept. It's pretty good in that it's portable so if you use your SHRM materials for when you have time to really buckle down and study, this is a good thing to take a long with you for when you have a few minutes to brush up on a module and read a chapter from the book. Also, it would be a good tool if after you've completed the SHRM materials, you went through this book to reinforce, but I wouldn't use it as a sole study souce. The disk that came with it was pretty much useless, the tests were horrible so I stopped using it pretty early. Overall though, it might have helped me because I passed!
Should not be your only source.......2007-06-03
The good news is book was well laid out with easy to understand information. The bad news is the typos and the incorrect test answers on the CD. I had to abandon this book and rely on the SHRM learning system as the incorrect answers on the CD test were compromising my learning. Accurate information is a key essential to passing the SPHR and if you are not well versed in HR this book and primarily the CD could compromise your ability to pass the test. I would only recommend this book to someone who was using it as a supplemental study guide or someone who knows HR inside and out.
SPHR Exam Prep: Senior Profesional in Human Resources.......2007-05-21
The book is very similar to that of Anne M. Bogardus book, PHR/SPR Professional in Human Resources Certification. The material in this book was good, but I did notice a few typos. The enclosed CD does not contain electronic flash cards like Anne Bogadus book, and you have to have access to a computer to take the final prep test online, but overall the book served its purpose!
Use this book to help you pass the test.......2007-02-01
I used this book to supplement a well known HR textbook, and was really pleased on how well it prepared me for the SPHR exam. This is a well-organized,well-written, and comprehensive study/reference guide for the HR professional. This book and my many years of HR experienced is all that I really needed to pass the SPHR exam. I bought another PHR/SPHR Professional in HR Certification Study Guide, but it was extremely poorly organized.
One minor drawback of the book: hopefully the editor will do a better job next edition catching typos and errors. Some of the answers on the study guide are incorrect - but there weren't that many - but still should be corrected.
You will want this book!.......2006-10-28
With 15 years of HR experience, having passed my PHR in 1997, taking a twelve week preparation course with 12 other HR professionals, and using the SHRM Learning System Materials, I still relied heavily on this book to help me pass my SPHR exam. This book focuses on the SPHR exam only, which is very different from the PHR. The SPHR is theory driven; it is not enough to know the meaning of terms, you need to know how to apply them. The exam questions in this book were very similar to many of the questions on the SPHR exam, more so than any other form of study materials I had available to me. I would highly recommend this book if you want to pass the SPHR exam!

This book is full of mistakes.......2007-06-15
Be careful with this book. It is loaded with errors. I have tried to contact the publisher but got no response. Some of the errors are blatant and some are not so obvious. For those with no prior financial knowledge, this book could mislead you and cause you to get some answers wrong on the test. I suspect the reason for the errors is because an updated edition was not fully proofread.
ExamCram - excellent addition to study materials.......2007-06-09
This book is not intended to be a comprehensive study guide to pass the Series 7 exam. My firm issued me the Pass Perfect suite of study materials. It is comprised of about 7 books for this test. Comparatively speaking in volume, the Exam Cram pales in comparison. However, I find myself reading it to get the authors' perspective on various concepts and he seems to explain them very well in the Exam Cram. A good use of money to have this book as a supplement or primer.
Buyer Beware: CD-Rom does not work with windows XP.......2007-05-31
And you won't know it until you get it. I was depending on those tests. The book is ok so far.
I passed using this as my only source of information........2007-01-07
Thanks alot for such a great guide.
Not current.......2006-09-21
While there is a great deal of information that is helpful, the 2006 edition is not current. Out of date information includes; IRA contribution levels and long term capital gains periods. Furthermore there are mistakes in several explanations of the exam questions. You definitely will need another resource that is current.
Believe the warning and disclaimer that the author and publisher give. Perhaps Amazon should include that on the sales information page.

Happy with my book purchase.......2007-05-16
I found this book very easy to read and full of great infornation. It broke down a lot of the topics so it was easier to understand than the required GA insurance class room book. The only draw back I found is that it will not give specific information on your State. Basically, I used this book to study for my exam and I passed the first time.
I had no problems with the CD and I do strongly recommend this book as a easy to comprehend study guide.
Under No Circumstances Should You Buy This Book!.......2007-03-30
Predicated upon the glowing description of the "Exam Cram Property and Casualty Insurance License Exam" test manual, I decided to purchase it to
augment other test guides in preparation for my upcoming Property/Casualty
Insurance Producer's exam.
I have no complaint with the book itself; with the exception of no state-specific material, it seems fairly comprehensive.
I do, however, have a serious complaint about the CD-ROM Exam Simulator
which is inoperable, based upon an evaluation generated by the CD itself,
indicating that all but one of the .dll files had not been loaded.
I contacted Pearson's (the publisher's) Customer Service department, and
was given several different options, one of which was to send (1) the original receipt from Amazon (fortunately, I made copies); (2) a Xerox of the back cover, showing the ISBN number; and (3) my name, address, and
phone number.
Trustingly, I sent these data, assuming Pearson would send me a fully-loaded CD-ROM which I could use on my computer.
Naturally, they did no such thing, instead, counselling me to "return the book to Amazon for a refund or an exchange." (I informed them that the fault lay with them - not Amazon - and exchanging the book might cause me to receive another CD-ROM that was equally defective.)
My last e-mail to them was March 26th; to date, I have not heard from Pearson, and probably never will.
I told them that it was foolish to incur the ill-will of a customer who
might have given them repeat business, but evidently, the customer's sensibilities (over a defective product) are of little moment to a publishing conglomerate.
I shall keep the book (because I need it), but the memory of their bad faith shall live on, in this negative review.
Take heed from my bad experience before you consider purchasing a book
with an Exam Simulator that can't be used - nor will the company have the graciousness, or the common sense, to replace.
Not Bad, but not very specific.......2007-02-07
This should not be your only study choice. It is a general guide, state laws are not taken into account.
Good but not all states included.......2006-09-24
The book is very helpful after wasting 40 hours in a class by a doddering old man with outdated material. However, was extremely disappointed to find out my state - GA - isn't one of the states included in the practice exams on CD. Neither is Calif., Fla., Okla. or Wisc. - so be forewarned. Also don't see info on the HO 2000, which my other exam CD has several questions about.
CD HAS UNREPORTED LIMITED USE &.......2005-10-31
BESIDES THE COMPANY BEING CHEAP AND LIMITING HOW MANY TIMES YOU CAN TAKE THE TEST (FLASH CARD INGESTING) YOU ARE NOT INFORMED OF THIS, TILL YOU OPEN AND USE THE CD. IMPORTANT CHAPTERS ON HOME OWNERS AND DWELLING ARE ILLOGICAL, CLUTTERED AND CONFUSING..AS ARE A FEW OTHERS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SOURCE FOR CONVIENCE IN LEARNING HAVING BOUGHT 2 OF THE COMPANIES BOOKS...BUT YES, IT IS CHEAPLY PRICED....VALUE???

With a new crop of Microsoft Windows servers comes a new assortment of related Microsoft exams. Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment for an MCSA Certified on Windows 2000 helps prepare you for the title exam by going through the exam's published objectives one by one, reviewing key concepts, facts, and procedures. As well, the book (and its accompanying CD-ROM) provide sample questions in the style of the exam. These come in handy for diagnostic purposes, and for visualizing the test day in advance. The only problem with the questions is that their answers appear (with discussion, to the credit of the authors) on the same page, making it hard to test yourself without sneaking a peek in advance.
Bruce Parrish and Kirk Hausman--under the supervision of Ed Tittel, who started the Exam Cram series--assume that you have either some relevant experience or a lab environment on which to practice. They point out key features of the environment they're teaching without wasting time on subjects that aren't covered on the exam, making this more of a guided tour of highlights than a comprehensive manual. They also assume that the reader is going for an upgrade, and so note how various aspects of Windows 2003 are different from similar parts of Windows 2000 (it's a "delta book," one that focuses on what's changed since the last version, in other words). When they include a procedure--how to set up a DNS server, for example--their style relies heavily on steps to follow, and usually has an illustration to reassure the reader that the right thing is appearing on-screen. --David Wall
Topics covered: The Microsoft-stated goals of the Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment for an MCSA Certified on Windows 2000 exam (70-292). These include Active Directory and its administration, network services like DNS and DHCP, security and access control, and administrative procedures such as backups.

Very Little Help.......2007-02-08
I passed many a test using the Exam Cram books, but this one was no help. It's more like a review and missing many details found on the test.
great basic coverage of all objectives.......2005-06-27
I failed this test twice, so I'm more familiar with the test than I wanted to be, and definitely in a position to say whether or not this book covers the material. Well, it depends on how you use the book. This test is fairly difficult. I base this on the fact that out of the 7 Microsoft exams I've taken previously, I had only ever failed one (the SQL Admin test) before. I think it *should* be hard, because it encompasses four other tests. That's the point of an upgrade test, right? Anyway, this book does not cover absolutely everything that you might encounter on the test. I doubt that there's a book that does. It even omits some things that I think should be included, like EMS and MBSA. However, it packs a lot of great material for each objective into only about 200 pages. I would certainly recommend doing other studying in conjunction with using this book (as does the author) but if you want a great overview, this book is very easy to read, has good coverage of a lot of the new 2003 features, such as the new command line tools, points you to other resources when you need additional information on a subject, and in many cases, puts the emphasis on exactly the right things.
Not enough!.......2005-05-25
Smartcards, IPSec, default SOA settings....all these subject matters as well as a bunch of others were not even addressed in this book! Yet, the 70-292 exam tested you on all of these.
I passed all of the Win2k exams using Exam Cram series books, and I always felt there was simply too much material in the books, and it was not necessary to read every page.
Now it's not nearly enough. They are well written, organized and accurate. However, fall way short. I, too, use the operating system, puchased a video, surf the net for subject matter, and I was still surprised on the exam.
I'm getting the feeling that Microsoft is pulling questions for the upgrade exams from the pool of questions of the 4 core exams. Hardly seems fair.
I don't have the time or the money to guess which book has which material and read all of it. I need one product that thoroughly prepares me for the exam, and not have to guess what is and is not on the exam.
Exam Cram does not accomplish this goal. Otherwise they should change their slogan to: "The Exam Cram Method of study focuses on SOME of what you need to get certified now." Not very punchy anymore, is it.
This book will not help to pass the test period........2004-06-02
I took the test today and I failed miserably. I am certified NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 MCSE. I thought the book was good but was off the mark to pass Microsoft test 70-292.
Once again, the Transcender tests are the only thing to use to pass the test. It is not the fault of the Exam Cram series but the way Microsoft writes the question. This test (70-292) was poorly written by Microsoft and some of the questions and choices were very confusing.
Lets redress the balance here........2004-03-27
Having used this book to good effect I too thought I should come back and redress the balnce in ratings on this book as others have done. There is nothing wrong here, don't use it as a single source make sure you read widely and have some hands on. The only cruel joke in these pages emerges from Denver.
