5 out of 5 stars Great tool for final exam preparation!.......2005-08-23

CCDA/CCDP Flash Cards and Exam Practice Pack won't teach you the concepts of network design, so it can't be compared to and won't replace a study guide. The only purpose of this book is to help you in finding weak areas and providing a summarization of all exam topics to aid you in your study.

I used it to prepare for the CCDA exam after reading the CCDA Self-Study Guide and Top-Down Network Design book. It served as a great preparation tool, especially the quick reference sheets which provided comprehensive information on all relevant topics. A little buggy but useful nonetheless were the Flash cards, they helped to memorize small but important facts which proved very useful during the exam. Without this book it would have been much harder to pass.

I'm really looking forward to use it throughout my CCDP study!

5 out of 5 stars Nice summary tool.......2005-03-20

Having just passed the CCDA DESIGN exam 640-861 and CCDP ARCH exam 642-871 within the period of one week, I found this book to be one of the more useful study tools. The ARCH exam is really an extension of the DESIGH exam...in fact the two tests share some of the same knowledge, so it's best to take them consecutively to cut down on your study time. The Flash Cards in this book relate directly to the Quick Reference Sheets and these Sheets are probably the most outstanding feature of this book. They do a great job of summarizing most of what you need to know to pass this exam. The study questions were great, too, at filling in small details that you will see on the exam. I want to stress that this was not the only study tool I used, but this book was outstanding for final test preparation. Highly recommended.

3 out of 5 stars Useful but PDA users beware.......2005-01-25

All in all I found this to be a good supplement to my other CCDA study material. It particularly was useful to skim though the cards prior to reading that topic (from another source) and then really quizzing yourself after finishing the chapter.

The quiz engine had a few mistakes but overall I found it quite useful.

However, when I installed the flash cards on my Sony Clie TH-55 it caused a fatal memory error that required a hard reset! It was a painful loss of data! After sending my clie back to Sony, they certified it OK, and when I tried to install the cards (a 2nd and 3rd time) it crashed again! Acckk!! I'm sure this is not common but back up your PDA before installing it!!!

I rate it 3 stars only because I bought it so I could study on the train with my PDA, and sadly cannot do so. (would be a 4 otherwise)

5 out of 5 stars Delivers on Its Promise.......2004-04-20

CCDA/CCDP Flash Cards and Exam Practice Pack by Anthony Sequeira and Kevin Wallace (Cisco Press 2004) delivers on what it promises: solid final preparation materials for the CCDA (DESIGN 640-861) and CCDP (ARCH 642-871) exams. If you have studied the basic exam material for these exams you are ready to burn in your knowledge using this book. For the CCDA, preliminary preparations means reading the CCDA Exam Certification Guide and/or the CCDA Self Study book for the DESIGN topics. Both of these are now available from Cisco Press. Unfortunately, there are no corresponding books for the ARCH topics, so you need to take a more creative course, such as perusing the SRND guides on Cisco's website for topics such as storage, wireless, VPN, content, and telephony, while keeping the exam objectives (listed on Cisco's website) in the back of your mind. Overall, I would rate this book a 5 (out of 5), with the strong caveat that it will be difficult to pass the exams unless you do a significant amount of outside research, especially in the case of CCDP ARCH.

In making the design track more relevant to the current networking scene, Cisco replaced (in 2003) the old CCDA course with one that focused much more on cogent design practices, such as identifying the technical and business goals and constraints put forth in Priscilla Oppenheimer's Top Down Network Design. They also dropped old technologies like IPX and AppleTalk and replaced these rarely used protocols with forward-looking material like IP telephony, modern security issues like IP spoofing and DDoS mitigation, and the enterprise composite network model, which further breaks down the familiar access, distribution, and core layers into an enterprise campus (which includes submodules for network management and the server), an enterprise edge (with separate internet connectivity and e-commerce modules, along with a remote access and WAN module), and a service provider edge.

Similarly, the CCDP ARCH course was upgraded (also in 2003), with a deeper focus on all of the above areas, and a much deeper treatment of QoS options for voice and data, specifics on multicast features such as sparse and dense mode operations and shared versus source distribution trees, details on the CiscoWorks network management tools including LAN Management Services and Routed WAN Management System, content caching, routing and switching, and storage essentials including NAS and SAN. In most cases the ARCH course drills deeper than the DESIGN course; in some, such as IP telephony, the DESIGN course seems to deal with the lower level issues (such as tip and ring) while ARCH deals with applications (such as Call Manager configurations including single-site, multisite, and clustering over the WAN).

The examples in CCDA/CCDP Flash Cards and Exam Practice Pack are very easy to understand and the flash cards follow the quick reference sheets quite faithfully. The illustrations are excellent and the practice questions (available on the accompanying CD-ROM) are highly relevant. The authors have delivered exactly what should be expected for this type of book; they are both certified Cisco Systems instructors with KnowledgeNet and clearly know their stuff.

By the time you're acing all the topics in the flash card book (when preparing for CCDP, I went back over CCDA), you're ready to make an educated guess on anything that isn't obvious. There were still a few surprises in the exam but this book definitely helped me muddle through. I would assume the CCDP ARCH will be an easier nut to crack when Cisco Press releases an exam certification guide, currently slated for November 2004.

5 out of 5 stars Great resource for my students.......2004-04-15

As a CCSI that teaches the DESGN course for the CCDA, I highly recommend this resource. It definitely gives students an edge going into the exam. It is very Exam-centric.

Every partner company of Cisco Systems needs a number of Cisco-certified people on its staff. While the basic Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) exam will satisfy basic Cisco requirements, the Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) indicates more rigorous training and greater capability. Job applicants with CCDAs will outshine CCNAs every time. CCDA Exam Certification Guide will help you earn your CCDA rating, obviously, but goes beyond mere test preparation by explaining the concepts that govern the behavior of Cisco data networking equipment. Look in this book--authorized by Cisco, and written with the help of a number of its employees--for the background material you need in order to make sense of product manuals and command-line help.

The authors begin each chapter with a quiz that's meant to gauge your understanding of a subject (IPv6 addressing, for instance) and thereby help you spend your study time wisely. A reader who commits to working through a particular chapter is first presented with increasingly detailed information, beginning with general concepts and theories and ending with specific product details and procedures, where they're applicable. Chapters end with quizzes that contain questions in the style of the exam, and the book's final 10 percent or so is devoted to case studies that illustrate how the CCDA techniques taught elsewhere might be put into practice. Overall, CCDA Exam Certification Guide comes across as a careful and comprehensive treatment of the published CCDA exam objectives, and a volume that will reward diligent study. --David Wall

Topics covered: The subjects covered on the Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) exam (640-861). These include design methodologies, LAN and WAN design principles, addressing and routing, and integrated security.

Book Description

The official test preparation guide for the CCDA 640-861 DESGN exam

The first step in the Cisco Systems certification networking design track, CCDA (Cisco Certified Design Associate) certification requires that a candidate pass the CCDA 640-861 DESGN exam. CCDAs have the skills needed to determine customer requirements for security, scalability, and network management; design a network structure that meets customers' needs; identify how to build a network prototype; and link Cisco's products in an end-to-end manner.

CCDA Exam Certification Guide (CCDA Self-Study), Second Edition is designed for professional networkers and students who are pursuing CCDA certification. As such, the book will cover all the exam topics upon which candidates will be tested in this new version of the CCDA exam. Each chapter uses all the necessary components to help a reader prepare for the exam, including "Do I Know this Already" quizzes that assess knowledge; Foundation Summary sections that highlight essential concepts; exam topic lists for easy reference; and end-of-chapter review questions. The final chapter in the book contains scenarios that help readers prepare for the exam.

A companion CD-ROM contains more than 200 questions intended to provide testing preparation and feedback on areas for further study.

4 out of 5 stars Great title capable to help you pass your CCDA exam.......2007-09-18

The Cisco CCDA is a highly respected Cisco certification, although not as popular as the CCNA. The CCDA certification was created by Cisco for professionals seeking the path of a network designer.

As one would expect, Cisco Press comes to provide another fine title that will help any CCDA candidate succeed in their path to conquer the exam. While there are quite a few study guides out there promising to help you, this is perhaps the only one written by Cisco CCIE's with more than 10 years of experience.

The book is populated with around about 650 pages and 20 chapters full of great information and material that will surely cover beyond the CCDA exam needs. Of course, as with every Cisco Press title, the book is decorated with a very nice hard cover and the well known white-dark green colour combinations.

At the back of the book, you'll be happy to find a CDROM containing more than 200 practice questions for the CCDA exam and the full text in electronic format so you can carry it with you wherever you might be.

Neatly organised, the chapters are broken down into 5 main groups of which each one covers a specific range of topics related to each other:

Group 1: General Network Design

Group 2: LAN and WAN Design

Group 3: The Internet Protocol and Routing Protocols

Group 4: Security, Convergence, and Network Management

Group 5: Comprehensive Scenarios

What really amazed me is that each topic discussed contains numerous examples and adequate diagrams to ensure the reader understands what its talking about. Various questions that might popup are answered in most cases, proving that the content has been thourghly reviewed so no gaps are left.

The authors tone through out the book is comfortable and helps the reading process no matter how long a chapter might be. At the end of each chapter, you'll find the helpful `Foundation Summary' that will help you quickly revise the key points on the chapter you've read and then comes the great Q&A section which consists of around 20-25 questions to test yourself on.

Overall, I admit the book has left a very positive impression. Easy to read and follow with plenty of examples, questions and answers to help you get through the CCDA experience.

If you believe that a book is a good companion for your professional success, then this one will surely become one of your favourite!

A well earned 4/5 without hesitation!

1 out of 5 stars Want to pass the CCDA exam? Buy another book........2006-11-18

I'm a big fan of Cisco Press material, which I bought to prepare the CCNA exam. I used this book for the CCDA exam and did not come even close to the passing score.

There's so much problems with that book, I don't know where to start. Its biggest issue is that it misses several key exam topics. Usually Cisco Press offers up-to-date complementary material to download from their web site. That's not the case here.

There are more issues. It's poorly written, so you get frustrated reading it and trying to figure out what the author really meant. Many sections are repetitive and some facts are simply incorrect.

I'll buy the other Cisco Press book - Diane Teare's DESGN - to get ready to repeat the exam. I believe that Cisco Press should simply no longer offer this book, stick to a single title for the CCDA and most importantly, keep it up to date.

3 out of 5 stars Good for reference but not passing the test (640-861).......2006-06-15

Although it contains useful information but does not come close to covering the exam objectives. The new CCDA exam (640-861) tests extensively on design and other topics such as VoIP and IPv6. I read the book cover to cover, went through all the questions at the end, covered the scenarios, but all that prep just wans't enough to cut the mustard.

Having said that, I would say at least an order of magnitude better than Lammle-Brkl book by Sybex press. That was a complete waste of some unfortunate tree.

Going with Self Study guide and Top Down design by Cisco press. Use the Exam Cert Guide as a reference but don't rely on it to pass the CCDA test.

1 out of 5 stars This book and the exam cover different material.......2006-05-22

There's a lot of interesting material in this book. It does a good job covering different LAN and WAN technologies, routing protocols and voice over IP technologies. The problem is that it doesn't cover the same material as the exam. I read this book cover to cover and studied until I knew the answers to all of the review questions in the book and on the CD. Then I went and took the test. I was very surprised by the material covered on the test, because it wasn't what I had studied at all.

1 out of 5 stars Completely outdated.......2006-04-05

The exam has been significantly updated while the resources for it have not. This book is seriously out-of-date compared to the exam, and the exam is the reason you are looking at this book, right?

I recommend you look elsewhere to pass the exam.

3 out of 5 stars Needs improvement.......2007-09-25

I spent a month pouring over this book in detail. It could use some improvement, starting in the very beginning. The first chapter introduces the concepts of SONA, IIN, and PPDIOO. For the CCDA test, learn about applying the SONA framework to achieve IIN. I'm not making this up. Study PPDIOO and the Cisco suggested steps for each of these letters. Does any of this have any value in the real world? No, but too bad. It's on the CCDA test and I'll bet a committee of Cisco engineers are sitting in an office in California someplace laughing about all this.

Thankfully, the book only spends the first chapter on this stuff. The 2nd chapter introduces a bunch of network models. I remember the old days - was it only 7 years ago - when Cisco networks had a core, distribution, and access layer. It was a nice way to organize which services went where. I could deal with that. Today, that simple, hierarchical model seems so simple and quaint. Today, Cisco gives us the Enterprise Campus Model with layers and modules all over the place. This new and much more complex model might even have some real value, but the book is inconsistent and confusing in how it treats it. The pictures seem to change and the names of the layers and sublayers and modules are inconsistent or don't make sense. Why in the world is the enterprise data center a remote module in the diagram on page 43? Some text on page 51 explains that the enterprise data center is really an offsite disaster recovery site. Sheesh - come on guys!

After the first 2 chapters and 65 pages, we get into some real meat. There are chapters about LAN and WAN design, wireless, routing protocols, management, security, VOIP, and a host of other topics. But keep that Enterprise Campus model in mind because lots of subsequent chapters refer to it. And stay adaptable because the layers and modules and submodules seem to change from chapter to chapter.

Of course, the CCDA test has questions about the Enterprise Campus model. It will be up to you to figure it out, based on the treatment in this book and any Cisco articles you can get your hands on. I hear more laughter coming from Cisco. In fairness, the Enterprise Campus model seems like an attempt to put a unified architectural framework around today's increasingly complex and diverse networks. Perhaps the world is becoming too complex to model this way.

Some of the book is downright misleading. Here is a quote from page 406. This is in chapter 12, about BGP, and the context is about redistributing routes:

"When redistributing routes into OSPF, use the subnets keyword to permit subnetted routes to be received. If you do not use it, only the major network route is redistributed, without any subnetworks. In other words, OSPF performs automatic summarization to IP classful network values."

There are test questions about classless and classful route summarization, and the above paragraph is misleading at best. For the CCDA test, dig into route summarization using other sources.

The VOIP treatment also needs work. Page 528 has a huge table about bandwidth requirements for various codec techniques ranging from G.711 thru G.729. And the paragraph immediately below the table points the reader to a tool on the Cisco website to calculate bandwidth. It would be nice if the link was easy to use. Instead, the Cisco website takes you through a torturous login sequence before finally granting access to the tool. It turns out, the Internet is filled with tools to calculate bandwidth needs for various codecs. It also turns out that the CCDA test has questions about VOIP bandwidth usage.

It occurred to me that since tools are out there to calculate bandwidth needs, I should not have to memorize this huge table for the CCDA test. I should be able to calculate it. Learning one formula should be less work and more value than memorizing a 70 cell table, right? Unfortunately, the CCDA book is no help here. You can find a great writeup on calculating VOIP bandwidth in this book: Authorized Self-Study Guide, Cisco Voice over IP (CVoice), by Kevin Wallace, Copyright 2007, Cisco Press. Look on page 241. Study the text in Wallace's book leading up to the formula on page 241 and this will serve you well on the CCDA test.

The CCDA book has typos throughout the text. The book also comes with a CD with 200+ test simulation questions. I did not count up all the questions with typos but I'll bet around 10 percent of the questions have problems. For example, one question has no correct answer, although the explanatory text gives a narrative with the answers. Other multiple choice questions have the wrong letters but correct text for answers.

The CCDA test itself is just plain nasty. Some of the questions are opinion questions, so make sure your opinion matches that of Cisco - at least while you're sitting in front of a computer in the test room. Is this fair? No, but too bad. Cisco has the gold and makes the rules. At least one test question has a blatant typo, so watch out for that. Nearly all the questions are worded in such a way to confuse the test taker. Many questions force you to examine consequences of design choices, so memorizing facts is not good enough.

I can see a committee of Cisco engineers sitting around a table dreaming up confusing questions and laughing about it. It must be nice to have power - enjoy it while it lasts.

Bottom line - does this book prepare you for the CCDA test? It doesn't have everything you need but it certainly helps. It isn't perfect but may be the best prep tool available. I would not have passed without it. Go through the questions at the end of each chapter several times, until you can answer every single question in your sleep. Also install the CD and go through those questions several times. Know them cold.

One final piece of advice. Get mad. The Cisco guys are laughing at you. They want you to fail. If you want to pass this test, you must want to succeed more than they want you to fail. Get mad, bear down, and beat these guys.

2 out of 5 stars Could use a proof reader or better writers.......2007-09-19

I am currently utilizing this book for a study group. Some members have Cisco experience. We are finding typos and errors in every chapter. The errors include incorrect answers to Q and A. For example Chapter 6 question 28. The answer key on page 597 is wrong. For a company that puts so much value in Certification Testing they need better writers and quality control.

5 out of 5 stars Just what you need.......2007-07-30

Ahh, it's been so long since I studyed the CCNA book. I remember how alien a lot of concepts were to me and how I still use them today. So I got into a false sense of security that I'd know most of this already. However there are some revolutionary concepts in there and rather than find it boring - i'm actually quite stimulated by it. The book is well structured and written so far and i'm finding I'm remembering and using some of the techniques in the workplace already.

Haven't gone for the exam (or finished the book) yet but it's on the cards shortly. I'll come back and update

5 out of 5 stars This book did it for me!.......2003-08-30

I used this book to pass the 640-441 exam. What more can I say? I read it from cover to cover and it gave me what I needed to pass the test!

2 out of 5 stars They Could Have Been More Organized..........2003-03-18

This book contains a lot of information obviously written by a group of people who didn't talk to each other. Most of the information is repeated several times. Content is very disorganized. Most other Cisco Press Certification Books are much better organized. On a positive note, the CD Rom is VERY helpful. (Note that as of this date (Mar 2003) the test 640-441 has been retired and replaced by 640-861.)

1 out of 5 stars This book is no good for the new CCDA Test.......2003-03-09

I just bought this book. But the book was written for the 640-441 and you can't take that test anymore, they discountinued that test 3 days ago!! I get to the test and now the CCDA test is 640-861 and I was not told that the test was changed!! They sold me this book for a discountinued test!! Half the questions were on material not covered at all in this book such as IPV6 and VoIP. They should not be selling this book any more if the test is not given. I want my money back!! It i confusing to get a book for the CCDA test that is useless.

3 out of 5 stars Good Book for those with EXPERIENCE........2002-09-04

This book provides a very good overview of the tasks involved with designing a network. It is well laid out and very concise. Over half of the book, however, is dedicated to appendices that do little more than provide a small refresh of past exam (CCNP path) topics.

If you are thinking about buying the book, reading it, and then heading to the exam without a course AND you have almost no networking experience, then I'd say to save your money. Buy a book that goes into greater detail in terms of networking and network protocols. This book will help you answer all the case study study questions, and is excellent teaching the theory behind network creation, but it will do nothing to aid you in answering any of the number of protocol based questions or routing questions or connectivity questions that are a part of the DCN exam.

About 60% of the exam is covered by this book, the rest of the exam dealt with the above issues that I was able to answer with my experience in networking. If you have 3-4 years of solid network experience and have your CCNP designation, then this book should provide a quick and dirty solution to your exam needs (no course required).

5 out of 5 stars It's a Guide not a Wizard.......2002-05-07

Excellent guide, but you'll need the classroom course and hours of studying...It's not a wizard like some people think, you have to analyse because the exam uses cases and several questions about each case, it's not just memorize steps and if you are preparing for the CCNA too, it is better.
The CdRom include a simulation test...believe it or not, I found some equal questions in the exam. I passed because I had patience to read and understood each case in the exam even I don't speak english.

4 out of 5 stars CCDA in three weeks.......2003-03-06

...this test [is out of date] but you can buy this book really cheap and it will help you when you take the new test. You should read more than just this book. I...passed on my first attempt. You will need to do lots of reading and you must FULLY understand the material to have a chance at this one. Lots of case studies and this is what makes it a tough test. Good luck

4 out of 5 stars Author could probably chopped off several hundred pages.......2001-12-18

Overall, the aurthor wrote the book with heart--really wanting the readers to understand. However, as reviewers before me stated, it could be more organized. I found myself reading the same subject several times in different chapters. I also think it could be more concise/compressed, thus easily removing several hundred pages if author really wanted to. I had to carry that heavy book with me for three weeks while reading it to and from work. Believe me, it gets heavy after carrying an 800-page book for a while during commmute.

The book itself probably won't help much with the case studies presented on the exam. As a matter of fact, I don't think any book will help with the Cisco's case studies. For the non-case study questions, I think the book will help readers to pass the exam. The "2-minute" drill at the end of each chapter is great in reading over several times the day before taking the exam. I don't think the Q&As at the end of each chapter reflect much of what was on the exam.

2 out of 5 stars Very bad organisation, practice questions not helpful.......2001-05-20

There is a wealth of information in this book, but it is all over the place; organisation of chapters according to certification objectives leads to much repetition. Rather than waste your time trying to sort it out, my advice is to use some other text instead. Furthermore, there are not many practice questions based on design scenarios in the CD-ROM, and a few are simply silly e.g. "Ethernet was invented by whom?". I must say that I am really impressed by those reviewers new to networking who used this book and passed on their first try.

If you really must use this book, it will be good to brush up your knowledge of networking protocols and Cisco equipment elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars I Passed that is what counts.......2001-05-08

I passed the test. This is the only book I used to pass the test. I read the book twice, reviewed it once and I used ciscos web site to fill in all holes not cover in the book. (I am an excellent test taker with MIS degree). good luck

4 out of 5 stars Very detailed book to form a foundation for the CCDA exam........2001-02-23

I read this book as well as the Sybex book and passed the exam the very first time. I passed with a score of 834; passing was 755. Unlike the most of the other Cisco exams, this exam has remained the same. (It has not changed as some would have you think.) I am not working in the field (yet), and I have very little networking experience, but I passed by taking good notes and reading carefully. The exam is very difficult, but by using this book and one other source, you should have no problems.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money.......2002-08-26

While the book covers legitimate technology, it does not cover anything in sufficient depth. Additionally, there are numerous topics totally irrelevant to the subject matter being tested. Buy another book.............

2 out of 5 stars Not up to standard yet.......2002-01-19

I have read a lot of certification books in the past and I have to say that this does not quite do the job. The book falls short on informing you correctly about the Cisco product line (left out a lot of products) and you will miss a lot of the paperwork and planning questions on the CCDA test. I found the book to be an easy read, but it is not up to the standard that I have found with other Lammel books. I also did not like, not having the free PDA flash card software that was in Lammel's CCNA book. All and all, this book will inform you, but you will still need greater detail into Cisco product placement, Cisco's planning model and Cisco's paperwork processes.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome little book... quick and easy.........2001-04-14

I think the key to passing the CCDA is to take it shortly after the CCNA. Within a month if possible. It's not a difficult test, and this is the primary book I used to prepare. The book is well written and well worth the money. It's a breeze to read and prepares you with the all of the concepts that you will need to pass the test.

My only complaint is that the book does not address the structure of the test very well. The CCDA is unlike any other test I have ever taken, following various fictitious companies throughout the exam. The book prepares you to answer the questions quite well, but it does not prepare you for the structure of the test. But all in all I highly recommend this book. It's very well laid out and easy to read and absorb. If you have any actual experience with Cisco equipment this book will definitely help with test.

Some people writing reviews here would have you believe that purchasing every Cisco Press title on the CCDA exam and DCN is required to pass the test. Well, its not. Just because they like to waste time and money should be of no concern to you, and just because they lack the skills and competency to get it done right is also not your concern. This book is a great reference, and I highly recommend it. I do think using the Cisco Press CCDA Exam Certification book is not a bad idea, but ONLY for the case studies. All I used was this book, and the case studies in the Cisco Press book and it was a pretty easy test.

2 out of 5 stars I passed - but BARELY........2001-03-11

1/3 of my exam included questions about advanced technologies that are either not mentioned or barely discussed in this book. Nothing in this book prepares you for the structure of the test either - particularly for the case study questions. I give it 2 stars because it, along with my CCNA and a couple of years experience, helped me pass the test. However, if I had it to do over, I would have gotten Cisco's DCN book - and a more respectable passing score.

1 out of 5 stars Not good.......2001-01-03

This book does not have the neccessary information for someone to pass the CCDA. If someone is not familiar with general networking design guidelines, than this book is a adequate source to start with. If one wants to get a good score, it is very important to have a very broad knowledge of many networking technologies. I did pass the CCDA, but it was not because of any information in this book.

5 out of 5 stars **I passed the CCDA today and this book did it**.......2000-07-14

I used this book only for my study for the CCDA, and found it to be quite exceptional. It covered all of the areas that are on the test. The ideas, protocols and terminology are well explained and the scenario Case Studies at the end are simply AWESOME! The practice tests on CD are great too with a lot of what I found on the exam itself. I spent about two weeks reading it and another two on the CD. It really wasn't that difficult. This is my first Cisco certification and I hope the others are as easy as this one was! Get this book and get certified, it's that simple.

5 out of 5 stars Great book, All I needed to pass........2000-06-15

This was a real cool book about networks and their design. Lot's of great info about protocols, devices, WAN's and how to plan and diagram a first class network. I bought it because I wanted the Beachfront Quizzer CD but found the book to be equally as good. I was also relieved when I found the exam scenarios weren't far off from the case studies in the book. I passed with time to spare. This book is all I used. If you want a Cisco cert, this books all you'll need.
