Book Description
Sales of wireless LANs to home users and small businesses will soar this year, with products using IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) technology leading the way, according to a report by Cahners research. Worldwide, consumers will buy 7.3 million wireless LAN nodes--which include client and network hub devices--up from about 4 million last year. This third book in the "HACKING" series from Syngress is written by the SoCalFreeNet Wireless Users Group and will cover 802.11a/b/g (Wi-Fi) projects teaching these millions of Wi-Fi users how to "mod" and "hack" Wi-Fi access points, network cards, and antennas to run various Linux distributions and create robust Wi-Fi networks.
Cahners predicts that wireless LANs next year will gain on Ethernet as the most popular home network technology. Consumers will hook up 10.9 million Ethernet nodes and 7.3 million wireless out of a total of 14.4 million home LAN nodes shipped. This book will show Wi-Fi enthusiasts and consumers of Wi-Fi LANs who want to modify their Wi-Fi hardware how to build and deploy homebrew Wi-Fi networks, both large and small.
* Wireless LANs next year will gain on Ethernet as the most popular home network technology. Consumers will hook up 10.9 million Ethernet nodes and 7.3 million wireless clients out of a total of 14.4 million home LAN nodes shipped.
* This book will use a series of detailed, inter-related projects to teach readers how to modify their Wi-Fi hardware to increase power and performance to match that of far more expensive enterprise networking products. Also features hacks to allow mobile laptop users to actively seek wireless connections everywhere they go!
* The authors are all members of the San Diego Wireless Users Group, which is famous for building some of the most innovative and powerful "home brew" Wi-Fi networks in the world.
Customer Reviews:
Left wanting.......2006-01-12
Lee Barkens book was a major dissappointment. The overall content lacks the descriptiveness one would expect from a book of its title. The reader is lead down an overly linear path of chaotic instruction, devoid of any explanation as to why the chosen method is presented. Wireless Hacking is lacking of any alternative solutions which might highlight or better suit the readers specific needs.
Left with no wiggle room, the reader is lead to believe that the methods presented are the best and only available, which is frequently false and completely misrepresented.
My advice is, spend your money elsewhere. There are far better resources available than what Lee Barken provides.
Just right for me!.......2005-09-30
This book sets out to educate, inspire and be a resource for building community wireless networks. For me the book lives up to my expectations. When dealing with the elements of building a wireless networks, some topics are difficult to get clear information on. Configuring m0n0wall is a good example. Try looking in the forums!
The step by step guides on specific hardware and specific releases of software may make it difficult to keep the book current but has infinitely more value to me than any attempt at a generic explanation. To illustrate this point, it is a long road to install Cacti as a network monitoring tool. You have to install Apache, PHP, Perl, RRD and Mysql before you can even start. I would never have made it, but Michael Mee's step by step guide made it a snap. Some of the software had been upgraded since the book was written but you could choose the same release as in the book. However, I found that the methodology in the book made it sufficiently clear that I could use the latest release in each case.
The fact that the book has many contributors means that each chapter is written by an expert in that particular field. These people have done it and are sharing it to the best of their ability.
There are many photographs and screen shots to make comprehension easier.
If you are interested in WiFi you should have this book on you bookshelf or closer. The word hacking in the title gives me that same feeling as when I am being followed by a State Cop! However, I suppose that others will feel different.
I hope the contributors and editor will endeavor to keep the book up to date as hardware and software evolves.
great book with great ideas.......2005-08-17
I have been wanting to build a community wireless network for a long time now, but digging through google and looking for books turned out to be difficult to find someone else doing something like me, until I found this book. Read the first 30 pages of it in the bookstore and I was hooked, I had to have it. The only problem I see with it is that they seem to do things in a cookie cutter way allowing little flexablity (the 802.11a backhaul is a good idea, but there are other ways than using hardware that is no longer being made and having to do cheap 'hacks' to get things going. I guess thats why it is called wireless 'hacking'. It assumes a good deal of prior knowledge, which for me is great since I am familiar with vi and unix, etc. but a newbie might be a bit confused. They should have made it a bit more friendly for newbies, at times I felt the whole book was somewhat of a hack, like they rushed to throw something together that people could use since nothing else exists like this book. They also seem to focus too much on configuring windows stuff which I find annoying since I use OS X/Linux. Many times it felt like hey were reading my mind, everything I have wanted to do for years, they did. It is a wee bit overpriced though, I would say it's worth $20-25.
The title is somewhat deceptive..........2005-02-13
If you're highly interested in hacking together wi-fi networks and such, you'll probably enjoy Wireless Hacking Projects for Wi-Fi Enthusiasts by Lee Barken and the SoCalFreeNet.org Wireless Users Group. I personally had hoped for something a little different, however...
Chapter list: A Brief Overview of the Wireless World; SoCalFreeNet.org: Building Large Scale Community Wireless Networks; Securing Our Wireless Community; Wireless Access Points; Wireless Client Access Devices; Wireless Operating Systems; Monitoring Your Network; Low-Cost Commercial Options; Mesh Networking; Antennas; Building Outdoor Enclosures and Antenna Masts; Solar-Powered Access Points and Repeaters; Wireless 802.11 Hacks; Index
OK, to be fair, there's a lot of technical information in this book. SoCalFreeNet.org is a group committed to building community access wireless networks in order to offer free wireless coverage for everyone in the range of the network. They go into great detail on the hardware to use, how to configure it, the reason for setting up an access portal, building a firewall for the network, and so on. If this is your interest or if you're interested in starting this type of a network in your area, I don't think there's another book out there that would help as much.
Having said that, I'd probably be a little less harsh if the book had been titled How To Build A Community Wireless Network Based On The SoCalFreeNet.org Model. Someone who is looking to play around with wi-fi in their own house, build cantennas, or possibly control devices over the wireless network will have to dig hard in the book to find what they are looking for. The information is there, but it seems to be secondary to the primary purpose (or what I perceive it to be), which is to spread wireless access to the masses.
So, depending on what you're looking for, this may or may not be a good match for you. I was expecting something different from the title and cover, and was somewhat disappointed...

Cisco Wireless LAN Security is an in-depth guide to wireless LAN technology and security, introducing the key aspects of 802.11 security by illustrating major wireless LAN (WLAN) standards that can protect the entire network. Because a WLAN is less effective as an isolated piece of the network, this book emphasizes how to effectively integrate WLAN devices into the wired network while maintaining maximum security.
Cisco Wireless LAN Security covers the spectrum of WLAN security, including protocols and specifications, vulnerabilities and threats, and, especially, deployment patterns and design guidelines. With a unique combination of theory and practice, this book addresses fundamental wireless concepts, such as WEP, and innovations, such as EAP, switching, and management. Each chapter includes detailed illustrations, checklists, design templates, and other resources. You will also find generic wireless deployment patterns based on real-world customer installations and functional examples of architecture, design, and best practices.
Whether you currently design, configure, implement, and maintain WLANs or simply want to explore wireless security issues, Cisco Wireless LAN Security has everything you need to understand how to create a seamlessly secure, impenetrable 802.11 network.
This book is part of the Networking Technology Series from Cisco Press, which offers networking professionals valuable information for constructing efficient networks, understanding new technologies, and building successful careers.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent Resource for Any WLAN Administrators.......2006-06-19
The four authors of Cisco Wireless LAN Security do an excellent job of striking a balance between writing concise enough that the book is not overwhelming, but detailed enough for the reader to truly understand the subject matter. Not an easy task.
The book is titled Cisco Wireless LAN Security, which might actually make some people shy away from it, but the Cisco part is a bit of a misnomer. Some of the information and examples are Cisco-centric, but the majority of the information in the book is vendor-neutral and should be understood and applied on just about any wireless network.
The beginning chapters provide an excellent framework for those new to wireless LAN technology, but it quickly moves beyond that to much deeper and more complex subjects within wireless LAN security.
The discussion of wireless vulnerabilities and on wireless security techniques helps you gain an understanding that you can take away from the book and apply to your unique situation. The configuration samples and examples throughout the book are excellent.
I don't recommend that someone new to wireless networks pick this up, but anyone tasked with protecting or securing a wireless LAN should definitely use this book as a resource.
how to bolt down your wireless LAN.......2006-05-30
The title explicitly says Cisco, and indeed there is a lot of material enclosed that is specific to how Cisco implements its wireless routers. But you could plausibly also use this book as a good guideline to general purpose wireless security.
The authors have gone to some length to explain the general principles of 802.11*. In and of itself, this will be useful to some readers, for 802.11 is now a huge set of complex standards. With the official documentation being quite turgid prose, though necessary of course. For clarity, this book is a good and far more understandable alternative.
The text also goes into associated topics, like the encryption protocols associated with 802.11. Plus, and this is important, it describes third party, often open source, tools that can be used to sniff for insecure networks. Tools like Kismet or Wellenreiter, where the latter is meant for wardriving. One of the first things you should do is download and use one of these tools [or even several of them] against your wireless net, if it is already running. Better that you discover any weaknesses in it, than others do so.
Great addition to the official CWSP study guide.......2006-03-29
For many people, it is very difficult to get your hands on enterprise-class wireless equipment to prepare for the CWNA and CWSP exams. The good news it, this book gives you a "virtual" experience with Cisco hardware capabilities. However, don't let the title fool you, this is a great reference on wireless security in general. The most "Cisco-specific" chapter is chapter 9, "SWAN: End-to-End Security Deployment" and this chapter is only 20 pages long.
Even if you're not planning to sit the CWSP exam, I would have this book and the official CWSP study guide by McGraw-Hill sitting on my shelf. These are definately 5-star books.
Title may be misleading... .......2005-10-10
OK, the title does indeed tell a great deal about this particular book: However, the "Cisco" tag may be misleading. Cisco WLAN Equipment and even some terminology is used throughout this text. With a Vendor's badge on the cover and name in the title it prepared me for an extremely biased volume of configurations and presentations on Cisco specific technology. This text greatly exceeded a book with that good but narrower approach. A great plus of this particular text is the detail it provides on technology and design criteria which is applicable to WLAN security regardless of technology vendor. It has taken the place of my best vendor agnostic text as the first reference I grab.
Kirshna, Sri, Andrew, and Darrin have delivered the subtitle "Expert guidance for securing your 802.11 networks" in 13 chapters. Vast majority of their 395 pages of text and diagrams are not only applicable but extremely valuable to anyone charged with designing, implementing, and administrating WLANs in today's security conscious environment.
Guidance on secure WLAN design is far more than delivery of some cookie cutter equipment configs. The authors obviously recognized this and exceeded this reader's expectation. Their guidance was achieved by delivering sufficient detail on all the technologies and interdependencies that are required to deliver WLAN Security. They did not pave a single configuration which would have had too narrow an audience. They provided the foundation which enables, even seasoned WLAN engineers, to deliver for a wide variety of business requirements.
My copy has loads of dog-eared pages. Those pages mark specific paragraphs which have been very valuable in customer and support organization presentations.
If you're interested in designing secure WLAN which fits your customer's needs and performs well.
Then, you should pick up a copy of this text.
I'm looking for an update from these guys which includes some of the additional features and functions available in the latest "Cisco" WLAN technologies from both Aironet and Airespace teams.
Great book for a WLAN designer, implementor, operator, or manager of any of those resources.
Good treatment of the topic on Wireless LAN Security.......2005-07-21
The title is definitely in alignment with the content. A basic-to-intermediate discussion of security, as it applies to wireless LANs, is presented in this book. When I completed the book, I certainly had a much better understanding of wireless LAN security fundamentals - both generically and with a Cisco slant. The book has contributions from 4 persons, which may explain the healthy perspective given to the subject of wireless LAN security.
I know the number of chapters of a book can't always tell much of the story, but in the case of the 13 chapters contained in this book - spread out over almost 400 pages - I immediately felt that no single chapter would contain an amount of information that may be overwhelming as far as being able to retain my focus. The 2 final chapters comprised the greatest number of pages for any single chapter, and rightfully so. It would have been a compromise of the completion of the overall material to have limited the number of pages involving configuration examples and deployment scenarios.
I really appreciated chapter 2. This chapter was titled "Basic Security Mechanics and Mechanisms", and the content was just as the title suggested. The subject matter discussed security without any connection to wireless LANs. With "Security" being a complete topic all by itself, it was beneficial to have a little introduction to some generic security fundamentals before blending this topic with wireless networking. If the subject of computer/network security is not your forte, then you'll be served well with this brief exposure.
Chapters 3 and 4 were a welcomed addition because they provided a "warm-up" to wireless networking. The authors, in my opinion, did a very good job in not assuming that the reader would be a seasoned veteran of wireless networking. With chapters 2, 3 and 4 leading the way, the groundwork was set for a solid comprehension for the remainder of the book.
So, it is in chapter 5 -- "WLAN Basic Authentication and Privacy Methods" -- where the discussion of security for wireless LANs really begins. Once again, the title of the chapter is in sync with the content. What's provided is some light exposure to security methods. The information in the previous chapters really help to digest this chapter's material. This chapter is one of the "key" chapters in the book's presentation of wireless LAN security; the foundation to the discussion of wireless LAN security begins here.
The remaining chapters up to chapter 11 contained more in-depth discussion of security in the wireless LAN. I was pleased to see a discussion on the Wireless Domain Services (WDS), Wireless LAN Solution Engine, and Cisco Structured Wireless Aware Network (SWAN). While there's plenty of information at Cisco's website regarding these mechanisms, including the information in the context of the book content enhanced my understanding.
I don't believe this is a book that is intended to prepare for any Cisco-related certification; not that that was suggested anywhere to begin with. However, the reason for my comment is because there are none of the traditional questions at the end of each chapter to test chapter comprehension. So, if you want to test your understanding or memory, you'll have to create your own questions as your read through each chapter.
There will be a number of terms that may be unfamiliar to some readers, so I'll encourage you to note those as you read each chapter. The book contains no glossary for you to reference terms -- all nice and neat, in alphabetical order.
The book is for someone with at least a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCCNA)-level of knowledge. Certainly if the reader has a fair understanding of wireless networking, the focus can be exclusively placed on wireless LAN security. I would not recommend this book as a first-read to someone who doesn't have an understanding of wireless networking -- unless they're going to read only chapters 3 and 4. Again, chapters 3 and 4 are very good for a first exposure to wireless LAN theory.
Using a rating scale of 1 to 5 (with 1 being the worst, and 5 being the best) I'd give the book a rating of 5. Even with the fast evolution of wireless networking technology, and wireless standards being in almost a constant state of flux, I can see how I'd still be able to refer to this book for many months to come.

Good, Comprehensive Book on Wi-Fi Security.......2007-04-06
Edney tackles quite a broad topic, but does well with remaining focused and developing the topic from a novice understanding of wireless security to in-depth discussions down to the packet level. With the range of the topic, the book could have easily been written *only* for the novice or specifially for the computer professional, but Edney manages to hit both audiences; not a small feat when writing a computer-related book.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding why wi-fi networks are vulnerable (more so than traditional wired networks) and in learning more about wi-fi security solutions.
Easy to read Material - Calls your attention to read more and more.......2007-03-21
Hello,
I am reading this book and it is helping me a lot with my certification towards the CWNA, the material is very good, explanations are clear and the author has a very easy way to control the reader and explain the things that are sometimes hard to see. This book is a very good reading, i would suggest for whoever is starting on Security to read it, it even makes some humoristics comments during the book. Awesome, 5 stars material !
thanks a lot,
Simply the best wpa/802.11i book I have seen.......2006-09-27
The author really knows what he is talking about. The layout of content shows his strong logical reasoning. He answers almost all questions a curious engineer would have.
Top Notch.......2006-04-08
Outstanding book, not just for wireless security but for encryption in general. Very clear explanations, chapter on why WEP failed is the best explanation I have read. Also very clear on how EAP, TLS, TKIP, WAP and the rest of the protocol soup relate to each other. I even appreciated the attempts at humor - my style, a bit dry.
Excellent balance of technical detail and general overview.......2005-10-26
This book covers many major protocols. It provides background requirements to each of those protocols (this is important for understanding the big picture of 802.11 networking - otherwise you would be left with puzzle pieces of information).
The author creates a lucid description of the flaws of WEP encryption. I have read many websites and lesser books about the flaws of WEP. Now I finally understand those flaws.
That chapter, Chapter 6 How 802.11 Works and Why It Doesn't, is akin to J.R.R. Tolkiens chapter on the mines of Moria. Both use verbiage and flow that take the reader upon a journey. Wherein the reader and the book become one united thinking entity. It removes the reader's presence without moving the reader and upon return the reader know's it has been there).
This book isn't only about WEP. It covers [probably] every protocol, vulnerability, of 802.11 and rounds it out with some misc stuff in Part III (see TOC for listing).
Well written. This book actually is not a stuggle to read. (though I have only read chapters 3-9 and skimmed chapters 1-2). I even enjoy reading it before going to sleep. This goes back to the title of my review. Good balance of general overview and detailed technical information. Or better yet, a good buildup of general overview then followed by a detailed technical description of the topic.
I would recommend for intermediate to expert networking folks (devs, testers, project mgrs, admins).
Average customer rating:
- Guidelines
- Decent coverage of 802.11 security
- Great for wireless security
- Wonderful book, title should mention Unix.
- As secure as it can be

Book Description
Mention wireless networks, and the question of security will soon follow. It's not surprising that in spite of compelling business arguments for going wireless, many companies are holding back because of security concerns. But, while it's true that wireless networks create security issues that don't exist in wired networks, the issues are not insurmountable. 802.11 Security shows how you can plan for and successfully contend with security obstacles in your wireless deployment. This authoritative book not only explains the security issues, but shows you how to design and build a your own secure wireless network. 802.11 Security covers the entire process of building secure 802.11-based wireless networks, in particular, the 802.11b ("Wi-Fi") specification. The authors provide detailed coverage of security issues unique to wireless networking, such as Wireless Access Points (WAP), bandwidth stealing, and the problematic Wired Equivalent Privacy component of 802.11. You'll learn how to configure a wireless client and to set up a WAP using either Linux or Free BSD. You'll also find thorough information on controlling network access and encrypting client traffic. Beginning with an introduction to 802.11b in general, the book gives you a broad basis in theory and practice of wireless security, dispelling some of the myths along the way. In doing so, they provide you with the technical grounding required to think about how the rest of the book applies to your specific needs and situations. Next, the book details the technical setup instructions needed for both the Linux and FreeBSD operating systems. Some of the topics covered include:
- Station Security for Linux, FreeBSD, Open BSD, Mac OS X and Windows
- Setting Up Access Point Security
- Gateway Security, including building Gateways, firewall Rules, Auditing, etc.
- Authentication and Encryption
- FreeBSD IPsec client and gateway configuration
- Linux IPsec client and gateway configuration
- 802.1x authentication
802.11 Security is a book whose time has come. If you are a network, security, or systems engineer, or anyone interested in deploying 802.11b-based systems, you'll want this book beside you every step of the way.

Guidelines.......2005-10-11
Really well structured book, from station security (by operating system), protecting APs, to build a gateway with firewall rules taking into consideration all the protocols necessary for a wireless station operation.
A must have co-authored by the founder of The Shmoo Group.
Decent coverage of 802.11 security.......2005-06-30
This book provides the basic coverage of 802.11 security that the casual user would want, but leaves the information security professional wanting more. The pain point for this book is the price point and the amount of information covered. For the list price, most readers would expect much more in depth coverage of the topic including ancillary information such as monitoring for unusual activity, etc. To be fair, the author doesn't include this in the scope, but a book ambitiously titled 802.11 security in conjunction with the price, would leave the impression that there was more comprehensive coverage of other issues surrounding wireless deployment.
Not a bad book, just not what was expected when comparing to other O'Reilly books.
Great for wireless security.......2005-03-14
Bruce Potter knows the ins and out of 802.x security. There are a tons of security problems w/ wireless, but after reading this book, you will know what they are and at least have a semblance of intelligence on how to deal it it.
This is a great help, I loved this book.
Wonderful book, title should mention Unix........2003-09-30
802.11 Security is another fine O'Reilly book, it is very nicely written and laid out and the message is crystal clear.
The reason I gave it three stars was that the book is heavily biased towards Linux, Free BSD, and Open BSD and the title does not reflect the bias. That is not a bad thing, I found the unix information wonderful, but if you are ordering 802.11 Security over the web, you might easily miss the unix emphasis and end up with a book that doesn't meet your needs.
As secure as it can be.......2003-07-11
You've got one, I've got one, we've all got one. Wired networks have become so passe` now that wireless networks are everywhere. The one characteristic of most wireless networks is the lack of security. Enter O'Reilly's 802.11 Security.
Potter and Fleck have written this little book as a no-nonsense guide to understanding the problem of wireless networking security. They also do an excellent job demonstrating how to implement solutions that are quick, simple and actually work.
Overall, I would have to say that this book is a gold mine for anyone running an 802.11 network. It has helped me figure out how to implement wireless networking at home thus minimizing security risks. As usual the book is very easy reading and it's written in a very easy-going style giving the necessary background before launching into any detailed discussions. I would highly recommend this book to anyone considering or using a wireless network.
Even though given enough time my wireless network could be sniffed out, I feel much better having a better understanding of how important securing my wireless network is and knowing that I've done what I can to prevent unauthorized use.

Customer Reviews:
Great deployment book.......2004-06-23
This book is a very good HOWTO book on deploying a secure wireless network.
This book starts out with a description of the technologies used, like one of the previous reviewers has posted, it doesn't compare in contrast the two Windows authentication techniques available, but does a descent job describing the technology. You will also note that Microsoft Press didn't intend this book to be used for Evaluation or Skill Building which such comparison might be considered.
Moving on to part II, it starts with a guide on best practices for the deployment of wireless access points, it then moves onto it's deployment guides.
This is where this book sets itself apart from other HOWTO books that assume that you are deploying it in an large enterprise, or assume that you are going to deploy in a small office, this book gives you more choices.
First two deployment scenarios are for large enterprise, including a case study on the Microsoft roll out of Wi-Fi, they also give you a simple small office deployment scenario with no servers. Finally at the very end of the book, there is a lab deployment scenario (ie an enterprise type deployment with the fewest servers possible).
Also including are techniques to securing offer public, or semi-public wireless internet access on the same wireless network, without allowing them access to your network resources (other than the internet line and associated services).
This book rounds up part III with chapters on trouble shooting wireless clients, access point and the server parts of your wireless network.
Overall I recommend this book to anyone that needs to do an actual deployment of a wireless network, with Windows, or would like to learn the fundamentals of deploying a secure wireless network with a Windows infrastructure. I will be using this book as I deploy my companies wireless network in the coming months.
If this book went in depth on comparing the authentication and encryption techniques I would have given it 5 stars since it would be the perfect book on deploying secure wireless network with Windows.
weak wireless book.......2004-03-02
This is first Microsoft Press book that I can't recommend to anyone. The author is probably well versed in the technology but his ability to fully explain to the average reader is lacking. Chapter 2 should have expanded to explain the strength and weakness of each of the Authentication, Encryption, and Data Integrity processes. If you don't understand the security issues that each of these processes deals with you will be lost very quickly. Each Microsoft operating has different levels of support and setting for setting up a wireless client configuration - the book blows past this. I have found more information on the Cisco site.
excellent info for what I needed - help on 71-298.......2003-09-29
I was studying for the 71-298, design Security for Server 2003 and needed Microsoft fast info, so gave me all info as well as a good lab to set up for a wireless lab. Great book! We be setting up the lab at home next year to get experience in the new technology.
Needed wirless, security info.
I am taking it this Saturday Oct 4 2003, in Maryland as a beta tester.
802.11b Must Have!!!!.......2003-09-07
This book completely outlines everything you need to know regarding 802.11b and how to implement it. I am a consultant and find this book extremely useful.

Customer Reviews:
Review.......2005-10-12
So far I am on Chapter 8. I have a home wireless network and wanted to learn more about the vulnerabilities of 802.1X. It seems like an easy read and doesn't go too technical but a good reference and a beginners "what you need to know" book. Overall it needs more beef on the technical end of this books from software to hardware.
Waste of paper........2005-06-26
The dated nature of the book is unavoidable without a reprint. However even in 2003 people knew better than to allow the errors this book contains. I found 23 different pages with serious errors. These errors could cause a novice to mis-configure their system or purchase inadequate hardware.
More disappointing than the author's performance is the editors' poor performance. McGraw-Hill should be embarrassed by their involvement in this piece of work. The author is quite fond of "due to the fact that" and other flagrant poor usage. Additionally a good technical review would have caught the poor organization and inconsistencies of the book.
Dated, not enough meat.......2005-05-26
This book served as the text for a graduate-level Wireless Network Security class. As such it was too elementary, and far too dated - one paragraph on 802.11i, none on WPA or WPA2. I got through the course thanks to Google, IEEE's website, and the Planet3 CWNA and CWSP books.
Clear and Complete.......2003-03-26
I am really impressed with this book! WiFi has always been a difficult subject to master, especially with respect to security. Most of the books on this subject are very cryptic, however this book was very clearly understood by both myself and my colleagues. I highly recommend this book to ANYONE who is dealing with WiFi Security at any level.
Important Topic, Well Covered.......2003-03-21
WiFi is an important topic and I believe this book covers all the most important issues with excellent clarity and detail. I was very impressed with the depth of coverage and the way this book systematically covers each topic. At least with this book, I feel I have a better command of what needs to be done to improve our WiFi security at our company.
