Love it, but I feel like I'm getting ripped off.......2007-02-03
I love the Simpsons and these books are a "must have" for any serious fan. Plot summaries, gags, quotes, movie references, song lyrics, and "the stuff you may have missed" are all great. As I am rewatching the seasons on DVD, I love to pull out these books and refer along.
However, I am a little irritated at how much I feel Groening and company to be "milking" these books and the consumer for $$$$. The first book contained 8 seasons and was great. Now lately, all three of the subsequent books only cover two seasons? This latest book was released in 2005 at the beginning of the 17th season. Surely they could have made more of an effort to make the book more current and include the 15th and 16th seasons as well.
I'm a little annoyed that it cost me $12 to buy the first book in this series that covered EIGHT seasons, and yet I've had to spend $42 on three books which have only covered SIX.

This book is probably a must for any real "Simpsons" fan. It is full of summaries of each episode in the 13th and 14th season, as well as memorable quotes, interesting trivia, and things you may have missed. The book offers interesting character designs from different episodes, as well as on-going couch gags and what Homer likes ("Mmmm") and dislikes ("D'oh"). However, I feel some of these things are just placed inside to make the book seem more full and deserving of $15. But, overall, I was very happy with the purchase and, as I stated earlier, I feel it is an essential for a big "Simpsons" fan.

Good Source for Seasons 9 & 10.......2005-11-06
This book is one in a continuing series of reference for the show. In particular, this book deals with episodes from the ninth and tenth seasons of the "Simpsons." Here, we are given summaries of each episode, as well as the chalkboard and couch gags that came along, and interesting trivia about the episodes. If you own the first one (which I suggest you should, if you don't already)), I would definitely recommend this book, as well as to any person who loves the show.

It includes, and I am taking this right from the cover, more characters, episodes, and secret jokes you might have missed from seasons 9 and 10...and then some! The book was created by Matt Groening and edited by Scott M. Gimple. It details each episode and even has extras: Do The Bartman; Deep, Deep Trouble; A Tribute to Troy McClure; Homer Says; Couch Gags; Who Does What Voice; and Songs Sung Simpson.

Seasons 9-10, Complete.......2003-04-03
The first book covers seasons 1-8. This book only covers two seasons: 9 and 10. Each episode gets a two page spread, while many of the episodes in the first book only had one page. This allows far greater detail to be covered.
I keep all (currently) three books near the TV, and I'll review the pages for each episode before I watch the rerun. In doing so, it opens my eyes to a lot of the little details that I missed the first fifty times I saw the episode.
Essentially, this is the owners manual for seasons 9 and 10.

Guide for Seasons 11 & 12.......2005-11-06
This particular book follows the eleventh and twelfth seasons of the "Simpsons." We are offered summaries for each episode, as well as chalkboard and couch gags, hard-to-know facts and trivia, and character sketches and designs from various episodes. This is a great addition to the first two books in the series, but seems to be filled with some extra, not very essential material, just to seem larger and worthy of the price. Yet, in any event, I think if you are a big "Simpsons" watcher, or want to know more about these seasons, this book is a great purchase.

This book is hilarious, even better than the other two! Every series,the simpsons just gets funnier and funnier. I can't wait for the next book to come out and the next series to be shown on C4. If you like The Simpsons, you will love this book.
Simpsons Beyond Forever ROCKS!!!!!!!.......2004-02-25
Wow, The Simpsons has been around a LONG TIME! Right now, they're on Season 15 and the hit show doesn't look like it will end anytime soon. Of course, the episodes are kind of stupid now and some are losing interest. The Simpsons Beyond Forever covers season 11 and 12. The book is basically a really detailed episode guide. Inside, there is an Itchy and Scratchy Filmography, Homer's D'OHS! and his mmm's, and of course, the couch gags. But, that's only part of the book.
Also, they tell everything you need to know about each episode in seasons 11 and 12. There's the stuff Bart writes on the chalkboard, quotes from the episode, a summary and hilarious pictures. With 2 pages for each episode, they have plenty of room to fit anything they want on it. They even do a The Stuff You May Have Missed section for every episode. They have even more information for the Treehouse of Horror episodes. 4 WHOLE PAGES! The episodes aren't even that great!
The book, I wouldn't consider short, but not long. The first book(The Simpsons: A Complete Guide To Your Favorite Family) almost has 100 more pages than Beyond Forever! But, Beyond Forever has enough information that the few pages don't really matter.
You'll find EVERYTHING you need to know about season 11 and 12 in this book. Basically, it's amazing. I would reccommend this true work of art to any Simpsons fan. You could watch one Simpsons episode and still find this book interesting. Seasons 11 and 12 weren't included in the drop of ideas that has suddenly come into The Simpsons. The wonderful episode HomR lets you discover Homer's only stupid because he lodged a crayon up his nose as a kid. Plus, there's the crazy Trilogy of Error episode where it tells where Homer's finger was cut off by Marge and her brownies.
All in all, this book is AWESOME! Buy it.

The Ultimate Simpsons in a Big Ol' Box is a nice way to condense the complete guides to seasons 1-12. It contains three guides you can buy seperatly; seasons 1-8, 9-10 and 11-12. The box just makes for easy storage, and is cool to look at.
Great books, bad condition.......2004-09-22
I ordered my books from here and the hardcover came torn. I must warn you to be careful ordering books online, you never know what you're going to get. I orderd my books for $30. If I had orderd later I would of have to buy for $45. It seems amazon rose the prices. The price is the same as in the stores so I advise you to get it in stores because you never know what your going to get in the mail. Or you can wait till it's $30 again or buy from a seller. Now on to the books. This hardcover includes 3 books. The first one features seasons 1-8. The second one features seasons 9-10, the third one contains seasons 11-12. Each one contains things you might of missed facts and other stuff like production photos songs and more. I reccommend this for all simpsons fans.

This Episode Guide has EVERYTHING that you can ever imagine in an episode guide. From Seasons 1-12, it has details on every single episode. Its got quotes, what Bart writes on the chalkboard in the intro, couch gags, special guest voices, writers, screenshots, episode number (i.e. 8F05), air date, scene selections, runtime, and a whole lot more. All of this for only about $30, what a bargain.
Now I have seen every single Simpsons episode up-to-date but sometimes I forget about an episode or about a quote from a certain episode that I forget but now all I do is look over at my episode guide, track the season down and from there I find out what I needed. This book isn't just for looking for episodes and finding quotes or stuff like that, it can also be entertaining and a time killer (I mean that in a good way). So if you're stuck in the car going on a vacation, you can open this Episode Guide up and have yourself a laugh and maybe even find out some useful stuff that you didn't know about. This is a strong recommendation for any Simpsons fan.

I have the first book that covers seasons 1-8 and it is an absolute must-have for Simpson fans not in front of the internet who want to remember specific shows and lines from the shows at their fingertips. It has brought hours and hours of joy to my friends and I. I think the guy from Belgium is just bitter and might want to consume some Duff.
The Simpsons - The Final Rip Off.......2004-04-06
Yes, I was a great fan of The Simpsons. The show originally appeared to be a critical cynical approach to American and western society. It showed a family who's main entertainment is television, a father who's an alcoholic with a boring job, a son which main interest is to pull jokes out of sheer boredom, a daughter who is terrified by it all escaping in intellectualism and a mother who stays married whatever happens. Let's say a nice portrait of an ordinary family.
However, the show became a parody of itself, it can be watched on many levels one being a cynical approach to consumer society and the kind of people it breeds.
Now The Simpsons has become itself a money maker, throwing gadgets all over the place, exploiting fans who probably already bought the first two volumes, now offering a boxed offering (what about the fans who bought the first two volumes: they can forget about the added greeting cards; it should be the other way around). And anyway, let's face it, The Simpsons are out of ideas, now only making the show for the big bucks, distancing themselves ever further about what the original ideas were all about.

Nearly a decade into their run, it's clear that The Simpsons is one of the best-loved and most influential television shows to come down the pike in a long while. If the show's attitude was a little less pervasive, this encyclopedic book would be aimed solely at Simpsons addicts. But that's not entirely true--Matt Groening and Ray Richmond have created a book that is essential for anyone interested in where TV is today. That's not to suggest that the book is serious, though--it's not. The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family (that's debatable, but who cares?) is a collection of everything related to the show, from all the "couch gags" during the end of the opening credits, to the complete words to the theme song from The Itchy and Scratchy Show. There are broadcast dates, credits, and hidden jokes for every episode. You'll even find a list of things that make Homer go "Mmm..."

Best Simpsons Book Ever.......2006-07-14
This is the ultimate Simpsons fan's book. It has all of The Simpsons seasons 1-8 in air-order, so you won't have any problem finding them. There are a lot of pictures and colors as well. There are even a list of Homer's D'ohs, Couch Gags, and Chalkboard Gags for every episode. This is well worth the money you pay for it; definitely should be bought by any simpaholic.

I bought this book when it first came out, and have re-read it often (fully, and partially) since then. It is an excellent reference for any "Simpsons" fan for the first eight seasons of the show. The pages are full of episode summaries, quotes, and trivia facts from the show. It also offers profiles of characters, and a list of who does what voice. A great source if you cannot remember what guest celebrity voiced a character or any other information like that. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys the "Simpsons" and wants to know more about the episodes.
I Do Like A Man Who Knows His Simpsons.......2005-08-30
Almost everything you could ever think to ask about The Simpsons is in this book. What was Bart writing on the chalkboard in "that one episode"? It's in here. The plots, inside jokes, behind the scenes tales and more await in this excellent resource for fans. This book harkens from the Conan O'Brien-era prime of the series, up to about the late 90's, when the quality (sadly) slipped big time. This was the golden age of The Simpsons, back before the series "became a cartoon." (Anyone who was a fan back in the day knows just what I mean.)

Oddly Comforting!.......2005-04-21
I found this book so soothing. If you love the Simpsons, you will love this book. You can relive the most hilarious quotes of the series in the most convienient manner possible. No need to search through DVD's to hear Homer say, "It takes two to lie, Marge. One to lie, and one to listen." Instead, you can flip through this book and relive all your favorite moments. I read it over and over and over again. It is well worth its price.
