Book Description
Anytime, anyplace, Ethan Crane's your man. An agent's agent, he's tough, smart, and fearless. Exactly the guy you want when the stuff hits the fan--and precisely the kind Beth Whitney avoids like the plague. It took a fiancé (make that ex-fiancé) in the business to teach her, but she's learned her lesson: Don't. Date. Agents. Ever. It's this little rule that's kept her gainfully employed at the agency, doing her part for world security from behind a desk. So when a case throws the two together, Beth's determined to keep it strictly professional. So far, so good--except for the steamy kisses, the red-hot phone sex, and...What was that rule again?
To Ethan, Beth couldn't be less his type if her father ran the agency, which, oh yeah, her father does run the agency. Still he can't help but be impressed by her inspired work in the field--a total turn on. Off the field it's even better. Seems the old adage that opposites attract happens to agents too. Even if Beth insists it's just a fantasy. But hot pursuit of a notorious information broker is what they should focus on--not each other. That can wait until they've accomplished a job well done. Or can it?

Very Very Disappointed...............2007-09-27
I was really looking forward to this book, because the second one of this set was a let down and I didn't actually finish reading that one either. I should have just went with that instinct. I don't know if Ms. Monroe was being paid by the word or what. But the internal dialogue of the characters would just go on and on. I became so fustrated, I began not to care. I saw that she has a new book coming out, I don't know if I shall even buy that one. What started out with some promise has fizzled terribly.
good, but not up to her standards.......2007-07-04
first off let me say i love lucy monroe's writing and if you haven't read "ready, willing, and able" go read them as soon as possible. satisfaction guaranteed was good, but not really up to her standards of writing. at some points in the book i found myself skimming trying to find an exciting, edge of your seat part, but i'm sorry to say i never really found any such section.the sex scenes were nice and i liked most of the plot,i just felt like it could have been better. the book's potential to be really enjoyable is there just not quite fulfilled.i don't regret reading the book and if any of you are huge fans of her i don't believe you'll regret reading it either, but if you're new to her don't stop here because all her other work is AMAZING.
007 James Bond Romance!.......2007-06-09
I enjoyed this book! It picks up from Ready, Willing and Able (triology set) as some of the characters reenter this book, but not in a big way. I thought the book was well written, moves right along, doesn't require a lot of concentration to keep up with (I LIKE THAT!), has some steam. Both characters are likeable. I thought it was going to be about "agents" like movie stars that sort of thing. It's about "agents" like 007/FBI type stuff. FYI It was a good read!
Doesn't deliver what its title promises.......2007-06-04
After being left at the altar, Beth Whitney makes herself a promise. No more dating agents. Her fiance, an FBI agent, missed their wedding because he was involved in a case. Beth promises herself that she will never again allow herself to fall in love with a man who will put his occupation before his relationship with her. As the daughter of an intelligence agent, Beth knows what it's like to grow up in a family where she feels second best because of her father's dedication to his job. Beth wants more for herself and for any family she might have in the future.
Beth decides to completely change her life after her failed wedding and leaves her job as an investment analyst to work for her father at a covert intelligence agency known as The Goddard Project. She finds her administrative work there fulfilling, and it allows her to show another part of her personality that is interested in the intrigue and mystery of life as an agency without the dangers. She is also allowed to meet strong, sexy agents like Ethan Crane. Ethan is everything that Beth is not looking for in a man, but she finds herself attracted to his hard body, charming personality, and charismatic demeanor.
When a project forces she and Ethan to be paired as agents, Beth and Ethan must work in such close proximity that she is forced to deal with her attraction to him. To her amazement, Ethan also seems to be interested in her. When they being preparing to work on the case, living together and working together raise the level of intimacy until Ethan and Beth wind up as lovers as well as coworkers.
Satisfaction Guaranteed was okay, but not great. The story dragged at points, and I actually put it down for a week while I read other things. Beth's personality seems to change depending on her situation throughout the novel. At times she's a take charge woman, confident in her abilities and what she wants for her future. At others she's insecure, unsure of what she wants, and willing to sacrifice love for the image of what she thought she wanted but knows isn't what she needed. It was difficult to respect her since she couldn't manage to make up her own mind, which made me have hard time making up mine.
Also, I was unconvinced that the author had done enough research as far as the intelligence agencies were concerned. I didn't understand what sort of "agents" were being discussed at the beginning of the book, and got the impression that someone had watched a few too many episodes of Alias and Passions (Ethan Crane, anyone?) rather than doing the necessary research to write a book about espionage. As a whole, Satisfaction Guaranteed was unable to deliver what its title promised.

Beth Whitney wishes she could wake up from the peculiar dream she's having about work. She's the Central Administration Agent for a secret government agency called The Goddard Project. Her father heads the agency, and he's just hired a new agent: Alan Hyatt, the man who left Beth at the altar three years earlier. Was a little warning too much to expect? To make things even more uncomfortable, one of their top agents, Ethan Crane, has just returned from his latest mission. He just happens to be the star of Beth's most secret fantasies. Under her father's watchful eye, Beth needs to deal with both men at the same time. Come to think of it, the situation is more like a nightmare.
Things get even more bizarre for Beth when her father asks her to work as a field agent on an important case. Sure, Beth trained in the basics as an agent, but she never expected or even wanted to work anywhere but the office. And naturally Ethan Crane is the agent in charge. He'll be posing as Beth's jealous, possessive boyfriend. If she agrees to the assignment, Beth will need to get herself hired as a personal investment counselor to a man the agency is trying to take down. She has the financial experience and bookish personality to handle the job, but her relationship with Ethan will have to be absolutely convincing at all times. Intellectually, Beth knows it will all be pretense for the sake of the case, but it won't be easy to keep her emotions out of the picture.
Ethan Crane thrives on danger. The strikingly gorgeous, capable agent chooses the riskiest assignments at work, and extreme sports are his preferred form of relaxation. Ethan has never been in a relationship that lasted more than a couple of months and he likes it that way. Although he doesn't live near his family in Texas anymore, they're still an important part of his life. Ethan would love to learn more about the serious, quietly attractive Beth, but he plans to be cautious. She's the boss's daughter, after all. Ethan is intrigued by the unexpected facets of Beth's personality that emerge once she's away from the office. He's also strangely threatened by newly-hired agent Alan Hyatt's mysterious relationship with Beth.
When Beth agrees to the field assignment, Ethan doesn't want to waste any time learning everything he can about her. The more they know about each other, the better their cover and the greater chance their mission will succeed. Is Ethan only interested in Beth for the sake of the case? She guards her heart closely, and never plans to offer it to an agent again. Will Ethan break through her defenses?
As always, Lucy Monroe gets everything right. Who can resist page after page of smoldering, seductive heat as Ethan brings Beth's deepest fantasies to life in vivid detail? Beth may seem shy and quiet on the outside, but her conservative, professional demeanor is merely one facet of her complex personality. She's introspective, a dreamer, and her failed relationship with Alan has left her wary of truly living. Beth is so different from her parents, it's sometimes hard to believe she's actually part of the same family. She wants children and a husband who will put his family first, something she's sure can never happen with a man like Ethan. He's devoted to his job, and doesn't do relationships. Ethan is exactly wrong for Beth, and they both know it. But the sensual, erotic side of Beth drives Ethan wild with desire. He admires her quick mind, her work ethic, and even her yearning for a family. I hoped Ethan and Beth wouldn't simply walk away from each other when their mission was complete. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED definitely lives up to its title!

Book Description
Marketing exec Lucy Cunningham is thrilled when her firm lands The Palm Club account. The campaign concept for Miami's hottest fitness club was Lucy's idea: take one fitness-challenged woman, put her in front of TV cameras, and into the hands of the club's top personal trainer, Theo Redmond. And there's a big cash reward for each pound shed. It seems like a brilliant idea-until Lucy gets picked to be the guinea pig. It's obvious she needs to drop the pounds, but the idea of letting it all hang out in front of some Malibu Ken jock has her choking on her Milk Duds before she even begins! After one meeting, Theo knows Lucy will be his toughest client and one of the most unforgettable women he'll ever meet. Smart-mouthed and stubborn, it's clear she isn't fond of marching to anyone's drumbeat but her own. But she shocks Theo by rising to the challenge like a pro. And he finds his heart in jeopardy long before Lucy starts to slim down and turn heads. As Lucy sweats her way into a whole new life, things start to heat up between her and Theo. But trust doesn't come easy for either of them. They've both been burned by romance in the past. Now Lucy and Theo are about to discover that appearances can be deceiving-and in the end, true love lies somewhere between pizza and Pilates....

He Loves Lucy.......2007-08-12
Great Story!! I laughed out loud reading this...from the first page to the very last. There were also moments I totally identified w/Lucy...times when I reflected on painful things in MY PAST and thought of the ways that they paralyzed me...much the same way as her being a "Slump Buster" damaged her. Then there were scenes that made me smile...and damn if I didn't wish that Theo could be my personal trainer!! He was a really great son, brother, coach, friend, and awesome trainer...just a really, really great guy. I've read lots of books by Susan Donovan...and her men are ALWAYS so damn good...probably too good to be true. But then that's why we read, right ladies? To escape and fantasize about "the perfect hunk of a man"....LOL!!! Get this book...or any book by SD...because I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed. Anything she writes is always such a treat. Like chocolate cupcakes from the "Cupcakery" here in LV...but w/less calories!! Did I forget to mention how the stories (to me anyway) always flow along at such a great pace? It's awesome & yet almost sad to reach the end. Another keeper for sure!!
If you love Susan E. Phillips- you will love this book. I love this bk........2007-08-08
No fair putting cupcakes on the cover of this book! Cruel, when Lucy Cunningham wants to lose 100 pounds in one year. An excellent goal for anyone 100 pounds overweight, right? But she does it the hard way - everything is publicly weighed, measured and recorded by her personal trainer Theo on television as a PR stunt for her advertising agency and Theo's health club! What's the reward for that sort of humiliation, you ask? $100,000.00. That's $1,000.00 a pound for both Lucy and Theo, who desperately needs the money to go back to med school. Big commitment, huge reward! So here's fat Lucy and over there is Theo, built like a Greek god. Hmm. Starstruck Lucy begins to lose weight, and Theo's interest perks up in the woman behind the huffing, puffing, sweating, exercise wreck. (We didn't say it was going to be easy, did we?) He fantasizes about med school and about Lucy, while she just fantasizes about Theo. And pizza and chocolate and every other rich edible thing, including - ahem - Theo. This is a fun, naughty book you'll want to gobble up, as Theo and Lucy traverse the - dare I say it? - rocky road to romance. Sizzling, sexy fun.
A fun read!.......2007-05-23
Lucy Cunningham is an up and coming ad exec star who comes up with a great campaign for a new gym client: one of the gym's trainers will help someone lose 100 lbs. in just one year, with both the trainer and the participant getting $1000 per pound lost. Unfortunately, the "someone" turns out to be Lucy herself, despite her initial protests. Although she had always been on the larger side, throughout high school and early college, Lucy was active and athletic, but a mysterious incident at a college football game led to a major weight gain. So, Lucy reluctantly agrees to the weight loss challenge, allured by the idea of starting her own ad agency with the money she earns. Almost immediately, she falls for her gorgeous yet sweet personal trainer, Theo. Not only does Theo have model-perfect looks and a heart of gold--he likes Lucy from the start, seeing her personality, not her weight--but also he is a former medical student trying to earn enough money to return to school. Although Lucy and Theo are both primed to succeed, there are those who want to see them fail, and the book chronicles their progress.
So that's the setup. Sound a bit unrealistic? Well, of course it is--this is a romance novel after all! Of course, both Lucy and Theo are wonderful, and of course, they eventually fall in love--but like with all romances (even Shakespearian ones), the course of true love does not run smooth. Still, this is enjoyable book with some depth to it, not only in the form of Lucy's troubled past, but also related to Theo's own background. Definitely recommended as a quick, fun read.
Great Read.......2007-05-15
This book is great and truly romantic. Not every heroine has to be super skinny with a 'flawless' bod to get the hunky guy.

Can a romance book get any better than Susan Donovan's HE LOVES LUCY? I think not! From true-to-life characters, deep emotion, witty dialogue, and red-hot sexual tension, this book has the one thing that contemporary romances should have-everything!
Lucy Cunningham is a marketing executive for the advertising firm of Sherrod & Thoms. And she's hit upon the absolutely perfect idea for a gimmick for the Palm Club of Miami Beach, Florida-bring in an overweight woman, throw her into the capable hands of a personal trainer, vow to lose one hundred pounds in a year, and let the television show WakeUp Miami detail each achievement and setback. It was an excellent idea, until the powers-that-be decided that Lucy-and her two hundred and thirty some pounds-be the human guinea pig in this marketing campaign.
Threatened by the fact that she'll have to give up Milk Duds, extra-cheese pizza, and butter brickle ice cream, Lucy is overwhelmed by the task ahead of her. Sure, ever since the debacle of being the slump buster for Pitt State's football team, she's been eating herself into oblivion, and something obviously needs to change. But working with a Ken look-a-like named Theodore Redmond was never part of the deal!
From the first time Theo is forced to perform CPR on a candy-choking, overweight loudmouth by the name of Lucy, he's smitten by her courageous attitude and brave strength in the face of adversity. As for Lucy, being in the presence of Theo's male perfection is taking a toll on her already fragile hormones.
As Stephan Sherrod, her boss, comes close to having a mental breakdown over Lucy's sudden stardom and weight loss; as Theo's rebuffed coworker Lola DiPaolo attempts to bring down the Palm Club; as Lucy's brother, Dan, falls in lust with her new model friend, Gia Altamonte; as Lucy's sister, Mary Fran, goes through a marital crisis, you just know that HE LOVES LUCY is heading toward one heck of an ending!
Susan Donovan has taken a premise that might have failed, and turned it into a funny, poignant, truly romantic story. I love romance books that feature real-sized characters, and Lucy is definitely that. I have to admit that I was at first worried about Theo's feelings for Lucy-was he only going to fall head-over-heels once Lucy was a stick-thin version of her former self? As I learned, there was nothing to fear! At the end of the story, Lucy is still not a beanpole, and Theo shows that behind his gorgeous exterior lies a heart of gold.
Theo is the kind of hero I love the best, a mix of alpha male. Theo dropped out of medical school to care for his brother Buddy. Sixteen years old and born with Downs Syndrome, Buddy, is the kind of brother anyone would want. An athlete in the Special Olympics, his antics and no-holds-barred advice to his older brother are not to be missed.
The supporting cast of characters only adds to the charm of Lucy and Theo's story. An excellent book by an excellent author, HE LOVES LUCY goes onto my keeper shelf, in the to-be-read-again category.

Book #2 in this trilogy.......2007-06-05
I liked this book! It was not as good as book #1 (Ready), but it was okay. It starts right off, moves along, not too complicated, has romance, mystery, action, relationship issues and steam. I had to laugh at some of the "communication issues" the couple had to deal with. LOL For folks intrusted on understanding communication for combat, they sure didn't know how to communicate, but they learned. If you like this type of book, you won't be dissappointed. I'm reading book #3 now...
Very much enjoy Lucy Monroe...........2007-05-21
and I really like this series! I find a pleasure in her books because they are a good, solid romance read. They are not too heavy and filled with just angst and tragedy, they are not just fluff and Prada shoes, they are JUST RIGHT with just enough of both. There will be a good relationship building up. There will be great anticipation building to great sex scenes. There is always a great link to friends and outside relationships that are believable and important. There is right and wrong, and a believable and good ending. Plus I just love the links to other books. Since I'm a serial reader and proud of it :) and have been a reading junky since I learned how at 7, I always enjoy a way to make a book last, and I just love an author who knows how to spin one book into another!
I have read many a romance in my teens, moved into meatier subjects in my college years as I majored in English and worked towards a never gained masters, then side-tracked into mystery and espionage through my 20s and 30s. Just lately in my 40s I have started back into romance, and I have to say that I have found Lucy Monroe's to be some of my favorites and one of the one's that I love to go back and re-read because they are a consistently GREAT read.
Some of the romance's that I have read lately (not Ms Monroe's) have left me feeling confused and wondering what the heck was going on in the relationship. Some have left me cold during the sex scenes. Some have made me put the book aside half way through because I didn't care enough to finish it. With kids in the house and lots of stuff to do, I don't have a lot of time to waste reading a book I don't enjoy, and believe me, if it isn't working for me, I'm not going to plow through just because I started it.
But I've NEVER had that problem with one of Lucy's books. Hers are a consistent hit with me! I just love her stuff and they take me away from the unrelenting aggravation a 3 year old boy bent on destruction can dish out on a daily basis, and that's a rare gift, let me tell you!
Help me escape, Lucy Monroe!!
Ending Too Fast.......2007-05-14
I liked this book. I think the key to reading this trilogy is to read them apart from one another. I read the first book about 2 or 3 months ago. Then I read this one. A lot of people are complaining about this book being a lot like the first book, Ready. Well they are, but you'll enjoy them more if you put some time between them. I'm not going to go into the plot because so many already have. I just felt that the characters could have been explored more fully. I agree with a previous poster that Josie fell into bed too fast and too easily. I wanted her to stand up to him more and be the way her character is explained in the beginning. I'm tired of weak female characters that need a man to "save" them. It's crap. I thought the ending wrapped up way too fast and way too easy. The first one of the series was better. Let's hope that the final book in the trilogy is better. I'll get to in a month or so. I would recommend it as a good middle book in the trilogy.
A True Romantic Story.......2007-05-01
The hero, Daniel Black Eagle, can be classified as a knight in shining armor. He definitely comes across as the brooding, strong quiet type in this book. I liked the story and admired the hero, Daniel and the heroine, Josie McCall. Josie McCall was raised in a restrictive man's world. Her father owned a school that trained mercenary and taught them how to be first-rate soldiers. And he trained his daughter, Josie, just the same. She was taught how to fight and handle weapons, but never taught how to be a woman. This is where Daniel Black Eagle enters and he's just the man to open up her feminine side. Daniel does not see Josie as a soldier, but a very desirable woman and he wants her. He is very much willing to become her tutor in passion and so much more.
The story line is easy to follow and really entertaining. There's some suspense thrown in when the mercenary business is blown up and Josie's father is missing. Daniel is determined to find the culprits behind the explosion and be there for Josie to help find her father.
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars, because I did not quite believe the part about Josie McCall being a fierce soldier. She was a little too innocent for someone who was raised to be a strong capable soldier around a bunch of mercenary men. But I did like the story and thought it was beautifully told. The main characters were smart and passionate and the hero was strong, and very tender in how he related to Josie. Even though she could protect herself, he very much wanted to be her protector. It was a true love story.
I Felt So Loved By Nitro.......2007-02-21
I was so moved by his single-minded passion for one woman only. He was so loving and giving to her and possessive as well. It left me with a wonderful feeling and I continue to think about Nitro even after reading other books. The plot was a little too simple for me, but the feelings to and from Nitro made up for it. I enjoyed all three books in the trilogy, (Ready, Willing, And Able) but the third book a little less than the first two.

Confusing, missing details, bad attitude.......2007-05-11
I thought this book had a fun title, so I bought it for my maid of honor for my wedding, and then for myself when I was in her wedding. It is not full of all of the practical advice I had expected.
This book does have some useful tips, but it is way too light on covering protocol for traditional weddings. It glosses over important points too quickly, without the explanation and emphasis they deserve.
Also, it gave some bad advice. It suggested this: if your intended Maid of Honor is married, to make her Matron of Honor, and appoint an additional Maid of Honor! Although I believe in complete flexibility and customization, this was very impractical, and has only led to confusion in my friend's wedding.
Also, it seemed to often take a high-society attitude, and to assume that everyone wants an absolutely traditional wedding (I certainly didn't). I want to be guided by tradition, but everything should ultimately be what the bride prefers (barring "bridezillas", of course). I hoped that a "guerrilla handbook" might be in line with these ideas, but it wasn't.
I am going to look around for other books. There has to be something better.
Entertaining.......2007-03-26
This little book was not only helpful, but entertaining- I bought three different books that were all useful in their own right, but this one seemed to insult one's intelligence a little less, and if it did, it was deliberate and funny. A GREAT gift for a bridesmaid who may or may not know a little about being a bridesmaid. The trouble I had with other books was that they were a little mundane in the details of one's duties. This one laughed at them all.
Helpful but feeds the beasts.......2006-06-06
The bridesmaid's only real duty is to stand up for her friend who is getting married. NO ONE is "obligated" to hold a shower, since these are a gift to a bride, not something she is entitled to have and absolutely must get.
A bridesmaid with sense should ask up front if she has to pay for her own dress, shoes, hair, etc, and a considerate bride will tell her anyway. Only a bridezilla would give this to her maids and say "this is your job. Do it."
I suggest Bridezilla or a visit to the etiquettehell dot com site for real, free instructions on what one's polite duty is to the bride, and what a considerate bride's responsibilities are to her maids.
first time bridesmaid = needs this book .......2006-02-27
I have never been a bridesmaid before so this book was perfect for me! It was very helpful with timelines, budgetting, and what to expect. Not to mention, it was a great easy read. I sat down and read it all in one go. It gave me more confidence in what I am supposed to do to get ready for my best friends wedding. It was definitely worth it.
The Perfect Wedding Gift.......2004-10-24
My wife gave this book to each of her bridesmaids prior to the wedding (the best day of my life), and they all had a blast utilizing the excellent tips and cute facts. Its a fun, informative well designed book. My wife said it was great for bonding between her bridesmaids, made the whole wedding a lot more enjoyable. I say buy it.

Nice, but worth it?.......2007-08-29
My two year old has fallen in love with Maisy. I searched on-line for a plush Maisy toy he could cuddle with. This was the only one I could find at the time, and it came with a book - bonus! It comes in a nice boxed package and the book was cute, but shorter than other Maisy books...about 4 pages. Also, the Maisy doll was much smaller than I had imagined, about the size of a "beanie baby" but stiff and not cuddly. It might be great for a child who collects Maisy items and wants to display the small doll, however, if they want to cuddle a soft Maisy friend, this is not the doll to do it.
Birthday gift.......2007-08-05
Was a birthday gift to my daughter. She still sleeps with the little doll. Wonderful!!
Maisy makes us happy..........2007-03-14
My son just loves Maisy. This is the second gift set that includes a doll that I have purchased (the first being Maisy's Bedtime, with Maisy dressed in her pajamas). I read this book to my son every morning when he gets up and the Bedtime story every night when he gets into bed. He loves to hold the stuffed animals each time. They are about 4 inches tall each, but to him they are big! And most of the Maisy board books are the same size- a toddler-friendly shape that makes it easy for them to hold themselves. They are very sturdy and ours have taken quite a beating. Other than that, the books include the usual primary color illustrations. This book, however, includes all of Maisy's friends; some of the other books only feature her and Panda, which is kind of disappointing to my son, since he loves Charlie and Eddie!
Disappointingly small.......2007-03-09
Both the doll and the book seem a little small somehow, but the book is pretty cute. As much as my daughter is a Maisy fan, she really showed no interest in the doll.
Simple and sweet.......2005-09-16
My 2yo loves Maisy. This book is quite small and short, but she loves it. The text is something like, "Maisy loves Cyril. She brings him flowers." (next page) "Maisy loves Talulah. She sings her a song." (and so on, then the last page) "Maisy loves you too!"
My only complaint: the book split after only two days! We had to tape it back together. Usually board books are sturdy, but this one surprised us.

I love this book. First and foremost, unlike most other books for romantically-underdeveloped men, this one is written by two very intelligent women, who support their recommendations with actual research and statistics. Right now, I am re-reading this book because I don't want any of its wisdom to elude me. A Real Treasure.......2004-06-09
This book helped me to see my wife in a different light. It was a bit wordy in some areas but what they said was good. I actually got hooked on romance and began reading other books out there. A really outstanding one is The Romantic's Guide. I actually saw the author on Orprah.

This book was a blessing! It helped me reevaluate who I was, how I treated my wife and what my priorities were in my marriage. Had I not read this book, my marriage would be in shambles, but instead, my wife and I are happier and enjoying our most nurturing relationship ever!
No matter what your backgroud or current level of relationship with a woman, this book provides just the information you've been looking for. Whether you're a sensitive, romantic or a quiet, conventional guy, this book is worth its weight in diamonds, flowers or love letters.

I Love Lucy: Celebrating Fifty Years of Love and Laughter.......2006-03-22
I purchased and sent this to my daughter, teaching in Namibia, Africa as a birthday gift. She and her roommate in college, use to run home, each day after their last class, to be sure and watch a I Love Lucy rerun on television - it was one of their "stress relievers" before they "hit the books". She said it did the same thing in Namibia, after teaching 3 English classes and 3 Environmental Management Classes, monitoring the new Library, and an HIV/AIDs club for her students/"learners" - a 12 hour day (plus class planning for the next day and correcting papers)!!! She's only 28 years old, but I Love Lucy is TIMELESS. She also received the first five year episodes. Thanks to Amazon.com for making this so easy for me to be able to do this for my daughter!!!!
A Lucy Book Not to Love .......2005-04-11
With so many Lucy books out there, you would think the author and publishers would try to make a knockout book to stand apart from the competition. Amazingly, this book "authorized by CBS Broadcasting Inc. and the Estates of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz" is one of the weakest books on Ball and/or LUCY I've ever seen!! Let's start with the photos. As many have mentioned, their reproduction is just awful. They resemble pictures in a vintage tabloid or cheaply printed pulp magazine from years past. The sepia tinting (black and white photos colored one color) might not have been so bad had the images been sharper (despite the fact that "sepia" photos were not in fashion in the 50's but in the 20's and 30's!!!); the photos that are very small here you can barely make out the subject's faces! The publishers/designers may have been going for a vintage look but it's not appropiate to the 1950's and even if it was, it's just not appealing in a 21st century book.
The bulk of the book consists of pages on each "I Love Lucy" episode with a brief paragraph describing the plot and a bunch of trivia questions. "Trivia questions" belong in paperbacks not an expensive book and it's clear they are only here for padding the pages. Anyone who needs to know anything about the I Love Lucy episodes will find everything they need and then some in Bart Andrews "I Love Lucy" book, you certainly won't get any major new information here.
The only nice things in this book are the interviews with Keith Thibodeaux ("Little Ricky") and writers Jess Oppenheimer, Madelyn Pugh, and Bob Carroll Jr. The photos of latterday Lucy memorabilia are ok but nothing special.
Lucy diehards want all the books on her of course but unless you find a copy of it super cheap, make this one close to the bottom of your want list.
I LOVE LUCY... 50TH ANNIVERSARY.......2002-09-15
Excellent Book. Highly recommended for any "Lucy" fan. A good read!
Excellent Source of Entertaining Information on I Love Lucy!.......2002-08-29
I received this book as a birthday present, and have enjoyed reading and looking through the numerous amounts of memorable pictures this book has to offer. It takes you through each episode, giving you little known facts about each episode, and provides excellent pictures from each episode. Anyone who is a fan of "I Love Lucy" show strongly consider buying this book!!!
The Best Lucy Book On Earth.......2002-03-04
I was DELIGHTED with this book. It featured biographies, the compleye episode guide with interesting coincidences and facts. I really liked the episode guide. It featured rare seen pictures, script lines, and a summary of every one. Plus, it also tests your lucy knowledge, with over 500 trivia questions and answers. It also features facts many books or episodes don't. For example: When Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz eloped in 1940, where did Desi buy the last-to-minute brass wedding ring he gave to Lucy? Read the book to find out!!

One of the best.......2007-04-11
All's I can say is I forgot that this book was just reproductions of the actual items and I could look at this book for hours.
I Love Lucy.......2007-01-10
This is exactly what I was looking for, a fabulous book for all of us I Love Lucy fans. Enjoy!!!! you won't be sorry.
Great fun, but could have been even better..........2006-11-04
I had to buy this book! It really is tremendously entertaining and a fun book for any Lucy fan to have and read. The layout is very effective, and the text is full of great inside information. One thing bothered me a little bit; the book is not quite Lucille Ball's scrapbook of I Love Lucy, nor is it the fictional Lucy Ricardo's, yet it seems to be a little bit of both. I think a more consistent viewpoint would have made the book more effective. It would have been terrific to see what Lucy Ricardo would have done to scrapbook her various adventures, wouldn't it? And Lucille Ball's scrapbook about her career is equally valid. Having said that, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it's interactive quality makes it a must-have for other Lucy fan's like myself!

Two ok stories, one weak story.......2007-05-26
1st and 2nd stories: 3 stars each. Sex scenes were good. Stories were just ok. They were not long enough to get into interesting character development or plot. The major conflict in the 2nd story was that he paid her money to marry him so she could feel independent. Then he worried whether she loved him or did it for the money. It was a little odd. I did not like the 3rd story to which I give 2 stars. CAUTION SPOILER: Colton gets drunk, meets and marries a showgirl, remembers nothing and leaves the next morning. She finds him 6 weeks later and tells him they are married. Although he remembers nothing, he tells her he feels an immediate love for her and accepts it and says that he wants to stay married. This was too unrealistic and unbelievable for me. One of their arguments was her saying that he really wanted the lead showgirl, not her, but he says no he wanted her. This was not believable because he was too drunk to remember anything, much less which girl he preferred at the time. This was not a good story. Sexual content for all three stories: strong.
BAD BOYS, BAD STORIES?.......2006-10-07
The love scenes are hot but the stories are just too short. No character development.
*BORING*.......2006-07-22
I was so bored with this book I didn't finish reading it. I like Lucy Monroe but was disappointed in this book.
Plot? What Plot?.......2006-02-09
I guess I should have read the fine print - this is basically an anthology book, and I really don't like anthologies, as they lack plotting and developed storylines. Having said that... "3 Brides for 3 Bad Boys" is three sex-infused short stories about three brothers from different mothers in search of virginal brides.
In the first, big brother Rand overhears his brother's ex-fiance Phoebe admit that she would give up her fortune for a week in his bed, which is exactly where he takes her.
In the second, the only legitimate brother, Carter discovers that his father's will requires him to marry in order to maintain control of the empire. He decides to proposition Daisy, the woman he dumped his fiance for, and finds that she is more than willing.
In the final installment, youngest brother (and non-drinker) Colton wakes up in Vegas with a massive hangover and a sexy redheaded showgirl in his bed. He leaves a kiss off letter on the desk, only to be tracked down and find out that she is his wife. Some things that should have stayed in Vegas didn't... Of course he falls for his new wife.
Each story is about 90 pages, which leaves little room for a storyline, since the majority of each story is spent in some sexual situation (and will only take a couple hours to read the entire book). Each would have made a compelling fully developed novel. It was disappointing since Lucy Monroe writes some great stuff. Lucky I got this at the library - you may want to do the same. Better to get "The Real Deal" by Monroe instead.
Like a Romantic Porno Movie in Book Form!!!.......2005-11-30
I titled this review with my tongue in cheek, but the amount of sex in this book is right up there and written in great detail.
Three very dark and sexy brothers, three women who are madly in love with them (naturally exquisitely beautiful the lot of them), and their stories told one at a time with the occasional crossovers which increase towards the end.
Well written and with an interesting storyline, I enjoyed this book and it only took a few hours to read.
A good book for keeping by the bed!
Book Description
Meet three people with a little something special whose love lives are about to turn wild, crazy, sensual, and oh-so-hot. Blame it on the moon? Sure. But who's complaining, anyway
Once in a Blue Moon by Lori Foster
It's all because of that stupid blue moon. That's what Stan Tucker thinks as he walks through Delicious, Ohio, suddenly privy to everyone's innermost thoughts, a gift courtesy of a rare blue moon. What most people have on their minds is boringgrocery lists, work woes, appointments. But not Jenna Rowan's super-private thoughts. The pretty, shy bookstore owner is having decidedly hot thoughts about Stan
naked, sweaty, not-for-primetime thoughts. Stan's lusted after Jenna for ages, but he never thought the proper lady was interested. Now that he knows, he intends to do something about it, and this time, he won't be the only one howling at the moon
Moon Magnetism by Lucy Monroe
Ivy Kendall dreads the full moon. For generations, women in her family have been extremely magnetic on that daywhich was fine fifty years ago but not in the age of hard drives and cell phones. That's why the hotel manager has resisted the technological improvements her boss wants her to implement. Now, the sexy, dynamic Blake Hawthorne is coming to insist on the upgrades in person. Shoot, he'll probably fire her. Being around Blake makes her body go as haywire as a full moon, maybe even more. And as long as she's going to be out of a job soon, there's no reason not to use a little of that magnetism to her advantage, luring him into an elevator where the only electricity that will work is the kind they generate themselves
Moonstruck by Dianne Castell
For years, Julia Simon has had the worst luck, married to a man who cheated on her left, right, and center. Now, the pretty divorcee is ready for her luck to change, and it is
big time. Ever since she unknowingly performed a Blue Moon ritual, Julia's wishes seem to be coming true. So why not wish for wild, unbridled passionate sex with hunky P.I. Marc Adams? Well, because when it happens, it's so amazingly good, that's why. Now, with the blue moon due to end in three days' time, Julia can only wonder if it's just a spell or the start of a whole new life
Be careful of wishful thinking. It just might get you everything

*STAR QUALITY*.......2006-08-31
This is a nice book. Nice, sweet characters. Some fun sex, but mostly nice and sweet! Good quick reads! Hope this helps.
4 1/2 Stars -Pretty Good 'Moon' Theme Anthology.......2006-08-06
I liked this one. Very different than any other anthology that I've read before. All three stories are based upon the effects of the Blue Moon (rare 2nd full moon during a month). Foster's is about a man who can read people's thoughts. Monroe's is about a women who gets 'magnetic' during that time and has to avoid anything with a computer and Castell's is about a women tossing her wedding band in to the fountain at a precise time & moon phase resulting in all her wishes coming true.
In all three stories the couples have steamy love scenes and fall in love. Is it for real or is it the moon?
Very cute stories. A good way to spend a lazy afternoon.
:0) .......2006-07-26
Basically everybody has said what i'm feeling about this book it was a good book i love all 3 but i really really like the first one...
great book to keep for your collection you will not be disappointed
........................ENJOY THE BOOK..........................
Great!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-12-24
Once in a Blue Moon by lori foster was great. Stan Tucker has wanted Jenna Rowan since he first moved to Delicious, Ohio, but he never thought she was intersted in him. That is until the blue moon comes and he suddenly knows all of Jenna's thoughts. The pretty, shy bookstore owner is having some hot ideas about them and they all include burning up the sheets. But now that he knowns she wants him he intends to do something about that before the blue moon ends.
Moon Magnestism by lucy monroe was wonderful too. Ivy Kendall can't stand the full moon. Since long before she was born the women in her family have been extremely magnetic on that day. That's why she has resisted her boss's Blake Hawthrone every suggestion on moderizing the hotel she has been working at. But no longer will Blake put up with this and by the time he's done he'll teach Ivy a lesson in Cooperation that will last a lifetime.
Moonstruck by Dianne Castell was a great read. Juila Simon has had the worst luck for years. Frist she married a jerk who cheated on her. But now Juila's looking to change her luck big time. Ever since she prefromed that blue moon ritual everyhting she wishes suddenly comes true. Like wanting hot passionate sex with P.I. Msrk Adams and guess what it happens. Now she can't help wondering if it's just a spell or the begging of something real.
I have to say that out of all the stories i thought Lucy Monroe's was the best. I LIKED ALL of the stories but lucy's was the one that i just had to read over and over again. They were all a great read.
Absolutely Delightful.......2005-11-06
This is a fabulous collection of three of my favorite romance authors. It was such a bonus that it concerned the paranormal in a very fun, almost Bewitched sort of sensibility.
Lori Foster's story was wonderful for the trademark way her characters love each other and make appropriate moral choices around minor children.
Lucy Monroe writes sex scenes with a whole new attitude and twist and I love it! I also adore her heros. I had read The Real Deal in the last couple of months though so I had some idea her story would be great.
I adored Dianne Castell's story; it was warm, loving, and funny in a big way. The cloakroom, the boathouse, the greenhouse, the roof! It was hilarious! And the dialogue was that snappy, fast paced talking that was so fun in the old t.v show Moonlighting. I loved the way this woman writes.
You really won't go wrong with this purchase.
