Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

5 out of 5 stars Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for Beginners with experience.......2007-02-16

To get anything out of this book you need to have a litle practical experience first. A pure Novice will not get as much out of the book.
With several months experience, you will appreciate this book a lot more. Its slow going, but thats necessary because this is a technical subject. After reading it, you will forget quite a lot of it. Try reading it again a year later. Then it will sink in much better.

For thiose who gave this book a bad review becaus eit was too advanced for them - the problem is with you, not the book. You are not yet at the level to use this book effectively. To read this book as a novice/weak player will not help so much. You need the experience to give you a frame of reference.

After reading this book you can advance to the harder books like teh Card Play Made Easy series and Mollos Card Play Technique.

5 out of 5 stars magnificent and effective teaching material.......2006-03-29

Root's book is concise and effective, there is no superfluous flowery statements in this book and everything presented here is what you need to winning bridge.
A polished book, you will like it, but be sure you have some very basic bridge knowledges before reading it!

3 out of 5 stars Too many examples, too little explanation.......2006-01-22

The book covers a great deal of material, but it was a bit disappointing regarding the explanation of certain plays. It is certain very thorough as for examples, it offers a very wide view of possible holdings and explains very well why a cartain play works in that circumstance, but doesn't explain which guidelines to follow to decide when to adopt such a play. The material covered is though very much, and anyone that thinks he/she could derive the rule from the example, would find the book very plesurable. On the other hand, if you wanted a really good book by Bill Root, try Commonsense Bidding and Modern Bridge Conventions. I haven't read his book on defence, but that looks promising as well

5 out of 5 stars Another winning effort by Bill Root.......2005-09-27

"How to Play a Bridge Hand" is the definitive primer on declarer play. No, it does not teach advanced play technique like backwash squeezes or smother plays. What it does is provide a novice to intermediate player an overview of every aspect of dummy play. The discussions attempt to identify every common card play situation, and the quizzes reinforce this material. If it seems dry at times, that's only because Root apparently wanted to pack as much teaching into as little space as possible - and he succeeds admirably.

This is a must-read book for anyone wanting to begin to improve their dummy play.

4 out of 5 stars Akin to chewing sawdust.......2005-05-21

I am a newbie, here, but having read a bit of this book and Watson's one, I have to say the following: both are excellent books, but both suffer from extreme teaching mentalities. This one is terse, you have to expand the text and analyse it; Watson's book on the other hand spoonfeeds the reader who has to condense and summarise everything in it.

Root's book is dry but effective; be prepared to really work out the examples not just the quizes and you will end up with another book of your own notes; in the end, you really learn the topic.

Also, some person here complained that this book is not for a beginner; I am a beginner. This book has prerequisites which are covered in the free software supplied on the website of the American Bridge Association (ACBL?). Once you go through that teaching tool, you are ready for this book, no problem.

I highly reccomend this book. Terse, focused to the point at hand (ha, ha), it is dry reading, but highly effective if you decide to expand on the text on your own on the margins.

Do not read it passively.

5 out of 5 stars Enthusiastically recommended for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children everywhere........2007-04-14

Kindergarten teacher Jill Frankel Hauser presents Science Play, a compendium of over 65 safe, age-appropriate activities designed to foster creativity and a sense of discovery in children ages 2 to 6. Step-by-step instructions and simple black-and-white illustrations walk readers through activities such as observing earthworms at work, making puddle prints with food coloring, water, and a simple medicine dropper, or gathering and sorting rocks. Young children will most likely need an adult's help with reading the instructions, but the activities themselves are easy to do and highly inexpensive. Enthusiastically recommended for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children everywhere.

5 out of 5 stars A fun way to introduce science to little kids!.......2006-02-13

It's absolutely perfect for our 3- and 5-year olds! It's a great way to introduce science concepts to them. The experiments are simple to prepare, very interesting and lots of fun. Also, most of the materials are common items used at home. We have done a number of the experiments without spending much money at all. It comes very handy, too, during rainy or snowy days. The activities help keep the kids from getting bored inside the house.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding resource.......2004-02-08

My kids loved these fun learning activities. Enough to keep them busy through early childhood. Nothing canned here. . . all creative and discovery-focused. Makes biology and even physics accessable to very young children. You can't go wrong with this outstanding guide.

5 out of 5 stars This series is GREAT.......2003-07-31

This is really handy for the budding scientist in your preschooler. Experiements are written so that the early reader can understand and do the experiments on their own (it lets the reader know when a parent needs to help or supervise, such as when scissors are involved) and has question that the parent can use to further expand on projects. Also check this whole series, such as math play, arts and crafts from around the world, rainy day play, weather, shapes, etc. My son loves these activies. Plus for the price, you can't beat it. (...)

3 out of 5 stars Dissatisfied in Annandale.......2003-01-12

This book had some neat ideas and experiments, but not enough explanations for them. I have a very inquisitive 4 year old and this book just didn't satisfy his curiosity or my expectations.

Product Description

Roy Cooke has been beating the hell out of poker games since 1972. His Card Player Magazine column is poker’s longest continuously running commentary. He was a pioneer in the Internet Poker Industry. His rule book has become an industry standard. He is a champion for player’s rights, fighting harder than anyone for more protection against cheats, especially online. Real Poker II contains all his Play of Hand columns from 1992-1999, and is widely considered an essential on any poker player’s bookshelf.

3 out of 5 stars For limit holdem players, not for No Limit holdem players.......2007-05-22

the book is the reprint of a number of articles published by the author over time. It is well written, and the information is definitely of high calibre. It is however best used by limit holdem players; as no limit holdem strategy differs widely from limit strategy.
With that proviso in mind, i think those interested will find their dollars recieve fair value from the author.

5 out of 5 stars The best of WInning Play of Hand columns in poker.......2006-04-27

REAL POKER II: THE PLAY OF HANDS offers up a winning set of his Play of Hand columns from 1992-99. From right and wrong plays and misreading to deciding when to call, REAL POKER II: THE PLAY OF HANDS is for avid players who would be better.

5 out of 5 stars The Play of the Hands will improve your game.......2005-03-23

In each chapter, Cooke focuses on one hand. He lays out the scene, how the hand played out, and what his thought process was on each hand.
His goal is to make as much money as possible on his winners, and to lose as little as possible on his losers (a good goal).
While sometimes he may come across as a bit of a know-it-all, this is an invaluable book that addresses many of the issues poker players face at the felt, including Pot Odds, Implied Odds, how to play in loose games v. tight games, short-handed v. full games, and more.
Each chapter is about 3 pages, making this an ideal book for those who don't often have large chunks of time to devote to reading.
If you play Limit Hold 'Em and want to make more money, buy this book, put it in your bathroom, and read one chapter a day. Your game will be better for it.

5 out of 5 stars Audrey Grant is Trump When it Comes to Bridge!.......2007-03-23

If you are new to bridge I highly recommend purchasing all four of Audrey Grant books in the ACBL Series... CLUB, DIAMOND, HEART AND SPADE. She is unquestionably the best bridge teacher for a novice. In layman's terms she is able to explain and unravel the mysteries of bridge. If you begin with the club book and progress through the series as they increase in difficulty... club, diamond, heart and spade you will be able to teach yourself how to become proficient in bridge painlessly. Her books are written in lesson formats... and they are used by many people who instruct bridge classes i.e. adult ed. Buy one... I'm sure you'll add the other three to your library. I also highly recommend her "Bridge at A Glance" pocket guide which is a quick synopsis of bidding and the appropriate respones thereof. I bought many bridge books before I stumbled upon Audrey Grant and wish I had found her books first! Good luck!

2 out of 5 stars Being Revised.......2006-05-14

This is an elementary book on Play of the Hand. Watson's Classic Book on Play of the Hand is much better. This book is part of the ACBL Beginner Series and has bidding reviews. The ACBL has finally realized that their bidding system in the Club Series and Diamond Series is outdated. The books are being rewritten. I would wait until the new edition is published and only buy this book as part of a class taught by an ACBL Certified instructor.

Book Description

Helen Oxenbury's delightful board books, featuring her sweet and cuddly babies at play, are back with a whole new look.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars an ideal choice for babies and toddlers.......2007-01-26

Clap Hands, together with Tickle, Tickle, Say Goodnight, and All Fall Down, is a lovely set of books showing babies having fun together. Sweet, simple illustrations are just right for little ones. Oxenbury's babies look like they could toddle right off the pages!

In my grad school children's literature classes, Helen Oxenbury was held up as the model for good books for babies. Unlike so many board books that are abridged versions of picture books written for older children, Oxenbury's books are created for babies. The illustrations, length, and text of each book are perfectly age-appropriate and great fun for little ones.

I tell library visitors all the time that it's never too early to begin reading to a child. Books like these are the ones I recommend again and again for the youngest listeners.

5 out of 5 stars My Baby's Got Rhythm--Fun and Realistic Toddler Play!.......2006-10-06

The talented and prolific Helen Oxen bury ("We're Going on a Bear Hunt," the "Tom and Pippa" series) is a master at board books as well as picture books aimed at a slightly older audience. Clap Hands is a large format board book (there should be more of these!) showing four adorably dressed youngsters at play and snack time. For once, we see kids as they really look: Wearing oversized hand-me-downs that show evidence of the kids' pulling and tugging at them, and generally flopping around.

"Clap Hands" has a joyful feeling, and somehow Oxenbury captures the spontaneity of baby and toddler play, and the conflicting demands of seemingly unlimited energy and inevitable fatigue. Our four kids dance, eat snacks play cardboard "horns" and pots-and- pans percussion, and give big hand waving smiles to Daddy and Mom.

Board books are so brief--eight pages here--that they're like short stories, the best ones pay attention to every word and detail. Oxenbury uncannily gets it all right, from the above-mentioned clothing, to the off-kilter movement, the mix of solo and cooperative play, and even the utensils and slices of fruit at snack. The uncluttered, large format pictures have a nice color balance, and the playful text reads easily ("Clap hands, dance and spin, open wide and pop it in...") One of several in Ms. Oxenbury's baby book series, this is just right for reading to either one listener or a group.

5 out of 5 stars Great kids book!.......2005-10-17

All 3 of my girls enjoyed this book (a series of 4). I even bought the set of 4 books for my nephew and niece. They are quick, catchy reads. Kids love the big pictures of the babies.

1 out of 5 stars You can keep this book........2004-12-08

As the parent of a child who was a voracious reader; (we read tons of books together when she was small) I really was not at all impressed with this book. I purchased this book for my friend's little boy, based on the reviews here and was so disappointed. Granted some time had passed since I bought children's books, but I have started buying them again for my grandaughter. I returned it because I felt too embarassed to give this book. The only cute feature about this book is the eye catching illustrations that would appeal to toddlers. Story or content wise, it's about as much fun to read as watching paint dry.

5 out of 5 stars Clap Hands.......2001-06-24

We received this book as a gift when my son was 6 months old. We now have all of these books. My son is intrigued by the pictures and wants us to read it over and over! He's 15 months now and still loves it! A great book!

Book Description

Mark Zupan was a college soccer star, out drinking one night with friends. Tired from the game and from a few too many beers, he decided to take a nap in the back of his best friend's pickup truck. Still asleep when the vehicle started and drove away, he was suddenly jolted awake as the truck crashed. Mark was thrown into a canal and was stuck in frigid water, barely clinging to a tree branch, for fourteen hours. When he was finally rescued, Mark discovered the terrible truth—he'd broken his neck and would most likely be a quadriplegic, facing life in a wheelchair, with only limited use of his four limbs.

At first Mark's only goal was to walk again, and when that proved impossible, he fell into the depths of despair and retreated from the world and from the people closest to him, increasingly bitter and furious with himself. But through love, friendship, and an introduction to a new sport, Mark realized that he could live a more-than-full life in a chair and has gone on to create an existence that's truly exceptional. Now a Paralympic athlete (playing quad rubgy, aka "murderball") who's starred in a movie, Mark explains in his memoir that, in a way, getting hurt was the best thing that could ever have happened to him—and that despite people's prejudices, a guy in a chair still gets to have sex with his girlfriend, party with his friends, and even crowd-surf at Pearl Jam shows. Inspiring, defiant, and revealing, GIMP will appeal not only to fans of Murderball but also to anyone ready to be motivated by a touching, captivating, and heartfelt story about triumphing over adversity.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome read.......2007-07-19

This is a great book. Inspiring, entertaining, hilarious, and real. Mark doesn't pull any punches in this. It is not a self-pity book nor does it try to lecture the reader. It is a real account of someone who is very inspiring, yet doesn't pretend to be what he isn't.

Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. Awesome!!!

4 out of 5 stars psgator.......2007-05-06

Mark Zupan makes you think about what you have, not what you do not have.

He may be in a chair, but he is not handicap. Mark Zupan speak frankly and openly about his life before and after. He does not blame anyone for his injury.

Make you think you life is O.K. and despite what happens you can survive and go on.

Life is not so bad.

5 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended.......2007-02-07

A truly moving and inspirational story. In less capable hands autobiographies like this can come off as sappy or insincere - not this one.

Clearly, you'd be laid low by the devastating realization that you're going to be confined to a wheel chair for the rest of your life, but not as low as getting dumped by your long-time girlfriend after the accident. Mark's not afraid to bear his soul which makes for a really empathetic character and a really engaging book.

5 out of 5 stars Thank You.......2007-01-07

A++!! I never read, in fact i've made it through college not reading more than 500 pages. Even given that I read this book cover to cover in 5 days. This book is an inspirational story about not giving up and being yourself. Once you start you cant put it down. The story couldnt be better if it was fiction. The truth is that i was recently paralyzed and looking for something to help cope. After seeing the movie "murderball", my girlfriend bought me this book. I cant thank her enough. Paralyzed or not, this book is great.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Read!!!.......2007-01-04

I just finished this book and was completely blown away from page one to the end. I am utterly speechless. I was very intrigued with quad rugby after seeing MURDERBALL and when I saw Mark Zupan's book in an airport, I knew I had to read this. His brutal honesty and ability to grasp life and hardship by the huevos is clearly demonstrated in his telling of how his entire life changed -- in many ways, as he describes, for the better -- following his accident. His tale is one that everyone should read!! A very highly recommended and fast book to read! If I ever have the chance to meet this guy, I'll definitely have to by a round (I just hope that I can keep up with him).

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The utimate bridge book.......2006-01-04

First, my mother tongue is French, I'm sure you will excuse my style. In the past, I read Mollo, Kantar, Grant... always on a quest to find a great and complete bridge book and never entirely satisfied... too simplistic, too advanced, hard to read, poor teaching skills...
I wanted to find a book that was covering both the dummy play and the defense. Also, I wanted to revisit the very basics, to have a solid start, and then to go gradually into more complex techniques, covering virtually all aspects of the play, including the more advanced techniques. I was looking for the ultimate book: the Bridge Bible written by a brilliant teacher!

When I was not really looking for a book anymore, I finally tried Watson's book. I hesitated at first, because I was told his style is a bit dry and too detailed. EUREKA!!! I regret not having started with this book the very first day I played bridge. This is the ultimate BIBLE! Not only it fulfilled all my above expectations, but it goes one step beyond, he is a genius, each chapter is a revelation. I did not learn techniques; I learned the principles underlying the techniques. It is like being thought secret knowledge by a wise guru, realizing how simple everything was in the first place. His style is clear, concise, and straight to the point, but he covers a lot of material. His summaries are ideal for fast and easy review. I don't have to mention how drastically my level of play changed.

My quest is now over, I found the Grail, I now understand why Watson's book is recommended by most schools around the world. This is probably the only book you will every need about the play of the hand.

5 out of 5 stars a masterpiece.......2005-12-30

Easy to read, well organized, this masterpiece needs to be studied carefully, a must have for any serious player!

5 out of 5 stars Should be in everyone's library.......2005-07-01

I have 40 bridge books. This one teaches you the 90% of bridge, and all the others the rest 10%. Top classic.

5 out of 5 stars When Only the Best is Good Enough.......2005-03-26

There is no other book comparable to this book for learning, improving and reviewing. I bought this book 30 years ago and I still go back and read some of the advanced chapters. Although the book is a little wordy, it pays to concentrate on what Watson is saying, if you are really interested in being a good bridge player.

5 out of 5 stars The classic book on play of the hand.......2003-05-02

Every accomplished bridge player has a copy of this book, but don't expect them to lend it to you. This is the oldest and most comprehensive guide to understanding the cards. There is a wealth of information on suit combinations, basic strategies, and other principles of declarer play. You won't be able to read it in a weekend, or even a month, so plan to take it slowly and study each chapter carefully. A bestseller for over 65 years. My mother gave me this book almost 40 years ago, and I still find valuable information in it.

5 out of 5 stars Great movment books for primary age kids!.......2007-09-24

Great book for kids of many ages. My two year old grandson LOVES it....but so do my first graders. It's a great book to read when the class needs to get up and move around...it has become a class favorite! I had never seen it until a colleague who joined our staff this year shared it with me. It will be a book I'll be giving to LOTS of people in the future!

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book, Wish There Was a Companion CD.......2007-06-15

I originally bought this for my 9 month old, but my 2 year old gets more out of it right now. It's a fun, active, educational book. Because my girls are so young I just wish there was a cd so that we could play it since it's hard to use my hands to hold the book and act out the activities at the same time.

5 out of 5 stars Fun for All Ages.......2007-05-10

I have read this book to various ages (preschool 3 yrs old through 1st grade). As my children have grown,I have always read this book to their class. A 1st grade teacher asked where I got it and I am getting her a copy as her end of school gift. It holds the kids attention with the simple words, fun actions and sing-song type way that it is written. You cannot go wrong adding this to your personal library - it comes in paperback too!

5 out of 5 stars Fun, interactive book for the 2-5yo set.......2006-03-11

Our son (age 2 now, about 18 months when he first started really being able to play along) enjoyed this book so much at a friend's house that we had to buy one of our own, and we've given it as a gift to others, too. The pictures are fun and imaginative, and the simple rhyme is cute, but the real magic is in watching kids follow the book's instructions - turn around, find something red, growl like a lion, etc. They get to practice following directions, hone their motor skills, burn off some energy, and have a sense of accomplishment about doing all the actions - and, of course, the kids just think they're having fun! We love this book!

5 out of 5 stars FUN FUN Book!.......2002-04-07

This is a really fun book! We bought this for my daughter when she was about 1 1/2 yrs. old and it became her absolute favorite! She actually got one as a gift and the pages became ripped and warped so I ordered her the little 'travel size' as I call it, with the hard pages and we took it everywhere. It's just a neat book with lots of actions your little one can do. Highly recommend.
