recommended.......2007-08-09
when i opened the packages from amazon, then i looked this book.. i was thinking when i would finish it.. hehehe cause there're 1001 puzzle of sudoku.. 1 book for 1 year.. it's a good book
Real Giant.. Good for addicts :).......2007-06-28
Really giant book with 2 puzzles in each page. My main disappointment is the low recycled paper quality and the mistakes in few of the puzzles in the 1 and 2 stars level. I expected it to be well prepared by an expert!! Overall, it's worth what you paid for.
LOTS of puzzles.......2007-06-14
There are lots of puzzles but there are also some typos in the puzzles(i.e.repeated numbers). You have to check the answers to correct the puzzles before working them. The answers are correct. I am still doing the 200 Easy puzzles and learning a lot about solving. Have had the book for several months and still not 1/3 through. But I am also not an expert solver.

New to Sudoku.......2007-02-02
This is a great book. I'm starting with the easy puzzles and working my way up to the harder ones. I bought one for my dad and he is now addicted as well.
Giant Book of Sudoku Presented by Will Shortz.......2007-01-19
This book will keep me busy for a long time. Just what I was looking for.
Will Shortz.......2006-05-30
Will Shortz, need I say more, what he touches turns to gold, he and Carol Vorderman are greatest.
300 puzzles.......2006-01-27
Okay, I'm hooked! This is the latest puzzle book I picked up. I love doing Sudoku puzzles, and this ones pretty decent.
Not too bad.......2005-12-15
I agree it's a bit big, but on the other hand you get all the puzzles you'll ever need - maybe even a bit more than you need, but then you can do what we did and rip the puzzles out and split them between family members. I know, it's an awful thing to do to a book, but still... In summary, high quality puzzles, just like we've come to expect.

Fun for the whole family.......2006-06-02
My two teenage girls love this book! Having done many of the puzzles myself I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It's great fun for teens and adults!
Good times if you have good eyes.......2006-03-07
I was a little disappointed when I recieved this puzzle book. I realize that there are 1001 puzzles but I never thought the print wound be so small. I can not use it.
This will keep you busy for a while.......2005-11-27
This book packs a lot of entertainment for people of all ages.
As the title suggests ,there are 1001 puzzles. That is not to suggest that there is no similarity in these puzzles. There are several of each type and usually of different difficulty. Each puzzle has one,two or three dots giving an idea of difficulty. In a family the younger will find the 1-dot puzzles much more to their level, while those who really like a challenge will prefer the 3-dot ones.
There are all sorts of puzzles such as;identify the differences,.connect-the-dots,mazes,lateral thinking, fit togethers, cog puzzles, scales puzzles, matchstick, cubes, dominos, paths, matching pairs, silhouettes, arrows, all kinds of square puzzles, and on and on.
Another very interesting thing about this book is that it was published in 2004,and contains many ,about 25,Sukodu puzzles. This shows that these puzzles are not Japanese in origin as so many of the books that came out in the Sukodu craze in 2005,suggests.The only thing new is the name Sukodu. In this book they are called,Nine Numbers, and come in three levels of difficulty.
This is the type of book that can be left for different people to pick up and thumb through, find a puzzle that grabs their interest and have a go at it.There is no reason to do them in order. Also, you will find some types of puzzles, you prefer more than others,so pick and choose as you like.
Included in the book,is a complete set of answers.
I was so impressed with this book that I bought one for a neighbor friend and his kids, and two more for my sons and their families. No doubt it will provide endless hours of enjoyment and will give their minds good exercise.I always enjoy seeing the excitement of a kid when they solve a puzzle.
I must also point out that the book is excellent in quality in all respects. The paper is very heavy.Printing and color is super;and on top of that the construction is so good it will take a tremendous amount of use and even abuse. If a soft pencil is used ,marks can be erased and puzzles can be done again later or by others.
Quite frankly,I am amazes that such a high quality book can be sold at such a reasonable cost. The publishers should be proud of this book and puzzlers will surely appreciate it.
For a puzzle book with lots of variety, suitable for all ages and difficulty; It would be hard to find a bettr choice.
No OMNIHEURIST (puzzle solver) should pass this one up.
Book Description
These amazing puzzles—hundreds of them—will keep children involved for hours! Each one offers plenty of optical fun, plus an engaging mental challenge. Some of the pictorial conundrums involve figuring out relative size (the length of an astronaut and his shadow, for example). Others present “impossible” structures, including a very strange house and a unique sculpture. Or young solvers can try to pinpoint the differences between two very similar images; stare at a wavy pattern to see if it will eventually make them seasick; or watch a leprechaun turn into a sumo wrestler in front of their very eyes. With so much variety, they’ll never be bored!
Book Description
Look up and down, and diagonally, too: there's a "buried treasure" of words to uncover, hidden among the random letters. Young puzzle and language lovers can show what sharp eyes they have with this huge collection of word searches. Each one has a different theme, from Things That Fly (airplane, mosquito, flag) to Martial Arts (aikido, kickboxing), from Sundaes (caramel, cherry, yummy) to Wild Cats (cheetah, ocelot, puma). There are even 24 super School Time terms to track down. Only the best and most interesting word searches are found here--hundreds of them--and so are the answers, in the back, for anyone who needs a little help.

Wouldnt Buy again.......2007-09-21
This book for priced so high I thought you would get a series of books for the cost. I buy books like these at dollar tree for a dollar for one and paid over 12.oo for this
For children........2006-03-25
I purchased this thinking it would contain word searches for the adult mind and instead received a very large book with enormous font, childish pictures, very small word searches and easy words.
This was obviously meant for children. Not necessarily a waste of money, but definitely not what I wanted.

Good for the young child.......2004-01-05
Keeps the preschool aged kids interested. Children over eight may find it too easy or boring and could loose interest in it quickly. But a good book to have on hand for sure.

Colorful and Interesting Designs for Young Maze Fans.......2003-07-07
My daughter is only four but all the mazes she does are recommended for children aged seven to ten. She is certainly not doing aged seven to ten math or reading or anything else so I am suspicious of maze age recommendations. Anyway, in my opinion, these mazes are great for ages four to six. They are colorful and fun, but not too difficult. I think the average maze in this book takes my four-year-old two minutes to complete. I want her to slow down a little and keep her pencil inside the lines but she likes to solve it as fast as possible. They really are fun designs so I make sure we talk about the design before she flips the page to quickly solve the next one.
Great quiet time activity book.......2000-06-11
This maze book is wonderful. My 4-year old LOVES mazes and had a great time with this book.
A very well done book!.......1999-08-27
I purchased this book for my 6 year old grandson and I had a wonderful time with it as well. I am now going to purchase one for myself. I am delighted with this maze puzzle book which is all in color and full of surprises!

Great Mental Exercise!.......2005-08-15
This is the second 500 puzzle book I have purchased. I use it every morning with my mom who is 93. We do the puzzles together and sometimes she does them by herself. It is great to keep her mind active. The large print is wonderful. We have had lots of fun over the years doing these puzzles in the daily newspaper. Now the book is terrific! We can do more than one each day and have the answers if we mess up!
DLVOE TI (That's Jumblespeak for LOVED IT).......2000-06-14
I'm a huge Jumble fan and I've been doing the Jumble in the daily newspaper for years.
This book is lots of fun for Jumble lovers young and old.
