Wouldnt Buy again.......2007-09-21
This book for priced so high I thought you would get a series of books for the cost. I buy books like these at dollar tree for a dollar for one and paid over 12.oo for this
For children........2006-03-25
I purchased this thinking it would contain word searches for the adult mind and instead received a very large book with enormous font, childish pictures, very small word searches and easy words.
This was obviously meant for children. Not necessarily a waste of money, but definitely not what I wanted.

Book Description
Dolch sight words should be recognized instantly in order for reading to progress smoothly. This book uses all of the Dolch sight words for second graders and many for first graders.
The delightful stories and poems have these themes: accepting yourself; sharing; caring about others; kindness; being grateful; doing what is right instead of yielding to peer pressure; sharing rather than fighting; telling the truth; being considerate; being careful about strangers; and realizing it is not your fault when someone is abusive.
This book can be used for regular, remedial, or enrichment instruction because the ages of the children are not shown. Most stories only have animal characters.

Excellent Teaching Tool.......2004-02-25
This Dolch Work Book #3 includes fascinating stories, poems, fables, and word searches that are based on the Dolch Word List, the most commonly used words for beginning readers. Lesson plans and worksheets are offered on the Learning Abilities web site in conjunction with the book. This Dolch Book, which is the third in a series, is an excellent teaching tool for all children who are learning to read, but in particular, for learning disabled children. In her book Learning Disabilities: There is a Cure, educational expert, Addie Cusimano, devotes an entire chapter on the Right Reading Approach. In it she discusses the importance of using a beginning reader that is based on the Dolch sight list.
A Great Book for Beginning Readers.......2002-11-28
My granddaughter is a beginning reader. I found this book to be a wonderful way for her to learn new words gradually. Once a new word was introduced, it is used throughout the book in other stories. It reminded me of the old Sally, Dick and Jane books that I read in first grade. My granddaughter's favorite story was the one entitled "Under the Can." She squealed with delight when she discovered what was "under the can." The "word find" exercises in the book were fun for my granddaughter also. They were a good way for her to practice finding and reading the new words she had learned in the book.

The book includes crosswords, cryptograms, crostics, word searches, anagrams, trivia quizzes, and other popular puzzles suitable for both quick trips and extended stays.

Best puzzle book series ever!.......2006-05-31
If you like puzzles and lots of them, this is the book! There are (soon to be) four books in the series and I can hardly wait for the next once my husband and I have finished one. The style is witty and the puzzle makers are all names that I recognize from the New York Times crossword puzzles, so the quality is excellent.

Names of family members, hobbies, pets, and other related terms appear within each puzzle — backward, forward, diagonally, vertically, and horizontally — and in a separate list of clues. First Word Search.......2007-04-09
This word search book was just what I was looking for for my first graders. It gives them extra practice on identifying and spelling sight words in a fun and different way! Check out the other books in the series.
Book Description
Here’s more fun for wordoku lovers: a third “Official” puzzle collection! And this time, the there’s something new: several 10x10 puzzles to go along with the 9x9’s and 12x12’s. Wordoku follows the same basic principles as sudoku, except that solvers fill the grid with letters. Under each grid, the letters for that puzzle appear, in a pronounceable anagram. Then, just like the original, you arrange them so that every letter appears in every column, every row, and every box just one time. Unlike sudoku, the fun doesn’t end there, because the answer to the anagram lies buried inside the grid. But beware: in some cases the anagram actually has more than one possible solution!
Book Description
Twenty-six double-page puzzles invite youngsters to figure out names of pictured objects — kite, doll, bear, ball, more — and then locate each word on search-a-word grid. One to 4 letters of target words are given as hints. And when the search is over, the coloring fun begins.

Fun Activity for Students.......2006-11-16
I am tutoring a fifth grade English Language Learner. She gets fidgety with the regular work and I break it up with exercises from this book. She loves them. It is great for vocabulary review or acquisition. It is also good for providing background information that my student is lacking.
