Book Description
In Melbourne’s urban underworld, there’s a nightclub for every fantasy and desire. But for Riley Jenson, one such club has become an obsession. Riley, a rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, hasn’t come in pursuit of pleasure but of an unknown killer who’s been using the steamy nightspot as his hunting grounds.
Leave it to Riley to find the only ticket into the heavily guarded club: Jin, a deliciously hot-bodied bartender who might just provide the key to unmasking a killer unlike any other in the Directorate’s experience. Taunted by a former colleague turned rogue, distracted by an ex-lover’s attentions, Riley follows Jin into a realm of pleasure she could never have imagined. And as danger and passion ignite, a shocking mystery begins to unravel—one where Riley herself becomes the ultimate object of desire....

Dangerous Games.......2007-06-21
I think this is her best book yet. She did tone down the sex.Book one had alot more sex. now if this upsets you don't read.It is about werewolfs
and their desires with every full moon. The only thing that i don't like
is Riley seems to fogot that she is only half werewolf. So All the things she wish for are things that werewolfs would desire.I think if she look into her vampire side she could be very happy. Also what ever Quinn might have done to her. I don't think he meet any harm.I do think he is maddy in love with her and was thinking she might get hurt.I don't think Kellen is her soulmate.I think he will show his ture colors when she tells him her job.But as we wait for Riley&Quinn together again. I think it would be fun to see her with cole.

I am soaking wet, and then I run into Gautier, smelly vampire. It is time to take that creep out, but damn he is one scary dude. Later, Quinn takes me out to dinner and we are followed by something I have never seen before. Well, to be honest, we could not see them at all, like in nothing there. Quinn and I block-in the car, running up to it and it is empty. Then I find out: Yes, Virginia, there is a hell and there are demons... That should have been my first clue that my life was going straight to hell in a hand basket and naturally I would be right in the middle of said basket.
DANGEROUS GAMES is by authoress Keri Arthur. In the fourth book of the Riley Jenson Guardian series, Riley is once again knee deep in Guardian business fighting, killing, and sexing her way through a multitude of characters. Snappy dialogues, descriptive language and a brilliant premise makes this a must read book. Ms. Arthur is the ultimate storyteller with a bite!
Riley finds herself embroiled in a mage of trouble, literally. She finds herself in a VIP type club and meets a sexy bartender that totally turns her sexual crank. But there is more to him and she knows it. It is Riley's job to find out how demons have been brought into her world, and heaven knows, a Guardian's job is never done. She will find out more than she ever wanted to know about magic and spells. Who is behind all these evil doings? She has a feeling Gautier might be tied into all this, but is he?
Are you a fan of Ms. Arthur's? If not, you will be when you get your hands on this series. Riley is a heroine that we all want to be: tough, sexy, and smart as a whip. This reviewer highly recommends DANGEROUS GAMES!

Good, but not as good.......2007-06-07
I rated the first 3 books in this series with 5 stars and had high hopes for this one as well. It sounds strange to say I was disappointed in a book that was "only 4 stars," but I was.
The ongoing saga of the clone labs through the first 3 books kept the action going. The interactions between Riley and the other main characters added to the story and really gives a feel for the characters, beyond being just words on a page. Plus, the sex in those books was HOT!
This one seems to drift a little, like the author had to come up with a plot and just threw a bunch of ideas in a bowl, mixed it up, and looked at what fell out. The only secondary character who plays much of a role is Quinn, and he's a total (fill-in-word-here) in this book. (Riley finally gives him the boot.) The story came from nowhere and when it was over, it hadn't gone anywhere. Riley's verbal sparring with Jack's new secretary were stupid. And finally, with the exception of Riley's one scene will Kellan, the sex scenes were all filled with pain and darkness.
I will buy book 5 when it comes out. I just hope that one gets back to what made the first 3 so good...
Loved It !!!.......2007-05-14
So far i've read all four of Keri Arthur's "Riley Jensen series" and loved them all. Each is packed with action, romance and intrigue. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who is interested in paranormal romances.
Dangerous Games.......2007-05-13
I enjoy the Riley Jenson series and find her an interesting mix of a traditional and modern woman. Am hoping that she and the vampire love in her life are able to sort their differences. Looking forward to her next adventure and learning more of her 'tribe'. It is always good to find new authors as I read very quickly and prolifically.

Book Description
Navy SEAL Clint “Iceman” McIntire didn’t earn his nickname by being a coward. Or a quitter. Having crushed an infamous drug cartel in Colombia, Clint was nothing short of an American hero. Now he’s home, on a much-needed leave, but instead of some R&R, he finds himself neck-deep in trouble with his best friend’s little sister, Morganna Chavez, the only woman who has the power to bring him to his knees. . .
Morganna has been secretly working with the DEA to uncover a thriving date-rape drug, which leads her to a shadowy faction that is more deadly than anything her team has ever encountered. Now it’s up to Clint to keep this beautiful, determined agent out of harm’s way, even while the passion between them threatens to consume them. Soon Clint’s greatest mission will be not just keeping Morganna safe, but getting her into his arms and never letting go.

ALPHA MALES sigh sigh...............2007-09-10
wow i have only just discovered Lora Leigh a couple of weeks ago and have only read 4 of her books, 2 being erotica & 2 from this SEAL series and i have to say i'm sooooooo glad i found her!!! i love the SEAL/Special Forces/Cop action romances with steamy sex & alpha males, and Dangerous Games fitted right in smack bang with EVERYTHING mentioned. I thought Genita Low's Shadowy Assassins series was great but Lora Leigh's SEAL series is that next notch up for the steamy & very exciting sex scenes. It was very much a turn on & fitted very well the alpha male characters. It's not as explicit as her erotica books but definitely way more exciting than many other suspense romance authors out there. The novel length was just right too and the storyline line was everything i expected. Many suspense romance novels tend to focus too much on the suspense plot (ie what the bad guy was thinking & who he was gonna do next etc...)than the relationship between the hero/heorine but Dangerous Games was much about the romance & love aspect with the action as a sideline story. I love that protectiveness all these heros have for their woman. I've also read her newest SEAL book - Hidden Agendas which is also very good but Dangerous Games Clint is so my alpha male hero. Great book had to finish in one sitting and can't wait for Ian & Kira's story. now i just have to go find Reno/Raven story.
Loved It.......2007-08-03
So far I've read all but Hidden Agendas in Lora Leigh's Tempting Seals series. So far this is my favorite (but all are wonderful). I enjoyed Clint's story and wished the book was sooooooooooooo much longer. =)
Lora Leigh puts together some hot steamy scenes. No matter what she writes it's a good read.
Clint will remain one of my favorite heros in a romance book.
The hero and heroine in this book had me needing to read more. A page turner from the get go.
If you love to read hot romance this book will give you that.
Best book in the Tempting SEALs series.......2007-07-30
After reading all four currently available stories in the Tempting SEALs series, this is by far the best book in the series. I didn't want to put the book down! Book 4 wasn't quite as engaging as this book, but I look forward to reading book 5 when it becomes available.
Tempting SEALs #2; The series is worthwhile.......2007-07-23
The second Tempting SEALs is a novel, "Dangerous Games". As we learned in Tempting SEALs #1, Raven is the sister of Reno's best friend, Clint. Reno's sister, Morganna, is Raven's best friend. And just like Raven grew up loving Reno, Morganna grew up loving Clint. And Clint loved her back. But Clint had some dark secrets that he shared with no one, and he felt very strongly that he would be very, very bad for Morganna. So once Morganna was a grown woman, Clint concentrated on staying as far away from her as possible, hoping she would find someone else and be happy. Like Reno, alpha-alpha male Clint was a SEAL, and much of the time he spent away from Morganna was spent in the hot spots of the world doing dirty, dangerous work. What he didn't count on was that his little spitfire, Morganna, would join the DEA and get involved in a domestic mission that would eventually catch her up in an unresolved international bust in which Clint was instrumental. In spite of his best efforts, Clint was thrown together with Morganna for an extended period of time -- just the opportunity Morganna had been looking for.
Note: Explicit light BSDM, implied heavier BSDM. The erotic passages are fewer and briefer than in Leigh's Ellora's Cave books, but no less effective or explicit.
Even if you're put off by the BSDM in this book, please try the others: The novella "Reno's Chance" in Honk If You Love Real Men (Tempting SEALs, Book 1), the novella "For Maggie's Sake" in Real Men Do It Better (Tempting SEALs, Book 3), and Hidden Agendas (Tempting SEALs, Book 4).
Voracious Reader.......2007-06-09
Initally this book was hard for me to really get into. Which is unsual for me with her books. I like the story line (Seals) and the BDSM/Erotica that I have come to expect from Lora. I think reading the other reviews that there were some discrepancies but when reading the story I am not trying to pick the book apart. I like the hero more than the herione. They have known and loved each other since childhood. He is the hard bodied sexy Seal and she the smart mouth rebellious girl interest. I think the struggle Clint went through was too long and I had to read portions regarding the drug cartel twice to understand who was who. I already have book three and will get four when it comes out. I have been a fan of here work since the Bound Hearts series.

Though few hunters actually make the trip to Africa in pursuit of The Big Five - elephant, rhino, leopard, lion, and Cape buffalo - the popularity of rifles designed to take such dangerous game has burgeoned in recent years. Here, the author, a widely recognized firearms expert and a veteran of many safaris, explores in detail the rifles and calibers that are drawing attention from big-bore aficionados.

In Dangerous Weapons: The French, John Watson takes a revolutionary look at one of the most famous and widely-played chess openings: the French Defence. Instead of travelling down well-trodden and analyzed paths, Watson concentrates on fresh or little-explored variations of the French, selecting a wealth of ‘dangerous’ options for both White and Black.
Customer Reviews:
A terrific look at less-usual lines.......2007-08-25
John Watson is famous as an excellent writer and book reviewer. This title should further enhance his reputation.
For each of the 14 variations he has chosen, Watson supplies high-level annotated games; summaries of the existing "book" knowledge; and some fresh ideas from his own fertile brain. These aren't necessarily better than the more standard variations, but they appear to be sound, and they are likely to baffle a booked-up opponent.
You can choose lines that are likely to lead to closed positional maneuvering (such as 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Nc6, or 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. exd5 exd5 5. Qf3), or lines that can produce wild attacks and counterattacks (such as 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. e5 c5 5. Qg4). Some chapters examine lines often played by Grandmasters, but still offering creativity and surprise value (such as 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nd2 a6); other chapters cover rarer and stranger stuff (such as 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nd2 h6). In all cases, Watson writes clearly and energetically, and his long-time experience as a leading French Defense authority shines through on every page.
If (like me) you don't want to spend countless hours learning the usual overplayed book lines, this book is a great resource for playing either side of the French Defense.
Useful refreshment of french repertoare.......2007-06-01
Written with his usual good mix of quality and charm, John Watson didn't want his good name tarnished writing his latest book, about his favorite opening. This is the first time he wrote a French book with two perspectives in mind, the black, as well as whites; so the first half of the book is written with innovative ideas for white side, and he didn't shy away to write about variations he found bothersome from the black perspective. He did a fair work in a first half of the book to actually help white stir the game in some unique waters, giving us black French players additional headaches to worry about. To be precise, out of total 320 pages of this book, 143 pages are written for white. Within that there are 6 chapters of novel ideas. Black gets 8 chapters and 177 pages.
Let me mention one chapter for example. Chapter 7 (first chapter for black) is called "Swearing in church" and its full 30 pages are all about variation 1.e4,e6 2.d4,d5 3.Nc3,Nc6. Firstly, he gives us the explanation about the logics of that particular variation in two pages, than he moves to heavily annotated and textually explained typical games for the variation (usually some of them are played by super GM`s), and finally, he has a "Looking a little deeper" sub chapter with theory we are used to in some regular opening books.
So, very nice book. It is aimed at white and black side of French, and I would probably use its theory in peculiar tournament situations when I need a full point and when risk needed outweighs the safety of the French opening proper.
Recommended!

Customer Reviews:
S.W. Games #3.......2007-07-25
I love these books. I have read all my life and reading these are wonderful. I am 68 and enjoying everything I get from Star Wars.
Now this is Pod Racing... Again........2003-07-29
This is a review of Jedi Quest Volume 3 DANGEROUS GAMES. Three Jedi teams are sent to a stone less planet that is ruled totally by 10 people. It is the time of galactic games like earths Olympics except done every 7 years. This planet was chosen for the games due to its high proportions of security personnel as the galaxy has become a more dangerous place recently. The Jedi has sent 3 teams of Jedi with their Padawan's for security. The 3 Padawans are Padawan Ferus (Padawan of Siri Tachi) Tru and Anakin.
Anakin had not seen a Pod Race since Tatooine, but racing action combines with intrigue to equal an enjoyable read.
The Jedi Quest series is primarily for readers aged 9 to 12 , and are the tale adventures of Obi-Wan and his Padawan, the future Darth Vader. I read them for their insights into these key SW characters and the fact that the books are fun. A pleasant surprise has been that these books are also available on Audio Cassette Unabridged. Watson is a good job weaving a story with some action and mystery to hold a readers attention while delving into the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin. Young Jedi Knights is another younger reader series written by Anderson and Moesta as well as the 18 book series called Jedi Apprentice about Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.
The best so far!!.......2002-09-27
Fourteen year old Anakin Skywalker has been a padawan for nearly six years, and in that time he has learned much, despite his lingering difficulties in controlling his anger. He and Obi-Wan are sent with two other Jedi teams, one containing Anakin's rival, on a fairly routine mission, to mediate and oversee the Galaxy Games (The Olympics, Star Wars style). It doesn't take Anakin long however, to discover another event going on, an illegal one. Podracing. To give away more of the plot would be a crime to this wonderful book, but let me just say that this one is most definatelly full of suprises. I read it in a few hours, and hated putting it down even for a minute. I recommend it to any and every Star Wars fan, young or old.
More Continuity.......2002-09-04
This third installment by Jude Watson is one of the stronger offerings in this relatively new series. The author has a formidable task, as the cinema experience of Episode II was the culmination of all of Anakin's actions that these books will cover. This series does seem to have the books follow each other more closely in time than past series. She has the same challenge as the movies, she is telling a story about characters that we already know how many of their lives will evolve and in some cases end.
The Pod Racing sequence in Episode I is easily one of the best sequences that Lucas ever brought to the screen. In, "Dangerous Games", which are like the Olympics on a galaxy level, Pod Racing is back and Anakin is racing once again. The cover art is exactly what it appears to be, Anakin is racing, but he is being chased by the same Pod Racer he built many years ago on Tatooine. The pilot of his old craft is also a surprise, but that is best left for the book.
Anakin is again fighting himself and his emotions that always seem to lead him either away from, or just off the path he is expected to follow and learn from. This time around Anakin is not alone in making errors, and they are not as potentially bad as they have been in the past. If there is one aspect of his personality that continues to develop is his anger. He continues to keep it largely under control, but it is clear that it will eventually break loose.
This book is a good addition to the Star Wars saga.

Customer Reviews:
Ehh..........2006-02-04
I've liked Vaughan's work in the past, especially with the group of teenage superheroes in Runaways, I've always had some fondness for Longshot, and I was hankering for some good old soap operatic X-Men action, and to top it all off, I dig Stuart Immonen's work, so I decided to give this volume a shot, despite not having read any of the rest of his run on this series. At $9.99, how bad could it be?
Well, it's not bad, but that's the problem; that's the best thing I the way that the X-Men (and the reader's) can really say about it. My reaction was very tepid. I liked how the X-Men's expectations (and the reader's) expectations are violated, there's some nice character work (especially on Colossus and Dazzler), and at four issues, it's certainly not "decompressed", but this still didn't click with me like Vaughan's other work has. Maybe that's because he's working with other people's characters here, whereas the Runaways and the casts of Y the Last Man and Ex Machina are his creations, or maybe I'm just sick of the X-Men (not even Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men could hold my attention), but at the end of the day, I can't give it more than 3 stars.
While I think this hits the right beats for an X-Men story, and works for me a lot more than what Mark Millar did with the book at its inception, I'm still not as fond of it as I was Grant Morrison's New X-Men, which is the best thing I've read with the franchise since Claremont's glory days. I'd still say it's worth your $9.99, just don't expect Vaughan's best.
Oh, well... guess the thrill is gone..........2005-11-29
I had been enjoying the "Ultimate X-Men" series pretty well up to this point, but was turned off here by the lackluster plotline and even moreso by the slapdash artwork, which stands in painful contrast to the richly detailed illustration of the earlier volumes. This volume felt a lot like the mass-produced X-books of the late '90s, where there were too many heroes and too many titles, and they all started to melt together into one big kaboom-fest, filled with fetishistically hyper-muscular males and inflatible-doll anorexic female characters. Sadly, the series seems to be taking on that same factory-produced feel, and has lost its freshness and revitalized vigor. Hopefully Marvel can get the book back on track, but I'm not sure I'll still be around to read it when they do. Other, better books clamor for my attention.
So its come to this? A Reality TV show? Oh well, the X-Men still kick @$$.......2005-08-25
Longshot, Mojo and Spiral all enter the Ultimate series in this volume of Ultimate X-Men. The take on Longshot is an interesting twist on his overtly positive, almost child-like, nature in the main-stream Marvel universe- the Ultimate version is a violent human hating bigot; but Mojo and Spiral are utterly dull. Longshot is the unwilling star of a hit reality show (in Genosha) that is owned and operated by an overweight albino (non-mutant, non-alien, base-line human) named Mojo. In Genosha, mutant criminals are sent to Mojo's island where they are hunted down and killed to entertain the masses, but Longshot has outlived all previous contestants and as a result brought the show big ratings. Mojo figures he had best off his fugitive star before the luster fades, and hires a goofy-looking hit-man by the name of Arcade to kill him.
Meanwhile the X-Men are appalled by what they have seen of Genoshan Television, but Professor Xavier refuses to let them become involved in a dangerous situation or spark an international controversy. Some of the X-Men, namely Colossus and newer recruits such as Angel and Dazzler, decide to just go on ahead and do what they feel is right, and soon enough they are in over their heads in Genosha. The other X-Men eventually head to the tiny African island nation to search for their friends, and stumble across Spiral, Longshot's six-armed mutant girlfriend who presents them with a less flattering image of her lover than the team had first assumed.
Pros: The characterization of the X-Men is great, and the focus is finally, after many issues, shifted away from Wolverine, Xavier, Phoenix and Cyclops to the rest of the X-Men. Dazzler and Angel break the mold of typical superhero behaviors (she is a jerk and he is a coward), and Colossus gets a lesson in keeping his emotions in check. The sly battle between Dazzler and Colossus for the attention of Longshot is more than a little amusing, and Nightcrawler's reaction when presented with the possibility that Colossus might have different tastes when it comes to romantic involvement shows that even the oppressed can have prejudices.
Cons: It seems to be that writer Brian K. Vaughan is great at making the main cast more realistic and interesting, but his villains are some of the worst one could imagine. Any appealing qualities the X-Men villains had before he retranslated them into the Ultimate series are time and again stripped away and replaced by dull and mundane bad-guys who would be better served facing off with Steven Seagal (they tend to have no powers and almost phallic obsessions with firearms, and often dress like extras in bad cop movies). Mojo was a lot cooler when he was an insane alien wizard with no spine and a whole dimension of whack-jobs to call down on the X-Men; I mean, seriously, a fat albino? At least give him some mutant power, something formitable, anything. Arcade might have some hope, I guess it's possible for there to be an Ultimate Murder-World, but did we really need just another guy with a big gun? That's the best Vaughan could come up with? A big gun?!? And then there is Spiral: not even a villain. Not even a single moment of thought put into her, so, why even bother wasting a perfectly good character by including her in the story at all?
This story is worth getting for the good stuff involving the X-Men, but anyone expecting a worthwhile battle or villain will be disappointed. And for me, personally, I hate reality TV, but if the people on the shows were killed at the end I might start watching.
Longshot's back!.......2005-08-13
Some people may not like the Ultimate Universe's take on some beloved characters, but for me I was just glad to see Longshot back in comic books. The original series by Ann Nocenti and Arthur Adams are still one of my favorite all-time comic books and having him around (although portrayed much different than the "Earth 616" version of him), is still great.
def. not vaughan's best.......2005-08-03
i keep waiting for vaughan to settle in and pick up the pace on his run of ult. x-men, but he seems content to just coast most of the time, or at the worst, phone it in. this is really a shame b/c his other work is usually consistently worthwhile and he could've done so much great work in the ult universe. this book is completely what you'd expect w/ zero surprises except for a little twist at the end. the story and the characterization are completely forgettable (although longshot's powers are still cool), w/ the main exception of dazzler who is great as a sarcastic wisecracking smart alec. i hate to say it but i'm def. going to skip his next ult x-men arc unless i hear rave reviews.

Book Description
A killer is using labyrinthine storm drains to dispose of his victims, who are found handcuffed and drowned, washed out of the rain-filled drainage lines like garbage. The crimes compel FBI Agent Tess McCallum to crack the case, but they're touching a nerve in Personal Security Consultant Abby Sinclair. She fears it's the same madman who invaded her nightmares once before. As the two women work with each other to solve the case, tensions rise and tempers flare. And as sure as the rain, a new killing season begins.

Deeper Than It Looks.......2006-05-23
Dangerous Games by Michael Prescott takes an interesting premise, a serial killer who kidnaps women and chains them in the vast storm drains that run underneath the City of Los Angeles, refusing to disclose their location unless the City of LA pays multi-million dollar ransoms to an offshore bank account. The kidnappings always occur on a day when rain is expected, making it even more imperative that the ransom be paid quickly, because if it isn't, the waters in the storm drain will rise and the victim will die-- as has happened to the first two victims.
Leaving aside the question of whether or not a city would actually pay up on such a ransom demand (I find it very unlikely.) This is really not so much of a thriller as it is a psychological examination of two women who form an unlikely partnership in investigating the kidnapper. The first is maverick FBI agent, Tess McCallum, who is brought in from the Denver Field Office as a media ploy because of her previous success in solving a major case in LA. The second woman is Abby Sinclair, a maverick sort of private investigator who specializes in putting stalkers behind bars by whatever means necessary- even if it means breaking the law.
Throughout the book, Abby insists to Tess that the two of them are actually the same-- they are both mavericks and they both play outside the rules; but Tess is reluctant to see the resemblance and finds ways to rationalize matters when she plays fast and loose with the rules.
The identity of the kidnapper is not a big secret as Prescott identifies him fairly early in the book as a disgruntled ex LA Police Officer who was sent to prison for stalking one of Abby's clients.
What is interesting about this book is the way Tess refuses to play the bureaucratic games of the FBI, while at the same time espousing her loyalty to the organization and to the law. She disdains Abby's tactics, and considers herself better than Abby because she is, after all, on the side of law and order. The book makes a statement that the higher people go in the bureaucracy of the organization, the more they lose touch with the way things really are out in the streets-- a common lament of front line law enforcement officers everywhere.
However, for those who think that the message of the book is to forget the rules, think again. Prescott at the end makes very clear that when investigators step outside the law, there are ripple effects and repercussions.
Abby and Tess are interesting characters, as is the kidnapper, William Kolb. The remaining characters are pretty one-dimensional-- the AD of the LA FBI Office is the stereotypical character of a stuffed shirt bureaucrat who cares more about image and publicity than anything else. But that's okay, because they are incidental to the main theme of the book, which is an exploration of what happens when people don't play by the rules.
For a book that is, on the surface, a pretty good thriller, the underlying message of the book packs a punch. Tess and Abby make an interesting team. It would be terrific to see them come together again in the future with Tess's newfound insight into her own character.
If this one is considered boring...........2005-12-10
This is the first book by Michael Prescott I have read and if the other reviews are correct and this story is boring, I can't wait to get my hands on his other books. I really enjoyed this book. There was a wonderful blending of mystery, suspense, humor and excitement. It is true that the killer is identified almost immediately, but I didn't feel as though that took anything away from the story. It was actually helpful to know who it was. It allowed the reader to watch how those involved interacted with the very people hunting them down.
Tess McCallum is an FBI agent who is something of a celebrity but who, like most of us, has some skeletons in her closet. Abby Sinclair, a private investigator is a gung-ho go getter with a wicked sense of humor. The killer(s) is(are) someone who could quite possibly live next door to any of us, which makes this story so believeable.
The story comes out of the shute on a dead run and doesn't stop till the finish line. I can't wait to find other books by Prescott, hope they are as good as this one was.
An allright read.......2005-11-26
I've read all of Michael Prescotts books', as well as all the ones he wrote under the name Brian Harper.
I have to say that compared to all his other page turners, this one was bland and lacking.
Still a decent read - but I was definitely expecting more.
Prescott Rules.......2005-04-01
I read this book in only two sittings because I could not put it down. Prescott brings back two of his more interesting characters, Tess McCallum, FBI agent and Abby Sinclair, "The Shadow Hunter." As expected, the two women do not get along very well when hunting down a serial killer but they must learn to work together in accomplishing this feat.
The book had a good combination of action, humor and sadness. The exchanges between Tess McCallum and her boss, "The Nose" are classics. They had me rolling on the floor.
Prescott is slowly becoming one of the my favorite mystery writers.
Entertaining read, as usual.......2005-03-22
I really enjoyed Dangerous Games and as in all of Michael Prescott's novels, he creates characters and events that draw us in and excite us to keep reading! I definatly will!
Book Description
In this book, opening experts John Emms, Chris Ward and Richard Palliser team up to examine one of the most popular and respected openings at all levels of chess: the Nimzo-Indian. However, instead of pursuing the well-trodden paths, they choose an original approach, concentrating on fresh or little-explored variations of the Nimzo, and selecting a wealth of ‘dangerous’ options for both White and Black.

New, Interesting Ideas........2006-12-30
Why I am qualified to review this book: I used to be ranked #25 on the top 100 list for my age. I won third in the N. CA jr. High champs, 3rd at a LA Masters. I have had the honor of working with FM Banawa, from the Philippines, who is now rated 2307 according to January FIDE rating supplement. I have also work with other strong players, with ratings over 2400 USCF.
Now on to the book "Dangerous Weapons: The Nimzo Indian" was mainly written by English IM Richard Palliser, and GM Chris Ward. The Book was pretty good. I believe that the chapter on the Rominishin Gambit (1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. Qc2 d5 5. a3 Bxc3 6. Qxc3 c5!? 7. dxc5 d4) was well worth buying the whole book alone.
There were other great lines that lead to razor sharp play, which many opponents may not know about. If so, you will be expected to win the game, such as the Topalov Gambit, or "Wanting it all" in the Classical (0-0 line), with e4. It also showed a lot of Ne4!? lines in the Nimzo Indian, such as against e3 Ne4!? I tried them in chess, with ok results, but far from impressive.
The problems with this book lies in one thing. Some of their ideas are just plain bad. Thankfully, they clearly state in the beginning that some of the ideas that they give are refuted, or are just plain anti-positional and bad. For an advanced player, this is not a problem, because (s)he can carefully look through the annalists, and find the refuted or bad ones, and just simply ignore them.
It is a very interesting opening book, compiled into 300 pages. Personally, I really thought it was good, though it did have some weak points. I recommend this book to any advanced Nimzo-Indian player, who is good at attacking chess, and wants to go looking for complex, sharp play. For beginners, this is not a bad book, but it would help if you had someone, who is a bit stronger then you look over your openings that you select. This book offers a broad selection of ineteresting openings to choose from, so that is why I really liked it. Great effort from GM Ward, IM Palliser, and the edditor, GM Emms!

Book Description
The Most Dangerous Game is the popular short story originally published in 1924 which was written by Richard Connell. This is the story of a big game hunter who is trapped on an island with a fellow hunter, who is uninterested in hunting stereotypical prey, and instead decides that the only prey worthy of his skills is other humans. This title is often required reading in middle schools, and has been since adapted into movies and extended versions. This title is the original version by the author, and is considered one of the greatest short stories ever written.

Terrible Print!.......2007-03-26
Great book - terrible edition. I have never seen so many typos in a book before. DO NOT BUY THIS EDITION.
Way Overpriced!.......2007-02-06
Decent short story, but the shoddy production value of the book is more like a pamphlet than an actual
book; not-to-mention, the brevity of the story itself leads one to read this crappy re-print more like cliff
notes bound by generic cover art than part of an anthology worthy of it's exorbitant price.
