Finally, the Lunars seem to have remembered which gameworld they're in........2007-09-17
I can't really speak to the mechanical improvements, since I have yet to play a lunar character in a game, but the backstory alone is an enormous improvement over 1st ed. Back then, Lunars were like a bunch of old World o' Darkness were____s that had wandered into the wrong gameworld--they hated civilization, preferring the 'purity' of the 'barbarians.' Conan plus anarcho-primitivism, how appealing. That, and the old rules made Lunars probably the least popular Exalt type book in the old edition.
Now, however, the Lunar backstory and culture are free of fantasy cliches (ie 'Barbarians') and sure to provide great kernels for character creation. The basic concept that the lunars are 'stewards' as opposed to the Solar 'lawgivers' is well developed into an exalt ethos that puts emphasis on mortal self-determination and self-reliance, a really interesting contrast to the Solar and Terrestrial desire to set themselves up as God-Kings. The factions of the lunars are fleshed out nicely--The Winding Path are dedicated to helping as many different societies as possible evolve among mortals. The Sun King Seneschals once merely hated the Terrestrials but now that the Solars are back may want to be the power behind the throne. The Crossroads Society are the sorcerers who trade lore and take a leading role in protecting the Lunars from the Wyld. Finally the Swords of Luna fight the fair folk (that's it) and the Wardens of Gaia are either civilization-loathing primitivists or simply greens who would like to see mortals live in harmony with nature.
In short, while the old lunars book did little more than provide crazed, not particularly fleshed-out antagonists, the new lunars book paints a picture of exalts at least as interesting as the solars who can either have wonderful adventures on their own or add a new angle to a game with Solars.
Excellent Lunar come back.......2007-07-24
Well I must first say that english is not my native language so please forgive me if I make mistakes. Thanks.
Now as for the Lunar Exalted Book. WOAW. Simple.
They completely erradicated all the mistakes of the Lunars First Edition.
Now Lunars are complete characters full of options and with a nice setting, nice background, history, great Knacks, Charms, Gifts and Fury stuff. Excellent new backgrounds, details on what they been doing this last centuries. A good reasoning of the Wyld core in all Lunar Essences. A great explanation of why they need the moonsilver ink tattoos and their restrictions. Also the Thousand Rivers proyect and their involvement in human populations like Halta, Chiaroscuro, Diamond, etc..
IF I have some disagreements with the book would be that some Charms (7) dont work well. Certain lack of Wyld Mutations to develop the Combat Form of the Lunar (cause they are spread between the Main Corebook, the Compass of Celestial Directions The Wyld and in this Book) I feel like they should have reprinted a complete list of possible Wyld Mutations and rules in this Corebook. Personally I feel that maybe they should have given a little more importance to Artifacts made of Moonsilver and maybe special Celestial Sorcery Spells unique to Lunars. But this is just an opinion.
So far an excellent book. Full of great things.
I hunger to play a full-fledged Shapeshifter that can edure anything and slay Creation's enemies while saving humankind from threats of the Wyld!
Yup it's fixed.......2007-06-13
A big improvement from the 1E version of the same. The Lunars are now not only powerful but have intersting charms and trees that will not make character design a headache. This is with out a doubt the most important update of the 2nd Ed of the Exalted game
Extrordinary improvement over 1st Ed.......2007-05-11
The second edition of Lunars presents a much more cohesive and believable let of heros than its predecessor. The social groupings are much more fleshed out and thought through, and alone are almost worth the cost of the book. These characters are presented as Heroic, though flawed persons, contrary to the nearly mindless savage Wyld cult leaders they are in 1st Ed. Thankfully, the Charm trees appear to have been cleaned up as well, at least upon first impression.
Overall, this expansion is much more in line with the overall feel of the Exalted series, giving the Lunars a much more believable and glorious moment in the spotlight.

Book Description
Strike Down Evil with the Sword of Enlightenment
“Only those who are pure in word, thought, and deed may look upon the knowledge gathered within this blessed tome. For the blinding truths inscribed within offer nothing but redemption or destruction for the wicked. May these consecrated pages forever illuminate the paths of the righteous.”
-- Raziel the Crusader, ruler of the Platinum Heaven
As the Book of Vile Darkness was a resource book on the most evil elements of campaign play, the Book of Exalted Deeds focuses instead on the availability of good resources and features in the
D&D spectrum.
Included are new exalted feats, prestige classes, races, spells, magic items, and descriptions and statistics for a host of creatures and celestial paragons to ally with virtuous characters. The Book of Exalted Deeds also provides descriptions and statistics for a host of creatures and celestial paragons to ally with virtuous characters.
Book of Exalted Deeds is the second title in the line of
Dungeons & Dragons products specifically aimed at a mature audience.
To use this supplement, a
Dungeon Master also needs the Player’s Handbook,
Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual. A player needs only the Player’s Handbook.

The White that comes to Save the day.......2007-08-07
I bought the Evil book first and unfortunately, this book is not as wickely clever as that one. But it needs to be written, becuase this is the dawn to evil's night, both sides must be equal. It is a great supplement for an Evil campaign, which I ran for over a year. The "bad guys" were all the paladins and high Preists of good. But once we went back to the usual type of good/neutral campaign, this book came back out and some pc's willingly wanted to become exhalted. It is well worth your money. Great prestige classes and feats are included in this.
Grab your Holy Avenger and roll initiative!.......2006-08-14
This book is an extremely in depth look at how to play good characters. The maturity warning is unwarrented, I believe, because the only thing it does that is mature is cover topics such as good vs evil and how to be a good PC. The content is not innapropriate mature, more like difficult to understand mature. It is the excellent guideline for being a goodguy, and I would almost require it as a rulebook for anyone who treads the Lawful Good path.
Sad.......2005-10-23
I found this book to be more or less devoid of useful or interesting material, with two exceptions. I liked some of the feats presented in the book and I liked the section on creating immortals. The rest of the book was fluff, useless, a waste of space. The book tries to explain goodness to players, all of which know what it means to be good anyway. It presents a whole mess of groupings of deities which anyone could make up on their own, which is basically the way Wizards of the coast present everything divine. Instead of giving 7000 examples of divine beings, why not give us a book about how to build them, details of how divine beings interact, create, and how they fit into the cosmos? Anyone DM truly worth his salt makes all his own stuff up anyway rather than using the junk in books like this and the Manual of the Planes. Spend money on something else like Heroes of Battle, a much better book and more useable.
Awesome book.......2005-08-12
Has good, balanced classes and pretige classes to add to the library of DnD. New items are useful and goes into plenty of detail about using an Exalted character. Excellent addition to any collection of DnD books.
I'm Not a Hater.......2005-04-24
But this book is lame. Especially compared to its companion piece, the Book of Vile Deeds. Vile Deeds was cool--it had crazy pictures, an interesting musing on the nature of good and evil [before whole heartedly abandoning that line of reasoning and presenting such morally ambiguous figures as the "Cancer Mage"], and some really evil stuff to throw at your PCs.
This book... well... it has a great cover. No seriously, it's really neet to look at.
The inside art isn't very attractive. Most of the add-ons are like "if your characters become extra special good, they are just so swell! Let's make everything holy or something like that!" The prestige classes aren't very inspiring either. And it's not really clear [although Vile Deeds wasn't either] about how a non-god figure is more powerful and important than a god figure? I guess it's one of those DnD continuity issues that you just have to grin and bear... or create your own setting!
overall, not really worth your time.

Customer Reviews:
Could have been perfect.......2007-07-24
Normally I like all stuff from White Wolf, really.
Yet this guys somehow dont really know what HAS to go in a Storytellers Screen and what is USELESS to have there. As with ALL storyteller screens so far that I have from White Wolf this is the SAME = USELESS.
Ok. Art is so cool and the idea to put the Map of Creation is cool, really. Also it is thicker and resistant to all hazards. Thats why I give this product a 3.
YET... I am a designer and I feel that many tables should be taken away and more important info should be added instead. Like Healing Tables, Diseases, Poisons, Essence recovery reference page, short combat rules, less extended weapon and armor stats, experience reference page, actions and DVs, dont know would make it easier and somehow indispensable. So many space and wasted with things that one really never uses or needs. :(
Exalted a different type of RPG.......2007-05-12
I haven't personally played too many White Wolf games but I have played 3rd Edition D&D a lot so I liked the fact in this game that I started out beefy instead of a character who could easily be killed off. I think the style is also very different from D&D in that its pulling more from Eastern style medieval period instead of the European one typical in D&D. Most impressive to me was how they did mass combat rules an item that doesn't typically occur much in other RPGs. My issues with this book is that it can be hard to find particular rules at times and some rules aren't entirely fleshed out enough that we've spent about 30 minutes debating on how a rule should work. The other issue is that this book gives you the entire background to the world which players themselves shouldn't always have because this book tries to be a combination of a GM and Players handbook. Overall, its has been a very enjoyable game to me and I would recommend any D&D player give it a chance.
A must-have if you're in an Exalted campaign, but . . ........2007-03-10
I have to say, I really don't like the way White Wolf structures their content. I would prefer to have more sidebars, tables and the like, as a lot of often-referenced rules and such are buried in the text, and the index is less than helpful. Also, the way they word a lot of the rules is somewhat imprecise, and leaves things open to interpretation. They need a good content editor and someone to make the material more accessible to first-time White Wolf gamers. All in all, it's a solid product, the illustrations are nice and the layout looks very professional. Handle with care though, the binding doesn't seem to be all that strong.
Solid and serviceable.......2007-01-17
This GM screen is you typical one, with handy reference charts for the GM, but no real information on the player's side. A few charts I would have liked to see on here were omitted. But it is the most solidly-constructed GM screen I have ever seen, made of the same material as the hard-covers on the main books themselves.
Nice Update to Exalted.......2007-01-12
Better than the first edition. Great for a new Exalted player. Worth getting if you have first edition.

Now THIS is Supernatural Stuff.......2007-07-24
Will make this short. Excellent book. A must have.
Now the long explanation.
Cool moves, different martial arts, the three level of power can be felt.
Even though I dislike the idea that Siderials have SUCH power in their hands and dont teach em it is a great idea. Really. Something that Solars have to ask to be taught.
Powerlevel is cool, moves sound fantastic, setting for the Martial Arts World or Society and the uses of it, how mortals can learn em, how Dragon Blooded can touch Celestial level and how Siderials rule the maximum apex of the Lotus of Perfection. Sublime!
Now this in comparison to Sorcery is way extremely powerful.
That is kinda my complaint in here. Sorcery is supposed to be the most terrific and overwhelming power to have. But the Siderial Martial Arts can undo spells and even reverse em. And many moves seem even more useful than taking actions to cast a spell and spending huge amounts of essence to achive small effects.
Martial Arts is an important part of the setting and this book raises the word when you say POWER! A must have!
White Wolf has set the bar for Scrolls of Esoteric Wisdom.......2007-01-26
The Scrolls of Esoteric Wisdom Volume I: Scroll of the Monk (Note: the cover does not mention the Esoteric Wisdom part, but the ad for the Scroll of Lesser Races [sidebar, p.2] mentions that it is the Esoteric Wisdom series) has set the bar for quality of this series within White Wolf's Exalted Second Edition line. Not only does it elaborate on the Martial Arts world within Creation (Fight clubs?) and add several pages of long-awaited weapons (I've been hearing cries for garrotes, kamas, nunchaku, and tonfas ever since I started playing Exalted two years ago), the bulk of the book contains enough supernatural Martial Arts to quench any asiophile's thirst.
The chapter on Terrestrial Martial Arts alone would have been worth the money I spent on this book. The diversity introduced, adding to the flexibility of Martial Arts (and proving that nearly anything can be a *martial* art) has caused nearly every player in a Dragon-Blooded story I'm working on create a martial artist. Yet no two characters are the same. One character was birthed in a brothel, and knows Orgiastic Fugitive Style (the learning of which requires "meditative sex"). Another is an informant for the All-Seeing Eye, and infiltrated the Fivefold Shadow-Hand Association, and learned their ninjutsu-style martial arts. A third prophesied the disappearance of the Scarlet Empress, and has learned the social kung-fu of the White Veil Society ("There is no White Veil Society. It is not cunningly concealed among the... Dragon-Blooded socialites of the Realm... No one would suggest that its members have a political agenda..."). And another is a street rat from Nexus, who learned the rough-and-rumble First Pulse Style while fighting for his life.
The Celestial Martial Arts chapter is a notch less interesting, with most styles reprinted (though updated!) from First Edition. This time around, however, they use the updated battle system, and are all in one place (as opposed to ten different book in the previous version of the game).
Sidereal Martial Arts, finally, is the first time I've seen canon Charms listed with Essence or Ability requirements above six. For example, "Meditative Battlefield Escalation" (p.118), with requirements of Martial Arts 8, Essence 8. Considering that all characters max out at Essence 10, it is apparent that the strength of these martial artists is great (Such as a lesser Charm than the above, which essentially turns the player into the Storyteller for one scene), and though it would take a long and/or high-powered game to bring such powers out, they are entertaining to read ("What if my character could do THAT! Wow...") and possibly just as much to use.
Definitely a good buy. Worth every cent I spent.
Quick Rundown.......2007-01-20
This book, although not having much in the way of explaination as to what it was, is action packed with Martial Art Charms and various information for those of us who just love the idea of powerful Martial Artists.
At first I was skeptical due to no information concerning what this book contained, but I decided to get it anyway. I am glad I did. This book details various Terrestrial, Celestrial, and Siderial Forms. It will help fill out your Martial Artist. It also goes into how to be initiated into the ranks of each Tier.
This book is a MUST have for any exalted game.

Excellent Dragon Blooded Rule.......2007-07-24
Ok somehow the guys and girls at white wolf already know how to do excellent books and superb things. This is a great book. The first edition also was excellent but this second edition rulebook is AWESOME.
Full of great charms, rules, animas even better, more things to do and have.
The story is full of possibilties, every House is great and all trademark characters have been redefined. WOAW.
A must have. Trust me.
Worth every cent! [or pesos]
A great book.......2007-01-17
All in all, I'm enjoying the 'recasting' of Exalted, and this book is no exception. This book greatly expands on the first edition book, and with the Realm setting shunted off into a companion volume (Compass of Celestial Directions 1: the Blessed Isle), the extra room is well-used in presenting Dragon-Blooded society, along with great ideas on how to run a DB-based campaign, as well as how to leverage DB's in a Solar-based campaign.

Standing ovation.......2007-07-24
Ok the idea to divide the book in 5 aspects that are the Maidens purviews was an excellent move. The one that came with that idea is a genius, really. I thought something like that and when I saw it done, it was WOOOOOAW.
The idea to have technomagic is great. Final Fantasy inspired no doubt.
Creating some sorcerous craft as to be able to manufacture scientific advanced gadgets also a clean move. That they can be repaired and maintained and have high-level power in exchange of certain rituals, oils, reargents and periodic tune ups is great idea. The warstriders rule.
The idea of been able to have Genetics and mutate life is also a nice idea, yet it lacks many more examples, many more rules and somehow needs more clarification cause somehow I felt it small in comparison to all the combat-related artifacts.
The book has over 100 examples ready to use and also ready to tamper with and even enahcing and mixing em.
A must have in the Exalted collection.
Worth every cent! [or peso]
L3wT!.......2006-06-19
Ah, magical artifacts...and when they're technomagical artifacts, all the better. This is a very imaginative collection of items--combat and noncombat--for Exalted Storytellers to tempt their players with, or to equip opponents with. Vehicles (for getting around the enormous distances of Creation), armor and weapons, battlefield equipment, and a great many things to make life easier (or in some cases, much harder). The section on warstriders is particularly tasty.
This book also expands the Exalted backstory, letting us know how magical-technology developed and was used in the goldan age of the Solar Deliberative, and how it has fallen to its current state.
There are only two things keeping this from getting five stars: First, I was hoping for more detailed rules on artifact construction, to help me figure out exactly how many background points an item is worth. Second, I was *really* hoping for a lot more Sorcery spells! As in the 1st edition, the 2nd Edition core rules have only a few spells, and you would think the first Book of Sorcery would rectify that. Nope: this volume has only artifacts.
For what it is, it's great. We'll just have to wait for a later volume to get those spells.
Amazing book...........2006-05-29
This book is packed full of incredible devices for any one who enjoys Exalted. The book has a wealth of knolage from the first age as well as the age of sorrows.
The book has a few sections in it that divide the items by uses, that is the only way i can discribe it. There is a giant amount of artifacts that have nothing to do with combat, and then others that are. There is a section on warstriders, basicly single man "death machines" that basicly look like Large Metal Robots.
Most of the items in this volume are very well detailed and all have pictures that show you what they would more that likely look like. I don't like saying that IS what they look like because, well, this is RPing people, things change by a player/GM's perception.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, This book rocks and has items that range from pens to armor to boots to Royal Class Warstriders. This book is about gear in the world of Exalted.
P.S. It looks like there is going to be about 4 more of these books. My best guess is that one will be for Sorcery, but that is just one book. If you think of anything else, post it here to give me some ideas on the other ones.

A fleshing out, rather than something new.......2007-09-17
If you don't have the old Scavenger Sons, then you should definately buy this book if you are at all likely to find yourself in the Scavenger lands.
If you do have Scavenger Sons, ask yourself a question--how much more info do you need on Nexus, Lookshy and Great Forks? What about Chaya, the Marukan Alliance and Sijann? If you want a pretty detailed guide to these places, then Scavenger Lands is indeed an improvement on Scavenger Sons, but if you were more or less okay with the old book, then you should bear in mind that the new simply fleshed out already printed material. And that's the problem--there are no really new locations fleshed out, nor anything fundamentally changed in the existing locations descriptions. It would have been nice if the first Terrestrial Directions book had covered new ground--The South, for instance, or the farther East other than Halta, but oh well.
More detailed than Scavenger Sons and with better system support, but overall covering less material........2006-09-14
Scavenger Lands provides a fascinating overview of one of the most turbulent and interesting areas in Creation. A variety of interesting cities are detailed in this product, along with complete support for The Mandate of Heaven rules found in the Exalted Storyteller's Companion. Additionally, the large tactical units of the various city states are presented for the purpose of mass combat. Finally, the various gods and ancient beings that reside in the Scavenger Lands are stated. By and large, however, this is a large setting product.
The largest downside to this product is that it is mostly setting information, and that setting information has been presented in an earlier 1st edition product. Some of the writing is at times boring, focusing on minor NPCs instead of the state (I'm using state to mean geopolitical entity, often city-states in this product) they live in. Finally, this product is much more narrowly focused than the earlier Scavenger Sons. It discusses the Scavenger Lands but does not move outside them. I consider that to be a strength, as later supplements are planned to explore the cardinal directions, but the product is not as broadly useful as the earlier Scavenger Sons.
The most interesting part of Creation.......2006-07-24
The is the first of five setting books that look closely at Creation, the world of Exalted. I was glad to see White Wolf made the choice to tackle the East, a.k.a. the Scavenger Lands, first, as that is the best place for setting adventures, IMHO. It has the greatest variety of cultures, the best places for a Solar Exalted to hide, the most ruins, and it has Nexus, Great Forks, and Lookshy, the three most interesting cities. The Exalted campaign I played in recently was set primarily in the East, and when I run a campaign, it will be set there as well.
The book expands on the brief descriptions of the East from the main rulebook, and focuses on those three aforementioned cities, along with others such as Thorns and Greyfalls. It brings together information that appeared in other first-edition books, while adding some new info, but sadly leaving out some details due to space considerations. Newcomers to the game won't notice that last, however, and won't miss it--there is plenty here. It also includes some creatures and artifacts, and NPCs, Mass Combat, and Mandate of Heaven rules for all the societies described.

Book Description
This unique meditation on the names of Jesus and their transforming power leads readers to experience His presence in their lives and renew their devotion to Him. Rather than a how-to book, At the Name of Jesus focuses on the awesome reality of who Christ is: Lion of Judah, Redeemer, Immanuel, Deliverer, Lord of Glory. Customer Reviews:
Experience a spiritual revival!.......2003-08-27
When I picked up this devotional, I thought this would be a five-minute pick-me-up. It wasn't. This isn't set up for five minutes. This book requires a quiet spirit, and time to sit back and absorb everything. It is divided up into five sections: Reflection, Reading scripture, Meditation., Response and Prayer. Each time I read one of these devotions, I came away awed by different aspects of Christ. This book made me want to just bow down and praise Jesus for all that He is. The book went a lot deeper than I ever imagined. It will cause one to experience a spiritual revival. I highly recommend this book.

A Deeper Look.......2003-07-25
I have enjoyed all of Tricia Rhodes books, but this one was especcially unique. Tricia's passion and love for Christ were contagious, filling me with a desire to go to a deeper level in my relationship with Jesus, and to exhault Him as He deserves. The chapters require time, for scripture reading, journaling, and prayer, but it is well spent to say the least. I have recommended this book to my pastors and several friends.
