4 out of 5 stars Daily Inspiration.......2007-09-12

I bought this book along with another of Melody's. I think she is a very caring and understanding person and this book gives me daily readings to keep up my spirits and know that I am not alone and I can fix my own problems. I wasn't expecting a daily devotional type of book, but I am so glad now that I have it. They say one day at a time.. and right now that's what I'm giving.

Book Description

Sex is at the core of our identities. And when it becomes a compulsion, it can unravel our lives.. "Out of the Shadows" is the premier work on this disorder, written by a pioneer in its treatment. Revised and updated to include the latest research--and to address the exploding phenomenon of cybersex addiction--this third edition identifies the danger signs, explains the dynamics, and describes the consequences of sexual addiction and dependency. With practical wisdom and spiritual clarity, it points the way out of the shadows of sexual compulsion and back into the light and fullness of life.

5 out of 5 stars Everything you need to know - for starters.......2007-09-22

I purchased this book for my husband shortly after discovering his sexual addiction. He found it spoke to him so profoundly that he insisted I read it as well. It has a lot of information on a difficult topic presented in a way that just makes sense. By the end of the book, I felt real hope for his recovery. We have since purchased numerous other books by this same author.

5 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book for Recovery.......2007-08-17

I've been in and out of therapy for nearly ten years trying to figure out what exactly was going on with me, but I realize now my problem was I was trying to treat my symptoms, like anxiety and depression, instead of the real problem. I read "Out of the Shadows" and was shocked at how accurately it described me and my life, and I realized my addiction has been destroying relationships with people I love and controlling my life for over half of my life. I'm a bit apprehensive about 12-step programs, but I'm fortunate to have a father who has completed the program and believes in it, so I've signed up today and will give it a try. From the book, the strangest thing about recovery is this paradox: you have to admit that you are powerless over your addiction in order to begin separating yourself from it. I had always thought I had to just ignore cravings like I did to quit smoking, or fight tooth-and-nail with willpower. But you have to seek help outside yourself to really get better. It's going to hurt, but not as bad as the fact I've lost forever some relationships I wish I could have back. I won't do that again.

5 out of 5 stars Help put words to the turmoil you go through.......2007-07-16

Reading this book has helped me find the path towards the journey to finding the right words to describe what I was going through. As a codependent, you feel isolated, this book will make you feel like you are not going crazy and you are not alone! If you have a partner struggling and in denial, buy two of them and read the book together. Realization is part of the keys towards recovery.

5 out of 5 stars Begin To Understand.......2007-07-13

This book is essential for anyone who is struggling with sex addiction. It provides insight and wisdom that helps to unravel the mystery and reduce the shame around compulsive sexual behavior.

This book is sometimes criticized for suggesting that 12-step programs should be a regular part of the addict's recovery. While this may be an issue for some people, I strongly suggest that you not let it deter you from buying the book. The suggestions are merely suggestions, and shouldn't be interpreted as being absolutely essential for one's recovery.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with everything that is suggested, this book will still teach you a great deal about the nature of sexual addiction, and open the door for you to make the changes necessary to rid yourself of this toxic, compulsive behavior and improve your relationships with friends, family, and yourself.

3 out of 5 stars 12 Step as a treatment?.......2007-06-04

In reading Out of the Shadows Dr.Carnes is very much in favor of a 12 Step program to treat sex and love addiction. In my opinion, this is a disservice to people afflicted with this behavioral problem; I'm one of them. I've been to many SLAA meetings, and know that sitting in a room and listening to other dysfunctional people recite stories is not therapeutic. No feedback from experts is provided, in fact no feedback at all is provided. It's empty words falling on empty ears. Additionally, many of the attendees are addicted to 12-Step programs and go to a different on several times per week. Many attendees have deeper psychological problems than sex addiction and need help that a 12 Step program couldn't possibly provide.

There is no evidence that 12-Step programs work any better than any other type of behavioral intervention. As Dr.Carnes must know, there is much evidence that they don't work at all and that there is an extremely high failure rate for all 12-Step programs. The concept that God will fix it, that you are powerless, that by turning it over to the ever-popular "higher power" will make everything better...I can't believe that a man of Dr.Carnes' education would suggest that ANY behavior or addiction treatment could benefit from such nonsensical concepts. Additionally, calling sex and love addition a disease is inappropriate and untrue. Cancer is a disease. Alcoholism is a disease. Sex and love addiction is a learned, acquired and adopted habit/behavior. While I believe the book offers very real life examples of the damage this behavior can do, it gives false hope to people by suggesting that by starting a 12-Step program, a program with such a long history of lies, deceit and failure, they can change their behavior and their lives.

I realize all meetings aren't the same, but the 12-Steps they're based on are, and there is much evidence to suggest that this method of recovery is, at best, flawed.

5 out of 5 stars Alcohol killing you? There is life in this book ; ).......2007-04-26

"Before taking a night-club DJ's job in the 80's writer did not drink; 9 years later on especially grim days my consumption approached a gallon of cheap vodka a day and I could not function. Over the last dozen years of clean & sober living, the "grace" of Almighty God led me to AA, AA's "grace" led me to many new places including this treasured little book (head & shoulders above anything else in its field). "24 Hours a Day" is composed of a short, meditational trilogy for each day of the year, sourced from Hazelden (the world's largest addiction recovery program) and another blessed little book (buy it also from Amazon) titled "God Calling". Concluding, am surprised by the book's "only four star" rating; for me there are not enough stars in the universe to pay it, Hazelden and "AA" sufficient tribute. Succinctly put, if you have a substance abuse problem of any genre "24 Hours" WILL help you beyond words. But if you are like the chap whose impoverished review spoke of "Repetitive magical drivel for people who want to stick in a rut.", likely it WON'T help. You'll need a book on "ATTITUDE" for that. Or put another way, "Sir - did you forget to say no to drugs today?" ; )

3 out of 5 stars good sobriety but heavy for the mornings.......2003-02-24

i picked up this book a little bit ago when my sober living home was using it to run its morning meditation group. i am not a morning person and because of this i found it was hard to wrap my mind around what was written. there are alot of good thoughts for the day but i prefer something a little bit lighter to start my day off with.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This Book Explained SO MUCH about abusive relationships.......2007-10-05

There were two messages that impacted me the most. First, that many things abusive men do to their partners are practically invisible due to the pervasive chauvinism and misogyny that is considered acceptable in our society. Second, the abusive and controling male needs to present himself as a puzzle that needs to be solved: it's a trick that keeps their partner occupied with guessing about what he'll do next instead of just leaving.

It was the hiding of their true agenda that kept me in a relationship with a couple of abusive males much longer than I should have stayed. I thought I could uncover what "really made them tick" by sticking it out with them. Then I figured that once I resolved the mystery of his disturbing, hostile and angry behavior we could live happily ever after.

This is the first book that helped me through my fantasy of believing I could "rescue" this kind of person from himself. I'd give it the highest rating for that alone. But there is so much more helpful information here that confirmed what I'd feared about them that I'd say this is a must-read for any woman confused about why she's not happy with her partner but feeling it's all her fault. Great as a gift!

4 out of 5 stars I don't understand why he treats me this way. He say he loves me........2007-09-23

If you've ever asked that question, then this is a book for you. It is very comprehensive in covering the multitude of reasons and justifications employed by abusive, controlling men. These types of relationships are killers, and getting help is critical to your well being.

Emotional and verbal abuse were areas of great interest to me and includes degradation, humiliation, keeping in control in all situations, withholding information to maintain control, deliberately doing something to make the victim feel diminished or embarrassed, isolating the victim from friends and family, and employing great guilt to paralyze and immobilize the victim from acting in a healthy way.

The confusing and detrimental thing in my life was that the abuser worked in a capacity which protected the rights of victims. The hypocrisy of it had me in denial for sometime. Ultimately it took others to tell me I was living in a hell created by an animal who said he loved me several times everyday.

This book was a Godsend to me. If you even think you are in one of these relationships, read this book.

5 out of 5 stars important information for victims and advocates.......2007-09-10

I work for a domestic violence provention and service program. I have given out hundreds of copies of this book. I refer to it often. One of the best books on the "why" that has been written

5 out of 5 stars Best book on abusers - EVER!.......2007-09-05

I have recommended this book to countless people and time and again, they are amazed at what they read. It validates the crazy experiences they have endured with partners or ex-partners and helps them understand that they are not the crazy one in the relationship. They are being systematically manipulated and beaten down, emotionally, mentally and perhaps physically, and their power is slowly being taken away from them.

Lundy succintly explains how abusers operate to gain power over their partners, using a range of crazy making words and behaviors. This book changed the way I look at and relate to abusive individuals and helped me have less compassion for them - which is/was a healthy thing.

The only problem I have with the book is that it focuses mainly on men as abusers b/c there tend to be more men who are abusers. In my experience women can also be mentally and psychologically abusive to their male partners (and others) although they are less likely to become killers of their partners- as too often male abusers can. Women are quite capable of becoming entitled, demeaning and threatening toward others when they don't get what they want.

Still, overall, this is THE finest book on abuse/abusers I have read and I have read a lot of them.

5 out of 5 stars Every Woman needs to Read This Book!.......2007-09-01

This is the BEST book yet on the subject of abusive men. The author knows and teaches about the BS abusers use to manipulate those around them and goes into depth (but not too deep) about their reasoning for such BS and helps the woman understand that she isn't imagining, making things up or whatever reason is given by an abuser to continue his nonsense. I'm buying many copies as presents for people I care about. The book worth every penny! Don't hesitate to purchase!!! My most heart felt gratitude to Mr. Bancroft for taking the time to write this important work.

Whether in an abusive relationship or not, EVERY woman needs to read this book if not for her own relationship, then to help a woman she probably knows who is in one or to avoid future abusive relationships. There should be a course in high school to teach students about this sort of thing and this should be the text book. I saw abuse already happening to young girls when I worked in our local school. It's time we got serious about stopping it instead of looking away. This book would go a long way to accomplishing that.

5 out of 5 stars One page per day.......2007-08-07

That's all you need to help stay focused on recovery. This is a pocket sized paperback. Therefore it is convenient to keep handy. Some good places for this book are the glove box of the car, night stand, purse, kitchen table, the bathroom, or wherever it helps you to remember to read this everyday.

Each page is labeled by date and contains: A.A. thought for the day(which contains a question as well), meditation for the day, and prayer for the day.

This is a good book for all people to stay balanced and focused on the spiritual side of life. You do not need to be in A.A. for it to be helpful.

5 out of 5 stars twenty-four hours a day excellent.......2007-06-11

AN EXCELLENT WAY TO START YOUR DAY. IT STARTS THE DAY RIGHT AND IF YOUR DAY IS HECTIC THINK BACK UPON THE READING. DON'T FORGET TO BREATH DEEP AND REALIZE WHATEVER THE PROBLEM IS YOU ONLY HAVE TO HANDLE IT FOR 24 HOURS A DAY.

5 out of 5 stars sober23and counting.......2007-05-21

The last writer is on a Jesus soap box. This book and AA meetings have made a better person, a more loving person and a better Christen out of me. All recovery depends on a decision to trust God, make amends for past sins, and live a clean and sober life. Most people may want to stop abusing but cannot or will not change the way they think and live. I believe Jesus delivered me but someone else may think Buddha helped them. I tried the way of religion and the way of no religion and still was miserable. This book guided me to a new spiritual life that no church or religion could do.

1 out of 5 stars AA Success.......2007-02-21

1. The Twelve Steps do not work as a program of recovery from drug or alcohol problems.
o The A.A. failure rate ranges from 95% to 100%. Sometimes, the A.A. success rate is actually less than zero, which means that A.A. indoctrination is positively harmful to people, and prevents recovery. Some tests have shown that even receiving no treatment at all for alcoholism is much better than receiving A.A. treatment:
o One of the most enthusiastic boosters of Alcoholics Anonymous, Professor George Vaillant of Harvard University, who is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. (AAWS), showed by his own 8 years of testing of A.A. that A.A. was worse than useless -- that it didn't help the alcoholics any more than no treatment at all, and it had the highest death rate of any treatment program tested -- a death rate that Professor Vaillant himself described as "appalling". While trying to prove that A.A. treatment works, Professor Vaillant actually proved that A.A. kills. After 8 years of A.A. treatment, the score with Dr. Vaillant's first 100 alcoholic patients was: 5 sober, 29 dead, and 66 still drinking.
(Nevertheless, Vaillant is still a Trustee of Alcoholics Anonymous, and he still wants to send all alcoholics to A.A. anyway, to "get an attitude change by confessing their sins to a high-status healer." That is cult religion, not a treatment program for alcoholism.)
o The A.A. dropout rate is terrible. Most people who come to A.A. looking for help in quitting drinking are appalled by the narrow-minded atmosphere of fundamentalist religion and faith-healing. The A.A. meeting room has a revolving door. The therapists, judges, and parole officers (many of whom are themselves hidden members of A.A. or N.A.) continually send new people to A.A., but those newcomers vote with their feet once they see what A.A. really is. Even A.A.'s own triennial surveys, conducted by the A.A. headquarters (the GSO), say that:
81% of the newcomers are gone within 30 days,
90% are gone in 3 months, and
95% are gone at the end of a year.
That automatically gives A.A. a failure rate of at least 95%. But the GSO does not count all of those people who only attend a few meetings before quitting -- they don't qualify as "members". (That amounts to "cherry-picking".) If we included them, then the numbers would be much worse.

First there is the propaganda technique of "everybody's doing it": "AA or a similar Twelve-Step program is an integral part of almost all successful recoveries".
That is a complete falsehood. The vast majority of the successful people recover without A.A. or any "support group". It's what "everybody" is doing.
Then they use the propaganda techniques of use of the passive voice and vague suggestions: "It is widely believed that not including a Twelve-Step program in a treatment plan can put a recovering addict on the road to relapse."
It is widely believed by whom? And what do those unnamed people know? What are their qualifications? Are they doctors? Medical school professors? Or salesmen for a 12-Step treatment center? Why should we care what some unnamed invisible fools allegedly believe, anyway?
The authors also use the propaganda technique of fear-mongering: you will be "on the road to relapse" -- you will probably die -- unless you practice Bill Wilson's Twelve Step cult religion.
And then the fluff-headed Pollyanna attitude is outrageous: Just going to the wonderful A.A. meetings is supposedly all that is needed to fix some alcoholics.
But since A.A. has a zero-percent success rate above and beyond the normal rate of spontaneous remission, that cannot possibly be true.

5 out of 5 stars Daily Reading and Daily Living is the Key to Sobriety........2006-07-20

I kept this book with me for the first year of sobriety and mindfully lived what it said throughout my daily life. Following this I bought and utilized many other daily meditation books and continue to do so. I also wrote and published my own form of this book. Book Description

Have you ever heard of your inner child? Well, this is the classic book that started it all. In 1987, Charlie Whitfield's breakthrough concept of the child withinthat part of us which is truly alive, energetic, creative and fulfilledlaunched the inner child movement. Healing the Child Within describes how the inner child is lost to trauma and loss, and how by recovering it, we can heal the fear, confusion and unhappiness of adult life. Eighteen years and more than a million copies sold later, Healing the Child Within is a perennial selling classic in the field of psychology. And it is even more timely today than it was in 1987. Recent brain research, particularly on the effects of trauma on the brain of developing children, has supported Whitfield's intuitive understanding as a psychiatrist. About HCI Recovery Classics HCI's recovery backlist contains some of the most important and best-selling works in the recovery field. These books are still sought after today, selling more than 100,000 copies per year. I thought this was hard to follow and written more for a psychologist than an average person.

5 out of 5 stars Thrift store book changes Janis' life.......2007-05-17

In a thrift store at Christmastime my daughter swiped this book off the shelf and tossed it in my basket. As one of the other reviewers of this book said, I had thought references to "inner child" work to be hokie and I never gravitated toward formal Inner Child Work. With 12+ years in recovery in AA, AlAnon, and Co-dependency I was completely surprised to find a true "layer of the onion" would be removed and that this book would be a classic form of "more will be revealed" (recovery slogans). I just ordered a copy for my cousin whose childhood mirrored mine. She too has been in a form of 12 step recovery for about the same time as I. I would caution someone new to "looking at themselves" to get a therapist first and/or at least some of Melody Beattie/Carolyn Mysse's work under way. This book digs very deep----to places I have been exploring for a long time. It would flip my PhD sister out who has never done any recovery work....the going "family opionion" is that the only problem in the family was my drinking. The family opinion is dead wrong. I am the lucky one, I had a visible disease channel me into a life of living in the solution, not the problem. Give this book a try!!!!!!!!! It was the best Christmas gift I got last year!

5 out of 5 stars Finding Support on the Path to Healling From Abuse.......2007-03-10

Along with other books by Charles Whitfield, this book provides a sensitive, supportive path and permission to release your hidden child within, the child that guards your freedom and your soul, the child that guards the blossoms of your virtues and gifts that are waiting to grow you into the full person you were meant to be. It allows you to say, "I was an abused child. I grieve for the stunted paths I've followed because I could not find the way to say this soon enough and release the gifts that belong to me, and to STOP asking WHY (since a dead person can't answer), but to speak outloud: 'You did this to me and I did not deserve it. It was not my fault. And I am furious. I am finally furious for the crippled life I was left to lead, and the sick pain and depression that have been my struggle.' " Then you can bring forth that hurt child and weep with, rage wih, and comfort that child. You feel like a split personality for a little while but you will heal. You will find joy. You will never be sorry. I am 69.

Used for my final project in my Psych course. Very helpful with showing stategies that can be applied to help those who have suffered during childhood. My paper earned an A+

How to tell if someone you know is an alcoholic.

Why frequently prescribed drugs can be dangerous -- even fatal -- for alcoholics.

How to ensure a lasting recovery.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting information.......2007-10-04

I find this book fascinating. Having worked in the treatment field for a long time and having worked at Lakeside-Milam (which Milam started) I feel comfortable recommending and discussing this material.

I've met Dr. Milam and used to listen to him lecture. Interesting guy, soft-spoken, and full of knowledge. He is a true pioneer.

I've also been fortunate enough to work at Schick Shadel Hospital. If you like the work of Dr. Milam, I would invite you to check out the work from Dr. James W. Smith. Dr. Smith has been practicing addiction medicine since 1960. He is Board Certified in Family Practice and certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Dr. Milam was a pioneer, Dr. Smith is a legend. Knowing both approaches I'm excited to move forward in my body of knowledge.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent information!.......2007-05-16

I feel empowered with information. I can seriously say that for the first time, I am empty of judgement. On the cover it says "A life-saving approach to alcoholism" and that's the point I'd stress.

4 out of 5 stars Necessary reading for anyone who thinks they may have a problem with alcohol..........2007-03-09

and for their families who have the same suspicion. This book should be accepted by both those who embrace AA and those who avoid it. Simply learning how alcohol destroys one's body and mind could be a wakeup call for those in denial and especially for those sitting on the fence. The only drawback is that the book is a bit dated and would greatly benefit from an newer edition. Otherwise it is highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Informative.......2006-07-06

I appreciated the unbiased information presented in this book...It was quite eye-opening and really changed the way I view alcoholism. The description of the physiological process of an alcoholic was amazing, completely different than I would have expected. A good read, A MUST read for anyone learning about the disease.

5 out of 5 stars Alcoholism information.......2006-06-25

This book really made me think about the meaning of the word alcoholism, the causes and effects of the disease. Enlightening.

Book Description

Addictive thought is inherently self-deceptive, yet offers a superficial logic that can be misleading to the addict as well as to the addict's family members. Abnormal thinking in addiction was originally recognized by members of Alcoholics Anonymous, who coined the term "Stinking Thinking" Addictive thinking often appears rational superficially, hence addicts as well as their family members are easily seduced by the attendant--and erroneous--reasoning process it can foster. In "Addictive Thinking", author Abraham Twerski reveals how self-deceptive thought can undermine and threaten the sobriety of a recovering individual. This timely revision of the original classic includes updated information and research on depression and affective disorders, the relationship between addictive thinking and relapse, and the origins of addictive thought. Ultimately, "Addictive Thinking" offers hope to those seeking a healthy and rewarding life in recovery.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful, and right on time..........2007-03-28

I read this book, making notations every night before bed for about a week. Since, and during this read, I'm in the process of being able to recognize my own addict-voice, (key in recovery!) who's purpose is to binge. I am extremely grateful for having picked this up, I struggle with addiction, and this has given me another tool to stay on track, there's TONS of good information within this slim and easy to read book!

Thank you to Abraham J. Twerski!!!

5 out of 5 stars Addicts Think?.......2007-02-21

Perfect for anyone with an addiction problem. Dr. Twerski provides a number of excellent case studies showing the illogical thinking processes of people with addictive disorders. A very popular myth is that addicts are somehow basically smarter than most people. This book shows why only addicts think that.

5 out of 5 stars Most helpful book I've read.......2007-01-28

I read alot of books on addiction after a personal nightmare dealing with an addict- and this one of all of them was the most helpful in explaining an addict's thinking process. Many of us dealing with an addicted loved one feel lost and confused by their behavior. This book was so illuminating I've passed it on and on. Read this if nothing else.

1 out of 5 stars 12 step theology wraped in pseudoscience .......2006-07-02

There is no such entity as an addictive personalty . Often the author belittiles , mocks and discounts what a substance Abuser says . Few are truely in denail as they are seeking help , what denial really means is that the person disagrees with the 12 step counslers version of thier life and problems .
What the non medical term Dry drunk means is a person is not using or moderateing with out the help of a 12 step program
The reality is most people quit or moderate on thier own with out the religiious gibberish of a 12 step program that many have begun to veiw as a dangerous cult

Please seek other advice based on emprically reviewed science not ancetdotal nonsense dreged on out dated relgious dogma . 12 step treatment is nothing more than faith healing and the last time "denial " was used as evidnece of something was during the witch craft trails in te 16,00s . It is now 2006 we can do alot better than this.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Book on Addiction.......2005-07-01

This book describes explicitly how an addicts mind works! It is an excellent book for those trying to understand someone with addictive issues.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Absolultey on the mark.......2007-06-03

I have only just recently begun to read this book. But already I am absolutely shocked by how on target everything it says is. As I read the pages, I find myself wondering if the author has not been observing me and taking notes. I have always held a strong fear of sexuality, and always feel guilty when I find myself watching pretty girls or getting aroused. The author's descriptions if an interior world of denial and self doubt are precisely on the mark. I have not begun to utilize any therapeutic tips offered within, but so far I am deeply impressed.

5 out of 5 stars Great book I hate.......2006-11-10

This is a great book to get out of the denial of problems with intimacy and sexuality. It is to the point and gives great help for recovery.

5 out of 5 stars Finally a deeper perspective.......2006-03-30

After having tried different kinds of books and therapy which mainly is focusing on the technical aspects of sex with little success or progress, I feel that this book really goes behind the technical and offers a more complete explanation as to why some people have a difficult relationship with sex.
In comparison to other books that seem to tell you that if you have difficulty with sex you must have been sexually abused as a child, this book offers a more complete analysis and makes you think of little things and details which along the way might have caused you to find sex difficult, but in an uplifting manner, saying that it is ok and that you can solve it. It also tells you that you are not the only one suffering from this fear of intimacy and that it is ok and you can do something about it.
In my opinion it is a very well written book and is worth reading for a lot of people in order to get a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them, focusing on how intimacy can be difficult and providing solutions to work through it.

4 out of 5 stars Empathetic and brave.......2003-02-06

This book has been very useful to me. It's written with a good deal of compassion and insight, and even though I think the authors oversimplify some issues, they manage to get near the heart of what makes sex so difficult for many people. The recommended activities are generally weak and none too useful, but that's true of most self-help books. Even the good ones.

5 out of 5 stars About the Book.......1999-08-14

Enables those suffering from this disorder to recognize that sex need not be a furtive enemy to be fought & defeated but, instead, a deeply sensual, passionate, fulfilling & spiritual experience that all human beings are innately entitled to.

5 out of 5 stars Help is on the Way.......2007-09-12

I was skeptical at first about reading a book on the steps. I wasn't sure if it could help me. I had attended a few meetings and thought I knew some of the concepts, but this book opened my eyes. I think that Melody Beattie is very personal and caring in the mind of a codependent. She made me feel like I wasn't a bad person and I could recover from the out of control way my life has been. I'm only on step three, but I feel like I understand more than I have my whole life about who I am and my own needs. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with codependency or with the addiction of a loved one. I never even knew I was a codependent, but the book has taught me that I am and its ok, I just need to start making changes.
