) My kids have learned several animal noises and the word, "no" from the simple, sweet plot. Highly recommend for babies and toddlers.
Where's Spot.......2007-01-09
Spot books are very appealing to the young child. They can't wait to read the book.
Really keeps their attention.......2006-11-13
When I read this book to my 16-month old twins they get so excited. Each page has a flap to lift while searching for "Spot." They can hardly contain themselves until they can lift the next flap. They fight over who gets to do it on each page. I highly recommend this book. One negative for me, after reading this book a few times, they really picked up on the word, NO. Then again, aren't all kids this age eventually going to learn that word?
Spot is so much fun.......2006-11-11
My son just turned three and has LOVED this book for the last four months since we got it. He wants to read it all the time and practically has it memorized. He LOVES lifting the flaps to see who's underneath.

fun problem solving puzzle to introduce art to kids.......2007-04-09
This book was a lot of fun for my son and I. Readers are told that four gangs of forgers have replaced most of an art museum's paintings, and only we can help figure out which are real and which are forged. Using a magnifying glass, you compare 8" by 5" four color paintings to 4" by 4" originals, looking for changes (such as missing items or objects with different coloration). This allows you to fill in a chart which allows you to deduce the forgers, the snitch and the unchanged paintings, thereby saving the museum. 34 painintgs are here, by Van Eyck, Piero, Uccello, Botticelli, Raphael, Leonardo, Gossaert, Massys, Holbein, Marinus, Brueghel, Avercamp, Brugghen, Rembrandt, Steenwyck, Velde, Hooch, Vermeer, Chardin, Perronneau, Gainsborough, Turner, Constable, Watteau, Os, Delaroche, Ingres, Morisot, Degas, Monet, Rousseau, Seurat, Van Gogh and Picasso. Each painting is accompanied by a couple of paragraphs about the artist and the painting. We both enjoyed finding the mistakes, filling out the chart and solving the puzzle; the game also stimulated a discussion of painting and artists. It took us a few sessions to solve everything, but it was enjoyable time. I would buy other books by this author.
Art without the "awwww Mom".......2006-11-10
I have found that this book sets the stage for helping children to really look at art. The "fraud puzzle" presented in the book makes the children really spot unique techniques of the artists in several different styles. They are able to see what makes one style of art unique from others over the centuries as styles changed.
Art Fraud Detective.......2006-02-26
I bought this book for my very bright 10 year old granddaughter's birthday. My friend who is a librarian had bought it for her 12 year old niece and said she loved it and has asked if there are anymore in the series which there are. My daughter taped the answer pages together so she couldn't look at the answers and says that my granddaughter can't put it down. She loves it and I am willing to bet she will ask for the next in the series when she finishes Art Fraud Detective. This book is a great way to foster interest in art and artists.
Art with a twist.......2006-02-21
This book is a great way to familiarize children (and adults) with some of the greatest artists in history. Searching for clues as to whether or not each masterpiece is a fraud causes one to closely study the pieces in great detail. My daughters love looking at the art and doing the detective work. They usually want to go through several pieces each time we pull this book out. I highly recommend it to people of all ages!
Mystery lovers will love this book.......2006-01-31
My seven-year-old son says that he wished it were more entertaining. I guess I feel somewhat disappointed that he races through to detect clues to determine the frauds without reading the artist write-ups. But it's a good introduction to art history and appreciation and it certainly captivates those who love to read mysteries.

Better then I expected.......2007-05-07
I am very please with the quality and the price. Very entertaining. I purchased these books for my fiancee' who loves spot-the-difference picture puzzles. He has tried numerous ones in the past that only held his attention for a minute. I actually heard him laughing because he could not locate a soccer ball in one of the pictures. Needless to say, I was pleased because I had finally found a couple of spot-the-difference picture puzzles that held his attention for longer than a minute. I highly recommend these books.
great fun for many age groups -.......2007-01-09

Customer Reviews:
Good, but not as good as `Where's Spot?'.......2005-01-13
Although `Where's Spot' is my son's absolute favourite book, this did not meet with the same degree of enthusiasm.
That's not to say he doesn't like it, just not as much as `Where's Spot?' ... maybe it's the repetitive text in that one or maybe the novelty value was worn down, but both `Spot goes to the Farm' and `Spot Visits his Grandparents' seem to work as a "side-dish" for him i.e. only good alongside `Where's Spot', though does read both more often than most of his other books.
All in all, I'd say buy this book, but with `Where's Spot?'
Fantastic!.......2003-08-07
My nine-month-old daughter LOVES Spot Goes to the Farm. She can lift all the flaps by herself. We love the board book edition -- it's so sturdy! This book is just plain fun! I can't recommend it enough!
We love Spot.......2002-02-02
Spot the Dog books are a favourite with my girls. They love the simple stories that they can relate to (hiding, baking a cake, playing with others etc) and the lift-the-flaps always bring screams of delight even though we've read them many many times. As they grow I'm sure they'll be one of the books they learn to read with. The words are simple and the font easy to read. Lovely books to cuddle up with your children on your lap. They are also big enough to hold up and read to them as they sit in back seat on car trips.
The best Spot book ever!.......2001-06-09
My baby and I love this Spot Lift the Flap book. Only this one and Where Is Spot is in this sturdy board addition. The farm animals are so cute! Spot goes out looking for baby animals and finds some pigglets and kittens. My favorite page is Spot in the duck pond looking for Duckling. My baby loves to lift-the-flaps and this book calms her down when she is fussy. One of the all time best baby books on the market to me!
Make the spot books a part of your toddlers library!.......2000-05-03
Make the spot books a part of your toddlers library collection. These books are durable, quick and easy to read and the "lift the flap" aspect makes them perfect for toddlers to join in. In this book, Spot the dog and his dad are looking for baby animals on the farm. This is a theme that children enjoy. The pictures are large and colorful and the story is simple, yet entertaining. My toddler LOVES this book and yours is sure to love it too!

Old School.......2007-07-29
The book was in good condition; my 4 yr old enjoys it and can read most of the words.
All Schools Should Have These Books For Early Reading !.......2006-06-15
I learned how to read from the "Dick & Jane" books....early 1960's They are fun to read. This is why I purchased this book and other "Dick & Jane" books for my son. I just received the book(s) in the mail two days ago. My son has picked up on the words and stories very quickly. His confidence has built up in the last two days...he enjoys reading these books. He will be reading these books all summer long. When he starts Kindergarten in September, i'm sure his school teacher will be impressed. BRING THESE BOOKS BACK INTO THE SCHOOLS!
My daughter (age 4) loves Dick and Jane.......2005-02-02
The stories in "Go Away, Spot" are not included in "Storybook Treasury of Dick and Jane and Friends," until some other books in this series. These books have been great for my daughter learning how to read. I thought she would find the stories to be boring because of the controlled vocabulary (stories repeat the same few words over and over), but the illustrations keep her motivated to read the story. These books have been a great confidence builder. Reading these books has helped her develp an identity of being a reader.
A True Classic.......2004-01-18
I grew up with the great adventures of DICK and JANE. I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She is in Kindergarten and knows a great deal of sight words. She is capable of reading this on her own, and she absolutely loves it.
I too am a teacher, and I feel that the basic reading skills that Dick and Jane teach will help all children to become better readers.
Mother in ND.......2003-12-04
Lets get back to basic sight words. We loved this book becouse of the repeativeness, and the confidence it built in our childs reading.I you have a child with reading difficulties this is the answer.

Exercises Shown are Great for Male or Female!.......2007-09-12
I bought this book when it first came out, mainly because I am a big fan of Rachel (I fell in love with her in Pumping Iron 2 The Women). I started looking at the exercises that she presents and I realized that many of them can work for me (I am a male). Now it is close to 20 years that this book came out and it is still relevent providing a fundamentally sound work-out regimen that anyone can use to attain or maintain a strong lean physique. Joyce Vedral has an understanding of the human body that few "self-proclaimed" experts (ex. John Beisdow) seem to have. Don't waste your money on some of the overpriced newer books that promise alot with their beautiful models and deliver very little. Try this book instead!
Great Muscle Sculpting Book.......2007-08-27
This is one of the few books out there that actually tells women to lift as much weight as they can handle comfortably, and that's a great thing! Most books only tell women to lift three to five pound dumbells and omit barbells all together. They are simply playing into many women's fear that they'll turn into a steriod freak naturally by lifting weights for an hour a day. It literally can't happen, ladies. This book is great in that regard. The diet is a bit sparse, through (I didn't see any mention of dairy, and as we know now, dairy actually helps to fight fat as well as building the bones which women, esepcially weight training women need). I also didn't care for Ms. McLish's proselytizing (can you imagine Shakira dedicating a sexy video to the "only perfect person who has ever lived Mohammed"? Ms. McLish basically does this when she dedicated a book where she bends over in a barely there bikini to Jesus. Nice, Rach.), but you can always roll your eyes and ignore. All in all, one of Ms. Vedral's best workout books, although for nutrition I would reccommend another book (perhaps "You on a Diet). I just don't feel that the meals will supply enough fuel to help ward off the sweet tooth and sustain one through the gruelling (and they are, that's why they work!) workouts.
Disappointed.......2007-08-04
I bought a new book and received one that had several pages that were black, as if they were copied too dark.
I cannot comment on the book as it was difficult to read due to poor publishing.
A must read for women who are into fitness.......2005-08-05
I recentley bought this book because a friend of mine that is a trainer reccomended it to me. The instructions are easy to follow and the book is filled with beautiful pictures. I enjoy the book and I often utilize the moves from various sections to reduce some of my trouble spots. I would reccomend this to any semi-or higher experienced female weight lifter. I have loaned and reccomended this to many friends. It is a definite addition to any woman's collection of fitness material.
For newcomers and old hands alike.......2005-03-08
This is an excellent guide to bodybuilding for women.Looking at Rachel's pics should give you some motivation.Everything is clearly explained.Highly recommended

Paperback binding won't last long with your toddler.......2007-07-10
I wasn't paying attention to the binding type when I ordered this book. I was surprised when a >paperback
< lift the flap book arrived. I returned it immediately as my toddler will destroy this book within a week.
Not worth the $.......2007-06-03
This book is big and like a coloring book. It is easy to rip and clumsy to handle. Do yourself and your little one a favor and buy another book.
Nice book!.......2007-03-16
My toddler really loves this book, with its large pictures and colorful layouts. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the fact that I wish the flaps were easier for a toddler to open, they are thin and tear easily.
Great book for toddlers.......2006-07-28
This book is interactive without the use of batteries or electronics. Small children love to lift the flaps to answer the questions posed by the text. The one drawback of this particular edition is the size. It very large for younger children (2-3 years old)
Wonderful book for young toddlers.......2004-07-02
We were delighted to find this larger and longer "lift the flap" book for our 18 month old daughter. She has been enamored with all the books in the Spot series, and has enjoyed lifting flaps since she was less than a year old! This book is just wonderful because there are about three flaps to open per page, and the pictures are large and the paper is sturdy. It's so fun to read with your toddler and teach them about animal sounds, colors, shapes and numbers. The big size of the book makes it a little less portable and harder for small children to hold on their own, but we have spent many fun hours together reading this book. My daughter's eyes still light up when we get it off the shelf. I highly recommend this for everyone!!
