Book Description
America's most sought-after executive coach shows how to climb the last few rungs of the ladder
The corporate world is filled with executives, men and women who have worked hard for years to reach the upper levels of management. They're intelligent, skilled, and even charismatic. But only a handful of them will ever reach the pinnacle -- and as executive coach Marshall Goldsmith shows in this book, subtle nuances make all the difference. These are small "transactional flaws" performed by one person against another (as simple as not saying thank you enough), which lead to negative perceptions that can hold any executive back. Using Goldsmith's straightforward, jargonfree advice, it's amazingly easy behavior to change.
Executives who hire Goldsmith for one-on-one coaching pay $250,000 for the privilege. With this book, his help is available for 1/10,000th of the price.

Leadership Development 101.......2007-10-03
I have coached over 500 individuals over the last 10 years. I do referral only business. After reading Marshall's book, I felt as if someone punched me hard in the stomach! I at first wanted to dismiss his premise that leaders want to win, be right, and generally look good. Was that me? After careful reflection and becoming introspective, I found Marshall's insights profound, and so simple, not only as a coach, but also as a manager in business. I now use the book as a reference book, and have purchased two copies. For me it's a must read for anyone interested in their personal development, or the development of others.
Good, but not the whole story.......2007-09-16
Bo Burlingham's book offers an interesting look at the ultimate objectives of privately held businesses. Each case is unique and engaging. However, I think Bo could have spent more time discussing exit strategies. Some of the owners stuck with their companies when they could have cashed out and do an even bigger, better company with the proceeds. Risk has to be considered and the failure to more heavily weight this aspect is the only issues I have with Mr. Burlingham's book. I will pass it along to others.
This years fall must read!!.......2007-09-14
I have recently graduated college and decided to read this book for that short time in between school and the real world. Although, it's intended for top CEO's, I believe this book has help me become more successful. For starters, I did get my first full time office job after reading it.
Marshall's book inspires you to become a better leader, as well as a better person by learning how to communicate more effectively with co-workers, which easily carries over into other facets of life. Marshall uses smart tactics such as humor, personal stories and work stories, which all make the book very relatable and helps get his points across.
It's a very fun and effective way to learn the business dos and don'ts in order to succeed. I recommend this book to CEO's, high school students and everyone in between!
Getting to the next level in life's journey.......2007-09-13
This is a must audio for anyone that wants to get to the next step in business. This audio is also a must for all of your subordintes.
Incredible book.......2007-09-12
This book is a step by step exploration of the holes we "successful" types dig for ourselves. It really lays it out in a way that's easy to hear - what you're doing wrong, why, and how to fix it. If you want to be much more successful, or even just more effective as a leader or as a person, read this book.
Book Description
Beth Moore wants readers to know if God could lift her out of the pit, He can get ANYONE out! She admits she wasn't just a visitor; this former pit-dweller had to be delivered from acres of life-accumulated dirt, bone-chilling darkness, spirit-deadening anger, heart-breaking desperation and mind-numbing confusion. The permanent lessons she learned in her desperation-shared in this very personal book-are lessons of hope for all of us. While she deeply empathizes with the hows and whys of life in the "pit," she continually points readers to the deliverance that awaits. Deliverance is for everyone, she proclaims-no matter how you got stuck, no matter how long you've been down, whether you think you deserve it or not. And in her straight-talking but loving style, she reminds readers that deliverance can begin for them this very day.

First Beth Moore Book? It was mine..........2007-09-27
Before reading this book, I had never read anything by Beth Moore. Although talented and driven in her call, her style of writing is conversational and, at times, confrontational. As I was reading this book as a member of a club, I did not put it back on the shelf and suffered through becoming comfortable with a one-sided conversation. I am quite happy that I did.
If you have not read Beth Moore before, give her a chance. Let her "Talk at you", and respond with prayer - He is the one you are looking for a conversation with!
A Bit of a Disappointment.......2007-09-12
I was hoping this book would have some solid answers for me to get out of my own personal pit but all it did was describe many different types of pits without alot of specific sure fire help and ways to be free. I think it's great that so many of you found help with Beth's book, but if "I" had to do it over again, I wouldn't buy it.
What a blessing!.......2007-09-09
Whether you are currently in a pit of your own making or have been tossed in a pit via the wrongs of someone else or just difficult life circumstances, this book is such a wonderful tool to help keep your eyes on God through it all and to "get out of that pit". This is the third Beth Moore book I have read (the first was When Godly People do Ungodly Things and I am ongoingly reading Praying God's Word Day by Day)and she is such a blessing--accessible and solid.
Beth is at her best!.......2007-09-05
I read this book when I was in a pit, myself. Beth's bubbly personality came shining through in this book and made me laugh when I didn't especially feel like laughing. She has the ability to make you feel as if she's talking to you like a true girlfriend and you come away with the feeling that, "Yeah, she's been in a pit too and came out victorious." I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a good pick-me-up and a catalyst to turning to God for guidance in those times in your life when things seem overwhelming.

Former Pit Dweller.......2007-09-02
This book helped me to change my life for the better. If things don't seem "quite right" in your life, you need to read this book. It can help you too! I have heard that Beth Moore is a good writer and speaker, now I can agree.

Fantastic!.......2007-09-12
I sure wish I had read this book years ago. I finaly understand a lot of issues that had always confused me, and I didn't realize how much I didn't know until I read this book. I'm buying copies for all of my close women colleagues, and starting on it again from the beginning. In fact, I know a lot of men who could benefit from reading this book!
A good kick in the pants!.......2007-08-27
This book was a great eye opener to the "girl" mistakes I make on a daily basis. I have read the book several times and each time I find something new to improve on. I have found myself passing on advice from the book to other women in the office.
This Book is the Bible for Women Who Want To Get Ahead.......2007-08-26
Nice Girls Don't Get The Corner Office is by far the best book I've ever read aimed at helping women own their power not only in the workplace but in every aspect of life. It's essentially a complete strategic plan for growing and advancing in your career. As a female business owner, I didn't realize how often I diminished my power by falling into many of the mistakes that Dr. Lois talks about in her groundbreaking book. This is one book that you need to keep in your professional development library.

Excellent book.......2007-07-22
This book examines how the messages schoolgirls in America absorbed about being "nice" are detrimental to them once they join the workforce where the rules of expected behavior have long since been set by men. I gave my copy to a young woman I was mentoring who was afraid to ask for time off, when her male peers tended to just inform the higher-ups. I immediately recognized this behavior from the book, and insisted that she read it.
perfect guide for women in the business world .......2007-06-08
I like the book very much. It helped me much in my career.I made many mistakes before I found this book. I didn't believe the normal behavior of the women sabotage their career, but it is absolutely true. It helped me to gain a lot of success. It is a perfect guide for women. I would recommend this book to every ambitious business women, who would like to progress in her career. Good luck to everyone!

Author completely misses Outlook's powerful heirarchical capabilities........2006-11-08
The result of using Outlook the way this author recommends is that you'll essentially have two separate lists: one list of all your projects and another list of all your "next actions". Since you'll be able to sort your next-action list according to the context in which each action will be done, this arrangement is better than nothing. But the problem with this arrangement is that with it, Outlook maintains neither project-to-next-actions connections nor next-actions-to-project connections. The author would have you list "next actions" within each project's Notes field to link the project to its next actions, and the author offers no link of each next action back to its project.
The author has missed a simple, powerful solution to this problem. When using Tasks in Outlook, the Tasks folder offers a heirarchical directory structure in which it's very easy to add folders and subfolders, just as one might do in Windows Explorer. Each of these folders that you create can be named to represent a project, and the next actions for each of these projects can be stored within the project's folder. Then all you have to do to see a list of all your next actions (across all projects) is to run a quick "Advanced Find" on your Outlook Tasks folder. Once you get the criteria of your search the way you want them, your search criteria can easily be saved, allowing you to recreate your "next actions" list with current data whenever you want it. If you include the "In Folder" field to display in your search results, then this field provides your next-action-to-project connection; and when you're reviewing your Outlook Tasks folder, the directory list of folders is essentially your project list, and within each project you see only the next actions associated with that project, so it's easy to maintain a project focus when planning your projects. Also, when using Outlook this way, many additional Outlook features can be used as well.
This book offers a few good ideas, but by failing to describe a simple and powerful way to have Outlook itself maintain the association of each project to its next actions, this book cannot be strongly recommended.
Great book to start getting organized.......2006-09-11
This book gives you great ideas about how to get organiazed and get things going. The only thing is that you will really need to use and get along MS Outlook pretty well, else you'll miss some of the tips and tricks in the book.
Pretty good start-up place for those who need some pointers at how to classify and prioritize tasks, events, items, and almost everything.
Take Back Your Life!.......2006-07-10
I'm not even to the end of the book and I already have my e-mail box emptied to zero, all my documents and files organized on my computer into an easy reference system so I know what information I already have. I am going to apply the same principles to my paper files this week. I had so much information stored and coming in that it is a huge relief to gain control over it all! All because I applied what I learned from this book.
Stong Emphasis on Up Front Planning.......2006-07-03
I am a veteran Franklin Covey planner user and consider myself very well organized and a strong time manager. Our company recently made the move to outlook, and I purchased this book hoping to get some tips on how to make the most of planning with outlook from someone who had a time management orientation. What I didn't expect was to learn anything more about time management. Boy was I wrong! Sally provides some real eye openers about spending more time up front planning tasks to get to "Strategic Next Actions" - tasks you can actually do without any dependencies. She also packs in excellent tips on setting up a reference system, handling email, and using the outlook task categories to their full potential.
I was able to achieve my basic objective with this book. My planning system was one where I used my Franklin Covey Plan Plus for Outlook software to create a daily task list each day with only items I could do that day, and used a collection of spreadsheets and word documents to track more complex "projects." Sally show how to integrate all of this into outlook with both planning and action tasks.
If you are looking for an indepth book on outlook however this isn't it. Instead its what it is advertised to be - a book on organizing first that tells who how to use outlook to implement the organizing system Sally has developed. The outlook information you need to implement the system is provided in a concise fashion and was very helpful to me.
Outlook on Steroids.......2006-04-02
I discovered this book while searching for something to help me manage the relentless flood of email coming at me every day (I had 900 unread emails at the time). I thought if I could become an outlook power user, I might be able to manage that number down. This book helped me learn the ins and outs of outlook, but more importantly, taught me a compelling approach to managing my crazy, demanding, overcommited, multi-tasking life. Mind you, I was a Franklin Planner flunky and a Day-Timer drop out, which made me a motivated learner. I literally devoured this book - read it cover to cover in just a few days (with a highlighter). Along the way I configured Outlook the work way the author recommends. I discussed it with friends. I actually implemented my own "IMS", which I think is what sets this book apart from David Allen's "Getting Things Done". You could read GTD, but the content may just "wash over you" and not make a practical difference in the way you work. This is specific, hands on, step by step instruction that if you're serious, will change the way you work in Outlook for the better. Highly recommended . . .

Fun but a little too compulsive........2007-10-04
I bought this for my daughter, to help her with her house, life, and anything else. I didn't want her to be insulted, so I read it and told her I bought it for me but thought she might like it too. It started out great, great ideas, funny, fun. But it got a little too over the edge....compulsive...neat freakish towards the end. I told my daughter to try to incorporate SOME of the Flylady's tips into her routine. She hasn't read it yet, but I'm hoping she learns something from it, because she is a very disorganized person. It seemed there were some discrepancies in the book about her life, which makes you feel she's making all of this up to make money, not to share her experience. Hopefully my daughter doesn't catch on to some of it.
Sink Reflections - Flylady - book.......2007-09-25
I loved this book and think it had great motivational ideas. Hopefully it will keep me encouraged to get organized and learn to FLY.
Boy do I need this book!!.......2007-09-13
I am starting to FLY, babysteps, but it is a beginning. It is way too fun! Can't wait to get on the live blog.
Convinced a skeptic.......2007-08-30
I've purchased all kinds of self-help books over the years, and this is the first book that I read, felt inspired, start doing just a couple of the steps right away, and felt an immediate difference in my life.
The FlyLady is not telling you something you don't know, but that's kind of how therapy works. I really felt that she could relate to me and the simple suggestions she makes work. I've only been doing it a couple of weeks, but already I am more inspired and my husband is too!
Changed my life.......2007-08-17
Just 15 minutes a day and swish & swipe has changed my life. I don't do all the recommendations but just using a few has really changed the way my house looks.
Book is easy and enjoyable to read.

Eating Frogs!.......2007-09-15
I learned of this book from a friend who has the older version of it. I glanced through her copy and noticed her notes. She said you have got to get this, it will organize your life. I purchased the 2nd edition version, read the book through, then reread it marking the tasks that I feel will help me find the missing hours in a day, so things get accomplished, instead of brushed under the rug. Sometimes it just seems to be amazing that it is end of the day, the week or even the month and it seems that nothing or not a whole lot seemed to be accomplished. I work in Direct Sales so it helps there also. It help me find the time to take care of the household, spend time with each family member and take care of their needs, and still be able to spend time with clients to be able to service them better allowing them to pass recommendations of me around. I also picked up his book Goals!, keeping them both close at hand so I can glance through and get that boost of energy again, with the "Yes I Can" attitude. "Eat That Frog", will get you out of procrastinating and working with goals, while "Goals!", will get you into setting goals, keeping them and accomplishing them, it is such a win-win!

"Last Friday...Was I Scared!--My Boss Almost Fired Me!".......2007-08-26
Do you procrastinate on important tasks? Do you wait until the last minute to do the most important of things both personally and on your job? If you are like 90% of all people, you have become prey to the monster of procrastination. Procrastination has nothing to do with laziness or lack of ambition, but has everything to do with the "fear of overwhelm". As humans, we can all become victims of overwhelm, but at last there is a solution. The absolute best book on "procrastination busting" I have ever read is Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy. After reading and following the advice Mr. Tracy lays out in this remarkable book, you will have conquered procrastination forever! Yes, I said--forever!! Remember, unless you conquer procrastination you CANNOT succeed at anything. Buy this book, and say goodbye to procrastination for good.
Other great titles by Brian Tracy are:

Focal Point: A Proven System to Simplify Your Life, Double Your Productivity, and Achieve All Your Goals
Thank you, Mr. Tracy for helping us to rid ourselves of the demon of procrastination for good!
This book will change you! .......2007-08-22
I think of all of Brian Tracy's books-- this is my favorite.
I teach "day management" over time management. So our opinions differ a bit on this. Brian has you prioritize the things you must do each day-- eating the biggest ugliest frog first. This is two fold. It eliminates procrastination and dread. I tell clients to do the thing they dread the most first. Why spend the day dreading that awful phone call? Anxiety builds and so does the discomfort. We are saying the same thing different ways.
Where we differ is that because I teach sales and self promotion-- you can find any frog uglier than your marketing responsibilities. My clients create their marketing plan, with daily action items they commit to doing-- no matter the number of frogs out there.
The energy over the visual of eating a frog is so emotional, it sticks. That is what makes this such a great book. I use the language with my clients, and I'll often hail an accomplishment accredited to "I just sat down and ate the frog".
This book will change your attitude on procrastination. I didn't believe it, because although most people tell me I do more than anyone they know-- I can dig my heels in as stubbornly as another. But when I feel that wave coming on-- I just "eat the frog".
Eat That Frog.......2007-08-17
A quick read with clear, concise, actionable steps to improve time management. A good resource for any field.
Amazon.com
This is a survival guide for parents who find themselves marooned among volatile and incomprehensible aliens on Planet Teen. Area maps cover the obvious ground--there are chapters on school, sex, suicide, and so on--but it's the title of Chapter 2, "What They Do and Why," that best captures the book's spirit and technique. Anthony Wolf's modus operandi is not so much to make pronouncements about what parents should do, as to explain adolescent behavior in a way that's bound to leave parents with a changed view of the plausible options. Wolf is a clinical psychologist, and his writing is clear--even witty--and he doesn't resort to jargon. The expository text is punctuated with snatches of illustrative dialogue, which serve as concrete examples and help parents learn how to see, anticipate, and avoid "bad strategies." (One key mistake is getting dragged into no-win conflicts instead of having the wisdom to shut up at the moment when shutting up would be most effective--albeit the least satisfying--thing to do.) There are also some nicely tongue-in-cheek samples of "ideal" communication--the stuff we imagine might get said if only we were better parents. After one such rosily cooperative and considerate interchange between a father and his adolescent son, Wolf offers the following two-edged comfort: "The above conversation has never happened. Never. Not in the whole history of the world." Message: Parenting adolescents is inherently difficult. Don't judge your efforts by otherworldly standards. --Richard Farr
Book Description
A brand new edition of the bestselling guide to raising teenagers
When Anthony E. Wolf's witty and compassionate guide to raising adolescents was first published, its amusing title and fresh approach won it widespread admiration. Beleaguered parents breathed sighs of relief and gratitude. Now Dr. Wolf has revised and updated his bestseller to tackle the changes of the past decade. He points out that while the basic issues of adolescence and the relationships between parents and their children remain much the same, today's teenagers navigate a faster, less clearly anchored world. Wolf's revisions include a new chapter on the Internet, a significantly modified section on drugs and drinking, and an added piece on gay teenagers. Although the rocky and ever-changing terrain of contemporary adolescence may bewilder parents, Get Out of My Life gives them a great road map.

Review of Get Out of My Life.......2007-09-07
I have found this audio book to be a great help in trying to deal with teenage issues. Most of what is stated is common sense, however, a lot of us need a reminder now and then. In addition, there were also a number of ideas presented which were contrary to the route I would have taken, in trying to manage my teenage son.
Why "managing your teenager" doesn't work.......2007-09-05
This book is a painless method of learning to deal with today's teenagers and why saying, "...but I didn't behave that way when I was your age" is simply irrelevant. Practical advice in a book that is a real page turner. I couldn't wait to read on from the example of outrageous teenage or parental behavior to the "this might work better" solution. Being a grandparent, I gave it to my long suffering son, the father of two teenage girls.
Get Out of My Life, but First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall?.......2007-07-05
Awesome book. It has taught me a lot with my 14 yr. old daughter. I have used the things that I had learned from this book and it works!
All parents of teens should read.......2007-07-03
I found this very easy to read and insightful. I thought Mr. Wolf was over hearing conversations in my house. It was recommended to me and I recommend it to you!
HOW MUCH WOULD YOU SPEND FOR PEACE? Buy this book!.......2007-06-01
I didn't believe the hype about this book, but after following some of the suggestions offered within, I see that it wasn't hype at all...it was duly deserved praise for sound advice. I have a really good kid who can be dramatic and a bit of a slug. Thanks to Wolf, we have had a fight-free week, and my kid is pretty much doing what she is asked without me having to ask her more than twice. Wolf's insights into how the teenaged mind works are enlightening and dead on. The book has given me some peace of mind, too, about what kind of an adult she will become, and that is invaluable. Just get this book...for the price of a pizza, it could buy you a lot of peace!

Total Disapointment.......2007-10-05
This is not a book but a sham, A full sized book was shown on the web-site, but when the order showed up it was a minature. After reviewing the web-site I was able to find the word minature in small print. Not sure if I will use Amazon again
Deceptive: Not the complete edition.......2007-09-06
[Added 9/07/2007] This review concerns the "Inspirio/Zondervan Miniature Edition" which is a hardback. Amazon has lumped this hardback edition with the full text hardback edition so the site does not indicate that this review does not concern the full hardback edition. Caveat Emptor
We ordered this book, thinking it was the complete edition of the book. Neither the Amazon page nor the book itself make it clear that it is merely an abridged version. The only way to tell is to note that this edition has 125 pages and a full sized edition has 200+ pages. Needless to say, we will be returning it to purchase the complete edition. I am looking forward to reading the content as I have heard good things about it.
Cute little item........2007-09-02
Be careful about your purchase. The one we acquired was a miniture version. The type was ok and you could read it, but the book was about 2" x 3". It was a miniture and not at all what we thought we were acquiring. We wanted the whole book. When ordering we did not notice that it was a miniture edition.
If you Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to get Out of the Boat (miniature edition).......2007-07-18
A nice, inspiring, easy-to-read but incomplete book, which contains a small portion of the original edition. The description should indicate, in addition to the dimensions of the book, that the full text is not included.
Cool little book, but spring for the full size.......2007-07-05
These miniature editions really are MINIATURE! So much so that handling them and the type size was not comfortable. I returned these and purchased the full size edition - much better! I am reading the full size one now - and it is excellent! The content of the book gets 5 stars! John Ortberg keeps his excellent sense of humor throughout the book, while still getting to the serious issues that will make even the most well adjusted person say - "Yep, I felt exactly like that!" I highly recommend this book to ANYONE, whether you think you have issues or not!

Book Description
A provocative expos of the negative effects of sugars and simple carbs-and how to break the addiction.
Most readers already know that succumbing to sweets too often can lead to obesity and diabetes. What many don't know, however, is that too many "quickie carbs" can bring on a host of other maladies-such as "brain fog," fatigue, mood swings, heart disease, and even cancer-from which millions may be suffering because of their sugar or carbohydrate habits. Once besieged by 44 seemingly unconnected symptoms, former "sugar addict" Connie Bennett, an experienced journalist, managed to kick sweets and simple carbs in 1998. She improved her health-and uncovered extensive medical research that substantiated her theory: people who eat too many low-caliber culprit carbs could be in sugar shock. Based on the insights of thousands of physicians, nutritionists, researchers, and "sugar sufferers" worldwide, SUGAR SHOCK!(tm) not only addresses how badly sugar affects the body, it demonstrates how everyone can kick the sugar habit.

Avoid Lethal Diseases, Look and Feel Better, and Enjoy Life More with a Healthier Diet.......2007-10-03
Sugar Shock! is the ultimate, up-to-date view based on research for describing how consuming high glycemic foods (ones that are quickly turned into blood sugar) can undermine your health, happiness, peace, and prosperity . . . not to mention your love life and appearance. As such, the book's title is a little misleading . . . white flour, white rice, and vodka are just as much of a problem as is adding sugar to your coffee or drinking high-fructose corn syrup in your Coca-Cola. To handle that, the authors refer to anything that quickly turns into blood sugar as a sugar.
I have read many books on this subject and learned a great deal from each one. Because of so much research being done that overturns false opinions about nutrition, there's a lot that's new to report. Connie Bennett and Dr. Stephen Sinatra provide an extensive bibliography that's worth the price of the book all by itself.
Too many of these "empty" calories (called that because they provide few, if any minerals and vitamins), and you may develop diabetes, cancer, heart disease, female infertility, deep lines in your skin, and accelerate losing your memory.
If that doesn't bother you, foods that turn quickly into sugars can make you feel lousy, be angry, kill your sex drive, make menopause worse, slow down your learning, and depress you.
Further, you can become addicted to these foods . . . about half as much as you can to cocaine.
Neither the food companies nor the government really care if you eat these foods that make you sick. But you should care. With this book, you'll have a good sense of what you should be doing: eating lots of protein, slowly digested fruits and vegetables, good-for-you fats (like those in most fish), and increasing your fiber in anyway you can.
The book provides several programs to help you shift your diet. Of the advice here, the best probably relate to going on a good-for-you diet for 3 weeks to make the switchover and having lots of emotional support as you do. In that sense, the advice isn't too much different from what you'll find from The South Beach Diet and related books. I suggest you check those out as well because you'll get lots of menu and snacking ideas.
But for sheer motivation to reform your eating, it's hard to beat Sugar Shock!
Go munch on something delicious that's good for you!
Do you want to change your life? Sugar Shock! can help.......2007-08-25
I was sugar addicted for years. When I ate sugar, I overate sugar: once I started, I couldn't stop. If I had sweet food for breakfast, I wanted sweet food for lunch, for dinner, tomorrow, and the next day... I was depressed, anxious, irritable, bitchy, and moody. I snapped at my children, lost my temper easily, and cried for no reason. My mood vacillated with my sugar binges, and my self esteem with it.
Does this sound like you?
Sugar Shock! can help. As Connie Bennett explains in her book, sugar is one of the most addictive, damaging substances on the planet. It is toxic to our bodies. And yet, it's pervasive: abstaining from sugar will mean making choices that are counter culture. At first, that can be challenging. Eating almonds while everyone else is enjoying ice cream may feel like deprivation.
But look at what you're gaining. No, I don't have apple pie at Thanksgiving, and I never will again. But here's what I found, in return: freedom from depression. Freedom from the guilt and shame that accompanied my sugar binges. Freedom from the terrible mood swings, irritability, and anger that plagued my home life. Freedom to pursue my life purpose. Freedom to be the woman, wife, mother, and friend I wanted to be.
The rewards are many. The sacrifices, really, are few. I don't miss sugar now. Honestly. My life is full: filled with real sweetness, not the toxic substitute.
Do you want to find freedom? Sugar Shock! can show you how. Freeing yourself from sugar will change your life: I guarantee it. This is one of the best books on sugar addiction that you can buy (I know: I've read them all.) The website is very helpful, too.
sugar and tobacco different ingrediants, same addictive qualities.......2007-08-24
I recently read Sugar Shock, and honestly the title really fits in information given in this book. It is SHOCKING to find out how we are lied to, cheated and lead down a road of disease, sickness and adiction. All for the sake of someone else getting rich! Amazing. This book is such an informative tool. I recently quit smoking, and i feel much better for doing so, but my body still was out of whack.. this book is really helping me figure out why. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a way to understand how sugar can really destroy their lives.
A Wake Up Call to how Bad I Was.......2007-08-20
I got this book at the recommendation of one the morning news programs because at the time I had sneaky suspicions that I was a sugar addict, and did not know where to turn to gain confirmation of this hypothesis.. While I waited for the book to arrive, I did my own further investigating to confirm my fears, this book did the confirming for me fully. Its an EXTREMELY easy reading book, and at times is so easy its confusing and actually boring. I'm not fond of the tagging back and forth between Dr. Sinatra and Ms. Bennett in how they present evidence. I'm more medically oriented, so I'd like less of the cutesy nomers Ms. Bennet and Dr. Sinatra place on their "bubbles of info". But, what this did for me is provide me with a checklist which Ms. Bennett lists were her symptoms of sugar addcition, which I checked all of except two. Yes Ms. Bennett's case was somewhat skewed because it was associated with a medical condition, but what the list showed me was that if I didn't wake up and recognize how HORRIBLE sugar and refined sugar is to the human body, I was going to be a Shrew just like her and more importantly do severe detriment to my health. I have since started a separate program (about 8 days into it), which does eliminate a drastic amount of sugar from one's diet and I can safely eliminate 90% of the symptoms in Ms. Bennett's checklist. Skeptics I am sure you will be too fast to call it coincidence, but my body tells me otherwise. Sugar Shock is just that, a SHOCK to wake you up if you think you have an addiction to sugar. Life is too short to feel terrible if you can feel wonderful. Thanks
So happy I read this book..........2007-08-14
I am so happy that I read this book. I read it in hopes that I could learn something, and then pass it along to my mom. We both overdose on the sugar, and thanks to the insight in Sugar Shock, I am inspired to change my poor habits. Now I am looking forward to getting the grocery list suggestions that are offered on the Sugar Shock site.
