Whack-tastic.......2007-09-27
When you're stuck, this helps get you unstuck. The cards force you to change your train of thought - helpful for when you can't seem to think of anything new. I write a lot of press releases on somewhat mundane and repetitive topics, and the whack pack has inspired some new ideas and made the task less tedious.
Yes, great pack!.......2007-04-12
It's amazing that this product gets five straight stars from all the reviewers. Nothing is worth a perfect score like that, but this product does. This is truly an amazing product. I used these cards all the time (well, maybe not all the time, but when I need a little boost of creativity, these cards really help.) I've had these cards in my arsenal for over ten years. I have not lost a card yet.
The author asks you to challenge the rules and ask questions. As President and Creative Director of a highly creative web design company called AUDIN Web Design, these cards resonate deeply in my creativity. These cards are rule breakers.
The author challenges you to:
"Think like a kid"
"Change its name"
"Look somewhere else"
"Listen to you dreams"
"Check you timing"
"Exaggerate"
And finally:
"Be whacky"
Bottom Line: If you don't like to read (a book) and you want to stimulate your mind, get these cards. They will totally change the way you think about creative (and maybe not so creative) problems.
Truly Useful .......2006-12-03
I think everyone should have a pack of this cards because everyone sometimes feels stuck with a problem to the point that he is unaware of other possible solutions. The ideas in this pack help to look at the perplexing issue from many different perspectives. Sooner or later one may see the light, an open door, most likely many, many doors leading to numerous possible solutions. These cards are a valuable tool for brainstorming ideas, prompting the person to think of ideas that might have never crossed his mind otherwise. The wonderful think about coming out with creative ideas is that you also have lots of laughs while you're doing it because you begin to think of wild, whacky and outrageously fun things.
Lots of great ideas!.......2006-10-31
I've never seen so many great ideas, and tools to break-through creative thinking!
It's the I Ching -- only better! .......2006-10-14
I love this set of 64 cards. Based on the ancient wisdom of the I Ching this card set is simply the most creative, brilliant way to problem solve ever invented. By using 4 archetypes, Explorer, Artist, Judge and Warrior, author Roger von Oech shows us how to use our creativity to to its fullest potential... in a really simple way with lots of examples. And sharing the Whack Pack with friends has led to many memorable discussions and projects! There's a reason this product has been around for such a long time. It's fantastic.

Great book for little gifts........2007-05-31
This is the greatest book ever written, in a nutshell, you can read this in 15 minutes.. I keep it around as a reminder of the Four Agreements... great gifts!! I order them several at a time. and give them away quite regularly, everyone loves them.
A beautiful little book.......2007-01-03
I absolutely love this little book. This is a summary of the full version but it is a wonderful way of encapsulating all of that in a concise manner. It's a nice one to have close by to read and reread again.
Love the Book, Love the Cards That Go With the Book...........2006-12-17
Loved reading the "Four Agreements" Book. These companion cards are a great addition to the book as they are bite sized reminders of the four agreements discussed in the book & they help you stay focused on keeping the four agreements in mind.
There are 48 cards in this deck--- with 12 cards focusing on each of the four agreements. The art work on each card is phenomenally beautiful and the cards are wonderful just to look at for their beauty. I find that if there is an agreement that I am having a difficult time practicing, then I can easily refer to the 12 cards that deal with agreement to help bring that agreement back into focus.
playfull support of the book Four agreements.......2006-11-03
easy exercises on the four agreements, giving way to many different situations: all of them happening so often in daily life

Looking for creative inspiration? Try consulting the Innovative Whack Pack. This worthy companion to the Creative Whack Pack will fire your imagination! Each card in the deck packs a two-sided creative punch. One side has a provocative insight about innovation from Heraclitus, the world's first creativity teacher. Roger von Oech enriches these strategies with amusing anecdotes and intriguing questions that will "whack" you out of old thought patterns. The result is a treasury of sixty creativity strategies that include: Appreciate Turbulence, Ask A Fool, See the Obvious, Beware of Hubris, and Reverse Assumptions. Play with the deck on a regular basis. Not only will it provoke original thoughts, it will also become a wise companion whose guidance you will welcome! "The Innovative and Creative Whack Packs are the indispensable salt and pepper of the creative thinker's daily diet." -Andrew Mercer

Save Your Money.......2007-06-30
The book that these flash cards were based on, "A Whack on the Side of the Head" is great book on problem solving and creativity. These cards are not. Save your money or spend it on another book on the topic from another author, such as "Conceptual Blockbusting - A Guide to Better Ideas".
Not Nearly as Good as the Book.......2007-05-23
After reading the book "Whack", this deck of cards was VERY disappointing.
It wasn't a "companion deck" but another condensed version of the book whose ideas were not nearly as well thought out, as well explained or put into a demonstrative use. I was expecting that the deck would help facilitate the ideas from the book -- something that could be used in a group as a teaching tool or alone as a quick means of problem solving. Not so.
The book, however, is *very* worthwhile.
A must-have book in your Creativity & Innovation Library, & must-have card deck on your desk top!.......2006-05-30
I am a raving fan of Roger von Oech's creative work as embodied in his books & card decks, namely:
Books:
- A Whack on the Side of the Head;
- A Kick in the Seat of the Pants;
- Expect the Unexpected;
Card Decks:
- Creative Whack Pack;
- Innovative Whack Pack;
- Ancient Whacks of Heraclitus;
I have used all his creativity stuff ever since I started my own strategy consulting (& book store) business in late 1991.
From my personal & professional experience, I would like to say that the entire collection of Roger von Oech's creative work has been designed to serve three strategic purposes:
- understanding - & removing - your mental blocks;
- breaking your habitual patterns;
- shifting your focus & changing your paradigms;
As a matter of fact, once you appreciate & commit to these three strategic purposes in your life, you will soon realise that there is nothing in this world to stop you from getting rid of old ideas & getting new & fresh ideas.
Allow me to quote Edward de Bono: "...the mind is habitually uncreative - it is usually preoccupied with organising masses of incoming data into convenient patterns. Once this pattern is established, then the mind tends to rely upon that pattern in future situations, in order to facilitate decision making & action in an otherwise complex world..." (The Use of Lateral Thinking).
Breaking old habitual patterns is definitely the first & foremost priority in your journey to creativity!
Once your shift your focus, you begin to change your paradigms or the way you look at the world around you. Always remember this: Your brain follows the direction of your dominant thought. Once you focus on something, that thing becomes the foreground. Everything else around it will fall into the background. Most opportunties are unfortunately hidden in the background. The moment you begin to shift your focus, you are pushing the 'foreground' into the 'background', & pulling the 'background' into the 'foreground'. Get it?
'A Whack on the Side of the Head' will help you to break through your mental blocks. They will open up your mind for innovation. This book is filled with provocative puzzles, exercises, stories & helpful tips.
'A Kick in the Seat of the Pants' takes you on a guided tour through the four stereotype roles of the creative process - Explorer, Artist, Judge & Warrior. Understanding - & applying - these roles will fire up your personal & professional creativity. Tactically, they will change your mental focus as you change to play each of the four roles. I would like to add one more role from what I have learned from the Japanese creativity experts: Antique Dealer. This singular role will allow you to combine all the four roles into one.
'Expect the Unexpected' uses thirty of Heraclitus' (the world's first creativity master) epigrams as creative springboards. It has intriguing questions designed to topple old habits of thought & fire up your imagination.
All the three card decks are basically extensions of the three books, to allow convenient usage during brainstorming sessions.
From my strategy consulting experience, these three card decks have proven to be inexhaustible sources of inspirations.
In fact, the 'Innovative Whack Pack' combines the creative power of both the 'Creative Whacks' & 'Ancient Whacks of Heraclitus'.
I strongly urge readers to seriously consider having the entire collection of Roger von Oech's creative work added to your Creativity & Innovation Library, & all the three card decks placed permanently on your desk top at all times.
Gives You A Fresh Perspective.......2004-03-28
I've been a long time fan of the Creative Whack Pack. I recently got the Innovative Whack Pack, and have found it to be just as powerful in stimulating my creativity. I especially like the way it combines ancient wisdom with practical creativity techniques.
A Fun Companion to the Creative Whack Pack.......2003-10-22
I'm the creator of this deck, and I had fun putting it together. It's like the Creative Whack Pack in that it has provocative and useful strategies for looking at problems and issues in a fresh way. Also, George Willett has done the illustrations (just as he has done for all of my other products). It differs from the CWP in that the stories and examples are a little longer, and also that each card has a 2,500 year old innovation insight (from Heraclitus) on one side and a creativity strategy on the other. Thus, you can use either side to provoke your thinking. In case you're interested, my two favorite insights in the deck are: "The way up and the way down are one and the same," and, "A thing rests by changing." My favorite way of using the deck is to pick one card at random in the morning, and have it be one of my innovation thoughts of the day. If you enjoyed the Creative Whack Pack, I think you'll get a kick (and some ideas) from the Innovative Whack Pack.
Book Description
By popular demand,
Doreen Virtue has created a beautiful deck of cards based on her best-selling book Archangels & Ascended Masters. The deck includes gorgeous paintings of 44 male and female cross-cultural deities, such as Ganesha, Merlin, Saint-Germain, Apollo, Pallas Athena, White Buffalo Calf Woman, Jesus, Moses, Yogananda, Green Man, and Kuthumi. The enclosed guidebook gives expanded explanations of each card’s meaning, and a brief history of each ascended master. As with each of Doreen’s oracle-card decks, the messages for each card are positive, accurate, and life-affirming.

Not A Bad Card In The Deck!.......2007-09-08
These cards have a wonderful vibration, all very inspiring, uplifting, encouraging. However, they are not without depth; they are more than just "sweetness and light." There is a suggestion that they can be used in combination with other kinds of Tarot (that can carry the darker undercurrents--necessary energies to be aware of in their own right), and I find there is a good balance that way.
Love it - Accurate, Simple and Enjoyable to work with!.......2007-08-22
I bought this deck to learn more about the Ascended Masters and to begin to work with their energies.
I was actually very surprised to see that world deities are considered ascended masters, along with New Age figures such as El Morya, Saint-Germain and others. In fact, the world deities make up most of the deck. My one complaint is that I actually would have liked the inclusion of more of the specifically "New Age" Ascensionist Masters (I realize many deities have become central Ascended Masters in the Ascension movement, such as Kuan Yin and Buddha, and would not have minded them being included), and seen the world deities go into a completely seperate deck. I was a little dissapointed, because I really did want to learn more about them through this oracle.
Other than that, I love this deck! Like her Goddess Oracle, I found the readings to be extremely accurate right from the get-go. I use these cards along with the Goddess Oracle to get an extremely well-balanced reading - in the accompanying book it gives a very simple method for using multiple oracle decks for one reading, which I recommend everyone give a try.
I would love to see an "expansion pack"-type deck for this one made that focuses more specifically on the New Age Ascended Masters, including the more intergalactic figures such as Ashtar. I feel I could really learn alot from such a product, and that was the original intent of purchasing this one. However, as a lover of world spirituality, it was fun to see many familiar faces in this deck, and to be able to to incorporate that wisdom into my readings and meditation.
Love Doreen Virture's Cards.......2007-07-27
I bought this deck to add to my collection of Doreen's cards. I have them all. These are as beautiful as the rest, I especially love the gold edges, however there are too many of the same cards from previous decks. The artwork is different but it's pretty much the same meanings. I was hoping for something new in this deck and it just doesn't have it. Even so, I will continue to buy Doreen's cards because I love the artwork in them and the positive inspirations.
Oracle cards.......2007-07-07
Best of Doreen Virtue's oracle cards! Highly recommend for the devoted mystic. These wonderful cards provide beautiful golden light to your meditation. Beautifully illustrated by talented artists.

Once again I am very pleased with my Doreen Virtue cards.
The cards are beaufiful to look at and the descriptions are very accurate.

The Original Rider Waite Tarot Pack .......2007-09-18
I have a couple other packs of tarot cards, but this pack uses pictures that are orignal to the tarot pack, in line with most books written on the subject. As for the reader the pictures are easy to understand, out of the four types of Rider Waite Tarot packs, this is the far superior to them all.
Nice additon to a tarot collection.......2007-08-08
I love the rider waite deck, I own 4 versions of it. I love to see the cards in different colors and different back designs. I have the Rider Waite, Universal rider Waite, Radiant Waite and Just got the Original version. What I like about it is that the cards a slick so you can spread them out in a line, This is good because some readers like to pull cards that way, The other waite decks do a poor job at spreading the cards out. The Back design is nice much better than the regular rider waite's Plaid. The Colors are soft, So some people bright colors are to much for the eyes, I don't have that problem but its can be nice to have a softer darker deck to work with, + Some clients may also like softer colors. The Radiant is very bright and is Full of color and the universal is light. The One thing I do not like so much is the dots on the faces of the people. But I can deal with that. This is a good starter deck, But If you want a deck with more color go with a clone deck like the universal or radient.
Cool coloring but too slick, shiny, and poor print quality........2007-06-26
I am SO disappointed in this deck! I'd seen a well worn copy of "The Original Rider Waite" and fell in love with the coloring, especially the seafoam greens in place of the water blues in the other Rider deck I have (ISBN#0-913866-13-x). I also liked the way skin is colored with red pointalistic dotting, as if to indicate blood/life in the flesh. Greys in the other deck are done in ranges of cream/beige/tan colors in the "original." Purples in the "regular" are a deeper, richer crimson in the "original." Red in the "original" is deeper, less orangey. Often color is visually textured like parchment or done in crosshatching lines of color, or tiny dotting of color, which looked great in my friends worn copy. I noticed so many more things in the images than I had in my other Rider Waite Smith deck and I liked the idea of having a deck with colors more closely resembling the original deck and symbolism. So, I could hardly wait to get this, but when it came in, my heart sunk. Another reviewer mentioned how shiny and slippery these cards were, which didn't sound good... but when I saw it for myself, it was much worse than I'd imagined. They're coated in some kind of plastic that is so shiny light glares off of it. I had to hold the cards at just so an angle to see them clearly. The upsides of the coating -may- be that it can make shuffling more slippery, which some may prefer, though I prefer cards with a more "organic" feel to them. Or maybe the plastic helps prevent moisture absorption? I haven't tested this theory out, yet, but I prefer cards that can "breathe," exchange with the elements in their environment and our hands. Perhaps the plastic coating was a way to cheap out on the paper quality and durability of the cards. It seems a little like this, when comparing the feel, weight, and flexibility of this deck with my regular Rider pack. I'm wondering if this coating will peel up from the edges... in some places it looks like there's a visible layering that could peel.
Also, the black outlining quality is unclear, blurry, compared to the other Rider deck I have. For example, it's harder to distinguish the zodiac symbols in the Charioteer's belt, nor the other glyphs of his "skirt." For analogy, if this deck had been printed on a home desktop printer, the difference between the decks would be like setting print quality to "draft" at times, and at best "standard," rather than "fine."
I'm not sure what to do with these cards... same them for emergency readings in misty, damp situations? Give them away? Try to return them? I just hope I can find a printing of the "original" colors, but less slick, shiny plastic. Maybe there was an earlier, better printing for this edition? I'm hoping my friend will tell me his deck was once so shiny and slick, but time and use will mute it. I'll follow-up if I find out.
2 stars for the coloring.
Of historical interest, but may not appeal to beginners.......2007-06-07
This was the first Waite deck I got and it just didn't appeal to me. The main problem is the blues of the original images that they reproduced for this deck have apparently all faded to a dull pale green that is very unappealing. I have since acquired the Universal Waite and find it much more pleasant to use. The Original Rider Waite is of historical interest, but I think will not appeal to many users. The packaging is well done, though Waite's Key to the Tarot booklet is less useful to a beginner than a book such as Rachel Pollack's Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom.
good beginner pack.......2007-04-11
ok so I was always interested into the occult. I always read about it, did some online versions of tarot, but I felt that I did not get the full experience. So after some research i got this pack for b/c i wanted the orginal version of the cards.
the deck overall is good, but the cards are WAY TO GLOSSY. I wanted that nice paper feel between my fingers, but all i feel is plastic. the pictures and quality are what i expected them to be, but just the way they feel was a real downer. its ok though, I am still having fun doing my own spreads and figuring out the meaning myself.

Customer Reviews:
love these cards.......2007-09-30
I highly recommend these cards as they are accurate, really beautiful and I felt a peaceful beautiful energy while using them. DV gives thorough instructions on how to use the deck and make the most of your readings. I saw the wonderful reviews on Amazon, knowing nothing about mermaids and dolphins, but decided to buy the deck, as it was one of her most popular. I attuned to Dolphin Reiki to enhance the use of these wonderful cards and recommend anyone interested in buying her deck, do the same.
Nice Deck!.......2007-07-16
As someone stated before, I too am a card fanatic. My excuse is that I need a wide variety of cards for my readings which is true, but I probably have over done it since I own close to 25 different sets. Anyway I recently bought this set after reading reviews and giving it some thought. I didn't want to buy this set at first because I didn't really know anything about mermaids and honestly, I thought they looked child-like, however I am a big Doreen Virtue fan and decided I'd go for it. After spending a little time with the cards, I found them to be quite accurate. To me, some of the card meanings are general and redundant, but I still find them to be helpful and accurate! It's a nice set!
Nice deck.......2007-06-28
to add to your collection, but I would recommend the Goddess Oracle cards by Doreen Virtue before this deck -- and I own both...
If You Love Mermaids You'll Love This Deck.......2007-06-27
Ok I admit it, I'm a oracle card junkie. I have probably about 10 different sets or types of oracle/tarot cards if not more. 3 of them are from the Doreen Virtue Collection. This set, the Magical Unicorn set and Healing with Fairies deck. Admittedly there is little variation with regards to card meanings but it doesn't stop me from appreciating any of them any less. The fact is that some people may be attracted to Angel Cards, others may feel an affinity for Mermaids and yet others a love for Unicorns. So while you may not want to buy Doreen's whole collection of card decks she offers enough of a variety that one will surely find something that meets your interest. Then perhaps move on to different line to mix things up a bit.
I am happy to stand corrected but..........2006-05-28
...I am a great Doreen Virtue fan on the whole, but I simply can't help thinking that she is simply regurgitating all the information and thoughts and insights we have heard before, in this pack. For me it is a case of re-packaging what has already been said a million times. The pictures are sweet enough, and very colourful, but I would stick to some of her other cards like the Archangel cards...I feel Doreen has simply thought
" Hmmm what mystical icon can I put on this new set to re-sell as something new ". I am cynical, but can't help thinking she is laughing all the way up her beautifully tailored sleeve as she checks her bank account.
Book Description
The magnificent Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck contains the kabbalistic and astrological attributions described in Aleister Crowley's The Book Of Throth.
Customer Reviews:
genuinine love the deck!.......2007-10-03
avoid the so-called green tints! When I first opened it, I just can't stop thinking that the deck will really enhance the esoteric feel and environment while meditating upon the cards!
Dissatisfied with color quality.......2007-08-08
After reading the book The Tarot Handbook by Angeles Arrien, in which she gives detailed descriptions of the very beautiful artwork on the Thoth deck designed by Aleister Crowley and painted by Lady Francis Harris, I purchased this deck expecting the cards to be as described in the book. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed upon receiving this deck. Most cards were only one color, looking bland. Artwork details were unrecognizable due to the lack of color variation. I returned the deck but am still interested in purchashing the colorful cards described in the book if found.
Uncle Al's legacy.......2007-04-25
Crowley broke ties with his former compatriots at the Golden Dawn and set out to turn the world on its collective ear. Along the way he created this breathtaking deck, with the gracious assistance of Lady Frieda Harris. This is an occult masterpiece of mythic proportions. It is his greatest work, and one of his few not riddled with lies and deceptions. It has been the tool of many a gifted reader and scores of magicians, prognosticators, charlatans, and even a few nefarious scoundrels of magic. It is alpha and omega - for it is both an extension of, and the counterpart to Waite's tarot.
The feel is dark elegance, with heavy usage of blues and gold/yellows, with grays and greens finding their way into the backgrounds. It is not that there is ANY lack of other colors contained herein. The notation is a hint at Crowley's disposition affecting the implied symbolism of such usage in that it guided the direction of creation of this deck. this deck reeks energy, even before you pick it up - but it has a life of its own and you must fit the deck, or it will not 'behave.' Until you experience the bond (or aggravated agitation) possible with this deck, you simply have to guess at how dominant a force this can (and will) be in your readings and ritual use.
This deck was specifically designed for ritual more than simple divination. Each card is a magical statement of human will over nature's wild (untamed) energies. In this way it clashed head on with Waite's vision of the magician in harmony. Just as there are many paths to your destination (whatever that may be) this deck is one of many. It either fits you, or it does not. But s to divinatory quality, none EXISTING [as of this writing] surpass this most excellent tool. I would not suggest this to anyone as a starter deck, as there is far too much occult (hidden) symbolism to learn of The Tarot that the novice cannot grasp from viewing these cards.
Note: This card draws far more heavily on astrological influences than others (Waite for instance) but it is not at all an astrological construct. A great ritual tool that is also a quality divination device if you have a solid foundation of knowledge in the Tarot AND Astrology (and other sciences here unmentioned, should you be so inclined). This is the best deck on the mass market for use with necromancy.
Creepy, Bad Energy.......2007-01-30
I've tried this deck on multiple occasions and find it creepy with bad energy. I think Crowley was a genius but he clearly abused whatever knowledge he was given and that negativity pervades these cards in an uncomfortable way. I'm not saying they're not accurate and this isn't a visually rich, masterful body of work on Crowley's part. But there are other decks out there that bring together the same elements without the strong negativity present here. (Try Haindl instead -- earthy & grounded but just as symbolically rich.)
Must have.......2007-01-10
What to say about this deck. Simply the best, and most complicated. But it does not mean that it is not for beginer. If you begin with this one you probably wont need another for rest of your life.

I love this deck!!!! The breathing exercises are easy. The position are fun. and it's real convenent.
Yoga Deck - awesome in so many ways..........2006-12-29
The Yoga Deck is really great for a number of reasons...
- Unlike a clunky book, the cards are easy to handle and refer to during yoga practice.
- Unlike a yoga video/DVD, the cards allow one to go at one's own pace.
- It's easy to create a yoga routine tailored to one's particular needs at the moment.
- If one only has a few minutes to devote to yoga, it's easy to simply pull one card, or maybe two, and really focus on those specific poses.
- The Yoga Deck is compact and easy to transport, and since yoga requires no more than a little space it's excellent for travel.
I own both the original Yoga Deck and Yoga Deck II and absolutely love them!
Very fun, lots of good info........2006-11-01
My wife and I learned a lot from this deck. It is very fun. The cards are laid out great with just enough info.

Excellent Work of Art with Angels' Influences/ visionary prophet daniel.......2007-09-28
I enjoyed Janet Boyer's review of this deck which has my agreement fully.I have 3 Angel decks by Dr. Doreen Virtue with good purposes professionally.I use the Healing for normal reversed cards bail-outs;Saints/Angels for those who I sense need Saints also; and Archangels when I need to import more strength to the readings of 78 card decks. This includes my use in Angel Readings as well. I will digress a moment: A professional reader(our Supervisor)gave us our First Angel Reading from which the angels divinations came perfectly true in reality! He gave us the deck to use in our readings ever since for my wife then(my soulmate is with them now!).,,,Rest your faith with the Angels' messages as they are your small, still voice within you telling you wisdom to follow your intuition. Acquire this deck for strength in your readings......Blessings....

Shuffled once, shuffled twice got the same cards, shuffled the next morning and got the same cards again...very accurate.
Wonderful Guidance with the Archangel Oracle Cards!.......2007-08-10
I highly recommend Doreen Virtue's cards. I recently purchased my fourth set of Archangel Oracle cards. I kept one for myself and gave the other three as gifts. These cards are right to the point and correct. They have been a big help in my life, an answer to many prayers for me. I was first introduced to "Messages from My Angels", also a Doreen Virtue issue as a gift from my dear friend. It is amazing as to the messages, whether you are asking about what path to follow with a loved one you are having difficulty with or even an everyday question. Beautiful artwork and lovely colors. Great for when you are going through a stressful time. I always seem to draw just the "right" card when I need a lift. The upbeat nature of the cards and positive "take the high road" messages can be useful whether you "believe" or not. Coincidence or serendipity or angels...if it works, use it!
Very helpful and calming.......2007-01-26
I was insired to buy this deck after a very personal experience to which I will not go into detail. I've had had several problems prior to buying this deck, and while they have not all dissapeared, the emotional pain from them is not quite as bad since I've been using these cards.
Out of Doreen Virtue's 9 Decks of Oracle Cards that are currently published, I have eight. This deck is not the prettiest, nor does it have golden edges, or the most beautiful pictures. BUT, it is the most helpful by far for me.
For those who believe in angels and their role as gaurdians and helpers to the people on earth, this is a great deck. It always gives the right guidance needed, and even when you can't think of a question to ask, just shuffling the cards brings about a calming effect.
There are 15 Archangels featured in this deck, each angel with three cards. Every card has a differant picture of the angel as well as a general theme and a little message. In the book, there are additional inspiring messages as well as information about each angel, which helps in getting to know them better.
(Also, this deck works well with Doreen Virue's Angel Guidance Board, as that too centers itself on the Archangels.)

Excellent Wiccan Tarot Card Deck for all Cartomancy Diviners & Seekers of one's Universal Awareness .......2007-07-05
I liked this Robin Wood Tarot deck very much.It is similar to the Rider-Waite standard deck in style.Yet,these cards are inherently Wiccan and more colorful in format.What i didn't like about these cards was that they have a confining border around the perimeter of the outer edges.This gives the deck an imprisoned feel that bounds the expansive flow of the images.A good example of a radiating deck is the Morgan-Greer tarot,it has no outer strip.When you lay them out on your favorite table or animal skin,the cards should outwardly transmit illuminating intuitive energy.Energy that can be easily attained from the card spread.People who use the Robin Wood tarot should also get the corresponding book.This completely explains the various changes made to the standard tarot cards.I would recommend this unique tarot deck to all,both novice and advanced soothsayers alike.
Fluffy and Uninspired.......2007-07-05
I'm sure this deck works quite well for some people. It's popular, that's for sure. It was the first deck I ever had a reading done for me on, and I've seen it everywhere (even being used by a public reader in Bangkok, Thailand). However, if you like weight and personality to your cards - this isn't it. They are well made cards and the artist's work is not unpleasing, but there is simply no character to them. The work is flat and uninspiring with no interpretive nature. Good for an absolute beginner or someone who wants to read publicly, but don't go into this purchase expecting a solid primary deck out of it.
Best Taort Deck I Own.......2007-03-26
I have many Taort decks as I read for my family and friends. But this is the one I use for myself, its always on the money. I wouldnt trade this deck for any others out there.
Beautiful Cards.......2007-02-08
I have 4 other Tarot decks so I was reluctant to buy another deck but I saw these as illustrations in Anthony Louis's Tarot Plain and Simple (a great reference book, btw) and just had to order them. And I'm really glad I did. They've quickly become my "go to" deck for reading. They are very beautiful cards and the symbolism works for me. I've found that what matters more than that though is whether a deck speaks to you... and this deck speaks to me.
Not a bad deck but don't buy into the hype........2007-02-01
This deck is often famed for it's attention to the minor arcana's art, its use of pagan symbology, and being a faithful follower to the Rider-Waite style. As a purely divination deck- it fulfills all expectations of performance. The stock of the cards is good, and their size perfect for use and laying out.
However, I find myself highly underwhelmed. The minor arcana art is indeed fantastic- and I can see why they talk about it so heavily after the utter boredom that was the major arcana. I am no stranger to nudity in Tarot and think little enough when it's done tastefully...there were points this deck was pushing the tasteful bar among the major arcana. Nor was the art particuarly impressive to me in the major, as noted. They brag that the minor arcana were not an afterthought- I can agree. This time it looks like the major arcana were.
To the claims of pagan symbolism I agree the deck mostly adheres to this- yet I find some of the symbol choices oddly placed: Such as a male angel-style figure on the Temperance card (a card largely noted as being 'feminine' to balance the oft-masculine Chariot) and the use of a Phoenix on a card that remains as Judgement...a symbol and a card that have very little in common. The less often seen Rebirth or Rejuvenation would have been a better fit to my mind, though I freely admit this is solely my opinion.
My gripe regarding the magician holding eternity (the Loop) rather than being crowned by it and leaving the wand among the other symbols is one not exclusive to this deck sadly. It's just being mentioned as I took the time to mention the other issues I had with other cards in this deck.
However, as many have said- the minor arcana are indeed fantastic. The deck is worth seeing if only to behold the works of art that are these 56 cards. It's just a tragedy the majority of the intial 22 are not so wonderous. My sole exception to that is the Fool. So it's not a bad buy- it's a real divination deck- but don't buy into all the artistic and symbolic hype.
