5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-09-30

I bought this CD for use as a relaxation activity in an early childhood classroom for 3 to 5 year old children and it's wonderful. If I could give it more stars, it would have 10! This would be great for your child to listen to at night to help them wind down for bedtime, or in the afternoon for a rest time activity, and it's great for the classroom. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Great for my 3 yr old!!.......2007-09-25

I have an especially bright but anxious 3 1/2 yr old. I wasn't sure whe was going to take to this cd even after I listened to it. But she LOVES it and goes to sleep every night listening to it! I think it gives her something other than monsters to think about as she is falling asleep. We have been nightmare free wince we got it a week ago!!! I am thinking of making a copy for my 9 month old to listen to in our room as well.. the voice is so soothing and maybe she will like it as too!

5 out of 5 stars Soothing and relaxing for little ones.......2007-09-23

I love these cd's. I got this for my 5yr old because he is highly sensitive. After the daily stresses of (to him) loud noise, ugly smells, crowed class rooms, this cd helped him make it through kindergarden. And now he's enjoying first grade. I don't know what I would of done without Indigo Dreams.

4 out of 5 stars A nice cd.......2007-09-08

My kids and I have listened to this, and it's very relaxing. My 4-yr-old son and 8-yr-old daughter have both been fairly wiggle-free during listening. It's a nice wind-down at the end of the day. Sometimes the speaker seems a little too slow-talking for me, but when I just relax and calm down, it doesn't bug me as much. I very much enjoy relaxation and visualization techniques, and am happy to pass along the benefits to my kids.

5 out of 5 stars Great for 4 year olds and 30 year olds!.......2007-06-22

I bought this for my 4-year-old daughter who is high-spirited and has a hard time settling down at night. She loves this. We keep the CD on "repeat" through the night. That way if she wakes up, she just listens to the CD and it puts her back to sleep. No need to come to Mom and Dad's room! Yay! It's also the only meditation CD that I enjoy, for myself.

Book Description

A fascinating exploration of the relationship between music and the mind—and the role of melodies in shaping our lives

Whether you load your iPod with Bach or Bono, music has a significant role in your life—even if you never realized it. Why does music evoke such powerful moods? The answers are at last be- coming clear, thanks to revolutionary neuroscience and the emerging field of evolutionary psychology. Both a cutting-edge study and a tribute to the beauty of music itself, This Is Your Brain on Music unravels a host of mysteries that affect everything from pop culture to our understanding of human nature, including:
• Are our musical preferences shaped in utero?
• Is there a cutoff point for acquiring new tastes in music?
• What do PET scans and MRIs reveal about the brain's response to music?
• Is musical pleasure different from other kinds of pleasure?

This Is Your Brain on Music explores cultures in which singing is considered an essential human function, patients who have a rare disorder that prevents them from making sense of music, and scientists studying why two people may not have the same definition of pitch. At every turn, this provocative work unlocks deep secrets about how nature and nurture forge a uniquely human obsession. BACKCOVER: “I know Dan to have a deep musical knowledge and strong intellect combined with a warm spirit and a big heart. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of popular music . . . He is a fine writer and has the ability to make difficult concepts very clear.”

1 out of 5 stars any impressario, non-performer, non-musician, lacks credibility.......2007-10-03

For a musicican, for one trained as a musician, this is a heady intellectual book. However, it often misses the point - entirely, aesthetically, and in practical terms. For instance, a piece practiced a 1000 times, according to the author, should be peerless. Obviously, this is not true. The native talent of the performer is paramount, and, most of all, the piece may be practiced WRONGLY 1000 times, of which, as a non-performer, the author is clearly unaware. The author also almost completely ignores the influence and insight of professional classical performers. The author is an administrator and impressario of rock and probably rap bands. The author has no training in musicology, and probably never talked to a musicologist. I admire the intent, but there are no breakthroughs here in understanding, or enjoying music, and no great insights into music's magic.

3 out of 5 stars Music For The Brain?.......2007-10-01

Certainly well documented and written for those in the know. It tends to be somewhat boring on some occations but you have to continue on the read to hear the music!

4 out of 5 stars Very interesting.......2007-09-30

Being a musician, I was suprised at how little I actually knew about sound. The book was very interesting and well written. If you're at all curious about the phycology of sound, check out this book.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely perfect marriage of music, psychology, and neurology.......2007-09-13

This was an amazing read that I absolutely could not put down. This is exactly the book I have been waiting years for. It is written for people with a deep interest in both science and music; I believe that many "engineer/scientist by day and musician by night" types will love this book. Best of all, it does not require a deep understanding of music, psychology, or neurology (although one of Levitin's premises seems to be that we ALL have a deep understanding of music, whether we know it or not!)

Levitin starts out with a chapter or so on his background and music theory. As many reviewers have mentioned, the music theory presented here (and throughout the book) may not be new material for practicing musicians, but it does lay a good groundwork for many of the definitions and ideas that Levitin uses throughout the text.

Moving on to the rest of the book, Levitin has an interesting style that I found riveting. The book is not highly dense with ideas - it is not a textbook. It often takes several pages to come to a point. However, in these pages, Levitin is either giving historical information about how the current theories have come about, telling anecdotes related to the topic, or explaining laboratory results that have shed light on the topic.

Please do not misunderstand the intent of this book . . . it is not a thesis, a textbook, a journal article, etc. It should not be used as a primary source for information on any of the topics presented. And Levitin lays this out in the forward. This book is geared toward a much broader audience.

3 out of 5 stars not written for a musician.......2007-09-07

Although i was personally quite disappointed with the book, I have given it a rating of 3 stars because it perhaps serves a role educating younger readers looking for a few interesting ideas or a general overview of music psychology.

As for me, I found myself skimming the pages as rapidly as possible, occasionally saying out loud in frustration, "Get to the point!" The few interesting ideas (such as that professional musicians tend to transfer activities from the right brain to the left) I had already picked up elsewhere.

I have nothing against the author. He seems friendly and nice enough, and has obviously spent a lot of time and effort researching the subject, coming to reasonable and well-supported positions. However, I do think a lot more (or better?) editing was called for, so that ideas were presented in a more organized way, and a lot of fluff and unnecessary repetition removed.

In summary, this could be an introduction to the subject if you have never thought about it before, but if you are a musician, and have thought at all about the psychology and evolution of music, even casually, and especially if you have kept up with the general media's coverage of new scientific research, this will not have anything to offer you. In addition, if you like writing to be dense with ideas and information (Oliver Sacks is a good example), this will be particularly frustrating.

5 out of 5 stars Preacher Recommended.......2007-09-08

Our pastor recommended this book (from the pulpit) to every married couple in our church! It is a frank, accurate, informative book on the importance and the execution of a healthy sex life within a marriage. The author doesn't sugar-coat anything or tip-toe around the matters of sex. It's helped my husband and I improve our sex life and our communication about it! I strongly recommend it to anyone -- newlyweds and oldlyweds -- seeking to improve their marriage or their sex life!

5 out of 5 stars great insights and information.......2007-08-12

This book provided excellent sex 101 info for what sex is intended for...intimacy between a man and woman. This book also enriched my marriage by inviting my husband and me into a greater level of intimacy after 10 years of marriage. It reminded us that God blesses and loves us to enjoy our intimacy. This book is for the to-be couple to get them thinking and planning for their marriage, as well as the newly and committed married couples.

Book Description

Paperback book and CD set. Effortless Mastery: Liberating the Master Musician Within is a book for any musician who finds themselves having reached a plateau in their development. Werner, a masterful jazz pianist in his own right, uses his own life story and experiences to explore the barriers to creativity and mastery of music, and in the process reveals that "Mastery is available to everyone," providing practical, detailed ways to move towards greater confidence and proficiency in any endeavor. While Werner is a musician, the concepts presented are for every profession or life-style where there is a need for free-flowing, effortless thinking. Book also includes an audio CD of meditations narrated by Kenny to help the musician reach a place of relaxed focus.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Book for what Ails you.......2007-09-23

The ideas in this book about self-awareness and practicing music are so profound -- and so true -- I've read this book three times this year.

Werner describes the thought process behind becoming a jazz musician. No one has previously described the mental pitfalls and hangups more clearly, sometimes it's like he has transcribed dialogue from ones own head. This book has made a difference in my playing and outlook, and for some of my friends.

For these reasons, I can't recommend this book enough (even if I disagree with him that meditation is the primary solution to the problems he describes).

1 out of 5 stars Effortless Redundancy.......2007-08-29

In my estimation, this is not a book for anyone who is struggling with how to develop a clear method for practicing the piano or any instrument. In fact, book seems to be more focused upon Mr. Werner's ideological views about society than with the real issues of serious piano practice. For instance, he spends several paragraphs discussing the downfall of society as a result of women being able to use pain killers during child birth and humans being able to eat canned peaches. Then he makes some offhand comment about menopause. One begins to wonder whether this man has serious issues of his own and should be therapy. The bottom line is the book is extremely redundant and is of no help. I wouldn't recommend this book to any of my students as it would be a complete waste of their time. This book is really nothing more than a reflection of Kenny's stream of consciousness: a submerged mysogynistic and puritanical view of society that would have been better served if humans had not discovered the benefits of technology.

If a student really wants to become a master, then he or she should study the harmonic form of the piece and immerse oneself in the beauty of that experience. As Webern said, "your ears may tell you where you're going, but you have to know why."

5 out of 5 stars Everyone should read this book.......2007-08-05

Even though, as a previous reviewer has noted, many of these truths should be self-evident, we forget them often. If nothing else as a reminder of what we already know, this book is a gem.

I would recommend this book for any musician.

5 out of 5 stars Calling All Serious Muscians.......2007-07-18

This book is simply and profoundly inspirational. I've already noted a positive shift in my perspective towards my playing and improvising. If you are serious about your music and want deepen your musical and spiritual practice, I would highly suggest reading this book over and over!

4 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for musicians of any instrument or style.......2007-07-12

I'm a drummer, and although Kenny is a pianist, the principles still applied.
He's a jazz man, and I prefer and play Rock, but his message still propels me to recommend this book. The only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 stars, is that I am Christian, and some of his "lessons" will definitely conflict with that faith. Disregard those passages, and you're still left with awesome material to internalize, and learn from.

Book Description

By the best-selling co-author of Inner Tennis, here's a book designed to help  musicians overcome obstacles, help improve  concentration, and reduce nervousness, allowing them to  reach new levels of performing excellence and  musical artistry.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars An absolute necessity.......2007-03-21

I had started music lessons late (piano for me, but the book can be read by any musician), had horrible habits, and played with tension. I was not exactly material for a musician. In fact, these things plagued me all my life, and even though I have two degrees in music from top schools, I always felt I was missing something; that I could play better if only something changed.

I thought I needed more finger dexterity. But I realized dexterity was not the issue; everyone can wiggle their fingers. My issue was a mental one. My inner voice (Green refers to this as Self 1) was constantly criticising me, and I was listening. As a result, I too often botched passages that I otherwise could play. Technical mastery was difficult because I played with so much tension.

But my wife put The Inner Game of Music into my hands. After barely even 20 pages, I had shown marked progress. Having completed the book, I can testify to its usefulness and indeed, necessity. Dr Green will walk you through the problems everyone faces, and how to overcome them. Once overcome, there is no longer a mental block that prevents us from attainting to our personal best. (Further, his practice tips are unparalleled.) Now, I no longer have the problems I used to. This is not to say I changed overnight; artistry is a path, and not a destination. But there is a night and day difference between my playing *just a few months ago* and now. I'm even planning on getting my doctorate; a goal I used to feel was a pipe dream.

If you are a musician who struggles to attain technical mastery, or who suffers from performance anxiety, or a host of other ailments that hold you back from being a true artist, this book WILL help you.

Buy it. Now.

4 out of 5 stars Inner Game review.......2007-02-22

Similar concepts of Gallaways other books ( I have read them all) with a good musical propective. I recommend it to musicians especially if they perform.

5 out of 5 stars Probably the best Inner Game book.......2007-01-10

I've read 'The Inner Game of Tennis' which was great. Years later I read 'The Inner game of work' which I found a little harder to bring into practice. The great thing about this book is that Barry Green, a musician himself, rewrites the whole Inner Game from his standpoint as a musician. This makes it really 1 + 1 = 3.
It's full of exersizes, very practical.

4 out of 5 stars inner game has more rules than stated in book!.......2006-05-27

this book has left out a lot of variables within the game of the music industry! if you want more information chekc out the works of ty cohen and his book "The New Music Industry: How to Use the Power of the Internet to Multiply Your Industry Exposure, Fan Base and Income Potential Online!" this ones a killer!

2 out of 5 stars Reads like a book report.......2006-02-07

I've read this book twice now, and while I've gotten useful tips out of it, it really does read like a book report of the Inner Game of Tennis, frequently using phrases like 'Gallwey refers to...' and 'Gallwey says'. So I read the Inner Game of Tennis and found that I could have garnered much the same insights from this book without the added and sometimes confusing editorializing by Mr. Green. (And some of Green's additions just complicate things by giving your 'self 1' additional ammunition that it may not have thought of yet.)
All in all a useful book, but to do it over again, I'd skip it and go straight to the Inner Game of Tennis.

Perfect condition; new book; great packaging and arrived on time. This book cost less than paying my school's book store for it and it was deliever-free!

5 out of 5 stars This is THE Book for aspiring play therapists!.......2005-07-19

I was required to read the book for a class I was completing on Play therapy. It was a very easy read, well organized with a good mixture of research and anecdotal information. What makes the book a truly outstanding resource is Dr. Landreth's very candid insight into the practice of play therapy as well as his willingness to share with the reader his very sincere love and respect for children.

4 out of 5 stars Clear, concise, engaging introduction to play therapy.......1997-06-24

This book is a necessary addition to any therapists library, especially those who are just beginning or are interested in knowing the foundations for therapy with children. Clearly written and well organized, it is easy to read and an invaluable reference. Highly recommended for beginning play therapists

5 out of 5 stars Practical Art Therapy.......2006-03-16

Usually these types of books are theoritical (for example why art therapy works) while this one is practical with many activities to work with.

5 out of 5 stars easily understandible.......2006-03-12

Having found myself a little out of depth as regards people needing release from pain and stress, I have found the practicality of this book invaluable. It has opened my eyes to understand a lot more of the history of art therapy, and the exercises are helpful. I found the pictures included also enable one to grasp some of the concepts within the text and the layout of the book makes it exciting reading.

4 out of 5 stars The Art Therapy Sourcebook.......2005-07-25

This book is very useful for the beginner of art therapy.

5 out of 5 stars art therapy.......2005-07-07

I just got done with my first year at college and I got interested in art therapy. I wasn't to sure what exactly it was, and I was recommended this book from my school counselor. It was very informative, and it helped me decide to pursue my study in art therapy.

5 out of 5 stars most innovative and readable art therapy book in print.......2002-04-18

After reading a lot of *same old, same old* art therapy books, I was absolutely thrilled to discover THE ART THERAPY SOURCEBOOK. There are so many art therapy books that are dense and poorly written; Malchiodi is a clear and articulate writer who provides a savvy overview of the field of art therapy in a style that is inviting and exciting. Even if you have never heard of art therapy before, this book will inspire you to want to try your hand at art and will encourage your creative process. As a teacher of art therapy, I require all my first year art therapy and counseling students to read this book and as a therapist, I encourage my clients to read it too. Bravo! I look forward to more books by this author!

Book Description

National icon Willie Nelson has evolved over the years from country music outlaw swimming against a Whiskey River to a Zen-like figure of wisdom and contentment. In this autobiographical collection of life advice, The Tao of Willie, one of America's truest hearts reveals the spiritual and practical lessons learned from decades of hard knocks and good bounces.

This inspiring and entertaining collection of "Willie wisdom" takes us from his days as a young boy in Texas where he learns to respect his elders, to his roadhouse days when he united redneck rockers, long-haired hippies and straight-laced country music fans, to the mega-sized benefit concerts and environmentalism that define his boundless heart. And there are plenty of his favorite jokes along the way.

With stories that will both make you laugh out loud and look deep inside yourself, he shows us how the Willie way — and the way of the Tao — can also be your way. Let Willie's common sense approach to life awaken you to the happiness that already exists in your own heart. With Willie as your guide, join the river of life and you'll be carried on an amazing journey.

5 out of 5 stars Backstage with Willie.......2007-09-11

I deployed to Afghanistan in May 2006. The morning of my departure, I received a phone call from both of the authors of this book. Willie and Turk wished me luck and a safe return on my journey. It was a memory that has been with me ever since. Just this past week, I had the fortune of getting to see Willie Nelson in concert (The Last of Breed Tour) for the first time in my 33 years. It was an amazing show and I also had the pleasure of meeting him backstage as he proceeded to the stage to perform with Merle Haggard and Ray Price. What an experience!
While on deployment I was able to read this book. There is little happiness in Afghanistan these days. But every night prior to lights out, I could always count on a smile and a reflection of my life through the words in this book. It was a pleasure to read.
To Willie and Turk...Thank you!

I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK AND AM AMAZED AT THE WISDOM OF WILLIE. HE HAS CAPTURED GREAT DEPTH IN HIS INTERPRETATION OF THE TAO AND OFFERS IT IN SUCH A WILLIE-READABLE MANNER. THIS BOOK IS A TRUE JOY. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE.

4 out of 5 stars Delightful.......2007-01-06

I am a university professor and read many books, but I have not enjoyed a book this much for quite some time. It is a laugh out loud, down to earth book that brings one back to reality while having fun doing it. I put this book on my "read once a year" shelf, and sent copies to others. A quick read, and well worth it! Thanks for the good time, Willie.

Book Description

This book is about the inner sources of spontaneous creation. It is about where art in the widest sense comes from. It is about why we create and what we learn when we do. It is about the flow of unhindered creative energy: the joy of making art in all its varied forms.

Free Play is directed toward people in any field who want to contact, honor, and strengthen their own creative powers. It integrates material from a wide variety of sources among the arts, sciences, and spiritual traditions of humanity. Filled with unusual quotes, amusing and illuminating anecdotes, and original metaphors, it reveals how inspiration arises within us, how that inspiration may be blocked, derailed or obscured by certain unavoidable facts of life, and how finally it can be liberated - how we can be liberated - to speak or sing, write or paint, dance or play, with our own authentic voice.

The whole enterprise of improvisation in life and art, of recovering free play and awakening creativity, is about being true to ourselves and our visions. It brings us into direct, active contact with boundless creative energies that we may not even know we had.

5 out of 5 stars Creative Encouragement.......2007-06-29

Nachmanovitch writes from the perspective of a professional musician, yet makes it easily possible to transfer his ideas to any realm. Nachmanovitch's ideas are consistent with the thinkers today who believe we are in the Creativity Age, and that all people are creative.

The story of the flute player is skillfully woven throughout the book, and its meaning is clear and timeless.

5 out of 5 stars Improvisation Revealed.......2007-01-11

This book basically tells you to get out of your own way and let your creativity flow! The author has a lot of information in it and I needed a couple of reads to get most of it. I thought it was wonderful, very well written, and the results can be very effective in life. My piano playing has gotten much more free and fun. I rarely play a song the same way twice - just let things flow. If you are into anything creative, I don't think you will be disappointed with this book.

5 out of 5 stars Free Play - Improvisation in Life and Art.......2007-01-05

I LOVE this book and keep it handy because it constantly leads me to my core and helps keep me real.

4 out of 5 stars Play Freely.......2006-08-31

Great book to read if you have lost your spirit to play freely. The entire book can be summarized by the fable presented at the beginning of this book.
I often read the the fable to myself to be reminded of the free play spirit.

5 out of 5 stars Divine Play.......2006-06-19

I have been buying books at Amazon for years, and this is the first review I ever felt compelled to write. Simply put, this is the book I buy and give to family and friends. The knowledge contained in this book is potent and reflect the juicy nuggets of a lucious truth that can be known and experienced in this life. Why just connect with the font of life when you can merge fully into it. I highly recommend this book.

4 out of 5 stars Practical divorce advice.......2007-04-17

Seven Secrets to a Successful Divorce

5 out of 5 stars Important book, along with..........2006-01-04

Divorce is one of the most grueling experiences anyone can go through, and this book is a great guide for easing the challenges. The book is packed with information on the legal and emotional issues that are likely to arise -- and how to deal with them. The topics span the board, from making the initial decision, to preparing for trial, to how to talk with the kids about it all.

THe authors have a section on negotiating with your spouse, and I think that that is essential. They mention the work of Harvard's Roger Fisher, who just published a new book that you don't want to miss if you're dealing with divorce. The book is 'Beyond Reason: Using Emotions as you Negotiate.' (The chapters on autonomy and appreciation struck a chord with me and offered great advice.)

3 out of 5 stars Very Informative, but deceptively biased.......2005-07-03

After reading many, many studies on the subject of divorce, support and custody, and also personally being a single father for 13 years with sole custody of 3 children and also being a non-custodial parent of one younger child I feel I can comment objectively on this book.

First off, it is clearly very well written, covers almost all aspects of its subject and uniquely combines views from an emotional point of view as well as legal point of view. It also strives to be unbiased and provide clear representation of both parents. I do recommend this book but do so with one caveat (hence my rating of 3 stars rather than 5).

The book is riddled with hidden biases in favor of Mom rather than Dad and the reader should be cognizant of that. Also, it is not clear that all aspects of studies are clearly represented. i.e., both sides. The tricky thing is that both sides are mentioned but even when there is a preponderance of studies favoring one side, it seems the authors may lean towards the other side. A fairer presentation of studies supporting both sides would be really beneficial (particularly on child custody, visitation, overnights, bonding, etc.). Many of the studies are represented in summary form and as such remove a lot of important context.

A good example of a hidden bias:

"The Paradox requires that parents take into careful consideration how well their children are able to tolerate separation from their mother, the child's temperament, and the strength of the father-child bond prior to divorce, and weigh all this against the likelihood of the father staying in the child's life...." Page 203 - determining custody arrangements.

This seems like a very objective statement but upon closer examination it is clear that the authors are concerned with whether the child(ren) can tolerate separation from mom but never question whether or not the child(ren) can handle the separation from dad or what that impact might be. In addition, it questions the father-child bond but never suggestions that the mother-child bond should be evaluated as well in such a determination. The phrase ends with us weighing all of this against whether or not it is likely that dad will stay in the picture - again, what about mom. Studies are increasingly showing that even when mom has full custody of her children she can be less than a model parent for a variety of reasons.

Here's another:

"The amount of time between father and child is important because it facilitates a closer parent child relationship. But time does not automatically equal closeness. The quality of time spent and the level of involvement .... are ... more important." Also Page 203 - determining custody arrangements.

Again - sounds objective enough but actually why is this represented only in terms of dad. Isn't this statement true for moms as well? Phrased as written there is an assumption that mother time does equal closeness and that it is automatically quality otherwise why point this out only for fathers during a discussion on custody which should be gender neutral. If the term was written with parent in place of father then it would be truly objective. As written it supports the notion that moms are custodial parents and dads are visitors - and not to worry about the amount of time dads spend - but worry about the quality of time they spend. So to be fair, don't worry about the time mom spends with the children, just the quality of time she spends - thereby freeing up large amounts of time for dad and children.

These are only 2 examples but please read this book with caution, such biases are sprinkled all through out the book (perhaps because the authors are both moms) and amongst a backdrop of authority, general objectivity and mastery of the subject matter which makes them all the more dangerous.

4 out of 5 stars Extensive Information.......2005-04-23

This book is filled with extensive information. With over 60% of the population getting divorced, this subject should no longer be taboo.
Barbara Donahue, Author of "The Anti-Rules, Now That
You've Got Him, How Do You Get Rid Of Him"

5 out of 5 stars The DEFINITIVE Divorce Guidebook.......2005-04-04

"Your Marriage Advisor: A Lawyer and Psychologist Guide You Through the Emotional Landscape of Divorce" by Diane Mercer and Marsha Klein Pruitt is arguably the most respectable and comprehensive guidebook on Divorce out there in the market place. The co-authored divorce guide, written by a divorce mediator and a research scientist in child study, takes you on an informative and rational ride through the entire divorce process, both the legal and psychological aspects of it. Imbued with positive energy, the authors breathed a much needed breeze of fresh air in an area where bickering and revenge is rife, highlighting that "the best strategy is to take care of yourself and your family, especially your children...this is truly your mantra".

Complete with case studies and extensive discussion from the A-Z of all that you need to know on the divorce procedure/psyche, the book is well-balanced where the authors weighed the pros and cons of oft-repeated tactics, not least stressing ad nauseam that retaliation and lying to get your way as non-viable options. It is one of those rare self-help books where the humanity and sterling character of the authors shined through as readers are constantly reminded how divorce is a no-win scenario to all and how one should best move on from the unpalatable situation in one piece. This book is a gem amidst the universe of divorce guides advocating revenge, male/female bashing and dirty tricks. Equipped with knowledge from this book, readers could save their sanity and their children's, not least money on oftentimes deficient advice from attorneys who have their own agendas to meet. This book is good place to start when confronted by the "D" word and is placed right on top of the priority must-read list if you have just time for one.
