Book Description

All steamed up and nothing to read? Best Women’s Erotica 2007 opens a Pandora’s box of pleasures, with scorching encounters, dreamy partners, and heart-pounding thrills that won’t put a run in your fishnets (and a few that will). In Teresa Noelle Roberts’s “Voice of an Angel,” an opera costumer helplessly infatuated with a countertenor — a man who sings a female part in baroque opera —makes interesting discoveries as she measures his inseam. In Susie Hara’s “Puffy Lips,” a refined woman indulges her primitive urge to take what she wants from a modern-day caveman in a dark alley. Kathleen Bradean’s “Chill” describes the lengths to which the heroine will go to enact her unusual, icy fetish at an exclusive “spa.” “Kink was the candy coating that made sex tastier,” she explains. “Fetish was sweet dark chocolate, straight up.” Stylishly edited by sex guru Violet Blue, the Best Women’s Erotica series showcases the most daring, best-written erotica available. And, like a gorgeous lover, it complements any bedroom decor.

2 out of 5 stars Not very good .. or erotic.......2007-08-24

I was very disappointed with this, I thought the stories while reasonably well written weren't at all erotic. They have very little buildup or character development and focused on a wide variety of unusual or fetish topics rather than just good writing. The good stuff at Literotica.com is much better than this.

1 out of 5 stars Full of weird fetishes.......2007-08-23

I bought this book for some fun and 'stimulating' reading before bed and can't even finish the book it's so bad. I've read about 3 or 4 stories and they are all freaky weird fetishes that do nothing for me but gross me out and make me feel weird in a bad way. The stories are also very short so by the time I may have been getting interested the story was ending.

Interesting read if you are looking for weird sex fetishes but not so great for what I wanted.

5 out of 5 stars Women's Erotica.......2007-06-06

I bought this for my wife, she loves the book. Most of the stories are very steamy, this is to my benefit. Enjoy, she does and so do I...

4 out of 5 stars Stylish Erotica.......2007-04-07

I must admit I do like this kind of book. The short erotic stories from different angles (if you pardon the pun)are much easier to digest than long winded novels. Some of the stories are a relavation and all are enjoyable. I can heartily recomend it. Another book I can recommend is Suzie Van Aartman's 100 Percent Erotica, a very sexy and explicit collection of short stories.

2 out of 5 stars Definitely Not Literary.......2007-04-04

Okay if you just want sex, but for good writing look elsewhere.

Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

3 out of 5 stars Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

5 out of 5 stars Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT BOOK. STIMULATING READING.MY WIFE AND I FOUND THIS BOOK EASY TO READ AND SEXUALLY STIMULATING. WE HIGHLY RECOMENDTHIS BOOK AND THIS AUTHOR.

5 out of 5 stars Hot!.......2007-07-23

Extremely erotic. I was pleasantly surprised by how explicitly the scenes were written. Has been fodder for many a fantasy for my husband and me.

5 out of 5 stars very good.......2006-05-03

this is a very good book. my wife loved it. just like the title says taboo stuff in every story. to the people that gave it negitive reviews what did you expect from something that said taboo clearly on the front cover. pretty long book to. more stories than we expected.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth it.......2006-01-09

I bought this book because of all of the good reviews. I was NOT impressed. First of all, the writing is mediocre at best. The stories offer little in the way of meaningful character development and delve right into poorly worded sex scenes. The first three stories I read were about anal sex, watching your wife give another man oral sex and humiliating your husband by tying him up and ball-gagging him then penetrating him with a strap on. To be honest these stories turned me OFF and I'll be returning the book. Save your money this is not good.

Book Description

The sales of books about sexual fantasy aimed at heterosexual couples prove how determined readers are to hold onto that erotic spark. But most of these books underestimate the literary refinement of their readers. Good Vibrations sex educator Violet Blue corrects that trend, showcasing imaginative, sophisticated stories to arouse and renew readers’ sexual explorations. Sweet Life collects 25 erotic tales guaranteed to inspire newlyweds and long-term partners alike.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Sweet? Try Cloying..........2007-01-23

'Sweet Life: Erotic Fantasies for Couples' and I have essentially broken up by now. We've tried making it work for some months now, but the sexual chemistry just isn't there. It boils down to irreconcilable differences: I want something that is well-written and original; Sweet Life strives for as many cheap thrills as you can get with third-grade diction and vocabulary.

We gave it an earnest attempt at first: the wife and I got comfortable together and I read aloud the first five stories or so to her. Interest waned as it became apparent that certain phrases would be repeated throughout each tale. Phrases such as 'already erect', 'thrusting repeatedly', 'cries of pleasure' became commonplace, predictable. Every paragraph featured at least one superlative adjective.

Maybe if we'd built a drinking game around our reading-time ('Wet and slippery', take a drink!; 'So darn hard', take two drinks!), we could've made it work. But the inspiration wasn't there, so the inspiration wasn't there.

Besides droll repetition of stock erotica vocabulary, Sweet Life lacked the sophistication that I've come to desire in my fiction. I can't boast a collegiate background in literature, but I do appreciate it when my books can adroitly turn a phrase. I can count on Chuck Palahniuk's novels to titillate. Terry Pratchett does things with his sentences I didn't know were possible. And Stephen King, while getting on in years, still can work his prose into a frenzy, with a long-enough running start.

But Sweet Life's stories (with one exception, a doozy by Hanne Blank that has almost no sex in it) are, without fail, contrived, formulaic and cliché. Some examples:

'Although my internet-whiz husband spent his days in front of a computer screen, he kept in shape by by swimming laps at lunchtime at the health club next door to where he worked.'

'Negotiation has always been the hallmark of our relationship.'

'...it had literally been years...'

At 'literally', I nearly slammed the cover on Sweet Life, thinking, "There's just no excuse for this abuse of language in our relationship." But I kept my calm and just laughed it off, and let the distance grow naturally.

One day soon, I'll nonchalantly move the book to the cardboard box in the closet and the next thing it'll know, someone will be shelving it for purchase at the local thrift shop. And then I'll have completely moved on.

5 out of 5 stars Sweet.......2007-01-07

I rate this book tops in its category and handy for all couples young and old for bedtime............

5 out of 5 stars hot.......2005-08-01

My wife and I were never erotica readers before, and we really like this book. The stories are a good way to heat things up.

3 out of 5 stars We are VERY open minded, BUT.............2005-06-06

This book just did not do it for us. We purchased this book (and Sweet Life: Erotic Fantasies for Couples 2) based on the reviews from other couples and women. We were sorely disappointed. But maybe our type of fantasies are different from others. Male-Male Bisexuality and enemas do not fit our view point of erotic fantasies.

However, based on the writing style, the stories are well written. We gave this 3 stars because the fantasies are just not our type, but the writing style is VERY well done.
Just not for us.

5 out of 5 stars The Marvelous Miss Blue .......2005-02-10

Violet Blue has gathered together an unparalleled collection of erotica with a unique purpose: to turn on couples. And it works! The stories in this beautiful book are sexy without being vulgar and they let couples know that it's okay to have dirty thoughts. It's okay to give in to erotic fantasies. These stories push the boundaries without ever being too far out. This collection is the type of book you could leave out in your living room without feeling embarrassed. The cover is striking and sexy, and the mood within the pieces are equally so. A very delicious selection from a mistress of the genre.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Repertoire, Waiting to Be Learned.......2001-11-20

This book contains, in tablature and standard notation, songs by a number of great Delta bluesmen -- Charley Patton, Son House, Robert Johnson, Willie Brown, Skip James and others. Grossman does not in every case write out the notation for the entire song; a song might be represented by its intro, first verse and closing guitar lick, or maybe just by an extended break. In each case, Grossman gives you enough information that you can sit down with the recording and learn to play these classic songs.

Interview snippets, history and photographs add great color and texture to an extremely useful work.

5 out of 5 stars Delta Blues.......2000-10-08

Just a beauty of a book. A sampling of classic delta bluesmen with their songs and tablature. Many are quoted, shedding light on personalities and the time and place in which they lived. A great book to purchase if you want to explore the genre.

In Kellie Gillespie’s “Another Assignation with Charles Bonnet,” a blind woman experiences “love at first smell” on a London street corner — cinnamon, sweat, leather, and tobacco — and determines to find again the man who carries this scent. Sydney Beier’s “Reading to Horst” is a paean to possibility: an American woman living in Germany has a languorous encounter with a tourist who asks her to read aloud to him at a café from the copy of Anaïs Nin’s Little Birds in her hands. And Elizabeth Coldwell’s “Heat” describes the fierce affair between a barmaid and her brutish temporary boss, a man she doesn’t even like but who sets her heart pounding.

Best Women's Erotica 2006 is enjoyable - it has a nice variety of scenarios and nothing too freaky.

5 out of 5 stars A quality product.......2006-08-07

The writing is excellent. This is not a substandard book intended strictly to make a lot of money off people looking for cheap thrills while shopping at the grocery store. The variety of stories is also good.

5 out of 5 stars If you missed the early ones, get this book!.......2002-12-29

"Baby Blues : This is Going to be Harder Than We Thought" is the first book of the series and a must for "Baby Blues" fans. You can really see how much this comic strip has evolved, but yet, some things will never change. With great expressions and witty lines, it will have you smirking in no time. I recommend.

5 out of 5 stars A must have book for all parents and kids!!.......2001-09-02

I got this book about 3 months ago, and I loved it! It shows you that parenting isn't the most easiest thing in the world. This book has lots of laughs and good times in it. So if you want lots of laughs (100 percent guranteed) then get this wonderful book!

5 out of 5 stars True to Life!.......2001-06-22

I have been a fan of Baby Blues since my daughter was born, eight years ago. I sometimes think that Mr. Kirkman and Mr. Scott hide outside my windows and take notes, because so many of their strips are right on the mark! If you have small children, are thinking about having small children, or just want a good belly laugh, I highly recommend the entire series of Baby Blues collections. Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars The best gift for new parents you'll find..........2000-11-17

We received this as a gift from friends when we had our first child, and could not stop laughing as we gained a new appreciation for what it meant to be parents. Whether you're new parents, know someone who is, or have been parents for years and want to remember what it was *really* like, this book needs to be on your list.

We've now given this book as a gift to four other couples who've had babies recently, and all agree that it's their favorite new book on the shelf. It covers everything - changing the first diaper, the first visits from the parents (both sets), sleepless nights, and the joy of teething, to mention a few.

Buy this book. You'll laugh for a long time, and will probably end up sharing it with your other friends fortunate enough to have kids of their own.

5 out of 5 stars A comic strip that tells like it is about raising kiddies!.......2000-04-25

At first, I didn't really like the comic strip all about babies and parenting, which simply isn't my cup of tea. But - over the time, I began to truly appreciate what a vaulable contribution it could be to our society: a pretty stern disclaimer to the usual maternal fantasy that every young girl holds dear to her heart when she is old enough to get married and produce children. The not-so-nice part of having babies like labor pains, breastfeeding, dirty diapers, vomiting, screaming temper tantrums, shot nerves, etc. are all so candidly depicted here on the very pages of our funnies. In fact, it seems to me that if it wasn't for the kinship ties and the anxious need to support the future species, Darryl and Wanda would've probably been very happy to simply drop off Zoe and Hammie at a nearby orphanage.

5 out of 5 stars Unique and Original Stories.......2007-10-02

The stories are sexy, adventurous, honest and seriously hot - just like the down to earth men who inspired this collection. Edited by Bob Condron, his introduction sets the tone for this anthology and teases the reader with what is yet to come. There are absolutely no romantic dinners or quiet walks on the beach to be found here, but a few stories do explore a tender and sensual side of these tough guys. Just sweat and muscle and heart pounding stories of men who are bigger than life. I may not be the target audience as a straight female, but I can honestly and whole heartily recommend this to anyone who has appreciation for the blue-collar man.

There are 25 unique and original stories, all interconnected with a common theme. There's the amusing story of a man and his awkward late night encounter with a local mechanic, a tourist visiting American who has an adventure with the American wildlife in the form of two hairy bears and a delightful tale of the soda man (my personal infatuation) who delivers a young man's first-time.

My favorite is from author Peter Eros, a gentle and poignant coming of age story of a young man who learns about living and loving from his blue-collar neighbor. The story is so beautifully written and intense with emotion; the author's parting words painfully sincere. This one alone is worth the price of the book.

Contributing authors are Bob Alexson, Johnny Bricklin, Derek Broadie, Bob Condron, Landon Dixon, Zack Dorsey, Hank Edwards, Bo Erickson, Peter Eros, Jay Fordee (2 stories), Darren Gahn (2 stories), William Holden, Ray Jansen, Tom Lever, Charles Long, Steve Michaels, Piers O'Brian, Christopher Pierce, Mark Rutland, Andrew Semaj, Simon Sheppard and Rob Tiernan (2 stories).

5 out of 5 stars Terrific Book.......2007-10-02

I absolutely recommend this book. The stories inside are wonderful and you will find yourself revisiting them so you can enjoy the characters again.

5 out of 5 stars 4.5 Blue Ribbons for WITH LOVE by J. L. Langley.......2007-08-20

Devlin Johns is supposed to be meeting with Victor, the alpha of the wolf pack that resides in Asheville. However, when he arrives at the meeting site, he sees an omega being assaulted. While omega wolves are the lowest wolves of a pack, Devlin knows that they are still invaluable to the smooth running of a pack and deserving of protection. Getting in the middle of the ruckus, Dev stops the assault, which only re-directs the alpha's hatred toward him. Feeling a tingling along his spine, Devlin is both astonished and ecstatic that this unconscious omega might be his mate. It isn't until the omega wakes up that Devlin will know for sure.

Laine Campbell smells something wonderful as he slowly reaches consciousness. Unsure of where he is, he opens his eyes and is instantly delighted and amazed at what he sees. He has a mate of his very own and this mate is hot! Not only is he hot, but he seems to feel the same way as Laine. Not quite understanding how to proceed, Laine happily lets Devlin take over and enjoys every aspect of their lovemaking.

Laine and Devlin set out to slowly explore their relationship. Devlin has no plans to let Laine go, no matter that the alpha of Asheville is a jerk and a bully. Devlin plans to show Victor how an alpha is supposed to act and he is going to enjoy every minute of it!

Once again J. L. Langley has woven a tremendous story of love and acceptance. In WITH LOVE, Laine is endearingly accident-prone and constantly making mistakes. I found it humbling to see Devlin take him as he was, and love him in spite of his quirks. Laine charmed me with his first smile of delight at finding Devlin by his side. Their loyalty to each other was just the icing on the cake!

WITH LOVE is one of three novellas in the anthology, A Heart From The Ashes, coming to Samhain in January 2007. I just can't get enough of J. L. Langley!

3 out of 5 stars Really good, but..........2007-07-12

What is with all the gay fiction being written by women? The sex scenes are sort of hot but clearly written by someone who has no idea about the physiology of male sex organs and gay sex. Sorry, I'm gay, love sex but I cannot have sex 6 times a day, physically impossible and what kind of life would you have outside of sex? Some of the things we do hurt or are acquired tastes. Sort of offputting.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Anthology.......2007-05-20

I can't say enough wonderful things about this anthology. Ally Blue, JL Langley and Willa Okati never fail to please. "Eros Rising" and "With Love" are gorgeous, both JL and Ally shining as always with hot sex, humor and real people.

My favorite is "Cafe Noctem". Willa uses paranormal elements sooo well and this story is beautiful, about healing and finding love and moving forward with your life in the knowledge that you can still be happy. The Cherokee mythology adds an unusual but really appealing twist -- and ooh, what a cool surprise ending!

Definitely a must-buy.

4 out of 5 stars Love from Heartache.......2007-03-19

This collection of love stories surprise and entrall. Each story is unique to its relationship but connected by the promise of lasting love. The stories start out of painful beginnings-the end of love in the first, a lost love in the second, and danger in the last-but they all end with a total committment to love.

I don't have a favorite story, because no one story knocked it out of the park (like Brokeback Mountain in the anthology "Close Range"). But this book did contain the spark of realism, with the multiple stories in one town. Most fictional books leave you in the realm of fiction when it's over.

Book Description

From Cecila Tan and Lori Perkins, two of the best connected women in erotica today, comes what could become Blue Moon's most successful title in recent seasons. Here, for the first time ever, is an anthology of short erotic stories centered on the theme of MILFs. MILF, if you haven't seen the movie American Pie, stands for "mother I'd love to f***). More specifically, these are stories of horny young men and the voluptuous older women they crave. For legal reasons, the characters in the stories are all over 18 years of age, but there is plenty of "Mrs. Robinson" spark. (Think about a hottie like Ashton Kutcher getting it on with sexy mom Demi Moore and you are going in the right direction.) Inexperience meets experience—does the wiser, savvier older woman tame the young buck, or set him free in a whole new way? Or does he teach her some new tricks?

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good, But Not Quite as MILFy as I'd Hoped.......2007-09-29

Call me shallow or easily manipulated, but the cover of this book hooked me like a bass on a popping frog. The subject is a longtime personal favorite (thanks, ME), but that photo had me clicking to buy before I'd even read the abstracts and editorial reviews. That being said, it's a mystery what this photo is really about, and why it affects me so. The nails, lipstick and eye makeup don't match, but somehow they all work together, inexplicably trashy and classy at the same time. There's a maybe-faux, maybe real knot of diamonds on the right hand, but the left is an unseen mystery; I like that touch. There's the clear hint of age in her lips, eyes and neck, but she could be thirty or fifty. And the tight pearls across the open mouth and subtly uneven bottom teeth, the eyes clinched in rapture or pain or maybe even regret. Maybe it's ecstasy, maybe she's checking to see if they're real. I guess it's this range of possibilities which has got me.

Okay, enough obsession with the MILF on the cover. Overall, it's a good read, easy and quick. Of course, the stories move very quickly, with character development at an, ahem, bare minimum. We have to know the relative MILFy angle on each protagonette, of course, married, divorced, widowed or engaged, and that is provided quickly enough. And character motivation: I mean, really, as if a book like this has to have any character motivation whatsoever.

The overall content disappointed me a bit. When I think "MILF," my mental picture is the repressed 30- or 40-something, the cougar on the cover, just back from the morning tennis lesson at the club, who's got a couple of wicked hours to kill with the FedEx guy before the crew arrives to clean the Persian rugs and before she's got to go out for two hours of volunteer time at the assisted living facility. But the MILFs in this collection get a broader interpretation. A number of them are recent or not-so-recent divorcees, DILFs, I guess. Yeah, the authors check the block with a passing mention of a kid at college, and that checks the block. They're moms, then, so it's okay to move the story on down its road.

The fantasy, of course, is that the MILF/DILF is the one more or less in charge, and I guess that is the allure. That's the expected equation, and for the most part in these stories, it works. I did like "CATRR" in particular, because it took this premise and worked it very cleverly with a couple of good, ahem, twists, and some welcome deviation from the narrative coital norm. In the rest of the stories there's a bit of lesbian sex, a bit of power play, a bit of multiple partner, just enough to cover the bases, but disappointingly nothing really off the wall or unexpected.

Bottom line: This is a fun, distractive read which certainly delivers on its promise of MILFy smut. You can blow through these 21 stories in an evening if you'd like, or you can savor them before bed each night for three weeks. Let your partner put on a string of nice pearls and decide on your schedule.
