Awesomw music for even the youngest child........2007-08-29
I do daily Devotions with my 3 young children and they love the music and I love what it helps me teach them.
Love It.......2007-05-12
I grew up with the Wee Sing products and, when I found out I was pregnant, I bought this CD for my own son. I find it very useful because I find it hard to remember a lot of the songs that I sang when I was growing up. This is a good reminder. Also, when my son gets a little older, I know that he'll enjoy singing along with it as well. I intend to purchase many more Wee Sing products in the future.
Kids' music.......2007-05-12
Some of the best music "out there" for Christians; conservative but kid friendly
Fanstastic CD!.......2007-02-09
Wee Sing Bible Songs became a favorite in our home, car, and Children's Church program. The songs are easy to sing and many have motions described in the song book that the kids love. I ordered multiple copies for our programs after purchasing one for my own children.
Listened as a child.........2007-02-01
I learned all the books of the bible as a little girl by listening to this. I love the songs and now I've bought it for my daughters.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
Book Description
Redesigned. Reformatted. Remastered. Resequenced. Ready for Re-release. And it was already great to begin with!
Before there was Philadelphia Chickens, the #1 New York Times and Publishers Weekly children's bestseller with 319,000 copies in print, there was Rhinoceros Tap, the collection of seriously silly songs. Now Rhinoceros Tap returns in an all-new package to mirror Philadephia Chickens, with a spiffy audio CD. Written and illustrated by Sandra Boynton and with music by Boynton and Michael Ford, the same team that created Philadelphia Chickens, it's a read-along, sing-along, dance-along, oink-along collection of truly delightful children's music. There's "O, Lonely Peas," to appeal to the finicky young eater. The five-year-old's lament, "Bad Babies" ("They whine and they bite, they chew on your toys/And oh, do they make the most terrible noise"). "Tickle Time." "The Crabby Song." A mouse's impassioned ballad to his beloved, "I Love You More Than Cheese." And "Barnyard Dance," the song that was launched by the board book dear to the hearts of more than a million young readers.
Customer Reviews:
Good but..........2007-07-25
This Boynton compilation is good but not as good as Philadelphia Chickens. My 5-year-old son has asked for this one repeatedly and we all know who should be the true reviewer here. It is, however, better than Dog Train which we have only listened to once.
Rhinoceros Tap.......2007-01-18
Great fun! Cute songs for the whole family. Kids like them because they're silly. Adults have fun with them, too, but the music is "real music", not kiddy stuff. Our two girls and their friends have fun making up dances to go with the songs - creative play at its finest!!
disappointed with this one.......2007-01-06
We bought this CD for our 7-year-old son (he already has "Philadelphia Chickens" and "Dog Train" by the same artist), but "Rhinoceros Tap" just doesn't have the charisma as the other ones by Sandra Boynton. The tunes just aren't catchy. Some of them remind me of old jazz/blues music, which I enjoy and appreciate, but the melodies are more on the somber side and it's hard to work in words that are suitable for children. As a result, my son loses interest after about the third or fourth number. The other CDs by Boynton are wonderful and we've just about worn them out, but somehow "Rhinoceros Tap" doesn't quite make the cut.
Fun for adults, too!.......2006-06-03
We received this CD for a gift a year ago and my kids(4 1/2 and 13mo) and I still BOTH enjoy hearing it! Fun, catchy tunes, with a bit of humor for adults, and silliness for kids.
Wholesome family entertainment we can ALL sing along to!.......2006-03-09
Despite some unevenness , this album and its accompanying book are a drive-time hit in our household - amazing considering my kids are 10 and 11 - oh, and a baby, who probably doesn't get all the subtleties, but enjoys the music nonetheless.
Our favourites include:
~Bad Babies
~The Crabby Song
~Tropical Sand
~O, Lonely Peas... which my daughter and I enjoy belting out together!
Others are not as popular, and we sometimes find ourselves fast forwarding through them... such as:
~Rhinoceros tap (particularly the instrumental version)
~Dinosaur round
We are mixed on songs like Bad Babies and Turkey Love Song - I like them, but the kids don't quite "get" the jazzy vocals, I think.
Our "greatest hit" from this album has got to be So Long Doggies, which is just the cleverest, funniest, well-sung thing I have heard for children in all my years of being a parent. Little kids won't catch all the references, but my big kids LOVE them! ("BONE voyage...")
Despite these unevennesses, this album makes a great change from all the commercialized kiddie schlock out there.
If you want something you can all sing along to and not have to worry about what kinds of influences your kids are being exposed to, grab this delightfully innocent album and be prepared to sing your heart out!

Customer Reviews:
Good, especially for ASOIAF fans.......2007-09-06
I'd rather give it 4.5 stars, but that's not an option. As a fan of the series, it's definitely worth it just to get a visual of what you're reading. The info and quotes are great for reliving the stories, but there are reasons it didn't get a full 5/5 score.
-I've seen a lot of art online that is far better and relevant than some of the pieces I've seen in this art book.
Examples of this would be how few pictures there are of important characters as opposed to pictures of characters who are close to irrelevent to any of the plot points. A specific example of this is the giant picture, though magnificent, of Rosaline Frey. If you've read the books you probably know why I scratch my head at that pic.
-Some of the art is suspect. I know GRRM had to approve much of the art if not all of it, but some of the pieces I feel he must not have really looked at. A pic of Brienne looks like a ten year old drew it (no offense to the artist).
-A couple of the pics purportedly depict sections of the story that I don't recognize. One is a pic of Dorne while another is a pic of just some random girl laying in a bed with a generic title. In other words, I'm not sure if these pieces of art were intended for GRRM's story or not, or maybe the artists just hadn't read the books.
That said, 90% of the material is great. I've owned it less than a year and I've gone through it a number of times. My cousin, who is also a fan, has to look through it everytime he comes down. It's one of the first things he asks to see when he comes through the door, actually.
I can't wait for a second book of art, to be honest.
Great for the avid fan........2007-06-05
If you are a loyal fan to the Ice and Fire series, than you will enjoy this collection.
A high pecentage of the art was from the Game of Thrones CCG game, so if you have the playing cards, you wont find a whole lot new here. I have seen most of the art online at different fan and artists websites, but to have them all in one format that you can look at anytime is worth the price to me.
It is interesting to see the different ways people picture the characters. Some were spot on to what I imagined and some where not even close to what I picture. Either way, it is great reference material and the artwork is fabulous weather your a fan or not.
For lovers of Sonf of Ice and Fire.......2007-05-14
Very beautiful and well-done pictures based in SoI&F's characters. Also include descriptions and comments.
An item so necessary for G.R.R.Martin fans
A Masterpiece.......2007-04-13
I bought this book after reading the Westeros books of GRRM and I was greatly surprised and enthusiastic about the art depicting characters from the series. Some of the art was breathtaking and just pure brilliance.
If you were needing a visual reference to some of the names, faces, and places of Westeros, this is defnitely a book to pick up.
Only OK........2007-04-04
I fast became a big fan of George RR Martin's epic book series, and once i had gotten through the first few books i sought out this compendium of artwork. There are some decent renderings, such as a painting of Robert Baratheon battling Rheagar Targaryen on the Trident, but overall i found much of the art a little amatuerish - not on the level that you might find in one of the many "art of" book for films. Still if you are a Martin fan, you might want to check it out.

Great piano (guitar/vocal) songbook.......2006-10-31
Although the back cover states "Easy-to-play arrangements for piano, guitar and voice" this is not at all a beginners book.
Some songs are pretty easy, but overall the level is moderate to pretty advanced. There is quite a variety of "genre" as well I think. Some nice mellow almost ballad like songs, some bluesy tunes, some jazz, a little rock.
I will scan the back cover of the book and upload the image ( if I can ) so everyone can see what songs are included.

Hours and Hours of fun for toddlers.......2007-04-07
I bought this when my daughter was around 18 months she just loved following along with the fingerplays. Hours and Hours of entertainment.
my 2 year old's favorite.......2006-10-12
We bought many children's song for my son, and this is his favorite. He loves to buzzz when he hears the bee comes, and claps his hand when he hears "clap you your hand as slowly as you can ...". He didn't talk too much before, but this tape really makes him much more vocal then before. The music is so soothing and he listens to it every day before he goes to bed.
My daughter likes this audio cassette.......2006-07-30
I bought this while my daughter was less than two years old. She still likes to listen this even after she is four now.
Many songs are very popular and also taught in school. It is good for parents like me, who may not know what exactly their kid is singing, to also enjoy these songs with your kids at home. It comes with a book for parents with the instruction on the fingerplays.
I think that this book is well designed. One thing they can improve is to have the book more colorful. Otherwsie, considering its low price, I think that this is a good buy.
We Love Wee Sing.......2006-02-27
My cousin gave me her children's old Wee Sing Bible Songs and I played it for my daughter one day. She really liked it, more than the other children's music I've played for her. I bought several of the Wee Sing collections and my daughter loves them all.
They seem to all be classic children's songs sung in their original format (as another reviewer said, with none of the TV character weird versions) by children.
This one is her very favorite, though, and we have listened to this almost daily since she was one (she's now almost three). There are fingerplays that go with many of the songs. My daughter has learned the words and actions to most of these..... some of them, like the address song, the counting song, and the ABCs have even been educational!
The CD comes with a songbook, too, and my daughter really enjoys hearing me play the songs on the piano for her (they only give the single note treble clef part - but that's enough to make my daughter happy - and it's all I could play anyway).
This whole series is really wonderful and I highly recommend it for young children!
Wee Sing is Pretty Darn Good for Kiddie Music..........2000-11-15
Children's Songs and Fingerplays is my 2 1/2 year old son's favorite, and one I enjoy a lot, too. It is a collection of the classics I had forgotten (in my young mother sleep-deprived state). The songs are in the original version I remember (not Barney-ized!) The collection encourages dance and fingerplays so it is good rainy-day fun. Although the music is not acoustic, the synthesizer is not so obvious and the music is pretty good--not at all grating on the nerves of exhausted parents. The children's voices are what grab the attention--they are really good. My son inadvertantly ruined his cassette so we are trying to replace it with the CD...Amazon, hurry up and replenish your stock!
Book Description
What simpler way could there be to express to children the beauty and the harmony in the world around them than through the lyrics of this song by George David Weiss and Bob Thiele, made famous by the great Louis Armstrong? And what better visual accompaniment than the bright colorful artwork by award-winning Ashley Bryan depicting children of many backgrounds (and Louis Armstrong himself) performing a puppet show that brings the lyrics to life. Here is a book of brightness, wonder, and hope to be shared by all.

Wonderful.......2007-05-22
My baby is 9 months old. A few weeks ago our teacher read this book to us in our mom and baby class and all the babies were mesmorized by it's beautiful pictures, accompanied by the music of Louis Armstrong that was playing in the background. I quickly found it on Amazon and ordred it for my baby. We've read it together several times and he always lights up and squeals excitedly when he sees it. I love how versatile it is because I can read it, talk about the pictures, "sing" it, or play the song and just follow along with him. I am planning to enjoy this book with my son for a long time to come. The only minor issue for us is that the book has regular paper pages (I couldn't find a board book version) so if I let my baby play with it he would instantly destroy it and he sometimes gets frusterated when I hold it in front of him but out of his reach.
Classic! Wonderful!.......2007-04-03
As a K-5 music teacher, I use this book to provide a visual aid as I sing "What a Wonderful World" to the kids. They love it, I love it, and it is a wonderful way to learn song! The pictures are a little on the hokey side and illustrate a puppet show (Satchmo included!), but for K-3, it is age-appropriate and enjoyable.
What a Wonderful World.......2007-03-28
This book, filled with gorgeous illustrations, puts pictures to the song made famous by Louis Armstrong. This book is a wonderful tool to use accompanying the song, and emphasizes the wonderful differences in our world.
WONDERFUL!.......2007-02-17
The pictures and presentation of the words only accentuate the beauty of the song.
It's a Wonderful Book!.......2007-01-11
This beautifully illustrated book is magical when paired with a recording of Louis Armstrong singing "It's a Wonderful World". I'm using the book and recording with my kindergarten and 1st grade music classes as an introduction to the world of jazz. We'll be using it as a take off point to explore jazz and illustrate our own books based on our favorite jazz compositions.

A great overview but not very indepth.......2007-06-08
I did enjoy reading this book; the author has a nice style and covers a good range of information. There were several areas in the book where the author pointed to other books for further information that I was hoping would be included in this book, but it is a short and inexpensive introduction to musical improv. The CD really makes it worth getting. It not only demonstrates some of the concepts but also has plenty of tunes to use for practicing your own improv. Perfect for getting you started on musical improv, just realise that you probably will want to pull from other resources as well.
Get the Hook and Get this Book.......2006-10-17
I found Michael Pollock's Musical Improv Comedy an excellent compilation of technique, theory, and practical exercises explained in a way that is easy to understand for those of us with no previous musical training. Pollock has that rare ability of being able to connect with both the advanced performer and the beginner -both will find his work valuable and relevant- especially with regard to understanding the craft of musical improv and applying the creative skills. The book's format is clear, well-structured, fun and easy to move through. Each chapter includes concrete examples and exercises for practice. The practice CD deserves special recognition, as it makes the learning process even more compelling and truly enjoyable.
Under Michael's clear direction, you'll discover how exciting and stimulating the art of improvising a song can be. Allow yourself to have fun and get ready to sing along.
Practical, inspiring and highly, highly readable........2006-10-06
I really couldn't recommend this book highly enough - Michael Pollock is one of those rare people whose genius at what he does is equalled by his genius at teaching it.
As an Aussie improviser who has always loved musical improv (but only seen its application limited to the odd 'theatre-sports' style game) reading this book marked a real turning point for me. Not only did it open up my mind to the possibilities of musical improv, but it explained the nuts and bolts of how to do it in a clear and simple way. This book has laid the foundations of how to approach musical improvisation, while igniting my passion for it!
The CD is brilliant too, bringing to life the examples in the book and allowing you to put your skills into practice right away.
If you're at all interested in musical improv, don't even question it: just buy it now!

The Easiest and Most Complete Resource I've Found.......2004-07-22
I teach Children's Comedy Theatre in North Hollywood. We have been doing improvised singing for a long time and I've always wanted a nice easy resource to use when teaching people how to create a song on the spot. This book is it. Not only is it VERY simple to follow and an excellent source of information, it also contains a CD that will be a fixture in my teaching for ages to come. If anyone has ever improvised a song, played music, or just wanted to be able to think quicker on their feet, this is the book for you.
A Direct Hit.......2004-06-27
Finally a book that focuses on the MUSICAL aspect of improv comedy. I've seen many performers engage in sketch comedy but very few who understood the musical improv aspect of live comedy - probably because it's far more demanding of the performer's skills and harder to develop technique. That's where Michael Pollock's Musical Improv Comdey fills a vast void in educating the aspiring sketch comic. The book breaks down the process - getting song ideas from the audience, a proper intro, rhyme schemes, rhythms, song structures and styles, song hooks and endings. My favorite part is that the book comes with a cd and exercises that get YOU involved, not just reading about it! This book is entertaining for anyone interested in comedic musical improv and a MUST-HAVE for anyone interested perfroming sketch comedy.

A notation and watch for this on television.......2001-05-12
The correct opening line of "My Romance" should be "My romance doesn't HAVE to have a moon in the sky" instead of "NEED to have a moon in the sky" as I incorrectly stated in my review here.
Also, in "Lady is a Tramp" I used the third person instead of the original first person usage to demonstrate the lyrics. The original "Lady is a Tramp" is written as "I get too hungry for dinner at eight. I like the theater but never come late....etc." I used the third person because it is the more familiar version.
AND AS A TESTAMENT to the timelessness of Rodgers and Hart's songs, listen to the current Ralph Lauren "Romance" perfume commercial. It features James Taylor and Carly Simon singing the opening and closing lines of "My Romance". It's a beautiful, heartfelt song nicely rendered by Taylor and Simon.
An important collection.......2001-05-09
Lorenz Hart is one of the finest lyricists in the history of American musical theater. He is largely responsible for elevating the process of writing lyrics into an art form. Before Hart, lyrics were usually trite and predictable with simplistic rhymes such as "I am blue, and so are you."
Hart wrote lyrics that are cerebral and sophisticated. His compositions are infused with wit and wisdom. He used complex rhymes. An example from "My Funny Valentine": "Your looks are laughable, unphotographable. Yet you're my favorite work of art. Is your figure less than Greek? Is your mouth a little weak? When you open it to speak, are you smart?"
Another example from "Bewitched": "I'm wild again, beguiled again, a whimpering simpering child again...." And yet another example from "Lady is a Tramp": "She gets too hungry for dinner at eight. She likes the theater but never comes late. She never bothers with people she hates. That's why the lady is a tramp."
Hart could be wistful and romantic as in "My Romance": "My romance doesn't need to have a moon in the sky. My romance doesn't need a blue lagoon standing by. No month of May. No twinkling star. No hideaway. No soft guitar."
Hart's lyrics are consistently observant and very often ingenious. They are the perfect match for the variety and intricacy of Richard Rodgers' superb music.
When you read through this collection of Hart's compositions, you will realize why this diminutive, gifted and endearing artist is a true giant of the musical theater.
A valuable document on many levels.......1999-10-10
Very few collections of lyrics are worth reading as literature. First there was W.S. Gilbert, who showed the way that intelligent lyrics need not be anathema to a light-hearted musical; and whose lyrics can stand as independent poems. Afterwards we had P.G. Wodehouse, Cole Porter, Noel Coward, Ira Gershwin--and the best of 'em all, Lorenz Hart.
Not only is what he says witty but how he says it is even wittier. There is no room here to give examples of his incredible rhymes. But turn to the single example of "To Keep My Love Alive" which might be the very last set of lyrics he wrote before a lifetime of alcohol finally took its toll; and then compare it with any Gilbert's "list" songs to see the genius of this artist.
On an other level, any student of psychology will pounce upon the self-lacerating images conjured up in his "love" songs. Because of his own physical problems, we have "My Funny Valentine" in which the love object is "less than Greek" with a chin that's a little weak. And being in love is little more than "broken dates" and "flying plates."
His out and out parodies rival Cole Porter's, as witness "Way Out West on West End Avenue" with its kitchen range and so on. And all this is helped by his "signature" trick of breaking up words in the middle to get rhymes like "Summer journeys to Niagra/ And to other places aggra-/ Vate, all our cares."
On the level of Broadway musical history, the value of this collection speaks for itself, especially with the fine photographs and annotations about every show and then every song within the show. A scholarly masterpiece.
