Book Description

Attain real solutions for current availability challenges. Based on a “DBA-centric” approach to High Availability, Oracle Database 10g High Availability concentrates on explaining Oracle Database 10g technologies and practices to database administrators, covering general availability, real application clusters (RAC), disaster planning and recovery, and distributed database solutions. Hardware and application needs are also taken into account. While Oracle Database 10g is the main focus, many of the options discussed are available in earlier database releases. Organized to provide conceptual understanding of High Availability, included are “HA Workshops,” step-by-step instructions to get you through certain implementations, plus real-world inspired case studies.

1 out of 5 stars Not detailed enough- lacks implementation coverage.......2005-09-08

I agree with one other poster that this book attempts to cover all major HA features in Oracle in one small book. It is ok for a very high level overview hence the 1 star but falls flat for major details on the individual HA features. Instead my advice is to get The Oracle 9i RAC book from Rampant Press, Oracle Streams book and Oracle Data Guard book all from Rampant Press and read the Oracle concepts manuals for these HA features.

3 out of 5 stars Good book for intermediate DBA's.......2005-08-05

It is one of the few good books available in the market which covers RAC, DataGuard and Flashback features all in one.

One of the drawbacks of this book is the fact that too much has been packed into one single book and it seems to loose its focus and lacks in detail.

Overall, I still recommend this to my students who undergo my RAC and DG courses.

2 out of 5 stars Just overview of Oracle HA technology.......2005-02-26

The writers like to subsitute the Oracle manual in OTN but make no difference . eg, I wanted to setup the Dataguard through EM10g Grid Control. In fact , the creation standby database wizard was filled of bugs and user can't make use of it till patching and huge manual works. It's no doubt that writers never tried on this features. The book is rather splotchy and winding.

4 out of 5 stars Good, broad coverage.......2005-01-19

I like this book and it has excellent breadth especially the RAC wait event tuning. My only issue was that it did not have enough detail, but I liked what was there.

5 out of 5 stars Yes, Read this Book at least, twice........2005-01-18

Yes, Read this Book at least, twice.

Has steps linked to various chapters.
Reading, Second time will solve/Answer most of your questions.

This Book is very good- I have implemented HA with RAC / DR - successfully many times.

On the scale 1-5

RAC - 3
Uses Oracle provided kernel (Linux) with firewire (storage) Architecture, for beginners it might be helpful.
Missing GFS - Global file system implementation. Can be used instead of ocfs.

RAC - Oracle Installation - 4
Installation, always read documentation from Oracle.

Flashback - 3
Since this is neat/new feature - need more explanation. Explains implementing Flashback, not much on administration of Flashback.

DR - 5
DataGuard - 5
Very good steps and explanation - cannot go wrong implementing DR logical/Physical

TAF - 4
Good explanation of TAF - Yes you will be able to implement the TAF and load balance RAC env.

ASM - 3
This is a very powerful feature - Needs a separate chapter similar to DR/Dataguard.

Well I got this book for a class. It turned out to be an interesting book though. It had alot of interesting facts and for being a testbook it was not soooo dry to read.

1 out of 5 stars An awkward approach in the new era of film studies........2007-03-30

I do not think this book was as good as some of the other textbooks I have reviewed for use in my History of Cinema class. The one reason is that the book deals with history through an auteur approach, detailing each filmmaker. The current focus is typically a hybrid approach; using historical details, the business of film, and theory to teach the subject matter. Filmmakers are used as ways to interpret the consequences of that history. I was also surprised when a few major films were left out of the book, mostly foreign lesser known filmmakers. But how can you not discuss Rashomon when discussing Akira Kurosawa? This should not be a top choice for college level film classes.

4 out of 5 stars Very well organized, well beyond your average reviewer..........2002-08-23

I just finished checking out this book. Very well layed out: breaks down the history of film in a decade-by-decade fashion, further distinguishing american films from international cinema (which I particularly found a little pointless, but...) In general, I found the author's criteria to be well in line with those of a "smart" (or critical, if you may) moviegoer. Not a table book or a bed-side book, however: it is a textbook for a college-level film class.

5 out of 5 stars An indispensable film resouce.......2000-12-27

A survey of both American and International cinema, the text provides a thoroughly illustrated history of film ranging from the early works of the Lumiere brothers to the recent Magnolia. Authored by an English professor, the writing is organized, concise, and most importantly, interesting.

Upon finishing the book, I garnered a certain respect and appreciation for film and filmmakers, something that had not occurred to me with others texts. For example, it details the struggle of the German cinema during the time of the Third Reich. The reasons such acclaimed artists such as Fritz Lang and Leni Riefenstahl were being exploited for their abilities, and conversely how other talents were being suppressed for their rebellion. As I read more, I learned how political figures and movements often parallel cinematic output, and the awesome power that the silver screen can have on influencing the masses.

I highly recommend Flashback to anyone who has even the slightest interest in film. The copious amounts of photographs breaks up the text nicely, and there is certainly something for everyone.

3 out of 5 stars Intrigue in the Dry Tortugas.......2007-09-13

Flashback (Nevada Barr): Our favorite national park ranger, Anna Pigeon, is temporarily filling in for the boss at Dry Tortugas National Park in the Florida Keys, after the park's head ranger lost his girlfriend, along with his grip on sanity. It is very hot, and not horribly exciting in the park until Anna receives a box of old letters from her sister, who had unearthed them because they were written by their great, great aunt Raffia when her husband was an army captain at Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas. Anna spends her days dealing with sunburned tourists, and her nights getting caught up in the history of the last days of the Civil War.

Two stories then unfold; one in the present involving Anna and the staff at the park, and Raffia's story from the time when Fort Jefferson was an active military station and jail for the conspirators in the Lincoln assassination plot. The time periods start to merge in Anna's mind, however, when she sees and hears people from the past late at night while she wanders through the fort. Anna thinks she may be losing her grip on sanity, which makes her suspicious, since the last person to hold her job was institutionalized for the same thing. When one of her rangers is injured when an explosion sinks his boat, Anna starts to tie all the strange clues together to uncover a nefarious plot. Meanwhile, she's reading about a nefarious plot of old in her Aunt Raffia's letters, involving a sadistic sergeant, a rebel soldier, and Raffia's 16-year-old sister Tilly.

Anna is a solitary person and spends much of her time in introspection. Because of her circumstances at the fort, Raffia is also fairly solitary, but it was obvious that the two main characters in this novel were living very different lives. Raffia's welfare is largely dependent on the men around her, whereas Anna completely takes care of herself, even refusing her boyfriend's offer to fly down to keep her company when things are at their worst. Both stories, though different in nature, had similarities, and it was fun to read about two bits of intrigue happening in the same place at different times, and for different reasons. Nevada Barr is always worth reading, and this book is no exception.

2 out of 5 stars disappointed.......2007-04-22

The technique of telling two stories in alternate chapters did not work.Neither story ever got off the ground and the endings were dull!We are Nevada Barr fans, but finishing this book was a chore rather than a pleasure.Sorry!

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite Anna Pigeon books.......2007-04-18

I've read the Anna Pigeon novels in order, and I think this is my second favorite (after Firestorm) so far. I liked the interplay between the historical story and the modern-day story, and found that it increased the suspense - unlike a previous reviewer, I couldn't put the book down BECAUSE of the cliffhanger endings to each chapter.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best in the Anna Pidgeon series.......2007-04-15

Very well-written - the way the two stories, one historical, and one present-day, intertwine.

2 out of 5 stars Stay Back.......2006-06-22

Reading this book was exhausting, confusing, and extremely unsatisfying. Sentences and parqagraphs ramble arround with confusing descriptions and conflicting information. Some major elements that are introduced are left hanging; never brought up again. Others are revisited ad nauseum. Barr's quirky way of describing people and places with bizarre comparisons slows down the plot and is just missleading. Although I did stay with it until the contrived end, this is the first book I ever attacked with a red pen and edited a I went along. I estimate it could have been 50 pages shorter, and have carried far more impact, without the extraneous language. I am shocked she sells well enough to have published so many books. I'd stay far away from her in the future and purify yourself by reading a clasic P.D. James or a pure and simple Sue Grafton.

1 out of 5 stars Self-serving garbage.......2006-12-12

Timothy Leary's last stand. It's terribly sad so many trees had to die a painful death in order for this man to give the world one last horray-me before his colon ate him alive. Sadly, the book amasses to nothing more than "Me Against the Government: They Won..." For nearly 500 pages we hear Leary addressing his life in a manner of speaking that even George W. Bush would consider arrogant. Read Greenfield's biography of Leary for the true story.

5 out of 5 stars This book is a must have for any student of the 60's..........2006-09-18

... or anyone who wants to revisit the good ole daze...

I met Tim quite a bit later in life, when he was in his 60's, and man was he a bright, charismatic guy! You could just tell from watching him and listening to him that he was on a whole other level.

He was a veritable smorgasbord of wisdom, experience, humanity, love, insight, wonder, beauty, light, fun, excitement, and so on and so forth, ad infinitum...

He was very sharp into his transitional years (transitioning from old age to what we call death, what Tim would call a new beginning), way sharper than most younger people ever will be... The guy was a genius, highly intelligent, brilliant, an Einstein of consciousness.

He'd seen things; no, not hallucinations, but deep reality, deep consciousness, high consciousness, the way things work on an atomic level, the way things work on a macrocosmic level...

And he could tell you things... As he said one time "I'm a cheerleader for consciousness!" And he was. He taught a lot of people about freedom, about questioning reality, questioning authority, questioning your illusions, questioning everything.

Meanwhile, he lived quite a life. And this book is about that life, in his own words.

I found the book to be an absolute page-turner, fun, funny, interesting, amazing...

If you are looking for a really well-written and interesting autobiography, about one of the sixties' greatest men, I highly recommend you read this book. If you do, you'll see that Tim was about a lot more than just "turn on, tune in, drop out".

5 out of 5 stars Marilyn Monroe(Garry Hixon) rates Flashbacks.......2002-03-14

A really good book, lot's of funny stories about Leary and Liddy squaring off, a very intelligent man, comparable to John C. Lilly's Center of the Cyclone. Many Beatles references and 60's chantra's-Turn on tune in, drop out! The one where he escapes from CMC is funny, what an acrobat. The book is better than the audio cassettes. Book has his baby-boomer/whiz kids chart. Supposedly, any kid born after 1965, is a computer nut in the future, could be, but more like internet kids. Tells about his experiences at Harvard, and how stuffy they were in the early 60's. Tells about his [drug] experience with Marilyn Monroe, and he says"If I knew how sick she was then, my God I would of never given her the [stuff]." She in turn gave him some Randy/Mandy's, some Barb that gives feeling of Euphoria when mixed with booze. She was more wacked out than him. He talks about how happy he is, and how happy the world was in the 60's. Good book and I'm going to read it again, when I can afford it!-A good buy, for a book!-Love Marilyn(Garry)

5 out of 5 stars EL MUNDO DE LOS HONGOS Y EL ACID.......2002-01-04

5 out of 5 stars what an autobiography should be.......2001-06-16

This work is my favorite autobiography. Leary really starts at the very beginning (exceptionally humorously) with his conception in his mother's womb and takes you through his early years as a student, his time at Harvard as an esteemed academic and then up through his "retirement" years as a stand up comedian/raconteur and lecturer.

Each chapter is nicely designed with a mini bio of someone who had impressed Leary and then continues with Leary's take on the various events in his life. There is much self-disclosure here in the form of admitting mistakes, something you certainly do not find a lot of in many autobiographies of conservatives!

Leary's writing is lively, intelligent and hopeful - a friendly warning to all drug warriors that it is possible to live a productive, intellectually fruitful life while participating in moderate psychedelic "research" and consumption.

The thing I like best about this work is that it is a hallmark of the true libertarian spirit. Leary smiled quite often during his life despite the fact that the power and control freaks tried to keep him down every day. Leary was a proud humanist and his spirit shall live on in many of us.

Book Description

If you could relive your childhood, would you? What if you had no choice? On the thirty-fifth anniversary of his parents mysterious drowning, Jack Koryan returns to his family beach cottage. During a swim, Jack is attacked by a school of rare jellyfish whose toxic stings put him in a coma for three years. When he awakens, he finds that the jellyfish toxin has left him with an extraordinary memory. This discovery is complicated by flashbacks: some, pleasant childhood vignettes; others, confusing flashes of violence that leave him quaking in horror. Jack wonders if hes losing his mind, but that fear is dispelled by Rene Ballard, a pharmacologist working on the worlds first cure for Alzheimers Disease. She wants to test Jack because the basis of her drug is the very jellyfish toxin that sent Jack into a coma. And, while several test patients have miraculously regained functionality, others are also experiencing dangerous flashback seizures. Ballards revelation sets Jack on a quest to discover what is happening to him. He and Rene uncover a sinister pattern of lies and deceit that has left behind a trail of bodies. And several elderly patients are stuck in a past that they cannot emerge fromor perhaps dont want to.

5 out of 5 stars Down Memory Lane.......2007-03-11

I had already read two of Gary-Braver-Goshgarian's books prior to starting this one. His books are always educating and very difficult to put down. This book is no different. It is a well written and tightly woven mystery with a fascinating and original climax.
But, what held my attention above all was his research into Alzheimer's and the gentle understanding of those afflicted. He conveys with a rare and impressive perception their gradual descent into the hell they all so horrifyingly experience, which is inevitably followed by that "nothing" when the brain has been totally obiterated.
I am grateful to Mr Goshgarian to have written such a beautiful "poem"-albeit in the guise of a mystery novel- to those many unsung sufferers who cannot speak for themselves.
My father was one of them and I watched powerless as a very proud and gifted man slowly lost all his dignity and was all too soon a victim of dementia. In France, where we then lived, those with Alzheimer's were immediately relegated to an insane asylum. There he brutally-and thank God-swiftly died. Both my father and I thank Mr Goshgarian for this work.
As for the pharmeceutical insustry-what's new.

4 out of 5 stars Good medical thriller, short of five stars.......2007-01-23

Give credit to Gary Braver for an interesting premise and plot that incorporates Alzheimer's Disease, which as a theme doesn't sound obviously compelling. Similarly with a main character who is a clinical pharmacist. That was a first for me. Nevertheless, by linking the drug under test to the jellyfish that nearly killed Jack Koryan, he came up with a creative idea and engine that moves right along, without distracting sub-plots.

Braver maintains suspense, even though you know there is a connection between the jellyfish's toxin and the "Memorine" drug. He was right to have made the connection early, so the reader isn't left confused, wondering when the two story lines would connect. Instead, the reader can move on to how they will connect at the detail level and the fates of the characters.

Some of the results were relatively predictable, given that Braver doesn't exactly paint the drug company people and their sycophants very favorably. Some of those characters are fairly crudely drawn or one-dimensional. I did miss on predicting one of the key surprises (to me, anyway) near the end. Thus, there is sufficient suspense to keep the reader engaged.

A good thriller may also prompt some contemplation of what you would have done in a similar situation, and Braver has delivered. Put yourself in the role of Jack's wife, or Rene' Ballard, or the doctors running the study, or one of the family members of the patients. The extra bonus is whether the "cure" is worse than the disease. One might think offhand that almost anything is better than Alzheimer's. Braver has provided a scenario that has one thinking otherwise.

5 out of 5 stars From a Pharmacist's Point of View.......2006-12-12

It's unusual to see a clinical pharmacist as the protagonist in a suspense novel. The profession of pharmacy rarely captures the curiosity of the thrill-seeking public. In Flashback, author Gary Braver opens us to the world of investigational drug research. Quality of life is object of millions of dollars of research with the potential to enhance the bank accounts of the clever scientists who discover and develop a medication for memory. The thrill is in the quirky flashbacks of memory. The science of the novel is meticulously researched. I should know. I am an investigational drug pharmacist who works at a large academic center. In these days of hurried and sloppy inquiries, I admired the accuracy of the facts involved in the description drug development. Research in any field is a labyrinth. The weaving of fact and fiction makes this medical mystery tour unnervingly close to reality.

5 out of 5 stars Good Read!.......2006-10-23

The best thrillers walk that thin line between fiction and solid plausibility, and that's Flashback! I was with the author all the way. Congrats to Braver! This is a good read.

5 out of 5 stars Another Winner.......2006-10-15

I love a good medical thriller, and Gary Braver writes them about as good as they get. What really sets Braver's books apart is the humanity he brings to them. Flashback is about the search for a cure for Alzheimer's. The characters struggle with the disease's deadly, inexorable march, but their pain never descends into the maudlin -- as it could have in the hands of a less talented writer.
Braver writes with tenderness and poetry, and also with fire. The action starts with a bang and sucks the reader in immediately, the story moves along quickly, and the ending is slam-bang satisfying. Flashback is a good, meaty read, and I highly recommend it.

A must for any fan, this annotated collection of more than 800 strips, from the late '60s to 1995, includes comments from Trudeau and many of his satirical targets. From its beginnings in the Yale University student paper, Doonesbury quickly spread through newspapers in the U.S. and across the world, and the strip is currently featured in more than 1400 publications. Its strength has always been its nimble response to the ever-changing landscape of American culture, and even though many of the events in this volume have passed into history, or even obscurity, the humor is as fresh as ever.

For almost three decades, Trudeau has offered a refreshingly satirical take on everything from Watergate to Zippergate while following the ups and downs of a cast of characters that have become as well-loved as any in literature. The comments from newspapers, politicians and other that surround the strips reproduced in Flashbacks serve a dual purpose. They provide a context for readers who may not have been born when Nixon was president, and they amply demonstrate the enormous impact of Doonesbury on the American political landscape. It's funny too! --Simon Leake

5 out of 5 stars "What a long strange strip it's been.".......2005-12-05

The only way to enjoy the Doonesbury strip is to be in it for the long haul. When I first got into it many years ago,I started to hunt for the books that came out on a fairly regular basis,Now I have most of them in my collection.Keeping the characters sorted out definately takes an effort.Though not any artist,I have drawn (copied vs traced) most of them and one day maybe I'll mount them all as a collage.I told my wife that I might hang it over the fireplace in the living room. She said it would'nt go with the sofa.Is she trying tell me something?
For a while I had a 3-D Jigsaw Puzzle of the White House complete with a flag as we so often see in the strip, sitting atop the TV.It just disappeared one day--guess it didn't go with the sofa either!Maybe a small ceramic one for atop my computer would be OK.
This book is just what every follower of the strip needs. It is an overview of the first 25 years of the strip and lets you become familiar with many of the characters as they were introduced.I am not sure how many we have in total, but I suspect it is around 100.
I am sure every reader has a favourite episode.I know I do and it is included in this book.Being an avid birdwatcher,I was really taken ith Dick Davenport's pursuit of the Bachman's Warbler and his success in photographing it in his final act of immortality.(page 209).
When this book came out it was the best thing around, except for the almost annual books. Then ,3 years later,in1998,we got "The Bundled Doonesbury"with a CD of all the 9000strips.Although a great idea, there was much disappointment with the CD from a technical standpoint.See my review ,also done today,December 4,2005.
So,if you are looking for something simple to show what this strip has been about all these years;this is definately what you want.

5 out of 5 stars Consistently relevant, original, and hilarious.......2005-01-30

It seems like the comment that I have heard most frequently from others about Doonesbury is that they feel they can't get into it, because the story lines are long and drawn-out, and they assume a depth of knowledge about the characters on the part of the reader that could only have come from reading the cartoon over a long period of time. This book is a great opportunity for those who have not followed Doonesbury since it began (or, who perhaps were not alive when it began, as I was not) to follow the development of the strip from its earliest days through very recent times. It's also a great book for long-time Doonesbury fans, because it provides a lot of additional materials, comment from Trudeau, comment from a number of cartoon subjects over the years (check out what Donald Trump said about it), etc. This book is also great for people who like Doonesbury and would like a book to call their own, but don't want to spring for a whole set of collected strips in book form that have been released over the years, because it provides a fairly comprehensive collection of the strip in one volume.

Doonesbury has been a chronicle of our times since the 60s, and in my view, along with "Calvin & Hobbes," has been the most consistently original and consistently humorous strip appearing on the comics page in recent times. Let's hope it is around for another 25!

1 out of 5 stars man oh man.......2003-09-04

It is hard to believe that people used to think this guy was a laugh riot.

5 out of 5 stars Hail,hail,the gang's all here!.......2002-10-15

Here we find the first CharlieBrownish debut of Mike, and also the first appearances of B.D. the Jock, zonked Zonker and Marvelous Mark, and also Bloopsie, Joanie Caucus, and the immortal Duke, whose Chinese saga makes one of the best pages of the book. Here you can follow the graphic evolution of the strip, and the psychological evolution of the charachters in the course of American and world history. A must for the Doonesbury fans!

5 out of 5 stars Look back in irony!.......2001-06-25

Has it really been 25 years that Doonesbury is making his contributons to our survival in a world gone mad? This book makes it possible to look back, not in anger but irony. The problems from back then are gone, replaced by even worse ones, the cast has grown older but Mike and his friends are still with us. Great!

Book Description

The women in Erotic Flashback exude the erotic glow and alluring sensuality of temptresses inviting lovers to bed. They are real women with real desires; each beautiful and sexual in her own, unique way. Berkowitz places his subjects in lavish, textured sets, evocative of Baroque French postcards. They are draped in lush fabrics and opulent accessories, collected from his travels all over the world--Thai silks, Oriental carpets, Kashmiri embroideries, Indian jewelry. His women recline languorously on pillowed divans, stand challengingly beside elaborate screens or sprawl in comfortable chairs, as if awaiting approach. Were these photos were taken last week or last century? It is difficult to say. These models range from tall to short, dark-skinned to fair, full-figured to sparrow-like, and they are all 100% natural, with no plastic surgery or augmentations.

5 out of 5 stars A pure pleasure make.......2006-08-01

Sexy maidens in sumptuous settings. A wonderful pure and sexy Erotic Flashback. Sensual, tempting and full of suspense. There is little written text, so whether the buyer is English- or French-speaking (or of any other language), the book will be a worthwhile purchase for truly anyone, anywhere in the world. 260 photos on 288 pages. A pure pleasure maker in my eyes!

2 out of 5 stars Nice Package, But That's It.......2005-10-13

This book, although small dimensionally, contains over 300 images in 285 pages - but it is still a big disappointment. Yeah, it comes nicely packaged with a neat, sturdy little slipcase and all, but the content is pretty unoriginal. Although none of the models can pass for vintage erotica models , this could have worked rather nicely with some originality and variation. I guess they tried to make up with quantity what the book lacked in quality. Please see the images I have posted and read my comments - I'll let you judge for yourself.

    Book Description

Blood Lure (Bill Weideman, Melissa Coates): In Blood Lure, Anna returns to the West, where she is sent on a training assignment to study grizzly bears in Waterton/Glacier National Peace Park. But back in her beloved mountains, where the air is pure and cool, Anna fails to find the spiritual renewal she expected. Instead, nature seems to have become twisted, carrying a malevolence almost human in its focus.

Hunting Season (Ruth Bloomquist, Melissa Coates): When Anna answers a call to historic Mt. Locust, the last thing she expects to encounter is murder. But the man Anna finds in the stand's old bedroom is no tourist in distress. He's nearly naked, and very dead, his body bearing marks consistent with an S & M ritual gone awry. When hidden agendas and old allegiances are revealed, it's suddenly Anna's life on the line.

Flashback (Ruth Bloomquist, Mikael Naramore): Running from a proposal of marriage from Sheriff Paul Davidson, Anna Pigeon takes a post as a temporary supervisory ranger on remote Garden Key in Dry Tortugas National Park. This island paradise served as a prison for the Lincoln conspirators during and after the Civil War. When a mysterious boat explosion - and the discovery of unidentifiable body parts - keeps her anchored to the present, Anna finds crimes of past and present closing in on her. A tangled web that was woven before she arrived begins to threaten her sanity and her life.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent new Athena Force book!.......2006-04-23

I'm a huge fan of the Athena Force series so it was with much excitement that I picked this book up. Justine Davis does not disappoint as FBI forensic scientist, Alexandra Forsythe, and FBI agent, Justin Cohen (aka "Dark Angel") must solve the cold case murder of Marion Gracelyn, the founder of the Athena Academy. Fans of the Athena Force series will recognize Alex and Justin from the first Athena Force book, PROOF. U.S. Senator Marion Gracelyn died 10 years ago after a series of "accidents". While Alex and Justin begin investigating this cold case, someone powerful is determined to stop them at all costs- even if it means murdering both FBI agents. Alex and Justin must work quickly to prevent their own deaths as several attempts are made on their lives, including a shooting attempt, a bomb, and even a rocket launch attack! The action is nonstop in this wonderful installment in the series, making this a very enjoyable read. While it is a stand alone novel, I highly recommend that you first read at least PROOF prior to this book as this book continues the romance between Alex and Justin. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars exhilarating Athena Academy thriller .......2006-04-14

The murder of U.S. Senator Marion Gracelyn, the founder of the Athena Academy, is a cold case now over a decade old. Though chances are slim the alumni and faculty hope to one day solve the case and bring the culprit to justice.

That individual obviously is near or at the top of the DC power structure as he or she seems to anticipate every move Alex makes. The latest Athena Academy thriller will exhilarate series fans as the plot focuses on uncovering who killed the founding matriarch. This fast-paced tale grips the audience from start to finish wondering who the culprit is.
