Gorgeous!.......2007-10-02
The book is beautiful. Can't believe the price...would have paid a lot more for the quality. My husband loved it too! We just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. It's a perfect gift for any newlywed or engaged couple.
Great wedding gift!.......2007-08-24
I bought one for my sister and one for myself. It is simple and cute and takes all the hard work out of scrapbooking our anniversaries. Love it!
Great gift!.......2007-08-22
We first received this book as a wedding gift. Each year we fill in the new information. What I really like about it is that it isn't so detailed and time consuming. If you're like me, if it's going to take too much time, it just keeps getting put off until you forget the info. This isn't like that at all. It's nice & to the point.
Great find!.......2007-08-12
This was given to me as a shower gift with some beautiful pens. It's been really a nice ritual to fill it out with my husband every year and to look back and see how the story of our marriage progresses. I am giving it as a gift for the first time and an very excited to see how the recipient likes it.
Our Wedding Anniversary Memory Book.......2007-08-03
I got this book for my husband for our first anniversary. I figured it covered the paper aspect as well as the time aspect of the gift giving. We enjoyed filling out the book together. The illustrations are beautiful.

Customer Reviews:
Very disappointed!.......2007-07-10
The cute title lured me in to buying this book although the price was much higher than the other flower girl books listed on amazon.com. The only other thing I liked about this book was the introductory page. There is a place to write the date of the wedding, bride & groom's name along with the flower girl's name. From that point on the book was a pure disappointment. I had ordered 4 different books on being a flower girl and this one ranks at the bottom of my list! It lacks a good explanation of the role of a flower girl, has no story line, and will not keep my 4.5 year old granddaughter's interest for one minute. I tend to think that if something cost more it will be better...not in this case! Here is a perfect book on being a flower girl with a fun story and explanation on what happens before, during and afer a wedding. If you are looking for a book to help your little flower girl understand her role buy this:
The Little Flower Girl (Pictureback(R))
My Kids Love It!.......2007-03-03
Kids don't have to be preparing for a wedding to appreciate the positive, inspiring words and images of the book. I love the narative which includes things like sports, science and entrepreneurship along with the classic "girl" stuff. I even read the book to my two boys so that they can understand that girls are a lot like them in experiences and aspirations.
10 Neat Things About Being a Flower Girl.......2006-03-23
Was a little disappointed with this book selection. Bought as a little gift for my flower girls and although they were 7,5 and 3, it was really only meant for the 3-yr-old. Nice illustrations...just didn't care for the list of 10 things!
How Great to Have These Books at My Wedding!.......2004-12-11
I was recently married and was given these books by a friend. I had several children in my ceremony and I wanted to make the day as special for them as it was for me. The faces on my little flower girls lit up when I gave the books to them at the rehearsal dinner. They read and re-read them that night; they would not put them down! The day of the wedding the girls could not wait to perform their duties and I honestly feel that the books helped them understand the significance of the occasion. Even better, they were good as gold and knew exactly what to do. These books are great and were a wonderful way to wholeheartedly include the girls in the ceremony, as well as give them something fun to do at the boring rehearsal dinner!
Not a great book .......2004-12-09
I purchased this book for my 4 year old niece for upcoming wedding and the 10 Cool things about being a ring bearer for my fiance's 8 year old nephew and was disappointed with both books. The text is virtually identical in both books (which wouldn't be a problem since they are going to two different homes) but the text isn't very compelling and is much too specific. I heard multiple comments of "we aren't doing that," "you're my aunt, not my sister" etc. She enjoyed another book I also bought which told the STORY of a young flower girl -- and she could relate to "she's just like me" instead of the confusing first person narration of this book. It DOES make a difference to a child if the narration is first or third person since they often view characters in stories as friends.

A must for invitations!.......2005-01-10
I run a small stationery and invite business (Quite the InviteTM) and have found this to be an invaluable tool for my business. This book covers all possibilities. Not everyone has use for this book, but anyone who does lots of entertaining or needs to make sure their invites follow protocol, this is a must.
the definitive guide to elegant stationery.......2003-04-18
A lovely reference book on formal and semi-formal stationery, calling cards, and the proper wording for invitations. Filled with enthusiasm after reading the book, I went into my local stationers to price some of this fancy stuff and concluded that I was better off with a computer and printer. Not that I wouldn't love engraved letter sheets, monogrammed notes, and house stationery, but it would run into the hundreds of dollars. And that's just for the letter sheets and engraved envelopes! However, it's wonderful to press my nose against the window and dream about spending my children's inheritance on engraved correspondence cards!
The sections on the content of one's correspondence were the weakest part of the book. The four-line formula condolence notes did not strike me as particularly consoling, for instance. "Miss Manners' Basic Training: Communication" and other books specific to letter writing give much better tips on how to compose meaningful messages. But Crane's remains the lofty goal for elegant correspondence.
A desk reference with attitude........2000-12-27
As someone who got really intrigued by parchment and fancy fonts when I got married, I'm rather surprised that the only version of this book still in print is the "Blue Book of Wedding Stationery." After all, one can have a hoity-toity paper fetish without being engaged.
After a few years of hunting, I found a used of this book in a small used bookstore in downtown Seattle, and I may never give it up. Even though the editor (Feinberg is not credited as the author, and there's an introduction by Stanley Marcus) is bossy, unrelenting on some conventions and is essentially pushing Crane's engraving trade every step of the way, I'm still drawn in by the ellegance of "proper" social stationery. It's easy to take Feinberg's advice with a grain of salt: he seems to resent popular etiquette mavens who state that an extensive "stationery wardrobe" is not necessary, and that the most formal invitations are handwritten.
The introduction of this book gets into the history of paper-making and engraving, and the beginning of each section gets into either the history of the custom being described or stories behind that particular piece of social stationery.
I'm a tad disappointed by the section on calling cards -- a small fluffy book I saw on the subject once got a bit more into detail on what it meant if a particular corner was folded -- but the fact that Feinberg addresses the subject at all wins a point with me.
Other topics covered are the basic "stationery wardrobe" for both men and women, invitations to various occasions, wedding stationery (of course), greeting cards and announcements, "professional stationery," forms of address and a brief history of Crane's. The book includes an occasional example of famous social stationery, such as a 1942 Christmas card from the President and Mrs. Roosevelt.
I've been online for ten years, but I still love sending and receiving paper letters. "Crane's Blue Book of Stationery: The Styles and Etiquette of Letters, Notes and Inivitations," snooty though it is, nurtures that love like few other books have.
Chapter headings include:
1. The Essence of Etiquette
2. Social Stationery
3. Invitations to Social Occasions
4. Wedding Stationery
5. Greeting Cards, Social Announcements, and Social Correspondence
6. Business and Professional Stationery
7. Calling Cards
8. Appendix

If your planner hasn't read this...........2005-04-07
I am a wedding planner (eventsbykaren@hotmail.com) and if you aren't using a planner, you are nuts, and if you are and they haven't read this book, they are nuts! All people planning a wedding should read this book. Even if you don't read it and only use it as a reference then you still should buy this book. A wedding is a one shot deal and if you haven't planned one before, trust me, you have NO IDEA what it takes! There is a reason why planners make good money. This is one book that I recommened to all brides, mothers, fiances, and planners regardless of if you are using a coordinator or not.
Best wedding book yet!.......2003-05-20
If you are on a mission to plan a fantastic wedding, this is the book to read. This is the 3rd wedding book I have read in the last few months, and by far the most useful! It has great advice on how to get organized and plan the perfect wedding. I would recommend it to anyone planning a wedding.
All The Help You Need.......2003-02-24
WOW, I bought this book with not so great expectations, but to my pleasure it turned to be one of my favorites books ever. Give practical advices, how to care of details, everything you need to know and how to do it, it's a great book for wedding consultants, (novice or expert) and of course for the bride to be, giving them a practical inside look of everything they have to know to make the wedding a dream wedding... just two words:
BUY IT!
Must have wedding book!!!.......2002-04-22
This is by far the best wedding book available. The author is a mega wedding planner and you can tell why after reading the book. My fiance and I both read the book when we first got engaged and loved it! I am the groom and I learned a lot. I went from totally naive to getting a bunch of inside tips on getting the most bang for our buck. It made my involvement in the plans really enjoyable.
Save Time, Money and Stress with this Book!.......2001-07-05
I was thrilled when Robbi published this book! As a member of JWI, I know how difficult it can be for a couple to plan a wedding. There are so many things to do and hiring experts for every piece can cost an arm and a leg! I love that this book offers all the great tips that JWI event professionals share with their clients ... in one easy resource book. A couple can save lots of time and money by reading this book. But best of all, it can help ensure that their wedding day is as fun-filled and stress-free as possible! Happy weddings, everyone!

Great wedding gift.......2007-09-09
I received this same cookbook last year when i got married, and i love it. So this year I bought it for my friend who got married. It has many hints and measuring charts, which a lot of new cook's need. I have used it many times!
GREAT PRODUCT.......2007-06-27
The book shipped very fast and was exactly what I was looking for at a great price.
Betty's always a good cook........2007-03-08
I purchased this as a shower gift. I had two different brides getting, and Betty had two different but similar cookbooks. So I gave one to each of the gals. My hope is that they will be as well worn and used as the Betty Crocker Cookbook I received as a shower gift 30 plus years ago.
I did like that nutritional info was given for each recipe, calories, fat grams, etc.
beautiful and the best cookbook ever.......2007-01-11
I have this cookbook for myself in the regular edition and have purchased several editions for other people i know because of the quality of this cookbook. Every page features color illustrations and offers an excellent variety of both classic and "foodie" recipes - The bridal edition was a gift and it was beautiful - the bride loved it!
Lovely gift for Newlyweds.......2006-11-04
This Bridal Edition of the well known Betty Crocker Cookbook was a big hit at the bridaly shower where I gave it as a gift. The book is beautiful - from the cover all the way through. Plenty of room for the newlyweds to make it their cookbook by adding notes, comments and important dates. The recipes were accompanied by lovely how-to photographs as well as finished product photos. Because it was unique it was passed around for all to see and everyone from the bride to the groom at home found it a delightful and personal gift.

Waste of money.......2007-08-30
I was expecting A LOT more from this book, especially with the title "anything and everything you could possibly say at the altar - and then some". There were very few examples, even fewer useable ones. Waste of money!!
There is a much better book available called The Wedding Ceremony Planner by Reverend Judith Johnson. It has hundreds of suggestions throughout for the different parts of the ceremony. It was much more helpful!
It is just what it says "Vows".......2007-08-27
I did like this book. It gives step by step how the wedding ceremony is planned out. Greeting, Declaration of Consent,Charge to the convocation, Address, Readings, Vows, Ring Exchange, Pronouncement. However just as the title says it only gives vows. If you are looking for a book that offers more about each part of the wedding this is not for you. If you are looking just for the "Vow Portion" of the ceremony you won't be dissapointed.
Plain Jane, Tear Jerkers and OMGOSH do they really say that???.......2007-05-12
Ok, I have read it ALL now! I mean, really, I understand writing your own vows (my hubby and I did) but come on! Most of the ideas in the book are rock solid and it is arranged in a way to help even the most timid bride and groom find a comfortable fit. The new twist is the ideas for the, umm, shall we say, far left among us who need to express themselves in TRULY unique ways at their wedding ceremony.
Yes, it is great for organizing, planning and laying out a service. It is full of ideas and resources to help make your (hopefully One)Big Special day truly unique. I would recommend it.
Okay book but not super helpful.......2007-03-17
This book was not as helpful as I thought it would be. I was looking for nice quotes about love that I could use on my wedding day. This book has a large section of quotes but none of them were all that great. The book gives advice on how to write your own vows but not enough examples. Not a terrible book but not as helpful as it could be.
A comprehensive guide to writing your own wedding vows........2006-07-20
This book offers a lot despite its size. There is plenty of advice on how to write your own wedding vows. The book gives you a lot to think about that helps you write your own personalised vows. This book contains many poems and thoughts so you can choose the words that express how you feel for your loved one.The book caters for everyone and it does so very sensibly without offending anyone. The book is one of the best books I've read and has so much to offer.I highly recommend it.For the price alone its a good value.Makes an ideal gift.If you dont want to buy several books you should consider this book.

Don't Mess With FATE or Freewill.........2006-12-17
Tonight my daughter and I were out looking for a perfect gift for a party tomorrow (gift for child required) and found this book and a doll to match sitting front and center and maybe a bit sideways at the local booksellers shop.
So we opened it up to see what adventure Miss Lilly was finding herself in this time. I'm a 1st grade teacher and Lilly and her purple purse have been very important parts of my shared readings for ...ummm...more years than I think Lilly has. My daughter Syl even had a purple purse just to act out her precious purple purse story and now with her at 17 we look at these books with longing...
Lilly's a mouse for me, living life with everything she's got, not afraid of feeling and more than a little mystified by other's inability to walk in her shoes...
Henkes always takes a good look at children with their very real life...and spins a story that just has it all. And...it has everything I don't have presently in my NCLB afflicted life in an Under performing school forced into proscribed scripted curriculum teaching so presently devoid of story...I'm Sarah "one note" on this but when you read a book like this one you realize how much a book can bring to a classroom and children.
Lilly is so charming and here she is completely with her whole soul determined to be the flower girl at her teacher's wedding, but relegated by her very favorite teacher, to watch another get the honors. Just looking at the note she writes alone to convince her teacher of her worthiness is so wonderful,it's an appeal that just should have done the trick. Henkes must someday come to my Room 10 and meet my student Gabby la la . They are somehow related, Lilly and Gab. I, too, got a note mine on Friday, "Why I am the best person to be the Class Pezidents" a new position she decided to open.
There are from time to time children who are just so invigorated, alive, so vestily in this life, so carpe diem you gotta just stand away and say..."May I assist you Madame Pezident?". Such is Lilly who doesn't immediately get the flower girl position but does through the storyline save the day....and in the end doesn't it always fall to the Lilly's of the world to sweep in graciously(even when doing so after having been second placed right in front of everyone when they knew who was supposed to be in the position of flower girl) and put it all to rights and give life a kind of warmth and zest that makes us realize that sometimes you have to live and love, they come into your life and turn it all upsideover as my Gabby La La says.
My student listens with great quiet to Lilly stories and always dramatically raises her arms and says at the end, "Oh...it's so cuuttee..that's a good story teacher." Dramatic falling to the floor in giggling ball. If read with charm this story of the wedding of Lilly's teacher is guaranteed to be a hit with all children.
The book did not need another endorsement here but after reading it and picking it up tonight for our children's gift exchange I have to say it'll be read on my apple carpet in the classroom Monday with lots of fun because I'm taking in a basket of flower petals left over from a bouquet of roses from my anniversary which is rapidly fading and I saved , perfect for reenactment purposes. Enjoy a really wonderful read and you must, must get it with the Lilly doll." Too cutes" from Gab..And may I say...you only live once, so with Lilly, its wonderful to feel with every cell you have heads to toes...throw a few petals all over and practice the day you'll be called forth to walk down your aisle.
Slinger Shotguns Shotwell.......2006-12-14
An instant classic!
Henke does it again, great book. Henke creates very real characters who grapple with emotions about as intense as I've seen for this format. In Lilly's perfect day, her teacher, Mr. Slinger, in an act of naked nepotism, elevates his own niece to the role of flower girl. This despite the inordinate amount of energy Lilly has put towards practicing for the event, the proficiency with which she has rehearsed every precocious countenance, the inestimable classroom bragging rights with which she fixates her anticipation. This mouse is due her fate, and only the venal world of adult institutions could deny her.
No one can quite bring themselves to be direct her Lilly. "Do you understand what we are trying to tell you?" they ask. How can a child honestly answer that question? How can a parent honestly interpret a child's answer to that question. My stomach was in a knot for Lilly. I knew this was a Henke book, I knew it had to have a happy ending. But how could Lilly's youthful, brittle narcissism possibly absorb the onslaught of such a sleight? I wouldn't dream of ruining the ending here, but I will provide a little hint by saying that a baby mouse dose of propanolol would have gone a long way. But even the villainous niece's feelings are spared, as Henke ties up all the strands as only he can. Thumbs up for Henkes! And go Bears!
What a delight!.......2006-11-04
Our little granddaughter was preparing to be a "flower girl" at the age of 2!
So reading this to her for a couple of weeks ahead of time was such
a good idea -- and so helpful.
We substituted the names of our own family members where we could,
and ad-libbed into the book as needed.
She loved it!
AND she marched down that aisle with her little basket of flowers
with such purpose! It was a very exciting time -- the book was enormously
helpful.
Lilly does it again........2006-11-04
I love the Lilly books, as do my granddaughters. She's cute and sassy, and one of my favorite Henkes characters. Enjoy!
Another Henkes Favorite!.......2006-08-28
Lilly is back in this fabulous story! Kevin Henkes is one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint! Very sweet story, my students loved it!
Customer Reviews:
Cute but...........2005-07-26
We were a little disappointed that the story said the ring bearer collected $5.00 from guests at the reception and was able to go to the Zoo. We had to have my sister skip that page or we would have a four year old thinking he is able to collect money at the reception. Otherwise it was a good book and perfect for our young ring bearer.
What a Great Book For a Special Time.......2004-12-11
I recently was married and in addition to flower girls, I had a young nephew as the ring bearer. He was a little timid about performing the task as he was going to have to walk by himself down the aisle! At the rehearsal dinner I gave him the book and he loved it. For the first time he realized that he was an important part of the ceremony and at the wedding it was clear that he took great pride in his job. The book made him feel better about the whole process and was a great way to give him something special for helping me on such an important day. I would recommend this book for anyone having a young boy (3-7 yrs old) as a ring bearer.
There are much better books out their.......2004-12-09
I was very disappointed in this book -- and I am returning it rather than give it to our ring bearer. I found the book to be much too specific to fit our needs (the ring bearer is refered to as "I" but the wedding is specifically described as his older brother and he will have to miss the soccer game in order to go to the wedding). The first person writing will make if difficult for children to identify with the book, since the details are unlikely to fit most circumstances. I found another book that told the story of a child name Bobby, to be a much better fit, because kids can differentite between a character and themselves much easier than between "I" and themselves.
I was also disappointed that the flower girl book was almost a verbatim version of this book.
Everything it says it will be.......2003-02-07
My husband and I bought this book for our wedding, and it has become a lovely keepsake remembrance of the special role our ring bearer played for us.
OK by itself..........2002-10-25
...but don't buy this book AND 10 Neat Things about Being a Flower Girl. It is the exact same book, same wording, etc., with only a few gender changes here and there. That wouldn't have been a problem except that my ring bearer and flower girl are siblings in the same household. Now I feel silly giving them identical books.
As for this book on its own merits, there is no story to it. I thought it only "sort of" explained the ring bearer's role and didn't really make it sound fun.

Stories of Ireland.......2007-04-05
Binchy clearly loves her homeland of Ireland, and readers will too. This collection of three novels gets an A+!
Three Complete Books ~ Maeve Binchy.......2007-01-04
Maeve Binchy is one of the best authors I have read. I love the fact that she is Irish and writes stories of Ireland. The slow pace makes reading a pleasure. I liked all three books in this, but particularly liked FIREFLY SUMMER. Hopefully, she will have another book on the market soonest.
The lilac bus, firefly summer, silver wedding.......2006-08-17
I was very disappointed with this book. I have read a few of Maeve Binchy's books and loved them. I couldn't put them down. However all the stories in this book just leave you unfulfilled for an ending. I expected 3 complete stories and was very disappointed.
Good Gift.......2005-10-21
The publishers get an A+ for putting these books together. I have always read her books as soon as they come out. Now I will buying this as an excellent give for others, so handy for the holidays!
A great collection of stories.......2002-10-08
I liked Maeve Binchy before, but I am even more of a fan after buying this set. Unfortunately because I am such a busy person this book took me just over a year to finish! But I loved every page and would definitely give it a re-read.
The three novels in this book are all distinctly different and, in my view, each deserve their own little mini-review:
THE LILAC BUS - Since I read this a year ago, the finer details are lost on me. But I did like how this novel focuses on so many characters and yet you get to feel like you know each one. And I loved how each character viewed each scene differently. You read one chapter and you see one person's point of view, and then you read the next and you get completely different thoughts on the situation. Only Ms. Binchy could keep tabs on so many characters so skillfully. And all I can say about DUBLIN FOUR is that I had to flip through it a little to remember what it was even about, so obviously it's not as stellar as its counterpart. 4 stars total.
FIREFLY SUMMER - A great book all around. It's easily the longest story of the three (it's almost 500 pages, compared to 200 for The Lilac Bus and 150 for Silver Wedding) but once you get going, you don't even notice the book's length. The characters are so genuine, and you are upset to see them go at the end. The main plot is very thick, and yet you enjoy reading all the little sub-plots that go along with it. I actually cried reading some parts of this book! The book ends as you hope it will but not in the manner that you expect! So will Patrick's hotel succeed? You'll just have to read it and find out! 5 stars.
SILVER WEDDING - is the freshest in my mind because I just finished it. It is similar to The Lilac Bus in that it devotes each chapter to a character. But while The Lilac Bus follows the characters through the same moments of time, each chapter in Silver Wedding is a distinct moment. For instance, when you read about Anna (chapter 1) it is months before the anniversary, but when you read about Deirdre (chapter 8), it's a few weeks before. The more you read, the more you find out about the wedding itself and the people involved. However, I found that although there were plenty of sub-plots to keep the story going, the main plot was not very well developed or interesting (ok, so they're having a party, and Deirdre's the only one who's truly excited... you almost get that from page one, why keep going?). And the characters themselves aren't as "3-dimensional" as they are in Ms. Binchy's other stories. I really expected more, but it still wasn't a waste of time. 3 stars.
