Love it! Great resource!.......2007-05-17
I LOVE this book because I keep returning to it and making so much use out of it when I work with some of my clients. A few of my clients have also commented on this book and how helpful it was in explaining some things that were happening in their lives and how they were responding to certain life events and people. If used properly a great resource for clinicians and patients. Supplements the other Jeffrey Young Schema Therapy text and very much designed for the lay person and client to use. It also provides good case studies and helpful strategies.
Reinventing Your Life.......2007-05-13
I found this book very helpful. As a self help book it has helped me to find a lot of things about myself, which in turn has made me feel better about myself & more able to stand up for myself. Excellant (it was recomended to me by my Doctor)
The Awakening.......2007-05-13
Reinventing Your Life is a powerful opening to taking a closer look at ones self and the conditions that we place ourselves into without a second thought. This book exposed the many negative thoughts that enter the mind and that we embrace without questioning the information or intention of the information. I'm proud to say that I no longer struggle with negative thoughts and/or behaviors after reading this book. Of course, something works only if you are willing to conscientously put the steps into action.
Lifetraps -- No Longer a Lifelong Trap.......2007-03-02
Excellent book on how to apply a combination of psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioral techniques to oneself (through self-help) or others (in counseling). Based on the idea that there are "maladaptive schemas" starting in early years of development, ways are outlined for identifying, experiencing, and then challenging and replacing these "lifetraps" with improved and more satisfying functional coping skills. The authors originally developed these methods for personality-disordered (Axis II, DSM-IV TR) Clients but this is the "popular" (and I think the more useful and better-presented) version of their original book on the topic. The concepts apply to everyone across the board and are not limited to people who have a "diagnosis" or are in "therapy."
A Must Read.......2007-02-23
Having been a member of twelve step fellowships (AA/NA) for many years and working through their programme, I found this book incredablely valuable.
It has shown me the exact nature of my shortcomings/defects of character and a healthy way to address them.
I can recommend this book to people of similar ilke.

A bargain at ten times its price.......2007-07-02
The transformative effect this book initiated in my Tai Chi/ Qigong practice of thirteen years has been invaluable. Master Liao's emphasis on chi awareness and cultivation stands in sharp contrast to that of many teachers who focus on a sequence of memory - stretching postures, i.e., placing quantity above quality. That being said, I would foreworn readers that at least several weeks to months of consistent practice may be necessary for most individuals to begin to realize the benefits of Master Liao's teaching.
Nice overview but maybe too abstract.......2007-05-27
To start with I cannot claim authority in Chi perception. I have had little experience of feeling my own chi energy through Taiji and Qigong practice over the past 4 years. So I am pretty much a novice. I have also practiced karate in the past and kenjutsu for a while but I stuck with taiji.
Being a novice could imply that I am generally impatient, but I do strive to put in hours of practice to feel my chi. However I do like PRACTICE instead of WORDS.
So, when it comes to books, I like those that cut through the generic comments and get to the point. I found that the book "Chi: how to feel your life energy" was a bit obfuscated with generic descriptions regarding how good it will be when I feel again my life energy. I found that the book would even get artistic at times describing the feeling of the chi. Comments like "Like a crystal of extremely pure diamonds, very dense and clear, when you reach high intensity of mind, it will be capable of reflecting light at full strength." (p. 88) are nice but kind of useless... I think. I would rate that the most important part of the book makes up for 50% of its volume. The practical exercises are effective but still very few and only appear at the very end of the book. I would expect this book to be filled with more exercises, but then I am warned in the book (p. 97) that I can "order a video or DVD " to help me learn these forms and others from [..] etc.
This latter part is also something I sensed about this book: it feels like a commercial teaser. You get the basics and you have to start buying more and more to learn more (if you, like me, live very far away from taichitaocenter's location). I do not like books that function as teasers. They seem to come again and again to the same point and never to the core theme.
I would expect a book like this to be probably slightly bigger in volume, cut some of the generic descriptions (we get the point alright?) and show more practice photos and descriptions to be taken on by the readers that want to try things out. Then maybe a DVD could come in handy and welcome if the reader cannot get the rhythm or other details for the exercises.
Maybe other people (like the other reviewers) feel differently... so make your own opinion ;-)
Kind regards
Ilias
Great book........2007-05-14
Easy read. I like the lay out of the book. It is very well organized and concise. It gets to the important stuff fast.
I'll recommend this book to anyone interseted in improving your life and inner strength!!!.......2007-01-16
I have been involved in several Martial Arts (=that always include the harmony of your inner spirit/Chi/QI/"Your Trueself" for over 30 years...
This book is easily read and yet comprehensive to understand for anyone (also readers without MA experience). Interesting, clarifying in a simple way, written by a master and if you use the recomended applications - they
will change your road in life forever.

For Taichi players, meditators, chi healers, Tao seekers, et al ...........2005-11-09
This book is probably the only one I've found that answers the real questions: "What is chi? Where did it come from? and, what can you do with it?" While the last section of the book illustrates some basic taichi exercises that anyone can do at home, the content would be valuable to those studying acupuncture, herbal medicine, meditation, or chi healing as well -- not just taichi students. Warning: This book looks and sounds deceptively simple, but inside are some pretty intense statements about the Tao, the nature of life and mind and the soul which aren't the usual stuff. It will definitely challenge you to expand your views on taichi and Taoism. Since I like that type of challenge, I give this five stars.

REALLY INTERESTING INFORMATION FOR PARENTS!.......2007-09-02
As a pediatrician, I must say that this book is a "must have" for parents. With obesity rates rising among children, this book is helpful in avoidng nutritional mistakes among growing children. I found the book easy to read and follow. AVOIDING THE 15 BIGGEST MISTAKES PARENTS MAKE: A PEDIATRICIAN'S PERSPECTIVE
Good information in easy to understand presentation.......2007-05-12
This book is useful in our home. The informatin is relevant and we enjoy trying alot of the things mentioned in this book.
Great tool to teach children how to eat healthier.......2007-03-10
I am in the wellness industry and give children's health talks to families to help them eat healthier. This book is one of the tools I suggest they read to their kids to help them know what foods to eat or not eat. It even comes with a pull out poster. The children love it and get involved.
Perfect way to introduce children to the concept of Nutrition.......2007-02-09
I purchased this book because I've enjoyed some of the other books by Dr. Sears, and thought it would be a good way to teach my kids about making good food choices. I was expecting a very basic discussion of eating right - the "eat more veggies and fruits" and "stay away from junk" type discussion that we've heard a million times. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the book covering more in depth nutritional topics, like partially hydrogenated oils or refined sugar/flour. But they're presented in a very accessible way that's easy for children to understand. The book also talks about the need to drink plenty of water. The green-yellow-red food organization works well. I'm glad that the book doesn't try to tell you that you can never have treats like cake or pizza - just that that you don't want to eat too many, too often. The book also comes with a small poster that shows the "traffic light foods." We hung it on our fridge, and now both of our children evaluate what they're eating using the Green-Yellow-Red model. The message has really made an impression on my kids. Sometimes when we're in the store and my kindergartener reaches for junk food, I can tell him it's a Red Light food, and immediately he understands and stops asking for it. I'm so impressed. This book is truly an asset to families. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Such a creative concept.......2007-01-12
I love this book!! Trying to keep junk food away from children is like keeping cats away from mice. The concept of using "green light", "yellow light" and "red light" foods is so appealing. Now my toddler (3 1/2) is catergorizing foods and realizing that some foods should not be ingested!!
Good nutrition starts at a young age. More and more children are getting diabetes, autism, and even heart disease at a very young age. Why wait?? to teach good eating habits. Nutrition is the key to a good, long, healthy life.
GREAT BOOK

Man-bashing.......2007-01-19
Although I enjoyed the majority of the book, I was quite annoyed with the constant blaming of "male dominated" society and culture. Although it is true that society and culture plays a role in a woman's self-esteem, I found that the authors spent too much time blaming men for women's problems. I am a little disappointed in the book!
Good book...but it could do without the heavy amount of feminism.
The best Self esteem book I've ever read.......2006-09-13
This book helped me fight for my self-esteem, and as another reviewer said, it's impact lasts years. It's the book I recommend to my friends struggling, like I did, for their self-esteem
It's impact will last years........2003-08-02
I picked up this book over ten years ago. It really helped me to change the lens with which I view myself. Today I recomend it to the clients I work with. I find that it helps women deal with issues of self esteem in simple yet effective manner. It has excercises that are easy to do and have great results in changing how women view themselves. I highly recomend this for any women struggling with issues of depression, anxiety and or self esteem.
An excellent guide to improving self-esteem for women........1998-04-24
This is a succint and comprehensive guide to understanding how self-esteem is developed and how it can be enhanced. The authors examine the impact of developmental, cultural and religious attitudes and of media influences on a woman's ability to accept and appreciate herself. They also offer specific, practical advice on how to address the various difficulties that arise as a result of low self-esteem. This is a valuable book, thoughtful and well-researched.

Book Description
The power of the pendulum has been valued since ancient times for its ability to discover treasure, advise in love, locate the lost, and divine the new. Pendulum Power teaches how to make and use pendulums for finding success in career and relationships, for healing, for development of intuition and increased mind power, as well as a host of other applications.
A modern popular classic, Pendulum Power was featured on the nationally syndicated television show "In Search Of."
Customer Reviews:
Nice Book.......2006-07-06
I enjoyed this book on the subject of pendulums as I found it more realistic and to the point. I've own pendulums for some time now and use them often myself so I felt what Mr. Nielsen wrote could actually offer someone some useful information.
GREAT!! Book!!.......2004-09-21
This book is a must buy for anyone interested in EVERYTHING about pendulums. It is a very nice book to read, also is very down to earth (not all science language). It covers about every aspect. I would and HAVE recommended this book to friends. Buy it you won't regret it!
A good beginers book........2004-08-04
A bit dry but lots of excellent suggestions for how to use the pendulum as well as instructions for doing so.
All you ever need to know about pendulums in a nutshell.......2002-08-26
This is a wonderful book which summarizes practically all you need to know about pendulums and dowsing, from the history to the best materials for making pendulums and all possible uses such as searching for lost items as well as making decisions (e.g. about relationships, business or which foods are good/bad for you). While not glossy, if you buy only one book about pendulums, this should be the one. This book in this or previous form(s) has been around for years - a testament to its worth.
Pendulum Power.......2001-03-21
Although Pendulum Power, by Greg Nielsen and Joseph Polansky, has been around for several years, its message is more relevant than ever in the confusing and turbulent times in which we now live.
A pendulum is simply a suspended object which is allowed to swing as dictated by the force of gravity. Pendulums are commonly used in grandfather clocks. Pendulums have another, far more ancient use, however. For thousands of years, they have been an essential part of divination. Nielsen and Polansky say "the pendulum is simply one method of many for communing consciously with our deeper being and allowing it to guide our everyday actions."
Their book introduces readers to the extensive history of the pendulum, from early divination to 20th-century medical practice. They then explain how the energy that is a part of every living organism makes the pendulum work. They say that the human nervous system "is the communication system of the body" and using a pendulum allows you to interpret the signals your "inner higher intelligence [communicates] through the nervous system."
Pendulums are very easy and inexpensive to make. A ring or button suspended from thread makes a simple pendulum. For readers wanting something more elegant, the authors provide detailed instructions for constructing a pendulum from doweling. Extensive directions are given for using pendulums. Readers will learn what kinds of questions to ask, and how to interpret the various movements of the pendulum. Nielsen and Polansky provide examples of how pendulums have been used to find lost objects, choose a career or change jobs, select a healthy diet based on personal needs, and aid in other types of decision making.
Pendulums are also used in healing. Anyone trying to determine the best decision or course of action, based on their personal needs, will find the techniques provided in Pendulum Power useful and enlightening.
Book Description
This no-nonsense, compassionate guide explores misguided life strategies that can sabotage happiness and fulfillment. Using practical examples from everyday lives, the authors show us how to replace feelings of chronic dissatisfaction with a sense of contentment and fulfillment.
Customer Reviews:
Illuminating, insightful and practical.......2005-12-01
I'm not usually keen on self-help books because I find that they tend to repeat themselves, use extensive anecdotal evidence or offer nothing but psychobabble. This one is different.
The authors really understand human nature. They go beyond the surface and ask us to pose difficult questions to ourselves about why we repeat certain behaviors or what is causing us to be unfulfilled at work and relationships, and in other areas of our life.
The book covers a wide range of territory and is well worth reading, especially if one takes the time to do the exercises and think about what might be causing him or her to be stuck and routinely unable to feel satisfied.
My only complaint would be that there was a little too much emphasis placed on parenting and early childhood experiences. Not everyone is damaged in childhood. Other life events can occur in adulthood that can be traumatic and can alter one's self image and self-esteem.
Other than that, this is a thoroughly enjoyable and insightful read.
Sigrid Macdonald
Author of D'Amour Road
The key word in the subtitle is DO.......1998-08-29
Nine core issues are discussed as underlying chronic discontent or "never enough" thinking. The authors are both therapists and present the issues as questions commonly asked by their clients. "Why do I always feel like something is missing?" is shown to be a search for self. "Why don't I follow through on my dreams?" can mask the search for purpose. "Why is it that nothing makes me happy for long?" calls for a search for validation. The search for trust lies behind the question "Why can't I just relax?", and the search for competence lurks beneath "Why am I so bored and restless?" "Why can't I find the right person?" translates to the search for a mirror. "Why do I always end up getting less than I give?" calls for a search for control. The search for identity underlies "Why can't I stop comparing myself to other people"? The last core issue is the search for safety, or "Why do I always want the one thing I can't have?" Guidelines for change and growth are discussed throughout each chapter, and the closing chapters pull together ideas so that satisfaction with one's life is seen as an achievable goal. Lots of thought-provoking ideas as well as Prescriptions for Change, and Thoughts & Questions given for each of the nine core issues.
Book Description
For over 200 years in African-American churches throughout the country, gospel and spiritual music have offered solace and been a source of celebration, leaving a mark not only on the Christian world, but on popular music as well. Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit contains the lyrics and music of 101 of the most widely known and cherished of these pieces, ranging from heartring spirituals sung during slave times (Steal Away; Swing Low, Sweet Chariot) to songs of unity from the civil rights movement and contemporary times (We Shall Overcome, I'll Fly Away). The book also presents a biography of each composer and the history of the evolution of each song, examining the role it played in enabling African-Americans to develop the strength to carry on in the face of adversity. An important historical document as well as an inspirational gift, the book captures the rich connections between song and experience as no other volume does.
Customer Reviews:
More Devotional than Academic..........2007-04-09
This is a good book for the worshipper who wants devotions or to know the back story behind their favorite hymns. And the author's piano/vocal arrangements are for the most part playable and error-free.
That being said, this is a selective not a comprehensive collection of Gospel Music. I found myself wondering "is this song in here?" looking and being disappointed that it was not included. Especially the older Spirituals (out-of-copyright). There should have been more of these, instead of the traditional Hymn section, which is duplicated in many Hymnals. If the Hymns had to be kept, it would have been instructive to see the original and the "gospelfied" versions in print, side-by-side. That and the lack of footnotes and skimpy historical info (definitely more on the appropiation of Spirituals in the Civil-Rights era and the controversy concerning Dorsey's Blues-Gospel style in the 1930's-40's) make this book more for the casual reader than a resource for the serious student of the genre.
The newer Gospel and Contemporary songs are a nice touch, although I wondered at putting the copyright and publisher information in the back of the book.
Also a spiral binding would be good for those who wish to play the music...
Ephesians 5:19 Comes to Life.......2007-04-03
In Ephesians 5:19, the Apostle Paul urges Christians to "speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in our heart to the Lord." Author Gwendolin Sims Warren follows this comprehensive arrangement in "Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit."
For Christians growing up in Church over the past half century, she answers the question, "I wonder about the history of the composition of this song . . ." Warren's contextualizing of these favorites provides an emotionally and spiritually moving interpretation and celebration of these songs that deepens their impact on the hearers.
Reviewer: Bob Kellemen, Ph.D., is the author of Beyond the Suffering: Embracing the Legacy of African American Soul Care and Spiritual Direction, Soul Physicians: A Theology of Soul Care And Spiritual Direction, and Spiritual Friends: A Methodology of Soul Care And Spiritual Direction.
Excellent Collection; First-rate Arrangements.......2006-05-04
In this collection, Ms. Warren presents straightforward and faithful arrangements of 101 psalms, gospel hymns, and spirituals. She relates brief histories of the songs and places them in the context of her Christian faith and experience.
Generously, Ms. Warren includes a couple of dozen Euro-American hymns and presents them in a similar context. Undoubtedly, these hymns stand in relation to and have even influenced some twentieth century black composers.
But it is the presentation of the songs from the Afican-American tradition that is most important here. The Euro-American hymns aside, this is a marvellous introduction to black American spirituals and hymnody.
I agree with another reviewer that this is a wonderful work to browse at random, but it is also rewarding to sit down and read it through. As you please.
Either way, when you come to the end of the book, if you've got a soul it will thirst for more...
I hope you'll be able to satisfy some of that thirst by hearing some of this music sung live by a choir and congregation that knows its business. Even if you're not a Christian, you may still find it rewarding to experience this aspect of Christianity first-hand.
After all, you've already heard this music many times before. It is the cornerstone for American blues, jazz, soul, and rock 'n' roll. It began in Africa, survived the Middle Passage, grew up fast in hard times in the American South, and lived to tell the tale. It's been around the world and back a million times.
And, speaking on behalf of the planet, the world can't wait to see where this music takes us next.
Wonderful.......2001-09-15
This is a splendid book, written in an personal, informed, deeply intelligent and moving way by a wonderful woman. It is a perfect resource for those who want to know the history and inspiration of the songs it contains, which are, by themselves, inspired and inspiring.
Marvelous details of the songs that keep us grounded!!.......1998-10-29
The book is absolutely marvelous. It is a reminder of the songs that I learned as a child that still are a tradition in the African-American Church. It is wonderful to know that I have an additional resource for preaching and teaching. I have chosen to share this with many members of our congregation. There are so many more songs that could have been used, but Ms. Warren seems to have picked the absolute best. God's richest blessings to you!!!

Awesome book!.......2002-08-27
I really love this book. I've been trying to live a drug free life, but the stress and pressures I feel sometimes make me think that it would be easier if I just started drinking beer and smoking weed like everyone else does. But after reading this book and incorporating some of the exercises into my life, I've found it easier to stay away from drugs. This guy has a great sense of humor and really seems to understand kids. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a way to releive stress without using drugs. Thanks, Alex. You rock!
The Ultimate Health Book For Intelligent Young People.......2000-08-29
It's all here - what every teen and young adult needs to know about how to feel really well and really good about themselves. On the premise that human beings like to get high, and that getting high is good, Dr. Packer's newest book tells us how to do it - without relying on alcohol, drugs or other substances. Written and illustrated in an engagingly contemporary way, "Highs" provides the reader with fresh, usable insights on such matters as serenity, nutrition, exercise, and relationships. Organized in three sections and 11 well- outlined chapters, it is possible - perhaps even recommended - that the reader turn to an area of particular interest first. Literate, witty, insightful, and irreverent where it should be, "Highs" is highly recommended to young people and parents alike.
Very Highly Recommended........2000-06-06
In Highs!, Alex Packer presents more than one hundred and fifty ways for teenagers and young adults to feel good, really good, without resorting to alcohol or other drugs. Packer's detailed suggestions are divided into "Serenity Highs" (meditation, T'ai Chi Chuan, Yoga); "Physical and Sensuous Highs" (sports, relaxation exercises, food, massage); "Social, Spiritual, and Creative Highs" (nature, fasting, roleplaying games, music, dance, art). An especially recommended compendium of ideas and suggestions for today's youth seeking to avoid the pitfalls of alcohol consumptions and substance abuse in their personal and peer group recreational activities, Highs! is enhanced for teen and young adult readers with a bibliography, as well as suggestions for additional readings and resources.
An Excellent Read!.......2000-04-28
I highly recomend this book to readers of all ages. Not only is it one of the funniest books i have ever read, it also contains many good methods to sleep better, relax, and most importantly, have fun. The book is true to its title, there are many safe and healthy ways to get a rush of adrenaline, or, just the opposite. There are several full chapters and several partial chapers dedicated to learning how to reduce stress, which is definitly something that most of us need. Another feature of this book is that it tricks kids into learning new things and encouraging a good life style without the feeling of a textbook. I would highly recomend this book to anyone looking for a good, educational, fun, and most of all, entertaining read.
Where Was This Book When I Was A Teen?.......2000-04-07
Alex Packer has written a funny, educational, and comprehensive book on alternatives to getting high with alcohol or other drugs. The book includes examples of alternative highs from teenagers along with humorous illustrations and up-to-date links to websites. I hadn't realized how many non-chemical alternatives there were to getting high. I can't wait to pass this book on to my teenage nephew. I only wish such a book had been available when I was his age!
Book Description
This realistic guide to living and working with a sense of pleasure and empowerment stresses taking responsibility for feelings, doing things now that will fill an emotional reservoir for later use, reacting to emotionally challenging situations in balanced ways, and making choices to effectively deal with challenges as they arise. A five-step Emotional Discipline process helps readers identify the cause of emotional upset; focus on their body to analyze what they are feeling; focus on their mind, identifying thoughts and the beliefs that are driving them; and choose and apply an emotional discipline strategy. The book's 25 tactics reinforce the concept that a satisfying, energetic life depends on being able to make emotional choices.

Useful guidelines for living in a stressful world.......2003-08-14
Having read Dr. Manz's other works and having used his Mastering Self-Leadership book (co-authored with Dr. Christopher Neck) in my university classes, I was familiar with his philosphies and approaches to handling challenges in life. However, the timing for me in reading this book could not have come at a better time. The theme of Emotional Discipline is that we can manage our emotions to bring rewards and reduce stress even in the most dire of circumstances. I had brought the book to read on my plane ride after a week long national academic conference. Before boarding the plane, however, I had just endured a grueling 1 1/2 hour wait in a security line before I could even enter my plane's gate in Seattle. While in line, I brought attention to airport workers that my departure time was drawing near, and asked if I could be sped through line to get to my plane. I was told that my airline would come out and bring their customers through when the departure time drew near. Well, Southwest and Continental airlines came out to help their customers, but my airline (heck, I'll tell you who it was--Delta) did not. Finally, after getting to the security check, I was pulled out of line for inspection. It was 12:50 p.m. when this happened, and my flight was to leave at 12:55 p.m. Finally, I made it to my gate, and the airline workers informed me that they almost left without me. Once aboard the plane, I asked the attendants why they had not sent anyone out to help their customers like the other airlines. Their answer was it wasn't their responsibility, and that it was my fault for almost missing the plane. I don't mind waiting on a plane due to delays, but being blamed as a customer for an organization's bureaucratic failings doesn't go over well with me. So after almost missing my plane, my adrenaline and anger soaring, and the poor service of the flight attendants, I thought I'd unwind by watching the movie on the flight, which turned out to be--you guessed it--"Anger Management" with Adam Sandler. The opening scene covers Mr. Sandler having a problem with an airline attendant, which leads to his future problems. Hitting too close to home at this point, I decided to pull out Dr. Manz's book and read it, hoping to relax a little from the building tension of the trip. And I'm glad I did, because the book provides a framework and guidelines for handling dilemmas as I had just endured.
The book opens with explanations and research discussing the impact emotions have on a person's body, mind, and spirit, and, just as importantly, the interaction of all these factors. While this is needed in order to substantiate and support what was to come later in the book, the part I found most enjoyable was the 25 strategies a person can use in having a more satisfying life. The strategies are broken into mind, body, and spirit, and Dr. Manz offers enough strategies that the reader can pick and choose which serve that person's individual needs, purposes, and personality. The strategies I found particularly interesting were on "Directing Your Inner Theatre" (how to view a situation from a more objective perspective) and "Other Mind-Centered Emotional Discipline Choices" (a list of specific practices and exercises for gaining emotional balance that can be adapted to your own personal needs). There were also interesting examples for consideration to be worked into your life, such as baroque music and tai chi. Where the strategies are particularly useful are in the sources and examples cited throughout the book, so that the reader has guidance in where to go should they want to read further on that subject. Another bonus of the book is the inspiring and educational quotes throughout the book. The book is worth its price alone for these informative statements from such renowned thinkers as Blaise Pascal, Thomas Merton, and George Bernard Shaw. I can see myself pulling this book off my shelf when faced with stressful situations in the future. I was able to read the book on my aforementioned 4 hour flight, and by the time I arrived in Dallas I was feeling much more relaxed and calm after absorbing the perspectives in the book. It is a very satisfying book with useful strategies that I will encourage my friends and colleagues to read.
Excellent book.......2003-05-20
I highly recommend "Emotional Discipline" by Dr. Charles Manz if you are looking for a way to improve the quality of your life. Emotional Discipline offers a step-by-step process and a toolbox of strategies to help you choose how you feel-one of the most important ways through which we experience life. Through a variety of mediums and examples, Dr. Manz illustrates innovative and time-tested strategies that address the mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Manz doesn't sugar coat things; he acknowledges that applying emotional discipline isn't always an easy process. Making better emotional discipline choices requires work and persistence-however the rewards of a better life and better relationships are well worth the effort.
I highly recommend Emotional Discipline.
