Book Description
Told in the words of his musical accomplices, fellow–travelers, friends, and lovers, "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" is an intimate and unusual biography of fabled singer–songwriter Warren Zevon, the musical force behind such dark, witty rock–and–roll classics as "Werewolves of London" and "Roland, the Headless Thompson Gunner."
Narrated by Crystal Zevon, Zevon's former (and only) wife, it draws on interviews with Jackson Browne, Tom Petty, Emmylou Harris, Linda Rondstadt, Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham, the Everly Brothers, and a host of other denizens of Southern California's influential rock scene to tell the story of the original "Excitable Boy": literary hoodlum, OCD sufferer, brilliant songwriter, and rock–and–roll icon.
Customer Reviews:
Thanks Crystal for Painting a Complete Portrait of Warren.......2007-09-21
I read this book in 4 days, and I can't remember the last book I read. Crystal Zevon does a wonderful job of conveying Warren's life and times. As well as personal insights, there are points of view from many others, including Warren. I really feel like I got the full picture by reading several versions of the same event. I cursed, I laughed, I cried and at one point I declared "Warren's a God". Of course Warren was a human like the rest of us. He just happened to be a human who was a great song writer and entertainer. Enjoy Crystal's book and Enjoy Every Sandwich.
Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll.......2007-09-12
with heavy emphasis on the sex and drugs. If you're looking for some insight as to what went on in the studio, how Warren's songs were constructed, details behind each album....forget it. If you want to learn all about Zevon's personal life, the drug addiction (and his subsequent withdrawal), his rabid sex addiction, the women (verbally, mentally and sometimes physically abused by Zevon) who seemed to never go away...what IS it with groupies, anyway?...this is the book for you. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. And just when you think he's straightened his life out by kicking drugs and alcohol, the seemingly uncontrollable sex addiction takes over. Fascinating stuff, though I probably won't play a Zevon album for awhile. Sometimes the distant image of a favorite rock star is best left that way.
The Life and Times of an 'Excitable Boy'..........2007-09-11
Sometimes its' hard to find out the truth about your heroes. You'll read some un-authorized biography of a celebrity and half way through you'll put the book down and realize it's nothing more than a tell-all, hatchet job. You tell yourself, "I liked this person's public persona, enjoyed what they contributed to our culture and I really don't want to know these kind of facts about their personal life. In other words you really didn't want know that your heroes could be such as*h*les. It sort of ruins it for you.
Crytal Zevon's biography of her ex-husband, rocker/singer/songwriter, Warren Zevon, "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Dirty Life and Times of Warren Zevon" is an aptly titled book, which is the exception to this notion. It is an oral history using the voices of the late (Warren died of cancer in 2003) rocker's friends, family, lovers, collegues and musical peers to chronicle both his life and career.
Make no mistake about it, this book dishes the dirt and describes in detail, some of the more horrible aspects of Zevon's life, which included harrowing battles with alcoholism and the disease, OCD. It shows a man who had an almost Jekyll & Hyde personality. One moment he could be loving, kind...your best friend. The next moment he could be cold, callus and dismissive, ready to cut you out of his life over the smallest things. But despite these apects of his personality, It dosn't come across as a bitter tell-all. You can tell, that the people who contributed to this book really loved and cared about this guy, despite his many faults. In the end the book paints an intimate, moving portrait of a complex man, who was literally a musical genuis in his artistic, professional life, yet, led a very messy, dysfunctional, personal life. The vibe I get from reading this book is that he will be dearly missed by a lot of people, who were important to him.
There are a lot of great quotes in this book, but my favorite comes from Warren himself. His ex-wife, Crystal quotes a conversation she had with him towards the end of his life about the writing of this book in which Warren said the following, "You are my witness. The story is yours. But you gotta promise, you'll tell 'em the whole truth, even the awful, ugly parts. Cuz, that is the guy who wrote them excitable songs". That just about says it all...
If you're interested in a behind the scenes look- get it!.......2007-09-04
I read this is 24 hours. I thought the writing style was very enjoyable and the nitty gritty details were out there for all to see (as it seems Warren wanted it). I think my favorite biography is Belushi by Judy Belushi Pisano but this is a close second.
Great Book!.......2007-09-03
Regardless of Warren Zevon's character flaws and various addictions, this is a great portrait of a talented musician. If you're a Warren Zevon fan, it is a must read. I disagree with reviewers who claim this book is swayed by Crystal Zevon's need for revenge. Rather, I see this book as an undeniable expression of her love for him, as a person, musician, former husband, and father of her daughter. She did an admirable job organizing and compiling all the available data concerning his personal and professional life. I wish her much success with this book and any future writing endeavors. She deserves it!

The leading guide to recorded jazz, now extensively revised
Music fans have been turning to this established reference through seven editions as a source of intelligent and insightful criticism. Fully updated to incorporate thousands of additional recordings, the eighth edition features artist biographies, detailed recording information with labels and catalog numbers, reliable and authoritative ratings, the authors' personal selection of the essential recordings for every collection, an index of artists, and more.
Customer Reviews:
Exhaustive Reference, Frustrating to use.......2007-09-22
This is an incredible reference, It just plain has a ton of stuff in here. It covers almost everyone in great detail and is a valuable part of my jazz library.
but, the book is frustrating to use. I just hate the rating system, it needs something better. Maybe 10 stars instead or something. Nearly everything in here is either 3, 3 1/2 or 4 stars and not everything is the same. Of the many titles rated 4 stars there are radical differences between them. It's just not a very good system.
that's about all I can say - it's the best thing out there that I know of but if you want a more comprehensive reference it is just not realistic to expect it all in one book. This is as much as you can get into a book pretty much. It's better to get several different ones and then you'll have a good idea.
in requiem.......2007-09-07
Various editions of this book has been my guide to jazz for over 10 years and in some funny way I feel like I know the authors personally. Of course, I don't but it was no less sad to hear that Richard Cook died of cancer a week ago at the not very old age of 50. Jazz and jazz lovers have lost a great friend and promoter. My sentiments to all who did know him.
Great for in-print stuff, but leaves out older stuff.......2007-07-27
This works great when you're buying today's music. But to keep the size manageable 1,500+ pages, they leave out albums when they go out of print. That lessens its value when trying to see how older releases hold up in the scheme of things.
Great but an obvious British Bias.......2007-06-18
Every applause lavished on this guide by other reviewers is right on the mark. It is indispensable. However, the British bias is often irritating. When a good 10% of all top marks for individual CDs go to recordings by British jazz players and when British saxophonist Evan Parker gets more top marks for his records than Charlie Parker, you know that the reviewers are a more than tad chauvinistic, to say the least.
Jazz is African.......2007-05-07
Jazz is African. Jazz music comes from a place -an exclusive reality marked by poverty and anti bourgeoise values. It is unfortunate that all the jazz festivals and audiences are bourgeois. Their commercial values will never be able to purchase jazz-African. They will only understand the commericial values and not the true essence of Jazz- African music. For Africans, music has always been an expression of our exclusive and dire reality. Caucasians will never understand it because it is simply not thier reality of commercialism, debauchery and intemperance. long live non bourgeois, non commercial African jazz.

Useful but not complete .......2007-08-19
I started this book with very minimum mixing knowledge. This book definetely changed the way i listen to music. I could get "something" out of pieces i would have otherwise discarded coz i didnt know the mixing techniques. I take away 2 stars coz the book assumes you know a few technical terms like compressors etc.,.At the same time it is very basic for ppl who know the basics. So its sort of confusing what is the level of skill that is expected from the reader. I take away another star coz of repitition of some points again n again in different chapters. Its a gud read if u can grab the book from a library.
Strictly for Beginners Only.......2007-08-13
Very disappointing. The author skims over processors, hardware, techniques and meaningful, real world advice, and offers pages of trite advice that can be easily found, for free, online. Many pages are devoted to setting up tape machines, creating charts for mix sessions, demagnetization and cleaning of tape heads and other dated information that probably wouldn't be relevant to most project studio engineers using DAWs.
Finally, the audio and video examples contained on the companion DVD just don't sound very good. If a book and DVD purports to advise fledgling engineers on mixing techniques, at least use material that sounds well mixed and creative rather than stale retreads of 80's MOR.
The mixing tips alone are well worth the value........2007-07-21
i actually haven't even finished the book yet. but the first 200 pages have expanded my concepts of mixing dimensions, effects, and equalization in a big way. analog and digital recording set ups are both addressed throughout. this book gives good tips and techniques without a lot of heavy reading. its written plainly and is very easy to understand. the included dvd supports articles in the readings with audio and visual examples. but don't let that be a huge influence on your purchase. the actual text itself is where the bulk of the information is so don't expect too much from the dvd. i am fairly new to the recording world, and even though this won't be the last book you'll ever have to buy on the subject, i would highly recommend it for beginner-intermediate level.
Want to do it on your own? New/Intermediate to Music? Buy this book.......2007-06-23
Yo, I'm a rapper from DC and decided I want to learn how to produce a song from begining to end. In the end, its amazing how intuitive mixing SHOULD be. This book lays it out so you actually start to THINK like a professional sound engineer. I'm looking forward to other SMART/Gibson books already!
Not as the Title this book is more extensive.......2007-05-29
This book dont teach only Mix/Mastering.
Basic types to works with pro audio, to learn Mix/Mastering this book is not the best choice. You will need more books.
Book Description
This up-to-date book comprehensively covers all aspects of speech and music sound reinforcement. It is roughly divided into four sections: Section 1 provides the tutorial fundamentals that all audio engineers will need, discussing subjects such as fundamentals of acoustics, psychoacoustics, basic electrical theory and digital processing. Section 2 deals with the fundamental classes of hardware that the modern engineer will use, such as loudspeaker systems and components, microphones, mixers, amplifiers and signal processors. Special attention is given to digital techniques for system control and to audio signal analysis. Section 3 deals with the basics of system design, from concept to final realization. It covers topics such as basic system type and speech intelligibility, site survey, user needs analysis and project management. Section 4 discusses individual design areas, such as sports facilities, large-scale tour sound systems, high-level music playback, systems for the theater, religious facilities, and other meeting spaces. The book is written in an accessible style, but does not lack for ample amounts of technical information. It is truly a book for the 21st century! The Senior Director of Product Development and Application for JBL Professional, John Eargle is the author of The Handbook of Recording Engineering, The Microphone Book, Handbook of Sound System Design, Electroacoustical Reference Data, Music, Sound and Technology and The Loudspeaker Handbook. A 2000 Grammy Award-winner for Best Classical Engineering, Mr. Eargle is an honorary member and past national president of the Audio Engineering Society, a faculty-member of the Aspen Audio Recording Institute, and a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Customer Reviews:
The Best Audio Book.......2007-05-14
The knowledge I learned from this book is incomparable.
All audio application was well explained and easily understood.
Theory is least with more on understanding the technicalities on a layman's term.
I recommend this book for all audio enthusiasts.
Excellent detailed overview of sound engineering.......2005-08-01
Foreman and Eargle's book on audio engineering provides an excellent introduction to the vast field, especially for an amateur sound engineer such as myself. The material is laid out in several thorough sections, beginning with the fundamentals of sound and acoustics, moving to descriptions of equipment, and finally practical applications and sound system design. The book progresses smoothly and logically.
The material does get rather technical at times and there are quite a few formulas and graphs, however the text provides context for them very well. If the reader follows the text carefully, he should be able to readily understand what is being described. The authors do an excellent job conveying so much information to the reader.
(...)
I certainly recommend this title to anyone interested in learning the details of how large and elaborate sound systems work, especially anyone considering a career in the field. Eargle and Foreman have done a splendid job with this book.
A compilation.......2002-10-21
A compilation
Despite the editorial claim that" Audio engineering... is truly a book for the 21st century", I found it to be little more than a compilation drawn from other books - especially the classic Yamaha "Sound Reinforcement handbook" by Gary Davis and the "Master Handbook of Acoustics". In all fairness, one must admit that it is a difficult task to bring something new in a wake of the abovementioned standard works; nonetheless my expectations were high since the book under consideration bears the JBL name.
To begin with, it was unclear which audience the authors were targeting: the book is too general to be of any value to the sound professional while lacking sufficient descriptive detail to be useful for the beginner. The tone of the text sometimes also borters on the frivolous. For instance, on page 21 (chapter "Sound Attenuation with Distance Indoors") one finds "A good experiment is to have a friend stand in a fixed position in a moderately live room and talk in a clear voice". What should "a moderately live room" mean to a novice? A sound pro, on the other hand, will most likely have different definitions for what constitutes a "live" room. On the same page, a paragraph on "Standing Waves in Small Rooms" declares: "A standing wave may be set up between two parallel walls when there is a sound source located between them". The book would benefit if authors were to clarify what they mean by "set up", or if they were to provide some kind of working definition, such as "Standing waves are non-traveling vibrations of certain wavelength and frequency which occur in a medium of a whose size controls their wavelengths. It is amateurish how lightly the authors deal with fundamental issues in sound engineering!
In chapter 2 "Psychoacoustics - how we hear" there is another example of questionable validity under the JBL imprimatur: "Our ears do not always match our measuring instruments". If one follows this "logic", one could assume that "our eyes do not always match our measuring instruments" or "our feet to not always match our measuring instruments", and so on.
On page 214, in discussing with "Acoustic Gain, Needed Acoustic Gain and Feedback", the reader is advised to: "Measure the speech level at the farthest listener with the sound system turned off. Then, measure it again with the sound system turned on". Precisely how one is supposed to measure the "speech level at the farthest listener" with the "sound system turned off"? And where on the "farthest listener's' body should the measurement be taken?
On page 120 these two JBL engineers offer us a new term: "Mutual coupling". From the text one could deduce that authors actually referring to an acoustical coupling, which is by definition "mutual". (From Miriam Webster dictionary: MUTUAL: directed by each toward the other or the others; shared in common
COUPLING: the act of bringing or coming together)
There is a great deal in this book that is either unclear or of little value.
My advice to a prospective reader would be to buy Yamaha handbook instead or, for more details, get the unsurpassed Alton Everest's classic.
Book Description
The stylish, exuberant, and remarkably sweet confession of one of the most famous groupies of the 1960s and 70s is back in print in this new edition that includes an afterword on the author's last 15 years of adventures. As soon as she graduated from high school, Pamela Des Barres headed for the Sunset Strip, where she knocked on rock stars' backstage doors and immersed herself in the drugs, danger, and ecstasy of the freewheeling 1960s. Over the next 10 years she had affairs with Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, Keith Moon, Waylon Jennings, Chris Hillman, Noel Redding, and Jim Morrison, among others. She traveled with Led Zeppelin; lived in sin with Don Johnson; turned down a date with Elvis Presley; and was close friends with Robert Plant, Gram Parsons, Ray Davies, and Frank Zappa. As a member of the GTO's, a girl group masterminded by Frank Zappa, she was in the thick of the most revolutionary renaissance in the history of modern popular music. Warm, witty, and sexy, this kiss-and-tell–all stands out as the perfect chronicle of one of rock 'n' roll's most thrilling eras.
Customer Reviews:
Lots of fun.......2007-08-24
I had always known who Pamela Des Barres was, one of the most notorious groupies / hangers on in rock history. I finally read her book a few years ago, giving her confessions of life in the fast lane. As a woman who has also loved her rock gods, I aspired to be like her even when I didn't know the whole story. She was the ideal. Her book, however, paints a story that I didn't really know about until much later. Plus, thanks to some insights from a friend who was also there, I saw some other things as well.
Pamela was a southern California gal who had big dreams, which were to have fun and be famous. Although it would be years before the term "boy band", she like The Beatles and decked herself out in full Beatles items. As it was the 60s, she naturally went into the new hippie culture which would morph into the rock culture. From there, she would meet several influential people, even Frank Zappa who was going to make her into a star with his girl group, The GTOs. And naturally, she would travel the world, meet lots of rock stars, and sleep with them. I was surprised to hear her say "Back in those days it was so easy, you just called the venue and asked for passes and you got them." What?! Was it really? Times were much simplier back then.
She tells anecdote after anecdote of the times she did this, met that person, or slept with this guy. After a while it could be a little overwhelming. Was her life really a non stop party night after night? It couldn't have been. I take into account that when people get together and tell their mad rock n' roll stories, their vanity comes out and they embellish things. How much is truth and how much is fiction? We'll never know for sure. I have been lucky enough to learn this from a friend who was also part of Pamela's scene, as well as a dear friend from The Dead Boys. Still, Pamela's book is a lot of fun. It gives all us girls in the scene, even all these years later, hope that we too can live the high life. She inspired me to chase after bands. Pamela said that Gloria Steinem can go jump in the lake, because she wanted to sleep with rock stars and she got to do it. Good for her. And good for her inspiration.
Incredibly Well Written, Amazing Stories w/ Rock's Greatest Legends .......2007-07-29
To say I devoured this bio is an understatement. "Miss P." writes with such amazing clarity and detail that I found myself experiencing the feelings SHE had experienced, especially when it came to JP.
This book gripped me from the first word. The writing style is outstanding, the experiences recounted range from the heights of joy to the depths of despair, and all are firsthand experiences with the people who MADE rock and roll from the 1960's.
There's a new Prelude to this book where Pamela expresses her surprise about "uptight" people judging her. After reading her book, I not only empathized with her, I wanted to be her friend.
If you are major into Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, or The Rolling Stones, along with the unforgettable legends who created rock and roll, you will LOVE this book. If you're uptight, "prim and proper" or judgmental, buy "The Sound of Music" DVD instead.
If you've loved rocks best legends, have ever met them, or wished you could, Pamela will bring you through her own fascinating and deeply touching experiences.
Keep rockin' Miss P. You're an outstanding writer! (This book would make a great movie!)

Great read.......2007-07-16
When I first heard of Miss Pamela when I was 12 years old, I wanted to be her. Her story is compelling and her experience was amazing. What this book really does for me is fill in the blank of the emotion behind the music and their scene. Miss Pamela has an ability to love and an unwillingness to judge that I wish I possessed. A great read!!
One woman's journey through rock music... .......2007-07-16
I grew up in the 70's, about a decade behind Ms. Des Barres, and found her book to not only be a sincere look at her emotional journey, but a fascinating perspective on the music scene during a time when I was still pretty much in elementary school.
Miss Pamela's writing style kept me interested and entertained, while her journal notes added insights into the workings of her mind and heart during this long and winding odyssey. A fun read, but with more depth than I expected.
Confessions of a Fan.......2007-07-08
This was an amazing book--very Almost Famous-esque. I highly recommend it. It's a fun read for those interested in the lives of rockstars and the people who surrounded them.

Hey, little ant down in the crack
Can you hear me? Can you talk back?
See my shoe, can you see that?
Well now it's gonna squish you flat! So begins a conversation between a young boy and the ant trembling in the shadow of his sneaker. This playful story brings up questions about the ethics and peer pressure, encouraging the very youngest citizens to decide for themselves: to squish...or not to squish?!
Customer Reviews:
I loved it but..........2007-08-02
I loved this book and the intention the author had to encourage children to consider the moral of the story. Also for a children's book it is well written with amusing rhymes. The kids also loved hearing this story. The only problem was this - they got absolutely the wrong message from it!
The book presents two arguments - the ant pleading for its life, and the boy who questions the value of the ant's life. But the author wrote the boy's side of the story so pleasingly that my kids far more enjoyed siding with the boy than with the ant, despite explanation, to my complete despair! My young listeners were quite young, ages 2-3, so perhaps this book would be better for a slightly older child.
great story.......2007-05-16
This is the best book! I use it in my Kindergarten classroom when we do a thematic unit on bugs. We act out the story then talk about the ending.
Teaches Empathy.......2006-11-30
I am a 3rd grade teacher, and I use this book in my classroom to teach about bullying, peer pressure (the boy's friends are encouraging him to squish the ant), and empathy. My students love it! I wish I could find a poster of the page where the ant is looming over the boy and asking "If you were me, and I were you, what would you want me to do?" What an incredible lesson for kids! The best part is that the book ends with the shoe looming over the ant and leaves the ending up to the reader. Kids love writing (or just inventing) their own endings! GREAT BOOK!
Hey, Little Ant.......2006-01-12
This is an excellent book about an ant who has to convince a boy why he should not squish him with his shoe. It sends a wonderful message to children that you should treat others how you would want to be treated. This rhyming text is very comical to read and the illustrations are excellent. It is a wonderful book for elementary students!
hey little ant.......2002-01-12
This wonderful book gives the reader a great feeling for this poor ant . This little ant has to negotiate for his life!! The only way to make the kid with the big shoe know how it feels to be squished is to turn the tables and make him realize what it feels like to be under an Ants' foot. This book is a must have. It teaches compassion, negotiation, and how to see the world through someonelses eyes.

This is a good one but is not as clear & comprehensive as "Everything You Need To Know About The Music Business" (Donald Passman)
Add it to the library.......2006-07-03
I highly recommend this book to gain greater insights in the Music business or any business. It was a great buy along with a couple of manuals I purchased from Musicbrains.net entitled the Indie label Kit.
Excellent.......2006-05-19
The hardships of surviving on the music industry can be easily compare with the jungle, where nothings is what it seems and danger lurks around every corner. This book is a guide that explains all the dangerous species and all the hazardous area, but also revealing the safe zones and undisputable truths about a world dominated by the strong ones. A good book with great references that has and will be appreciated by many.
A good book........2006-05-16
I suggest adding this book to your collection. It is nearly bursting with legal issues and information about the music industry. However at times the information seems a little inaccessible. In addition to this book I would like to suggest "Ty Cohen's Secrets to Making Money in the Music Industry (3-Piece Mega Audio CD Set)". These 2 products together are all you'll ever need!
What you dont know may hurt you!.......2006-05-15
If you are a new person entering the music industry with no idea on how things work, but are just a good singer, than i suggest this book as your new bible. with all the secrets, lies, and myths exposed you will now what to do when greedy A&R's tell you to sign certian papers. for some more information on this topic i suggest taking a peek at the book "101 Music Business Contracts - Updated Edition - Preprinted Binder / CD-ROM set containing over 100 contracts and agreements for recording artist, musicians, ... industry. Entertainment law at it's best!",by ty cohen, for all of its excellent pages!

Customer Reviews:
save yourself the trouble and buy another title.......2007-10-03
This is the type of book you pick up at your local retailer and it looks really good - color photos, layout,, quality paper etc. After you use the book for a while you realize something's not in the index that should be. Later that day you realize tons of things are missing and then you find items in the text (not indexed) that are not even fully explained. Today I tried to find info about midi sync, ticks and samples, basic items like how to use cut and copy. It's just not there. Terms found in the menus on the sceen should all be in the index, in my humble opinion. I bought this book to learn PT and decide whether or not to go with a Digidesign or M-Audio system. On a one to ten scale for a "missing manual" I'd give it a 2. In addition it is not laid out very well. I would think a sensible way to organize a book like this would be to set it up through the various steps of doing a project and then putting some of the finer details later. This book dwells on details in some sections but tells almost nothing about some of the simpler tasks.
Good Book.......2007-08-14
This book is informative and easy for the beginner to follow. The flow is logical and an easy straight forward read. The only drawback is the index of the book. More information should be referenced in the index instead of the reader having to skim to find key points. But all in all a good reference tool to use Pro Tools......
Not for beginners.......2007-07-04
I'm new to digital audio, so of course to Pro Tools. I purchased this book as an introductory handbook and had to return it. I found it assumed knowledge I did not have and left a lot unexplained. The explanations that were present were good, but I found it confusing that the discussion might refer to an illustration as much as 3 pages earlier. If I had a basic grounding in Pro Tools I might have found this helpful but as a beginner it was beyond me.
Does The Job But..........2007-02-19
I am a beginner at home recording so, one must temper my review with that knowledge. Overall Pro-Tools works as advertised. It is robust and necessarily complex.
I have issues with the record mode failing intermittently and I cannot get my external reverb unit to work with Pro-Tools. I had everything working fine until I upgraded to 7.3. Now I have these problems. I will be in touch with Tech Support to try and resolve my problems.
I do have to give a cheer out to Digidesign's Tech Support. When I have contacted them they have been very helpful and willing to explain to a beginner how things work and walk me through the repair. My negative is that is take 20-30 minutes on hol;d before they answer. That is annoying.
I would certainly recommend Pro-Tools to anyone considering home recording software. Perhaps if I was more experienced, I would not be having these problems.
Excellent Pro Tools 7 LE Book !.......2007-01-31
This book is very informative. Many pictures of actual screen shots. First it goes through the various Digidesign hardware. Then into Pro Tools itself. I am learning alot. It is so much more thorough than the instruction manual that came with my MBox 2. If you are new to Pro Tools 7 LE and can buy only 1 book, then this is the book to get. You'll be very pleased.
