Hard Encouragement.......2007-09-28
The message is radical, but very much in keeping with how Jesus taught us to live. As I read this I felt encouraged by the stories of how everyday people are following in the ways everlasting.
Spectacular.......2007-09-24
This book is life changing. Read it if you deeply desire a new way of life and are tired of seeing dilution of the church and it's foundation take place.
Irresistible.......2007-09-03
This book knocked me on my but. I don't agree with everything Shane says, but this book is an eye opener. Just when I thought I had it all together, this young man challenges the way I live my faith. The book is not for wimps.
I thought I was the only one who thought this way.......2007-08-29
I'm glad to know that I'm not.
This book points out a lot of biblical truths that we seem to have forgotten or blatantly ignored. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. There were some minor things that I disagreed with, and many things that I'm still mulling over. But the issues he brought up need to be thought and prayed over. Too many people don't consider them deeply enough. Even if you don't agree with some of his conclusions, if it makes you truly and deeply think about the issues, it's worth it.
It's also a very easy read. His writing style is funny and serious at the same time. I enjoyed his humor and straightforwardness very much.
Awesome Read if you minus the Anti War Jargon.......2007-08-23
What a great book that challenges us to TRULY live like Jesus. Let's all stop talking about how Jesus lived and actually start DOING it. My husband has started a non profit organization and we are going to be movinng to live on the POOR side of town so we can be a part of their lives and hopefully offer them some help and hope. WE NEED MORE CHRISTIANS LIKE THIS who have SACRAFICIAL LOVE for the people around them. We have entirely too many rich people in this country for us to still have homeless people here. The whole redistribution thing is great, but it has to be something that is organic and not forced.
I didn't care for all the anti-war jargon in the book, but I do like the idea of peace. There were wars in the Bible and God actually commanded some of them so I find it hard to believe that God is against ALL war.
Overall, I would recommend this book for it's challenging look at how the Gospel is supposed to be "lived out". Let's stop spending millions on megachurches and start using that money to help out the needy.
Book Description
Entrepreneurship texts may, understandably, be viewed with some suspicion, as being nothing more than common sense dressed-up, and nothing unique or innovative. But Baron and Shane have attempted something new. Baron and Shane focus on the entrepreneurial process as it moves through several distinct phases: (1) generating ideas and recognizing opportunities, (2) assembling resources, (3) launching the new venture, (4) building success, and (5) harvesting the rewards. At each stage, they analyze these processes along three dimensions, examining individual, group, and societal contexts. Accessible and rich in examples, Baron and Shane gain the upper hand by fusing concepts, theory, and research with the supporting pedagogy.
Book Description
The sinfully sexy MacKade brothers are back! New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts's reader favorites are once again breaking the hearts of women everywhere.
Sheriff Devin MacKade watched -- patiently, painfully -- as the woman he secretly cherished suffered through a less-than-perfect marriage. Now pretty Cassie Connor was free . . .but vulnerable. Devin knew he'd have to tread slowly, all the while wondering if The Heart of Devin MacKade could ever claim the woman he loved.
The youngest MacKade, Shane, was a man of the land, so the last woman he expected to catch his eye was a Ph.D.-toting academic. But Rebecca Knight had caught much more than that. One beautiful lady didn't mean The Fall of Shane MacKade from bachelorhood was a sure thing. But it was definitely a possibility . . .

You'll never forget the MacKade's!!.......2007-04-08
These two stories featuring Devin with Cassie and Shane with Rebecca, are my two personal favorites of the series. They are well written and have a well drawn out story line and characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development with the other MacKades and what has been happening to them in the meantime.
Ever since I was first introduced to Cassie in Rafe's story, I had wanted to read her story. I was not disappointed in the least, for it far surpassed my expectations, since the first two stories were rather average yet still good. Devin is by far my favorite MacKade, I think every woman wants a man like him. And Cassie was a charmingly lovely heroine for Devin. Just perfect together. 5/5 stars
Shane...well there's not another one like him. When I first started to read about the MacKades, I wasn't that interested in him, but as the series continued, I got more and more intrigued. Rebecca is delightful as the woman that finally reels the wild Shane in. The interactions between these two are interesting to say the least. 5/5 stars
I'd say to read them in order, as to get to know everyone from the beginning and the history. The ghost element in all four stories is interesting how she integrates it with the characters and their emotions and experiences. I'd like to see sequels featuring an adult Connor, Bryan, and maybe Emma. Don't miss these brothers and their loves, once you read about them, you'll never forget 'em!
Note: This review is posted twice because this is the account I now use (I don't know why I had more than one!), but the other review has a comment so I didn't want to delete it. :)
MacKade Brothers; Devin and Shane.......2007-01-04
Book tranaction went smoothly. Book arrived rapidly. Loved this book and would reccomend this book series to all my friends and family
A Pleasing read.......2006-10-29
This was a reread for me and I really liked it.
This is the last two stories of the four MacKade brothers. Local bad boys as teens, these siblings turned out to be great men.
In the Heart of Devin MacKade, Devin is now the local sherriff. For years he has been in love with Cassie. A mother of two that he was forced to watch be abused by her husband. Her husband is now in jail and Cassie has been divorced from him for some time now. He is now trying to get her to look beyond their long standing friendship. A lovely tale of true love with some suspenseful twist and turns.
In the Fall of Shane MacKade you have the baby brother. He is the local heart throb who see's it as his duty to love all the ladies. He is also the son who took over the family farm, the sight of some ghost hauntings. Rebecca is a friend of Regan (The return of Rafe)who comes to town to look into all the paranormal activity. She was a child prodigy and has a ton of degrees. Completely the opposite of a woman Shane should want. It's fun to watch the fall of Shane.
Like in the previous two stories, you have some ghost stories mixed in with these two. An entertaining read.
The MacKade Brothers: Devin and Shane.......2006-08-20
Very good romance novel, Nora Roberts is queen of the type of book.
Good beach read.......2005-08-12
This two stories are romantic and do hold your interest, but I would caracterize them as "very light reads". And since they are very brief stories, the romance unfolds almost too fast. There is not really enough of a build up. Clearly one of Nora Roberts early efforts, but nonetheless, worthwhile.

Looking Good.......2007-09-26
Book ordered, Book received, Book is looking good.
Have had some minor problems with trying to get the CD-ROM to work, but still working on it.
ALL in ALL, great purchase and investment at a good price.
Inspiring .......2007-09-25
This is a great book for beginning teachers because it provides with a vast number of activities that help students devlop their writing and reading skills. It is also good for experienced teachers since the book has a lot of new ideas that can be incorporated in the classroom to have children involved and enjoy learning.
Spelling inventory.......2007-09-15
I had to use this text for a graduate course in reading education and have found it invaluable when assessing not only students' spelling abilities, but also their reading abilities. The inventories make it easy to pinpoint areas of need.
Excellent Resource for Teachers!.......2007-08-22
This book is an excellent resource for all teachers (K-8). Provides alternative ideas for teachers to help with reading and spelling. Lots of game ideas and many are able to be modified to use at any level with very little work. Excellent for introducing a new spelling pattern or new vocabulary to your whole class or in small groups. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for some new ideas for their reading centers, alternatives to worksheets, etc. I have found this book to be extremely beneficial in my classroom as a resource.
Words Their Way: Word Study for Phonics, Vocabulary, and Spelling Instruction (4th Edition.......2007-07-27
This book is filled with great reproducibles! It clearly spells out a balanced word study program and is a great resource for new and veteran teachers alike.
Customer Reviews:
Is mine the same book??.......2007-09-15
My elementary school has added ESL students this year and I'm looking for help. I bought this book based on the reviews I had read. This is a DRY DULL textbook with no practical information. Don't waste your money!!
Words Their Way is the Best! .......2007-04-23
I use Words Their Way in my classroom all the time. I love the way it teaches my students to spell logically and developmentally. I can tell a lot about my students understanding about how English words are written and pronounced by the way they read and spell a word. This book is specifically about English Language Learners and that is an even greater asset. I have used Words Their Way with my ESOL students for awhile but this book really has a great understanding of my students and a better focus on them. I would still include the main book and the books for each developmental spelling stage in the program, but this book helps immensely. It is even better for teachers with ESOL students in their classes who have no or little training in how to teach them. Or for people who want to understand a bit more - like me!
Teachers Need Words Their Way.......2007-03-08
If teachers don't have this book, they need to buy it. It will teach them everything they need to know about literacy.I have had the pleasure of meeting the author and he is certainly one of the best in teaching literacy.

Helpful for teaching spelling in a child-centered way.......2007-02-23
This book is helpful for offering a plan to teach spelling through word sorts. The steps are included, as are the words for each sort in an easy to copy format. I have found it useful after giving a whole class spelling assessment to teach small groups using these books. This allows me to better reach each child based on what she/he needs to be taught. I recommend this book along with others in this series! I have three for my second grade class.

Customer Reviews:
Wines Appeal to me.......2007-09-21
I chose the Wine Appeal wine journal because it had the Wine Appeal brand of label removers included in the journal. I've been using the Wine Appeal label removers for years and love them and thought I can't go wrong. I was thrilled when the journal arrived! It is great quality and you can add more pages to it if you want. The pages are sold on Amazon and I just found the label removers on Amazon too. I loved the front cover picture but have taken it out and put in a picture of my husband and I from our recent trip to Napa. I love this journal! It's what my sister and special wine loving friends will be getting for Christmes.
Not what I expected.......2007-07-03
When the journal arrived, it was smaller than I expected. It's spiral bound on the inside and there aren't many pages. The cover is black linen material. It didn't seem very substantial. If they had designed a slip case/sleeve to house the journal, it would have taken on a more formal feel.
The wine label kit might be a good feature, but I ended up returning the item. I didn't feel it had the quality of a $37 item.
Wine Journal: Label Removal disaster.......2007-03-16
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend - I thought it would be a great way for him to keep a journal and memory of the wines he tries. The wine journal is very nice. As for the label removal kit - I had seen a couple of reviews on other label removers that were not good (label removers didn't work). I thought this one would. Unless the directions for use are not detailed enough, We did exactly what was asked and had no luck. A tiny piece of one wine label came off but haven't been successful at removing an entire label. Good Luck!
My Cellar Inventory, Top Label Removers........2006-12-06
I used the label removers and journal to make an inventory of my small cellar of premium wine. The label removers worked fine on all but one bottle. The troublesome bottle still removed 90% of the
wine label.(worked far better than Label Off!) The journal's linen cover is top quality and I like
the custom pocket for your own picture.
very appealing wine label collectors book.......2006-11-05
I just ordered my second Wine Jouenrl. My first was a gift from a friend. After filling the journel far too quickly with labels and notes, it's already time to get another one.I showed the journel to my wine tasting group and they all started buying their own. I find them a fantastic gift, as well as being as excellent way of retaining wine labels and recording wines. The label removers have worked on all but a few labels but I think in the begining I wasnt rubbing them enough and tried to remove the label to quickly. I find them a very good product and I would recommend it to anyone!

Customer Reviews:
Now this is a good textbook.......2003-09-01
This was a simply stated book that gave common sense examples.
The chapters were easy to understand without having to have your professor explain everything.
There are a couple of chapters that seem like they should be reorganized, and a couple of chapters that should be put in a different order. Overall though, this is a very good book to help you understand Human Resource Management.
Creative multimedia tie-ins, but getting dated?.......2001-02-23
I suspect that a new edition will be out shortly. Some of the Internet links sprinkled throughout this book are broken, and the text frequently refers to conditions as they were, "as of mid-1997." Hopefully, the authors will employ a proofreader/style editor, as the sytnax is awkward in a few places. That said, this is a good introductory book. The creative integration of Internet links and video case studies ("On Location at Showtime," and ABC News reports on business trends and issues) add to the value of the text. An Internet site allows instructors to develop an on-line syllabus for students to view and download. Key terms are set on the margins in blue print, repeating their definitions from the text. Summaries at the end of each chapter do the same, and include questions designed to verify reader knowledge of major concepts. The book dwells at length on diversity issues, which is appropriate, given the plethora of Exceutive Orders, Supreme Court decisions, and legislation mandating various EEO/affirmative action practices in the HR field. The chapters on recruitment, selection, and training are the strongest in the book, and cover the topics in a fair amount of depth. The chapter on labor unions reveals a pro-union bias; otherwise, the book is ideology-free. Overall, this is a more than adequate treatment of the subject, and is quite serviceable.

Very practical!.......2007-07-30
This book is easy to use right away and very practical. A must have for K-2!
I love it.......2006-07-03
This is one of the best book I've purchase to teach my daughter.
Each page is simple as I wanted and has enough activities with good key points.
Letter Name Spellers.......2005-08-02
This is a great resource for first and second grade teachers. Many of the skills addressed are those encountered in your classroom daily. Great companion to Words Their Way, and to offer a hands on opportunity for phonics, spelling and decoding words.
A great teacher tool!.......2005-02-21
I've used Words Their Way for the last year and loved the strategies. This particular book gives lots more sorts for spellers in the letter name/ alphabetic spelling stage. It includes consonant blends and diagraphs as well as more short vowel sorts. These hands on materials have been a great help to me in teaching my mildly disabled elementary students, but all the regular lower grade teachers at my school are raving, and using these great strategies and materials.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent.......2007-10-03
Excellent for beginners - easy to follow step by step format.Macromedia Flash Professional 8 Beyond the Basics Hands-On Training
Good tutorial and well structured.......2007-05-24
I believe this book taught me quite a lot. The tutorial guides you through one project from beginning to end, which also highlights the challenges in the planning phase. It may appear difficult at the beginning (and it is) but Shane explains the contents in an excellent way that makes you want to learn more. The book is definitely for an intermediate to advanced FLASH developer, who have a good grasp of actionscript. If you are new to actionscript this book is definitely NOT for you. Having said that, this book was worth it for me.
Easy to Understand.......2007-05-12
This book does a great job of explaining ActionScript techniques. It seemed like every time a question popped into my head, I found the answer right away in the next paragraph. The author explains things in a way that everyone can understand.
The only problem I had with the book was that the explanations got a little too repetitive sometimes. I think they over-explained things, but I suppose they just wanted to make sure everyone understood it.
Basically Intermediate, Slightly Beyond.......2007-04-19
Add this one to your library, folks!
This book totally lives up to it's title. It is a solid resource for getting things done with Flash. From concept to finshed product, this books walks you through the proper way to accomplish intermediate-level tasks in a straight forward manner. The step-by-step instructions are some of the best I've seen. And I've seen a lot.
It really is best to have some basic knowledge of Flash and to understand the terms and concepts used, but the beginner will also gain a lot from this book. (if they have a glossary nearby and are willing to do some work). The novice, once going through the material, will be a proud intermediate. There also a few advanced techniques touched upon.
For working designers using Flash this is a tremendously useful book. The entire book is a walk-through of building a website that has many features that will come up in design and development: The design process, fonts, integrating your tools, organization and architecture of your project, loading data from text files with LoadVars, formatting text with textFormat class, building slideshows, preloaders, forms, video and audio players, and navigation menus.
And the CD of files and videos are very well-done and extremely helpful.
HOT Books are Hot.......2007-01-04
The Flash 8 Hands-On-Training book is written in a way anyone should be able to comprehend, retain and use the lessons learned to do what they wish with Flash. I have purchased several of the HOT books, and have not been disappointed with any. A must buy!
