The 3-Hour Diet Cookbook.......2007-09-13
If your doing the 3-hour diet, this book is AWESOME! So far, every recipe I've tried I've like except 1. Everyone that's tried them with me also liked them.
Worked for me. I recommend it!.......2007-09-13
I got this book about a month and a half ago. I also got the 3 hour diet book and followed the recipes. I started on the diet for real 1 month ago. In the last month I have lost 20 pounds and 2 inches off my belly. All I have done is followed the diet with a little cheating and jogged 2-4 times a week for 30-40 minutes (not part of the diet, but a good idea since I cheat a little). I don't know how proven the science is behind eating every 3 hours, for me it is more of a psychological thing...if the meal I just had didn't seem to totally fill me up it doesn't matter because I know I'm going to eat again in another 3 hours. i also like that it does not rely on only one type of food nor does it totally prohibit any food. It is all about decreasing calories and portion control. The cookbook is so great because if you follow the recipes you don't even have to think about how any calories you are eating because they have already been counted for you. Admittedly some of the recipes are not all that great tasting, but there are o many of them in there that we have found plenty that we love. This is not just something you do half heartedly, it is all or nothing if you want results, but it is very easy to stick to. It is not just atemporary "diet" it has become way of lifelong healthy eating.

Great recipes, easy and YUMMY!!.......2007-06-04
I'm not following the diet but I think that the concept makes sense, this book has a lot of great recipes, short ingredient lists that are easy to find ingredients and affordable, gives you many different options for picky family members like mine!!!
Great Companion to the 3 hour diet book.......2007-05-12
I lost 40 pounds on the 3 Hour Diet and have maintained for over a year. I really like this cookbook to help me stay on track and just in general because the recipes are quick, easy and healthy. My whole family likes the things we make from these recipes.
Book Description
Robert Weiss, director of the Sexual Recovery Institute in Santa Monica, California, avoids political and moral arguments and instead focuses on the clinical approach, asking the question, "Is your sexual behavior causing problems in other areas of your life?" Cruise Control leads men to a better understanding of the difference between sexual compulsion and non-addictive sexual behavior within the gay experience, and it explains what resources are available for recovery. A timely and important contribution to the body of recovery literature, Cruise Control provides understanding, empathy and encouragement to gay men seeking healthy sexual expression.
Customer Reviews:
Every gay man should read this.......2006-11-14
As someone whose addiction only very slowly dawned on me - I knew I was unhappy and depressed but didn't really understand why until a friend told me about his substance addiction and how it went in six week cycles and another friend told me about his sex addiction - then I got the feeling that maybe I also had a problem. I had this book on my Amazon wishlist for months before I bought it - the act of buying it was an acknowledgement that I MIGHT have a problem and have to deal with it.
When it finally arrived I read it from cover to cover in an evening. I liked the way it looked at gay lifestyles from various angles and refrained from judging. I also found it very practical - for instance, the "30 day test" to determine if you have a problem with sex addiction. I went through the 30 days, and was convinced - I had a problem.
Since then, reading and acting on the advice in this book has been a lifesaver for me. I don't necessarily enjoy the AA approach it advocates, but found enough in it for me not to have to go to 12 step groups, yet still take positive steps to emerge from what has been a kind of hell.
And why every gay man should read this? In my community, sex addiction isn't even talked about. So to write an entire book about it - that's a great service. Buy it, read it, and pass it on.
Poor Copy Editing.......2006-03-02
Really great book that I use in my practice. The copy editing by the publisher keeps me from giving the book 5 stars.
Gay Man Struggling With Out-of-Control Sex? Here's Your Guidebook..........2005-08-31
As a gay man who came out early, but never had any guidance on how to explore my sexuality other than negative messages from my conservative upbringing, I was like a kid in a candy store when I gained my "freedom". The marketers in my community promoted, packaged, and sold uninhibited, no-strings sexual encounters like cheap lolipops. The "perfect" man was found on every page in every gay rag, and presumably, in every bar or club. An so this is where I learned about sex. "Relationships" were relegated to a small column on one of the back pages sandwiched between "escorts" and "one night stands". After 20 years of being encouraged to run from problems into the bed of the next, new hot stud, I realized my life was becoming more empty and isolated. My routine was work/gym/club/sex. I worked only to pay for the gym, the clubs, and ultimately, the sex. I slept when I had a chance. The internet made cruising easier. I spent hours each nite "setting up" encounters, perusing dozens if not hundreds of men online before selecting one or a few for a hook up. I ate and slept only when I found the time, or when my computer crashed. I could not go on a trip without setting up encounters while there, or cruising the bars, parks, bathhouses, etc. The thought of a relationship only brought on feelings of hopelessness. So it was back to cruising. This was my life.
There are other books out there on sex addiction, like "Out of the Shadows" by Patrick Carnes, but NONE written specifically by a gay man FOR gay men. If you are a gay man of any age and have had questions about your sexual activities, or feel a sense of hopelessness about finding the "right" guy, PLEASE read this book by one of the leading experts in sex addiction!!! Or at least, find someone who has it, or go to a bookstore and browse it.
The extremists on the right want to completely strip us of our equal rights and dignity that we have fought so hard to get, and now it seems the tide is starting to turn in their direction, yet many of us have no idea how to pull ourselves out of the bathhouses and chat rooms to fight back, let alone form stable, loving relationships.
This is a WONDERFUL guidebook to help lead you down a path to a richer, fuller, more enjoyable life. But it is only a guide... you have to do the leg work.
GREAT BOOK!!!!
Every gay male should read this book.......2005-08-07
Every gay male should read this book. If it doesn't help you, it could help you to help someone else. If you are spending alot of time cruising, but wish you could find a relationship, sex addiction could very well be your problem.
Much thanks to the author... this book saved my relationship.
Sexual Addiction is not about sex.......2005-06-29
I had the privilege of reading this book prior to its publication. It is time that gay men understand what sexual addiction is and is not. It is not about pathologizing sex. In fact, it is not about sex at all. This book explains this.
In the field of sexual addiction and compulsivity it is time we recognize how it applies to the gay male community. The author does a fine job on illuminating the issues gay men face who are sexually compulsive.
This book is essential for gay men as well as their partners to learn if sexual addiction is a part of their lives and relationships. I recommend this book to therapists who should understand how sexual addiction manifests with their gay clients.

Book Description
How sick is this: I'm the major jock-stud in high school, but my brother has the brain of a badminton birdie and a body to match. I've got everything and he's got nothing. I'm a three-year, three-sport letterman and Shawn can't even stand up! Like I said, sick, huh?
It's hard to be a brother to someone who doesn't even know you're there. How can you talk to him when he can't understand a thing you say? How can you listen to him when he can't speak a word? How can you love him when he's so messed up, he can't love you back? And how can you have a life of your own when your father bailed on the family, leaving you to be the "man of the house"?
Fueled by rage at what has happened to his family, Paul is ready to explode. And he is haunted by something even worse -- something he can never tell anyone. It is something he will have to face if he is to have any hope of a future at all. While Cruise Control is a companion to Terry Trueman's Printz Honor book, Stuck in Neutral, it is the completely independent story of a family's "other" son -- the one who is healthy, gifted, normal. It is a courageously hopeful story told with power, compassion, and humor.
Customer Reviews:
A Truthful Book.......2007-09-02
The thing I liked most about this book is that it gets the first person male narration of a senior in high school pretty spot on. Paul is a highly successful athlete and scholar in his last year in high school, but is constantly brimming with a pressure-cooker full of rage. He's angry at his father, at people who try to get too close to him, and at the unfairness of life. Most of all, though, he's angry at himself and his confused feelings he feels towards his fourteen-year-old brother who is a "veg", as Paul describes him.
Many boys will enjoy this book because of the tone of the narration, but also because of the sports story and buzzer-beater ending. While there are some occasional 4-letter words (hello? as I said, he IS a senior in high school), I will recommend this probably to some select kids in my middle school classroom.
a good book.......2006-10-12
This is a good book. It is abut a kid that has Cerebral Palsy and he can't control anything he does. He thinks his dad is out to kill his little brother, Shawn. Paul is in the 11th grade and is the starting quarter back for the high school. He is like the main jock of the school. He is very good at basketball, too. During practice he made a quarter-court shot and they didn't have to run ball breakers, which are sprints up and down the gym. Overall this was a good book and I recommend it to you. You will know how it is to have a little brother with Cerebral Palsy after you read this book.
Terry Trueman Draws You In.......2006-06-11
I thought this was a very good book. It really got in Paul's head. It has a very emotional begining and ending but it really draws you in. Terry Trueman knows how to write books in the first person. I really enjoy her style of writing. I loved how Paul finally said to Shawn, his brother, how he really did love him.
Cruise Control.......2006-06-06
Shawn is in Cruise Control and he plays the same character. Cruise Control is about Shawn's brother Paul. Paul is mad at his father for leaving him and the rest of his family. He is always talking about wanting to beat gis dad up when he see's him.
Cruise Control.......2006-06-05
In Cruise Control, Paul talks about how his brother has Cp, and how people treat him. Paul is a very athletic person. He hates his dad because he left his family but he finds out that his mom told him to leave. He finally follows his dreams and gets into college.
Cruise Control was a good book. Paul, Shawns brother actually cares for him because he beats up people that make fun of him. It was good because at first he thinks his dad is trying to kill his brother. I like it because he follows his dreams and gets into college.

Book Description
The proliferation of advanced weapons to volatile regions of the world has become a major issue in the post Cold War era. It was thought that no Third World nation could ever pose a technologically-based threat to the great powers by acquiring advanced weaponry. But this has proved to be wrong. The Persian Gulf War changed the worldwide perception of the spread of ballistic missiles to countries like Iraq. Access to a new type of weapon--cruise missiles--poses an even greater threat. With technology that is accessible, affordable, and relatively simple to produce, Third World countries could acquire highly accurate, long-range cruise missile forces to escalate local conflicts and threaten the forces and even the territories of the industrial powers. This book is a warning to policymakers. It is not too late to confront the realities of cruise missile proliferation and to devise international responses that could contain the worst possible consequences. Carus proposes a new regime of technology controls, security-building measures, and conflict resolution that need to be considered, and acted on, by policymakers and international relations experts everywhere.

Review of 'Cruise Control'.......2007-01-12
She's going to drive him wild...
What good is a second chance if you don't take a risk?
That's what limo driver Anna Jackson asks when the seriously hot Marc Lewis climbs in her car. She's changed her looks, her career and now it's time to shed the conservative habits of a lifetime. And seducing Marc is the best way to do that. Sure, he's her client--sort of off-limits--but she's not wrong about the invitation in his eyes.
All she has to do is remember three simple rules--never stay overnight, make no plans for the future and never, ever talk about emotions. Once they hit the sheets, however, rules aren't so easy to follow. And once they spend the night, can feelings be far behind?
Sarah Mayberry writes a 'Five Star', with interesting characters and steamy scenes that will knock your socks off!
Delicious!.......2006-05-08
Sarah Mayberry delivers another great Blaze story with all the right elements -- hot vibes, well-rounded characters, a solid plot, and a helluva lot of fun. You won't be sorry you bought this -- it's a guaranteed great read.

Book Description

Subject matter includes: What to pack and how to pack it wrinkle-free; the secret of The Giant Tote Bag; Avoiding - and treating - mal de mer; Essential Tips on Tipping; Keeping your cabin shipshape; Un-sticking sticky situations; Guerrilla shopping; Freelancing Freedom in port; Scoring shore excursions; wining, dining, and simply enjoying.
Customer Reviews:
Cruise Control.......2004-02-09
So Mrs. Kane cruises alot. Her primary concerns are eating in the main dining room and dressing to impress, but that was only after packing to impress. So if you want to read a 16-font 110 page paperback and then spend two weeks packing and using on board politicing to arrange your main dining room eating, this is the book for you. If you need information on activities, spas, who to complain to (other than the dining room), notlosing money in the casino, entertainment, on board activities other than eating and shopping for affordable souveniors(not $200 jade necklace) read Frommers.
Gone But Not Lost!.......2004-01-31
CRUISE CONTROL is now out of print! But that's OK, because Pam is back in an all new, updated and even funnier book HAPPY SAILS: THE CAREFREE CRUISER'S HANDBOOK. You'll want to have the latest updates for security, more fun facts and hilarious new stories!
Never Taken a Cruise? READ THIS!.......2003-03-12
As a veteran of several cruises, I thought I pretty much knew it all when it came to packing, etc. I was wrong! This book really gave me some helpful hints for subsequent cruises (I had never had an inside cabin before my last cruise and I never would have thought to bring a nightlight - a good tip!) I have loaned out this much-worn book to several friends going on their first cruises and they said it was a God-send. My copy is losing pages and has several notations and highlighted areas now. This is good guide for both verteran cruisers and newbies.
Short and sweet.......2003-02-02
Useful, step-by-step guide to getting the most out of your cruise expierience. Not about cruise lines or itineraries, more of a FAQ describing what to bring, how to pack, what to expect, unusual situations, etc.
Not a lot of material but what there is, is "cherce".
This book is wonderful........2002-10-21
I had taken several cruises prior to reading this book, however I learn many valuable tips. This book is clear, concise and above all a "fun" read. I recommend it highly.

Life is looking good for Trent . . .
Everyone’s telling
Trent to slow down, take it easy.
Jeremy says he’s out of control.
Please.
The way
Trent sees it, he only has a few months of freedom left.
Why shouldn’t he make the most of it?
Customer Reviews:
Sweet 18.......2003-09-17
When I saw this book in ......, I quickly bought it and read it right away. We was meeting my boyfriend who was a truck driver so when we got there 45 minutes later, I finished the book because it was so good. I wanted to own all Sweet Valley High Senior Year books. They are the best books I ever read even better than Sweet Valley Junior High!
Good.......2002-08-23
This was a pretty good book. It's mainly about Trent getting into UCLA so his parents buy him a car. After that he starts partying and getting a little carried away with things and there's a big accident in the end. This is also about Jade's Dad deciding not to pay for her college education unless she goes to Oregon. Tia's decided to not go to college next year. There's also a big part about Jessica and Elizabeth. Jessica feels lonely because there's nothing big going on in her life like there is in everybody elses. Elizabeth enters a contest to win a scholarship to a school in England, while Jessica thinks the only good thing in her life right now is that Elizabeth will be going to SVU with her. Jeremy gets an acceptance letter to the University of Arizona which upsets Jessica even more. It was a pretty good book in my opinion.
Not worth your $'s.......2002-08-21
This book isn't all that great. Trent gets accepted into a premed program, so his parents buy him a car, and he starts blowing off schoolwork because "his life is set." Tia and Jeremy keep telling him he's got a problem, he doesn't listen, and at the end of the book he ends up crashing his car into a tree. Yeah, great book.
Jessica's feeling ignored and worthless because nobody thanked her for organizing her parents anniversary party, and then Jeremy tells her he's going to college in Arizona after all.
At the Scope office Liz finds out about a contest for high school seniors to win a scholarship to some school in England, so she decides to enter. She writes a story about the European music scene (or something like that) with the help of her little whipping boy Jeff. Then Liz feels guilty because Jess tells her how happy she is that they'll be going to SVU together. This whole storyline is pointless, really, because we all know Liz ends up at SVU anyway.
Book Description
The book is structured along the following lines: The Introduction sets the book's context with an overview of the strategic consequences and military and policy challenges facing decision-makers should cruise missiles spread widely into the hands of potential Western adversaries. Chapter 1 assesses the technological challenges confronting third-world nations considering the development of land-attack cruise missiles based on their own indigenous skills and capabilities. Chapter 2 examines alternative ways (apart from indigenous development) by which developing nations could acquire platforms (anti-ship cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and very light kit aircraft) that could be converted into weapons-carrying, land-attack cruise missiles. It also illuminates why direct purchases of highly advanced cruise missiles could conceivably offer the fastest route to cruise-missile ownership. Chapter 3 argues that cruise missile proliferation is not just the product of technological determinism. Nations face both strong motivations and constraints in the process of acquiring major weapons systems. This chapter examines in detail (including two illustrative scenarios) the compelling military and strategic motivations behind cruise-missile acquisition. It also exposes several constraints, including competing weapons acquisitions (e.g. ballistic missiles), which might condition the pace of cruise-missile proliferation. Chapter 4 turns to illuminating the challenges of defending against modern cruise missiles. It appraises the current and prospective shortcomings of existing Western air defence systems and lays out a complete set of hedging priorities tailored to address current and future weaknesses. However critical such air-defence improvements might be, the first line of defence against cruise-missile proliferation is non-proliferation policy. Chapter 5 assesses the current effectiveness of such policies and finds several major shortcomings in existing policies. It presents a comprehensive set of policy recommendations designed to close existing shortcomings in the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). Regime alternatives are also considered. The Conclusion sums up the paper's major findings in the context of the current US strategic review by the new Bush Administration and the need for improved coalition operations with major US allies and friends. The paper includes a glossary, an appendix of selected cruise-missile programmes, and exhaustive documentation supporting the research findings.

The Essential Little Cruise Book.......2003-08-12
This book is FANTASTIC! Easy to read and packed with great tips! I practically highlighted the entire thing! The best part was that I emailed the author, Jim West, and he called me back! He has a great personality and to top it all off it looks like he can save me over $400 on an upcoming cruise we are planning!
JIM WEST DID IT AGAIN!.......2000-11-25
I purchased Jim West's first book THE ESSENTIAL LITTLE CRUISE BOOK and found it to be more helpful than what my travel agent could provide for me. Then I was planning my second cruise, only this time I was traveling with my brothers and sisters and their families--34 people in all. We purchased CRUISE CONTROL and not only found a fantastic cassette tape of helpful tips, but the package contained a copy of THE ESSENTIAL LITTLE CRUISE BOOK. Such a deal!!
I called him on his toll free number (800-708-0880) and he planned our entire cruise. He actually flew to Pittsburgh from Chicago and talked with our entire family before we left. He is AWESOME. You would be very foolish not to use his cruise expertise and have him personally plan your cruise!
By the way, don't confuse his book with the other CRUISE CONTROL book, his offers a lot more than just an outsiders view of cruising. He actually worked as a cruise director for 10 years on cruise ships, so he knows the information first hand.
The Best Investment Before You Cruise!.......2000-09-01
Before you spend even $1.00 toward any cruise, invest in this fantastic guide book. Jim West's vast knowledge of the Cruise Ship Industry is revealed in his books. Jim has been on over 650 cruises all over the world and his helpful insights will provide even the seasoned traveler with inside information to make any cruise the cruise of a lifetime. I took the time to contact Jim at his toll-free number (877-663-7001)and he even answered the phone himself! He provided me with unsurpassed customer service like you used to receive in the good'ol days. He also provided me with an unbeatable price for a Mediteranean Cruise. You just can't beat it...Knowledge, customer service and an unbeatable price from a true cruise expert! What else do you need! BUY THE BOOK. YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO!

WOW! A MUST read for anyone planning a cruise!.......2000-08-29
The best investment I could have made for planning my cruise is a copy of this book and audio tape. Jim West was a cruise director who worked onboard cruise ships for 10 years, and he tells it like it is! It is worth 10 times the price! He is now a cruise travel agent who personally plans cruises. I called him, and he was very helpful in finding my family a fantastic price on our vacation cruise. You can reach him at 800-708-0880. And for the record, I don't get any kick-back for endorsing him or this package! He really is great!
