Orlando Bloom Has Ruined Everything lampoons memorable moments from 2003 and 2004, such as the East Coast blackout. In the FoxTrot version, an "ink outage" renders several days' strips only partially drawn. "I called Funky Winkerbean. He says the ink's out over the entire grid," Jason reports.

In another series of strips, Jason's latest money-making scheme involves creating an animated film to rival the box office blockbusters of Pixar and Dreamworks: "It's the tender story of a leech's search for his missing son. I'm calling it Finding Hemo.

The success of FoxTrot has yielded consequences creator Bill Amend may never have imagined. The strip has been used as a question on the game show Jeopardy! and as an answer in the New York Times crossword. It's a fitting irony that FoxTrot has become a fixture of pop culture, the very phenomenon it parodies with such keen wit.

I have been a faithful FoxTrot reader for years. Roger, Andy and their kids Peter, Paige and Jason are always good for a reality check with a large dose of laughter. I've got two girls and let me tell you, I see a lot of my kids in Paige with, I believe, even a healthy dose of Jason thrown in. And they have Peter's bottomless stomach. Of course, they're faithful FoxTrot readers too. I used to read the strip to them, explain what was going on, but now they get it just fine and we three all laugh together. Then my girls try and explain the strip to their dad, who pretends he doesn't get it.

The FoxTrot folks are a great family, one we sort of got used to checking up on every day, so we took the news that Mr. Amend was going to cease daily distribution of his wonderfully funny people and turn his strip to Sunday only, with a bit of sadness. Still, we have these terrific FoxTrot books to keep us going with our FoxTrot fix. Mr. Amend is to be commended for his great gift to our culture and his great gift to so many lives. I truly believe a laugh a day, helps keep the blues away and the FoxTrot gang are always good for a laugh. Heck there are a lot of laughs in the FoxTrot books. I know, I have them all and I am, along with my girls and my hubby dear, eagerly awaiting the next one.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, we don't have an iguana, but my girls do have a pet gecko and, you guessed it, his name is Quincy.

I've been a Foxtrot reader for a long time and personally I think there is something suspiciously wrong with people who don't find Bill Amend's characters funny as all get out. If you want a good laugh, check out Bill in your local newspaper, or better yet, get one of the Foxtrot books. They are all great, really, they are.

Like many of Mr. Amend's fans I'm a bit disappointed that he's switching his strip to Sunday-only, but fortunately I can still read him daily in the Foxtrot books. Get them one and all and you can keep right on a laughing.

Another great Fox family book.......2007-01-10

We loved it! Our favorite comic and our favorite movie all combined in one book. Ths Fox family will be missed now that Bill Amend has retired but this book keeps us laughing.

Bill Amend is a people-watcher. You can tell this by how his FoxTrot characters mimic real life situations and issues. Unfortunately, he seems to be spending too much time spying on me! At least that is my perception when I see the goings-on of the Fox family!

Orlando Bloom Has Ruined Everything : A FoxTrot Collection, is a funny and timely addition to this long-running cartoon series. As the title suggests, it covers a period of time that the country was wild over Lord of the Rings. But don't dispair... there are still plenty of strips on Thanksgiving dinner, football in the snow, Quincy, dating, snow people, math, allowances, chess, electronic games, tofu, and homework. And if you know what I am talking about, then this is not your first FoxTrot book!

I only wish there was a bit more content in these books! You go through them too quickly! Four stars instead of 5 for this reason.

Nice large format.......2005-07-17

I would recommend this book for Orlando fans. It has very large pictures and seems to be well researched. There are three reasons that it fell short of five stars. It tends to veer off of the subject of Orlando quite a bit. There is a lot of information about Harry Bloom, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Black Hawk Down incident. Also, it lists Gabriel Byrne as Fritz in Haven. That is incorrect, Gabriel Byrne dropped out of the project. Fritz was played by Victor Rasuk. And finally, it reuses a picture of Orlando smiling and winking at the Hollywood Film Festival awards. They flipped it and used it, then flipped it back and cropped it and used it again.

But overall, it's pretty good.

i have always loved orlando bloom - i'll admit it's the reason i watched the Lord of the Rings series in the first place. but, then, i grew to find he was more than just cute - the magazines, books, Internet stories, and biographies revealed him to be a very admirable person. the first five pages of this great biography have turned my view around - obviously there is a whole other side to this star. i can't wait to finish reading it!

I got this book bc i totally love orlando bloom....like he is my faaaaav actor!! but this book was a total, and i mean total dissapointment. i guess this first time author has no clue what they are doing. they should take a few more writing classes before writing another book.

This book is pretty complete filmology of Orlando's work and is actually pretty current. Some of the pictures aren't his best, but there are some real gems to be found throughout. Not a lot of personal information if that is what you are looking for.

For the life of me, I dont know why people glorify actors such as Bloom. I say with conviction that he isn't a good actor and only has his looks to show (although Ive heard of his charitable works which is nice to know but it isnt enough to survive in Hollywood). It is sad that people milk Bloom for all his worth until someone comes along to snag him and his fans from the top.

Excellent book.......2007-08-09

This a quick and fun read on Orlando. I enjoyed the book. It had plenty of good info on him and pictures. I highly recommend this book to Orlando fans.

A Joke.......2005-08-29

That's how I got this book--my family knowing I'm an Orlando Bloom fan, they bought this book when they saw it in Safeway. I thought it was hilarious, but decided it would make an interesting read.

I know a lot of the material is accurate, but it's not really anything you couldn't learn by just going to a fan site on the Net. The author seems to try to spice up the "biography" with some dialogue and insights into actor's mind. Though he states in the beginning that he did this all in Orlando's character, it's a bit distracting, not to mention that sometimes it's a bit difficult to tell what really happened.

I was most insulted at the book's incorrect information. It may just be because I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan (books and movie), but it clearly shows that the book was not very well edited, probably a rush job to get it out in circulation quickly. The name "Gollum" is spelled as "Golem", there are some minor plot mistakes, and pictures from the various LotR movies are very mistakenly captioned. (A picture from Aragorn's coronation labelled "Fellowship of the Ring"??)

I would say you should only buy this book if you're a big Orlando Bloom fan and want to have all the merchandise you can get your hands on. If not, just go and read a biography on a site like The Orlando Bloom Files. It basically says all you want to know in a nutshell, without the extra little flourishes. Another reason to buy this book is if you want to know more about Orlando's career before he got into movies--the book at least has some interesting info there. This book may have been a bit disappointing, but it was amusing to read.

"One day Orlando Bloom was a cute English kid reciting poetry to his neighbors." While not particularly verbose or grammatically correct, this - the first sentence in Orlando: An Unauthorized Biography - is haunting in its utter simplicity.

I have read Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, Jane Austin, and others. I play chess as well. This is my favorite book.

Not Well Researched.......2005-04-24

I got this book for free and it was still too expensive. The information is taken from substandard websites, now deleted yahoo groups and tabloids. Much of it is untrue. I do not recommend this book.

This book has Andre 'The A**hole' Schneider's lies in it! Horribly researched! Terribly written! This book is an insult to Orlando Bloom and an offence to Orlando Bloom fans! Don't waste your money! Ionly gave this book one star because it wasn't an option to give it zero stars!
