Bought this book for grandson and grandma.......2007-06-14
Bought this book for grandson and grandma they love it! Now passed on to his brother.
Alright.......2007-01-12
Not nearly my childs favorite book that I had hoped but it still is decent. She likes books with more involvement - sounds/ color/ touch to it. She is my first child so hopefully the next ones will like it more.
Sweet.......2006-02-19
Sweet little book. It is very simple, yet my 11-month-old granddaughter spends a lot of time looking at the wonderful pictures. It is great too because she usually gives hugs and kisses to her doll, teddy or even better to me! A great little book to have at my house when she comes to visit.
Get Lots of Hugs and Kisses.......2003-06-05
I don't understand it, but my 17 month old loves this book. She will ask me to read it repeatedly. That is okay, because I can always coax a few hugs and kisses out of her when we do read the book.
The book itself is very simple and takes less than a minute to read. The pictures are great though of many babies and parents getting hugs and kisses. She will point at each page and say "baby."
Customer Reviews:
Full of practical advice.......2005-10-14
I have read and re-read this book a number of times over the years, and recommended it to my friends. It has lots of practical parenting advice, especially for parents of younger kids but really for all ages. From a Christian perspective. I highly recommend this book! If only more people would put it into practice...
My favorite.......2002-05-19
This is my favorite childcare book right next to How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Faber and Mazlish. Why? First of all every chapter has useful, ready-to-use and easy to remember tips instead of having to wade through pages and pages and pages of child rearing philosophy to get to it. I've used many of them dealing with my four children and with great results. Secondly, the author has a refreshingly positive and compassionate view of children which is important and contagious. Her term "creative disciplinarian" is interesting, teaching one to become aware and alert to a given situation instead of just dishing out punishment in robot-like fashion. This book has many important elements of several other child rearing books that I've read but all in one place that you'll want to reach for again and again. I highly recommend it and thank you Dr. Kuzma.
Great book! Where is it?.......1997-11-18
Great guide to parents in raising responsible loving children in today's world.
Product Description
A beautifully written and illustrated childrens book of how children cope with the loss of another child to cancer. (Ages 8-12) Join Shelby as she realizes how much she cares for her sister Brittany. She views Brittany as a gift rather than a burden, especially when she discovers how wonderful hugs and kisses can be. Shelby gives hugs and kisses to her family and Brittany gives hugs and kisses to Jesus. An ideal book that opens the door for discussion about the death of a child.
Customer Reviews:
This really helped our children with their grief........2006-06-09
A beautiful childrens picture book that touches on a subject many of us don't like to talk about, a child's death. This books is sensitive and original in its form. The message of hope, love, and faith helps the child who is reading it to understand that it is okay to feel the way they feel. This book helps to open the door for further discussion on this sensitive topic. The author approaches this subject through the eyes of a child, in language and illustrations that they can relate to. There is no other book like this that completely is focused on the child and their struggles with the death of another child.
Great for the older sibling of a younger child that dies........2006-06-07
Shelby is older and likes to have her space, but when Brittany gets sick with cancer, Shelby realizes how precious her sister is to her. Like most kids ages 8-12, Shelby wanted to do big kid stuff and not let Brittany who is younger, hang around her or give her hugs and kisses. The flow is wonderful and the message of hope is ideal. The main message of this books is that Shelby now loves to give and receive hugs and kisses from her family, because her sister Brittany taught her that even in death everytime she gives hugs and kisses on earth, she is giving Brittany hugs and kisses in heaven too!
I also want to add: The visual instance of Brittany being accepted by Jesus is very emotional, and helps the child who is reading this book, to see the actuality of Brittany in Heaven with Jesus.

Great book for a Mommy to Be!.......2001-08-18
This book was given to me by a good friend, after I confided to her the fears I have about becoming a first time Mommy (3 weeks to go!!) Not only did it help me out tremedously, it helped me realize that I am human. I recommend this book for any Mom, and especially for any Mom to be....it really helped put it all into perspective. Thanks, Becky!
Great Book!.......2001-05-13
Becky Freeman really knows how to explain motherhood. I was laughing and crying all at the same time. I received this book as a gift from a friend and I am a glad I read it. I plan to give Becky's books as gifts from now on. She has humor and a way to make you feel human. Thanks.
Peanut Butter Kisses & Mud Pie Hugs.......2000-11-21
What a joy! I bought this book on a whim and each time I pick it up, I laugh and nod in understanding. There is so much wisdom that is beautifully wrapped in real-life humor, a ala Erma Bombeck. Ms. Freeman's motherhood experiences with 4 children and a crazy life so closely mirror my own. Her final gift to us, her readers, are the gentle quotes from scriptures. Thank you, Ms. Freeman. I am buying many copies of your book and giving them in gift baskets to my friends for Christmas.
Becky's Books are like old friends.......2000-09-14
I have read most of Becky's books and this one did not disappoint (I just hate when they end). Each book is like a visit with her family and they are such fun! I read her books on the train and almost always have to refrain from laughing out loud. I have 3 little ones and home and can SO relate to all the family stuff she puts in her books. They make me want to rush home to enjoy the kiddies.
Kisses & Hugs are only a part of a Mother's rewards........2000-05-14
Becky has captured the feelings of motherhood in all their glory. It's joys and sorrows, the bittersweet knowledge that if we are doing our job right, we are raising our children to leave us. Once again, she uses humor and a profound understanding of humankind to share her story. I laughed and cried with Becky throughout this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a mother or who was once a child or who has ever known a child!
Customer Reviews:
Very cute, interactive bedtime story.......2007-09-05
This is an adorable book about a little boy that won't settle into bed (has lots of excuses) and the tactics his exasperated but loving mother uses to coax him to stay in bed and go to sleep. Each page will have you and your child doing gorilla hugs, fish kisses, ect. along with the characters of the story. The illistrations are great and my 3 year old thinks it's hilarious. It's a fun way to end the day. Highly recommend.

baby DOES love hugs and kisses!.......2001-05-02
i was looking for a book for my one year old when i came across this book.In the space of a week he had started to respond to the different scenarios in the book by laughing and giggling. My one year old has a developmental delay and i have sucessfully used this book to get him to identify words with sounds. Each and every scenario in this book is familiar to him. From babys bed time to baby hugging and kissing his sister. I recommend this book to anybody who has a baby especially one with a speech and language developmental delay as it is a great help in beginning to share information and communicate with your child.

In the end, however, Oliver and Emily learn that when it comes to their mother's love, there's no contest.
Susan Wheeler and Paul Kortepeter introduce readers to the Boxwood family of Holly Pond Hill in this charmingly illustrated and lavishly embossed storybook that's sure to be a family favorite.
Customer Reviews:
Adorable!.......2003-10-15
I bought this book when I first found out I was pregnant. Even though I have little boys, I still read it to them! They love the gorgeous illustrations as well as the story line!
Children always wonder if their mom loves their brother/sister more than themselves. This is a beautifully illustrated and lyrical story that shows how encompassing a mother's love really is!
Oliver and Emily have a contest to see who Victoria Rose, their mother, loves the most. And the outcome is not a big surprise to the reader but it is a lovely story!
This is one of my favorite books to read! I highly recommend this one to everyone!

Witty and heartwarming.......2003-01-11
This book is beautifully written & illustrated. Every child with a sibling will identify with this book--and so will their parents! It sends a great message, too. Best of all, "Hugs and Kisses" shows profound wit and characterization that's lacking in many modern kids' books.
The colorful rabbit drawings by Susan Wheeler are adorable.......2002-02-04
Siblings can't decide which one the mother loves the most, so they decide to hold a contest: whoever receives the most hugs and kisses before sundown is their mother's favorite child. The colorful rabbit drawings by Susan Wheeler are adorable in this intriguing story.

Customer Reviews:
I Love it THIS MUCH!.......2003-03-17
I really love this book. Maybe it's because it was a gift from me to my son for Valentine's day or because I get to read it to him. I enjoyed all 3 books included because it was short enough for a typical toddlers short attention span, and it was heartwarming because we got to hug and cuddle and show how much we love each other afterwards. This is a great book to share with those you LOVE.
I Love The Love Library.......2002-03-08
I am a mother of an 18 month old and a child care provider of children 12 months to 5 years in age. I got these books as a Valentine's Day present for my daughter and she loved them. She especially liked Hug, and asked me to read all 3 of them to her over and over (She brings the book and puts it in my hand as she sits on my lap). The children in my care like them just as much. In fact, Hug was the first book the 5 year old in my care read. She may not know how to read yet, but she recognizes letters and she memorized (by sight) the 3 simple words on the book (you read right, 3 words repeated at different times). She felt so proud that she could read a book to the babies. It gave her a wonderful boost in her self-esteem! The books are beautiful and simple, the way books should be for this age group. I would recomend it for parents of babies and toddlers especially. Some preschoolers may find them too simple for parents to read to them, but they may like them to try to read themselves.
Guess How Much I Love You.......2002-02-25
This book is one of my favorites to read to my children because it expresses just how a parent feels for their child. I am not a gushy person, but I too get choked up on the last page. A must for any new parent.
Guess how much I hate this book.......2002-02-05
This book has pictures and a story that are supposed to be cute and may be that to some people. I couldn't stomach reading this to my child more than once. If you want to hear yourself repeating "little nut brown hair" and "big nut brown hair" countless times, then by all means buy this book. The pictures are soft pastel and are not very exciting for young children. My child (14 months old) loves this book the least.
My favorite book.......2002-02-01
I like that book. It is the best book for my bed time story and my mommy and daddy read it to me and I like it.
