Book Description
When Silas Heap unSeals a forgotten room in the Palace, he releases the ghost of a Queen who lived five hundred years earlier. Queen Etheldredda is as awful in death as she was in life, and she's still up to no good. Her diabolical plan to give herself everlasting life requires Jenna's compliance, Septimus's disappearance, and the talents of her son, Marcellus Pye, a famous Alchemist and Physician. And if Queen Etheldredda's plot involves Jenna and Septimus, then it will surely involve Nicko, Alther Mella, Marcia Overstrand, Beetle, Stanley, Sarah, Silas, Spit Fyre, Aunt Zelda, and all of the other wacky, wonderful characters that made magyk and flyte so memorable.
With heart-stopping action and a dash of humor, Angie Sage continues the fantastical journey of Septimus Heap.
Customer Reviews:
Great series!.......2007-09-28
Get Magyk and Flyte (Books one and two) Then get this one! Fun and interesting series. Bought them for my daughter but I enjoyed them too.
Falling Flat........2007-09-24
NOTE: I did not like this book, so if you are a die-hard fan of Sage and the sieris i suggest hiding this review.
After captivating you with her last two books. Sage's attempt at a story is laughable.
The writing style that gripped her readers in Flyte and Magick does not appear in Physic. The people seemed to have lost their flames and senses of humors, Snorri and the Queen have no death to either of them. Each has a chapter devoted to them but they are loosely explained and the chapters tell nothing.
Worser still is the fact that most of the Heap family is not even int he book. lovable Silas Heap and Motherly Sarah heap are in the background, the book does not seem complete and the series looks unprofessional.
The plot is confusing and always makes you re read passages and wonder what is going on. The word choice is good but overly done, there is none of the simplicity that was so endearing about Magyk and Flyte.
The book is a real put downer. After Sage's steller novels you would expect something a little more high class and gripping. For fans of the siearies, I suggest pretending that this book did not exist. It si a dissaponment to her fans.
I sincerely hope that Sage recaptures the magyk in next novel.
Physik - A Great Read for Septimus Heap Lovers!.......2007-08-24
This was by far the best of the Septimus Heap series! If you have read Magyk and Flyte then you must read Physik! The plot is very in depth and exciting and new characters are introduced that you will come to love as much as Jenna and Septimus. What a wonderful book and hopefully there will be another in the series!
Keep Septimus Coming!.......2007-06-27
I am a school teacher and my students were all reading the Septimus Heap series of books. I decided to read them as well, and they are FANTASTIC! I was disappointed that Physik was the last of the series(so far), I want to keep reading about him!
Physik - Septimus Heap book 3.......2007-06-08
Angie Sage did a wonderful job continuing the Saptimus Heap story. A quick read, antertaining and very enjoyable.

Once she realizes she has been duped, Sorcha must decide if her growing love is enough to overcome the betrayal.

I LOVED this book!!!!.......2007-03-07
I don't want to ruin the surprises, so I won't go into detail. This novel works because the characters have such an endearing quality even in their worst moments. The author never emotionally manipulates the reader, though she keeps it real; both characters suffer heartbreak, yet the book is also very entertaining. Christina Dodd writes characters that are very real to life. I love how she ties the trilogy together at the end. I definitely recommend the other two books in the series "Barefoot Princess" and "Some Enchanted Evening." If you love this book, read Christina Dodd's "Runaway Princess" which has a like theme but way different plot. Both books deserve five stars!!!
4 1/2 Stars..........2007-02-24
Princess Sorcha and Prince Rainger were betrothed from the time they were babies. Then war and rebellion tore both countries apart, scattering Sorcha and her three sisters to the wind, while Rainger suffered torture and imprisonment in the dungeon of his greatest enemy.
Now Rainger has finally discovered that Sorcha has been hiding in a convent. After disguising himself as a fisherman, he manages to escort Sorcha back toward their homeland, and the wedding he must have if he is to win his country back from his enemies.
Along the way Sorcha falls in love with him, and he persuades her to marry him, even though she still thinks he is a simple fisherman. Only to suffer her fury when she awakes the next morning to find out who he really is. . .
In the conclusion to the Princess series, Dodd picks up with the tortured Rainger, whose naivete resulted in his enemies taking his kingdom from him, and torturing him to the point of madness and death. For him, Sorcha is only a tool to win back what he has lost, and make amends for the damage he has caused-at first. Only when he seems to have lost her does he begin to fully appreciate what she has come to mean to him.
This conclusory novel is at least as enjoyable as the others in the series, although I could have wished for a bit more depth in the development of the villains of the piece. This is compensated for by the author's portrayal of the ambivalence of Rainger's own people, who have been brutalized by his enemy, and react to Rainger's new intervention with an all-too-human hesitance.
In fact, this story is actually more Rainger's than it is Sorcha's, and does not suffer for it. I particularly enjoyed the kind of Count of Monte Cristo flavor Dodd wove in her telling of Rainger's foolishness, his sufferings and his eventual rise to become a man worthy of the throne he regains.

Entertaining.........2007-02-24
You have to hand it to Christina.
She can write a novel that is at once witty, heartwarming AND sexy!! Not an easy feat!
AND she makes secondary characters more than cardboard cutouts.
One of her greatest strengths is that her books always finish as interesting as they start..
A wonderful last book in a sweet trilogy.
Final book of the Lost Princesses series.......2007-02-01
'The Prince Kidnaps a Bride' by Christina Dodd is the final book of the series - Princess Sorcha and Prince Rainger's story. The novel is based around three princesses who leave their country due to war. They left their home as children and now young women trying to survive. Prince Rainger comes to the convent pretending to simple fisherman but his lies, war and his love for Sorcha everthing turns into chaos. Check out the whole Lost Princess Series ,SOME ENCHANTED EVENING (1), THE BAREFOOT PRINCESS (2) and THE PRINCE KIDNAPS A BRIDE(3).
Worst book I've read in a while!.......2007-01-25
Let me start by saying that when I bought this book, I was not expecting much. I justed wanted an easy, pass-the-time book...still this book really managed to disappoint me. The heroine is just plain silly, you never feel the connection between the characters through out the book and this does not look like a book written by someone with experience! My advise, save your money and just move on!

Bartholomew and the Oobleck easily qualifies as a Seuss classic, first told way back in 1949. And its message--the importance of owning up to your mistakes and saying that you're sorry--is as timeless now as it was then.
Bartholomew Cubbins serves thanklessly as pageboy to King Derwin of Didd, a headstrong man who's decided he isn't satisfied with mere sun, fog, rain, and snow. ("Humph! The things that come down from my sky!") He wants something else, something uniquely his own, so he calls in his royal magicians ("Shuffle, duffle, muzzle, muff. Fista, wista, mista-cuff. We are men of groans and howls, mystic men who eat boiled owls"). Happy to oblige, the magicians tell the king they can make "oobleck" fall from the sky, only nobody--not even the magicians--knows just what oobleck is. But after a night of arcane incantations, everyone in the kingdom gets a taste of the stuff (in the case of the Captain of the Guard, literally!), as the green, gluey goo gums up everything in sight.
Of course, Bartholomew tries to help, but it's up to the king to save the day, as he learns to utter not magic words but simple words with magic in them: "I'm sorry." (Ages 4 to 8) --Paul Hughes

Medieval Math Adventure.......2007-09-17
Back in the days of Camelot, people knew geometry, but they learned it in adventures instead of textbooks. Per of Ameter played a game created by the Countess Areana in which they figured the outside edges and inner pieces of shapes made with the same size squares. Their skill at this game allowed them to solve several mysteries on the Isle of Immeter through a few escapes, as the island was protected by a sea dragon. Finally Per solved all the puzzles, and the sea dragon delivered a locked from the Countess Areana giving Per ownership of the island. When the two children returned from their adventure, Sir Cumference named the measurement of the outside edge of any flat, straight sided shape perimeter, after Per, who now was the Lady of Immeter. The inside of the shapes was called Area, after the Countess Areana who designed all the puzzles they solved. And so, as you will know if you have read this book, this is a cute, abbreviated account of the true way geometry really evolved.
A handy chart on the last page explains in mathematical terms the formulas described in the book.
Great book for the classroom.......2007-05-21
The students enjoy this series of books and learn something along the way!
Fun and educational.......2007-01-18
My nine-year-old loved the earlier books in the Sir Cumference series, and was excited to hear that a new one was available. He enjoyed it thoroughly, for both the story and the math content. This series of books ranks near the top of his favorites list.

A WONDERFUL, "must-have" book for young girls!.......2007-07-23
Rarely do I ever just go on and on about a book as I read tons and our family/kids love to read as well, but this is the most precious book for young girls and their relationship to God you will EVER find. It is a WONDERFUL, WONDERFULLY touching book that is full of truth and may have you in tears as the love of God for your daughter just pours out of each page.
Each page is set up with God's letter from Him to her on the left side along with a verse, and her prayer in response on the right. There are quite a few pages and it is bound well and beautifully printed.
Perfect for reading at night to your child rather than just giving to them to read on their own, it's one-page 'chapters' are perfect for bedtime, or before prayers, or as a mother or dad devotional time with your child. My daughter actually asked me to read it with her at bedtime - Me reading the God portions and her the prayers in response.
You might worry that this is just another "Prncess-marketing gimmick book" to make money ala Disney, but that couldn't be farther from the truth! This is the meat of God's word and His desire to know your little girl...It will cause her to read the Bible and want to know God better. I too, worried a bit that it would follow that same, self-centered, "You are my princess" theme that we are always fighting against, but soon realised that this book offers many of it's own correctives to this kind of thinking. Good of the author to realise this and address it early on!
We are so looking forward to the boys version, "God's Mighty Warrior" that should be coming out soon by the same author. If you have boys it will probably be as good as this one! Buy it, read it, give tons of them away. It is easily the best $$ I have spent on a book in a long time.
His Mighty Warrior: A Treasure Map from Your King
Thank you Sheri for a wonderful book!!!
A Treasure!.......2007-05-09
An invaluable tool to teach a girl to love the Word of God. Each section is a letter from God (the King) to his daughter (the princess). Each is based on a scripture that teaches about Godly character and ends with a prayer. I've found it a wonderful way to teach my daughter to understand God's Word and treasure it as well. A must-read for every true princess!
EXCELLENT!!!!.......2007-03-08
What a great book! Tell your little girl that she is God's little princess. NOT A PRETEND PRINCESS! We are all God's princesses! My twin girls love it, they are 6 years old. It's almost like a bible study for little girls. A++++

Great philosophy behind it.......2007-09-28
I half-expected this book to be a children's book but it actually contained philosophical ideals people would often ask themselves in life. Highly recommended
Amazing........2007-08-08
I place this on a par, in it's own way, with Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet.
Deeply meaningful, cloaked in a tale of a child. I read part of it at my mother's funeral. Not that it is a sad story, per se. But there was not a dry eye in the house when I finished.
What it has to say on loving and on loss is absolutely worth more than this book costs and every minute you spend reading it.
Magical journey..........2007-06-13
My first book ever was The little prince. It was my dad's first present on the day I was born. Since then I have read it at least 20 times, and every time I read it it delivers a different message. I think this is a book that will be enjoyed by kids as well as adults. This french version is beautiful, and very similar to the one my dad gave me in spanish. Has the original drawings with nice colors. As someone stated this book can be interpreted in different ways and that's why it's so magical. I consider it one of the best short stories ever. A true masterpice.
Classic in any lanugage.......2007-03-12
I've read this book many times, sometimes in English, sometimes in French. I've read it for pleasure. I've studied it. I've taught it. I love it. The fox's secret is an important lesson for us all and one I appreciate being reminded of. I recommend this book to anyone, it's been translated into over 100 languages. (It's been translated more than any book besides the Bible I've heard.) I love sharing it with people which is why I will teach it as long as I'm teaching and I will read it aloud to my children when I have them.
A story for all ages.......2007-02-01
Although I believe that this book is for everyone young or old, I think that "grown ups" will appreciate it more than kids.
The book has passages that remind the adult of the innocent little kid within.
In a lot of ways, the wisdom in the story comes as somehow a reality check.
In depth the book is about life, relationships (the little prince and the rose), friendships (the little prince and the fox) and human caracteristics...
I have read this story so many times and every time I discover something "new". This book is a work of art!
If you speak French, I recommend the French language edition over the English one.

Book Description
That is, it usually means those things. But when you're Princess Mia, nothing happens the way it's supposed to. For one thing, Grandmère seems determined to prove that boy (or Michael, as he is commonly known) isn't the right one for the crown princess of Genovia. And Mia isn't having much luck proving otherwise, since Michael has a history of being decidedly against any kind of exploitative commercialization (Valentine's Day, as it is commonly known).
Boris can declare his love openly to Lilly, and even Kenny comes through with a paltry Whitman's Sampler. So why can't Michael give in to Cupid and tell Mia he loves her—preferably with something wrapped in red or pink and accompanied by roses—in time to prove he's Mia's true prince?
Customer Reviews:
Aww. I love those two kids........2007-03-20
An enjoyable, very short book. Does not take long to read at all. Mia as usual is totally insane, though she seems a bit stronger and willing to let some things just happen, than totally freaking out. She is stuck b/c Michael has already declared that he doesn't beleive in the propaganda for Valentine's day, but at the same time Mia really wants to give him one since it is their first one together.
Its funny and the ending is very sweet.
Good read.......2007-03-10
My daughter appreciated this as a Valentine's Day gift and is enjoying the peripheral storyline.
Short and Sweet.......2007-02-27
I really enjoyed this book, it follows the format of the traditional fractional princess diaries. Mia starts freaking when she finds out Michael hates Valentine's Day, complains to us and Tina for a few dozen pages, we get the usual rift between Lilly and Boris. At the end, everyone ends up happy on Valentine's Day, except Lana, who's mentioned in about 2 pages of this book. My one qualm is that Grandmere seems like a rich dotty old lady here, following the advice of an astrologist, rather than the snappy down-to-earth b**** we're all used to. But overall, it was a nice read, and a good way to pass the time waiting for PD IX.
Valentine Princess.......2007-02-19
I was so happy with this book. It was funny, entertaining, and ultimately a fast read. And I mean really fast... I don't even think this book took me an hour.
Overall, I think all of Meg's Princess Diarie's fans are going to love this book...
A quick, entertaining novel full of Cabot's signature wit.......2007-01-27
Mia is on her way to Genovia when she discovers a time travel ticket (well, actually her old journal) that takes her back to her very first Valentine's Day with Michael. What a find!
The first entry is for February 11th and tells how Mia met her grandmother's astrologist, Dr. Steve. Dr. Steve predicts grave danger plus a marriage proposal for Grandmere while Mia secretly scoffs. Mia doesn't believe it, yet she fears hearing her own forecast. Dr. Steve is insistent on telling it to her anyway. Mia is sure that Dr. Steve's predictions are foolishness; however, she is dismayed to hear him foretell that she will have a caboting relationship with a Leo. Mia screams that he can only be wrong since her beloved Michael is a Capricorn, and even suspects that Grandmere has put Dr. Steve up to his predictions simply because Grandmere doesn't like Michael.
When Mia mentions the forecast to her friend, Tina Hakim Baba, Tina urges Mia to fight for Michael. She's horrified that Mia and Michael have made no Valentine's Day plans and says that Dr. Steve's prediction will come true for sure if Mia doesn't plan the perfect romantic celebration.
When Mia casually brings up the holiday of romance with her best friend Lilly in front of Michael, she's dismayed to hear both of them diss it as a crass commercial ritual that they refuse to take part in. Tina insists that Mia must change Michael's mind about Valentine's Day by making it wonderful for him. The pressure is on, and Mia is in a quandary. How can she give a gift to someone without making it seem like she wants one in return? And how on earth can she give a Valentine's Day present to someone who hates the holiday?
Meanwhile, Grandmere is spending too much time with Dr. Steve. Mia is worried. Is Dr. Steve conning her royal grandmother?
This very quick read is pure enjoyment for Meg Cabot's many fans, with her signature rapid-fire wit and intriguing subplots. And, of course, it's full of heart. What could be more appropriate to the spirit of Valentine's Day?

Customer Reviews:
Charmingly predictable..........2007-08-06
... and I mean that in a good way. Ms. Pierce seemingly pulls characters from 20th century fantasy central casting and does a great job building a compelling page turner. This is light fare when so many authors seem to be driven to "go dark" to the point of being just plain depressing.
great book.......2007-04-06
My daughter (15 years) loves everything written by Tamora Pierce. Great author!
Action, true love...and surprises in every corner.......2007-03-30
Aly of Pirates Swoop is working for the Balitangs who are now very close to the thrown. The trickster god Kyprioth has left her to protect the Balitangs and to get their eldest daughter Sarai on the thrown...but things are about to get messy. After many surprising deaths of the rulers Sarai is coming next in line. But things turn around fast.
"By the tim e you can free yourself, my boy will have his hearts desire, Kyprioth will have his comeuppance, and YOU will have some work to do."
Stupid! Aly told herself. Stupid, over confident, blind!
Sarai is gone now and Aly desperatly needs to get a half raka girl on the thrown but...what about Dove?
I think everyone will enjoy this book. It's exciting, romantic and surprising. I hope you all take a chance and read this book.
A splendid book!.......2006-11-24
This book is definetley the best of the Trickster's duet! I fell in love with the story starting at page 1. She's finally gotten her mother and fathers trust to become and actual spy and she's about to finish her job by making Sarah the part-raka queen. Yet Aly is tricked by another god and Sarah can't go on the thrown. But Dove a young girl smarter than most think is next in line for queen. Will Aly fulfil her duty or will disaster come to her? Find out in the sequeal TRICKSTER'S QUEEN!

And I thought the first one was amazing.......2006-10-25
After the book Trickster's Choice, I was wondering how a sequel could possibly live up to the amazing book I had just put down. My worry was totally unfounded as I found myself gripped with the tale that lay before me.
I have to admit, there are few books that captivate me like this one did. The relationships between the characters, the imaginative plot and the on-the-mark dialogue kept me wanting more. And though the mystical land of Tortall has been the setting of more than a dozen of Pierce's books, this one breathed new life into a country I now wish I lived in. And Aly's relationship with Nawat develops in such an extraordinary way that I now watch the crows outside my window a little more carefully to see if my true love is among them.
I have read this book twice now and can't wait to pull it out to read it again. Most of Pierce's books are published at quatrains, but she claims this set will only consist of two books. I say, bring us more Aly!
