Disney Songbook.......2007-09-19
Beautiful songbook. Great color photographs from the Disney movies. Large collection from old to recent movies. Excellent accompaniments with singable arrangements. I highly recommend. Several songs from this book are listed in the Federation Contest List for Musical Theater vocal solos.
Great to have, but missing some favorites.......2007-04-20
This book was the best I could find to give me music and lyrics for a wide variety of songs that my 2 yr old knows now, as well as may become familiar with in the future.
But there are two flaws: It is missing some favorite songs, and not all the verses and intro riffs are shown with the music, so you'll have to improvise if you have a drama star in your home.
The missing favorites especially seem to be from the older movies I grew up with, such as 'Never smile at a Crocodile". I presume these have been dropped over the years to make room for newer Disney tunes, but frankly, I don't have much use for the theme to "Brother Bear" for example.
Also, not all the verses and are shown with the actual sheet music. Instead, the complete lyric is shown after the song, with the music published only for the excerpt. This is annoying if you need to sing the complete song with your child.
New Illustrated Treasury of Disney Songs.......2007-04-11
Nice compilation of Disney Songs. Easy to read for the beginner pianist and vocalist.
So many quality songs for the money.......2005-09-29
I enjoy sitting down and playing/singing these original songs from the disney movies. They are the original arrangements and the repetoire spans from the early movies such as Mickey Mouse to the latest Hunchback of Notre Dame. This is such a great find!
Treasury of Songs.......2000-07-06
I am a young pianist and I am at an Intermediate-Advanced level. I found this book challenging and fun. It can be used for the guitar, piano, and vocals and contains many classic Disney songs. I would recomend this book to ametuer musicians and all Disney fans.

Why is Disney Here?.......2001-10-10
There are pluses and minuses to this edition of traditional rhymes, but mostly minuses. The pluses are that the drawings are indeed very engaging for the baby/toddler age group that the book is meant for. Also, the rhymes selected are of good quality and, as another reviewer wrote, free of some of the darker ones you find in older collections.
That being said, why is Disney here? Disney did not invent or originally draw the Hundred Acre Woods characters, nor did it have a hand in the nursery rhymes. The original drawings by A.A. Milne had greater depth (mostly appreciated by the adult reader, but who knows?) and Disney's tendency to introduce itself and it's products everywhere has become annoying. This would be find if these products didn't carry it's strange social agenda with it (page nine finds Pooh guarding his house with *a gun*, albeit a pop-gun, but a gun nontheless. What could be more anti-Pooh?).
Lastly, the title is somewhat misleading--the rhymes are not "of" Winne the Pooh (although there are lyrics aplenty in Milne's original) but tradition ones.
In sum, this collection's presentation detracts from Milne, yet does a satisfactory job of selecting poems. Two stars for that (selecting poems is the easier half of the job).
Another winner from Disney Press.......2001-04-06
I could not be more pleased with the content and illustrations in this book. Classic nursery rhymes with pictures of Pooh and the whole gang. Many fun and educational pictures to go along with rhymes like " Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes ". This book leaves out some of the de-moralizing stories you might find in other books that just seem out of date and leaves in great coordination games and encouraging rhymes. I would definitley reccomend this book to any parent or grandparent. Five stars just are not enough.
Adorable illustrations of Pooh and friends add to rhymes.......2000-06-29
The illustrations of Winnie the Pooh and his friends work beautifully with the nursery rhymes that we have grown up with and cherish.
fun, easy to remember songs for young children.......1998-12-17
Great book! I purchased it for a 3 year old who could not get enough of it. the pictures mixed with the short easy tunes, are a perfect combination to keep children entertained for hours.
A book of classic nursery rhymes with Pooh illustrations........1998-10-10
This is an outstanding book for children who love Pooh. It is filled with classic nursery rhymes such as Hickory Dickory Dock, London Bridge, and Hush Little Baby. This book is a favorite with my two year old daughter, she can sing along with about a quarter of the songs and we have only had the book two weeks. If you are looking for a book of nursery rhymes your search is over.

Fantasic girls collection.......2007-05-30
Yes, it's wieldy, but my 27lb three year old will carry this one out of her library for me to read these long stories! We got 2 of the Disney movies after reading the stories (Mermaid and Cinderella) and she identifies the story details and pics/photos from this lovely book. Nice full page pics on every facing page.
Only criticism is after the Cinderella story there is no wedding picture or one of the prince and herself together which my daughter asked for.
Fun for Everyone.......2007-01-10
I am starting a collection of books for my future children and this is part of it. I read all the stories and I loved all the pictures. This is the perfect book for beginning readers and Disney lovers.
The complete Disney Princess stories, chapter by chapter.......2004-02-20
This has been a GREAT book for us! We got it for our 4 year old daughter for Christmas and now, 2 months later we are STILL reading at least 1 chapter at naptime and 2 chapters at bedtime EVERYDAY! I can speak for my daughter and most of her 4 year old girlfriends: They are SOOOO into the Disney Princesses--the pictures in this book are FABULOUS; while the stories are complete (identical to the movies). We don't let our daughter watch the movies (she is SUPERSENSITIVE to scary stuff) and yet the stories give a vivid picture (while allowing us to edit out the more graphic words as needed: i.e. "kill, die, etc.). On those nites when the "fearsome fours" are intense, she even tells us to skip over the pages with the witches or tells us not to say "Malificent,...because I may have nitemares." I cannot recommend this book more highly as it has ALL the princess stories, beautiful pictures and will be a keepsake to pass on for generations!
Great Introduction to "longer" stories for little ones........2003-02-19
Most of the stories in this book are about 100 pages long. For each page of text there is a beautiful, Disney-worthy illustration. The stories are the classic triumphs of good over evil that the Disney generations grew up with.
The stories are split into chapters, which is a nice introduction to longer stories for little ones. I thought that my three year old might be too young for this type of book, and that I would save it until she is older. I was wrong.
I am currently working my way through the book with my 3.5 year old. She knows that she will hear one and sometimes two chapters per night, and then have to wait for more. She is very interested in the stories and loves looking at the illustrations.
I can't think of a better way to introduce discussion about "what will happen next" than stories that are divided into chapters. I can't think of a more pleasant bedtime diversion than this book.
Squeaky-clean princesses!!.......2002-01-30
If you like your fairy tales uncomplicated, this is the book to have. It is a great, sturdy hardcover with beautiful illustrations. There are only six stories, but they are a bit more expanded than they are in "Disney Princess Collection" and they are also broken up into chapters, which is handy for reading out loud. Enjoy!

Toy Story Carry Along Treasury.......2007-01-05
My daughter loves the Toy Story movies. This book follows the story closely and has great photos. Since it is a board book the pages won't get ripped and it will last a long time.
Great take-along!.......2006-11-15
This book has been a favorite to bring along in the car, whether it is for long trips or even short ones. The children get to read about their favorite movie, instead of watching the whole movie! It's been great! And the handle means they can carry it, one less thing for me to carry!
FABULOUS!.......2006-03-20
My son loves this book. The handle makes it super easy for him to carry and he loves to take it with him everywhere.
A beyond treasure.......2005-06-14
This book is great for the rough and tumble child. My son loves this book and since its super sturdy, I don't worry about him destroying it. The illustrations are incredible and the book is constructed really well. A great find for the buzz lightyear fan.
Great carry along book!.......2004-06-27
Whoever thought of the idea of putting a handle on a hard cover book is a genius. It's perfect for a 2-3 year old to tote the book everywhere with them. My 3 year old son loves Buzz & Woody and this was a great gift. He carries it to him to bed, and carries it with him when he gets up. Wished they had more Disney books with the handle!

Very happy with this set.......2006-01-20
I ordered it when my son was 20 months old, then I divorced and left the states, and it took my ex 1.5 yrs to send the books over. They arrived yestarday morning and I read first story to him last night. Stories are short in terms of text, but illustrations are large and colorful and spread over 50 or so pages each. Loads of pictures to keep the child's attention, and loads of details for him to notice - bunnies, birds, trees. I re-told the stories in Croatian as we have not yet started english with him :(( but I am hoping he would be reading from these books for years to come, in English as well. My son seems to like them, and I am very happy to have gotten them for him..
Wonderful read.......2005-12-20
Both this book and Volume 1 have provided hours of reading for my niece. They are enjoyable classic Disney stories, with beautiful illustrations. An excellent addition to any child's library.
A Disney Classic.......2004-06-13
Along with the first volume of this set, this book has provided my 2 year old son with hours of bedtime story enjoyment. Although the first volume covers more conventional Disney stories (Cinderella, Lion King etc.), this volume covers what I would consider Disney adventures (Toy Stories 1 and 2, Tarzan) and animal stories (101 Dalmations, Lady and the Tramp, The Fox and the Hound). They seem a strange compination but, taken individually, all of the tales are perfectly presented.
The cover featuring characters from each story allows the child to decide which story they want before the book is even opened. Once inside each story takes around 64 pages and is fully illustrated in striking full colour and to the standard expected from Disney. Bizarrely, Toy Story 2 is illustrated while the original Toy Story is accompanied by stills from the film. The text is large and simple without sacrificing the general plot of the film and each story is divided into three chapters to create 'bite-sized' reading sessions.
I was very impressed with the introduction for parents that covers beautifully how these books (and books in general) can be best used as a tool for learning. Not preachy, just helpful!
Right Cover, Wrong Book Description by Amazon!.......2004-01-21
First, if you look closely at the cover of book, you can see the cartoon pics on it don't match the description. That's because this is Volume 2, which actually has the stories for 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Tarzan, Lady & the Tramp, Toy Story 2, and Fox & the Hound.
That said, both this version (this is Volume 2 being sold, according to the ISBN#) and Volume 1 are great books for your Disney-lovin' kids. The stories are told concisely (but don't sacrifice plot) and match the movies' storylines, are each about 65 pages long (with a lot of the original dialogue from the movies) and the pics are fabulous: there are several pages with full page pictures of scenes from the movies, and I don't think there is a page in the book without a picture on it. My young children love looking through these books and having them read to them. And the text is a nice, big size to make it easy for those fairly new to reading.
While the stories themselves may be too long for very young children (and they do contain the darker elements that some of the Disney movies have), the pictures are large and brightly colored enough to entertain even the youngest child. The book is a large size (8.5x10) and the hardcover is sturdy; just watch out for those little fingers ripping the pages!
All-in-all a great buy for those wanting to get their young ones into reading and away from the TV. Get Volume 1 if you can, too!

This is book is lots of fun.......2000-03-29
This is a wonderful book of Disney songs. It's easy and it's a lot of fun. Some of the songs are shortened but other than that they're mostly all there. The book goes up to the Aladdin songs. It also gives a history to the music throughout the years of Disney films. There are a few full page illustrations and little ones next to every song title. It's a wonderful book and I recommend it to every Disney song lover.

One heck of a book!!!!!!!.......2002-09-15
I love this book called "Disney's Treasury of Children's Classics: Grom the Fox & the Hound to the Hunchback of Notre Dame & Gina Ingogila is the author of this book.
My favorite story in this book is Beauty & The Beast & Beauty & The Beast reminds me of The Indian in the Cupboard.
In Beauty & The Beast, Gaston stabed the beast in the back so he could get rid of the beast so Gaston could marry Belle. Then he falls off the roof. Then the beast at the end of the story becomes a prince.
I loved this book!

Great book for kids (and adults, as well).......2002-10-14
My 2 1/2-year-old discovered Pooh on the Disney video. However, she wanted to hear about his adventures at bedtime, so I bought this book. Now she actually prefers it to the video, which makes everyone happy. Of all of her Pooh books, this is her favorite.
Pooh, Gotta Love Him.......2001-08-27
I have been reading Pooh stories to my children for many years. When my oldest son was little, Pooh was his nickname. How great to have these wonderful stories to give to my grandchildren. It is like passing on part of my sons childhood to their children. Both of my grandchildren love Pooh just as much as their Daddy's did. Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and the rest will never go away. I have to confess, I'm the Nana, but I love reading these stories to my grandchildren. They are my favorites too.
If you like the movie, you'll love the book!.......1998-07-11
We bought the movie for my daughter's 2nd Birthday. She loves the movie so much that she has almost the whole thing memorized, but the real fun started when we found the book. She sits down and "reads" the book herself. This book is so close the the movie that she can repeat the story as she looks at the pictures in the book. What more could a parent ask for than a book that children can relate to and encourage them to read instead of watch TV. Thank You.
