But this kind of school is already out of control, imagine the whole thing, had a real "read" going for bathtime, and not a warm one either... I'll show you when its time to get out!
Three sided war - Cobra command has castle grey skull, trolls have the sub. Who cares about the "other" side. Didn't even get dressed, just hopped into bed, read the whole thing. Mom was worried but why even? Towels are blankets, not pants mom!

Customer Reviews:
My two year old's fave book.......2007-08-23
This book is great. It is the first book my two year old "read" himself...and my four year old loves it as well. Classic read - we like it so much we just bought it for our new niece, confident she will grow to love it as much as her cousins do! I'd give it six stars if I could!
Beware if you don't already have nighttime fears.......2007-07-12
Without much forethought, I pulled this book out of the closet to read to my nearly 4-year-old. Despite the child's unfortunate use of a weapon, a toy gun, to scare the monster/nightmare, this might have been an amusing way to talk about talk about 'things that bump in the night'. Unfortunately, in our house, it created worries about 'nightmares'. My child has no clue what a nightmare is, just that it's something she should be afraid of, causing an anxiety about falling asleep. After several discussions about the fact that a nightmare is a bad dream (like my childhood nightmare of losing my blankie), and how to handle them, my daughter continues to ask, "Mama, what color your nightmare?" English is my daughter's second language, making abstract concepts a bit more difficult to grasp. I wish I'd considered that before reading the book. Please don't read this to your child unless you're sure she/he can understand the message.
My daughter loves this book.......2007-03-26
My almost three year old daughter thinks this book is great. It is wonderful how the feared is befriended. The pictures are wonderful and very evocative. Enjoy it!
Kids Love This Book.......2007-01-12
When my daughter was two she quickly memorized this book and created and repeatedly used a play on words that tickled her pink. I've read it a zillion times to her and others and am prompted with the word, "again" when I am done. The pictures are very detailed and tell a story all their own.
I recently bought this book for another 2 year old who would choose this book over all the others on the shelf. My daughter is now 21. This book is timeless.
Fantastic book for eager beginning readers.......2006-11-11
My grandson loved this book! He's beginning to read and was ready for books with a bit more of a plot and more than a single line on a page. He loved this book. It appealed to his imagination and had him in giggles looking forward to what he'd find on the next page. I recommend it highly for those children reading at the first - second grade level.

A page-turning thriller!.......2007-03-16
White is for Magic by Laurie faria Stolarz is a thrilling adventure, sure to keep you turning the pages. Stacy, a sophomore in an English Prep school, has reoccurring nightmares. But this time, they're not predicting future deaths of classmates, but merely inhabited by the people of Stacy's past. Little does she know, her dreams are trying to tell her something. Of course things don't get better when a student mysteriously appears on campus to warn Stacy of her troubles soon to come. Together, they have to use magic to help them survive.
I loved this book because I couldn't predict the ending. When Stacy met Jacob, the mysterious new boy, I couldn't make up my mind! Was he there to help? Why bother? He didn't even know her! I would recommend this book to any reader who loves a mysterious read. (I also recommend the other books in the series. Blue is for Nightmares, Silver is for Secrets , and Red is for Remembrance.) This book has small amount of mature material but the story itself is powerful. Read this brilliant book and travel with Stacy through her adventures and enjoy.

White is for Magic by Laurie faria Stolarz is a thrilling adventure, sure to keep you turning the pages. Stacy Brown, a sophomore in an English Prep school, has reoccurring nightmares. But this time, they're not predicting future deaths of classmates, but merely inhabited by the people of Stacy's past. Little does she know, her dreams are trying to tell her something. Of course things just get worse when a student mysteriously appears on campus to warn Stacy of her troubles soon to come. Together, they have to use magic to help them survive.
I loved this book because it was near impossible to predict the ending. Right when I thought I had it all figured out, I realized, I was completely off. When Stacy met Jacob, the mysterious new boy, I couldn't make up my mind! Was he there to help? Why show up at all? He didn't even know her! I would recommend this book to any reader who loves a good mysterious read. (I also recommend the other books in the series. Blue is for Nightmares, Silver is for Secrets , and Red is for Remembrance. White is for Magic is the second book in the series.)
This book has small amount of mature material but the story itself is strong and powerful. Read this brilliant book and travel with Stacy through her adventures and enjoy.
White is for Magic.......2007-01-16
I am pleased with the time that it took to get this book. My daughter enjoys reading and re-reading the series. This book was a good choice for a young teen as a gift.
Terrific and very gripping.......2006-05-06
This book was great!
It took me two days to read and honestly the second day was needed because I was lying in bed too scared to continue! There is loads of suspense in it!
It begins with our old friend Stacey who is back at school with Drea and Amber (who will definitley earn some good laughs) one year after Veronica Leeman's death and Drea's crazy stalker has been put in juvy, well since Veronicas death parents have taken kids out of this one prestigious school and now a whole bunch of 'ghost groupies' have taken their places and are obssesed with Stacey's past and the entire Veronica scandal.
And then, Stacey wakes up feeling as though she may just puke...(faintly familiar? haha) and she knows something is not right. She is having nightmares about Maura the little girl she let die and Veronica. She recieves threats again and the books begins its wild 'who did it?' game where EVERYONE is the suspect, even this new witch kid Stacey meets who supposedly is having nightmares about HER.
The ending is awesome and Stacey even finds out some very intresting things about her mother. The final showdown with the REAL killer is so suspensfull I was practically falling out of bed with terror! And it is also very pleasing, not something particularly predictable and so therefore VERY satisfying.
SO I recommend this book and hope someone else enjoys it as much as me. :)
Another Success!.......2006-02-07
The second volume in the "Blue" series, Stolarz continues on with her captivating writing style in the story of Stacie Brown. This is another book that's hard to put down until you're done and is an easy read. The best twist is the introduction of another Witch and the bait-and-switch of who we think are trying to get Stacie. I take a star off because of the slight predictability of the climax and the revelation of the antagonist, whom we get very little foreknowledge of until towards the end. But nonetheless, this is a terrific book. If you liked "Blue is for Nightmares," then you will love "White is for Magic."

I love this one!!!!.......2007-01-29
This is another one of r.l. stines best goosebumps books. This book is about a brother and a sister (I can't remember their names) Who live in a house with their mom and dad. In the book the kids mother goes away and now there with their father. While the kids mother is gone they notice that there father isn't acting like he normally does. When the kids go into the basement to see whats going on they see a big surprise. To see what else happens you have to read this awesome book. This book also has a twisted ending to it. This book didn't really make me feel scared as I was reading it, but for the kids in the book it would be scary for them. Read this book, it is great!!!!
This Book Will Grow on You!.......2006-10-17
Stay Out of the Basement is the second in the Goosebumps Series and we are becoming quite familiar with R.L. Stein's writing at this point, and without hesitation, I think he's about the equivalent to Stephen King and/or Twilight Zone/or The Outer Limits for kids...his stories are always slightly creepy, seem to have slightly campy leanings, almost too outlandish to be believable and always with a twist at the end that leaves you wondering.
Stay Out of the Basement is no exception...in this volume we meet Margaret and Casey Brewer (and their parents, naturally), as we join them we discover that Dr. Brewer has lost his job at the University and is continuing his work in the basement. At this point the mother conveniently has to go out of town to care for a sick relative, leaving the two kids alone with the good Dr. and his strange behavior as he becomes increasingly distant and obsessed with his work. It's only after Casey and Margaret and their neighbor disobey Dr. Brewer's strict orders not to go in the basement that they discover just how strange his work is and just how obsessed with it he is.
For me, Stay Out of the Basement isn't as creepy as the first book in the series, or even as creepy as some of his other work that I have read, but as part of a series designed to give the reader goosebumps, I think it's a fine addition. The ending as always takes a slight twist from what you think it should, and I rather like this about Stein's writing style. I give it a B-, it's entertaining, but fairly predictable. We're looking forward to reading more in the series!
Really Scary.......2006-04-17
I loved this book especially because the main character has the same name as me... Brewer. It was really scary and I couldn't guess what happens next. You must read this book.
Something's Waiting In the Dark..........2006-02-07
Stay Out of the Basement is the second book in the Goosebump's series. It is also one of my favorites. Stay Out of the Basement is about the Brewer family. Dr. Brewer is a botanist who gets fired from his job because some of his expeirements went wrong. When Dr. Brewer starts working in the basement at home the family never see him. Casey and Margaret are Dr. Brewer's kids. When their mom has to go take care of her sister in Tucson, strange things start happening with their father. Then they start hearing strange sounds from the basement. Casey and Margaret go down to investigate. They could never have imagined what they found down there...
Goosebupms Rule.......2006-01-08
This Is The second Goosebumps book in the series. And it is really good, so far these books are good. So check it out.

This book is awesome.......2007-05-23
Wolf Rider is an amazing story about a high schooler named Andy Zadinsky. One day he got a phone call. It wasn't just an ordinary phone call; someone said that he had just killed a girl named Nina Klemmer. The guy on the other line said that his name was Zeke. Andy's friend, Paul, was next to him when he got the call and he called the police, but they said it was just a prank call. Paul also thought the call was a prank. At that point everybody thought the call was a prank, even Andy's dad! Everybody thought he was crying wolf, except for Andy himself! Will Andy find out if the call is true? Will he find out why Zeke called him and not another person? Does the description that Zeke said fit Nina? As Andy investigates further, he might find himself on the edge of trouble or even hurt! This suspenseful story was by Avi. I loved it and I would recommend this book to people of all ages! I liked this book because it was super cool and I could relate to it! I usually don't read a lot but this book was different! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! If you ever get a call like Andy, never give up on finding who it is, it might actually be real!
Implausible.......2007-04-25
Wolf Rider was recommended to me by our local librarian, so I was expecting a well-written story. I was truly disappointed. The whole story is based on the premise that no adult authority figure takes a responsible teenager seriously when he reports receiving a phone call from a man who claims he has killed someone. His father, a college professor, who supposedly has a very close and positive relationship with his son, just blows him off. Then the police, school counselor and others begin to think the teenager himself is to blame, and is suffering from emotional distress over the death of his mom a year ago. But these conclusions are never justified by the boy's actions, which are reasonable.
Eventually the boy becomes totally disillusioned with the authorities as well as his father. I'm afraid that youngsters reading this might find the story more plausible than it is, and also become disillusioned and less likely to share their concerns with trustworthy adults.
This is a depressing story, as well as very implausible.
wolf rider reveiw .......2007-03-01
Andy a 15-year-old boy who receives a crank call. When he answers the call the so called zeke said I had just killed somebody. His father doesn't believe him so he has to go to the school counselor. She tells him about the boy who cried wolf so he decides to unmask the culprit. The theme of this book is verybody has a hero in them. Avi is a great writer he wrote this book to entertain the reader. With an adventure /mystery story I really liked it I would recommend this book to middle shcoolers and up. It was a really great book
Have fun reading :] jordan
Wolf Rider.......2007-02-27
the phone rang three times before andy picked it up

andy zadinski a 15 year old boy in highschool goes to investigate on a call he gets one night and finds out more then he can handle. when andy tells his father about is crying wolf.
when andy is setting up an appoitment for nina and zeke andy relizes he is in the ride of his life.
i belive avi wrote this book for someone who needs help finding strenght to deal with the loss of a family member or friend. i would recomend this book to anyone who wants a horror thriler or someone who might need help dealing with a traagic happening and for them to not give up in life
Wolf Rider Book Review.......2007-01-16
Book Review for Wolf Rider
This is and amazing book written by AVI. She is an amazing author. This book has a lot of interesting aspects. It's full of some unanswered questions. Most questions you have to figure out yourself.
This novel is full of determination coming from a young man named Andy Zadinski, he is the main character. His determination is toward showing everyone that "Zeke" is real. This man Zeke called Andy and started saying that he killed someone and asked Andy what he should do now. Andy started talking to the man and asking him questions. Then the man on the other line hung up and Andy called the police. The police told him it was probably a prank but Andy and I believed not.
There are a lot of characters mentioned in this book. But there are only few main characters. First there is Andy, I told you a lot about him already, but there is more to be mentioned. Andy is a young man, with a lot of courage and determination. He sets his mind to one thing and doesn't let it go until people believe him. Now I should tell you about this mysterious Zeke guy. I think he is kind of freaky. He sounds like an old man. But you never know, it could be just a mean prank call.
Andy's house is kind of big. Andy has a big room too. He and his dad spend most of their time out of the house or hiding away in their rooms. Nina's house is kind of big too. She doesn't spend much time there though. Nina spends most of her time at the university. The university is where she goes to school and she also works as a librarian. It's got a lot of students, rooms, and teachers.
I think that's all I'm going to tell you about this book because I will probably give the ending away (that's the best part). It's best told by AVI. So you better go check it out from your local library. Read this awesome book.

The Devil's Arithmetic.......2007-09-02
Hannah is a young woman, thirteen years old and a fairly normal sounding teenager. She has no true understanding of her family's culture, or of the memories that are in her blood, ones shares and must not forget. Hannah is reborn into Chaya, as she is taken from a normal, rural life in 1942, into one of the Nazi death camps. We watch as the daily struggles for life transform this teenagers understanding of her world, what it has become and what it was. The glimpses of her true time period, the 1980's, are seen as madness in the camps, but she speaks truth. And she remembers the most important gift of all. Chaya gives up her life for Hannah's ancestor, Rivka, so she may escape to live her life. I enjoyed the family future and past connections; it made the book at that more personal since the readers become so close to her extended family, all in both versions of time. The deep emotions this book brings to the surface would take a careful working, well versed teacher. But this book is told in a way that is an accurate, as well as age appropriate way of explaining, in first person, some of the atrocities that humans can do to one another. On page 163, where Hannah is back in her own time and explains to Aunt Eva what the numbers on her arm mean, I almost started crying. What a powerful way to end the book. "J18202. J is for Jew. And 1 because you were alone, alone of the 8 who had been in your family, though 2 was the actual number of them alive..."
Not Enough Depth.......2007-08-26
This was a good book, but it wasn't as informative as I had hoped it would be.
Great book...made me cry.......2007-03-21
I read this in 7th grade some years ago and I couldn't help but cry in class and hope in the future this doesn't happen again. At that time, I knew about the holocaust pretty well and seeing a movie called Paperclips the previous year I say I knew enough, but this book showed it in a simpler way. It was in a view of a girl around my age then or so and it was so very emotional and powerful. This is a great book to read or lend to a friend to show them a part of a history. You learn that Jews are people aswell like any others and they can be a spanish jew, english jew, american jew and so on. It isn't an ethnic/race, it's a religion. Killing Jews then is like killing Catholics right now or any other religion. Jews did nothing wrong, but even today I know some people that hate them, but for no reason, only because they were taught to or what their family believed. After I lended this book to some friends, they understood more.
Overall, this is a great book, which can not only be enjoyed by teenagers, preteens and such, but for adults aswell. You understand it more than by just reading history books, this gives you a story to go along with it and it stays in your mind and doesn't go away like when you study for a one time exam and it is no use to you after you ace the test. This is a really must read.
The Devil's Arithmetic.......2007-03-13
The more that are added the more that are subtracted...
"The devil's arithmetic," that was what Gitl called it. Everyday, more and more Zungangi arrive at the camps. Everyday more Jews are chosen. The more in the camps the less in the world. Adding and subtracting. The children think the work is hard, but the Jews hated it because they subtracted lives and added Jews to the horror.
It all started when Hannah, a young Jewish girl, resented going to her family's traditions. She symbolically opened the door to the prophet Elijah after she drank too much wine at her family's Passover Seder. She is transported back in time to 1942, just before the Holocaust. The Nazis came and took the Jews away. Hannah tried to warn people about the concentration camps but nobody believed her. Hannah learned why all of her relatives were so upset about the numbers on their left arms.
The Devil's Arithmetic, by Jane Yolen, was very descriptive and touching, especially when Chaya makes a sacrifice -a big one- for family, friends, and religion. This was a fabulous insight on what really happened in the Holocaust. This book made you feel like you were really in the concentration camps and you could almost hear the harsh voices and smell the horrible smells of blood and sweat.
We highly recommend this book for readers of all ages. It gives you a whole other opinion on the Holocaust and lets you really know how horrible it was and how many people died long, slow, painful deaths. It makes you cry, laugh, smile, and opens up a whole new point of view.
Sucked Into the Past a review by James, Taylor, Jonahthan, Sebastianne, Rebecca, and Danilo.......2007-03-13
Picture this, you are a thirteen year old girl who hates going to her family Seder. You're forced to go anyway, and you open the door for the prophet Elijah. In the award winning (National Jewish Book Award) novel the Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen, weird things start to happen. Jane Yolen captivates the heart and soul in each and every reader, ensuring that readers will be delighted to the fullest.
The Devil's Arithmetic is about a girl named Hannah at her Passover Seder she opens the door to the prophet Elijah and ends up in a small village in 1942. It's during the second World War, before this Hannah lives in New Rochelle with her father, mother, and little brother. But after that fateful night, when she was hurled into the past she became different. People keep confusing her with someone else, a girl named Chaya. They talk about her parents, dead from Cholera and a place called Lublin. But her parents are fine aren't they? At a wedding,Hannah, the bride, groom, and everyone else are captured by the Nazi's and taken to concentration camps. Once there, Hannah doesn't know past from present. In this book Hannah goes from being selfish to fighting for the Jews, being strong although people have lost all hope, and being brave even though she knows only fate lie ahead. Jane Yolen brings the past into the present with this dynamic book that draws you into the setting. It makes you want to cry, and in the end sigh with relief. This book tells you to never give up and to be grateful for what you have. It is a lesson on how cruel people can really be.
Everyone will enjoy this captivating book about survival. I would recommend this book to kids age 11 and up. People who enjoy history and survival books will appreciate this astounding story about the Holocaust by the wonderful author Jane Yolen.

Best book yet.......2007-06-12
This is book 11 in the Everworld series. I think I like this one the best so far. They've all been great though. This one starts out with Christopher in the mouth of a giant. He is able to escape with much struggle and is helped by a half elf/half human lady named Etain. They are taken to her town which is much like Ireland. Here they find that they have discovered primal forms of technology. Like electricity, cable cars, telegraphs, etc. Christopher soon falls in love with Etain. Everything crumbles when the giant (who is actually there to protect their island) is killed by a gun and Senna evades them. She brings many of her followers from the real world to Everworld armed with weapons and soon the war begins. Want to know how it ends... you have to read the book!
ever world.......2007-04-13
Ever world
Ever world is by K.A. Applegate it is a exciting fanasty book that I recommend to kids 13 and up. It's a really good book with a lot of killing and gory in some parts in the book. The story opens when they are trapped inside ever world and they are trying to find there way out by finding where they have started from when they got there after they got sucked in Etain met a woman David and his friends are trying to get help from her they walk in this valley and they saw a dog so they ran and the dog is trying to attacked them and the woman falls off a cliff and breaks every bone in her body after that the soldiers are trying to kill them and Etain grabs the gun trying to kill the solider.
My first character is Etain because he's tall, strong and skinny he is a magician and he has long hair. His personality traits are protective and by saving his friends by shooting a soilder his behavior is sometimes mean and a really good friend. My other character is David his feelings are a good friend and very strong his description is short, skinny and he has long hair his personality traits are he is a really good friend and his behavior is mean most of the time.
I recommend this book as a really exciting book.
Would they escape ever world?

Book Description
What is the true measure of a champion?
In the nineteenth century a boy named William was born. A sweet, gentle boy -- no one could have guessed the suffering he'd cause, the pain he'd inflict. When, as a young man, he meets a woman called Drusilla -- a strange woman, a woman unlike anyone William has ever known -- he is fundamentally changed. She has turned him. There will be no more William. He is Spike now.
As Spike, he travels Europe with a band of vagabond vampires. Dru, Darla, and Angelus instruct him on his new nature, and from them he learns about that greatest of vampiric enemies, the girl who is chosen to stand up against them, trained to kill them, endowed with the strength it takes to defeat them: the Slayer. Then and there, Spike decides he'll hunt down those slayers. He'll see how many he can find.
Who would have thought then that he'd fight on the Slayer's side? Who would have guessed that Spike, once William, would go out and seek his soul for a slayer? Who would have dared dream he'd fall in love with one?

Super Reader.......2007-08-06
This book is a combination of bits and pieces from both the Buffy and Angel tv series, with Spike as the main character. Mostly anchored around the 1997 events, when he first came to Sunnydale after the death of the Master, trying to find a cure for Drusilla, and in 2002, leading up to his decision to fight for good in 2003.
An enjoyable read, but doesn't break any new ground!.......2007-04-16
The book is an enjoyable read, but don't expect anything new. 90% of this book is quoted directly from previous episodes of Buffy and Angel (althought NOT after Spike's return). It fills in some VERY minor points in between, but it doesn't break any new ground. From that perspective, it was definitely a disappointment. Especially after parting with $6.99. On the other hand, it's nice to have most of the Spike story contained in one book. It's a worthy read, but try to find it at your local library or borrow it from a friend!
James Marsters on the cover HOT HOT HOT.......2007-03-30
Dont even have to open this one to enjoy it. Just look at that view! What a beautiful man!
Okay, besides the drool factor this is also a great read. Spike backstory and Buffy/Spike heat. Really cool book for the Buffy fan. Spike fans... BACK OFF... HE'S MINE!!!
It's Spike! Perfect Book for Spike Fans!.......2007-01-24
As a long-standing Spike fan myself, I can say with confidence that "Spark and Burn" is an awesome book for fellow fans. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", despite it's cheesy show title, is one of the greatest shows of all time, and Spike is probably one of the best characters, next to Buffy herself.
"Spark and Burn" takes you on a journey through certain events on "Buffy", especially during season 2 when Spike and Drusilla first crashed through that 'Welcome to Sunnydale' sign. It jumps back and forth from past events (when Spike was first sired by Drusilla, and the years following his birth as a vampire and his subsequent terrorizing of Europe with Drusilla, Darla, and Angelus) that help illustrate how Spike grew to be the vampire he is today, and current events (which for this book 'current' meant season 2, the first season Spike appeared as a character on Buffy). The book is told entirely from Spike's point of view, which is unique in that most of the Buffy novels that contain Spike use him as a peripheral character. I've always wanted a Buffy novel that was all about Spike, and here it is!
What I loved most, besides Spike, was that the story took you through well-known Buffy episodes (mostly in season 2) and retold them while giving you a whole different perspective on things. It illustrates how Spike first viewed the Slayer, and how his initial animalistic attraction to her (despite the fact that he still intended to kill her), slowly transformed into grudging respect for her skills as a warrior, and eventually grew into a sort of burning need for her (hence the title of the book). Being able to (as a reader) get into Spike's head and really experience the inner workings of this bleached-blonde care bear with fangs is a real trip! It's an incredible journey, and I'd love to see more books like this one!
By the time you finish the book, you're left wishing they had gone further with it, because you are so entranced that you don't want it to end! (at least *I* didn't want it to end). Spike fans, and especially Spike/Buffy fans, will truly get a kick out of this book! Those who aren't necessarily Spike fans might become one after reading this!
Bottom line, it's an awesome book, and I plan to read it several times!
Deja Spike All Over Again.......2006-05-06
This book fails for a number of reasons, none of which is the writing. Gallagher puts in an honest effort, and if good writing was all it took to create a great story, Spark and Burn would be a success. Unfortunately, the problem with the book appears right on the front cover, where we are promised an 'original novel,' and it never goes away.
If you watched the series and read the books (or even the comic books) you have a pretty good idea of Spike's history. First a bad poet, and then a really bad vampire. Drusilla's lover, and then, by an odd twist Buffy's. Villain, tormented soul, and finally, a hero. What Gallagher has done is recap all of this in 240 pages or so, during which you never learn anything very new. Instead we start out in the school basement during Spike's madness after regaining his soul and travel from flashback to even further flashback until this cruel biography is done.
The story, jumping from one frame to another never gels. The truth is, that there really isn't a story here, just an interior monologue and a series of pastiches. Just Simon & Schuster so intent in capitalizing on Spike's draw as a character that they forgot that Spike is interesting because his part in the Buffyverse. Mooning over The Slayer and enduring The Other's attempt to destroy his mind really isn't what Spike is about, and the book has all the fire of a collection of postage stamps from a country you don't care about.
The best I can say is avoid this book, which is a flat effort at best, but keep an eye out for Diana Gallagher's books. Somewhere inside of her is a good book trying to get out. Unfortunately, Spark and Burn isn't it.

So-So Ghostly Mystery.......2007-03-16
Hannah Farichild is not enjoying her summer vacation as much as she would like¡Kshe didn¡¦t get to go away to camp with her friends this year, even worse than that is they aren¡¦t answering her letters. She can hardly wait for summer to be over and for 8th grade to start so that she can see her friends again¡Kbecause they seems to have fallen off the planet, they¡¦ve not written her once the entire summer. One day when she is bored out of her mind she literally runs into Danny Anderson¡Kthat¡¦s strange, she¡¦s never seen him before and yet he says he¡¦s living right next door to her. From there The Ghost Next Door turns into a fast paced ¡§mystery¡¨ as Hannah tries to find out more about Danny, his friends and the mystery behind why he seems to disappear so quickly when she¡¦s trying to follow him. Is he REALLY her new neighbor or is he a ghost?
I figured out the ending to this less than halfway though the book, but it was still interesting to watch Hannah puzzle it all out. The Ghost Next Door is a light, easy read¡Ka easy to solve ¡§mystery¡¨ with the typical twist that all of Stine¡¦s books seem to possess¡Kthings aren¡¦t always what they seem and I rather like that about this series¡Kyou always find yourself wondering what the ¡§surprise twist¡¨ is going to be. º Overall, I give The Ghost Next Door three stars, it¡¦s a quick read with likeable characters (mostly) that is pretty easy to figure out.
Great book!.......2007-01-16
R.L. Stine is such a talented author and I think this is one of his best books. This book is about a girl named hannah and she meets the new boy, danny who just moved in next door to her. After Danny moves in weird things start happening that makes Hannah believe that Danny is a ghost. This book has a huge twist to. You have to read this one, it is one of the best in the series.
"How Come I've Never Seen You Before?".......2006-02-20
Hannah Fairchild has a new neighbor. No big deal right? Well, the problem is that when he moved in she never saw a moving truck, and she lives right next door! When Danny (the new neighbor) moved in, everything got really weird. Everytime Hannah talkes to him he dissapers. To top it all off, a strange shadow figure is following Hannah and knows her name. Can Hannah's new neighbor be the ghost next door?
scary but cool at the same time!.......2006-01-23
I LOVE the series Goosebumps. I think think this is the best Goosebump book I have ever read. This book is about a girl named Hannah that has nothing to do over The long boring summer because all of her friends have gone away on vacation or to summer camp. This book has the coolest lead. Hannah is supposedly having this dream that her whole house was on fire! When Hannah wakes up she went outside to get her bike. A boy crashes into her They talk for a while. He says that he moved into the house in the middle of the night. Hannah thinks it is a little strange that nobody saw him. Is Hannah being haunted by the " The Ghost Next Door?"
Tony's ghost story.......2005-12-03
Have you ever read the exciting book, The Ghost Next Door? After Hannah had a bad dream about a fire, her neighborhood got a little weird. She lives in Big Horn, WY. A boy moved in, but she doesn't know when he did. The house looked so deserted the day before. Hannah ponders the boy, Danny, is a ghost because he just keeps disappearing? One day, she arose from bed and went to Danny's house. She played soccer with him. She smashed the soccer ball to him, and he slipped over the ball. Hannah undertook to help him up, but her hand went right through his. Is Hannah a ghost, or is Danny a ghost? I recommend this book to all readers. This book is exciting, interesting, and weird.

For all those kids who love to be scared on Halloween--but not too scared, award-winning director and comedy writer Carl Reiner produces a real spine chiller. He also offers plenty of outs for the faint of heart: "Is it getting too scary for you? Should I keep going? Okay, if you say so." No red-blooded young reader will be able to resist this tantalizing tale of monsters and mystery. The narrator (depicted by Jerry Seinfeld's Halloween illustrator, James Bennett, to look exactly like Carl Reiner) cozies up with his granddaughter to tell her all about the man he met when he was a child: Mr. Neewollah. Mr. Neewollah has a crooked smile (we have several creepy child's-eye views) and some very strange hobbies. Young Carl is lured into his basement workshop only to be scared out of his wits by fake eyeballs, creaking doors, and creepy things covered with cloth--not to mention hideous monsters. But is Mr. Neewollah truly as sinister as he seems?
In his first book for children, Reiner gets that kids love to be spooked--and to know that all is well, too. Bennett's exaggerated illustrations, featuring weird angles and vivid, in-your-face close-ups, are a good match for Reiner's Halloween tale. Too busy in your own evil workshop to read aloud to the kids? Fear not! The book includes a CD featuring Reiner reading the story accompanied by eerie sound effects. (Ages 6 to 9) --Emilie Coulter

Preview before buying.......2007-09-21
I will start with the positive: The CD reading is great. Mr.Reiner asking whether he should read on is really cute and engaging. My 4 year old son loved it. The illustrations are great.
That being said...There are more than enough scary halloween stories that don't deal with young children being tempted into a creepy mans basement. After each page I kept saing things like "now if a creepy neighbor invites you somewhere do you go? " I think the one thing that would have made the book better is if the neighbor wasn't a person and was maybe a goblin.
I would suggest borrowing this from the library so you can preview before buying it and maybe an older age range would suit the book.

My son got this book for his 4th birthday. We had to read it about 20 times that week. He is 6 now and this is still his favorite book! I read it to a group of kids at a halloween party and they loved it too!
