Customer Reviews:
Great Study resource.......2007-09-25
I just passed the test. I used the Passport, this book, and the Official Guide to the (ISC)2 CBK to study along with practice tests, etc. I thought this was the best study guide out of them. The CBK guide gives more information on the various topics but this gives you a lot of the information you need and I would highly recommend anyone taking the exam to read this book. The Passport was also useful as a brief study guide. It gives a good overview to read first and to read through again to refresh for the test. The practice questions on the CD were also very helpful in preparation. I have never been disappointed with any of the books in the All in One series that i have read.
I CAN'T STAND LIBERAL FEMINISTS.......2007-09-08
If you're like me and annoyed by morons that can't keep their mouths shut about politics (ya know, the kind of people that think everyone wants to hear their liberal ranting and complaining "I hate all men", feminist whining) you may NOT want to venture into this book.
If you read quite a few of the following reviews, you'll find MANY others that tried to warn me about this FEMINIST author NOT being able to keep her mouth shut about politics and hatred of men while YOU "attempt" to learn and/or prepare to take the CISSP, this liberal femy is sounding off throughout the book.
This is why I can't stand liberals (especially liberal feminist women). I picture the author with very short hair, wearing all black, sitting at a Mac, typing her feminist book while sipping Starbucks she picked up in her VW.
The world would be such a better place if these types could CONTROL themselves enough to leave their politics at home, especially when the subject at hand is IT Security.
Great Resource .......2007-08-22
I took the CISSP exam on August 12, 2007 and just received word on yesterday that I've passed. I can't express enough how important this book was in helping me prepare for the exam. This book was my primary resource for studying for the exam along with www.cccure.org. I also took a week long class which kind of helped. The reason I say 'kind of' is because I had pretty much read the book and the class was more of a review for me. I think that between this book and www.cccure.org the exam can be passed. Great resource for the exam.
Review of Shon Harris CISSP book, 3rd edition.......2007-08-04
Great book, once you get beyond the continuous degrading of males. The book has an underlying theme of portraying males as, untrustworthy employees, lazy, and as "hackers" (unskilled; i.e. script kiddies). In contrast, females are commonly portrayed as managers, security professionals, and "attackers" (highly skilled professionals). The book is also laden with poor attempts at humor that simply detract from learning. Barring this, the book is worth the read and provides ample information to pass the CISSP test.

book review.......2007-10-02
This book is very informative, current and well thought out. It has provided me with what i think are all the necessary tools to take my A+ Exams.
Seasoned certification series that gets it done!.......2007-09-27
The other book of the set of two that I would recommend for those wanting CompTIA A+ Certification. This book are for those that are already familiar with the material and are more seasoned in the IT industry. It provides an outline of everything you need to know to pass all facets of the exam (and then some).
Absolutely useless for A+ preparation.......2007-09-27
If you want to learn about computers and have no prior experience, this is an excellent place to start. If you are studying for your A+ certification, stay away from this book. For over a 1000 pages of material, its ridiculously light on real material. To make matters worse, the "practice exams" have questions that were not covered in the book. Mike Meyers is an absolute joke.
A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Sixth Edition .......2007-09-26
This is a great reference book even if you don't want to be A+ certified. It explains how the computer works both software and hardware.
Lengthy, but Great Study Guide for A+ Certification.......2007-09-22
I am a college student and one of my professors uses this study guide as the course textbook and encourages students to get the certification while taking the course. This book is very thorough and if studied correctly, anyone is guaranteed to pass the certification.

"Did you ever fly a kite in bed? Did you ever walk with ten cats on your head?" Such are the profound, philosophical queries posed in this well-loved classic by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel. While many rhymes in this couplet collection resemble sphinx-worthy riddles, Seuss's intention is clear: teach children to read in a way that is both entertaining and educational. It matters little that each wonderful vignette has nothing to do with the one that follows. (We move seamlessly from a one-humped Wump and Mister Gump to yellow pets called the Zeds with one hair upon their heads.) Children today will be as entranced by these ridiculous rhymes as they have been since the book's original publication in 1960--so amused and enchanted, in fact, they may not even notice they are learning to read! (Ages 4 to 8)
Customer Reviews:
Another classic Dr Seuss book.......2007-07-20
Although its not as great as The Cat in the Hat, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is certainly one of my children's favorites, and they especially love trying to read some of the rhymes outloud. Certainly a great choice for a book for your young ones.
These fish become swans.......2007-07-12
One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss gives young children an excellent way to start reading independently. The book helps children learn to count to eleven and it increases their vocabulary as you read it along with them the first few times. Young children just learning to read will be able to read this book as one of their first books that they can read by themselves; and the cute illustrations will delight children and even adults everywhere.
The book's plot is not entirely deep--nor should it be for this exceptionally young, tender age group. The book helps kids to learn how to count to eleven and recognize the words for those numbers; it also uses pictures to introduce words for basic colors including red, blue, black, yellow and pink. Children also explore the concepts of old and new; fast and slow; high and low; thin and fat as well as here and there. Excellent! The book also introduces the telephone and how two people can communicate by phone. Your child will love that--they'll think that the phone is a toy!
The book is nicely bound and the strength of the hardcover binding makes the book tolerate the bending and occasional carelessness of a young child who is learning to read partly by using this book. Great!
I highly recommend One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish for younger kids who are just learning to read. This book will increase their vocabulary by introducing words, comparisons and pictures. The child also gets a heightened awareness of the world around them; and the adorable illustrations will delight children everywhere.
Great job, Dr. Seuss!
Of course it's great!.......2007-06-08
Who can say anything bad about One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish!?!?!!
Five stars for One Fish.......2007-06-02
This is one of our favorite Seuss creations, along with Fox In Socks. My son lvoes to finish every sentence for us. We love this book and the funny creatures in it! ("From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere!"
Fish and Things.......2007-04-10
You will have fun reading this tongue twister with your child. With funny made up animals (things) and verse that can twist the tongue of the most experienced reader.
What is the story about? Nothing really, just a bunch of nonsense that makes Dr. Seuss as fun as ever
Book Description
Four for the price of one! Oracle Database 10g OCP Certification All-in-One Exam Guide is the only book that offers thorough exam prep and a great on-the-job reference for both the latest OCA and OCP exams.
Also includes the Boson's Oracle self-assessment engine to get experience taking the test in the environment it will be given
Customer Reviews:
Good coaching........2007-09-23
I passed OCA exam thanks to this book and with a little help of SelfTest software.
Very good writing. Authors definitely know the subject practically.
It is a good reading on Oracle RDBMS internals. And more entertaining than the Oracle Concepts Guide.
Again - their writing style is excellent, they do not over-complicate things and manage to explain complicated subjects simply and clearly.
I wish they wrote something on efficient oracle design :).
Good OCP guide.......2007-05-12
This book is very good not just for clearing OCP but also reference for novice as well as experienced DBAs . The authors have covered the exam syllabus very concisely without leaving anything yet keeping the volume to a minimum .
However for the part 2 exam , one might have to read oracle manuals thoroughly especially for resource management and scheduler concepts .
The pratice test CD that comes with the book is very helpful.
A great book for certification.......2007-05-12
As i saw, before buying this book, it's an excellent and complete reading for those interested in acomplish the certification. Don't forget to do all of the exercises!
Good reading
Easy to follow, a lot of examples and self-tests.......2007-03-11
It is an excellent opportunity to get ready for the exam. Even if you are not familiar with the RDBMS concepts, this book will help you to get ready for your OCP. A lot of examples and exercises in a book easy to read is complemented with a set of self-test exams in the CD ROM making this the complete tool to get your OCP.
10g OCP Certification Exam Guide.......2007-01-09
I am currently enrolled in CCCCD for Oracle Database Management. This book is very thorough and helpful in understanding what I need to know to reach my goal of certification. It is easy to read and understand.
Book Description

The bonus CD-ROM contains a testing engine with questions found only on the CD. Plus, the book makes a great on-the-job reference once you’ve become certified.
Customer Reviews:
Outdated.......2007-09-18
I will agree with the other reviews I have read. The book was a good and I enjoyed reading this like other Mike Myer's books but I took the exam today and BARELY passed with a 590. I would recommend reading this book if you have the time, coupled with more recent materials. I used this book with a question and answer study guide. If not for the 10 practice exams from Totalsem.com which came with the voucher I would definately have failed. But even these practice exams will not prepare you for the exam.
Great training for IA personnel.......2007-07-10
Mike Myers is at it again! This book contains many tables and diagrams which clearly explain the basics of networking for beginners. The Network+ certification also fulfills DOD's 8570.01M AIT Level 1 information assurance training requirements for IA personnel employed by the Department of Defense. My next certification will be Security+ (IAT Level II) and I will definitely use the All-in-One Guide.
Irrelevant and Remotely Applicable.......2007-06-21
Although this book contains a wealth of information, it lacks subject matter pertinent to the CompTIA Network+ 2007 exam. I passed the exam June 21, 2007. The knowledge I gleaned from this book was applicable to the exam 20% of the time at best. I can only recommend this book as a starting point for those with no networking knowledge whatsoever. Do not rely soley on it to pass the 2007 exam.
Great information for all level techs.......2007-05-17
This book provides all the necessary information for someone who has no experience in this particular field and also utilizes a quick path format for those who are fairly knowledgable. Whether the book was purchased for a quick reference (brush up) or to remove the networking blind-fold, this book is a good buy.
Very Thick Book.......2007-05-13
I am reading this book to get certified, and it is not a very good book at all. It is too thick (not in size) to read and difficult to comprehend based on the language. I do not recommend this book.

Customer Reviews:
Office for Dummies 2003 helpful but not all inclusive.......2007-04-04
This book certainly has value, but fails to fulfill expectations beyond the basic use of the various programs. There were many helpful tips, but for an advanced user, this book is not the answer. It is perfect for a beginner or early intermediate user of the programs and is a good reference for a person just getting started on these programs.
Office 2003 All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies.......2007-04-02
I bring the book with me to work and when I don't know how to perform a task with windows, the book walks me through it. It is a wonderful book to keep on my desk as well as help at home.
Excellent book teaches you the essentials and more!.......2007-03-26
I got this book really to learn more about Excel and Access, but I ended up reading the whole thing. I find it works best if you have the programs open and you can practice doing the things the author mentions in the book. As far as Excel goes, I've just about mastered that program after reading the section on it. At work I've put everything on spreadsheets now and it's made my life a whole lot easier!
At first I wasn't going to read the sections on Word or Outlook because I've been using those programs for many years and felt like I already knew everything. However, after reading the sections I was surprised by how much I didn't know. And how I had been doing things the 'hard way' because I was unaware of all the little short cuts and tricks. I highly recommend this book. I was able to go through 2 sections a day, so it took me less then a week to become proficient at Microsoft Office Suite.
Much helpful information.......2006-11-03
It has a lot of useful information on Word, Outlook and Windows XP. It usually always has the answer to any questions I have on these items. It is a great reference to have with our computers.
Invaluable Resource.......2006-06-29
This book has been every thing I had hoped it would be...an invaluable reference to have at one's elbow for quick help!

Customer Reviews:
Worth Getting.......2007-05-13
I found myself suddenly needing to use Access for analysis that was way too big to do in Excel (comparing data sets from 3 sources with ~800K records each). I really knew nothing about Access. Between this book and the internet I have become very proficient in Access. I practically slept with the book for a week. I now find I don't need it and have lent it to a co-worker.
Great book for filling in the blanks.......2007-05-13
I've had limited exposure to Access before reading this book, and I found it fantastic for filling in the blanks in my knowledge. Access is complicated enough that, for true beginners, it would probably be more helpful to get a book that comes with a CD of examples and walk-throughs. But if you have a handle on the basics, I'd highly recommend this book.
Mostly Worthless.......2007-04-25
Most of the examples and/or instructions do not work correctly when applied to an actual database.
ACCESS Dummies book is good..........2007-02-21
I am pretty good with computers and figuring out new software. This book had decent basic explanations of the functions & tools, but I had to review the book several times to figure out how to link Tables, and I still couldn't figure it out. I looked on Microsoft.com/Access at their Access database Templates to see how tables are linked together (see the Contact Management Database - its fantastic !) and had to look at each individual table & form to figure out how tables relate to each other in order for them to be linked... and I still couldn't quite figure it out.
The disappointing part about the book is that in order for ACCESS to really work for you, you need to understand how to link tables and the book was just not that helpful in that area.
I'm glad I have the book, however, it does help with many other basic things, but I would imagine you'd have to get someone to sit down and show you how to link tables in order for you to grasp the concept of it. To me, its like 3-dimensional thinking - and that's a bit too mind numbing for me to figure out on my own.
Microsoft Office Access 2003.......2006-11-07
Excellent book. Easy to follow; includes lots of cross-references.
It's helped me to improve my database building capabilities.

Customer Reviews:
Well crafted course for the older beginner.......2007-09-09
After reviewing numerous 'method' books on piano, I found this one to be the most comprehensive and well rounded of the lot. Utilizing the best apsects from the myriad methods developed over the years, this book engages the student with popular tunes, theory and technical exercises from the likes of Hanon and Leschetizky, without overemphasising any one element at the expense of another.
Excellant!.......2007-08-26
This book is easy-to-understand and very thorough. I'm using it under the guidance of a professional instructor, but I think it could be used independantly with great effect, as well. It starts with the absolute basics, but it's amazing how quickly an adult can move along. I feel quite confident playing everything covered in this book, and I've enjoyed it very much.
I'm 31 years old, and I've spent, probably, 6-9 mos total in Level 1 (with a few months off this summer). I've just purchased Level 2, and I fully intend to finish this course through Level 3.

I have had no prior knowledge of the piano whatsoever. I mean no lessons no nothing! I bought the book and after 1 week of practicing at 1 hour everyday I'm half way through this book. I'm playing music with ease folks! I signed up for a piano course and found out about this book. After looking through it I dropped the class and started teaching myself. Call me crazy but its paying off. You actually can learn on your own. Imagine what your friends and family will think of you when you said you learned from a book. Can we say "gasps". It's easy to understand and takes you along the way the RIGHT way. Get this Freakin Book!
Great method book.......2007-08-03
I love this series for teaching piano. It is very methodical and logical. And I love that it incorporates the Hanon exercises. I see students grow leaps and bounds using those!
If you use the correlated 'Greatest Hits' book, you've got a teaching/learning package that can't be beat.
By the way, the series is labeled 'Adult' but I would recommend it for any student who is past the age of brightly colored pictures and kiddie lyrics. I guess I'd recommend it for anyone over the age of 13.
useful beginner's guide .......2007-05-18
I found it useful but I use many other pieces of music to complement this book.

I purchased this book to use to get acquainted with my new vista software. It helped me to solve some small inital problems. But as I read through the book it showed me lots of ways to make my computer work better for me. It is a great reference book. It is something I will pick up and check as I continue to work with vista.

Mac OS 10 to Vista.......2007-06-11
I am a long time Mac user and have just moved to Windows. This book was a big help and I highly recommend it. The index is great if you don't want to read from cover to cover.
Something for everyone.......2007-05-31
I am more than satisfied with the content of this book; not only is it written in "user friendly" language, it helped me to understand three different items of concern. There are chapters I probably will not use; but I have already turned to it many times as a reference. I don't believe you could be disappointed in the information.
One of the best Dummies so far.......2007-05-23

Great Reference Book!.......2007-08-13
Being new to any Microsoft Office product, when I purchased Office 2007, I was pretty lost. Microsoft's on-line tutorials were useless, so I purchased Office 2007 for Dummies, thinking I would use it mostly as a reference. It was so well written and easy to understand, I actually read the entire book, and am looking forward to using Publisher and Power Point (I initially purchased Office for Word and Excel). I found working with Office 2007 easy after reading this book, and have had to utilize the book as a reference very minimally. Utilizing the table of contents and index, I can quickly locate what I am looking for. I am sure this book saved me hours of frustration by laying out the concept behind the Office 2007 design, and showing me how to quickly hunt for commands that I know are there (from reading about them in the book). I am sure my learning time was greatly reduced. Great job Peter Werverka!
All in One Desk Reference for Dummies-Office 2007.......2007-07-29
Excellent reference guide for the new Microsoft Office 2007. Without it I would have been stumbling around trying to figure out some of the functions as this new edition is very different.
Great Product!.......2007-07-10
Mail delivery was faster than I thought - and the reference book is being used every day. The manual we got with the program did not explain half of what I needed and this reference is easy and fast!
Extremely Helpful Book!.......2007-06-26
The Office 2007 All-In-One Desk Reference for Dummies is very helpful for someone trying to weather the transition from previous versions of Microsoft Office to the new Microsoft Office 2007. This book not only covers common office applications, but gets into more detail for each program (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.) I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs an easy-to-follow guide to the new software.
good reference for Office 2007.......2007-06-02
I don't consider myself a "dummie" but this was the 1st book of the dummies series that I have purchased. I purchased it to get acquainted with the new features in Office 2007.
I like the fact that the book has so much information on all the programs in Office 2007; tips, reminders, and warnings.
I won't sit and read the entire book but see using it as I take on projects using the new programs. I did not purchase the on-line version but I am considering that option so I can access the information even when I am at school/work.
