Great help but challanging software support.......2007-09-14
I brought this software because I really got a lot out of Rita Mulcahy's book `PMP Exam Prep, Fifth Edition: Rita's Course in a Book for Passing the PMP Exam' which I think is excellent.
This software contains a range of exam simulations which are also very helpful in preparing for PMP exams.
I gave the product only two stars because the software is time bombed (it expires and cannot be reused beyond one three month extension) and can only be installed twice (designed to support two machines). I had a hard disk crash and needed to reinstall but they (the software developer) would not allow me to do this without eating my second install which I had planned to use for my desktop (as I travel and wanted the software on both). This is, in my opinion, archaic customer service and an unacceptable license limitation for a software product in this price range.
Good but with room for improvement.......2007-09-03
I read PMBOK once and Kim Heldman's PMP exam premp once, and done the PMFastrack about 700 questions. All in done in 1.5 months without attending any classroom/online training and passed PMP with average score of 72% !
PMFastrack is a must have and must try for those attempting PMP. It gives you a feel how PMP exam questions are structured and how tricky those questions (and answers) could be. There are missing information in PMBOK which the PMFastrack reveals it and indeed it appear in the real PMP exam. For example on "Leadership" power like "Referrent power", "Expert power", etc.....PMBOK did not mentioned but it appeared in the exam. Also on "Conflict Management" techniques like "Forcing", "Smoothing", etc...it appeared several times in the real exam but nothing in PMBOK. Good thing PMFastrack reveals such "hidden" topics. To be fair, the Kim Heldman's PMP Exam prep also did reveal such "hidden-but-will-appear-in-exam" topics. I guess the the Mulcahy exam prep will also reveal it.
However, there are some topics are missing in PMFastrack and PMBOK on Procurement Management. There were about 2 questions in PMP exam on calculating contractor's profit of a contract, with the keyword "total point of consumption"....
The other drawbacks of PMFastrack are, it keeps repeating questions you have already taken and sometimes the explanation doesn't make sense to me. It's hard to understand the thinking process when the explanation just say "B is the best answer".....
Another good feature to have is if the software could analyze your test results and present you more questions on those weak areas or low score areas.
In summary, it's a must have for :
1. The degree of resemblance of it's questions database to the actual exam.
2. The size of the question database
3. Ability for the database to be updated whenever there are new updates
4. Calculating test results based on number of questions answered
5. Calculating time taken to answer questions (yes 4 hours is not enough in the real exam)
Areas for improvement :
1. Keep count and score of questions already taken to decide if it should be repeated
2. Shuffle the order of answers should the question be repeated
3. Provide detail explanation for every answers (not just for some questions)
4. For each correct answer, provide reference to PMBOK (not just Mulcahy's PMP exam prep)
Good prep for the PMP exam.......2007-08-04
I took my PMP exam on Aug 2, 2007. Here's the pros and cons for this software:
PROS
----
1. Questions test your knowledge of each process group and knowledge area.
2. It helps you get used to tackling situational questions
3. It helps you get your mind around how to answer tricky questions
4. It tracks your scores for each exam and shows where you are weak
5. You can practice questions on certain concepts or even try the "SuperPMP" mode which is harder than the regular PMP practice exam.
CONS
----
1. Questions are randomly selected for each exam which means there is a good probability of seeing the same question more than once. Problem with this is that it doesn't help gauge an accurate test score b/c you might just remember the answer for that question from memory and get a higher score.
2. No way to take practice exams w/o questions repeating.
3. Some questions do not work with Windows Vista.
One imp note: Contrary to popular opinion, I found the actual PMP exam TOUGHER than the the practice exams from this software!! I took 5 of these practice exams and scored till 92% but got a much lower score on the real exam.
I would still recommend this software to everyone...try out the SuperPMP exams and see how you do...quite a few questions on the real exam were much more difficult than I expected.
And yes, I did pass...so its all that matters! :)
Good product.......2007-07-12
Hello,
i have purchased following for the PMP preparation
1. Crosswing PMP Exam Sim 7.1
2. PMP FastTrack 5
3. 3rd PMBOK
4. PMP Exam Prep 5
I stoped using Crosswing as soon as i tried the also the Fasttrack. So i was using only items 2-4 from the list below for the preparation. That is more then enough to get 100% ready for the exam. Yesterday I did successfully the exam.
Rather outdated........2007-06-18
I passed the exam by taking my friends advice of not continuing using this CD. The new PMP exam is more tough, the questions are more direct.Rita's questions are more easy but answers are very different with some irrational explanation and page # reference. The Mulcahy questions were regressive in the sense that over the period of time I started answering mulcahy way of answering which was wrong so instead of building my knowledge I was getting more confused as to what was wrong or right. At time I thought it may be a deliberate attempt to make you buy more mulcahy books or courses.
Many new topics from PMBOK are not covered even though I bought the cd in April 2007. My advice would be read PMBOK, then take some online free sample test.

Fantastic!.......2007-10-02
I love this series immensely. The characters are believable and fun. Kim Harrison knows how to write a story. I've love all of her previous books and this one is no different. The plot is intense. It's the kind of book you can't put down. I love how Rachel is portrayed. I look foward to the next ones!
OMGOSH! Amazing!.......2007-09-17
Everytime I think a book cant get any better i get shocked and this book was awesome!! I love Rachel although im a HUGE fan of IVEY! she rocks. I love how this book plays out i think its the best in the series so far!
She is getting better and better.......2007-09-17
Ms Harrison is getting better with each installation. Can't wait for her next book!. The addition of a "few more demons" was brilliant and diversified the storyline nicely.
For a Few Demons More.......2007-09-05
This entire series rocks!!! Pick them up and you can't put them down. The cast of characters are memorable and believable. I had given up on urban fantasy, Laurel K Hamilton will do that to you. (that's called fair warning folks)
However Kim Harrison saved the day. I have all the Rachel Morgan books and have my calender marked as to when I can get the next one coming out. The plots MOVE.. and in unexpected ways at times. While relationships are there, Ms. Harrison doesn't let it become the whole story (thank the goddess for that!)
This books are a must read for all urban fantasy fans!!
Highly Recomended.......2007-08-23
I think this book is the best in the series so far. It seems like Kim Harrison books just get better and better. I love this series and I'm waiting feverishly for the next one. If the rest of the books in her series are any indication, then the next book will be even better than this one. I really liked this book because of the brilliant mix of humor, horror, fantasy, and characters that are so well described I feel like I know them. I've never read an author who could shock me, scare me, then make me laugh out loud so many times in the same book. Trust me, this one is worth several all-nighters.

Excellent book.......2007-09-17
I have passed my SCJP exam! The book was really helpful to either extend my java knowledge and helped me to passed the exam. I have spent about two months to prepare the exam and read this book about 3 times. Make sure you understand all the questions from inside out at the end of each chapter. I only used this book as my studying material (you would think that's risky, isn't it?) But it did work, although I did grabbed a few mock up exam from internet. But I didn't have much time to do those mock-ups, otherwise i may can do better in the exam. I got 88%.
Excellent! Rare book!.......2007-09-11
The book is written with such clarity, precision and humor that are rarely seen in the IT education. The authors have done fantastic job at presenting complex material in an easy yet concise fashion.
Great SCJP book!.......2007-09-06
This book has a very light language and go deep in Java language. I recommend it if you really want to be a Java 5 certified!
The best SCJP book.......2007-09-01
This is a 'must read' for everyone who intent to apply for the SCJP.
Worths the price.
Good for passing in the exam.......2007-08-22
As it proposes, you will be able to pass in the SCJP 5 exam if you decide to get this book.
A good book with a lot of exercises.
There are some error in the key section of two or three chapters. The mock exam is good as well but has some errors as the key section.
Well, I could pass in the exame with 86% of scoring.
I only got 10 questions answered on a wrong way of 72 questions.
Sorry for the poor English but I'm Brazilian.
I wish you all the best.
Good luck!

12.5 selling principles.......2007-10-01
I give Jeffrey Gitmor's Little Book of Selling 5+ stars for its content and breadth of coverage. I take away half a star because some materials are overwritten and too repetitive. In audio format the presentation would probably help the reader remember the message; in the current written format it is distracting. Even so, and without a reservation, I recommend this book to all sales people, especially sellers of knowledge. The 12.5 principles of selling are articulated well, and I plan to re-read this book.

For everyone!.......2007-09-10
I just ordered this book after taking it out from the library. I had bought "The Sales Bible" from a used book store. My college age son picked it up and studied it on his own this summer.
There is so much wisdom here, especially for college kids, as well aseveryone. I had been looking for the heir to Carnegie, Hill and Nightingale for practical ideas in doing business. This man delivers-with concrete suggestions. As we now possibly head into a recession, these techniques will be all that more important whether you're in sales or not. I also recommend his other books on networking, attitude and sales answers.
There are very few good business authors out there. This is one of them.
Necessary Evil.......2007-09-04
This book is a must for Sales. It is a necessary evil to follow Gitomer's instruction or it will be to your own detriment.
Absolutely one of the Best Reads in its Genre!.......2007-08-30
I enjoyed Mr. Gitomer's book. It can be an excellent reference source for those with high -sales self esteems (the "I know it alls") as well as those on the opposite end of the spectrum. What is refreshing about this "Little Red Book of Selling" is that it, like its author, is straightforward and delivers on all its promises.
Quincy Jones, while producing one of his greatest hits, "We Are The World", placed a sign on the door for participating stars which said: "Leave your egos at the door". Before reading this book, this advice could apply to potential readers. Because of commissions, bonuses, promotions, etc, some people are reluctant to admit shortcomings.
If they do not know something, they pretend that they do. If you can check your ego, I encourage opening this little red door. Inside you will find a wealth of detailed information ... covering all phases of any selling situation. I have been there, done that, and plan on returning. I strongly urge you to do the same. Tell the author, Reggie sent you!
Listen to Jeff!.......2007-08-17
I am very pleased with this book. Jeff Gitomer has provided some fresh ideas that, if used, can really improve your sales career. I especially agree with his emphasis on humor. You must infuse humor into your sales efforts. As Jeff states it, "If you don't use humor, you will lose to someone who does." Make yourself likable to your prospects.
Take the time to read this book.

A good book for any class........2007-07-07
If it where just a collection of magic items, then this book would still probably be worth it, but it also introduces several new concepts in magic items that can allow DMs and players new avenues to explore.
The first is a new concept of charges-per-day. Magic items with charges, like wands, and use-per-day items, like virtually everything else, have existed since the beginning of DnD. Charges-per-day is an item that gets a specific number of charges per day for use with a special power. What makes it different is that spending more charges simultaneously increases the effect. This is great for little effects you wanted more than once a day, but sometimes wish where a little bit stronger.
Next up is the runestaff. The runestaff is a new must-have for any spell caster with a static spell list, such as sorcerers, warmages and divine souls. They allow these magic users to sacrifice their own spell slots to cast the spells imbedded in the staff, essentially expanding their spell list, almost exactly like a cleric spontaneously casting cure spells. Each spell can only be cast this way a limited number of times per day, but it allows a magic user to increase their flexibility in varying situations.
Augment crystals are next. The easiest way to think of augment crystals are like slotable equipment in video games like Diablo. These relatively cheap crystals give minor bonuses to your weapon or armor and are swappable, allowing you to change them when the situation does. Unfortunately, the requirements for the highest-level crystal are a little over the top, making them for more expensive than their little price tag indicates.
Finally introduced are item sets. If you have ever played World of Warcraft or Diablo, you know what an items set is. Each component of an item set is its own magic item, but if you own more than one piece of the system, you start acquiring extra bonuses as the items resonate with each other. Some of these bonuses are very powerful and useful, some not so much, but it is a nice option for DMs who give their player planned out loot.
Being a compendium, several items in it came form other sources, such as Eberron or Faruen. Many of these items where changed in the transition. Some of the items become more powerful, others cheaper. This makes some items that where nice concepts, but priced out of the range of players that could use them, possible. Monks and spell casters should check out the re-priced DR shirts!
Also included in the book are new options for stat booster placement, item synergies, good art, and a wonderful chart for all magic items from the compendium, and the DMG!
ONE OF THE BEST WIZARDS SUPPLEMENTS IN A LONG TIME!.......2007-07-06
Dunegons & Dragons players today just don't know how good they have it. Back in the ancient days of the late 70's and early 80's, we AD&D players had the DM's guide and that was about it. Sure, the Dragon Magazine always had new magic items or you could create your own but those were not "official". Today, however, Wizards of the Coast is putting out a veritable dragon's horde of new supplements regularly and among the best of the recent releases is The Magic Item Compendium. Over 100, magic items are packed into this gorgeous 286 page, hardcover tome. Everything from minor magical trinkets to artifacts and relics are included in a well organized, and wonderfully written book that is a must have for players and DM's alike.
The book is organized into six chapters on Armor, weapons, clothing, tools, magic item sets, and using magic items and is bolstered by two comprehensive appendices listing magic items by price and random treasure. One of the things that I really like about the new magic item system is the infusing of normal armor, shields, swords, with magical properties that don't necessarily make them unique, one-of-a-kind items.
For example, in the Armor/shield category, there are over sixty different magical properties that can be added to the item (as long as it is already at least a +1 item or better) to enhance its qualities. One such property is Healing. This property will heal 2d8+5 points of damage automatically when the wearer is brought down to -1 to -9 hit points...i.e., rescue from death! The Speed property allows the user to produce the effects of a haste spell 3 times per day. All of these properties can be added to armor or shields. Next, there are over 25 unique armors and shields.
The Weapons chapter is similar to armor in that it first lists all of the different properties that can be added to a +1 or better weapon, as well as the price, caster level, aura, and activation required. Again, there are dozens of different properties listed with their full effects leaving it to the DM to decide what they want to create. There are some great unique items in weapons as well. These all include full descriptions of the appearance and powers, and most of them have a drawing that accompanies the weapon as well.
The items in clothing are all unique items and run the gamut of everything from amulets and boots to gloves and rings and everything in between. Chapter four is really a hodgepodge of everything else not included in the first three chapters. Here you'll find items such as bags, orbs, musical instruments, rods, runestaffs, tomes, and more.
Chapter five's subject is magical item sets. These are groups of three to six unique magic items that provide extra bonuses and abilities when worn together. What I love about these is that they will make great items to set about on separate quests to find and locate. And it had better be pretty hard to do so because they will make for some pretty powerful characters should all the items be found.
Finally, chapter six covers the usage of magic items...where to buy them, how to craft them, where to place them in a dungeon, etc...
It felt like the good, old days again just browsing through page after page of this treasure trove. The art is fantastic as usual. One of the best Supplements to come out in a long time.

A DM's Crowd-Pleaser........2007-07-06
I've been a DM in one capacity or another for 27 years. This product got me excited again to run a game. The pictures are outstanding and plentiful. The people at Wizards of the Coast should be proud of this one. It is obvious from page one that a true gamer oversaw ever aspect of the product. This book, along with the Spell Compendium are like a one-two punch for the same, boring, treasure trove. A few new spells on scrolls, a new item here and there with never before seen effects and the players catch the excitement as well. The only issue I had against was that the beautiful drawing of the item in question was rarely on the same page as the description, but in a way, it added to the experience of flipping through the book to get ideas. Highly recommended!
Great Book.......2007-06-30
As a long time DM I find the quick and dirty method of item levels to be a very nice tool. Plus the full reference to all the items towards the rear of the book is great for quick look ups. All and all a great book for a DM and a pretty decent book for players. The new skills that you can apply to weapons was a nice addition.
I'm a sucker for options..........2007-06-28
This book has more weapon and armor enchantments than you'll ever use! On top of that, they added relics, artifacts and armor sets. All of which are very useful. They have things for all levels of all power levels.
This is a very useful book, because it adds to every aspect of the magical or legendary equipment. If you game has a lot of magic items or even just one or two items, this book will help you expand that.
The only downside is that your next game will have way to many magic items!

5 Factor.......2007-10-01
I read the whole book which for the most part was pretty basic stuff. He compares his diet to every other one under the sun and drops celeb names who have used his diet/exercise plan and of course look amazing. If anything I bought the 25 must have foods, but haven't really done the exercise plan, it's pretty simple though.
Great eating plan, more than 5 minutes to prep though........2007-09-26
I am really enjoying the food. He absolutely does NOT skimp on flavor and textures. I get plenty to eat. It eliminates cravings. I feel very good on it. Plenty of energy. When you use a variety of the menus, it is well balanced in fruit and vegetable intake.
I love that he has 5 weeks of menus all written out in a chapter. If you do not want to choose your own meals for the day, simply go there and it will suggest 5 recipes for the day.
I do wish he had put the nutritional information on each menu plan in, but after figuring them myself, I know what it is and it's all pretty balanced and routine for each day in that respect.
It does take me more than 5 minutes to prepare my meals - only reason I did not give it 5 stars, as that is what he says on the book cover. I am sure he can do that, being very familiar with it. There are some recipes that can be done this quickly and I suggest that you find those, use them when you will not have time, and then enjoy preparing your meals as any normal person would on the rest. Also, as I become more familiar with the recipes, as doubtless Pasternak is, they will go much more quickly. I'm still transitioning over and trying to prepare two different meals for my family.
It is not a cheap diet. No diet that includes whole, healthy foods is going to be, unless you are starving yourself. But again, there are varying recipes concerning ingredient costs. The cheapest foods are white processed flours and sugars. Those are not included in this plan.
For those who feel he's no different than anyone else, I can only say they must not have really studied up on the intricacies of each diet, but simply overviewed them in a general fashion. There are differences that are plain to me, and that is what makes each one of these ways of approaching the diet unique.
I have seen some people comment on the lack of portion control in his book. I personally believe this is an irrelevant complaint as, so far, all the menus for entire days come up to only approximately 1400 calories per person.
That, in combination with a sensible exercise program is a perfect amount for healthful living. The portions are often quite large, as the food is not laden with sugars and refined flours, which make up the bulk of most foods people choose to eat today. If it were not for those two things, food portions would not be an issue. You can eat nearly as much of a well balanced, whole foods diet as you like. You will not likely gain weight if you are active.
Yes, anyone can eat this way and lose weight, without Pasternak. I am sure he would agree with you. The problem that people today have is sticking with something because it is just so darn easy to fall into bad eating patterns with our lifestyles and the availability of easy, but unnatural food sources. A book such as this gives you a peer group to align yourself with, a cheerleader to encourage you, a spelled out plan to help you remain focused, and - above all - a shopping list, menus and recipes to make it all much easier.
If you stick with it, it could work........2007-09-22
I bought this book because I was trying to lose my "pregnancy weight" after giving birth to my daughter. I really only stuck with it a week, but I could tell a slight change in my mood, energy, and physical self. However, this diet plan is not sensible if your on a budget.
5 Factor Diet.......2007-09-15
I have been working out with Harley's 1st book, 5-Factor Fitness and I love it, so I purchased this new book for the advanced workout in the book. I have not really tried the food because I was already doing another diet when I found his book but it looks great and the best part is it is truely heathy. I am going to switch to his diet and put my husband on it also.
I love the workout because it only takes 25 minutes a day and it is something I can do at home.
I recommend both of Harley Pasternak's books to anyone looking for a workout and diet that is easy and healthy.
Simple Book but Recipes and Nutrition lacking.......2007-09-11
The book overall is o.k. It written in a very simple method, and I really like the fact that he does not push any "Fad" methods (no carbs/all protein/etc) to make this work. Additionally, I enjoy the fact that he does not promote taking some special pill to enhance the program. However, the book lacks nutrition information about the recipes. Furthermore, I think the book sends a message that the recipes take 5 minutes to prep/cook. This simply is not true. Some meals, such as the Tomato Tuscan Soup, take about 2 hours to reduce and cook thoroughly. There are many meals that take at least 15 minutes in the oven as part of the process, then additional steps outside the oven. The recipes require a LOT of cooking - there are very few "quick lunch" items available - so you do have to plan ahead for the next several days. Also, be prepared to eat A TON of Sour Cream, Cream Cheese, Beans, Tomatoes, and Peppers - which I would say 98% of the recipes have one or more of those ingrediants.
Nonetheless, the food is hearty and actually pretty tasty. The workouts are easy to understand and follow with the pictures from the book - this is what I have always been most intimidate about when it comes to good health - so for that, I am grateful to Harvey.
Thank you.

The core rule book set is a nice addition for any D&D gamer. They are nice books and the box holder is a nice addition. It keeps the books together so you can grab them quickly. I would suggest this pack for those of you who want to start gaming or need new books. The price was reasonable and we would recommend them to others happily.

My son was thrilled with the books and could not wait for them to come. The minute they showed up he disappeared into his room and didn't come out for hours.
Fantastic game for a fantastic price.......2007-08-24
D&D is a fantastic game, and for this price, it would have been a sin to miss. This three book was design to be definitely enough if you do not want to be invest more into the game -- magnificent tips to the dungeon masters to desing your own monsters, magic items, adventures and worlds, tons of spells, weapons and everything you can imagine. I can hardly put them aside.
D&D Core Rulebook Review.......2007-08-24
These books were purchased for my son who is 17 and just got into D&D. He actually asked for only the first book. When realizing there were other core books and the great price on the 3 book set, I had to get it for him. He was thrilled receiving extra books and had indicated that this is a great started set for persons new to D&D as well as experienced players.
This product is being outdated.......2007-08-20
The company that produces this game, Wizards of the Coast, has announced that it will be releasing the 4th edition of Dungeons and Dragons in May 2008. This means that 3.5 products will be become out-of-print and will be very hard to come by shortly. If you want to play a game that no longer receives product support, that is fine; but otherwise, I would recommend against investing in this product.
Instead, I would recommend one of two choices: you can either wait until 4th edition D&D comes out, or you can try out a different RPG instead. Wizards of the Coast's RPG games tend to be very complex and highly action-oriented, which makes them lack in simplicity and roleplaying values. If you want a detailed game of hack n slash, I'm sure that D&D 4e will be the game for you; however, if you place more emphasis on storylines and RP immersion, you may find it difficult to maintain them while keeping track of the millions of little rules scattered amongst the numerous rulebooks. You will also find little support for such a playstyle, since Wizards of the Coast's books focus more on stats and options, but less on plot elements.
The reason I gave this product 1 star is because I am more interested in storytelling and portraying a role in a fantasy setting, two things that are more difficult in Wizards of the Coast's D&D game. I also rated it lower because it is soon to be made "obsolete" by a new version of the game. I prefer a game that does not "update" every few years, invalidating all the purchases you made for the previous version since they are no longer compatible.
Now, onto the products that I do recommend. Castles & Crusades is a simpler game that is much easier on my style of gaming. The simpler rules make things a lot easier and more fun for Game Masters; prep work for the game is not nearly as burdensome as it is for D&D. C&C also has greater support for adventures and settings, instead of releasing endless supplements of even more rules. The game has been described as having a feel more like the earlier editions of Dungeons and Dragons, before Wizards of the Coast acquired the D&D license. Moreover, the C&C system is flexible enough to allow easy conversion of material from any of the editions of D&D: players of Castles & Crusades often make use of D&D 1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition material in their games.
Besides D&D and C&C, there are many other roleplaying games that you can choose from. Before jumping in, I recommend scouting around and seeing what game is right for you. Otherwise, you may end up wasting your money on a game you can't enjoy.

Good for class..........2007-09-30
I would have never looked at this book before i needed it for class, but it is a good source for preparing for any type of public speaking occasion. It is truly helpful. The text has examples and the examples of speeches are usually also in video form on the CD's that come with the text. Also, there are CD's so that you can listen to the chapter (in your car) for example. I personally read each chapter and used the CD's for extra review... Good source for Public Speaking classes, or preparing for any type of presentation.

Highly Recommended Reading.......2007-10-03
Why has Starbuck's seen such phenomenal success and growth in a highly competitive niche? How have they becoming synonymous with coffee the way Kleenex is to tissue?
Michelli makes the case that it's partly consistent quality coffee, but much more so the whole "experience" consumers can expect at any Starbucks.
The author breaks down what makes up the Starbucks Experience into:
1) MAKE IT YOUR OWN
2) EVERYTHING MATTERS
3) SURPRISE AND DELIGHT
4) EMBRACE RESISTANCE
5) LEAVE YOUR MARK
He fills the book with stories that demonstrate the points made which makes it very readable. I did find the distinction between items 1-3 above a little vague and that many of the examples could easily have fit into one of the other categories he created.
I would be fascinated to hear more about how Starbuck's screens to get employees that give service well beyond the norm.
If your vocation involves any level of customer service this is for you and great to share with your friends, employees and business partners.
starbucks is special because it is personal.......2007-09-20
this book shows why starbucks is special. At first blush, it is so glowing in its praise that it seems like propaganda. But the sheer volume of anecdotes and the homely feel of many of them quickly sink in. One in particular sticks in my mind. A starbucks shop was hiring partners (employees) and decided to hire some local homeless people. The partners chipped in to buy them suitable clothes until they could earn enough to stand on their own. Now tell me, why can't other companies do this? good question.
Attention to Details.......2007-09-16
The Starbucks Experience provides an interesting insite as to keeping it simple and staying focused on details. From the fields to the customers, a total focus on details makes the Starbucks Experience a terrific guide on how to conduct business.
REALLY LIKED IT - BOUGHT 4 MORE COPIES!.......2007-08-29
A quick read with tasty principles and mouth-watering ideas. I bought 4 copies for a church organization's staff to give them guidance as they grow to be a dynamic place in their community. (And, because Starbuck's in one of their favorite places to buy beverages!)
Take what you want... .......2007-06-12
Whether you love or hate big companies like Starbucks put it aside! Any business owner or worker providing service to clients (ie: most of us) can learn something from this book. The simple principal identified in this book as "surprise and delight" is so lacking in most businesses who leave us every day without any reason to talk about them. Loved the idea about the coffee cup on taxi advertising - I would have bought the book just for that idea alone! PS - I don't drink coffee, nor is there a Starbucks in my town, but I believe you can learn from any business!

Used as a book club book and it was PERFECT for that!.......2007-10-01
Gitomer is such a fun writer, his style and examples make you smile and laugh out loud at times. He keeps your attention and gives you great calls to action to get you doing something with what you are reading. I have read many of his books and this is a great quick read to get you going in making relationships work better for you. After you read this one, go and get Richard Abraham's book MR. SHMOOZE- The Art and Science of Selling Through Relationships to take it another level. A great investment in your personal library.

Excellent book.......2007-09-11
Excellent book on networking. One of the very few that will talk about giving before receiving; more than a networking book it's a book that'll teach you to build long lasting friendships. These will eventually help you move ahead in life.
Great Little Black Handbook of Connections.......2007-09-05
Jeffrey Gitomer is a professional at life. He provided many great insights into connecting and networking through a collection of lists of his own "proverbs" and altruisms. I doubt anyone can read this all at once; but the book is great when you read a few lists until you find something that really strikes you, and then practice it for a few weeks before going back to this great reference work. Very good!
Gitomer is Sales.......2007-09-04
Jeffrey Gitomer does a really good job in instructing how to get the most out of connections- and how to get started.
