Book Description

It’s time to cash your reality check and re-create your life on your own terms.

In your twenties you expect to finally live life on your own terms. But it can seem like the world won’t cooperate. Roommates drive you crazy (but you can’t afford to lose them), entry-level jobs frustrate you (“Four hundred double-sided copies before lunch,”), and even a dream job can take over your nights and weekends, leaving you feeling like you are running hard but going nowhere.

Jason Ryan Dorsey helps you turn this coming-of-age crisis into opportunity. He shows you the big secret of the real world—that you don’t realize how much control you have over your life until you use it. In My Reality Check Bounced! Jason shows you how to:

Find the courage to climb out of your real-world rut
Create a Future Picture that gets you off your “buts”
Uncover opportunity and build a tag team to make the most of it
Live like you mean it, and finally cash your reality check.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Book.......2007-07-22

Awesome book. I have found what I want to do and I am in my 20's and I found this book very valuable. I have highlighted 20 different pages with key points and lists for me to remember while facing challenges or examining opportunities. Dorsey is the new Covey for 20 somethings.

5 out of 5 stars Beyond A Book For 20-somethings, It Is A Book For Everyone.......2007-05-31

Everybody at any age can benefit for the advice in Jason Dorsey's "My Reality Check Bounced". The book gives great advice to anyone who feels trapped in a "rut" who needs to take control of their life and achieve the success that is their destiny. Discovering what you want, creating a plan, taking action, finding the right people to help you along your journey, overcoming fears, and always acting with ethics and integrity are just a few of the lessons in this book.

Dorsey does a masterful job of sharing his personal story as well as the touching and useful experiences of others who have created the life they now live (and love!). The book is written in an easy to read and conversational style and should be read by everyone just out of college or beyond. However, reading the book alone will not produce results....the reader must take action to cash their reality check!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Book!.......2007-05-25

Found this book an interesting read. Great for young folks starting out and older ones that have lost their way.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!! This book helped me in 15 minutes!.......2007-05-18

My only complaint: it's not only for 20-somethings! This book has so many great ideas of things I started doing the SAME day I read the book. I gave the book to my 40-year-old brother, and he learned great ideas in the book, too! And they're simple, and easy, and make total sense. AND THEY WORK! It's been one month, and already my boss treats me better, I'm making smarter decisions at work, understanding the whole system, and learning the right way to get what I want from my career. Thanks!!!

5 out of 5 stars Don't pass it up!!!.......2007-03-13

Being a twenty something my self i found this book extremely helpful!!
I have read all of Jason's books and loved them just as much as i love this one. I found my self reading his book with a pad of paper, taking notes on everything i should do to be succesful. Jason Dorsey is a brilliant author. He knows the perfect things to say to get you up out of your seat wanting to be a succesful person in life. Jason gives step by step suggestions on what to do to become succesful and how to enjoy it at the same time. I never thought checking out books on how to start the business of your choice would be so helpful. What a simple but perfect idea!
I disagree with John 100%. Jason's stories and his challenging backround has inspired me to be determined in all aspects, a long with hundreds of other twenty somethings. The way he uses these stories is a perfect way to explain his message.
Jason's book inspires you to be outgoing to make this tag team he talks about. The point is not how many people you know. It's meeting new people and expanding your network. Im not yet twenty years old and in the past 2 and a half years i have met hundreds of people whom i network with on a regular basis. So lets face it, John, your statement about twenty somethings not knowing "that many people" is a very weak arguement.
This book is a PERFECT book for ANYONE working to become happier and more succesful in life. I recommend you buy this book and share it with all your friends and family. You will not be dissapointed!

5 out of 5 stars Another Great book ..........2007-03-30

Another Great book to visit the Patterson's with. "For Better / For Worse" has to be one of the best comic strips of all time. It really makes you think, "They are just like my family", and if you do not have kids, read the books so you know what to prepare for.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant Cartoonist - All in the Animated Family.......2005-05-13

Lynn Johnston and Robb Armstrong of "Jump Start" fame are comic geniuses in a class by themselves. No two ways about that.

Johnston has created a believeable and appealing family who, unlike most strips contend with controversial issues such as homosexuality; divorce; infidelity; physical challenges; racial issues; crime; death. It is always a treat to read her strip in the daily paper and it makes for something to anticipate daily.

Michael, the oldest Patterson child, now married has a child on the way. Readers follow Deanna's pregnancy up to the birth of daughter Meredith Anne. It makes for a riveting story line that is sure to delight most readers and maintain their interest.

Middle Patterson child, Elizabeth, now an adult and working towards her teaching degree moves in with her boyfriend, only to discover what a mistake that was. Her way of exacting revenge upon him was funny and resourceful.

April, the youngest Patterson child went from obnoxious pain to obnoxious teen and patriarch Grandpa Jim, a delightful character marries a woman whom he meets at a senior citizens' gathering.

A truly delightful collection that will not only evoke smiles, but will undoubtedly remind readers of milestones in their own lives.

3 out of 5 stars A let down from the previous book.........2004-05-18

This book picks up where "With This Ring" finishes. I was actually disappointed with this book after reading the first one. There was no introduction, and the book goes from Michael and Deanna adjusting as newlyweds, only to 1 strip after Baby Meridith is born. I thought that this book would be more towards the baby's birth, but it wasn't. I enjoyed it however, more so for the other storylines in the book.

5 out of 5 stars you're on the ball again, Lynn!!.......2004-05-16

This, like all the FBorFW books, is fine comfortable family viewing. It is such a shame that everyone who reads it can't see the simple beauty of having a family (though 'fictional')like the Pattersons who really care for each other, their friends and their pets. Some of the other "reviews" I have read of this book seem extremely bitter and anxious to put down those of us who enjoy simple comics and stories of families where no one is on drugs or in prison for a hate crime or murder. If you want "gruesome", go watch TV and leave our Lynn Johnston alone!

5 out of 5 stars Another "reality check" From Lynn.......2003-11-18

I became a fan of FBOFW after reading "Lives Behind the Lines". My favorite aspect of the strip is that, while Johnston generally sticks with chronicalling the so-called "normal, everyday day occurances" of nucular family life, she isn't afraid to write about serious issues. Aside from the well known (and VERY well done) story dealing with Lawrence, Johnston has dealt with such issues as the death of a parent and the ethics of journalism ( when Michael and Weed photographed a vehicle accident, then later learned that Deanna Sobieski had been involved). Lynn continues that tradition in ths book by addressing an issue that I, for one, have NEVER seen addressed in a mainstream, syndicated comic strip - sexual abuse. This story, which involves Elizabeth's roommate Candace, was published in December 2001. As usual, Johnston wrote the story well, and showed a great deal of sensitivity. As a survivor of abuse, this story has alot of meaning to me.
Another issue brought up in the book is the fact that Elly's father is showing signs of Alzheimer's. I look forward to seeing how Johnston deals with this.

P.S. : As Elizabeth continues her training to become a teacher, I was pleased to FINALLYsee the adition of some First Nations characters. Given that Johnston's strip is both Canadian and, usually multicultural, this omission had always struck me as odd.

5 out of 5 stars adorable.......2005-04-11

all i can say is that this book is perfect for a feline-loving computer nerd... the art is wonderful, and the book is so full of humor, its just adorable.

2 out of 5 stars Cute but derivative.......2002-11-03

Not an original idea in the book, but if your standards don't go beyond manga swipes, you will probably be okay with this. The art isn't very well drawn, but fortunately, the computer graphics cover most of the pedestrian work. It is cute, but I wasn't particlarly excited by this work.

5 out of 5 stars Who says cats can't use computers?.......2000-05-21

Nya! This is an absoulutely hilarious and wonderfully drawn story about the wild adventures of a boy named Colin and his virtual-net surfing cat,Catreece. And once she gets her paws on his virtual helmet she becomes a literal cat-girl,with the net as her playground! And who says cats can't use computers? Well, Colin does--but that won't stop Catreece! My only question is...what happened to the second volume!

5 out of 5 stars Love? Nya! Phhhht!.......1999-09-20

I loved this. I'm paying practiacally double the cover price on it to get a replacement sent to me here in Ireland because my first copy was stolen (the bastages). OK, so I'm biased, being a computer nerd who loves cats and comic books, but the art in this (while a little stylised at times) is just gorgeous, the plot is pure hysterical humour from page one, and the characters are absolute winners. A must for any comics fan who likes either cats and/or computers.

Wowie! 210% HYSTERICAL!! For any fan of humor, the internet, or cats- this is a MUST!

Book Description

Since the early 1990s, voluntary programs have played an increasingly prominent role in environmental management in the U.S. and other industrialized countries. Programs have attempted to address problems ranging from climate change and energy efficiency to more localized air and water pollution problems. But do they work? Despite a growing theoretical literature about how and why voluntary programs might be effective, there is limited empirical evidence on their success or the situations most conducive to their approaches. Even less is known about their cost-effectiveness.

Getting credible answers to these questions is important. Research to date has been largely limited to individual programs, and protagonists and antagonists to the trend are at ever greater disagreement, sometimes drawing opposite conclusions about the same program. This innovative book seeks to clarify what is known by looking at a range of program types, including different approaches adopted in different nations. The focus is on assessing actual performance via seven case studies, including the U.S. Climate Wise program, the U.S. EPA's 33/50 program on toxic chemicals, the U.K. Climate Change Agreements, and the Keidanren Voluntary Action Plan in Japan.

The central goals of Reality Check are understanding outcomes and the relationship between outcomes and design. Most of the programs it studies have positive results, but they are small compared with business-as-usual trends and the impact of other forces -- such as higher energy prices. Importantly, potential gains may be quickly exhausted as the "low-hanging fruit" is picked up by voluntary programs. By including in-depth analyses by experts from the U.S., Europe, and Japan, the book advances scholarship and provides practical information for the future design of voluntary programs to stakeholders and policymakers on all sides of the Atlantic and Pacific.

REALITY CHECK: THE NATURE AND PERFORMANCE OF VOLUNTARY ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS IN THE UNITED STATES, EUROPE, AND JAPAN provides analytical evidence to consider exactly how environmental programs work - or not - and analyze how voluntary programs affect the environment. This strong focus makes REALITY CHECK a top recommendation for college-level collections strong in environmental concerns, providing much concrete statistical evidence for policymakers, analysts and scholars alike and offering results of new, independent empirical analyses on such programs. Its data and approach makes REALITY CHECK a 'must' for any serious collection.

Book Description

What is "reality"? Each of us has a "virtual reality" consisting of our individual ideologies, opinions, attitudes, values, and beliefs that we've built up over the years. But what if you found out that what you thought was true really isn't? In Reality Check, David L. Weiner takes us on an entertaining romp through many odd and interesting new findings in various scientific fields—from neurobiology to physics to genetics—in order to dismantle some of our most common misconceptions about being human. By opening our minds to a scientific view of reality, rather than hanging on to our own comfortable (and mostly incorrect) beliefs, we can gain valuable insights and tools for improving the quality of our lives. The fresh and surprising information in this book has ramifications for parents, managers, educators, and everyone else interested in getting the most out of others and themselves.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Very Poor Research and Delivery.......2006-05-10

I picked up this book at the local library because the title and brief description on the cover sounded interesting. I started reading the book and was amazed at how poorly written it was. Typos, bad logic, and a general tone of delivery that made it difficult to continue reading. Later, I skimmed the remainder of the book to make sure I wasn't jumping to conclusions. This book is very bad. I was curious to see what other readers thought of the book on Amazon -- I can only guess that some of these five star reviews are from the author's friends.

5 out of 5 stars Can we trust our mind to tell us anything about reality?.......2006-03-28

What is reality? Can we rely on our brains to tell us what reality is? What about our emotions? Do they come from the brain, some other part of the body, or even from something outside the body such as the soul or spirit? The subtitle of this book is "What your mind knows, but isn't telling you." I believe it would be as accurate to say the book is about what your mind knows but can't tell you because you wouldn't believe it.

The author David L. Weiner writes in a style that is easy to understand even when the things he writes about are not easily understandable. He covers such topics as the anatomy of the brain, how neurons work, the impact of general relativity, and the marvel of DNA. This is one of those books that has so many good pieces of information in it, that you sort of wish it would just on and on explaining everything.

I liked the book especially in those areas where Weiner puts things into perspective such as describing our DNA as a 6 foot long thread that is so thin you could only see it with a scanning electron microscope. Yet contained in that small thread is the whole blueprint of our minds, bodies, and very existence. The difference between any two humans expressed as a percentage of this DNA is so small as to be meaningless even though we spend our entire lives proving to ourselves and others that we are different. Sometimes proving entails the expression of the best in art, music, science, or even politics while at other times that proving entails torture, killing, war, and enslavement.

Another section I found fascinating dealt with religions of the world. Quoting from the World Christian Encyclopedia: A Comparative Survey of Churches and Religions in the Modern World, published by the Oxford University Press, Weiner reports that "there are at least 10,000 distinct and different religions across the world, of which 270 have more than 500,000 adherents." And the single largest component of religion is genetics - at least 99.99% of the time you inherit your religion from your parents. In the United States where religion is considered more changeable than in many parts of the world, Weiner states that fewer than 2% convert from one religion to another in any year. I would venture that that is much to high of an estimate.

Although Reality Check won't give you all the answers to life's questions, it will provide you with several hours of interesting reading and dozens of thought provoking questions.

5 out of 5 stars Reality Check Is A Good Read.......2006-03-19

Reality Check by David L. Weiner is by far one of the better books I have read on human psychology. After working in Rehabilitation and Corrections for a number of years, I know what a psychopath is. David L. Weiner tells it like it really is. This book is an excellent read for anyone interested in learning what makes people become what they are. I am confident that you will not be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars Insightful.......2006-01-10

Very insightful, it was most of the information I was looking for. Thought provoking and easy to not technical like reading a car manual, I understood it and enjoyed.
I recommend his other books as well, even though I just stated I find the insightful as well; Power Freaks and Battling the Inner Dummy

5 out of 5 stars Kind of Random Thinking About the Brain.......2005-11-08

This book is kind of a random walk down Mr. Weiner's mind. He seems to be quite interested in following the current research in quite a number of scientific areas and then explaining these results to his readers.

If this book has a central theme, it is that the mind is a marvelous thing that you can use to do a lot of things, some good, some not so good. He cautions you, for instance on following the latest (or the earliest for that matter) religious fad that attempts to tell you what to think about everything. He makes it your task to do a 'Reality Check' on what you're being told and to make up your own mind.

Much of the book is on what you might call self help popular psychology. He describes the current research that is being conducted and illustrates how this might be applied in our daily lives. I particularly enjoyed his comments on religion. With 10,000 religions and 33,000 variations of the Christian religion alone, it's hard to imagine that they are all right. And yet the overwhelming percentage of us adopt the religion of out parents, unthinkingly, with no 'Reality Check.'

5 out of 5 stars Teach yourself to listen to your church members!.......2004-08-15

This book is filled with good information about where people are these days. The first chapters are a summary of research done by the famous research company. Did you know that George Gallup is a believer? He also makes religious research a major part of his work.

This book will help you learn how to minister to the people in ways you may have never thought about before listening to them. Research is an important way to serve--one of the important needs of people is to be listened to and heard. This book will teach you how to do surveys and questionnaires that will help you in ministry. There are even survey examples with permission to copy them and use them yourself.

3 out of 5 stars Good polling, but didn't suit..........2003-01-27

I don't know why I was expecting more from this book. It has 10 very good surveys that can be used by the reader to poll inside or outside a church or other faith-based organization. But somehow with all their data, none of them fit what we needed. I got much more out of "Surprising Insights from the Unchurched and Proven Ways to Reach Them" by Thom S. Rainer. It also has several polls in the back, but they are targeted toward what we are trying to do: find out where our congregation is at in their faith journey and where need to grow to reach the unchurched.

This book does shine in the opening and closing chapters on how to conduct a poll and analyze the results. Invaluable information here. If you are planning to poll outside your church or synagogue then there are several surveys that may interest you. If you are preparing for a new pastor, there is an excellent survey to derive the current needs of the church. But overall, this one didn't fit us or the need to pulse our congregation as it is now.

5 out of 5 stars A must read for church leaders considering a survey.......2002-07-31

The Gallup Guide is informative and gives one all the tools they need to successfully survey the congregation. The chapter on the Lay of the Land is packed full of details about individual spirituality and people's perceptions and needs of the church. The data points that the church of the future will be shaped by the laity taking and increase role in discerning the will of God for the church and their lives. In the chapters that follow all the details to completing and analyzing a survey is concisely laid out in an easy to follow manner. This book even contains ten reproducible surveys. After reading this book I had everything I needed to successfully survey my congregation. In addition it is great to read a book written by Michael Lindsay and George Gallup because they are leaders in their churches and realize that this book is only a tool in discerning God's will for the church. I highly recommend this book to any church leader.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Resource.......2002-07-15

One of the most difficult tasks a minister faces is discerning the true spiritual landscape of the local congregation. However, this exegesis of the congregation is essential if one is committed to moving the church forward in their lives of discipleship. D. Michael Lindsay and George Gallup, Jr. have provided a valuable tool that will eliminate hunches, guesswork, and wishful thinking with solid, objective information. Such information can then, in turn, be utilized to answer such questions as "What are the strengths upon which a church should build? What are the major challenges? What specific steps can be undertaken to deepen the faith of the congregants? Are the people growing in their faith..." (p. 21)
For decades, churches serious about accurately understanding the religious beliefs and opinions of its members and surrounding community have utilized Gallup's expertise, and now the valuable survey process is explained in this detailed yet concise book.
I highly recommend The Gallup Guide for both churches that are interested in conducting surveys with integrity (several reproducible surveys are included) and for those readers who have always wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the Gallup organization.

4 out of 5 stars Great and CUTE! ^_^.......2003-12-23

First of all Colin and Catreece are in a virtual world. (read the first book for more info) Mr .Bunwum is an evil bunny trying to take over the virtual world and Catreece, Colin and friends must help stop him. ON the way they meet a HUGE panda which they must fight. This book ALSO has special boxes of info before every chapter. Before every chapter there is a box with a few definitions of computer words in it. If you haven't read the first be SURE to read these info boxes! I found them very helpful. NOTE: If you HAVE read the first you may be dissapointed to see (I was) that these info boxes are EXACTLY the same as the ones in the first book. Same words, same defintions, different pictues above them. This book ALSO has many, many, extras. And note. If you do NOT know how to read mangas, open this book like you NORMALLY do. On the first page (or last if you are reading the book correctly) you will se a page saying STOP! This is the end of the novel! You wouldn't want to ruin a good book would you? ;) THen it shows you how to read the bubbles and boxes in the right order. All in all cute, fun book. I just don't like it as much as the first one but it is STILL a good buy!

Book Description

The Real Deal

Life is tough. You’ve got questions. You’ve got choices…and the results are yours to live with. So go ahead—do a little investigating and discover the answers for yourself. The graphically captivating books in the FlipSwitch series are the real deal. They unashamedly tackle pressing issues that you face every day. After pinpointing God’s solution, they offer practical steps that will help you take your life in the right direction…without a doubt. Check ’em out:

HEAT : Sex. A huge reality check complete with stats and facts on who’s doing it and who’s paying for it (STD information).

BLUR : Who defines you? A startling glimpse into the reality of your self-image.

SPLIT : Divorce. Guidance as your own or your friends’ parents go ring-less.

BUZZ: Drugs and alcohol. What you need to know about beer, bongs, weed, tobacco, and other tempting substances.

Story Behind the Book

A team of youth pastors approached Multnomah with the need for a visual pivotal-issues series for teens—something that would enter into their world and confront the stuff they actually think, talk, and wonder about every day. These products called for a “back of the school bus” feel. Kids don’t get spoon-fed answers; they simply get enough cards on the table to create their own conversations. Now youth pastors everywhere can’t seem to hand out enough of them!

3 out of 5 stars I'd be more likely to buy it if they left "god" out of it.......2006-12-28

I think books like this are a great idea, especially for teens. But in my humble opinion, combining important issues that teens deal with like sex, drugs, and divorce with "god" is a mistake.

Let the facts and the issues stand on their own merit...trying to throw "god" into the mix just makes already tough issues even more confusing for teens to sort out.

4 out of 5 stars Cool book, cool series.......2006-09-26

As a teenager, I think a lot of books for kids today are sort of stupid. Like, they always talk to us like they're talking to our parents too. This book, BUZZ, talks directly to us--and I like that. The author lets us figure stuff out for ourselves, he doesn't cram it down our throats. It's respectful. In case you didn't know, this book is part a whole series of books (called FlipSwitch) on topics like drugs and alcohol, sex, divorce and self-image. Not all the issues might apply to you, but usually you have friends that are going through this stuff.

5 out of 5 stars Phenomenal Stuff For Your Teenagers!.......2006-09-22

I can't recommend Marcus Brotherton's BUZZ and HEAT enough to young people. Recently in our youth ministry we passed out a number of these books to a group of high school students. They couldn't put them down. It's obvious that the truth and style in which these books are written are highly relevant to youth today. They're edgy. Highly entertaining. Short enough for anyone to read. They are NOT preachy. Most of all they are thought provoking. Marcus has done an amazing job of raising serious questions and answers to serious issues. I highly recommend getting a handful of these books and passing them out to any youth that you know. They will read them. And better yet, they'll deeply consider the truth presented there.

5 out of 5 stars I like this concept.......2006-09-08

Having worked with youth for over two decades, I'm grateful when a book hits where a teen lives in a relevant way. BUZZ strips away the hype to get real about what drugs and alcohol really do in the live of any person. It offers an alternative message that teens will not only "get", but be able to live.

5 out of 5 stars Tapping the teen mind.......2006-08-09

Captivating the interest of teenagers and reaching them in a deep way is not an easy task. Many authors have tried and it is my opinion that Marcus Brotherton has accomplished this task with this book, Buzz. Brotherton's radical magazine-like style is challenging, creative, educational and entertaining. Buzz delivers a Christ-centered message about substance abuse in a modern thought provoking way. The style of the book keeps you engaged and looking for more. With stylish pages and a dynamic style, this book will keep teens reading and thinking. Buzz is not too long and the content is to the point and uses a language that teens can relate to. It is clear that Marcus Brotherton has spent extensive time with teens in youth ministry and understands the intricacies of the challenges and temptations that teens face on a daily basis. Brotherton says it like it is - there is no dancing around the issues and the facts in this book. He understands how teens think and helps them to come to discover how they think as well. If you know a teen or young person who is, or might be, struggling with substance abuse like alcohol or drugs, do them a favor and give them this book.

4 out of 5 stars They're back.......2007-05-18

Anyone who remembers the New Warriors will probably remember them with equal feelings of joy and disdain. Reality Check finds a bit of more light hearted take on the lower-tier super team, as former leader Night Thrasher re-assembles the team for the sake of reality television. The team features returning members like fan favorites Nova and Speedball, along with Namorita and new member Microbe among others. What makes Reality Check enjoyable is the way writer Zeb Wells satires reality TV and the media to boot, while providing an actually compelling story. My biggest gripe is the artwork by Skottie Young, which is very anime-ish and cartoony. I don't mean to knock the guy, but his style just isn't my thing. That being said though, Young's art doesn't detract from the story too much, making this a pleasent surprise indeed. Though it would have been nice to see some other old New Warriors members in the lineup (Firestar and Justice in particular, and maybe even Rage), Reality Check is a surprising treat. Check it out if you remembe the old New Warriors comics, of if you enjoyed Dan Slott's GLA: Misassembled.

5 out of 5 stars THE NEW WARRIORS NEED A ON- GOING ..........2006-03-17

(up date 4/25/07, after reading the civil war , I was shocked and sadend by the deaths of ... ok , Amazon won't let me say because of spoilers , but anyway , even though the civil war books where cool , my opinion still stands R.I.P. old friends!)FIRST OFF , I'M A LONG TIME FAN OF THE NEW WARRIORS (ever sense #1 of the original series) AND IT'S TIME FOR A NEW ONE . THE TEAM IS THE AVENGERS FIRST "YOUNG" GROUP (think teen titans) AND WHAT WITH THE "YOUNG AVENGERS" , IT'S TIME FOR MARVEL TO RELEASE IT'S VERSION OF THE "OUTSIDERS" .
THIS TRADE INCLUDES #1-#6 OF THE MOST RESENT MINI-SERIES (which would make it vol.3 considering marvel tried to bring it back years ago after redesighning nova's classic duds and making the team more anime like) ANYWAY , NIGHT THRASHER (think black batman) LOSSES HIS FORTUNES AND SELLS THE RIGHTS OF THE WARRIORS TO A GREEDY REALITY TV PRODUCER .
OF THE ORIGINAL TEAM ONLY 4 COME BACK : NIGHT THRASHER , NOVA (in his classic costume !) , NAMORITA (who's blue for some reason) , AND THEN THERE'S THE MIGHTIEST ONE OF ALL !!!!
SPEED BALL !!!!! ... (ok , that's just me being funny)
THE TEAM IS JOINED BY TWO NEW MEMBERS : MICROBE (who I find some what offensive because he's a stereo type of over-weight people , his only friends are his germs and he doesn't bathe)
AND THEN THERE'S DEBRII! (she's a low level telekinetic magnet , who can pick up small things around her to use as weapons)
AND LAST , BUT NOT LEAST ...MR.TICKES ! (ok , that's also a joke)
THIS BOOK IS A FUN AND EASY READ WITH CARTOONY LIKE ART THAT I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HATE , BUT I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT .
THIS BOOK ALSO , HAS A GREAT PLAY WITH THE RETURN OF SOME OF MARVEL'S B-LIST VILLIANS LIKE : TIGER SHARK , ARMADILLO , THE GRAY GHOST'S SUPER APES , THE CORRUPTOR , AND ALBERT EINSTEIN ! ... (no joke!)
I'M SO GLAD TO SEE MARVEL BRING BACK SOME IT'S OLDER CHARACTERS , AND IT'S THANK'S TO DC COMIC'S (unfortunately). DC IS THE TREND SETTER NOW BECAUSE OF THE CRISIS BOOKS AND MARVEL IS FOLLOWING SUIT BY BRINGING OUT IT'S OLD FAN FAVORITES (they're even having a civil war to bring in readers ... which means killing some of their most beloved characters and having them fight & kill each other to attract readers)
INJOY THE LIGHT SIDED STORIES LIKE THIS ONE AS WELL AS "GLA:DISASSAEMBLED" AND THE NEW "SHE-HULK " BOOKS WHILE THEY LAST TRUE BELIEVERS !(this review was writen in mid 2006 and before the civil war) Civil War (Marvel Comics)
