Customer Reviews:
Great Keepsake!.......2007-09-26
I bought this for my nearly one-year old son to begin marking his Birthday celebrations. Everyone I've shown it to thinks it's a great idea and the perfect way to keep track of Ryan's first 12 Birthdays. Although it won't hold much, I just wanted it to hold invites, thank you cards and a few photos, and it will definitely do that and more. I've been thinking of buying it for all of my friends' kids, too.
Great keepsake.......2007-06-27
This was a great book to purchase for birthday keepsakes. I gave it to my daughter for our grandaughter's first birthday. It was appreciated because it gave her a place to keep the invitation, pictures, etc.
Not exactly what I wanted...but ok.......2007-06-01
Several years back, I saw a birthday memory book at Hallmark. I bought it as a gift for several friends. I looked everywhere for it but had no luck. I found this one on Amazon. It is ok but not exactly what I wanted. I wanted something more 'child-like.' This is very nice but doesn't really scream "I'm a kid!"
What a great idea!.......2007-01-15
I have seen all the school years books for memories but have never seen one for birthdays. My mother sent this up to us and I love it. There are pockets to store cards from the birthdays, pictures, an invitation from the party and some favors you may want to keep too. Obviously there is a limited amount of storage space but I love it. You fill in the age they were for each birthday (great b/c I didn't have this for her first bday). There are also spots for you to tell about their bday, about the party, what you did and ate, highlights from the day, gifts and who gave them, and a place for special memories and hopes for the past/upcoming year. Then you sign it or whoever fills it in signs it. I really love this book! I think I will buy more for family and friends.
Book Description
Meet Annie Choi. She fears cable cars and refuses to eat anything that casts a shadow. Her brother thinks chicken is a vegetable. Her father occasionally starts fires at work. Her mother collects Jesus trading cards and wears plaid like it's a job. No matter how hard Annie and her family try to understand one another, they often come up hilariously short.
But in the midst of a family crisis, Annie comes to realize that the only way to survive one another is to stick together . . . as difficult as that might be. Annie Choi's Happy Birthday or Whatever is a sidesplitting, eye-opening, and transcendent tale of coping with an infuriating, demanding, but ultimately loving Korean family.
Customer Reviews:
pretty awesome esp. if you grew up with a crazy asian mom.......2007-10-02
hilarious and heartfelt, Annie Choi's book made me laugh out loud, and explained to the rest of the world what it's like to grow up Asian American or specifically, with nutty but loving parents who can barely communicate with you. Except in "Engrish" that is. However, the funniest thing she has written in my opinion was her "Open Letter To Architects" which is not in this collection. Good stuff though.
A bucket of laughs and gems :).......2007-07-31
What a great read! Almost every other page of Annie Choi's "Happy Birthday of Whatever" got me laughing to tears. Annie Choi does a wonderful job of putting humor and a little exaggerated drama in describing her relationship w/ her parents, especially that with her mother. Pick it up - you won't be disappointed!
Annie is so Good.......2007-06-20
The book is funny. The writer is so clean in her prose, so elegant in her descriptions, and so honest in her feelings. The book is moving. It is the story of a daughter with a blueprint to her mother's heart and roads that will lead beyond it. I highly recommend this book: because it is pertinently funny and universally accurate as a work on how we learn from the women who believe: will always be.
I wish I had written this!.......2007-05-29
Touching, sweet, and best of all, funny! As a first generation Korean- American, I thought many of the scenes could have been lifted from my own childhood. I look forward to Ms. Choi's future work.
Funny!.......2007-05-15
Very funny book -- crazy/real situations and Choi has a good turn of phrase. More than a few parts had me laughing out loud like a crazy woman. Definitely looking forward to what she writes next.

Customer Reviews:
AMAZING SERIES!! IS A MUST READ!.......2006-06-24
I got the entire series this past Christmas. I had read the first 2 because although my library had more, they didn't have all of them, and they didn't have the 3rd and I don't like to read things out of order so I was really sad. So then I was soo happy to find out they were being republished by Image Cascading!!!
So yea I read them all and they all rock!!! It's nice seeing what teenagers did back in the 50's. And it was also nice how different people's relationships were with their family's, I wish it were more like that today. And they are also way more responsible and mature then we are now. Making their own money, not having to depend on their parents for everything. And their parents respect and trust them more too! And they definatly treat their parents with much respect which is ALOT more then I can say about kids of today.
The first book is about Beany's older sister, Mary Fred. It is in MF's junior year of highschool, when Beany is in 8th grade. The rest of the books are all about Beany, in highschool, college, and then when she gets married. And let me just say I LOVE who she ends up with. They are SOOO cute!!!
Everyone should read these books they are amazing and are definatly one of my favorite books ever!

Book Description
For his birthday, Duck's animal friends give him a swimming suit, a diving board, and a slide, but it is not until Tortoise arrives with an inflatable pool that they have something to swim in.
Customer Reviews:
Just Ducky!.......2000-11-07
Duck celebrates his birthday with animal friends in this beautifully illustrated book for younger children (from about age one to five). The animals bring him gifts:
"Duck got a ball that was pumped full of air. And a scuba mask, and a watch to wear And suntan oil to rub on his beak So it wouldn't burn and it wouldn't squeak."
The problem is that most of the toys are for water play, and Duck and his buddies live in the desert. Good thing Turtle brings the present that makes it possible for everyone to splash around and have fun!
The book is both simple and clever. The highlights here, though, are Jan Brett's vivid right-on illustrations of the Southwest: Big, bright, colorful, with warm tones, and enough detail to keep older toddlers interested. An absolute delight!

Book Description
Bear loves the moon so much that he wants to give him a birthday present. But he doesn't know when his birthday is or what to get him. So Bear goes to have a little chat with the moon.
A poetic fantasy, Happy Birthday, Moon has delighted fans for years as a simple yet reassuring celebration of love and friendship. Gently told with warm words and charming illustrations by creator Frank Asch, Happy Birthday Moon was cited by The New York Times as one of the ten best titles of the year.
Customer Reviews:
One thing that went wrong.......2007-06-30
(on behalf of my 6 year old son). I like this book because nothing went wrong except one thing, and it was when bear said, "Hello" but it echoed. I recommend this book because it is a pretty good beginner book.
Unique book that kids love too.......2005-10-17
My three year old loves this. Easy, quick bedtime book.
THE BEST BOOK EVER-COMING FROM A 27 YEAR OLD...........2005-06-04
I have the original printing of this book that my mom bought for me when I was little and I still read it to this day just for sheer enjoyment. This is the perfect book for toddlers (I read it to my little brother when he was very young and he loved it!) I considered giving away my copy as a gift to a friend of mind who is having a baby soon and I decided to buy her her own copy because I couldn't bear to part with mine. This is a book to pass down definitely!
A metaphor.......2005-04-12
I think one reason that people love this book so much is that it's a deeply spiritual book. The meaning is something like, "The unselfish love we give G-d is its own reward." OK, that's not it. But something like that.
Can't get much more inoffensive than this!.......2004-03-08
Children like stories where characters have mistaken ideas of what the moon is. The Caldecott winning book, "Many Moons" (which I HIGHLY recommend you run out and read immediately if not sooner) supposes that the moon is no larger than a thumbnail and made of pure gold. In this book, "Happy Birthday, Moon", a small cuddly bear supposes that the moon is like any other creature and, if you get close enough, you can have a conversation with it. Through a series of misadventures (echoes, trees, and winds) Bear comes to the conclusion that the moon would like a beautiful hat for its birthday. In the end, he and the moon have (in his mind) grown closer over the course of the story.
And boy oh boy is this picture book simple. No extraneous details or folderols here. The lines are clear cut and smooth. From the perfectly circular and yellow moon in the sky to the deftly lined Bear, not a single line or color is out of place here. For those parents wishing to calm their little ones down with a simply told, simply drawn story, this book is ideal. Concepts are not difficult to grasp and words never get any more difficult than "birthday" or "beautiful". It is a nice little book.
Product Description

Customer Reviews:
Cute Keepsake.......2007-05-13
Cute book with a place for 2 pictures. Includes story and a place to record info. on your child's 1st birthday.
Cute introduction to birthdays.......2006-07-24
This is part of a collection of Happy Birthday I'm ___ (fill in the age). The first two pages are about the child: Name, birthday, who gave them the book, and a place for the picture. Then it tells a story of a bunny, in simple board book format with simple illustrations. pg 1 "It's Hop's birthday" pg 2 "There's a birthday cake..." pg 3 "with one candle" pg 4 "make a wish" It continues in this fashion with part of the Happy Birthday song sung and ends with Hop eating the cake. The last two pages has a spot for the picture of the child at their party and a list of their gifts. I gave it four stars and not five because the text is not the stuff of classic children's literature as in Pat the Bunny or such but still cute enough to hold a one year old's attention. A nice keepsake and a nice book to read before a birthday every year.
Cute series for children--.......2004-06-08
This is a nice series to introduce birthdays to children. Our collection is growing, and the earlier photos are fun for children to look back on. Not much of a true story-line, but a good keepsake that children can play with.

Customer Reviews:
It all came down to a betrayal? Story's done; time to start the next one........2007-01-22
As with almost all of Spider-man stories I have found enjoyment and always looked forward to the next one.(I'm a longtime Spiderfan and easy to please). Ezekiel had always been a mysterious, almost immortal figure since popping in to Parker's life. This chapter sums it all up very well, but I was disappointed with the ending. It felt like everything in the last several books culminated to this chapter and now there doesn't feel like there is anything on the horizon for Spider-mans legacy or the Parker's family, although I know better. Perhaps Ezekial will be Peter's Obi-wan Kenobi in future issues. In a way it kinda seemed like J. Micheal Strac. was unexpectedly running out of pages and had to "wrap it" up. Still, I was very pleased I bought this one and it again as I do will the previous chapters (yes--I read them all in order too! LOL).
A happy Birthday?.......2006-09-21
Story: After a frusterating day at work, Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-man is just reflecting on his superhero identity and about if he's actually a hero when red lightning strikes. Er.. Red lightning? Never a good sign. So then Spidey goes on a search for the source of the problem and when he finds it, it turns out to be WAY more then a bad rainstorm. It's a limitless army of, really strong, really tough and really stupid drones. Plus, soon Spidey finds out there's an ultimate battle going every freakin superhero in the marvel phonebook and the mindless ones. But when a Mr Fantastic invention goes haywire and a Dr Strange spell gets messed up, Spider-man ends up seeing his beggining, his end and also he ends up facing every super villain he's ever faced and has to beat them all in a weakened state. To find out the conclusion you've gotta read this graphic novel. Also with a bonus 2 comics added to mix it up you'll really enjoy the story.
Art: 3 words, Looks-Really-Good.
value: while it's a little pricy, with the right amount of cash or a library card you'll get satisfaction garunteed.
Overall: Overall this is an awe some book and I reccomend this to any Spidey fan who can read.
Impressive, read them all.......2006-06-12
Through reading these and other recent Spider-Man books (25 issues worth) one thing comes to mind: even through bad stories, Spider-Man is still the man. It may be controversial but I like the idea of Ezekiel, Morlun, the Spider totem, all of it. Spider-Man has to be changed up every once in awhile and this is a much better way to do it then killing people off, or a new costume. As Straczynski's run goes on he shows a new side to Spider-Man/Peter Parker, MJ, Aunt May, even Uncle Ben. Spider-Man is firmly in the Marvel Universe in this series, with random comings and goings from other heroes. On the other hand, Peter Parker is firmly in the real world during this run. Peter Parker in college has been tried before, but Peter Parker (as an adult of course) in high school? Well, that's different and incredibly entertaining. The new villains are memorable and the older cast reminds you why you loved them to begin with.
The Book of Ezekiel.......2005-05-03
This is a great arc. First off the story begins where Spider-Man teams up with Loki!! It's not what you think. Your thinking that the Daily Bugle was right about Spider-Man and now he has turned to Loki's side. Nope. I think you'll be pleasently suprised.
Then we have another arc that ends the saga of Ezekiel!!
The artwork is great!!
The srory is great!!
What are you waiting for?!?
MAKE YOURS MARVEL!!!
Book Description
Close your eyes and make a wish — Alison Tyler has a sexy present for grown-up birthday girls and boys.
Forget the French perfume and the boxes of candy, the Hallmark cards and the gift certificates. The birthdays in this collection are observed in more carnal ways, with suitably sexy presents for all. In Simone Harlow’s “Happy Birthday,” a tough policewoman gets the tables turned when “naked Nick” arrives to tame her. In Marilyn Jaye Lewis’s “The Birthday Party,” an unexpected ménage a trois in the dark proves the perfect gift. And in Kate Laurie’s “Her Birthday Suit,” two women give their skeptical girlfriend a stud who insists, “A promise is a promise. I can’t leave you until you are absolutely satisfied.”
