Download Description
The Ivy League is full of societies and clubs, some public and some very private. But none is as secret as Yale's Skull and Bones, a tiny, mysterious society that has spawned three U.S. presidents, including William H. Taft, George W. Bush, and his father. Skull and Bones' cloak-and-dagger secrecy has prompted people worldwide to attribute to it some of the most staggering conspiracies in modern history-as well as events including the drop of the atom bomb, the rise of Hitler, and the invasion of the Bay of Pigs. From their nearly windowless crypt in the middle of the Yale campus, the Bonesmen, it is said, plot to dominate the world. In Secrets of the Tomb, acclaimed journalist Alexandra Robbins slips through the veil of secrecy to investigate, through society documents and interviews with dozens of members, the truth about Skull and Bones' influence and operations. She also explains why this old-boy 19th century throwback, a product of another time, still thrives in 21st-century America.

Fantastic Book !!!!.......2007-06-08
This book is a wonderful read! If you are not from the Northeast and don't know much on the Ivy Leagues and their past, it's a great book to get an understanding on the subject. Somewhat Cloak & Daggar, but very intersting indeed!
Just as others said - quite the disappointment..........2007-05-29
I was looking for some interesting insight but found very little in this book. It provides the basics of the society and what I'm sure is public knowledge but no insider information... Generally disappointing.
Either a fantastic work of disinformation, or an incredibly boring read.......2007-05-07
This book is either great or awful. Great if my longshot hunch is true: Alexandra (herself a secret society member) merely leads readers off the path and convinces them that there really is nothing to Skull and Bones. Awful if this is the real boring truth of the club. If it is the truth, then it doesn't really warrant a full book. A mere few pages stating: Skull and Bones: an average fraternity that happened to survive for many many years and have a few third-tier Presidents, sleazy CIA agents, and a handful of Congressman.
Is the book believable? Who knows.
I'd like a book written by a true outsider, and not someone who attended Yale herself as well as joined a secret society.
I say its a coin-flip: the society is either incredibly boring as this book attempts to tell you, or this book is just what they want you to believe. Either way, its dull and a very slow read.
Maybe the only way i will know for sure is if i disappear and my bank accounts are frozen after i post this...
Can you trust a 322 and Scroll and Key collaboration? .......2007-04-22
There is a lot of interesting stuff in this but you have to ask yourself how much the information in it can be trusted because for one the author gets a good portion of it from anonymous Skull & Bones members who talked because they claimed they were tired of hearing so much weird speculation about them. So for one, how can you be sure what they told her was accurate and not intentional disinformation. For another even if what they gave her was true, its still information that they chose to let out but not the whole story. Another big factor that has to make you wonder is it turns out that the woman who wrote Secrets of the Tomb was her self a member of another elitist secret society at Yale, Scroll & Key.
This book is worth reading if your researching S & B but you just have to wonder how honest it is. The best book on the Skull & Bones is Fleshing Out Skull & Bones which was edited by Kris Millegan. Antony Suttons work on the 322 cabal is also highly recomended.
Not the revelation I expected.......2007-03-09
While this book was reasonably entertaining and readable, it tended to get repetitious and did not deliver the "secrets" as advertised. The underlying consipracies were only old school bonds that anyone could expect from a frat house.

Book Description
An expose of the dark and critical role secret societies play within the ruling families in America and their influence on American democracy, current events, and world history.
• Reveals the enormous influence secret societies still have on contemporary American life.
• Shows how the secret Masonic cells that smuggled in the democratic ideals inspiring the American Revolution also enabled the future elite of the new society to build huge fortunes.
Elite and secret societies have always been a major force in the history of Western civilization. The alliances formed in secret societies such as the Knights Templar, the Knights of Christ, and the Freemasons transcended patriotism and religious beliefs and had a powerful influence on the establishment of the United States of America. While these secret associations of merchants, smugglers, occultists, gamblers, spies, and slavers succeeded in freeing the United States from foreign domination, the dark side is that the elite used their secret connections to further their own wealth and power. These secret cells did not hesitate to sponsor the assassination of a president and even attempted to break up the union on several occasions when it was deemed expedient.
From the Sons of Liberty and the Essex Junto to the Ku Klux Klan, secret societies have played critical roles in building the fortunes of America's elite. Now Steven Sora reveals in alarming detail how secretive societies continue to wield power even today as organizations such as Yale's Skull & Bones unite America's modern ruling families as strongly as Masonic Lodges once connected the Astors, Livingstons, and Roosevelts. Their immense power and wealth allow this elite to control America to an even greater degree than the Templars once dominated Europe.
Customer Reviews:
Fact or fantasy?.......2007-10-02
A previous reviewer has noted some examples Sora's "liberties" with facts. For me it was page 39 where we are informed that in 1919 the German Fleet, hiding in Scapa Flow, scuttled its ships rather than "surrender from its hiding place". Mr. Sora is clearly not aware that Scapa Flow was home to the British Grand Fleet, some forty Battleships, Cruisers, Dreadnoughts and Destroyers and that the German High Seas Fleet was not hiding there, but had, in fact, surrendered there.
When basic, well documented, facts are ignored or distorted, how can the rest of this work be taken seriously?
Badly Referenced Book.......2006-02-26
Sora starts off with a lot of stories on the Knights Templars, with much truth mixed in, but throughout he focuses on stories of mafia-like intrigue where graft, murder, and all manner of nefarious ways are attributed. Sora lays low when he finally gets to the Skull and Bones. But for the entirety of the book his secret societies have been blood-thirsty pirates, slave traders, and the worst of the worse.
Worst of all, with so very much of "his" history on every page, his documentation of his hundreds of evil attributions is sorely and sourly lacking. When he says in one of his many infamous lines that the KKK is a Masonic organization, a good historian would have referenced and proved that. Goodness, did Sora just purpose to link many of history's legends to one of history's worst secret societies. The KKK is a separate org like a lot of corrupt orgs with prejudicial and evil ways, and Sora forgot or purposed to leave out numerous other corrupt organizations more like the KKK than real Freemasonry. The end line for Sora, is that Freemasonry is in the main tied to many of America's elite for 300+ years, and all of the elite--he mentions many early and only a few today--are somehow corrupt.
If so many of America's elite have been and are as corrupt as Sora's long story goes, well then, there would never have been an America founded, not like the one the Declaration and Constitution established in 1776+ or like we have today. The greatest deficit and piece of incredible license is how Sora expects his readers to take in his broad stroking theme: America was founded by evil pirates and continues to be controlled by pirates to this day.
Sora did not mention, quote, or reference a single Freemasonry scholar, not even those scholars of Masonry who are "not" Masons, like famed non-Mason historian Jasper Ridley. Any history like Sora's that links so many hundreds of pages to Freemasonry (making them "all" evil) is adolescent when it ignores or purposes to hide from Freemason scholars such as Allen E. Roberts, William r. Denslow, W.L. Wilmshurst, and Alphonse Cerza, Art DeHoyos, and S. Brent Morris. Without out a single reference to the well-referenced works of Allen E. Roberts alone, Sora is adrift in his own pirate fantasies. Without the mighty works of Denslow's "10,000 Famous Freemasons" and Cerza's mighty "Anti-Masonry," Sora is a little story teller with rocks in his mouth.
Not once in 300+ pages did Sora mention the cruciality of "honor" or "morality," and yet the Knights Templar and Freemasonry for 300+ years have been all about honor. You have to look over, pass over, and ignore how "honor" and "morality" have been an integral part of all of Freemasonry, published in the monitors by all of the Grand Lodges worldwide and on nearly every page of thousands of Freemasonry scholars for 300+ years.
What is truly scary about Sora's skull-and-bones' covered book is that it is selling, like a pirate booty being auctioned off to an innocent audience unawares of Sora's home port. See www.preciousheart.net for more bibliography on Freemasonry.
Sincerely, Dr. M.G. Maness

Let down.......2005-04-12
The author starts off telling us that Skull and Bones membership essentially guarantees a world of privilige, power and wealth. By the end we find out it is not much more than a club whose members do some weird things. An OK read but very repetitive. Yale likes it traditions, we don't need 100 pages to tell us that, 10 would have sufficed.
BE CAREFUL OF THIS ONE.......2004-08-29
I am fearful that the historical accuracy of some of the statements made by this author are in question. I found the work to be rather poorly footnoted and some of the author's conclusions quite questionable. I also found that the work was quite repetative and that much of what the author had to tell us could have been presented in about one fourth of the pages actually used. After reading the book, I certainly would not try passing myself off as an expert on "secret societies" and their impact on our present time. Do some home work on your own before reading this one, and as I said, becareful of this one!

Book Description
For 170 years they have met in secret. From out of their initiates come presidents, senators, judges, cabinet secretaries, and plenty of spooks. They are the titans of finance and industry and have now installed a third member as United States President George W. Bush. This intriguing behind-the-scenes look documents Yale's secretive society, the Order of the Skull and Bones, and its prominent members, numbering among them Tafts, Rockefellers, Pillsburys, and Bushes. Far from being a campus fraternity, the society is more concerned with the success of its members in the post-collegiate world. Included are a verified membership list, rare reprints of original Order materials revealing the interlocking power centers dominated by Bonesmen, and a peek inside the Tomb, their 140-year-old private clubhouse.

Get it out of my sight..........2007-04-19
no wonder Mr Sutton was kicked out the country. We never should have let him in in the first place.
Revealing the Sources Behind Centruies of Human Suffering.......2007-01-04
America's Secret Establishment is worth reading. It reveals the true motives of policy makers in areas of economics, war, peace, and virtually every aspect of our lives. This book will provide the reader with a historical look at the institutions and persons responsible for major problems experienced today in America as well as other countries where their presence was identified. This book is not about a college fraternity, truthfully the fraternity is just one of many masks it wears.
Kerry vs. Bush the Fake Election Contest.......2006-03-17
This book is the history of the people who are currenty running the world. They are basically wealthy businessmen who belong to this elite Yale fraternity. They workied with Hitler against the Allies. They play by their own rules and use the CIA. The brotherhood of the bonesmen is sacred above all else. So in 2004, what did we have? Two bonesmen from elite Yale families. That may explain Mr. Kerry's lack of effort in fighting the election fraud. Read the book and you will be less surprised when the country breaks out in civil war between the classes.
A through academic look at a THE powerful and mysterious secret society.......2006-01-31
Sutton's book is a thorough academic treatment of America's most powerful and most mysterious secret society--the Order of Skull & Bones at Yale University. The book is very scientific in form--Sutton states hypotheses and then sets out to prove them with facts, some of drawn from secret membership lists, but most of them publicly available. Using this method, Sutton is "going to argue and present detailed precise evidence (including names, dates, and places) that the only reasonable explanation for recent history in the US is that there exists a conspiracy to use political power for ends which are inconsistent with the Constitution." Sutton's stance is that an order founded in 1832 has set out to conspire to control US policy for their own means, in an illegal, secret, conspiratorial manner.
Sutton reveals some fascinating information about the Order, such as the fact that 77% of all members are in law, education, business, finance, and industry, which are the key fields for control of society. The Church accounts for 2% of members. "Notably the areas of society least represented are those with the least ability to influence the structural direction of society. They may give dept and richness to society, but are not essential to its control and direction." Examples of such occupations include engineering, the arts, architecture, and agriculture.
Sutton's text is an exhaustive look at the membership rosters of the Skull & Bones. He goes above and beyond to tie members to US political events and the generations of influential members. Sutton does not delve into the scandalous secret rituals and the top-secret selection process for members; readers are referred to a sensationalist 1970's GQ magazine expose for such details.
The book concludes with a year-by-year membership roster, which was previously unheard of due to the oath members take to deny membership in the society at all costs. Sutton's text also includes a comprehensive index, as well as numerous visual aids in the form of hierarchical charts, a reprint of rare materials on the order, (limited) secret publications and logos, government memorandums, and more.
Sutton gets 5 stars for the resulting academic work, for his research, for his thorough methodology. As an armchair reader, this book is less than stellar, but then again, Sutton didn't set out to write a sensationalist Hollywood-style novel.
Hard to Read but Informative.......2005-09-13
This book tends to get boring as it is written for very high brown readers. If this author had been able to break it down for the average American to read, he would have had a more powerful text to share.

Book Description
A real-life detective story of the ancient world with overwhelming implications for the modern one.
• Explores the Native American legend of the 13 crystal skulls said to hold the keys to future earth changes and humankind's destiny.
• By independent filmmakers Chris Morton and Ceri Louise Thomas, whose A&E documentary on the crystal skulls has won high acclaim in the United States and abroad.
• Over 100,000 sold worldwide.
Native American legend tells of 13 life-size crystal skulls said to contain crucial information about humankind's true purpose and destiny. The legend prophesied that at a time of great crisis for humanity, all of the crystal skulls would be rediscovered and brought together to reveal information vital to the very survival of the human race. The authors first heard of this legend while in the jungles of Central America and, after a real crystal skull was discovered in a Mayan city, set out on a quest to discover the truth behind this mystery.
The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls follows their journey from the ancient temples of the Maya to the British Museum, the Smithsonian, and to the crystal laboratories of Hewlett-Packard, where sophisticated scientific tests on the skull--made from the same quartz crystal used in today's computers--lead to the conclusion, "This skull shouldn't even exist." These scientific tests have raised many questions: Are the skulls really information storage devices that allow us to tap deep into the past and predict the future? Are they artifacts from the lost civilization of Atlantis or are they extraterrestrial in origin? Their journey also leads to Native shamans and elders who reveal the sacred knowledge and vital information that these skulls hold about coming earth changes and humanity's imminent destiny.

Great Book to read even if you're not a big reader!!! .......2007-02-19
Wow!!!! Great Book! I went to Mexico last year and visited Chichenitza and heard the stories of the crystal skulls and was entriged. This book (based on facts)takes you on an adventure of how some of the skulls were found and the effects they have on people. The history and native beliefs and also how scientifically; they are an enigma. I couldn't put this book down and I'm usually one of those people who starts to read and falls asleep in the middle of a chapter.... Not this book!!! It's great!! I highly recommend!!
*Have we entered a time of quickening and separation??
*Is 2012 the end or a beginning?
Perhaps the most comprehensive book on the subject.......2006-06-20
This book often reads like a great adventure novel; however, at some points inthe story it can essentially be considered as such. This is a wonderful view into the world of the crystal skulls, and it is well worth the investment to anyone who chooses to work with these sacred tools. This is also a valuable book to any advanced stoudent of any application of crystals.
The Mystery Ends In 2012.......2005-08-31
This is an excellent book for those with a peaked interest in the interconnection of all people and our pasts. Or in laymen terms Crystal Skulls. This book takes a very broad examination of a very expansive subject. It does explore the most common beliefs/concepts about the skull, not just popular or scientific. They really combed the world to ask the right people. From Native American shaman to top level scientists working for Hewlett Packard when they conducted scientific tests on the Mitchell-Hedges Skull in 1970.
Excellent bibliography, an excellent beginning to a quality bookcase.
Everyone In The World Should Read This Book.......2005-08-28
It's a wonderful surprise when you pick up a book not knowing much about it and it turns out to be so great. That's what happened to me with this book.
Just by reading this one book you can get caught up on the entire new age movement. It touches on many of the main new age ideas.
It also offers a possible theory for the origin of our human race including the time when our dna was converted from a single strand to two strands which contain the memories of both the original earth people and the star people.
These crystal skulls, especially the original 13 that were given to humanity by beings from other planets, are exquisite and priceless works of art. But they are much more. When they have been brought back together they will become an amazing 'living library' of ancient and arcane knowledge.
These skulls can truly be called sacred objects. It is not often that a physical object can be said to possess supernatural properties.
The big question is what is going to happen on 12/21/12 when this current age ends.
Will we enter a new age of peace and wonderous knowledge ?
Or will our human race simply die out as a result of pollution, greed, and violence ? This book has been published at this time to hopefully prevent this from happening.
Only time will tell and we don't have too long to wait.
Jeff Marzano
Top Shelf.......2004-03-18
I loved this book! It is filled with fascinating stories and information concerning something very concrete. It flows beautifully and holds you with ease. The Native American angle is especially intriguing. In the end, of course, you end up wanting more to sink your teeth into. But that is the curse of a great read.

Shadows II, Skulls II & Spooks II
ASIN: 1419637231
Release Date: 2007-02-05 |
Book Description
In Nineteen fifty-five a Shadow Government was established by Executive Orders, and operated covertly with success for twenty years during the very warm Cold War. Then under pressure from Congress in Nineteen Seventy-five, new Executive Orders were issued to make the Shadow Government, with its Black Chamber operations, vanish. This secret operation remained nonexistent history until exposed in Two thousand and three. This is a story about sixteen naïve young people. Upon graduating from high school on one Memorial Day, they enlisted and became highly trained and qualified Master Assassins by the following Memorial Day. They were recruited to be deadly tools of the trade for a “One Nation under God” Shadow Government. The young people were displacement specialists for dispatching humanities hemorrhoids from the “nasty now and now” into the “sweet bye and bye.” They helped balance out the political “World Order” of things, and the valuable economic benefits of the U. S. of A. around the world.

Shadows Skulls Spooks -- two books.......2007-05-23
Shadows, Skulls, and Spooks is a two-book fascinating tale of 16 talented young men recruited into a secret Shadow Government operation -- the Pooka Brigade -- trained to be efficient killers and then assigned to kill to protect our Country's regional, political, and economic interests. Half of the first Brigade survived and the best of them went on to assemble another Pooka Brigade (covered in Book II).
Established and, 20 years later, terminated by Executive Orders, their Black Chamber units functioned in extreme secrecy. You will feel the tension and intrigue as they carry out their unbelievable assignments.

Thank God for Third Party Sellers on Amazon!.......2007-08-24
Steven Hager wrote in his review:
"Skull and Bones runs the White House, tv news, major newspapers, Yale University, legal drugs, illegal drugs, and much of the prison industrial complex, which is turning into a gulag with 10 million people currently in jail, on probation or awaiting sentencing."
Oh, my God. Now I am starting to understand. This review gave me chills up and down my arms, and now all over my body down to my legs and feet... I think this qualifies as "believing it!"
I guess if one can't buy and sell slaves now, one CAN run the prison system and "buy and sell prisoners" and all that is required to catch them and keep them locked up. Just like the slaves in days of old... I never thought about this before, but "packing them in tightly" into overcrowded jails is not much different than "packing them in tightly" into the slave ships crossing the ocean a few hundred years ago. (from Wikipedia on the Cabot family earning it's fortune.)
What a devastating thought. I could never understand why our country would spend the same money it takes to send a kid to an upper class school by sending him to prison - $25,000 p/yr and up here in NC for a year in jail same as what it costs to send a student to Duke University!
Now I'm getting an inkling. Scary but "knowledge is power" and I am on a real "need to know" basis.
I'll buy it. Thanks to the author of the book, Kris Millegan, and to the author of this review, Steven Hager. Yours, CT
2nd note: The other reviewer made an excellent point about the book not being available via [...] directly. How can this be? Thank God for used books by third parties on Amazon.
I really need to see what this book has to say. I am so distressed over reports of our country's "founding fathers" and richest fammilies great fortunes being made by importing opium and selling slaves and rum. I just can't believe it. How did I study history and never learned this when I was in school?
Stands to reason why our country is so rich, powerful and corrupt, and why the rest of the world calls us "The Barbarians" but can't wait to get here themselves to taste "the spoils of war and riches." Just like the CIA popped Noriega when he no longer wanted to share the spoils of the cocaine drug trade (if I am remembering this right), is this the same thing as "the war on Terror" that is enslaving this country right now?
And this could all be emanating from ONE COLLEGE CLUB that our state senators and presidents come from? What is going on here? How could we all be fooled for so long?
But who cares, as long as we have our TV, video games and iPods, right?
, criminals

This book is a compilation of book excerpts, historical analyses (Nazi financing), energy prospects (cold fusion, free energy), memories and comments, all more or less related to the secret lodge `Skull & Bones'.
It tries to prove that the secret lodge is a den for high level conspiracy: `a shadow government that controls political decision-making, not only for their own profit, but also to the detriment of the rest of the society'.
However, one gets the impression that the lodge is more a meeting place than an anti-democratic network. One can understand that some ideas are discussed during the meetings, but the eventual implementation of those ideas is decided at another and higher level. As one commentator says:
`Washington means the FBI, the CIA and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.'
One should not confound `Skull & Bones' with the misuse of political and economic power by `an undemocratic wealthy elitist clique of materialist ideologues in secret cabals at the highest level of society.'
On the other hand, one should also not underestimate the influence of the lodge network all over the world, e.g. `Puppet Masters - The political Use of Terrorism in Italy' by Philip Willan.
This book contains valuable information on the origin of wealth of some Western families (opium trade), the CIA budget, the financing of political parties before and during World War II and the history and memberships of `Skull & Bones.'
The best parts of the book are the excerpts of `The Unauthorized Biography' of G.W. Bush, by W.G. Tarpley and A. Chaitkin.
A very mixed bag.
Skull & Bones.......2006-04-14
This book is a huge (well over 700 pages) collection of essays and articles by various authors on Yales Skull & Bones society. This book runs the gamut from the wildly conspiratorial to reprints of mainstream historical type articles on the fraternity system and elitist secret societies at Yale. Some of the topics discussed in this are Bonesmen being involved in the drug trade, from the Chinese opium wars in the 1800's to CIA planes smuggling cocaine in the 1980's, the Bush family and other S&B members being involved with bankrolling both the Nazis and the Bolsheviks, the various shenanigans that can be attributed to Bonesmen involved with the CIA, Skull & Bones and 9-11, the disproportionate amount of world elites that came out of this very small group, 15 members of every senior class at Yale, even both candidates for the US presidency in the last elections were Bonesmen. Also among LOTS of other stuff it goes into the what is known of the weird occultic rituals and initiations that members go through.
This is a great book for anybody into conspiracy stuff, wants to know more about various shady CIA deeds or anybody interested in some of the foul things the Bush family have been involved with.
My take on Skull & Bones is its like a minor league team where they are picked out of the pile and groomed for bigger things. Depending on how they "perform" they get strings pulled and doors opened for them. Not all S&B people become Presidents, Senators, supreme court judges, members of the CFR, or Bilderburgers, high ranking CIA officials, or Presidential cabinet members, but an awful lot of them do and when you consider the track record of many former Bonesmen I have to say there is obviously "rotten in Denmark" going on with these people.
A testament to the evil forces running this country.......2005-11-08
Conspiracy has become a sensitive word, and to those who never read this book, it's meaning may continue to be unclear. But not so for those who are willing to honestly assess the past and present of Yale University and the power struggles behind it by reading this book. The breadth and variety of the articles is at times overwhelming and sometimes overreaching its boundaries(ie a brief history of college fraternities), but there is more than enough to make even the most hardened fan of the US administration scratch their heads.
Regardless of the conclusions one makes from this book, Skull and Bones is a very real organisation that clearly has a malicious intent. What I respect most about this work is does not stop at scratching the surface of Skull and Bones, but goes to great lengths to suggest that it is in many ways an organisation founded on the human misconception of elitism. From the puritanical sect of Calvinism that broke off from Protestant England in the 17th century, Yale itself was formed on the idea that Jesus died not for everyone, but for the few 'pre-ordained'.
In instances such as the Opium wars, to the rise of bolshevism and naziism, skull and bones, or some variation of its constituents, has been involved. There is a great article contained therein which gives a precise analysis of the secret society based on the scientific method. Other articles explaining the varying societies that exist within Yale and their struggle for hegemony, shed light on just how deeply the need for seperatism is ingrained into the human psyche. Just about the only major flaw that can be attributed to this amass of insights is the lack of a comprehensive index, relegating the book to less respectable in the eyes of serious analysts.
Seeing as the 'dumbing down' of America is taking place right before our eyes, it seems appropriate to end with a quote from a man who the history books have chosen a prestigious, almost matryical role for, Abraham Lincoln: "Wise statesman....established these great self-evident truths, that when in the distant future some man, some faction, some interest, should set up the doctrine that none but rich men, or none but white men, were entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, their posterity should look up again at the Declaration of Independence and take courage to renew the battle which their fathers began..."
The best book on Bones.......2005-11-07
This book is a much better choice that Ms. Robbins book, if you are looking for information on Skull and Bones. Fleshing out Skull and Bones is a large collection of articles written by a variety of people. Most interesting is a lengthy article written by a daughter of a member of the order, providing first hand insights into the society. It also provided a huge body of documents on the society. At over 700 pages, it is a bargain buy.

Action Mystery.......2005-07-07
After several of the previous books in this series were somewhat disappointing, this book was a welcome improvement. The author paced the action better and formulated the mystery better than in the books just prior to this book. While I rated this book at four stars, when I compare this book with other books in the series I think it is one of the better books in this series.
Frank and Joe Hardy become involved in a mystery surrounding a new reservoir for Bayport. The reservoir is complete, but the water level is not rising. To be more specific, the water level rises during the daytime, but then drops during the night. If authorities are unable to solve the mystery, Bayport may soon be out of water.
Some of the Hardy Boys mysteries are very convoluted and complicated. This story has a much simpler, focused story. The story still has multiple facets, but everything revolves around why the reservoir will not fill. Because the story has focus, it is easier to follow, and I think it is also more interesting. I also think that because of the focus, the main story line has more detail than many of the previous books in this series, particularly those with multiple overlapping mysteries that the author often explains minimally.
This story also has fewer science elements, which many of the previous books handle poorly. This story focuses on the mystery and uses as little science as possible to establish the story and the mystery. Because of the focus and the minimal reliance on science, this story is easier to read and easier to believe. Because the author focused this story more tightly focused than previous stories, it is also more enjoyable. I look forward to the next mysteries in this series to see if the author maintained the quality of the story line exhibited by this book.
The Hardy Boys series is recommended for ages 8 to 12 because the series is relatively tame for the previous target audience of ages 10 to 14. However, the series still contains some interesting moments and will keep most readers guessing the answers to the mysteries until the final solution is revealed.
Hardy Boys Forever....!!!!.......2002-06-05
Bayport is suffering a water shortage due to water from a newly constructed reservoir mysteriously disappearing at night. Deciding to take on this 'mystery' for a bit of fun, Frank and Joe Hardy along with their best friend Chet, soon find themselves the target of a sequence of deadly attacks to get them off the case.
You might find the writing style of the book a bit dated due to the age of the novel, but you will soon get 'sucked in' to the story disregarding the 'cornyness' of the style. It follows the basic layout of a Hardy Boy story, the most noticable being the case they are working on has something to do with the case their famous detective father, Fenton Hardy, is also working on in Chicago. Great for young readers and nostalgic value. RECOMMENDED TO ALL!!!
A mysterious book!.......2002-03-17
I enjoyed reading this book. It was pretty fun, adventurous, and mysterious. Like many of the other Hardy Boys books, it is fun and exciting and it is hard to put the book down after a few chapters. There is always something suprising at the end of each chapter. When I tell myself to read just one chapter, I end up reading the whole book instead! I think this book may be one of my favorite books in the whole Hardy Boys Series.I enjoyed this book mostly because it is pretty humorous in some parts when Frank and Joe trick Chet. Overall, I really enjoyed reading the book.
The Secret of Skull Mountain.......2002-02-16
This book was the best in the series. I have most of the hardy boys books. I love reading them. They are so exciting to read. I read one chapter a night before I went to bed and I couldn't put it down it's so exciting to read these books. My favorite part in the book was when they kept finding skulls on the ground, and in caverns and crevices. I would recomend this book to a person who likes mystery.
A Great Book.......2001-12-13
This review concerns the original 1948 edition and the revised 1966 edition. The revised edition follows the plot of the original and only had some events cut to eliminate some pages. Bayport is facing a water shortage when the newly constructed reservoir on Skull Mountain will not fill with water. The funny thing is that the water level in the reservoir rises during the day, but then it falls again at night. Frank, Joe and Chet camp out on Skull Mountain with two engineers to try to solve the mystery. Both editions are really great books; the original is well-written (the revised edition lost much of the rich language of the original, for that reason I'd rate it 4 stars), both have lots of interesting characters, a lot of action and an intriguing mystery. This book is what the series needed to get back on track following the extremely disappointing "The Phantom Freighter". Both books are really good; although, if possible, I'd recommend reading the original. I can't think that any Hardy Boys fan would find either of these books boring.

Product Description
This book is an overview of the conspiracies that encompass the world today. They slowly move our world in the direction of The New World Order, a one-world government ruled by rich and powerful cliques and organizations. Certain people such as Larry McDonald knew of their existence and paid with their lives. This overall conspiracy consists of many organizations which fall into three main categories or arms: 1 a financial arm, 2 a political arm, and 3 a religious arm.
With the religious arm the conspirators aim to create a one-world religion which will supplant all others. To that end, they have engaged the services of the Anti-Christ.
The conspiracy also employs the news media and education establishments to disguise their actions and words, giving them relative anonymity while they pursue their one-world goals. They are thus able to make changes on the surface called the world while they hide Beneath the Tide.
Control over the media and educational establishments has enabled the conspiracy to ridicule with impunity any who dare to call public attention to their machinations. Such ridicule and defamation has resulted in a public mind set that, today, automatically rejects all attempts to bring the truth to light. So the truth swims against a strong public sentiment of rejection, which was carefully created by the conspiracy many years ago.
