Book Description
Michal Dutkiewicz may know many things, but when it comes to illustrating stunningly beautiful women, the man is a frickin' genius! Placing his exquisite ladies in all manner of settings, from the primordial caveman past to the far flung flying-car future. Michal's results are simply breath-taking! Cheesecake has never been this rich, this delicious, and this totally satisfying. (And no calories to worry about either!)
Customer Reviews:
Crazy for Pinup?.......2005-09-08
Michal Dutkiewicz is a unique artist that creates fantay and pinup images that sometimes almost look real. His imagination and detail bring the drawings to life. This is a must book to add to any artist collection. At the end of the book, each photo has a description of the art that is very informative.
Book Description
Hooking up is cool, but holding out can be even better. Many women don't feel great about hooking up before they're really ready, but they're not sure how to go about holding out and still keep the guy interested. Most books that recommend holding out prescribe tired old retro games--not picking up the phone or pretending to have a date already. This straight-talking guide is new, different and smart. You can have a great time with men, hold plenty of power and just be yourself!
Hooking Up or Holding Out shows you how to:
- Decide when the time is right and when it's just impulse sex
- Settle for nothing less than the very best sex life
- Hold off unwanted advances and play the field
- Make friends with lots of men and go on plenty of great dates
- Create a romance that's artful and full of passion
- Hook up with truly great men
- Have more fun in love than ever before
Customer Reviews:
Irresponsible...at best!.......2007-09-12
The thought of my 19 year old daughter reading this book and believing it's lies is unthinkable. Where's the chapter on STD's and how about unexptected pregnancy....and how do you find true love while so heavily focusing on SEX? If you'd like to be used by men, expose yourself to STD's and unwanted pregnancy and a ton of HURT...read the book and take the author's advice. I believe the message of this book is one of huge irresponsibility.
I used to give out. Then I gave up. Now I'm giving it another shot........2007-02-15
Honest to God, there are those souls in the world who manage to succeed in a lot of areas in their lives, but still register "idiot" in the love region. That would be me. I stumbled over this author's "Modern Love" essay in the Sunday NYTimes last summer, then made a note to buy her book. What the heck, I thought. Her tale of meeting and falling in love with her husband was charming and quirky and involved the semi-colon (I'm an editor; things like this turn me on). Anyway, when the book came out in November, I rushed to buy it. Then when I got it home, I didn't read it. I thought, what am I, a 49 year-old woman who buys her underwear on aisle 7 of the local Stop'n Shop, doing with a book that's gonna tell me how to find love....with another mammal? Okay, so I skimmed through parts of it. I admit I got a few good points from reading "How to Flirt". (You are supposed to do it quickly and softly, not lard it on with winks and a wonder bra.) Then all hell broke loose when I stumbled over the section called PENISES HAVE EARS. What a slap-to-the-forehead epiphany that was! I thought, how can this woman--Jamie Callan--know this happens??? That little section was all the reason I needed to hunker down and read the ink off this book. How'm I doing, you wonder, as this is valentine's day and I'm filing this interview? Well, I can honestly say, a little better. It was Callan's "build a coterie" idea that actually turned things around a bit. As well as her practical advice on saying no. (I used to think that if you said no, a man felt a phantom, rusty-toothed bear trap snap down over his privates.) No, no, no. Not true. And even Diana Vreeland said something like it once: Elegance is refusal. But who would believe a scented candle-burning, scotch-at-noon swilling dowager who ruled Vogue astride a rubber doughnut? The other thing Callan says is, men play games. Maybe that is clear to some people, but not to this hayseed. And as I read through her descriptions of these games, I certainly did remember witnessing some of them. With a wince and a whimper, I did. I'm doing okay. The coterie is a funny lot, comprising a few more women maybe than men, but there are men in it, and we're shuffling along with each other. It isn't dull. Seems a few of them have hot brothers, or amiable exes, etc. I recommend this book.
Funny, informative, radical!.......2007-02-12
Under the guise of a laugh out loud, breezy read, Jamie imparts what are several radical notions given the current dating climate (for instance, wait and see what he's really all about before you take the plunge). The book is also direct (if you let them in your house, they expect "some") without being demeaning to men. Jamie's approach restores fun, romance, and intrigue into what has become in some ways a degrading and masochistic scene. Every dating woman, young and mature, should read this before venturing out.
Funny & Insightful.......2007-02-12
I'm not single and not looking to date anyone, but I found the book to be funny, insightful, and very interesting. There is a lot of truth here, and some helpful tips for keeping a marriage interesting, and also for keeping your life your own.
I will sell you my copy........2007-02-11
Oh wait I can't sell it to you because I returned it the day I got.
I felt gyped and duped by the all the previous 5 star reviews.
The book quotes liberally from other books mostly written by men telling how you need to be to interest them; them being serial daters, seducers and the like.
If you like your relationships compartmentalized; if you like the "The Rules" or Mars/Venus then this book is for you.
For a more holistic approach I would recommend Charlotte Kasl.
Book Description
The course of teen love never did run smooth, but these days it seems bumpier than ever. Children are growing up faster and pushing the boundaries of sexuality earlier, as well as facing new kinds of pressures most parents have never even dreamed of.
You cannot shut down your daughter's hormones. What she is feeling—the thrill of romantic anticipation and the euphoria of falling in love—is biologically programmed and age appropriate. But watching your daughter discover boys is both exciting and scary. Before you lies a major challenge: helping your daughter navigate the oncoming rush of romance during the young adolescent and teen years.
Boy Crazy! shows you how to recognize and remember what your daughter is going through—the excitement of a first date, the throes of a first crush, or the pain of a first broken heart. It also gives you insight into what teen love is like today, and helps you establish yourself as your family’s authority on relationships—no longer will daughters feel starved for guidance and forced to turn to the suspect guidance of the media or peers.
Learning how to enjoy romance and build healthy relationships are some of the most important skills to have throughout our lives. This book is a blueprint to understanding and helping your coming-of-age daughter start to develop those skills.

Hooray!.......2006-04-05
Finally, a well-thought-out and fantastically written book on how to deal with our Boy Crazy daughters. Giannetti and Sagarese, who both have elder daughters, write from experience and the experience of many frustrated parents in this how-to guide on teenage girls. Any parent with a daughter should absolutely purchase this book!

everyone should read this.......2004-07-19
Going Crazy Till Wednesday is an awesome book of which should be read by everyone, especialy teens! The story follows Becca as she works at the Outreach Community Center with the homeless people there. After a leadership retreat, Becca decides that the children at the shelter can benefit from the programs that Camp Timberline has to offer. She decides that the children and teens at the shelter can benefit from this program. More importantly, she feels that this is what God wants her to do. Becca puts everything and everyone else-including God-on hold for this program. In the process she finds that all of her relationships have been destroyed. She no longer reads her Bible or writes to God in her journal. She has dumped all of her excess load on the Brio Girls and Tyler, who are mad at her, and she completely forgets her boyfriend. That's not all-her sister picks up all her chores at home and her little brother is neglected. Tired, worn out, and feeling upset over all the mess she's created, Becca shows up at the homeless shelter one evening and creates a disaster so awful that she's forced to evaluate her priorities. And she learns the true meaning of Phillipians 4:13, which up until the end of the book she learns she's been taking out of context. A must read for everyone under 25 who's ever been too busy!
I Went Crazy Till I was done reading this book.......2003-12-20
GOING CRAZY TILL WEDNESDAY was a magnificent, realistic novel that kept me "going crazy till" I was finished with it. Any Christian teen girl will like it, especially if you like the Brio magazine. But be sure to read these books in order- they make more sense that way. Consider reading this story of Becca McKinnon if you enjoy reading fiction that has a good, uplifting message.

From fraternity and sorority parties to mental and physical abuse, you wont want to put this one down! And so the drama begins....
Customer Reviews:
Truth Being Told.......2007-07-28
Seriously, we have all done something worth cringing about. This book brings about some of those things that make you scratch your head and want to go hide under a rock...but the title is very fitting.
Innocent + Psycho = Major Drama.......2007-02-21
What happens when naïve meets psycho...major drama. Java Weathersby tackles some tough issues in her newly released book Crazy Men Can Make You Do Crazy Things. Based on a true story, Weathersbys' first adventure into the real world is not what she had hoped for. Impressionable, to say the least, Java a gusty freshmen suddenly finds herself caught up in the social world of campus life. Smitten by one smooth talking fraternity man, who is simply known as Omar, this college sweetheart is eager to please. Sensing that she is willing to do almost anything to keep him, Omar uses extreme measures to tests the limits of her love.
An emotional rollercoaster ride from the very beginning, Crazy Men Can Make You Do Crazy Things is a must read. Informative as well as entertaining, Weathersby does a nice job of engaging readers about the importance of loving ones self and the need for mutual respect in relationships. A fresh voice on the literary scene, Weathersbys' writing is simple, clean and easy to follow.
Is Craziness Contagious?.......2006-12-24
Java Weathersby's novel, CRAZY MEN CAN MAKE YOU DO CRAZY THINGS, is based on a true story, and answers the question: Is craziness contagious? Beginning with her high school years and moving into college, Weathersby weaves an enjoyable tale about her life and relationships with men.
In high school Java begins dating Miguel after they attend a school dance together. They appear to have a good relationship, but underneath the surface Miguel is dealing with some issues that will keep these two from ever really being more than friends. While Miguel has issues he is not the first official crazy man she will date, instead he is a stepping stone to Omar, a man whom she meets in college. Omar is everything a girl can ask for; he takes her places, buys her things and seems to have a genuine interest in her. Java moves out of her mother's house and into Omar's apartment, and things begin to change for her. He becomes obsessed with her even to the point that he kidnaps her rather than allowing her to go to a dance. Java enters the relationship as a virgin and the two are not having sex so Java is willing to allow Omar to go outside the relationship for sexual gratification. To make matters worse, during the time that she is dealing with Omar she goes out on a date with a co-worker to get revenge on Omar and ends up dealing with another crazy man who attempts to rape her. Java continues her relationship with Omar and doesn't realize how bad things are until she finds herself alone on the streets in the middle of the night.
CRAZY MEN CAN MAKE YOU DO CRAZY THINGS is an intriguing tale that will have readers saying, "No she didn't!" or" What is she thinking?" The novel is written in a conversational tone and will keep the reader interested in what will happen next. The only downside is the length. Weathersby mentions in both the introduction and the end that this is only the first book with emphasis on one relationship; however, it could be longer. Overall, this book will take you through a range of emotions, will make you laugh, and make you wonder. All this while teaching a lesson to stay away from crazy men because you never know when or if their craziness will rub off on you.

A Crazy Read Indeed!!.......2006-06-02
I had the pleasure of reading "Crazy Men Can Make You Do Crazy Things" and I enjoyed the novel. It was one that you could not put down because you wanted to know what crazy antics were going to happen between Java and her men. It also brought to life the New Orleans we miss so much. I am ready for the sequel to see how crazier things will be. Java, continued success with your writing career!!
Right On Time...!.......2006-05-26
I don't know if I'm the first male to read this book, but as a father of an 18 year old daughter, entering college for the first time, I must say that this book came RIGHT ON TIME! Many times I wondered if I sheltered my daughter so much that she would easily fall prey to the "smooth-talking" brothers in college that this author spoke of. I know about all the mind games that they play, because I played them when I was in college. My worst nightmare would be for my daughter to meet "the old me" in school.
The author does an excellent job in expressing a view that is seldomly spoke of...the view of a naive, 18 year old virgin. She exposes the manipulative ways of (some) college males that have more than just an education on their minds. Let's face it, because this was a true story, you may say that she was too naive, or some may even say she was stupid...but the bottom line is, we were all raised differently and WE ARE WHO WE ARE and ultimately, nobody but Jesus can change that.
My daughter has NO CHOICE but to read this book. Just as the write-up says, it made me laugh, cry and at times, mad as hell, because all I could see was my daughter walking in this author's shoes.
EVERY COLLEGE OR COLLEGE-BOUND FEMALE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK.
May God continue to use this book to entertain, but more importantly, to help others. Hats off to Java Weathersby...A JOB WELL DONE!!

Book Description
Fast-paced, warm, and laugh-out-loud funny, What Comes After Crazy chronicles a quest for normalcy that nearly drives a woman nuts.
Maz Lombard craves a nice, quiet life—and who can blame her? Having grown up as the daughter of Madame Lucille, “Fortune Teller to the Stars,” she spent her Southern childhood traveling from town to town, wondering which of the many men her mother brought home would become her next stepfather (in a long line of stepfathers). Maz’s soon-to-be-ex-husband Lenny left for Santa Fe after his very public affair with a fetching young daycare teacher imploded. And Maz’s daughter Hope has become convinced she’s inherited the family “seeing” gene and is scaring her classmates with séances and dark prophecies.
When Lenny shows up on the doorstep wanting another chance, and Madame Lucille pulls into town with her newest husband, any chance Maz has for a simple, ordinary life seems to go out the window. But is life at its craziest also at its most instructive? Will seeing her family in all its complicated, infuriating, and mystifying splendor enable Maz to define herself on her own terms and live the life she’s always wanted?
Delightful, rollicking, but most of all unforgettably touching, What Comes After Crazy marks the debut of a radiant new talent in women’s fiction.

“Funny, funny, funny, from page one. You can’t help but root for the lovable Maz Lombard, who’s surrounded by an eccentric mother, headstrong daughter, deadbeat husband, and way too much whole wheat flour. Sandi Kahn Shelton’s writing sparkles with humor and insight.” —Lolly Winston, author of Good Grief
“I loved What Comes After Crazy. Smart, warm, and hilarious!” —Jennifer Crusie, author of Bet Me and Faking It
“A book about slaying dragons (the ultimate toxic mother and lame estranged husband), What Comes After Crazy shows that a woman can be the hero of her own life. A comedy with all the avenging and day-saving you can handle, but without any messy bloodshed.” —Valerie Frankel, author of The Girlfriend and The Accidental Virgin
“[A] promising debut novel . . . [Shelton] has a good touch with mother/daughter conflicts and a strong sense of the ambiguities of friendships. Her Maz is a sympathetic character not in spite of but because of her self-acknowledged flaws. . . . Appealing and often very funny.” —Kirkus Reviews

Customer Reviews:
A pleasant surprise..........2007-07-05
I am not a huge fan of chick lit, but "What Comes After Crazy" is a delightful read. It was recommended to me by someone who knows I love Anne Tyler. While this isn't in that same caliber (it's much less literary) I can see why a comparison might be made. Both authors provide domestic novels full of colorful, ramshackle lives. Once I knew it was about a fortune teller's daughter with an estranged husband who is a religious con man, I knew it was up my alley.
While I didn't love everything about it (I could have done without the overly ideal Dr. Dan), it is definitely a highlight of my reading so far this year. I look forward to the author's other books.
Fast, enjoyable read about a quirky family.......2006-09-01
This is the story of Maz, who has 2 children in Connecticut, a husband in Santa Fe, and a fortune-telling mother who just married her sixth husband.
I thought a couple of the reviews above were off. I didn't think the sex scenes were coarse, and I didn't think Maz was curmudgeonly. Maz is a likable woman whose life is a little out of control, but it's an exciting ride to read about.
When Maz's unreliable husband and crazy mother descend on her house in Connecticut, that's when the fun begins.
I don't want to give away too much about the plot, but if you like domestic fiction written by women, it's almost a sure bet that you'll enjoy this. It reminded me a bit of Anne Tyler, but slightly earthier and more dramatic.
Loved this book!.......2006-07-22
I absolutely loved "What Comes After Crazy". Sandi Kahn Shelton has created characters who you really care about, particularly Maz and her daughters. I even cared about her crazy mother, Lucille. These are all characters who you feel like you know, not just on the page, but in real life, because they are tangible in the way that characters in a book rarely are. I strongly recommend this book!
Everybody has a complicated life..........2006-05-25
I loved this book because of the way the main character, Maz, deals with her own complicated life with humor and love. She just keeps plugging along, even though she was raised by a less-than-adequate mom and has to learn how to cope as an adult. I even loved Madame Lucille, crazy and wacky as she is. All the characters came alive. I don't think this book is a farce at all! It has a lot to say about our own crazy lives and the people who drive us a little bit nuts and how we learn to love them when we can, but eventually to rely on ourselves. I thought it was a fun book and a good read.
Despite all the good reviews..........2006-05-06
...I just didn't like this book. I found it to be dull...there is so much farce that it becomes overloading. I wanted desperately to love it, but just couldn't seem to get past the ridiculous drama. I didn't find it to be a fun read; I found it be a stressful one.
There are some wonderful, fun books in this genre. This is just one that didn't resonate with me.

Glitter Girl And the Crazy Cheese.......2007-01-10
This is a cute story and the illustrations are wonderful and imaginative. They really catch a toddler's attention. The older siblings love to read the story to the younger ones! There is so much action and fun in the illustrations, everyone is entertained! If you have a child who just won't eat his lunch, this is the book for him......or her!
A book for every child.......2006-04-12
My son is 2 1/2, he loved the book. I didnt think he would like it because it seemed too girly, but he loved it. It is the first book he memorized. I had to read it 8 times in 2 days. Every night he says "mom let's read cheese". He loves the bright colors and the grocery store.
Kids love Cheese!.......2006-04-11
My kids favorite book. Recently when Jack and Molly (ages 3 and 7)were tent camping (in Jack's room) they had me read the book every night. They love the Crazy Cheese and the fact that it has eyes, mouth, legs and arms. It's hilarious for kids. They really like the illustrations of the cheese, the cat and Glitter Girl. Great looking book. Highly recommended for Kids.
Excellent book for small children!.......2006-04-10
We bought Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese last week, and our kids loved it. The story is written as a long poem, and it's quite funny following the brief adventure of Glitter Girl chasing a piece of sliced cheese (which was supposed to be her lunch) across town.
The illustrations are very good, too. I highly recommend Glitter Girl and The Crazy Cheese. It's a great book for small children.
