Please remove "How to Draw" title........2005-04-06
This book should be titled, "A Different Way To Draw Action Dragonball Z" When I bought the series of these books for my children, I had hoped it taught sound and practiced drawing techniques that I wanted them to see, inline with what I taught them. Disappointed to say the least. If you get a chance to look at the book before you buy, just do one thing first... Look at page 16... need I say more.
(ps. the 1 star is for the colouring-in use my youngest gets from it)

Dragonball Z : How To Draw 2.......2007-03-17
This is a great book if you like Dragon Ball Z. You can learn how to draw them. Easy steps to go by.
What is this ...?.......2005-04-06
I got books from this series, disappointed to say the least. I have spent a lot of my time teaching my children drawing, and to interest them I got these books... shocked to see the instruction. Who in the world teaches drawing like that. Waste of my money and my children's time (practicing bad techniques)
How you feels depends on what you are looking for..........2003-12-20
I got this book for my son because he likes to draw dragon ball z caracters very much. He will do image searches on the internet and print out pics to copy or trace. For a child like him this kind of book would be good. The pictures are a nice size and very trace-able. Ultimately what you end up with is a line drawing that can be changed to suit you or to color as you like.
Some people will find that this would not suit their needs though. First, it has the appearence of a coloring book more than a how-to book. Most how to draw books show color (similar to the cover). These pics are black and white, uncolored and unshaded. Second, for a person who can not draw and wishes to actually learn I can't imagine that happening from this book.
The pics are done in stages with some how-to information but for a person who actually wants to learn how to draw I can't imagine them even being able to know how to get to step one from this book. That said for someone with some drawing skill the steps in how to get to a finished picture will be helpful.
My son likes this book but uses it more for tracing the figures than to actually free-hand them. When he is done tracing he will add features or change certain things and than color them. I think this would be a great adjunct book for a child who enjoys the Dragonball Z theme but as a *how to* book there are many that are much better.
i bet there are much better.......2002-10-02
what is da big deal anywayz.all it duz is make ya draw slowa.i could make 1 athousand more better.i drew em before i got da book.da book drawing looked worse
Not bad.......2002-09-25
not a bad book, although it doesnt really show you in detail how to draw them. on each page is a 5 stage walkthrough on how to draw the character, although it sounds good in reality its poor, the poses arnt exciting and the walkthrough is just a bunch of pictures with no text about preportion. there are only 5 or so characters to draw and the book is short but none the less fun to draw.

Totally worth it........2006-03-21
I recently got this book and at first intended to write a fairly sized review, but then I realised I won't have to do that. If I were to sum up this book I would say it's pretty good; worth every penny. But keep in mind that's just me.
The book is filled with new rules, features and powers to keep your games going with that fast paced Dragonball Z feel. I'm not saying it's perfect, not even close, but it's definitely worth giving a try if you have the first book. This new book also corrects a few faults in the rules from the first book, while adding new content at the same time. Also like the previous book it includes a variety of information on a range of things from the series (such as planets, characters etc).
The book is enough to keep your games going for a long time, or at least until you can get your hands on the next book. Either way it's worth checking out and totally worth the time, money and effort of getting it.
I would recommend this to just about anyone, keen role-players looking for something new, even general people interested in starting role-playing and of course to any Dragonball Z fans.
Not That Great, You Guys (a review by CYD).......2004-10-06
As all of you know, I am the Dragon Ball guru. Yeah, I'll admit this book has some good stuff in it, but a way better book is Pojo's Total Dragonball Z. It's way better, and it helped my understanding of Dragon Ball. For those of you who go for the extra fanciness, there is an updated second edition of the Pojo guide. (...)
The Frieza Saga.......2003-03-02
This is a cool book showing how to go super sayien 1, the rules for sayian rage, near death expirences, all of freza's forms and how to make your own character with different forms. All the z fighters chacters have impoved, and there are loads more new moves
Vast improvement on the first book.......2002-09-23
This book for the DBZ RPG continues the game through the Namek and Frieza Saga eras. Most notably, it includes some rule tweaks and clarifications that fix some of the flaws in the first book. Of course, it also includes useful new rules for DBZ fans like Namekian Fusion, multiple forms, Saiyan Rage and the Super Saiyan form. Note that if you heavily disliked the first book, this doesn't improve the system THAT significantly; but if you liked the rules aside from their flaws, you should be well pleased.

This book is so fun!.......2001-04-04
I just want to start by saying that this book was the best books that I have ever read. I loved every sentence and every word of it. I got it for my birthday, and I read it all the way through without putting it down even once. Except for when I had to go to sleep, or when I was in the shower. I have read this book all the way through now about five times, and a few times, I've read my favorite parts over and over again. This book it is very useful if you want more information on a certain subject about DragonBall, or if you want to know about episodes you haven't seen yet. I liked the chapter about action figures a lot, also the chapter about the role playing games. They were very fun to read. These authors are geniuses. I would like to write a DragonBall book, too.
I am DragonBallZ's biggest fan!.......2001-04-03
Hi, my name is Greg and I am 14 years old. I read this book and I really liked it! I have seen every episode of DragonBallZ that has been realesed in English. I thought I was the biggest DBZ fan on the planet. I bet there are alot of other big fans like me out there, too. I really loved this book. These guys are very funny and informative. I read this book 10 times. I recommend it to everyone who likes DragonBall Z.
I love Dragonball!.......2001-04-02
I love the book by Danny and Lois Gresh. I can see these guys are just as fanatical as myself about Dragonball. I have read their book over 30 times and I am still laughing! All of my friends bought this book, too. I am 11, and I really like the part about the role playing games these guys make up. This is a very funny book, and I learned a lot from it.
Customer Reviews:
Good, but has more potential........2006-03-21
Introduction: Firstly let me begin by saying I only recently got the book, so I haven't really had time to read everything in extreme detail. Now for a review, not hard, overall its a good book with potential. But I'll explain in more detail ...
How does the book span out? The book like other anime based role-playing books starts by explaining parts of the anime bit by bit before moving on into actual game rules and mechanics. This will be quite helpful if your planning on using the base characters and locations from the series, otherwise it might just end up a base for creating you own. It could end up as a reference more than anything else.
The book only really gets into the main mechanics around half way through, it starts with combat and how that works and goes to other things like powers and training. After its done with the bulk of the rules (which you will need to read more than once) it then moves onto some nice pointer tactics for battle situation, and even a short demo battle to give you a taste of what it's like during combat. This part of the book is good, not many faults on first glance.
A good thing about this book is it ends with some help on creating your own sagas and making campaigns, as well as some rules you might want to use in your games to keep them going smoothly. It really does try and help you create your enemies and settings as much as possible. This is something other game systems might try selling that as a separate book (not going to name and names).
Good points with the book: The strongest part of the book is really how well its been done. The makers could have gotten this very wrong, dull rules or unneeded complicatations but it seems it hasn't. The rules are faithful to the series and allow you to have the right Dragonball Z feel to your game. All this on my first read, several reviews make the same point and I now understand why.
Also the obvious reason why the book is good; its Dragonball Z in proper role-playing form!
Problems with the book: The first is really the amount of actual game content, or rather the lack of content. The book itself seems rather short (around 144 pages) and considering about half are filled with information rather than rules this lets the book down slightly. Adding to this the book only covers the Saiyan Saga (which might put some people off if you like the higher powered Sagas). This is ultimately going to irritate you, and that leads you onto the next problem; once you get this book you WILL want the others. "That's not a bad thing ..." I hear you say? - It is when it means forking out even more money for the books, and the hardest part; finding them. Yes, the other books (two others right now) as I found are quite hard to find. I eventually found them, but not for a cheap price.
Apart from than that my only problem is the obvious; bugs in the system. Like every role-playing system this one has it's problems, not that I have noticed any yet, but from reviews of the book I have seen suggest this book has some teething issues that are later sorted in further editions of the game. Another reason why you will want and possibly need to get the further editions to the game.
Conclusion: I know it might look like I'm being pretty negative, the bad points are a lot bigger than the good in my review but despite that I stand by saying the book is a great role-playing game. Not without it's problems, and yes it had more potential and I'm sure it will reach this when I receive the other books and read through them all. Right now I'm happy with the book, It's got a lot of great features and interesting possibilities and it`s looking to be a lot of fun, keeping in mind it's bad point I strongly recommend this to any keen role-players that are interested in Dragonball Z looking for something new and fun.
A Great Game but..........2001-10-10
They lacked in a few areas. I understood everything in the first read. I have found that over all, this is a near-perfect game... therefore I gave it a near-perfect score.Thankfully they made some revisions in the Frieza Saga book. I can't wait for the Trunks book to be out (Supposedly last week of September).
Great game,but takes a while to learn.......2000-10-07
The game is great, but you will have to read the instructions 3 or 4 times to fully memorize the rules the authors are geniouses and I cant wait for the freeza saga.DBZ fans will be amazed while RPG fans will have loads of fun.
Fun, but many errors.......2000-05-25
The overall idea of a DBZ RPG is good, and the system posited here works pretty well. However, the rules listed in this book are full of contradictions and many things are left unexplained. Currently, the book is most useful as a reference to the English version of DBZ as it gives info on all the characters (major and minor) in the Saiyan Saga (which is before trip to Namek). The game itself needs some work, so don't buy this if you expect to learn it quickly. Your best bet is to wait for the Frieza Saga book coming out soon, which hopefully will have rules errata for the main game (or maybe rewrite the whole thing).
Dragon Ball Z:Anime Adventure Game.......2000-05-15
I personaly like the book.It has the most oraginal and ostanding ideas i have ever seen. The book is good for all Dragon Ball Z/Gt fans.(I woulden't recommened it to new comers though)You have to get into the book and know at least part of the story line. When the book arrived i was over joyed and started reading it right away.If you have qusetions about the book contact me at THESUBLAW2@aol.com.The book is somewhat hard to get a hold of.You can get it here,Barens and noble or Comic Heven.I hope this helps you if not just e-mail me and i will try to help.

I'm Matthew Low, better known on both Pojo.com as the person who techs decks and stuff like that. I wrote one of the articles in this neat book; the Videl deck, dedicated to my sister.
This is one of the best things you can get if you want some tips starting out. Of course all card game books get outdated from time to time, but this one is all you need to catch up to right before Buu Saga. People like the almighty IQ and accomplished veterans like Zeller, Williams, and Fashbinder give their ideas. Most of the people included in this book (not all) are of the greatest there are in the game; take their advice.
It helps the person wanting to start out with a bunch of nothing, like the Cheap decks, to the tournament level ones like Richie's outdated Cell Namekian. More or less the decks are still good for the most part; make sure you swing by dbzcardgame.com and find any changes that have sprung up in the last few months.
If anything, read the articles. They are by far the most useful things you can read to help you in this game. The decks will get you started. After all, this is a beginner's book. If you are ready to go to the advanced/expert level, feel free to email me (go find my address in my article ^_^) for a deck tech or some tips.
So... I say get this book, especially if you need some help in the game of DBZCCG. It has a wealth of information you won't find ANYWHERE else. Get this. I said so.

It's about time!.......2003-06-17
It's about time someone created a book about the DBZ Card Game. This game has been around for years, and there's not too many places to get information.
This book is perfect for newbies, and people that are trying to get better. I think you World Champion type guys will enjoy it too, as you finally can read about your sport. ;-)
This book has History, Killer Decks, Top 10 Lists and more. My favorite part is the Top 20 Most Collectible Cards, as I like to collect the rare ones.
There's 96 pages ... and all of them are fun to read! Pick in up!
