Book Description
Legend has it that hidden in the remote reaches of the Himalayan mountains lies a secret that would have saved Ponce de Leon from years of fruitless searching. There, generations of Tibetan monks have passed down a series of exercises with mystical, age-reversing properties. Known as the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation or the Five Rites, these once-secret exercises are now available to Westerners in Ancient Secret of the Fountain Of Youth. Peter Kelder's book begins with an account of his own introduction to the rites by way of Colonel Bradford, a mysterious retired British army officer who learned of the rites while journeying high up in the Himalayas. Fountain of Youth then offers practical instructions for each of the five rites, which resemble yoga postures. Taking just minutes a day to perform, the benefits for practitioners have included increased energy, weight loss, better memory, new hair growth, pain relief, better digestion, and just feeling younger.
Customer Reviews:
Wonderful read-practice.......2007-08-23
The practice of the rites was recommended to me by a very dear friend who offered to loan me their book... Glad I immediately ordered mine! The practice of the rites is something I am working up to, as I am VERY out of shape, but I am confident that I will be able to perform them, and I am already seeing benefit, after 1 month. I also recommend the second book, which I ordered at the same time.
The information contained in this book changed my life........2007-08-17
I am so grateful to have been told about this book. I tell everyone I know about it. The commitment is so minimal and the reward to so great.
Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth: Book 1.......2007-07-27
Anyone who has wondered about the secrets of youth should do well by reading this book and focusing on a new reality inside the human body: the power of our vital glands. In the East, these are called "chakras" and they are thought to be energy-producing and energy-absorbing centers. The story, the exercises, the advice, and the claims posted by many people on the strength of tangible results, should not be overlooked. Simplicity here, is the key to an awesome power which lies within ourselves.
For those on a spiritual path that seek integration of Mind-Body-Spirit........2007-06-27
I discovered this book "accidentally" while browsing the web and I am really happy I did. Easy read, very precise instruction and a great story -while nobody really kows the validity of it, it still "feels right"! The rites are great, I do them every day but depending on your level of fitness and condition of body you might find one or more of them "tricky". However, they build up your strength very rapidly, you will be surprised. Just keep doing them. I have only been doing them for a short while, so I cannot attest to the regenerative effect, but I can attest to a very quick build up of strength for the weakest parts of my body (wrists). I actually felt the improvement and saw it in my performance in only 4 days! These exercises called "rites" supposedly realign your chakras (energy vortexes of your body) and restore youthfulness. They also have a very relaxing effect. You will feel like you are "gliding through life", stress levels majorly reduced. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
What if you could live forever? The Fountain is an odyssey about a man's thousand-year struggle to save the woman he loves. In three separate livesâTomas the conquistador, Tommy the scientist, and Tom the explorerâThomas is driven to discover the mysteries of life; all three stories converge into one truth as he comes to terms with life, death, love, and rebirth. The book is an extension of Aronofsky's cinematic vision, and will contain production stills of the film's stars Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz, original script, original art, and observations from creators Ari Handel and Darren Aronofsky. Edited by Darren Aronofsky, The Fountain is not so much a tie-in or a behind-the-scenes look at the film, but rather a thoughtful meditation on the film's provocative themes of life and death and its singular visuals.

Misconceptions.......2007-09-27
Before buying this, I took the risk of finding out whether I would receive the photo book or the actual graphic novel. It turns out, thank God, that I received the graphic novel. (For those who are interested, it is pretty much perfect and just as intriguing and multi faceted as the movie.)
I just wanted to point something out. Some reviews have said that when they bought this item, they received the coffee table photography book (which I plan on buying due to the overwhelmingly good reviews). Be careful when buying this. Make sure this is the cover you see in the cart and not the one of the photography book.
As for a formal review of the graphic novel itself, that will come this weekend when I read it over for the second time.
I hope this was a little useful to all future buyers.
An Artistic Centerpiece for Any Coffee Table.......2007-09-22
...But of course, I don't have a coffee table. Or a regular table. Anyhow, being a poor college student, I had to have this after seeing The Fountain the first time, and much more so after the fifth time.
Like the movie, the graphic novel follows the stories of Tommy and Izzi through time and, quite literally, space. With each attempt to save her and, in many ways, himself from whatever death lies ahead, Tommy comes to understand, in some way, the meaning of life. The question is, will he find the fountain of youth, in whatever form it may hide, in time? And will it matter?
Aronofsky's vision offers an amazing glimpse into the fears of mortality and loneliness, the beauty of love, and, ultimately, the concept of what it means to be alive.
The movie and graphic novel differ a little, but it is significant if you're really into the movie. A good comparison would be that the movie took a more scifi approach while the graphic novel is more fantasy. More preternatural with less reason (as if that were possible). If you didn't care for the movie, there's no way you'd want this. But if you loved what you thought the movie was going for or maybe just found it to be a beautiful thought, the graphic novel won't let you down.
A beautiful detour on the way to the screen.......2007-08-15
The delays & setbacks for "The Fountain" were pure serendipity in the end: not only was the film better for its revised casting & smaller budget, but this gorgeous graphic novel also saw the light of day. The story itself needs no further praise, except to say that like the film, it works wonderfully as a tone poem, with a simple (but never simplistic) plotline woven into an intricate design. And here it's complemented by Kent Williams' distinctive art, which has both an austere & lush beauty, perfectly conveying the emotional tones of this intense journey. Every line, every brushstroke, embodies passion, yearning, grief, joy. The graphic novel stands on its own as a work of art -- highly recommended!
Great!.......2007-08-02
I thought that this was the grapic novel for the fountain but was suprised when I got it. It is a book filled with beautiful pictures from the film and has the script for the movie in it too, if your a fan of the movie this is a must buy!
Beautiful.......2007-06-06
The story was as beautiful as the illustrations. A wonderful love story of a man coping with loss.

Required Reading.......2006-08-09
Great guidebook for anyone interested in "LIVING." Informative, entertaining, and motivating all in one read. Probably should be required reading for incoming freshman at University. Would have a more lasting impact and retention than most books found on traditional "required reading" lists.

A wise, sensible book on healthy aging.......2006-06-10
A smart, common sense alternative to all the junk science books out there on how to stay young forever. Deals with all the components which go into healthy aging from finances to fitness to staying active and finding fulfillment. No magic pills or secret fountains of youth, just practical, entertaining advice. A fun, informative read. As a a legal aid hotline attorney and owner a retail medical supply and equipment business, I feel this book would be very useful for my clients and customers.
Informative and Entertaining.......2006-05-31
I really enjoyed reading "Age Smart". It was not only full of useful and practical information but also very fun to read. The authors did a great job keeping the book light-hearted while providing solid information we can all use. I am someone who is in my late-thirties so the book spoke to me on many different levels. I understand now the importance of not only keeping my body in good shape, but that my financial and mental well-being is just as important. I recommend this book to everyone. I learned so much from reading it.
A superbly written book.......2006-05-26
I really enjoyed the book - it was very well written and I liked the balanced approach to aging. My favorite parts were the interviews because aging means so many different things to different people. It was good to know that things like staying curious and being an optimistic person are helpful in aging well and keeping the mind sharp. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone in their 30s, 40s and 50s who want to make sure they get to their older years in the best shape possible!
Age Smarrt- Discovering the Fountain of Youth to Midlife and Beyond.......2006-05-25
The simple fact of the matter is that we boomers are living younger--longer. In Age-Smart,Discovering the Fountain of Youth to Midlife and Beyond, Jeffrey Rosensweig and Betty Liu look at such issues as finances, health and well being, as well as numerous other issues that affect life expectancy. With an abundance of `sensory' caffeine that rejuvenates the spirit, such noted individuals as Former President Jimmy Carter, his wife Rosalynn, Helen Gurley Brown and myriad host of others, will force readers to re-think how they `see' the elderly. With such fun chapters as Just Say No to Pink Pants, Age Smart is chockfull of easy-to-use tips that supports that old adage,`that age is nothing but a number,' and I was humbled to be asked to be a part of what I predict will be a invaluable resource for men and women of all ages for years to come.

Many original, specially commissioned, hand produced line drawings present the pens in an exciting and informative matter. Required for any FP collector........2007-09-03
After writing Fountain Pens of the World (ISBN 0302006680) Andy reprises his position as the preeminent authority of an endangered writing instrument. The chronological and authoritative description of every major manufacturer is interlaced with some of the most beautiful and actual size photography of pens you'll ever see.
This volume is a work of art and effort of a true aficionado, the most comprehensive history of Sheaffer Pens you'll ever see is inside this book, the choice to break the history of Parker into the USA and UK versions is the mark of a purist.
Beautiful heavy stock paper ensures this volume will endure in your collection for decades.
Andy Lambrou's reputation is well deserved, and this is another work of art from the master.
Authoritative But Not Magical.......2002-02-18
Andreas Lambrou has once again produced an authoritative text on fountain pens. It is relatively comprehensive and has spectacluar photographs and line drawings. This is an excellent guide to learn the history of fountain pens and to identify fountain pens. While there can be no doubt that Mr. Lambrou cares very much about fountain pens, this does not come through in his prose style. Writing is straightforward and clear, but does not connect fountain pens to social history, industrial design, or the just plain joy of writing. Inclusion of several pages on the work of Classic Pens, Mr. Lambrou's own firm, which are of limited interest is a questionable decision.
Fountain Pens - U.S. and U.K........2001-07-14
This and other Lambrou books have been described as invaluable references for the collector. I agree, for the most part. The photos and line drawings in this volume are excellent and the text gives detailed history of each manufacturer's models and variations within models. What is missing is a value guide for the pens listed. I'm sure the most serious collectors find such information unnecesary, but I believe that newer or more casual collectors would find pricing benchmarks useful as they muddle through eBay and other auction sites.

For the novice and experienced collector both, this book is Andy's finest yet. By dividing out the US and UK manufacturers, this book provides even greater detail and scale images, as well as historical reference of vintage and modern pens from all of the significant pen makers of the last 100 years. The images (both photos and line images) are the best available to-date, and an invaluable reference to the serious collector.

Product Innovation Strategy, Pure and Simple: How Winning Companies Outpace Their Competitors
by Michel Robert
This book is now superceded by the author's 'STRATEGIC PRODUCT INNOVATION, PURE & SIMPLE: CREATING NEW-TO-THE-MARKET PRODUCTS THAT BREED COMPETITIVE SUPREMACY', although the intellectual contents remain intact as well as unchanged. The latter is apparently published by the author's own consulting company, Decision Processes International.
The principal theme of this book, just like that of the new book, is making innovation a learnable & repeatable disciplined business practice.
In this respect, the author has done a remarkable job.
If you're in a competitive business - read this book.......1997-03-02
When it comes to understanding and explaining why some companies develop and launch new products better than their competitors, Mike Robert has no equal. In preparing to help overhaul the strategic planning process at a major publishing firm, we read countless books on strategic planning before choosing Mike's "Strategy, Pure and Simple" as our guide. We couldn't have made a better choice. Mike's tell-it-like-it-is style and clearly defined process served as a guide through numerous planning sessions. Four years later, I find myself consulting for a major insurance and annuity provider who's seeking to establish a disciplined new product development process. The book we're using as our guide? Mike Robert's "Product Innovation Strategy, Pure and Simple". I wouldn't have it any other way. If you're considering improving your company's strategic planning and new product development processes, I highly recommend both of Mike Robert's recent works (unless, of course, you're competing with the company I'm currently working with.
Book Description
No one can deny the power and attraction of water features. And it's never been easier for gardeners to add the sparkle and serenity of water to their own landscapes. Garden centers and flower shows throughout North America provide both the tools and the inspiration; this book will give readers the know-how.
Projects range from simple to more advanced. Readers can choose among a classic wall-mounted fountaio spout, a traditional or contemporary cascade and garden pond, an authentic Japanese-style bamboo water pump, witty water sculptures, and more. With 16 projects in all, this book has something to offer all tastes, budgets, and abilities.
Each project is accompanied by clear, step-by-step photographs and easy-to-follow instructions, plus helpful tips and techniques. Also included is a list of tools and materials. Whether readers imagine a container bog garden, a romantic millstone fountain, or a cascade, this book will help them make it a reality.

Great Ideas!.......2006-07-21
This book has some good information, great design ideas,
and beautiful pictures. My pond is up and running, and
the fishies and frogs and water lillies are VERY Happy.
A Very Helpful Aid .......2004-11-25
For anyone wanting to learn how to add water to their yard, this is the book to get. I loved it because the projects are easy to follow and there aren't any steps that you will not be able to do.
The information at the front of the book lays out a good foundation for the projects that you will find throughout the book. From everything such as designing, planning and the tools you will need, to maintenance and the many projects; this book will lead the path to having the calming effect of water in your yard.
The illustrations and photography just add to how helpful and very informative this book really is. This book would make a great gift for any gardener.
Ho hum.......2003-08-06
This a basic slim book that does just what the writers promise. They show the novice gardener how to make 16 water features. There are assorted fountains, including a romantic fountain, bell fountain, perpetual water tap, a cascade and a glass waterfall. There is a still pond, a wall waterspout a cascade and a natural pond. It's fairly standard stuff but there are, after all, only so many ways to present simple how-to-do-it water feature information.
There are useful sections on tools, materials and pumps, and you'll find plenty of illustrations, including cross-sections of the construction project.
There is no bibliography, just a reading list that is really tacky because it only lists other books published by the same publisher. Unless you're new to gardening I'd stay away from books published by Storey. There is nothing basically wrong with them, but they lack the depth, originality and insight that the more experienced gardener generally seeks.
Your Garden Will Be Alive - With the Sound of Water.......2001-05-17
Do you like the refreshing sound of lemonade trickling into a glass, only you wish it would last longer? The relaxing sound of running water is refreshing and also attracts wildlife. This book has 16 projects you can build, most quite easily, with simple, readily available materials that will add sound and visual interest to your yard.
The book has information about tools, materials and plants, well illustrated with photographs and watercolor drawings. There are even maintenance tips. Some of the projects are as small as container fountains and some as large as ponds. They even discuss "bog gardening." Most of the designs fall in the small to medium size range.
Among the more interesting projects is a "Japanese Deer Scarer" which is an animated bamboo fixture that beats on a rock while dumping water. Also unique is a "Wine Bottle Spray Fountain." (We are avidly gathering the materials for this one as I write.) There are several that utilize sheet copper parts and one made from glass bricks.
There are lots of good tips on design that you can use for your own variations. If you are only going to buy one book on outdoor water features, get this one. It is sure to be an inspiration for your next weekend "water" project.

Book Description
By bringing what H. Marc Cathey, president of the American Horticultural Society, has called "a new wave of naturalism" to America, James van Sweden and his partner, Wolfgang Oehme, have revolutionized American landscape design. Van Sweden and Oehme are internationally renowned for their public projects and private commissions: responsible for the Hudson River Park in New York City and several gardens of the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., they have landscaped the properties of celebrity clients such as Oprah Winfrey and David Brinkley, as well as many more modest gardens for private homeowners.
According to van Sweden, no garden is too small to benefit from the soothing, sensuous qualities of water. Gardening with Water, the first in a new series of books to be written by van Sweden, covers everything from birdbaths and small fountains to waterfalls, swimming pools, lily pools, and water edges. Writing for professional and nonprofessional gardeners alike, van Sweden begins with an overview of influences -- from Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water" to palace gardens in Kyoto, Japan -- before surveying close to a hundred of his own projects to illustrate how he and Wolfgang Oehme introduce water into their garden designs. Several chapters are devoted to practical questions: what to plant, where to plant, whom to contact, and how to build. Clear instructions are supplemented with numerous illustrations, extensive diagrams, and a detailed glossary of trees, plants, and flowers (including Oehme and van Sweden's trademark grasses).

Book Description
Finally, the exciting and long-awaited sequel to one of the biggest health and healing bestsellers of all time has arrived.
When Peter Kelder's
Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth was released by Harbor Press in 1985, it immediately touched off an incredible sales phenomenon rivaled only by
The Celestine Prophecy and
Conversations with God. In this book, readers were introduced to the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation, a series of exercises developed over centuries in the monasteries of Tibet and credited by thousands for everything from increased energy to better memory, weight loss, and just looking and feeling younger.
Almost as quickly as the books filtered across the globe, letters began to pour in to Harbor Press requesting more information on these mysterious rites. Now, more than ten years and two million books later, comes a comprehensive companion volume that addresses the unanswered questions of so many readers.
Picking up where Kelder's book left off,
Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth, Book 2 provides the complete Fountain of Youth health program, with detailed information on a variety of topics discussed only fleetingly in the original bestseller: the history and origins of the Five Rites, valuable insights about how the Rites work, diet suggestions, and easy-to-follow exercises. Illustrated with fifty black-and-white photographs, this guide will help turn back the hands of time, invigorating and energizing readers' lives as never before.

WONDERFUL MUST HAVE!!!.......2007-09-18
I got the book and I've been doing it for a week feel great sleep deep and have lots of energy buying 10 for my whole family for christmas A MUST HAVE!!!!
A complete package for health.......2007-09-10
Although I haven't as of yet begun the exercises, since I just finished the book, I am looking forward to them. The book gives me hope that I can reduce some, if not all, of the pain and fatigue that I feel. I am already familiar with eating combined; I wholeheartedly agree with the book that it relieves heartburn and helps with weight loss. I feel it's a complete package for health, and I can't wait to get started on the exercises.
Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth Book 2.......2007-07-27
This book is a must for health lovers and people who want to take action in caring for themselves. Together with Book 1, the comments from various specialists help round out the picture of "whole health" steps and actions that is missing from many health regimes nowadays.
A good supplement to Book 1, but not absolutely necessary to everybody........2007-06-27
This book was written fairly recently and it is exactly what is says: a companion to book 1. It has today's perspetive of specialists on the rites and teaching of Colonel Bradford, but it is not necessary. But if you have serious difficulty executing certain of the rites in Book 1, this one will give you some easier alternatives -which of course were not in the original teachings- but might be beneficial as well. Since I am performing the original rites I have no reason to replace them with any other exercises. But overall, this is also a good book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and learning some more info on nutrition.
Good read.......2007-05-12
This book was recommended to me at a woman's retreat. When reading it I thought, Yea Sure! and Pigs fly too! But they were good exercises so I decided to do them. After Two weeks or so I started to see a change in my body and I felt good. I don't know if i'm getting young but I see enough results to keep doing them everyday.

Customer Reviews:
Shocking.......2007-09-19
I did not think that I would enjoy this book because of Annabelle's former occupation but I ended up loving it. Annabelle and Matthew's conversations with one other on the trail were so funny! The way they rescued Sadie was absolutely wonderful! Hearing how Annabelle and Sadie began their life of prostitution was heartbreaking, drawing the reader closer to the characters. This is a wonderful book and I recommend it highly!
Extremely changed lives....is it possible?.......2007-09-18
When a prostitute is bought out of a brothel and marries a man she does not really love, the reader wants to dislike her right away. Soon enough, Annabella was my hero, even with her jaded past. A tragedy, and we met her as a pregnant widow. Matthew Taylor needs a job, so he applied as trail guide for Annabelle's trip to Idaho and the land her deceased husband loved.
To say these two literally despised each other would not be stretching the truth, both had deep, dark secrets and both had reasons not to trust the other. However, Matthew got the job and much of this book is about the long, 900 mile journey, searching for tiny little Sadie, a 15 yr. old prostitute, nearly losing their lives in the process. Why was Matthew so edgy and seemed to look over his shoulder a lot? The wanted posters told Annabelle some of the reasons--- she was traveling with a criminal.
This book deals with many issues, prostitution in the early settlements of the West, the dangers of whiskey, gambling and women all thrown together and the struggle to forgive oneself even after God has shown complete forgiveness.
Traveling by wagon was not easy, especially when two people who disliked and distrusted each other were alone for three months and there were inate dangers as well as physical and environmental ones. Personally, for me, I related completely to the subtle description of dementia of a very elderly, mean relative.
I have already begun my search for book three by this author. Where did she come from and how did she get to be such a sucess so quickly? Books one and two only slightly overlap with towns and people and book three has a huge reputation to live up to. Thanks for the Christian, historical fiction book that shows the power of change when asked of God.
Revealing a series and author worth reading. . ........2007-08-01
The second book in the trilogy "Fountain Creek Chronicles" Revealed captured my attention within the first few pages. This is Tamera Alexander first series, and a great introduction to a wonderful new author.
The story follows Annabelle Grayson, a woman whose husband had accepted her past and loved her in spite of it. Upon his death, she is left alone to fight the bitter memories of a previous life she can't change.
Haunted by angry words said to a brother now gone, Matthew Taylor struggles to find his way. Wrong choices catching up with him, he'd do anything to leave it all behind.
Two people needing to accept God's unconditional love, and each others' shadowed lives.
With the people of Willow Creek knowing her past, Annabelle Grayson McCutchens is desperate to leave and start fresh. But she needs to find a guide to take her to her late husband's land. Matthew Taylor's contempt for his late brother's wife is unmasked, but he needs the job.
Two unlikely people, with God's loving mercy, embark on a journey of the heart.
Can Annabelle show Matthew that the person she has become is not the person she was? Can Matthew understand his late brother's acceptance for a scarlet woman and discover the reasons he'd loved her, for himself?
Tamera Alexander weaves a beautiful story of God's abounding love and forgiveness. Her characters come to life as each page turns. This story is an uplifting tale of forgiveness, acceptance and God's power to change people.
Once engrossed in the characters I couldn't put it down, I was wrapped in the story until the final page. I am very eager to read more of Ms. Alexander's work.
Endearing Story of Enduring Love and Grace.......2007-04-17
Revealed
By: Tamera Alexander
Covered wagons and western skies, damsels in distress and bounty hunters, all make dreams of days gone by. If you love traveling back to that era, this book is for you.
. . .Annabelle Grayson McCutchens was rescued from her shameful past by a godly man who offered her unconditional love. When Jonathon McCutchens died, she had only one goal. She would travel from Colorado to his ranch in Idaho and birth and raise his child there.
Matthew Taylor was a man with a conflicted heart. He loved and served Jesus Christ. But, after a perceived betrayal by his best friend, ran from his faith, his home, his life.
He knew Annabelle's past and placed judgment upon her. But he needed to get to Idaho and she had the money to pay him to escort her there. His heart burned with the desire to pay off the bounty hunter and to punish her for what she'd done.
When their pasts collide with the present, they must each decide if forgiveness is the road to follow. And as the wagon travels towards Idaho, will faith and love fill their hearts enough for grace to push the past out? . . .
Tamera Alexander has done it again. Book two in the Fountain Creek Series takes you on a journey of love and forgiveness with Annabelle and Matthew. Get a quilt, a comfortable chair and curl up for a great read. You will love it out west and won't be ready to come back to this century.
Captivating and beautifully written.......2007-03-26
This book was fabulous!! I was riveted from page one and I didn't put it down till I had finished it. I read the entire thing on a six-hour car ride. The characters were so real; they all had flaws and secrets. And the relationship between Annabelle and Matthew was developed beautifully. Though they started out butting heads and almost hating each other due to past experiences, they each came to terms, growing individually and then developing a solid foundation for not only friendship, but also for an angsty and subtle romance. It was obvious that these were God-fearing people, but I was a pleasantly surprised to read something a little different than the Christian fiction norm. It was more a change of heart, a change of perspective, forgiveneses and acceptance rather than the typical conversion that we read so often.
My only advice would be to read the previous book "Rekindled" first. I didn't realize this was the second book in a series, so I didn't understand alot of things. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE PREVIOUS BOOK FIRST. I have yet to read it, but it's on my desk at home waiting for me. And the next book in the series, "Remembered" will be released soon, and I can't wait to read that one as well. I'm so impressed with this debut author and what she has to offer her readers. Her writing style is sharp and descriptive, but not too flowery or over the top. Alexander has the skill and ability to pull you into the book so you see every scene and feel every emotion. Everything about this book flowed and fit just right. This is a five star book for anyone who likes historical fiction and Christian romances all wrapped up in one amazing package.
