Book Description
The controversial, bestselling book (37,500 hardcover copies sold) that helps define the debate about one of the most important and hotly contested issues facing America: immigration.
Customer Reviews:
A fascinating look at American immigration policy.......2007-01-15
Peter Brimelow's "Alien Nation," despite its reputation to the contrary, is an intensely scholarly book, a fact that reveals itself just a chapter or two in. Loaded with charts and end notes, there are few statements he is unable to document, making this a very worthwhile purchase for those interested in defending the cause of immigration control (as I am).
Brimelow opens with a lengthy introduction describing his own roots as a British immigrant. He quickly dispatches some of the more pedestrian one-liners trotted out by immigration enthusiasts, from simple (and intellectually cheap) allegations of racism to historically inaccurate paeans to American history. With the philosophical piffle out of the way, he goes on at length about the history of American immigration policy; of particular interest is the bit describing the passage of the 1965 Immigration Act, which gave us our present immigration levels, particularly Senator Ted Kennedy's proclamation that the bill would not result in a million or more immigrants flooding American cities every year (more than a million do today, and Brimelow reports briefly on the mendacity and evasiveness of Kennedy's designated immigration aide when questioned about this fact; he also documents how Bobby Kennedy, one of the bill's chief supporters, fell to the bullet of an immigrant who benefitted directly from it).
Brimelow proceeds to dismantle, chapter by chapter, many of the illusions surrounding current immigration policy, addressing its demonstrable consequences on American economics, politics, culture, environment, and social cohesion.
Despite the heavy academic value of the book, Brimelow writes with sufficient sing-song mockery of the open borders lobby, whose weasly self-interested justifications he obviously takes great pleasure in disarming, to make it an interesting read. Some of the early chapters seem to drag on a bit, but once you get rolling, it's hard to put down.
This is a virtual must-read for all people with a stake in the grassroots immigration control movement.
Mostly good. All food for thought.......2006-11-12
I find it interesting that those reviling the book pretty much say "he's a racist bigot" and think that is a response to the ideas raised. I find little or no analysis of what Mr. Brimelow actually says in those rants. Just one example is a series of commments along the lines of "America is a nation of immigrants and has done just fine -- anyone opposed to further immigration is a (fill in the blank) [racist, hypocrite, etc.]"
Brimelow actually goes to great lengths to discuss this issue;
1. ALL nations are nations of immigrants, it's just that their immigration was quite gradual. Even the US (until recently) had a more gradual immigration pattern with periods of time between waves for assimilation.
2. There is currently no "resting period" for the new immigrants to assimilate.
3. There is now an active movement OPPOSED to assimilation (the cultural diversity folks).
4. This lack of assimilation is encouraged by the movement for bilingual education.
(He gives a sadly amusing story of the child of an acquaintance being pushed into classes taught in Spanish (New York City school system) because his first name was "Pablo." This despite the fact that neither he nor his parents spoke Spanish. This little factlet (his not being a Spanish speaker) was something that had not occured to those who in their zeal for multiculturalism were practicing an interesting form of racism.)
5. He then discusses the problems that arise from a failure to assimilate and the political and economic fallout of such.
This idea is further explored in Brimelow's discussion of the difference between "state," "nation," "polity," and other similar terms.
Brimelow discusses many areas of concern: social, political, economic, and cultural -- and many issues within each. For the most part I found his reasoning thoughtful and well-considered. I found particularly noteworthy his discussion of some of the commonly touted (and extremely positive) statistics on immigrant's economic contributions to the U.S. and how those measures are grievously skewed by the way the data is gathered and defined. He gives a detailed cost/benefit analysis of current immigration patterns and comes to very different conclusions.
While I did not agree with all this book says, I found much of it food for thought. Those disagreeing need to do more than name calling. Perhaps actually reading the book would be a good place to start.
Lessons not learned.......2006-04-18
Ten years ago, the paperback edition of "Alien Nation" came out in print. While some of the numbers may be off (the number of illegals doubled from than of 1996) the basic message remains. The Federal government has no interest in protecting the original character of the United States - namely, as a European republic. It has and continued to act against the interests of the race that that carved out a civilization superseding previous European civilizations. Peter Brimelow's book deserves a second reading, particularly in the midst of the current (one-sided) immigration debate that Congress desperately wants to avoid.
There are the myopic many that love tacos, curry and Thai noodles -- the raging cheerleaders of the "open borders" gang. However, they immediately shut up when the sieve that is our current immigration policy allows Middle Easterners to bomb or crash planes into our buildings. They turn a deaf ear to the fact that greedy businesses hire illegals at firesale wages and boost their own profits. Indeed, the strident open border crowd hasn't said anything about the recent massive demonstrations by Mexican flag waving illegal mestizos and non-white Hispanics -- other than "let them all in!". Senators Kennedy's and Javitz's pronouncement of 1965 was proven wrong: America's has dramatically changed and for the worse. The "Irish beer" swilling, taco eating Americans have learned nothing.
For those that protest too much.......2006-02-27
This is my favorite book to stir the blood to the point of boiling. It gets to the heart of the matter. Many facts about laws and policy. You begin to think your a stranger in a strange land, just short of Alice In Wonderland. And as Daffy Duck would say," Its dissspicccabbllle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IGNORANT AND NARROW MINDED IDEOLOGY FOR THE ENLIGHTENED BIGOTS EVERYWHERE!!.......2006-01-08
IN THIS ERA OF GLOBALIZATION WHERE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RULES THE WORLD. DOES AMERICA GET THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST MINDS. YES, THROUGH LEGAL IMMIGRATION IT DOES AND IS TREMENDOUSLY BENEFEITED.ARE THERE MASSIVE PROBLEMS DUE TO ILLIGAL IMMIGRATION. YES, AND IT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED. DOES THIS MEAN ALL IMMIGRATION SHOULD BE STOPPED? AMERICAN COLLEGES,COMPANIES,SOCIETY AND IN THE END THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WILL SUFFER DUE TO MEDIOCRE PEOPLE INSTEAD OF THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST. EINSTEIN WAS AN IMMIGRANT 60 YEARS BACK. SO WAS THE FOUNDER OF HOTMAIL FROM INDIA. SHOULD PEOPLE LIKE THAT SHOULD BE RESTRICED SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE NON-WHITE AND NON CHRISTIAN? WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE BELOW AVERAGE ENGINEERS,DOCTORS,MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AS LONG THEY ARE NATIVE-BORN AND WHITE? WHAT HAPPENED TO A JOB GOING TO THE BEST PEOPLE INSTEAD OF POLITICAL APPEASING TO THE NATIVE ELEMENTS. THIS EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED 100 YEARS BACKS WITH A STRONG BACKLASH AGAINST THE IRISH AND ITALIANS. WHO WERE FOR THE MOST PART POOR AND UNEDUCATED AND COMPETING WITH THE NATIVES. THEY WERE ALSO DEMONIZED AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST.WE ALL CAN FORM ALL OWN CONCLUSIONS AND CONFRONT THE INNATE XENOPHOBIA,BIGOTORY AND UNDERLYING BIAS IN A POST 9-11 WORLD REGARDING THESE MATTERS OR CANNOT WE?

Customer Reviews:
No Need for Tenchi . . . Seriously.......2007-05-07
The latest entry in the Tenchi Muyo! franchise, Hitoshi Okuda's manga series continues the adventures of half-alien high schooler Tenchi Masaki and his all-alien, all-female entourage. All your favorite space gals are here: space pirate Ryoko, Juraian princesses Ayeka and Sasami, mad scientist Washu, ditzy space cop Mihoshi, and fuzzy cabbit (cat/rabbit hybrid) Ryo-oh-ki (Sorry, Kiyone fans!). While Tenchi Muyo! fans can expect more out-of-this-world action/comedy goodness, Alien Nation provides enough background info for newcomers to jump in.
In fact, almost every chapter of this first volume focuses on each of Tenchi's roommates. But first, a rich girl tries to expose the gang in order to have Tenchi to herself. Then, freeloader Ryoko goes job-hunting to pull her own weight. Ayeka gets a chance to go on a date with Tenchi. A major bakery chain wants Sasami's delicious carrot cake. Mihoshi crashes her spacecraft in the lake (again). Washu beefs up security in the Masaki household following a break-in. Finally, little Ryo-oh-ki tries to adjust to a sexier adult form to be able to go out with Tenchi.
Speaking of which, where's Tenchi in all this? Ms. Okuda tells the reader not to call Tenchi a minor character. Ah, but he is (at least in this volume). When our hero isn't farming or agonizing over the repeated destruction of his house, he's offered as a prize in contests where he dates the winner (whether he wants to or not). Fortunately, this manga's seems entertaining enough while giving the poor guy a break.
So it seems that this franchise has chalked up yet another victory for the home team. Pick up this manga and you'll see why the Tenchi juggernaut cannot be stopped!
This manga is rated T for Teen: Violence
Ryoko's job .......2006-01-11
The All-New Tenchi Muyo is a great way to introduce the characters! First, there's Tenchi Masaki, the earth-boy that's half-alien. Ryoko, former pirate. Ayeka, the prim princess of Jurai and her little sister, Sasami. Washu, the 20,000-year-old genius. Ryo-oh-ki, the 'cabbit' which has a love for carrots. The fun never ends when all these women vie for Tenchi's love. The high point of Alien Nation is when Ryoko goes to work at a fast-food place and blows it up.
The best manga series!!!!!.......2005-12-14
In this manga it has many different characters that are supposed to be aliens. Washu has created some of the characters like ryoko(?) There is Sasami the youngest that takes care of house work and there is Washu, Tenchi, Ayeka( sasami's older sister), and more. in all READ IT THIS MANGA SERIES ROCKS ^^
The all new tenchi muyo.......2004-08-18
hi my anme is nick i'm 11 and have recently gotten into manga i have aonly read bout 7 so far and I'm already obsessed I plan to continue reading them. This is the 4th manga i had read it was good with many entertaining elements such as action, romance and alot of witty humor displayed by lighthearted characters a very good solid start to the series I plan to purchase volume 2 shortly.
Great First Installment of the New Series!.......2004-06-01
"Alien Nation" is the first book of the "All New Tenchi Muyo Series" - and it's a great way to start off. Each character is explained quite thoroughly meaning new readers can enjoy this one too.
This includes several mini-stories: one about Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Mihoshi, Washu and Ryo-Oki, in other words - everyone except Tenchi!
This book is rated "Teen" reading, as with all the other Tenchi books, however the content seems milder than maybe some of the other content in later volumes.
This contains several mild swear words (the "c" one) and one use of the moderate swear world (the long "b" one) and quite a bit of graphic violence.
I think giving this to Middle School Children (11 and over) would be a safe bet. Anyone under 9, parents may want to review the content. I think with this volume, 9 and up is the age rating. However harsher ratings I'd give to maybe some future volumes.
This book is great, however until Book 2, no real plot is introduced. This is mainly a book with mini-stories to get used to the personality of the characters. If you have seen Tenchi Muyo OVA/Tenchi Universe - you don't HAVE to get this book.
Readability: High for new readers, moderate for familiar readers
Rating: 10 and over - contains swearing and graphic violence

Customer Reviews:
It's my favorite of all the Alien Nation's Books.......1998-10-07
What I liked best is that there was never any time when reading this book that I was board. It kept me reading until I finished it. ( 3 AM THAT IS!!! )
What is really fun about reading the Alien Nations books is that you can actually picture George and Matt doing these things. The authors have a good grasp on the characters throughout the entire series.
Very well done novel........1998-08-27
This book is spot on with the characters. I loved the names that the authors used for the Newcomer characters.
The book keeps you moving and wanting to read _just_ one more chapter.
If you liked this one, go for the L.A. Graf Trek novels.
Book Description
On July 31, 1991, the final episode of Alien Nation, "Green Eyes" aired, ending the series with a blockbuster finale and an exciting cliffhanger. In "Green Eyes" the Newcomers were faced with a deadly new bacteria created by a ruthless group of humans called Purists, who were determined to rid the Earth of the alien Tenctonese. As the story closed, all of the Alien Nation characters were in crisis, and the Francisco family was infected with the bacteria, facing certain death. This story was never resolved...until now. "Dark Horizon" was a two-hour Alien Nation script commissioned by Twentieth Century Fox. The story would have resolved the cliffhanger and kicked off Alien Nation's second seacon. With the final cancellation of the series, the script was put away and fans were left with their questions unanswered. Pocket Books is now proud to present a novelization by critically acclaimed science fiction author K.W. Jeter, of the entire action-packed story that began with "Green Eyes" and ended with "Dark Horizon." As the story opens, George Francisco and Matthew Sikes stand watch over George's family, while the Earth faces a new threat. A ruthless Overseer has come from space to recover the Tenctonese slaves, and he will stop at nothing to see that the Newcomers-- as well as the entire human race-- are enslaved forever.

Closure.......2007-06-08
This was amazingly well written for a media tie-in novel. I bought the series and hadn't seen the movies since they first aired. I was glad to happen upon this book to once again resolve the cliffhanger ending from "Green Eyes".
Great book!.......2007-06-01
I'm so glad this book was written as it resolved the cliffhangers, even the ones that weren't touched in the eventual movie that was made.
Better than the movie.......2001-08-13
This was one of the more interesting books, since I saw the movie before I knew the book existed. I felt that it was much better, things were detailed more and it really got into the characters. I think it even resolved the part in the cliffhanger episode with Buck and his teacher. I haven't read it in a while so I'm not positive. Anyway, it's definately worth buying.
Great continuation for a sad end to the series.......2001-01-03
This book finally shows us the conclusion to the last episode of the TV series. Unfortunatly, the TV series left us hanging with it's last show. What happened to George's family after they inhaled the poison? That was the question left on the fans minds at the end of the series? Why was the show ended, and the last story never resolved? Although we may never know the true answer to the second question, we can now find out the answer to the first. This book gives us a detailed account of the last episode, AND the conclusion we all wanted. Even though we eventually saw the episode, and a few new movies, this book is in my opinion superior to the movie. If you can find a copy of this book, or any of the others, grab it! You will not be sorry.

Book Description
Blurring the conventional distinction between modern dance and ballet, African American dance, gymnastics and dancing as popular entertainment, Alien Bodies looks at the way the dance of the 1920s and 1930s mediated the experience of modernity. Through an examination of work by key dancers and choreographers including Josephine Baker, Jean Borlin, George Balanchine, Katherine Dunham, Martha Graham, and Doris Humphrey, Alien Bodies shows that during the jazz age dance became a privileged site for defining the lived experiences of modernity and contributed to the creation of new desires and identities.

Take a big juicy bite out of Alien Bodies.......2000-10-26
Ramsey Burt incorporates so much in this book that it can be overwhelming but I suggest grabbing onto what you think is the good stuff and delve into it. He combines the historical, anthropological and political happenings of the 1920s and 30s with dance so well that it's hard to image thinking of any of them as separate, in any part. I would suggest this book to any student of the dance that has had some 20th century dance history background,so that you can concentrate on the theory and discourse presented in the book.
potentially useful introduction to dance/modernism studies.......2000-03-09
The value of Burt's book lies in its wide-ranging scope: taking the issue of how early modern dance and the experience(s) of modernity articulated each other in early 20th century Europe and America, Burt focuses upon pressing questions of sexuality, identity, class, consumer culture, and so forth. Chapters on Josephine Baker and "primitivist" discourses of the body, as well as rationalism, mass production and the chorus line are engaging, if also open to debate. In this sense, the volume provides a good introduction to the "new critical studies" of dance, an approach which is informed by recent developments in cultural studies. However, the book is also marred by a number of factual errors (example: Burt incorrectly claims that "In 1922, [...] Le Corbusier and Jeanneret exhibited designs for La Ville Contemporaine"--unaware that Jeanneret and Le Corbusier are in fact the same person, and that the team consisted of Le Corbusier and Ozenfant) as well as editorial gaffes: names are mispelled, articles cited incorrectly. These mistakes are not simply slips or failures to catch typos, but rather reflect the book's main weakness, which is that it at once too wide-ranging and almost exclusively dependent upon secondary sources, which suggests to me that Burt's expertise does not lie in historical research, but rather in broad synthesis. As such, the book provides a useful introduction to a number of different phenomena in early modern dance, and offers some ways of approaching dance through the lens of critical studies of culture, but its arguments remain open to challenge and revision.
Book Description
This is the original edition of Daniel Sheehy influential work. Fighting Immigration Anarchy now has an updated version published in 2006 by Rooftop Publishing (ISBN 1-60008-002-2.)
A groundswell has been steadily building in America among citizens who are fed up with seeing our country overrun by millions of illegal aliens foreign invaders who defy our laws, disrespect our culture, and refuse to learn our language. These citizens became activists when they saw that, if America is to survive as a nation and culture, her people will have to save her, because an out-of-touch Washington establishment has grown too corrupt to defend the land and Constitution that hundreds of thousands of Americans have died to preserve. This book tells the stories of some of those patriots. Fighting Immigration Anarchy focuses on the struggles of six citizen activists to wake up their fellow Americans to the encroaching danger. And through the individual stories, readers learn about the recent history of illegal immigration in America the political victories and defeats as citizens awoke and fought back against the open-borders juggernaut. Like the patriots of the American Revolution, today's citizen activists refuse to cower before powerful foreign tyrants like those in Mexico City demanding America accept their surplus people. Modern patriots also confront domestic business interests grown addicted to exploitable foreigners now doing formerly American jobs at near-slave wages. The patriots chosen for this book are as varied as America, yet all underwent personal transformations when they saw the nation's peril. All put individual concerns aside to make saving the country their top priority. Among the patriots are: An auto mechanic from South Central Los Angeles who remade himself into a powerful talk radio host and public speaker to tell the story of the black community as America's canary in the immigration coal mine. A pioneer environmental reporter who concluded that true conservation required that the immigration-fueled population explosion be controlled and built a Washington organization to harness grassroots activism. A freshman Congressman from Colorado who founded the Immigration Reform Caucus and became the nation's spokesman for border security after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This book is a warning for all Americans of the chaos spreading rapidly from the southwestern border zone to every corner of the nation. In its wake have come massive job displacement for American workers, increased crime, schools overwhelmed by non-English-speaking students, and bankrupt hospitals. And these newcomers have not come to join the American community through assimilation, as did legal immigrants in the past, demanding instead that we change our culture to fit them. But the heroic citizen activists chronicled in Fighting Immigration Anarchy show that, although the hour is late, there will be no surrender to the forces of corporate globalism, utopian multiculturalism, or Mexico City. Not only is the book a modern Profiles in Courage, it also shows grassroots Americans successfully making a critical difference.
Customer Reviews:
Wide Awake Now!!!.......2006-08-11
After reading Fighting Immigration Anarchy, I could not sleep for three nights. I kept thinking about all that I had learned from Daniel Sheehy's book about what is truly going on in my own backyard and in the rest of America. The book tells what the our government and the mainstream media won't tell you about the seriousness of the illegal immigration crisis and how we are rapidly losing our country and quality of life. The book isn't just about what is wrong with our government's virtual open borders policy. The book mostly focuses on American citizen-activists of different races and ethnicities who have made a difference in the fight to preserve our borders and sovereignty. I have been truly inspired by these stories- and I plan to get involved myself. This book has caused me to wake up and take notice! I'm buying several more copies to give to my friends.
OK - but not the whole truth.......2006-03-11
This book really gives you important facts about the threat of millions of illegal immigrants in this county. But I think the book should also talk about legal immigration. I am an immigrant from Germany and my goal was to become an American and leave everything else behind. I promised to never rely on any welfare and in all the past decades I never have. There are rarely people who recognize that I wasn't born here.
A VERY FACTUAL AND TIMELY BOOK EXPOSING THE INACTION BY PRESIDENT BUSH IN SECURING OUR BORDERS BY DR. NORMAN WITT (Ed.D.).......2005-12-05
Daniel Sheehy has done an outstanding public service by exposing
the Bush Administration's determination to keep the Mexican border open thus allowing illegal immigrants and terrorists to
enter the U. S. borders. The Bush rhetoric is old and worn as
Bush shows more loyaly to Vicente Fox than he does to the U.S. citizens. Californians Barbara Coe, Glen Spencer and other California voters began taking action in 1994 to get, what became Proposition 187, on the ballot to stop illegal immigration and the resultant burden on taxpayers, schools,
hospitals and jails. Even though approved by the voters, former Governor Gray Davis and former Mexican president Ernesto Zedillo and others prevented it from becoming a law. Nothing
could be more basic to National security than closing our borders to unidentified people. Homeland security has been a joke because of irrational priorities and inconsistencies by the
Bush administration and now open borders. I am a former airline pilot and know many pilots who believe uninspected cargo is a great threat to airline passengers and crew and the ease with which an airplane can be shot down with a shoulder
fired missile. As a Naval Aviation veteran of WWII, a USAFR
retired Major and pilot veteran of the Korean, I believe our country is in great risk because of our weakened position by using our Reservists and National Guard to fight battles in far off Iraq when our troops should be guarding the borders here. My grandson is a U. S. Marine in Iraq fighting "insurgents", while illegal aliens come across our borders at the rate of over 10,000 per day--isn't it ironical? Daniel Sheehy is a fearless patriot, who has exposed what I believe is a national disgrace and which should be the concern of everyone.
Dr. Norman E. Witt (Ed.D.) UCLA--Class of 1969.
Public Patriots and Unknown Patriots in the Battle.......2005-10-24
Mr. Sheehy's book presents current and continuing events about public patriots as well as unknown patriots - those who attend rallies, write to newspapers, call radio talk programs, join Roy Beck's fax writers to Congress, and in many other ways inform the public about the illegal alien invasion of the United States.
Any person who believes these folks are nativist or bigots just by the title should read the book to learn about the threat to U.S. national sovereignty.
It's an easy read about the histories and daily activities of those featured in the chapters and their supporters. Every member of the U.S. Congress and Senate should be locked up in some hotel and not released until they finish reading this book. That goes for state legislatures as well.

Book Description
The Change is one of a small number of scripts developed by the producers and staff of Alien Nation-- scripts never televised because of the show's early demise. A piece of history for Alien Nation fans, the Change provides an incredible glimpse at an Alien Nation story that never was. Critically acclaimed science fiction novelist Barry B. Longyear brings to life an exciting story in which Newcomer police detective George Francisco undergoes a startling metamorphosis that will either mean his death or the beginning of a new life. In the midst of this time of change, George must also face a vicious, unstoppable killer from his past who has sworn a deadly revenge on George and everyone he cares for...
Customer Reviews:
Did this author even watch the show?.......2007-06-24
For a novel that was written based on an extant script, it makes me wonder if this author had ever seen the show, or the original feature film, since he obviously couldn't get everything out of the directions in the script.
The story itself is a good idea that would have made a great episode. The other reviewers have pointed out how George's given name has been changed and language patterns. Also, there felt like there was a lot of missing action that had to be dropped in order to keep the book below a certain word count. All you have to do is read the last chapter and wonder just how on earth that concluding scene in the hospital went off so quickly. It would have been better written by someone who was more familiar with the Alien Nation universe and the fanbase.
Would have been better written by someone else.......2007-06-01
I have no clue where Longyear got off changing George's name from Stangya to "Nicto". He obviously didn't do enough research in writing this book. The dialogue is off and you really can't imagine the characters saying things that Longyear had them say. Longyear did a discredit to Alien Nation fans with this book.
Could have been better.......2001-08-13
The idea of this book is very good, however the auther changed a lot of material that never should change (like George's Tenctonese name) For the longest time I didn't know who they were talking about. It was a good story overall, but common alien nation themes like George's tenctonese name being Stangya, should never be changed. Other than that it was a good book.

Meanwhile, George Francisco is drawn into a Newcomer cult headed by a mysterious messianic figure. Obsessed with the cult, George quits the police force to devote all his time to his new religion. Now with his partner gone, Sikes must defend his newborn baby from a hostile band of criminals determined to destroy anyone who's different-- even an innocent child.

This is an excellent book that fits into the saga well. Very touching in places, outraging in others. Definately a good read.

Book Description
Alien Nation was a ground-breaking and thought-provoking televison program that was part science fiction and part hard-hitting police drama-- taking on tough social issues. Despite raves from critics as well as a loyal following, Alien Nation was canceled, but not before additional scripts were created. Now, Pocket Books is proud to present the novelization of one of these never-before-seen scripts. Matthew Sikes and his Tenctonese partner George Francisco try to unearth the truth behind the hysteria generated by the reports of the birth of the first half-human, half-Tenctonese child. Meanwhile, Sikes and his Tencotnese friend Cathy find their relationship heating up and realize they can no longer deny their feelings. They quickly learn just how dangerous human-Tenctonese love can be, and how far it can go...

Great for those who want to follow up on their favorite characters.......2007-06-10
This is a well written continuation of the Alien Nation universe. As someone who enjoyed the program a great deal, this was a great way to keep going with the thought provoking meeting of the worlds.
Great book from a great author!.......2007-06-01
Peter David is a great author. I know his work from Star Trek. This book was wonderfully written. Like another poster, I also found it better that the child was a "child" rather than an infant, but that was a minor detail. Since I saw the movie first, reading the book only enhanced the book's detail for me.
Excellent book!!!.......2001-05-16
This was another great alien nation book, any fan of the show and movies will love it. The book is also a movie, but is much better. Some things were changed but it only made the book better. The only thing I didn't like was that the child twin in the movie, is an infant in the book, but it really doesn't matter. This book, like the two before it, let you see more into the characters than the short lived series was able too. I don't think they will ever make new shows, but the alien nation books are a great way to continue the series. For a fan of the show, its better than nothing. I only wish I'd known these books existed sooner. This book is a little hard to find, but well worth the search.
it was the best book I've ever read........1998-08-04
