Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

The 2 Paths: Nirvana or Bodhisattva.......2007-04-20

This book was first published 1889 by H. P. Blavatsky (1831-1891). As stated it contains chosen fragments formulated so as to become a daily meditation book. A small book comprising 97 pages, 72 pages for the main body of the book and the remaining 25 pages being for the glossary. But for the eastern terminologies, this is an easy book to read and can be quickly read. This book is available as a PDF download via Google.

Essentially this book deals with the two paths that one can choose to take on the path to higher spirituality, the path of Nirvana or the path of the Bodhisattva I.e. returning to help a suffering humanity, the latter being the superior of the two.

I personally would recommend the movie 'The circle of iron', a martial arts/spiritual film by Bruce Lee. This movie reveals the path of the initiate and the choice to be made regarding Nirvana or the Bodhisattva path. Just a small tid bit, there are many levels beyond both these paths and the path of Nirvana is a downward spiral that draws on ones dharma; better to take the Bodhisattva/Christic path of sacrifice, depending if one is able.

To that which spoke to me:

"The "Soundless Voice," or the "Voice of the Silence." Literally perhaps this would read "Voice in the Spiritual Sound," as Nada is the equivalent word in Sanskrit, for the Sen-sar term." Pg 73

"Tanha - "the will to live," the fear of death and the love for life, that force or energy which causes the rebirths." Pg 78

and to the study of the ego:

"Deva Egos" (The reincarnating ego) pg 29 which pointed the way to the book 'THE CAUSAL BODY AND THE EGO' by Arthur E. Powell.

"Manas rupa. The first refers to the astral or personal Self; the second to the individuality or the reincarnating Ego whose consciousness on our plane or the lower Manas - has to be paralysed." Pg 77

"Antaskarana is the lower Manas, the Path of communication or communion between the personality and the higher Manas or human Soul. At death it is destroyed as a Path or medium of communication, and its remains survive in a form as the Kamarupa - the "Shell"." Pg 89

After Madam Blavatsky reintroduced the esoteric, perennial, spiritual wisdom back into mainstream western consciousness, she realized that there were two very different types of seekers who would make use of such knowledge. There were those who would seek it for personal power and selfish benefit, and those who would seek it to attempt to educate and liberate all of humanity. The difference between these paths was transcendence of the personal ego to reach the realm of the Higher Self. This book was an attempt to see that her gift of esoteric knowledge would not be passed unquestioned and unchallenged to those who were not fit to receive it.

The first thing that strikes the reader familiar with _Isis Unveiled_ and _The Secret Doctrine_ is the Buddhist emphasis of this volume. While it is based on the same archaic sources as the other works (some of which are pre-Buddhist in origin) it is the true Buddhist path of the heart that clearly shines through again and again. In fact, you have the admonishment: "But even ignorance is better than Head-learning, with no Soul-wisdom to illuminate and guide it." The Soul-wisdom is clearly present here on every page. This depth of understanding of the highest form of Buddhist thought is indeed remarkable for a book written in the 1880's by a westerner. In writing this book the Madam ensured that the spirit of true enlightenment would forever be welded to the Theosophical movement.

This particular edition is a verbatim copy of the original of 1889. As carefully as Madam Blavatsky chose her words, it would be unthinkable to edit them to be more "accessible" to a modern audience. If the reader has difficulty with the technical Sanskrit terms there are detailed glossaries included for all three sections.

A wonderful introduction to Howard.......2004-06-15

This was the first book from Thomas Howard that I read. And what a wonderful start it was.
Last summer, I was in New York City for almost two months, doing volunteer work in the Sout Bronx, and I bought the book, telling myself I should read it before I trek up North for the summer. The book arrived, and I read it within a few days, and was enlightened for having done so. Howard has a perspective unlike any other, but one that we need. Which is why I'm glad he writes books, for through his books, we can share, in a certain sense, his perspective.
Anyways, this is how I explained the book to those who were curious about it's point: The secret that Howard alludes to in his title is quite basic, but quite forgotten by many. The point is that things like restaraunts, and ballet, and opera, and museums, and what not, are all quite wonderful. But, they all have their place. Life is kind of like a kaleidoscope, and God ought to be at the center, around which EVERYTHING ELSE revolves around. Yes, even family, even friends, and, for those thespians out there (of which I would like to include myself), even theatre. This harks to mind the wonderful wisdom from Christ: Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven.
This book is short, but it is also sweet. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who has an appreciation for literature.

Thomas Howard Takes Manhattan.......2004-04-10

Anyone who's seen the film "Out on a Limb" probably remembers the part where Shirley McLaine is in an occult bookstore and books fly off the shelf, as if urged by an unseen hand. I don't know if librarians can continue in this way to suggest reading selections from beyond the grave, but if I were a spirit so inclined, I would bonk people on the head with this book. Why? Because unaided, it has so much against it. Who's Thomas Howard? Why a book about New York? If it's a real book, why doesn't Amazon even have a picture of it? I found it in a bookstore in Pennsylvania by happenstance, but had an unseen benefactor brought it to my attention by shoving it off the shelf, I'd be thanking them now. This ranks with On Being Catholic among Thomas Howard's best books, and it suffers from the same problem: that casual readers may find it difficult going (see my solution to this problem at the end of my Thomas Howard Guide). Apart from that, this collection of essays ranges widely,while yet retaining the Howardian touch. It also manages to bridge between the musings and casual ruminating of his earlier books (like Chance or the Dance) and the insight and excitement in his later books (Charles Williams, Lead Kindly Light, On Being Catholic). In some ways it hearkens back to his delightful column in The New Oxford Review. Lacking the hands-on approach of a literary poltergeist, my persuasive powers are limited to words. But if you like Thomas Howard, don't miss this intriguing and visionary book. Consider yourself bonked.

G. R. S. Mead in a faith-full man, but he is
also an in-clusionist. He sees the great mystics
and illuminators and God-filled questers as all
being "Sons of God" -- with not just one particular
one being more "divine" than another. But this is
a God-centered group, not a demonic one. Each man
has the divine spirit -- the spark of the eternal
light -- within him, and the degree to which he
listens to it and is guided by it serves as the
touchstone of his insight and his piety.

Baldwin- An amazing mind!.......2005-12-20

Baldwin's most important theoretical legacy is the concept of the Baldwin Effect or Baldwinian evolution. Baldwin proposed, against Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, that there is a mechanism whereby epigenetic factors come to shape the genome as much as-or more than-natural selection pressures. In particular, human behavioural decisions made and sustained across generations as a set of cultural practices ought to be considered among the factors shaping the human genome.

Although relatively obscure in his time, Baldwin's contribution to this field places him at the heart of contemporary controversies in the fields of Evolutionary psychology and wider Sociobiology.

Apart from articles in the Psychological Review, he has written:

Handbook of Psychology (1890), translation of Ribot's, German Psychology of To-day (1886);
Elements of Psychology (1893);
Social and Ethical Interpretations in Mental Development (1898);
Story of the Mind (1898);
Mental Development in the Child and the Race (1896);
Thought and Things (London and New York, 1906).
He also largely contributed to the Dictionary of Philosophy and Psychology (1901-1905), of which he was editor in-chief.

In his book Integral Psychology, Ken Wilber refers to Baldwin as a fore-runner of Wilber's theory of Integral Psychology.

As a huge Ken Wilber fan, I found Baldwins works to be of great importance to my understanding of much of today's current thought. Read him and you will know what I mean!
