Timeless Face is an exercise program that goes much deeper than just skin care. The exercises also help emotionally. I suffer from depression and found in the past nine months of regularly doing both the facial and acupressure techniques that I feel better afterwards. I feel less tension in my face.
Just as exercise shapes and contours the body, exercise for the face can shape and contour the face. What happens when specific exercises are used for the face? The muscles become stronger and the skin becomes resilient. The user looks refreshed because the droopy skin has been revitalized.

An easy book to use and understand!.......2006-11-14
As an esthetician I have found this book amazingly helpful for my clients. I often reccommend it to those clients worried about losing muscle tone, and unable (or unwilling!) to get a face lift.
Do the exercizes...they're fun (!) and you'll get results! Immediately your skin with look healthier (rosier glow, less sallow) and over time you'll notice a difference. Taking pictures of yourself before and after ( after at least a month) will help you truthfully track your progress. Since we look at our face every day...it can be easy to miss gradual changes.

This book really works. She explains the exercise by saying which emotion to imitate...i.e. looked surprised, or she might say show skepticism, or prissy, or humorous smile...etc. My face not only looks better (it actually was slightly sore even though I had been doing a different face routine religiously with Judith Olivia's "face aerobics"--I still like that one too, but feel this is more muscles worked in shorter time )
This is a book, which is the only downside for me. If this came out on DVD I would buy it in a heartbeat. Then again having the book is more portable, we just got back from a camping vacation and I could still do the exercises every day even without a dvd and tv. She shows a great pic of her face doing each exercise and gives tips on how to do it, and also tells you what muscle you are using and gives an optional accupressure spot to gently massage (very easy to do and feels great)
It really works. What surprised me most was my face felt less frozen...Iam only 31 and didn't even know my face had become "frozen" but i feel like emotional reactions come easier now for me. Again, Ididn't even know that had become a problem either. It really opened up my palatte of facial expressions! Meaning I feel like an artist with more colors to chose from.
I love how my face looks also!
I usually do this in the mornings, I keep the book on an end table near my favorite chair, and do this while my 4 year old watches sesame street.
At first it took me about an hour to read threw and really do correctly, but now I fly threw it in only 30 minutes....and I still have time to clean the floors before sesame street is over.
...It would also be easy to do at night while watching a favortie show...just do it on the commercials.
Your mirror reflection will thank you! ( I also do the eye bag excercise additonally while brushing my teeth since I want to work on my eyes most)
This is a great book, and I hope I look as great as the beautiful author at her age!!!! it makes old age sound fun if I could look like that!

Very accessible.......2005-04-27
I value the Maggio book for it's precision but find the exercises confusing and tedious and so don't do them often. This book is more easy going but still fully details which muscles are being worked, offers more than one photo of the exercise and, if you're into it, lists the emotions causing those muscles to need to be rehabilitated.
I do wish there was a picture detailing the accupressure point on the pages of instructions accompanying every exercise but a sticky bookmark makes it easy enough to flip to the graphic when necessary. And, the thought she gives to help explain the movements are excellent. For instance, the Expression given for the Eye Crunch is, "I'm not peeking!" and it really helps one 'get' the movement far better than any other explainations I've read.
I've read that stretching the skin is to be avoided but no longer think this is cause for concern unless one is in the habit of wrecklessly distorting the face with one's hands for the mere fun of it. I notice on the instruction sheet for Frownies that one is required to stretch the skin in order to place them and many, many women have sworn by them for decades so it can't be a bad thing to *carefully* move to skin to rehabilitate it.

I got this book a few days ago and was disappointed at first glance -- the acupressure information was cursory and the
Chinese physiognomy aspect, which I would love to know more about, was pretty minimal. I settled down to the actual exercises today, however -- the pairing of emotion/phrase and photo makes it easier to "get" the subtle movements required than any meticulous step-by-step description of which muscle to move when. This is "method face-lifting," you might say -- think yourself into the attitude and you're doing the exercise. It's intuitive and it's fun -- certainly worth a try. Make a video and I'll buy that, too!

I checked this book out of the library a few weeks ago, but this is a book that I simply must own. This isn't the type of book that you read front to back and then you're done. This is a book you'll want to keep with you for the rest of your life.

Her book is so inspiring, that I save it to relish as my last reading each day so that I head out for the world renewed and positive. Moran writes in her typical elegant, yet practical and profound manner. This is a real find. I even purchased extra copies to give as gifts for friends and family!

We are always looking for ways to feel better about ourselves. Whether ir is through affirmations, changing our health, changing our looks, or through doing a little something for ourselves. Many women get caught uo in our day to day routines and don't take time for ourselves each day like we should. Don't you deserve a little something? With this book you will and you will want to without feeling guilty.
This book is set up in a neat way. Ms. Moran offers us a suggestion for every day of the year to help you feel energized, confident and filled with youthfullness that you felt at one point in your life.
Many of the suggestions will make you take a step back and really think about what you have been doing with your time and your life. Her entries are very inspiring. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who feels they are stuck on a rut and needs a different perspective on things.

While there are a few good tips, I found the book lacking in enough detail to actually use (especially in the makeup section). Some of the tips on natural solutions for menopause were actually counter to scientific evidence. Complete waste of my money. I find myself at a loss for what to do with the book - I don't want to pass it along to anyone else . . .

I own two other Diane Irons books and she is certainly true to form with this gem. Her tips are straight-forward and best of all--effective! One of the things that makes "Age-Defying Beauty Secrets" so unique, is that Ms Irons also addresses attitude, which is where beauty really begins. Readers will find lots of simple things they can to to improve their beauty inside and out. Hair, skin, figure, fashion--even tips from movie stars---it's all there! You can go directly to the section that you need, without having to read the book in order. This book is really a treasure, to keep and go back to again and again.

Diane Irons has finally come out with her new book, Age Defying Beauty Secrets. This book is filled with thousands of tips and tricks to help you look beautiful, young, and at your best. The main focus of this book is to give you simple, easy-to-follow secrets, tips, and tricks for looking and feeling younger.
You'll get tips on fashion, beauty, diet, nutrition, and even secrets of Hollywood's biggest models and stars. As another reviewer commented, many of these tips are found in fashion magazines, but there are also many new ones and it is very nice to have them all in one place. The best part is that they really work!! An excellent book and I would definitely recommend it to anybody.

If you read fashion magazines, you probably know most of the tips and tricks in this book. (Note I didn't say ALL of them, just most of them.)
Still, it's great to have so much useful beauty, diet, exercise, nutrition, fashion advice listed in one convenient resource.
And that's the beauty of Ms. Iron's book. You have the answers to your beauty/fashion dilemas right at your fingertips, and you can look up whatever you need to know (or have forgotten). There are also plenty of tips you may NOT have known about, and from what I've sampled, most of the tips work.
This would make a nice "pamper yourself" gift from you to you.

Gay Hendricks is one of my favorite personal development authors. Partly, this is because I feel he and I are walking similar paths towards what he calls 'Conscious Living', but a lot of it is more simple than that - he gives good technique. While I found it difficult to apply some of the specifics in the 'Vibrant Eating' part of this book, every other technique was easy to implement and almost immediately impactful.
Hendrick's divides the book into five core sections - the vibrance mindset, the vibrance flex (movement), vibrant breathing, vibrant eating, and vibrant connections (relationships). Each section is chock full of practical techniques and suggestions for gaining vibrance when you're feeling sludgy and maintaining and enhancing vibrance when you already are feeling good. In addition, the book finishes with three 'Vibrance routines' - a 7 minute foundation routine, an extended advanced routine, and a 14 day 'Neuro-gymnastics' program to install the vibrance mindset.
The fundamental premise here is simple yet radical - it is possible to feel vibrantly alive every minute of every day for as long as you live. Great book. She sets you on a routine that intially, I thought would be impossible to comply with. But it was not. She calls basically for a 30 day period of raw food, juicing and fasting. Great combinations. Her approach takes the sting out of fasting and makes eating raw seem like a blessing. Physically and mentally I felt better. I think I even grew some spirtually. She has a solid approach. Easy to follow. She gives you a great start and a model to continue.
