Customer Reviews:
Must have for the Paris Traveller.......2007-09-28
My wife and I recently spent 4 days in Paris with this map (and each other!). It was absolutely indispensable. It had everything on it from several of the monuments and museums we wanted to visit to all of the metro and RER train lines. We will definitely be taking this with us on our next trip to Paris.
great product! fast service!.......2007-09-24
This is the handiest map you'll ever use! Easy to use, easy to carry... and every single street is on there! You cannot get lost with this handy!!!
Love these maps.......2007-06-08
Not really sure how much more good I can say about these maps.
I have one for most of the cities I travel too and really like the amount of Paris covered on this map.
The cartography is very easy to read and the street indexing is very helpful.
Buy!
helpful map.......2007-05-29
Not the best map of the city, but good. It's better than nothing thats for sure.
A Handy Pocket Map of Paris.......2007-05-17
This clearly printed, sturdy little map saves you from carrying a heavy guidebook everywhere. You can stash it easily in a pocket and refer to it in a flash. It covers only central Paris which is mainly where you'll be if you are only there for a few days. If you go out to the Bois de Boulogne or Pere La Chaise you'll have to bring the guidebook or do what Parisians do and pick up a copy of Paris Pratique at the local book store.

STREETWISE(r) SEATTLE
Revised yearly, STREETWISE(r) is the best-selling map of SEATTLE, with coverage from Keyarena to Seattle University. Localities covered are the Experience Music Project, Waterfront Park, and the Space Needle. Points of interest such as museums, hotels, parks, and popular sites are highlighted and fully indexed. The Seattle Street System is clearly indicated on a map inset. Laminated for durability, accordion folded to fit in your pocket or purse, STREETWISE(r) gives you SEATTLE in a clear, concise, and convenient format.
Customer Reviews:
Streetwise Seattle.......2007-08-07
Covers the subject well but far from completly. Handy to carry because it is a small book. Nice color illustrations. Points of interest chosen would sit well with people in their 20's but no so well with people in their 60's
Clearest foldable map of downtown Seattle!.......2005-12-11
Before heading into Seattle as an intern this summer, I bought a few foldable maps - each with different strengths and weaknesses. By the end of the summer, the only map living in the front seat of my MINI Cooper was this one. I love it because the streets are clearly labeled. I love it because it shows some of the surrounding neighborhoods, not just the main downtown area. And most of all, I love it because it shows the on and offramps for the freeway. How many times have you hit a bizarre interchange and not known what lane to be in, or been stuck in a maze of one-way streets? This map is absolutely the clearest at indicating directionality of streets, and that's a good thing because Seattle is a pretty messy city to get around in by car.
Combine this map with one of the bound King/Pierce/Snohomish County "map books" that are sold at most big box stores in the metro area with detailed grid maps of the entire area, and you'll never get lost. Highly recommended!
Average customer rating:

Revised yearly, STREETWISE is the best-selling map of LONDON, with coverage from Battersea Park Road to Shoreditch Park. Localities covered are Soho, Notting Hill, Covent Garden, Chelsea, Westminster, and Brompton. Points of interest such as museums, parks, and popular sites are highlighted and fully indexed. London Underground is clearly indicated on a map inset. Laminated for durability, accordion folded to fit in your pocket or purse, STREETWISE gives you LONDON in a clear, concise, and convenient format.
Customer Reviews:
Good. Just good........2007-01-18
Great item, perfectly suited needs. Sent to someone coming to visit London so they could get it in their heads where things were. To be totally honest the London A-Z is better, but as it's the standard among locals I guess that's to be expected.
Good item, no worries about it. I'd buy it again. x
Streetwise London.......2006-11-05
Very good map for the first time traveler...It is waterproof & will fit in your pocket..Many small streets are not listed & the Mass-transit system needs work...If you use the underground, don't buy this map...
Convenient design, but inadequate detail.......2003-11-19
The Streetwise London map is very convenient if you limit yourself to central London and only need to find important attractions and/or streets of major or moderate significance. But many smaller streets in central London are NOT even named on the map and are not listed in the index. This was definitely a problem for me in finding smaller hotels, restaurants, etc. and lesser tourist attractions. In addition, the map includes some decent subway information, but nothing about buses. The reason for these inadequacies appears to be that the map is not detailed enough for there to be room to label the smaller streets and lesser tourist attractions. In summary, I suspect that this map will work better for first-time visitors than for repeat visitors.
There are much better options.......2003-09-11
I ordered "Streetwise London" based on reviews such as "must have" and "don't go without it."
Luckily, I also ordered "The London Mapguide" because I found "Streetwise London" a big disappointment... The map is from the early '90s. The size is handy, but too small to legibly show enough detail to be much use.
"The London Mapguide," for about $1 more, shows tube routes and stations, bus routes, and lots of other useful detail and it will also fit in a big pocket.
For central London it's a great tool!.......2003-03-25
A week in London, and this map was with me on every outing. The Streetwise Map is a great help in navigating Central London, but if you want to go beyond "Zone One" on the London Bus and Underground system, this map will be of no help at all.

STREETWISE(r) PRAGUE
Revised yearly, STREETWISE(r) is the best-selling map of PRAGUE, with coverage from the Vyehrad to the National Gallery of Contemporary Art. Localities covered are Emmaus Abby, Strahov Stadium, and The Prague Castle. Points of interest such as museums, hotels, parks, and popular sites are highlighted and fully indexed. Laminated for durability, accordion folded to fit in your pocket or purse, STREETWISE(r) gives you PRAGUE in a clear, concise, and convenient format.
Customer Reviews:
Useful but not essential.......2007-05-07
The map is convenient to use, and the lamination keeps it from getting destroyed from use. But it is relatively expensive considering you can get the same map in your tourist guide or for free from any one of a number of places once you get to Prague.
Must Have Map.......2007-04-30
In typical Streetwise fashion, this is an excellent map that is key to exploring the city of Prague which has many confusing streets with confusing names.
This is a map not a guide and while it does point out places of interest it is obviously meant as a map first and foremost. None of the free maps I found came close to be as legible and understandable. The fact that it is a trifold lamninated map makes it very easy to keep in your jacket and use.
A definite must have for Prague in my opinion.
Great for 'streetwalking'.......2007-01-03
There are maps with even more detail, but this map is an essential. Lightweight, laminated (waterproof), pocket-sized, and with almost all the detail that most visitors need. Fully-opened, it is still small, unobtrusive, and easy to use. A handy gazeteer lists many streets and monuments, with map grid locations. There are some very tiny streets/alleys that are hard to make out, but that is true for almost any
pocket-sized folding map. I buy a Streetwise for any city destination.
Map of Prague.......2006-11-10
Worked out perfectly for our recent trip to Prague. We used it every day.
OK, but not as your only resource.......2006-08-13
This map is convienient (like the others in the series) because you can fold it in half and stick it in your pocket without it getting all ripped up. However, I ended up referring to other maps as well to verify where I was going. The Prague map is particularly inconvenient in that it divides the Stare Mesto (the central area where most tourists spend their time) in half, such that I frequently had to turn it over as I traced my path.

STREETWISE(r) BARCELONA
Revised yearly, STREETWISE(r) is the best-selling map of BARCELONA, with coverage from Museu Militar to Casa-Museu Gaudi. Localities covered are Museu Picasso, Teatre del Liceu, and Portal de la pau Placa. Points of interest such as museums, hotels, parks, and popular sites are highlighted and fully indexed. The Old City Center is clearly indicated on a map inset. Laminated for durability, accordion folded to fit in your pocket or purse, STREETWISE(r) gives you BARCELONA in a clear, concise, and convenient format.
Customer Reviews:
Barcelona Map.......2007-02-18
An excellent map - easy to read and to fold. Highly recommended.
Accurate and tough the Streetwise Map.......2005-12-28
The Streetwise Biblao was sure a helop to me as a tourist. Bilbao is a city in which few speak English (even at the hotels) and I found the map a godsend. It was to scale and accurate even as to the difficult Basque spelling of words. I had another map with me (It will go un-named) and it was a joke. I've come to rely on Streetwise over the years and have neve been disapointed except when they don't have a title for the city I'm visiting.
old.......2005-03-05
This map is generally useful and the plastic format is very convenient, but although this site says the map is c. 2001, the map I got was a 1996 version, and therefore missing some significant developments since then, e.g., the Raval Rambla.
This map is missing detail.......2005-02-12
In engineering we learn that when you optimize for one feature
you sometimes have to give up other features, or scale them
back. Perhaps this is the issue with this map.
The Streetwise map of Barcelona is designed so that it will
easily fit in your pocket or purse. It is plastic or plasticized
paper, so it is sturdy. But what is lost is detail. For example,
the street in the Ravel where I will be renting an apartment is
not shown on the map.
The map does show the subway and bus routes which is nice too.
But if you need detail, you need another map. I highly
recommend the Rough Guide maps. They are detailed and
very tough. My survived daily use for two weeks.
Book Description
Written by three gifted-and funny-teachers, How to Ace Calculus provides humorous and readable explanations of the key topics of calculus without the technical details and fine print that would be found in a more formal text. Capturing the tone of students exchanging ideas among themselves, this unique guide also explains how calculus is taught, how to get the best teachers, what to study, and what is likely to be on exams-all the tricks of the trade that will make learning the material of first-semester calculus a piece of cake. Funny, irreverent, and flexible, How to Ace Calculus shows why learning calculus can be not only a mind-expanding experience but also fantastic fun.
Customer Reviews:
Horrible.......2007-10-01
I bought this book after seeing the reviews thinking it'd be wonderful but all it's good for is acting as a paperweight. There are no practice problems and the sections are very short. There are charts and formulas in the back but what's the point if they don't help you learn to apply them? IMO- Math takes alot of practice problems for success. I bought this and "The Humongous Book of Calculus Problems: For People Who Don't Speak Math", which I HIGHLY recommend. I'll now be buying "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Calculus" which is from the same author.
Best Side-Text Available.......2007-05-26
Students of calculus often find that they "don't understand" what the textbook is saying, what the teacher is saying, what the problem is saying/asking. This book explains the mathematics with integrity and humor. Over the past several years I am sure that more than a hundred of my students have purchased this book and the sequel, How to Ace the Rest of Calculus, and to a one they all love it! When the stuff in class doesn't hang together we all turn to "Colin and friends" to see how they explain it.
Excellent Book.......2007-05-06
If you are taking calculus without this book, you are wasting too much time. This book is destined to be a classic. If you enjoy being confused and want bad grades, this book is not for you.
Helped this engineering student conquer calculus-induced panic!.......2007-01-10
The great thing about this book is undoubtedly the way the material is presented. It's lighthearted without treating the reader like a moron and every topic is presented in amazing depth and clarity.
I bought this book for my first semester of college calculus. I was apprehensive about what I was getting myself into by going into Computer Science when I haven't historically been very interested in math. On the first exam of the semester, I got a perfect 100%...something I have never achieved on any math test as far back as 4th grade. While I won't say this book was the sole reason since I spent lots of time doing problems, I will say that having it nearby to refer to helped me feel not so scared to dig in and get my hands dirty in what Calculus is really all about.
Out of all the books I bought on Calculus, this one was far and away the best. It should be a required textbook for all first-semester college calculus courses! I've now finished Calc 3 and I'm now taking Differential Equations; I owe it all to the boost of confidence I got from reading this book.
The best accompaniment to any calculus text........2006-12-31
I am a mathematics teacher. I admire this textbook, and have recommended it many times to my students. It is not a substitute for your textbook, but will help you immensely in your studies.
Book Description
This is a smaller version of Streetwise Manhattan which has holes to fit the map into a 6 ring planner. The map includes an inset of the bus routes with the detailed map of Manhattan. Features include churches, hospitals, general sites, limited highway access, subway stations and more.
Customer Reviews:
Lame nyc map.......2007-09-12
don't waste your money. just because its laminated doesn't make it a good map. Not all streets are on it and sections of manhattan are missing. I wouldn't count on this map to help you out if you don't know the area and have things memorized before you get here. WE got lost on more than one occasion trying to use this thing.
Get the NFT black book of nyc instead. It has all you need and is small enough to fit into your purse or pocket.
Adequate Map - light weight........2007-08-14
I rate this as number three of the four references I purchased to help me navigate NYC. It's sturdy, compact, light weight and packs in all the information you might need to navigate Manhattan and hit the tourist spots.
This is the map to buy if you want to travel light in Manhattan.
Great product!.......2007-04-02
I love my Streetwise map. Sometimes it's a little hard to read for these middle aged eyes though. All in all, I couldn't do without it on my trips to Manhattan.
Great!!! ...subway connections would have been helpful though!.......2007-02-05
This is great-a laminated trifold that weathered through daily use during my months in NYC. I don't know what I would have done without it! However, while it shows subway STOPS, it doesn't show how they CONNECT. I bought a credit card sized subway connection map at a newspaper stand to supplement. The combination of the two was perfect! Also note that it is about half the size of an 11/13 peice of paper.
Perfect map for Manhattan visitor.......2006-12-20
I've gone through several editions and given several away. The great strength is the clear integration of streets and subway.

Revised yearly, STREETWISE is the best-selling map of WASHINGTON DC, with coverage from the Pentagon/11th Street Bridge to Garfield/Franklin Road. Points of interest such as museums, parks, and popular sites are highlighted and fully indexed. Localities covered include Georgetown, Arlington National Cemetery, Rosslyn, Anacosta, and the Potomac River. Also, there is an inset map of the WASHINGTON DC Mall. Laminated for durability, accordion folded to fit in your pocket or purse, STREETWISE gives you WASHINGTON DC in a clear, concise, and convenient format.
Customer Reviews:
Best DC Map.......2007-08-12
This was the best source for helping us maneuver through the maze of buildings, monuments, and memorials in Washington, DC. The map is very functional. Flip it one way and you see the Metro, flip it another way you see the mall, still another and you have a DC area map. Since it's laminated, I kept it in my pocket while walking around and didn't worry about it getting sweaty or damaged. I really like the detailed names of the buildings and monuments near and around the national mall. Metro stops and streets are well marked. The next best thing to GPS.
Small Map.......2007-07-16
Map is extremely small and difficult to read. It did help but, it was not easy to use, especially while driving when information is needed rapidly.
New in town lifesaver!.......2007-05-18
When I moved to DC I had only been there one additional time, my job interview! My friends got me a guide book for moving to DC and this map. It saved my life the first trip to DC on a weekend, and it helped me explore great dining since I knew how far it was to walk or Metro. I love this map so much I know have one for most cities I visit, like Manhattan!
Good things do indeed come in small packages.......2007-05-10
This map was a great help when we were in DC - the detail was fantastic and it was easy to tote around. The enlarged detail for the national mall was extremely helpful
one small detraction - the print is small - so be warned
Outstanding map... but get the right one.......2007-04-11
Streetwise maps are laminated and meant to fold up small enough to fit in a hip pocket. This map of Washington DC includes a small street index as well as an index of local attractions. There are also indexes for top attractions, parks, and public buildings. The map itself is very clear and well marked. It includes a small separate map showing the routes that the Metro trains follow. Additionally, there is page that shows a blown up map of the Mall that is amazing in its clarity as it really highlights the locations of all the museums, monuments, etc. in this highly popular tourist area.
One should be aware, however, that Amazon sells two different Streetwise maps for DC. One is labeled as "Compact" and is just 6.75" tall. The other is a bit bigger at 8.6". While this doesn't sound like a big difference, it has a huge impact on how easy it is to read the map. The small one has very fine print and can be quite difficult to make out. The larger one will still fit in a pocket and will also take major strain off of your eyes. Make sure you have the right one prior to ordering, amazon even mingles the reviews for the two so it can be a bit confusing.

Revised yearly, STREETWISE is the best-selling map of ROME, with coverage from Ponte Testaccio to Ponte del Risorgimento. Points of interest such as museums, parks, and popular sites are highlighted and fully indexed. Indispensable travel tool!.......2007-09-13
I have Streetwise guides for every city I have lived in or visit. They are perfect, easy to carry, and last!
Streetwise Rome Map.......2007-07-07
I love Streetwise maps--I have a lot of them from different cities I have visited, or plan to visit. They are so helpful and convenient. You don't have to worry about them if you are out sightseeing and it starts to rain because the water just beads up and runs off. They are small so that you can fit them easily into a purse or fanny pack and they don't weigh a lot.

Good to carry with you.......2007-03-22
Like the other maps in the streetwise line, this is a small laminated map. It will be very good to carry as a reference when in Rome. Because it is small it is not so good for planning your trip -- which, of course, it what I got it for.
Once you have the Streetwise and a metro ticket - you own Rome. .......2007-03-20
The Rome Streetwise is great! It is light enough to easily carry around - big enough to read even with bifocals - and has ALL the streets on it, even the little narrow ones. It also has the metro stations clearly identified. So, with this in one hand and your metro ticket in the other - you can go anywhere you need to go in Rome to see ALL the major sites and most of the smaller ones too. You don't need a car or taxi in Rome - just your streetwise and a metro ticket. In fact, by looking at the Streetwise, we could see that many attractions were grouped close enough to each other that we could use the map to just walk from one to the other. (Ex: Spanish steps to Pantheon) I wouldn't go there without one of these.
A great and sturdy map........2007-02-08
This map is great. All the streets, sites, taxi stands and bus routes are right on there. It's the only map you'll need in Rome. It's even waterproof (or sweatproof - which proved to me more important!!!).

Customer Reviews:
INCREDIBLY HELPFUL.......2007-06-06
My husband and I found this map to be extremely helpful, in large part because of the clear identification of the monuments. It's worth the money to have it for the first day or two until you get your bearings.
Limited worth for the price.......2007-05-22
On a recent visit to Venice I used the Streetwise Venice map. Though I found the plastic coating beneficial during a rain shower, the map was of limited value. Because of its size, street names were often illegible. The northern part of the city was cut off from the map and therefore gave me no help in exploring that part of the city where so many of the locals live. Far better to pick up one of the free maps given out by the tourist office, or available in almost all of the hotels.
Streetwise Venice.......2007-03-08
This is a somewhat pricey item considering it's only a map, but a laminated map is a valuable resource when your lost in that splendid maze of Venice. It's a good size and very easy to use.
Was expecting more.......2007-01-21
This is a Venice street map, laminated, folding into standard envelope size item. You can get essentially the same thing, only without lamination, from a tourist bureau while in Venice for free. A good product, but not an essential one to buy ahead of your trip to Venice - get it there.
Streetwise Venice.......2007-01-03
Don't buy a map of Venice, unless you want it for its sentimental value. Venice is far too complicated to map properly; you'll end up more confused. Just follow the MANY streetsigns in the city and you will find what you are looking for. Besides, getting a little lost in Venice isn't a bad way to spend your day anyway.
