Customer Reviews:
very good!.......2007-07-01
this was really good and you are left with wondering what is going on in the heroines life, very good mystery. the "redraggers" are always amusing.
First time reader of Scumble River Mysteries.......2007-06-11
I found the story delightful. It is one of the "cozy" murder mysteries, and those are the type I enjoy. I thought the plot was well thought out and I was surprised by the ending. As my first Scumble River Mysteries, I am happy to say I'd read another.
Mud and murder at a local spa.......2007-05-19
Skye Denison is planning on having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with her family in Scumble River, Illinois, but her best friend, Trixie, has other ideas. Trixie convinces Skye that they should accept a free weekend at the newly-opened Scumble River Spa, and try to find treasure which is reputedly buried in the backyard of the old, converted mansion. Skye has her doubts, but soon she finds herself at the spa, wrapped in seaweed and eating tiny portions of inedible food. Soon a murder takes place in the mud bath, and Skye is knee-deep in the investigation. She is also caught between her current boyfriend, Wally, and her ex-boyfriend, Simon, and
her mother and Simon's mother come to the spa to help convince her to return to her old love interest.
According to her biography, author Denise Swanson was a school psychologist for 22 years, so her references to Skye's experiences in the same job always ring true. This book is a welcome addition to an enjoyable series.
A good book to take to the airport or doc's office.......2007-05-18
Okay, the opening scene would have your seatmates in either place scowling at you, but it's probably one of the funniest scenes I've ever read--including the Janet Evanovich. Clearly, a lot of work's gone into developing Scumble River and its people. This is my first in the series and if I need a good fast fun read, I'm going to definitely check more out.
Good read.......2007-05-17
This is another good edition to the Scumble River series. I enjoyed the plot line and the characters. The ending did have a twist I wasn't expecting. Skye and Wally make a good couple and I hope they stay together.

Book Description
Michael Connellys most famous character, Detective Harry Bosch, has been thrilling readers for a decade. Now available in one omnibus edition are the three books that brought him to life. First introduced in The Black Echo, Bosch hunts the brutal murderer of a Vietnam buddy. Then, in The Black Ice, a narcotics officers disappearance sends Bosch on a trail of murders leading from Hollywood Boulevard to Mexicos dusty back alleys. In The Concrete Blonde, Bosch must hunt down the Dollmaker, a macabre serial killer, before he strikes again. Together, these three novels are the perfect way to discover, or rediscover, one of our most fascinating and well-loved sleuths. A Darkness More Than Night, also featuring Harry Bosch, is a New York Times bestseller and a national bestseller. Connellys sales continue to rise. Since its January 2001 publication, A Darkness More Than Night has shipped more than 235,000 copies. The Black Echo won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel. Connelly has also won a Nero Wolfe prize, a Macavity Award, and an Anthony Award.

Wonderful writer.......2007-05-14
Michael Connelly is an incredible mystery writer. The plots are well-done, the characters believable. I would highly recommend any of the Harry Bosch mystery novels.
Great stories.......2007-05-12
Another hit by Michael Connelly. I love his Harry Bosch books, the depth of character, attention to detail and beautifully tailored plots make for a completely enjoyable read. This one is great because you get three complete Bosch books for the price of one. Of course, if you like to lie in bed and read the 3 in 1 format makes it really heavy to hold up, but it's worth the effort.
I'm a writer myself so I know how hard it is to turn out such consistently great tales. If you'd like to check out my book click on The Towers Of Greed and if you buy it please buy it from seller Whitebear54 since that's me, the author.

As a Connelly addict I have to say this is the place to begin...the beginning. One read and you too will be hooked.

Book Description
The Dollmaker was the name of the serial killer who had stalked Los Angeles ruthlessly, leaving grisly calling cards on the faces of his female victims. Now with a single faultless shot, Detective Harry Bosch thinks he has ended the city's nightmare. But the dead man's widow is suing Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man-- an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new victim is discovered with the Dollmaker's macabre signature. So for the second time, Harry must hunt down a death-dealer who is very much alive, before he strikes again. It's a blood-tracked quest that will take Harry from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go-- the darkness of his own heart. With The Concrete Blonde, Edgar Award-winning author Michael Connelly has hit a whole new level in his career, creating a breathtaking thriller that thrusts you into a blistering courtroom battle-- and a desperate search for a sadistic killer.
Customer Reviews:
Bosch is just the best.......2007-09-20
I love this series. I started at the beginning and have enjoyed every book. This is no exception. Bosch is a great character and Connelly knows how to write a detective novel, no doubt about it. The plots are always interesting and never predictable or trite.
Connelly is A MASTER!.......2007-08-17
I found Michael Connelly just recently on recommendation of another author, and I am glad I did. Mr. Connelly is a talented, entertaining, and masterful writer. His concise dialogue and attention to details and emotions make all of his novels outstanding reads. This one is no exception. If you are an avid reader, mystery fan, or are just looking for something to read, you cannot do wrong with a Michael Connelly novel....especially the Harry Bosch series. Harry is a great character, and Connelly is a superb writer.
Classic Connelly.......2007-06-14
I feel lucky! Why? Because having discovered Michael Connelly only recently and so far reading just three of his novels, it means that there are sixteen more to go! What a treat, especially if they come close to matching this one. It's the third in the Harry Bosch series and was written in 1994 - but don't for one minute think that it's out of date, that the best stories are the newest ones. This is as good as anything I've read this year, the only book that has matched it is The Lincoln Lawyer, by the same author.
It does, however, remind me vaguely of two other novels of times past: Mark Billingham's Scaredy Cat and Mo Hayder's The Treatment. I'll say nothing more other than quote the punchline from the cover of Scaredy Cat - "Serial killers normally work alone". But The Concrete Blonde is in fact heavily built around a courtroom drama that spreads its full length, because Bosch (or more correctly the LAPD) is being sued by the widow of a man he killed four years earlier, a man he was sure was a multiple murderer known as the Dollmaker. The plaintiff has a hot-shot female lawyer on a big retainer to represent her case for the prosecution in this civil (i.e. not criminal) trial, while Bosch must depend on a less-than-impressive, overweight and sweaty youngster who is paid the same salary whether he wins or loses. As the trial progresses, the reader becomes more and more resigned to an inevitable loss for the defendant, but the conclusion is anything but predictable.
Running in parallel to the events in the courtroom, Bosch is investigating a new case that bears worryingly similar hallmarks to the works of the deceased Dollmaker. A new body is found, and as the investigation develops, not only the reader but even Bosch himself start wondering if he shot the right man four years ago. I had at least two suspects in mind and oddly enough Bosch chose these two as well, although I wondered if this was clever reader manipulation on the part of the author. In the end I was caught out, it was someone not even on my `might be' list. I have to admit that I enjoy courtroom theatrics, and even though Bosch didn't really care if he lost, Connelly still manages to make the trial gripping and sometimes moving as well, as unknown secrets about Bosch's life are cold-bloodedly made public. Characterisation is of a very high standard throughout, not least of course that of the tortured soul that is Hieronymus Bosch. Strongly recommended.
Harry Bosch and his grim world.......2007-06-10
Quite an absorbing story. Michael Connelly IS indeed a great writer. His characters are quite edgy. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to read a gripping, suspenseful story.
Outstanding........2007-06-06
What a piece of work! Mr Connelly did it again brilliantly. One of the best works on the Harry Bosch's series (probably the best). If you're looking for a book that keeps you reading by the hours, this is your best choice. And let Harry Bosch, Sylvia, Edgar, the Dollmaker and the Follower do the service for your entertainment. You just have to sit and enjoy the reading.
Customer Reviews:
Super third novel!.......2007-07-19
Zoey Dean is at it again, with her third book in the A- List Series. In this book Anna gets an internship with Clark Sheppard, Cammie's dad, after Margaret gets angry at her. Things are going great in the set, and Anna may be falling in love with another guy. Ben goes back to Princeton, worried that Anna will fall in love with another guy. Cammie, on the other hand, tries to destroy Anna's intership. Information is leaked to Hollywood tonight about the show, Hermosa Beach, and everyone believes it is Anna. Clark fires Anna for this and Mia, Cammie's new stepsister has had enough with Cammie and tells her stepfather, Clark, that it was Cammie, for which he takes away her credit cards and car. Clark offers Anna the job back, but does not apologize, so Anna turns him down, so she an work on her film with Sam.
Parents BEWARE! Lots of sexual content........2006-07-10
These books are touted as "teen" books, but are highly sexual and completely inappropriate for young people. I read one just to keep up with what my 13-year-old stepdaughter is reading and could not believe that her mother allows her to read this trash. Passages where teens are kissing, then "moaning", then "moving on top of her" are common. This is adult material, not suitable for teens.
A-List #3: Blonde Ambition.......2006-06-28
Once again, I am addicted to the A-List novels. I started reading it, then got bored, then picked it up again a few days later and read it all the way through. I loved it. This one had more action in it.
Okay, so Ben and Anna are together, and then Anna gets an interneship with Clark Sheppard, which is Cammie's dad. Cammie is really mad, and she tries to get revenge. She's also mad at Sam and Dee because they seem to be hanging out with Anna more, so she starts trying to get Adam from Sam but then when she kisses him she thinks there's something more.
Anna and Ben have problems too, when Ben doesn't go back to Princeton. Then, when he does she and Danny are together.
I wish Anna wouldn't do this. I mean, maybe Ben isn't best for her but she is being such a player.
Either way, I loved this book
THE A-LIST DOES IT AGAIN!.......2006-06-27
The a-List yet again does not cease to amaze me! This book was a wonderful read and I thoought it was as good as the others! Anna and Ben are finally back togther, but what is up with ben's jealousy problem? Ben obviously can't stand to see Anna with another guy, and thats why he's put Princeton aside. Sam continues to be a good friend to Anna. But really, what is going on with the Cammie and Adam thing? Adam is such a great guy and Cammie is amazingly catty, can their relationship work? Or is it doomed to fail like all other hollywood relationships? Is Ben going beck to Princeton?ever? Is Anna going to grow tired of Ben and his jealous ways? Or will she stay by his side in the name of love? Read the book to find out!!!!
I Loved it!.......2006-06-19
This was a great book! Ben really started annoying me because he was becoming so protective. I finshed this book in 2 days and i'm on " A-List" withdrawl right know. I l,oved all the new chartcters that evolved.

This time, justice is blonde. . . .
New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottolinedelivers a riveting page-turner about love and murder that starts in the elite chambers of a sexy female judge and ends on the cold, gritty streets of Philadelphia.
Cate Fante is strong and smart, but when she becomes a federal judge, even she wonders if she can do the job justice. She's in her thirties, so she feels as though she's joining the world's most exclusive retirement village. She worries inwardly that she only looks the part, in a designer suit donned like overpriced armor. After all, a job described in the United States Constitution would intimidate anybody.
But Cate keeps her doubts a secret. And, as it happens, much else. For she leads a dark double life that she hides from everyone, even her best friend.
Then a high-profile case in her courtroom explodes into a shocking murder-suicide, and it blasts her cover wide open. Overnight the tabloids tell her secrets, her boyfriend dumps her, and her new career hangs in tatters. But Cate's troubles are only beginning. An enemy no one anticipated sends her running for her life -- -embarking on a journey that begins in the mystery of her own childhood, where she first learned to lie. She'll have to fight her way back to the truth, or die trying.
Dirty Blonde is Lisa Scottoline's most suspenseful and gripping thriller to date. Mixing poignancy with her trademark wit and wonderfully compelling characters, it showcases her remarkable talents as never before, and questions whether law and justice are always the same thing.

Customer Reviews:
A real page turner!.......2007-08-18
I am an attorney, and I have clerked for a federal judge. I can say that the plot of DIRTY BLONDE is not the most realistic or likely scenario, but boy was it a pageturner, and a break from the mundane legal issues that I have typically encountered as a clerk, or now, as a practicing attorney. But the old-school stodginess of the other sitting district court judges was real-- they are old school, and they don't seem to welcome competition from attractive young women in fancy high heels. And the issue of whether by-the-book justice is better than or above intutitive fairness is a very real issue -- one of the only issues disagreed with my Judge about.
Attorney or not, I recommened DIRTY BLONDE as fun, suspenseful, and interesting. I am not usually into mysteries, but I plan on reading a lot more Lisa Scottoline.
A strong summer read........2007-08-12
Scottoline changes things up a bit. The lead is not a young perky, pretty attorney from Philadelphia. This one is headed up by Cate Fante, a 39 year old, newly-appointed Federal judge from East-central Pennsylvania (but not Philadelphia) with a secret life of anonymous sex with strange men she picks up in bars (not a spoiler - you find out by page 5).
Her secret life soon explodes into her professional life and her whole life becomes a deadly mess when a case she presided over turns murderous.
An entertaining read. I give this one a B+.
Missing Rosato........2007-08-02
I am a huge fan of Lisa Scottoline, especially having grown up in the Philadelphia area and loving all of her Philly references. That said, I wasn't quite as engaged in this book as I have been with her others. First, I miss the Rosato clan. She has done such a great job of developing these characters that it seems a shame to depart. Second, it doesn't seem as if the killer's motive was really explained or made sense. That part of the story kind-of just ended. I'm hoping to see Bennie, Mary, and Judy back in Lisa's next novel.
Selling out to product endorsements...........2007-06-20
I have enjoyed Lisa Scottoline's books in the past, but I didn't finish this one because I found the numerous product endorsements to be ridiculous and distracting. I first noticed them when Diet Coke was mentioned 3 times within 2 pages, then the list was endless...Glenlivet, Miller, Prada, Cheerios, Wal-Mart, Minute Maid, Reebok, CVS....the list goes on and on. Aren't we surrounded by enough advertisements in our daily lives? How could she concentrate on writing a good story when she's thinking about where to best place the next product? Very disappointing.
Dirty Blond.......2007-06-09
This story line was tough to swallow. Even the most air-headed among us wouldn't do what this babe did to herself and supposedly she had a law degree and thus I assume is not supposed to be considered an air-head.
Quality of writing was alright but it is not a book I would recommend.
Book Description
A multi-textual memoir chronicling the life of one of our most potent pop icons
Groundbreaking rock musician. Award-winning actress. Perceptive songwriter and author. Mother. Wife of a rock god. Fashionista and trendsetter. Provocateur. In each and every one of these roles Courtney Love has demonstrated a wholehearted commitment to her art, and an intense drive and a lust for life that have made her a star and a celebrity icon—but have also led her into some unwise, uncharted, and even dangerous territory. Simultaneously candid and enigmatic, Love has a mordant wit and vivid intelligence matched in intensity only by the extraordinary life she has led, from a bleak early childhood through great fame and terrible heartbreak to the present day. By turns exhilarating and unsettling, this is a story told for the first time in Dirty Blonde.
Composed of an astonishing and eclectic collection of deeply personal artifacts including personal letters, childhood records, poetry, diary entries, song lyrics, fanzines, show flyers, other original writings, and never-before-seen photographs, Dirty Blonde leads us through the unimaginable highs and the despairing lows of one of the most compelling and creative figures in the world of popular culture. Through these diaries we see Love’s accomplishments, her mistakes, her history, and her bright future in a whole new light. From her upbringing in Oregon through her years living in Japan, New Zealand, and London, from her career highs with Hole and as a Hollywood leading lady to her personal heartbreak and struggle, Dirty Blonde is Love laid bare—a wholly fascinating portrait of a fierce and insightful woman with an unblinking worldview and a determination to express herself no matter the cost.
Customer Reviews:
Its good, but... .......2007-05-08
Its good, but not as good as I thought it would be...
It is exacally her journal pages, pictures & scribbles. And you can't read some of it because she has messy hand writing, but what you can is pretty interesting - she is very intelligent.
2 things I didnt like:
1; is they added some things to make it look more like a journal. ie- taped pages in, burn holes, cigarette butts. At first its nothing but i really got annoyed when they put cigarette butts on the page because they wouldn't have stayed in her book this entire time. And if they some how did, they wouldnt be all 3D and "perfect" as they were.
2; its interesting, but not as interesting as i thought. its more of her feelings & thoughts than what she did or who she was with or saw. She never mentions Billy for the pumpkins, but she posted a news paper clipping...
Lots of song lyrics, thoughts, feelings but nothing thats made my jaw drop yet...
I would recommend you buy this second hand from eBay or a book store..
Dirty Blonde .......2007-04-11
Good Quality. Not as good as I had thought it would be. Too "scrap booky". I thought it was going to be an autobiography.
A triumph of minutiae..........2007-03-25
Courtney Love's "diaries", despite a lack of real substance for the sake of design, is a disarming scrapbook which may have the power to inspire the artistic and creative capabilities in others (whether that was the intention or not, we'll never know). Any passionate fan--after sifting through the poems and the diary entries, snapshots and club advertisements--may be inclined to write a poem of his or her own, or put on an old record and leaf through letters kept from the past. I for one felt a studied contrast between the book and the Courtney Love I thought I knew (there's very little anger here, and feminist empowerment without the usual sting of retribution). It is, at once, like a day-old glass of champagne: rich, provocative, glossy, and yet without fizzle. Love slathers the pages with juvenalia, some bad taste from her '80's club years (though not from the perspective of a wizened twentysomething), funny asides (as a pre-teen, she wanted to be Coco Rodriguez, Mouseketeer!), candid pictures of deceased husband Kurt Cobain and Love with daughter Frances, scrawled poems with lines going up and down the page, doodles (some visually arresting), and several revealing attributes (for instance, Love hates to kiss 'n tell, and she admires others who feel the same, but although she doesn't gossip she does occasionally enjoy dropping names). It's an intriguing, meandering, windy, romantic run-through of a rock icon's spotty career. It can be read for what it is or it may be completely misconstrued (Love is used to be misunderstood). It can be viewed as an inspirational tomb, a signpost of the times, or as complete bulls***t. B-
essential.......2007-03-18
if you're a courtney love fan, you have to have this book. if you're not a courtney love fan, you have to have this book. it's that great. also, it has the best cover of any rock and roll book ever printed.
Dificult.......2007-03-09
Its a nice book, specially if you are a big fan of CL or if you are curious about her life. It is a very difficult book to read because it all comes written by her own hand, and being honest, she does not have nice handwritting. But its intresting when you get use to her handwritting.

Customer Reviews:
One heck of a trashy novel.......2007-09-15
I loved this book. I am the farthest thing on Earth from a "Bergdorf Blonde", but I laughed through the entire novel. It was a terrific and much-needed break. Plum Sykes is hilarious. It has nothing whatsoever to do with life as most of us know it. Not going to win any esteemed literary prizes, but does provide total escapism. The first fiction I've read in years.
Oh, please, you missed the point! LOVED it!.......2007-09-13
First of all anyone who did not understand that Bergdorf Blondes is a SATIRE, hello, totally missed the point! Look at Syke's credentials, for heaven sake. She's Oxford educated!
And it shows! It's well written. It's HILARIOUS! And it's a SPOOF! Plum Sykes knows her characters are "shallow". That's her point! I don't want to spoil the end for anyone who has not yet read this, but she's made it very clear through the character's dialogue, that some growth occurred. And, yes, there must be women who are living lives very similar to what Sykes is describing and Sykes is obviously well versed in that lifestyle. She's a contributing editor at Vogue, which would undoubtedly open some pretty nifty doors for her, wouldn't one imagine? Plus she lives on both sides of the pond, so she obviously writes with (vast) personal experience, and thank you, Plum, for the peek into the minds of women (and men) we will probably never actually have great access to. So that's a treat in and of itself. But if you don't see the intelligent plotting and absolutely riotous poking FUN she's indulging in, well, I am sorry for you. Try again! This was a joy from start to finish!
Thanks, Plum!
TERRIBLE!!!!!.......2007-08-20
This book was very dumb. I started reading and the book was okay. I kept reading thinking it would get better, and then it was insulting. The main character attempts suicide and it is laughed off as something that she would do on anyday. It wasnt even interesting chick lit. Terrible, do not waste your time or money.
No depth.......2007-08-20
It is very funny in several parts but the fact that the narator never changed, kept falling for the same guys and got the great guy in the end disinterested me. She didn't deserve him, she didn't make you be on her side. The book was missing something deeper, we didn't get to get to know the character's true feeling. Was really superficial but i guess that was the point.
What a disappointment!.......2007-08-06
I am a big fan of chick lit, so I was excited to read this much-hyped book. What mindless dribble! I read the first 60 pages, then tossed it aside. Absolutely no substance. Bergdorf Blondes was so not the fun, summer read I had hoped it would be.

It's out there.......2007-07-19
I bought it at Borders two days ago. So far, it's quite interesting although I think some people have a beef with poor little Dolly. Like her sister, Stella! LOL Dolly's autobiography was very funny. I don't know if this one will be as humorous. So far, the author is basically just referencing things she said in her book. But in this tome, we do get to hear what others think about her rather than simply what she thinks about herself. Bad thing is we won't really know if their comments are fair. Oh, well! That's show biz! It shouldn't hurt Dolly's bank account too much. She is, after all, not a dummy. I'll come back with my final comments when I'm done. I know you can't wait for that.
Let's not dis Dolly on this! But Amazon - where is this book??.......2007-07-15
I'm giving this 5 stars because I am sure it's a good book. I just wish Amazon would figure out how to get it to us!! Let's not take out our frustration on Dolly or the author Stephen Miller. I too have ordered this long ago, only to get "out of stock" or "unavailable" notices from Amazon. Come on Amazon! Where is this book??

Book Description
Vanity Fair called this intensely erotic story of a young woman's sexual and psychological odyssey "a provocative tour through the dark side." Jesse, a beautiful twenty-nine-year-old, is adrift in San Francisco's demimonde of sexually ambiguous, bourbon-drinking, drug-taking outsiders. While desperately trying to sustain a connection with her bisexual boyfriend in a world of confused and forbidden desire, she becomes the caretaker of and confidante to Madame Pig, a besotted, grotesque recluse. Jesse also falls into a dangerous relationship with Madison, Pig's daughter or lover or both, who uses others' desires for her own purposes, hurtling herself and Jesse beyond all boundaries. With Suicide Blonde, Darcey Steinke delves into themes of identity and time, as well as the common - and now tainted - language of sexuality.

Suicide Blonde.......2007-05-23
This book was a good guilty pleasure. It really wasn't about suicide at all, which is what I was expecting. I would only read this book once.
DREARY BUT WORTH READING.......2006-12-14
This is not the sort of book I ordinarily read, but one reason to read is to see into the minds of authors and characters that are completely different from oneself. So I read Suicide Blonde. The book is just as pessimistic and depressing as the title suggests. While the book does not provide insight into why the characters are so emotionally messed up, this is perhaps because it is written in the first person, and the main character seems to have no understanding of herself. She does, on the other hand, sometimes say things that are intriguing and make one stop and think, such as: "What is love but nostalgia for someone's history?" I shall not give anymore of these pithy statements away, as they are what makes reading the book worthwhile. But despite these little gems, the author presents a view of life and people I do not care to ever encounter again.
(Peter Payne, Author of CAPTAIN CALIFORNIA BATTLES THE BEELZEBUBIAN BEASTS OF THE BIBLE)
Blonde a Bomb.......2006-04-23
Not for nothing, but I thought this book sucked. Maybe I'm not as deeply troubled as the people who could identify with its character I thought this book was very very wordy and didn't say a whole lot of anything! It is a perverse sex book hidden behind some profound meaning of ourselves? I don't think so. It would be easier to just go and rent a triple xxx film and get your jollies. I found the writing to be eratic and by the end of the book I felt like I just finished one big run on sentence. I was angry I wasted my time!
Suicide Blonde .......2005-12-08
This book will be a big help for you, if you are in love with someone who doesnot love you back.
Poetic Prose.......2005-11-26
This book will appeal to people who really get into poetic prose. The story is pretty dark, but it's pretty involving. I like this book the best out of her others (I'd rank "Jesus Saves" second) and I'd read it for a third time. I love the way she writes!

Not impressed..........2007-08-10
This book was pretty ridiculous. I find Harper's character very unbelievable and contradictory. After specifically stating that she is not one to whine in the first part of the book, Harper spends THE REST OF THE BOOK WHINING! Also, there is no way that she would have gotten all googly-eyed over Matt when all he said was that he liked her for who she was not despite it in her living room, after she had spent so much time being so suspicious of him, and then starting the deluded thoughts of dating and falling in love the next morning! And she was such a b**** to Sean, if I were him, I would have told Molly to f off. And, no 35-year-old blonde woman says like and acts like a teenager like that, no matter how ditzy she is. I have never met a guy in my life who could put up with that level of idiocy. Plus, how is a 35-year-old going to pull off that she is an NBA dancer? No one would believe that for a second. Harper is also really immature, which I find hard to believe from a woman who is partner at a law firm. Despite a few funny parts, the whole book was very unbelievable, especially Harper's character who was kind yet a total snob, funny yet without a sense of humor, and a very book-smart person, yet a total idiot when it comes to life. Don't waste your time.
Hated Harper.......2007-07-02
Ok, that's it. I started this book liking it but around the time when the plumber comes to her apt, I threw in the towel. She is so stuck up and annoying. The dates as a dumb blonde were sort of funny but I think the use of the word "like" was a little overdone. You can be a dumb blonde without having to say the word "like" every two seconds. And she complains about having no man but when she goes to her firm dinner at the beginning and Matt treats her really nice and compliments her, she just acts ungrateful and snobby. I found her too annoying to finish this book. I know it's just fiction but I just couldn't deal with Harper's "theory" anymore!!
Highly recommended!.......2007-06-26
Having being both a brunette and a blonde at points in my life I can relate to "The Blonde Theory". I found this book very enjoyable. It kept my attention and made me laugh on serveral occasions. Such a great chic lit book and highly recommended!!
Very Enjoyable!.......2007-06-26
I picked this up because of its title and it sounded like a fun read. Since I have brown hair, I really wanted to know what the author meant by "The Blonde Theory". I loved her last book "How to Sleep with a Movie Star" and had a feeling I would enjoy this one as well.
This was a great read, and I could barely put it down and I don't like to read that much. Very enjoyable - awesome characters - Can't wait for Harmel's next book! She's off to a great start with her writing career! I know she will go far..
Sooooo Predictable!.......2007-06-24
I didn't enjoy this book. Harper Roberts is just plain annoying, stubborn, egotistical and hard to get along with! I don't like reading books where I can tell what's going to happen two-thirds of the way through. I forced myself to finish it.
