Book Description
The practice of meditation takes us on a fabulous journey into the gap between our thoughts, where all the advantages of a more peaceful, stress-free, healthy, and fatigue-free life are available, but which are simply side benefits. The paramount reason for daily meditation is to get into the gap between our thoughts, and make conscious contact with the creative energy of life itself. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains the soul-nourishing meditation technique for making conscious contact with God, which the ancient masters have told us about.
You have the potential to be an instrument of the highest good for all concerned and to be a literal miracle worker in your own life. No person, government, or religion can legitimately claim to do this for you. âIn fact,â says Dr. Dyer, âI agree with Carl Jung who said, âOne of the main functions of formalized religion is to protect people against a direct experience of God.’â When you master getting into the gap and staying there for prolonged segments of meditation, and experience what you bring back to the material world, you will know your answer to the question: âWhy meditate?â

many people dont like to see others doing well in this world, wayne is one of those who just keep coming up with "great stuff" in a very simplistic manner....
The book is simple, the CD is fabulous..... its the most calming ever
This is a nice meditation.......2007-08-01
I love Dr. Wayne Dyer's work. He is so helpful and full of insite. I love this meditation book, and have found it very helpful. I love the book and CD combo. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that, at first, his meditation, was to me, a bit disruptive. When you try to meditate with him, it took me a time or too to get completely comfortable with his voice and allow it to be relaxing to me as well, but it wasn't that big of deal, just different.
I almost gave this five stars, and maybe it deserves that instead of the four I attributed to it, because I have found it a very helpful meditation (especially because I've never meditated before - it's great for beginners).
WONDERFUL FO R MEDITATION! SOOTHING AND RELAXING!.......2007-06-21
A great mediation CD, which is why I bought this on Amazon in the first place. I own about 7 CD's by Dr. Dyer and all are wonderful. His soothing voice and thoughts are so helpful to change negative thinking into positive thinking! I would suggest Dr. Dyer's CD's, this one or any of his CD's to anyone wanting to make a positive change in their life!
CD helped me get started with meditation.......2007-06-15
Very thankful for the enclosed CD. If you have trouble getting your mind quiet during meditation this will be very usefull to you.

It is December 1999, the dawn of the millennium, and a team of international scientists is poised for the most fantastic adventure in human history. After years of scanning the galaxy for signs of somebody or something else, this team believes they've found a message from an intelligent source--and they travel deep into space to meet it. Pulitzer Prize winner Carl Sagan injects Contact, his prophetic adventure story, with scientific details that make it utterly believable. It is a Cold War era novel that parlays the nuclear paranoia of the time into exquisitely wrought tension among the various countries involved. Sagan meditates on science, religion, and government--the elements that define society--and looks to their impact on and role in the future. His ability to pack an exciting read with such rich content is an unusual talent that makes Contact a modern sci-fi classic.

2001; A Space Odyssey, It is not........2007-09-09
I read this book in college and was not all that impressed with it. It is way too preachy and seems to suggest that science holds the key to mankind's future (which is not true at all). The human characters are like cardboard cut outs and the overload of science makes one fall asleep.
No wonder, the movie was long and boring because the book was boring.
slow story movt & irrelevant passages.......2007-08-24
With all due respect for the late Mr Sagan, he might be a brilliant astronomer but he was definitely not a good story teller for several reasons:
1. Throughout the book, there're plenty passages which are redundant & irrelevant to the story development. For example, I found that you can actually skip the whole Ch 10 (and Ch 17 too) without affecting the story development at all - which is not a good thing for a fiction.
2. Perhaps also due to the above, the story movt is very slow. At times it gives me the feeling that the author does not know how the story should progress, so every other 2 or 3 pages, he repeated & recapitulated the then situation of the story.
Actually the idea of the story was great, but sadly it's a waste for the idea has not been developed into an attractive story. I like the movie but not the book.
PS for a debate of science vs religion, I would recommend "Angels & Demons" by Dan Brown. The outline of ideas & controversy is far clearer than "Contact".
Disappointing.......2007-08-08
It has a lot of interesting ideas, and I would say that it's worth looking into.
However:
There's a hell of a lot of filler, and it's in all of the wrong places; the author tends to exhaustively detail irrelevant side-topics while only barely touching major plot devices. Worse still (to me, at least), the language is extremely dry. The characters are very bland and one-dimensional, not so much people as they are idealized Shakespearean characters that go on long soliloquies about how very beautiful caterpillars are.
I'm about halfway through, and I'll finish it, but I can safely say that it's not for me.
height, width & depth - breath taking.......2007-07-07
Different people want different qualities in characters, hence not all characters are universally great. In my universe, the characters of Contact are human, therefore, they are good or even beyond that. I'll take a stab and say they're great not because for what they believe, but for how they think, interact and apply. Fictional characters with tremendous height.
The sheer width of the plot slaps you across the face again and again. An alien signal contacts earth on a direct line pretty much saying, "We know you're there. Here's our calling card. Look us up sometime." It's not as easy as that, but takes great effort to 1) find the signal, 2) decode the signal, 3) pick up the phone and 4) call them back. Amongst these things to do, they need to find two trillion Dollars, too. The effort in the face of obstacles - such width.
Finally, the depth of philosophizing religion is dramatic. It's not simply "Is there a God?" That would be hokey. One has to read more in depth to the subject, understand the arguments (which many people lack the educated ability to do), to see and understand both sides to the argument (which even less people retain the ability to do) and finally appreciate the sincerity of both sides.
Simple, isn't it? Well, some people start yelling "Blasphemy!" and "I love God!" until the point where they forget it's just a book. Read it, appreciate it, discuss it with others with different views... and proceed to appreciate life.
A Highly Recommended Read.......2007-06-14
There are not a lot of books that I read from cover to cover without setting down for a break now and then. But this is one of them. I was enthralled with this book from word one and loved every word of it.
If you have seen the movie, yes, there are some differences. Different good? Different bad? I don't know, I think some will like the book better and others the movie. I thought they were equally fantastic and told best by their medium of communication.
The basic plot remains unchanged. Earth realizes that man is not alone when messages from Vega start appearing. Using the "language" of mathematics it is easy to tell that this is not random noise from the universe (an echo of the big bang maybe?) but a message from an intelligent life form from outer-space. And within the basic message is another message, instructions on how to build a machine. What does the machine do? How do Earthlings respond to the message? How does religion become effected by the messages and the realization that we are not alone?
There are two wonderful things I really like about this story, both well portrayed in the movie and the book. The first is the message. If aliens were to communicate with us, how would they best do it. I love how easily Carl Sagan figures it out. We all have a common language no matter which corner of the universe you are from: mathematics. Everything is mathematics that people after the Renaissance could figure out... all that is required is a bit of technology to pick up the message. In the book, mathematics plays a bigger role especially at the end of the story when the aliens find a message within pi (you know, 3.1415....). Carl Sagan shares with us the message, which actually made me laugh. One because it was rather creative. But two because it probably isn't too far off of what Douglas Adams would have come up with. But I think it made the story interesting none-the-less.
The second is how this story is shown from the points of view of many peoples. How would religion react? Government? The skeptics? The believers? Many reactions are shown by various groups and I appreciated the depth of characters that are in this book and even shown in the movie.
If you are looking for a good read, pick this up. It isn't just a good story, it is also told very well by the author. If you liked the movie then you've most definitely got to give this book a go. You won't be disappointed.

Not woth the $.......2007-05-22
The author of this book is a paranoid man with delusions of grandeur. Their books seem to spend more time talking about how amazing he is (making such claims as being able to levitate and summon ufo's on a whim) and doesn't actually give any real evidence. You are better off looking for interesting evidence with a google search, this book is not worth the money.
Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications.......2007-05-14
There is truth here which must be heard so all peoples will benefit.
I have been to a Greer "training".......2007-05-05
Like this book, the training was full of fantasy and imagination. Unlike this book, it was not full of extra-terrestial experiences. Rather, for me, the training was full of social-psychological phenomena. Some would call it "group think."
Greer, a dominating personality fascinated as much with himself, his thoughts and imagination as he is with ETs, seems to have a core group of followers, a majority of whom are single women. They are his resident "experts" at these trainings and report seeing what Greer suggests they will see. (We call it "priming" the crowd.) The group dynamics are incredible! Some of these women observe with their eyes shut or tightly "squinting" and report what they have seen as reality -- always ETs or avatars, of course. Greer approves and calls them experienced observers. Others, who see nothing, are told to stick with it and as they believe and practice, they, too will see. (Sort of like, if you read enough, believe enough, you will see Jesus.)
If you like science fantasy, this book could be entertaining though frustrating because of the remarkably juvenile, repetitious writing style. If you want facts, go elsewhere.
All the stars in our Galaxy to you, Mr Greer. You have achieved wonders........2007-05-04
Thank you for this book and all the enthusiasm and love you put into it. Thank you for opening my eyes and taking my fears away and doing the same for lots of others. Thank you for all your brave hard work. Every bit of your effort is opening doors to great miracles, waiting for too long to happen.
With admiration, Gabriela.
Review of "Exterrestrial Contact" by Steven Greer, M.D........2007-02-18
Let's start with the bottom line: This book should be taken very seriously.
Preamble: There are certain philosophical and moral foundations for investigations of reality, whether conventional or "far out." 1. An investigation should attempt to gather all of the facts that are pertinent to the subject. Leaving out essential facts can lead to erroneous conclusions. 2. The anlaysis of facts and evidence should be as thorough, complete, and valid as humanly possible. 3. The investigators should hold to an attitude of perfect impartiality; any bias is scientifically immoral. Even more immoral is deliberate concealment and lying to support a hidden agenda. 4. Investigators must often exhibit considerable courage to face and overcome opposition from those who oppose new facts, concepts, and conclusions.
How does Dr. Greer's investigation stack up with these principles? 1. The investigation has been extremely thorough, with an enormous body of evidence gathered. 2. The analysis of this evidence seems to be carefully done and valid. 3. No bias is evident in the investigator. In constrast, Dr. Greer has uncovered not only bias, but deliberate obstruction of the truth among many of the individuals and agencies investigated. 4. Dr.Greer has displayed a great deal of courage in confronting opposition to his totally justified right to investigate an important phenomenon.
In my opinion, Dr. Greer has reached a correct conclusion that there exists a "shadow government" that is more powerful than the visible one, and which has the money and resources to control information and suppress new technology in support of its own goals.
Book Description
Both students and instructors find this popular introductory text easy to use. The grammar lessons are presented in a logical sequence with constant vocabulary reinforcement and practice of the four skillslistening, reading, writing, and speaking. In addition, Contacts meets the five "Cs" of the national standards for foreign languagesculture, connections, comparison, communities, and communicationwhich are denoted by icons when they appear in the text.
Grammar is presented in 33 manageable lessons, combined with Aperçus culturels (cultural readings) in English for the first 6 Leçons and in French after Units 5, 7, and 9. Communication sections at the end of each lesson give students instructions in English for task-oriented, paired activities.
- Web icons next to the Notes culturelles features direct students to related sites. A new activity then asks them to compare some aspect of the culture to their own experiences.
- Web icons with the Vivre en France feature direct students to the text-specific web site for a research activity related to the unit. This section has also been added to the Workbook.

C'est Magnifique!.......2007-01-07
This was a required text for my college French I and French II course. I have to say that this was an excellent book, possibly one of the best French textbooks I've ever used. The format is nice and clean, and overall everything from vocabulary, culture, and grammar was easy (and fun) to understand and follow. Even though the practice sets were inconsistant (some times they were either too easy, too hard, or just too confusing), overall Contacts is an excellent textbook for those who're beginning French learners, and for those who just want to review before going into the intermediate level. I loved this book so much that I decided to keep it instead of selling it back to my college book store. ^_^
great review book, good for hw, GREAT value.......2006-03-26
I bought this b/c I needed it to go along with my French 102 texbook, MUCH cheaper than buying it thru my university or with the text. Very good to help students review material. I would definitely recommend to others who wish to learn french (with the text of course).
Best Value Ever.......2005-10-03
This book is one of the best looking used items I have ever purchased. I was amazed that I got such a beautiful book for such a great price. The seller was prompt in sending it also.
An Excellent Guide to Introductory French.......2005-08-18
This book was used in my French 101 and 102 classes: Introductory French 1 and 2. I really liked it. Although its strength is grammar and vocabulary, it also teaches some French cultures in every chapter. You can learn listening with audio-CDs. But learning speaking is very hard if you self-study (based on my experience). I utilized the workbook and audio-tapes fully. They were very helpful tools to learn. A great collegiate introductory French book!
Frustrating........2004-05-09
Ditto "ashamed" previous. The workbook is difficult to use, and filled with errors. The tapes are frustrating and uneven, switching from too-difficult narratives to too-easy exercises. I've been through 18 chapters and 9 tapes, and can't speak. The textbook itself is better than the workbook and tapes. It is heavy on grammar and verb conjugation.

Call Center Technology Demystified clarifies the sometimes complex and often confusing array of technologies that enable call center success. This book will lead you through the labyrinth of customer contact technology jargon, common misperceptions and marketing hype to help you align technology with business needs and optimize your technology investments.

This book is okay.......2007-02-10
I am sure there are better books on call centers. This book was only okay. If you are just trying to learn the terminology, then this book probably isn't a bad choice for you.
Technology Demystified and Explained.......2003-11-17
One of the best call center books on the market, Call Center Technology Demystified gives a practical explanation of call center technologies in language a non-techie person can understand. We have found it valuable in our call center in helping our management team understand what to purchase and how to get the most out of their technology investment. Good work!
Essential book for Contact Center leaders!.......2003-03-01
I have what I feel is a pretty extensive contact center reference library that I have accumulated over the past 15 years, ranging from call center design, CRM, CTI, speech recognition, benchmarking, telecom, etc. By far, the Call Center Technology Demystified book is THE book that I find myself referring to most often. Besides the holistic view of the contact center technologies, I have found the sections on Building a Customer Contact Technology Strategy and Information and Applications Bring CRM Strategies to Life sections to be valuable every day, every project. Great diagrams and charts add tremendous value to the clear and concise writing. This is also a book that will stand the test of time; the principles surrounding business drivers and the realistic expectations regarding CRM will provide value to contact center strategists for many years.
Practical guide to call center technology.......2002-12-27
I have always been impressed with the fact that Lori and Dave view call center technology (and call centers in general) from a strategic viewpoint. Everything they do starts with asking overall business strategy questions. Call Center technology will only really be effective if it supports the overall business objectives. This is how Lori and Dave approach their consulting work, the seminars they conduct and how they approached writing this book. One of the great practical elements to this book, in each chapter there are numerous tables summarizing the strengths/weaknesses, pro/con, advantages/limitations for numerous elements of call center technology. I found these tables to be very useful, not only as a synopsis of what they just got done saying but also as a tool for a quick reference and a framework in formulating your decision making process. They also give examples of what the technology vendors will say about the technology so you as the technology buyer have a much better idea of how the vendors view and approach the technologies they are trying to sell you.
Overall, this book is a great value for your money. You should be able to make better call center technology decisions after reading and using this book. This book is very practical and one you will want to reference over and over again.
Clear, Compelling, Insightful.......2002-11-28
"Call Center Technology Demystified" is exactly that. Bocklund and Bengtson deliver concrete advice about a rapidly changing environment, and provide a framework for thinking about and planning for technology change well into the future. This book is packed with intelligent analysis, yet is easy to read with graphics, good layout, and a refreshingly light tone. Their solid examples and insights, based on their consulting work with Vanguard Communications, really set this book apart. This isn't academic theory; this is what happens in the trenches. Excellent work!
Book Description
For four hundred years--from the first Spanish assaults against the Arawak people of Hispaniola in the 1490s to the U.S. Army's massacre of Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee in the 1890s--the indigenous inhabitants of North and South America endured an unending firestorm of violence. During that time the native population of the Western Hemisphere declined by as many as 100 million people. Indeed, as historian David E. Stannard argues in this stunning new book, the European and white American destruction of the native peoples of the Americas was the most massive act of genocide in the history of the world. Stannard begins with a portrait of the enormous richness and diversity of life in the Americas prior to Columbus's fateful voyage in 1492. He then follows the path of genocide from the Indies to Mexico and Central and South America, then north to Florida, Virginia, and New England, and finally out across the Great Plains and Southwest to California and the North Pacific Coast. Stannard reveals that wherever Europeans or white Americans went, the native people were caught between imported plagues and barbarous atrocities, typically resulting in the annihilation of 95 percent of their populations. What kind of people, he asks, do such horrendous things to others? His highly provocative answer: Christians. Digging deeply into ancient European and Christian attitudes toward sex, race, and war, he finds the cultural ground well prepared by the end of the Middle Ages for the centuries-long genocide campaign that Europeans and their descendants launched--and in places continue to wage--against the New World's original inhabitants. Advancing a thesis that is sure to create much controversy, Stannard contends that the perpetrators of the American Holocaust drew on the same ideological wellspring as did the later architects of the Nazi Holocaust. It is an ideology that remains dangerously alive today, he adds, and one that in recent years has surfaced in American justifications for large-scale military intervention in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. At once sweeping in scope and meticulously detailed, American Holocaust is a work of impassioned scholarship that is certain to ignite intense historical and moral debate.

In answer to conservative pseudointellectuals..........2007-09-24
All of the big words and "references" in the world won't change history for you, unfortunately. I notice that among the people who did not like this book, they all pretty much said the same thing: That Stannard didn't paint an accurate picture of the natives of the western hemisphere. That he didn't acknowledge cannabalism (he did), that he didn't acknowledge human sacrifice (he did - to the tune of 20,000 per year in the Inca capital), and that he didn't acknowledge inter-tribal warfare and cruelty (he most certainly did). One of the reasons I liked this book so much was its extensive reference section (with explanations as to most of the references, so if you have any questions about something...LOOK IT UP). It'd do you all some good, rather than blindly naysaying whatever doesn't fit your racist little mold. Does it really MATTER whether or not native peoples practiced unsavory rituals? They're all dead.
In any case, the book was superb and whatever your views are regarding the native peoples mentioned in the book, one point remains irrefutable: They were exterminated. It was deliberate. It was planned, sanctioned, supported, and financed by every exploratory realm in Europe and by the American government throughout it's short and brutal history. You all know it.
This is one of the most important books that you will ever read in your entire life.......2007-04-29
It is amazing that we live in a country that was built upon holocaust but we yet we are in complete denial. And not just the U.S., the entire Americas. This book discloses the atrocities committed by the Spaniards and and other Europeans. It also dispels the myth that prior to the arrival of Columbus, America was nothing more than open prairie lands. And it reveals that the so-called new world was heavily populated before the mosting devasting and the largest genocide committed in history. It does more than reveal the diseases that the Spaniards and other Europeans brought to the new world. It uncovers the enslavement and intentional massacres of countless natives of the new world. A sad thing about this book is that those who need to read this book most (the ones in denial), will probably never read this book and continue to perpetuate the lie that no holocaust or genocide was ever committed in the Americas by the Spaniards and other Europeans. If you only read one book over the next decade, this should be it.
Simplisitc and sensationalistic.......2007-03-26
Almost every time someone uses the word 'holocaust' when they are not referring to the actual Holocaust between 1939 and 1945, they use it in an incorrect and sensationalistic manner, comparing the incomparible. This is no exception. It is true that millions of people died following the arrival of Europeans in the New World in 1492. However 90% of them died from Disease. This was an extraordinary number, but there is a difference between planning to murder so many and having them die for biological reasons(not being immune to disease). Indeed many of even the most cynical Spaniards were dismayed that the Indians were dying, either because they could no longer be used as slaves or because they could no longer be enslaved. It is rediculous to pretend that this was a 'holocaust' unless the black Plague that swept Europe in the 13th-14th centuries was also a holocuast.
In addition this book accuses the Europeans of 'racism' which is a patent lie. Race did not propell Europeans across the seas in 1492 and the years afterword. It is true that Europeans looked different than the indigenous people of the New World, but it is not true that this was what motivated colonization, ensalvement, war or exploitation.
Just as the rise of most empires, such as the Chinese or Ottoman, are not accused of being tied up in racism, it is comical to pretend that men like Columbus had any concept of the 19th century ideas of race. The notions are neither found in thier writings or documents and that is why none are quoted in this book. In fact many Spaniards defended the Indians, such as Bartholemew De Las Casas, but all those people are conveniently ignored here. Not a suprise.

Crimes of Aggression and Occupation Revealed.......2007-03-18
David Stannard reveals the awful truth of Aggression and Occupation, misnamed "Discovery" and "Settlement," in the Americas. Readers who, in the names of education and religion, have been exposed to five centuries of revisionist history should be horrified at the truth. If they aren't, it will be a testament to the effectiveness of the church, school and university propaganda to which they have been exposed. The horrors of other holocausts are not excused by recognition that the holcaust in the Americas, perpetrated by European Christians against ancient civilizations were the most horrible in the history of mankind. They continue to this day.
THE SINGLE FINEST AND MOST ESSENTIAL BOOK OF THE AGE .......2006-06-06
A masterpiece of scholarship and analysis.
This book is nothing less than the single most important work that you will ever read.
Our entire culture is built on Holocaust Denial while those most responsible for this abnesia drape themselves in the flag of holocaust memorialism but have little honesty in their true agenda. An agenda that allows in North America alone for there to be at least 50 Holocaust memorials, museums and monuments...
only problem is they are ALL about the Holocaust that happened in Europe and NOT about the colossal extermination that took place where they live. It is not only denial on the part of the nations of the Americas and Europe but those responsible for this Holocaust Denial in relation to Indian America insist on an image of being the world's caretakers of holocaust memory. What a bloody audacity.
Why do we let the Spanish off the hook so lightly? Why is there no demand for Spain to make its Mea Culpa? Why is there no AMERICAS HOLOCAUST memorial in Madrid, Washington, London and Ottawa ?
This brilliant book re-addresses the imbalance.
POST SCRIPT....
There is a reviewer further down who uses the monica of
"history buff" who rejects the value and integrity of this work. In fact he utterly insults Mr Stannard and his thesis.
So I thought I would check out his other reviews...oh boy!
One of the remarks he makes in a book claiming that Saddam was behind 9/11 goes "But it is very difficult to argue with the facts that were available to the agencies which pointed to a direct link between Saddam and Al Qaeda." This example of his world view is the mild end of it. So people consider the character of the self-described "history buff" who rejects Stannard's brilliant thesis on the Holocaust in the Americas.
The reviewer "history buff" has a world view that comes straight out of the 1950's HUAC committee (he associates all Left wing thought with the Soviet Union not knowing that the Bolshevik regime prohibited the platform of the revolution and that its first victims were in fact the most sincere and dedicated Left revolutionaries. Clearly he has never read the finest autobiography in the history of English language autobiography; Emma Goldman's LIVING MY LIFE volume 1 and volume 2. The latter volume includes a first hand account of the destruction NOT construction of socialism by Lenin and his cohorts ).

Buyer Beware.......2007-08-14
I find it more than a little disingenuous that the author of this book is Martin Sussman out of Cambridge, Mass., and that one of the early reviewers of this book, as you'll see below, is "M. Sussman" from Massachussettes. "M. Sussman" refers to the author, Marvin Sussman, in the third person. "M" gives the book 5 stars but never reveals himself as the author or even a relative. That, in itself, suggests to me that Mr. Sussman didn't expect people to get the type of results that would have generated hundreds of genuine, enthusiastic reviews. I doubt J.K. Rowling or John Grisham review their own books or have relatives do so. It's surprising this book has so few reviews since a visit to Sussman's website will inform you that he's been teaching this method since the 1970's. If it worked, would there not be a euphoric following by now instead of a mere 13 reviews of a book published in 1998 when that book is supposedly providing dramatic improvement in eyesight?
I'm like a lot of you - I'd love to find a natural method to improve my eyesight. That's why I'm on the computer tonight researching the topic. I want eye exercises to be the answer as much as the next person but I will proceed with caution because I wonder where the actual satisfied customers are hiding themselves. Perhaps they can't see to type.
Another interesting way to investigate this is to look at "M. Sussman's" other reviews - as of today there is just one other one and it is for a book called "The Da Vinci Method - Break Out and Express Your Fire". Sussman begins his review by saying, "I've been a successful entrepreneur for 30 years. What I like about the DaVinci Method is that it teaches you how to tap in to your instincts and enthusiasm and helps you build your own inner sense of knowing what the best move is." I find it interesting that his self-image is that of a "successful entrepreneur" and not an innovative scientist who has restored the eyesight of thousands. Why does he have to tap into an "inner sense of knowing what the best MOVE is" instead of just holding out a product that works. I wonder if he's not just another slick salesman marketing hope.
Quackery.......2007-06-16
According to their website, "No formal research studies have been done yet on the See Clearly Method." The See Clearly method claims are qualified with "may" and "it depends" and supported by testimonials preceded by the disclaimer "Results not typical" and "individual results will vary."
This is pseudoscience. Save your money.
The Program for Better Vision.......2007-05-13
This is the most informative book I have seen on eye care and improvement. I notice an improvement in 4 weeks, but have much further to go.
This didn't work for me.......2007-04-27
I have only given this book two stars not because it isn't a good book but the bottom line is that it didn't work for me. The book itself was easy to follow and doing the exercise was fun, however after twelve weeks of visualising, exercises and eating the right nutrients i have had no improvement in my eyesight. I wanted to leave this review to give more of a balanced argument for anyone thinking of buying this book as i have not seen any negative testimonies.
Thorough and Clear.......2005-08-01
The information is presented in a very clear, well-organized, and succinct way. The instructions for the exercises are very clear and thorough. I especially like the "What to Watch For" and "Notes" sections for each exercise. I feel like it's hard not to do these exercises correctly with all the notes and observations the author adds. The testimonials at the beginning and the introductory chapters really gave me hope and enthusiasm in this program. I just started the program, but I feel this book will have been valuable even if I do not see improvement in the "First Stage" of the program.
The "First Stage" is only 8 weeks, with a simple exercise for each day. Eight weeks is quite a short time considering how long it took for some of our vision to have deteriorated this much. The exercises taught seem like they should be helpful in the prevention of my worsening nearsightedness, if not improvement.
I read through the non-exercises part of this book quickly--its content is all relevant. It seems helpful to read through the exercises before starting because some may require other materials, such as a fusion string for the first exercise or a voice recorder for the visualization exercise later on. The schedule asks that you follow it strictly (6 days a week with the 7th day as a rest day) so I'd rather not discover that I'm missing materials on the day for a certain exercise.
I wish the materials were either included in the book or that we were warned that it might be helpful to order the materials from The Cambridge Institute for Better Vision. The materials are easy to make or find, though--it's just a "tad" more trouble.

If You're Jumping Ship from ACT!, this is for you ! .......2007-08-28
Lon Ornstein might have co-authored a Dummies' book, but he's no dummy. His company is a well-known third-party developer of CRM enhancments - first with the ACT! product line and now Outlook 2007/BCM. Like all Dummies' books, this one is easy to read and understand, and gets right to the "meat" of using BCM. Highly recommended if you're trying to make the switch from ACT!, or if you need to extend the capabilities of Outlook 2007 for a small-midsize business.

Customer Reviews:
great for newbies as well as those with experience in the industry.......2007-09-23
I have been in the call center industry for some time and I find that you can't know it all, especially if you are in a large call center where roles are very specific. This book has help me understand the things that others do and has helped me to advance into other areas. The book is well laid out and explains everything fairly well, but not perfect. The book also gets right to the point of data is important to gather and how to best illustrate that data in a spreadsheet or chart. It has really helped me to better organize my KPI's and focus on just a few important pieces of data instead of having to sift through piles of numbers. This book has also helped me to become better at workforce management strategies and forecasting. Two areas I had little familiarity with. This book will certainly bring you up to speed quickly. Even after reading and applying everything in the book, I continue to reference it all the time.

Excellent!.......1999-12-07
I aquired this book as part of the price of tuition for an IEEE class on electrical contacts.
This is more of a collection of individual papers or topics than a text book. It is basically a continuation of Ragnar Holm's famous work.
If you are in the field of electrical contacts this is a book you can't live without!
