2 out of 5 stars I'd really expect better from Dr Weiss.......2007-08-09

While I have always been an avid fan of Brian Weiss' work, his "Mirrors of Time" marks an all time low for the good doctor, in my estimation. Although I'm never surprised by the countless folks who think nothing of putting such "loaded guns" in the hands of unsuspecting seekers, I would have expected better, given his legendary experience with opening other peoples emotional "Pandora's boxes." The very idea that past life regression should be undertaken without the help of a trained professional strikes me as simply foolhardy.

And before critics jump in my face and say "What about you? You never employed any professionals to uncover your own past life information!" let me just say that my case was entirely different. I never went looking to explore this area so I didn't see any need for help. Although in retrospect, had I to do it all over again, I would certainly seek out the help of someone like Dr. Weiss. Had I done that I'm sure the whole process could have been handled a lot faster and less painfully.

In my own case, I never spent one day in trance or on a therapist's couch. Everything I learned about my past lives was literally shoved down my throat by a very powerful spirit guide who was hell-bent on forcing me to confront my own karmic issues. From the very outset he orchestrated my life in such a way that almost everyone in my current life, friends, lovers, wives, business partners, were people who had played some pivotal role in my former incarnations and had now returned to help me resolve the karmic issues, whether I consciously wanted to or not. In short, I didn't have much choice.

My own process of discovery began on a warm spring day in 1975 when my third wife returned to our apartment from the pool where she had been sunbathing in her skimpy bikini. I could tell immediately she was not feeling well but she couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong. Almost without thinking I suggested she may have picked up some psychic garbage out at the pool due to her scant attire, so I suggested she relax, close her eyes and recite an 800-year-old Greek Orthodox prayer reputed to dispel evil and quieten the mind. Within moments she was suddenly plunged into a spontaneous psychic vision in which she saw a very old monk dressed in red robes standing to my right.

As soon as she described him I was struck by his similarity to what a previous psychic had referred to years earlier as my "very powerful spirit guide." But before I could speak of this she reported that my features were morphing, first into a Prussian General, then into a Mongolian Warlord from the time of Genghis Khan. Next she reported seeing an inextricably terrifying amorphous blob of grayish-white energy off to my left.

A few months later we decided to take a seminar in psychic healing given by legendary psychic healer Ben Bibb. Everyday after lunch Bibb would ask for a volunteer to stand on the stage so the class could observe the person's aura, which amounted to describing different colors, and everyday my wife asked me to volunteer and I refused. On the fourth day a thick fog covered the landscape, only to clear just as we arrived at class. My wife insisted I volunteer that day or she would never speak to me again.

During the aura reading exercise the entire class reported seeing everything she had seen months earlier, and in exactly the same order and detail. According to Bibb the monk in red robes was indeed my spirit guide, the Prussian and Mongolian were personas from two of my past lives, and the blob of energy was a "familiar spirit," an artificial being created during a past life of high psychic development. When asked what familiars were used for he said they were usually used as psychic spies, though he had also heard of people using them to recharge dead batteries. Everyone laughed and I walked off the stage.

That afternoon, Bibb conducted us through a very deep guided meditation in which I found myself back in Mongolia, abducting a young girl on horseback whom I recognized as my current wife. None of us spoke a word as we left at the end of class, all of us still being in a very quiet state. Getting into our car I put my key in the ignition but nothing happened. Looking at the dash I realized I had forgotten to turn off the headlights when the fog cleared. The battery was dead. Without speaking a word I closed my eyes and ordered my familiar to climb into the battery. Two minutes later I started the car and drove away.

For the next 25 years I was continuously plagued by spontaneous encounters with "psychics" who seemed bent on answering all the questions I was too reluctant to ask about the events of these two previous lives. As the evidence continued to mount I eventually discovered my own tragic role in Genghis Khan's conquests as his nephew Yegu, and my role in World War I as Germany's Chief of the General Staff. In time I began to realize how the karma connected with the tragic events of these prior lifetimes had in fact shaped both the events and the relationships of my current life.

After documenting all this in my autobiography I was even able to substantiate many of the events described through historical research. My only regret is that my Guide had to drag me "kicking and screaming" just to get me to listen. I really could have used Dr Weiss' help, but not his "Mirrors of Time."

3 out of 5 stars An intro to past live regression.......2007-06-19

I bought this book because a friend attended one of Brian Weiss' workshops where they did a powerful past life regression. I thought this book and CD would be comparable to it. It wasn't. The CD is short and is very rushed. Every time I do the CD, I never feel like I have enough time. I feel like I am being yanked away right when I am starting to gain something.

The book is quite short too. The pages are beautiful and relaxing. Its a good read and very helpful.

4 out of 5 stars great cd.......2007-02-01

I use the CD everyday and it has helped me learn a lot. If you're new to self-hypnosis, this is a great starting point. And if you're not, this is great place to learn a past-life regression technique. Brian Weiss seemed to have put a bit of extra fluff in this one, but over-all I like it.

Don't like it as much as the Meditation CD. Haven't felt any regression while listening to this. Does help me relax, though.

Book Description

This unique series of paintings takes the viewer on a graphic, visionary journey through the physical, metaphysical, and spiritual anatomy of the self. From anatomically correct rendering of the body systems, Grey moves to the spiritual/energetic systems with such images as "Universal Mind Lattice," envisioning the sacred and esoteric symbolism of the body and the forces that define its living field of energy.

Includes essays on the significance of Grey's work by Ken Wilber, the eminent transpersonal psychologist, and by the noted New York art critic, Carlo McCormick.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Excellent Artwork!!.......2007-05-07

This book is filled with incredible art by Alex Grey. The only problem with the book is the fact that it is listed on Amazon as a HARDBACK and it is not. This is no fault of the artist but Amazon should be sure to correctly list their products.

5 out of 5 stars Spectacular art and a tool for transformation............2007-04-25

Alex Grey's art is unique, provocative, visionary and striking. The anatomical detail, overall composition and beauty is uplifting. While this type of art may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is undeniably creative and powerful.

This book is based on a series of paintings that are approximately 6'0" tall. They were meant to be used as a mirror for an individual to experience different aspects of themselves. In other words, to serve as a lens for a different perspective on what it is to be human. In general, the book proceeds from an outline of the body made up of elements, through the skelton system, blood vessels, nerves, etc. What is unique is that it goes beyond this to subtle and causal realms based on the experience of Alex Gray and the testimony of various mystics. It is meant to evoke awareness of these more subtle dimensions and even in book form could be used for meditations.

This book also contains images of Jesus, the Boddhisattva of infinite compassion and other enlightened beings. Again, these are meant for contemplative experiences where you look for these energies in yourself as part of a contemplative practice. There are also some beautiful images of a couple kissing, making love, a small family, etc. These latter category of images are similar to the cover in that they represent the various spheres of Being from the gross body through the spirit.

This book is on the large side, is printed on very high quality paper and contains a lot of color plates as well as contextual information. It is a bargain at the price it is being sold and some of the text is written by Ken Wilber.

If you are not familiar with Ken Wilber's work, either Kosmic Consciousness or A Brief History of Everything would be a great place to get started. Either of these resources will help you to appreciate Grey's art in more depth and understand what he is trying to achieve.

the images of sacred body - energy currents are incredible! Nowhere else will you find this kind of anatomical imagery. This is an incredible book. Alex Grey is a genius!

5 out of 5 stars Sacred Mirrors.......2007-02-05

Alex Gray is amazing for having created pictures for the energy fields of the body as well as the body itself and the way it operates. This book is a wealth of knowledge that can be utilized to help heal yourself or use it to help teach for a wide spectrum of modalities.

3 out of 5 stars Why I'd like to sell mine back.......2007-08-19

I bought this copy again for nostalgia. I had it when I first got my first Thoth deck. I was 18. It was a long time ago. There were no other books short of AC, which I read but that is a huge undertaking. The Tarot cannot be grasped in isolation. You need Qabalah and Astrology to really "get it". The Mirror of the Soul is good if you want to skip all of that. But then what is the point?! After I got it again, the only reason I didn't send it back because it was only $10. I figured shipping would cost more than a $10 credit is worth. Compared to the Banzhaf (Keywords for the Crowley deck) and Duquette (Understanding the Crowley deck), it is wholly unnecessary. For those who want to do more than divination, or want to do divination on solid ground, read Duquette, read the Book of Thoth and Equinox (AC). Bhanzaf is a very useful little book to accompany simple readings while you integrate the cards into your mind-spirit. Duquette prepares you for AC. And only He can take you farther.

3 out of 5 stars trade paperback = quality ?.......2007-05-29

....Others have covered the content, in that regard...I will only say: if you don't mind "New Age" stuff (ie. each interpretation ends with 4, 1-3 sentence notes: an "Indication", a Question, a Suggestion, and an Affirmation); it can be good fun. I enjoy it... Lot's of interesting positive ideas...
....As regards the BOOK, the paper is cheap, and the illustrations are in black and white, many so fuzzy that important detail is lost. ( of course, this is not a problem if you have your deck out while reading). The text is about 1 page per card. This is an advantage for those who like quick results.
....At the end are 7 spreads (including a relationship spread for 2 people to do together). Also a 1 page glossary of commonly occurring symbols, and 1 on finding "your personal" card. The book starts with 7-11 pages of introductory material on the use of the tarot. 3 stars because of the cheapness of the publisher: Weiser Books

5 out of 5 stars Great companion to Tarot deck.......2007-02-06

The Angeles book is good but a bit too happy in its interpretations. This one is more real, less fluff.

5 out of 5 stars Good place to start.......2007-01-18

If you use the Thoth deck, this book is a good place to start and much more accessible than Crowley's writings. Some of the interpretations are too new agey and vague -- the book's emphasis is very much on interpreting the cards in terms of psychological and spiritual development and some of them start to sound too much the same-- but I find it especially helpful in its treatment of the court cards.

4 out of 5 stars Best all-around book for the Thoth deck.......2006-02-10

After purchasing the large size Thoth deck, I knew that I needed a solid book to refer to during readings. Trust me, I checked them all out. From the original Book of Thoth to numerous other attempts to explain the deck.
I can tell you this, Gerd Ziegler has come out with the perfect companion to the Thoth deck. In fact, I carry the deck and book around together as a set.
Anyone who has Crowley's deck will probably agree with me when I say you were most likely "drawn" to this deck. It appears to have very straight forward designs but the more you use the deck, the deeper it gets.
That's why I simply love this book. Since the Thoth deck is very psychological it can be a very "personal experience" to do a reading. In fact, I usually save the Thoth deck for my own readings due to it's inherent complexity.
But, Ziegler gives a great introduction on making "friends" with the cards. Understanding the underlying truths is of great importance. He points out the obvious and sublime with ease. From advice on learning the cards' meanings, to activities that help bring the cards to life, Ziegler not only gives you the symbolic insight but he also asks probing questions that if answered honestly, will lead to a deeper understanding and relationship with the cards.
This book is really all you need to get a deeper insight into the amazing cards Crowley designed. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to further "understand" the Thoth tarot.

5 out of 5 stars A little difficult to understand at times..........2002-10-04

But worth the time spent trying. This is a wonderful resource that enlightens one to the many modern echoes of these ancient voices.

When reading this book as a teen in college, I had a tough time understanding and thus appreciating the poetry and songs. Having passed 30, I have a much different appreciation.

The book's best feature is its focus on ALL the cultures of the ancient world. I don't think a single geographic area is left out. The benefit to this expansive look, besides multi-cultural accessibility, are the easily seen commonalities and relationships of varying goddess images & lore. This book gives one a totally different perspective on where our current culture came from.

5 out of 5 stars As important to us as the bible is to christians!!!.......2002-09-26

this is a beautufil gift that ms. stone has given the Goddess community and i for one will be forever grateful.this is not a history book. it is a holy book. the myth and poetry that ms. stone has birthed touches the soul.the subtitle of this book is "a treasury of goddess and heroine lore from around the world" and it truly is a treasury. the scope of the book is incredible. it brings is the stories of the well known goddesses and the stories of goddesses who we may never had heard of before.another reviewer says that ms. stone is not a good scholar. i am not sure why that person would have read this book. it is clear from the writing that the author is providing histories that are not found in your average history book. she is presenting an alternative. she offers the history that acomapanies each region section as possiblities. history is an art and not a science. if you are satisfied with the so-called "original sources" that were gathered by, translated by, edited by white christian men and believe that they are totally unbiased--then why buy this book. ... but if you are a person who understands that you don't know everything, this book is easy to love. it is not terribly outrageous, and the historical background it provides is just as valid as any other. ms. stone never presents them as the ultimate truth but rather offers us information that has been kept from us, because others found it unimportant.but this is ultimatly not a history book. it is a book of myth. it is beautifully written. if is full of reverence. it takes the goddesses seriously. it is powerful. and i can't recommend it more highly.

2 out of 5 stars long on social politics, short on scholarship.......2000-05-15

Merlin Stone, a good writer, but not such a good scholar I'm afraid. If one wants to feel good about goddesses and about women, by all means read this book. If one wants information about goddesses in specific or citations to other scholarship, don't look to this book. Interpretations can be amusing when one has read the primary sources and knows about the cultures she looks at to a deep degree. Much better for the layperson or someone looking for positive female strokes than for a student or scholar.

5 out of 5 stars This book should be passed from Mother to Daughter!.......1999-12-08

I checked this book out from the library twice. When I couldn't check it out the third time, I bought it! I have used it as a source of inspiration, by just opening it up at any point and reading. Becoming dear friends with the goddesses in this book, if I had to choose three favorite books, this would be one!

I have learned about those goddesses who aren't very popular, like the "Spider Woman" who weaves a web of destiny or Goddess Ma'at "The Eye of Heaven". The section on Ma'at is particularly beautiful and inspiring. There is an understanding of justice, not our twisted backward laws, but true justice in this passage that is not limited by time. In that passage I also came to understand what is meant by "a light heart." One of my favorite sections is about the Australian Lia, woman of the Goanna Tribe. She led the women out of their dull and unforgiving existence to a place of hope. I highly recommend this book! Rich with tales, history and culture that should be passed on from Mother to Daughter.

5 out of 5 stars one of my favourites.......2003-10-02

I've been reading a few books from this publisher and this has to be one of my favourites! In the first part of the book the authors go through each of the 7 chohans (sanskrit for "Lord") of the 7 rays of God. She takes us on a journey to visit these masters as we review with them their past lives, what they did and what kind of a person they were. I discovered which master i felt closest too and was able to attune with him better now that i feel closer to him. I can also receive assistance from him, the closer i am. Perhaps even better is the fact that i can see how they, the masters, who are also mystics and sages, have done it, and now i can walk in their footsteps. The last section of the book gives spiritual messages from each of the chohans to you. The book has a lot for you.

1 out of 5 stars questionable information.......2003-07-23

I LOVE spiritual books. I have tried to read this book twice and I can not get through it. Some of the material seems to be coming from the authors ego and not the Masters. There are great books on the Rays. Prelude to Ascension by Janet McClure or Alice Bailey. It is not easy for me to write something negative but I hope this helps someone on the path.

I read this book and found it to be an interesting one!!. I have been a devoted reader of Mrs. Prophet books, for they provide quality information and inspirating stories and valuable insight on ascended masters, karma, reincarnation. This book focus on the seven rays, spiritual energies we are meant to master (power, wisdom, love, purity, science, devotion and forgiveness). Thanks Mrs. Prophet, once again I am delighted.

This book explores the author's theosophy of how certain spiritual beings use crystals--diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, amethyst, etc. Explains how people can use crystals and "communicate" with the spiritual beings in everyday life.

Book Description

Tarot Mirrors is the third volume of Mary Greer's best selling Tarot Cycle, which began with Tarot for Your Self. In this volume she shows how to use the mirroring qualities of the Tarot to examine one's life and to create a doorway to other realms of possibility.

Tarot Mirrors incorporates the work of 19th century French Taroist, Papus, and Jane Roberts' channeled wisdom from Seth with Ms. Greer's own approach to Tarot as a tool for self-realization. The result is an entirely new synthesis of Tarot knowledge with powerful new layouts and processes for creating one's own reality.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The art of reading made accessible.......2002-10-26

"Tarot Mirrors" is the third book in Mary Greer's series on tarot reading. It is by far the most in-depth of the series. Like its two predecessors it is an invaluable tool for anyone wishing to develop a deeper understanding of the tarot. This is not a book that tells you card meanings and gives convoluted history to the supposedly ancient Celtic cross spread. The book is an exercise in self discovery. The book is also designed to deepen and expand one's ability as a reader. Rather than rely on rote memorization, the exercises and theories presented serve to give you a foundation to build your own theories on.

The book is roughly divided into two parts. The first section is on the art of interpretation, the second details a rather elaborate spread designed to expand the spiritual side of reading.

The first section involves various methods of reading cards. This process is almost universally ignored by other authors. Ability to ask basic questions of yourself or of the person you are reading for is key to providing the kind of in-depth reading most people desire. Yet this is the first and only book I have seen where how to phrase questions one is asking of the cards is given anything more than a sentence. Ms. Greer suggests that a reading is a process between two people much like therapy, questions lead to answers that in turn lead to new questions. The process is an active one, not passive.
Identifies your particular style and works to expand that way of thinking into reading the cards. The four methods of thinking/reading include analytic, psychic, therapeutic and magical. Each has its own special quirks and each works slightly differently in processing a reading.

The second portion of the book relates to what Ms. Greer calls `the star system' it is her reinterpretation of Eliphas Levi's thoughts on the Tarot. This is not a reading to be done lightly or quickly. I have used it to great success when dealing with deep rooted issues in my own life. Ms. Greer pulls off a small miracle by making a complex and obscure spread appear understandable and easy to use.

While out of print this book is certainly worth the effort to find. IT is an invaluable tool for anyone interested in Tarot.

    Book Description

Through an examination of caste in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Mexico, Hall of Mirrors explores the construction of hierarchy and difference in a Spanish colonial setting. Laura A. Lewis describes how the meanings attached to the categories of Spanish, Indian, black, mulatto, and mestizo were generated within that setting, as she shows how the cultural politics of caste produced a system of fluid and relational designations that simultaneously facilitated and undermined Spanish governance.

Using judicial records from a variety of colonial courts, Lewis highlights the ethnographic details of legal proceedings as she demonstrates how Indians, in particular, came to be the masters of witchcraft, a domain of power that drew on gendered and hegemonic caste distinctions to complicate the colonial hierarchy. She also reveals the ways in which blacks, mulattoes, and mestizos mediated between Spaniards and Indians, alternatively reinforcing Spanish authority and challenging it through alliances with Indians. Bringing to life colonial subjects as they testified about their experiences, Hall of Mirrors discloses a series of contradictions that complicate easy distinctions between subalterns and elites, resistance and power.

    • Contains the complete series of Sacred Mirrors paintings plus two additional transformative images

    • Includes guided meditations, reflections, and poetry by Alex Grey

    • By the author of Transfigurations (25,000 sold) and Sacred Mirrors (90,000 sold)

The Sacred Mirrors are a journey through our physical, socio-political, and spiritual anatomy. Sacred Mirrors Cards contains twenty-three meditation cards featuring reproductions of all twenty-one of Alex Grey’s Sacred Mirrors paintings plus two additional transformative images: Oversoul and The Angel. Grey’s visionary poetry on the back of each card leads the meditator through contemplation of the image on the front of the card, culminating in a one-word theme for reflection. The twenty-three cards in this boxed set lead the viewer through the process of theosis--that is, coming closer to God--through contemplation of iconic archetypes and seeing oneself, each other, and the world as a reflection of the divine. The original 46” x 84” Sacred Mirrors paintings featured in the Sacred Mirrors Cards are on display at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York City.

    4 out of 5 stars Interesting...DEFINATELY.......2007-08-14

Alex Grey's art has interested me for quite some time. Wasn't really sure what I was buying but I figured "What the heck, why not?" If you like the art, and want some explanation behind it, these cards are for you. Each card has a "Poem", per say, on the back of it. It's a tour through the spiritual anatomy. I would recommend these to anyone interested in the chakras, your spirit, or just for curiosity. AND if you are a TOOL fan, check these out. A lot of albums have Alex Grey's art on them. If you like Tool, you've got to love Alex Grey.

    1 out of 5 stars Not what I expected.......2007-02-07

I thought these cards would be more inspirational and have messages worth pondering. The poetry is second-rate, at best. It is not really poetry at all, but rather ramblings and explanations of what the art is supposed to be. Poetry is supposed to speak to your five senses, not sit flat and hard to read. The art on some cards is exceptional, but on other cards, it looks like the pictures in my anatomy textbook. I'm very disappointed in these cards, and I really feel as if I wasted my money.

3 out of 5 stars For Fans of Alex Grey.......2006-10-21

"The Sacred Mirrors are a journey through our physical, socio-political, and spiritual anatomy." - Alex Grey

Arguably best known for his "X-ray" paintings, transcendental artist Alex Grey melds the anatomically correct with the visionary in the Sacred Mirrors Cards. The twenty-three cards in this boxed set are intended to lead viewers through the process of theosis. That is, we may draw closer to God by contemplating the iconic archetypes portrayed on the cards and by seeing others, the world and ourselves as reflections of the Divine.

Intending to remind us of the pure wonder that can accompany our Earth journey, Grey says, "My life is committed to making artwork that wakes people up to the miracle of Life". From skeleton to viscera, nerves to auric fields, Spirit infuses the "mundane" mechanics of the body as surely as the magnificent emanation of love and community.

At 8 ¼ X 4 ¾ inches, the Sacred Mirrors Cards are quite large, depicting colorful imagery on one side and poetic meditations on the other. For example, on the back of the card depicting the lymphatic system, Grey writes:

    "Lymph, holy water of life,
    Bathing every cell
    With nutritional healing plasma.
    Mysterious cleansing cousin
    Of the cardiovascular.
    Nodes that swell when inflamed,
Pick up the pieces of the circulatory system.
Take away and destroy invading predators.
Purify, recycle and regenerate white blood cells,
    Lymphocytes, my defending militia.
    Immunize me.
Keep me safely healthy and whole,
    My guardians of the realm.
    On a micro-level border patrol
Thou are the decided of what is and is not me."

Six of the twenty-three cards show nude males and females from Caucasian, Asian, and African ancestry. The poetry is basically the same on all six, except towards the end where Grey offers a comment about the specific image.

My favorite image from the Sacred Mirrors Cards is of Sophia, where all seeing, all knowing eyes bejewel her pink etheric gown. The Earth lies where her heart would be, doubling as the "brain" for a gestating baby. A luminescent halo encircles futuristic glyphs, while her third eye is wide open in a penetrating stare. The only thing that mars this otherwise glorious painting (in my opinion), is the disturbing image of Kali copulating with a reclining male (soon to be dead by her knife?). On the other side is baby suckling at a woman's breast, so I get the point of life and death being on the same continuum but...

The Sacred Mirrors Cards are indeed unusual, and would likely be enjoyed by fans of both Alex Grey and Ken Wilber. However, I find some of the imagery a bit gruesome and Grey's sentiments a bit "top heavy"--an analytical, rational approach to spirituality. This is, of course, a legitimate portrayal and path to Spirit, for All That Is does indeed lie within muscle, bone, and blood--the latter being our very (earthly) life force.

But, alas, contemplating organs and guts aren't my particular cup of tea. And, to be fair, that doesn't comprise *all* of the images in this set of cards. For example, the Spiritual Energy System is an arresting portrayal of the chakra system "sprouting jets of psycho gism". A European-looking Jesus makes an appearance, as does a thousand armed, eleven-headed Buddhist deity.

"Is it just me?" I wondered. I appreciate that the human body is a magnificent machine--a vehicle for spirit to be appreciated--but I didn't feel particularly inspired. So I asked my husband, who enjoys some of Grey's art (especially Oversoul), to give me his impression of the Sacred Mirrors Cards. He expressed the same sentiments that I had felt, so it wasn't "just me" after all. We both agreed, however, that some of the poetry conveyed brilliant insights into the human body and its connection to the Infinite.

So if you love Grey's art and vision--and books like Transfigurations--then you'll likely enjoy this unusual meditative offering.

    4 out of 5 stars Living Jewels.......2000-05-24

In this book, Vicki Wall describes the development of the Aura Soma system of healing, which employs bottles conttaining an oil/water combination in various colors. They incorporate plant extracts, essential oils, and the energies of precious and semiprecious stones, thereby combining elements of several ancient healing systems. Wall was trained in a traditional English pharmacy where all products were made on the premises, then became a podiatrist, and after serious medical problems rendered her blind, began to create the colored bottles (oiginally she called them "balance oils"; they have since been renamed "equilibrium oils"). At first she believed them to be for cosmetic purposes only, but experience taught her that they had more far-reaching effects. Wall tells of the creation ("birth") of the bottles and their applications, as well as revealing her own notions about life and its purpose. Aura-Soma has developed into an entire system of healing which has a strong following in Germany as well as England. This book is a worthwhile reference for anyone interested in alternative healing methods, color theory, or "new age" phenomena. The prose style is distinctly British. It is Wall who called the bottles (now over 100 combinations in existence) "living jewels."

    Book Description

While the notion that “happiness can found within oneself” has recently become popular, Buddhism has taught for thousands of years that every person is a Buddha, or enlightened being, and has the potential for true and lasting happiness. Through real-life examples, the authors explain how adopting this outlook has positive effects on one’s health, relationships, and career, and gives new insights into world environmental concerns, peace issues, and other major social problems.

This is the first book I have read on Buddhism. The book is very informative. There are many, many quotes from SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. If I did not know there were other forms of Nichiren Buddhism I would have thought that Soka Gakkai was it.

This book is easy to digest and is just slightly over 200 pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in getting a general view of Nichiren Buddhism.

5 out of 5 stars Find your Buddhahood.......2007-07-21

This is a really good book about the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin. Well put together and great reading.

5 out of 5 stars Great Intro to Buddhism.......2007-06-14

This is an easy reading book and you can start reading at any chapter to understand basic Buddhist concepts that can apply in anyone's daily life. Since reading this book, I became a member of Soka Gakkai International and whenever someone has a question about my practice, I refer them to this book.

5 out of 5 stars You Will Learn So Much From This Book.......2007-04-03

The overall point of this book is that we are all Buddhas, possessing the the ability to perceive life as it truly is, not as the delusion most of us see; and that true happiness can only come from within. This book wakes us up and tells us we have to take responsiblility for our own lives, but empowers us in the process by teaching we are the only ones who can do that for ourselves. Nothing and no one can do it for us. Thought provoking and enlightening.

5 out of 5 stars This is a Wonderful Book everyone should read........2007-03-27

I read this book, and it was very helpful to me in many ways. I have heard that the proof reader, not a Buddhist himself, read the book, applied the techniques to his cancer and cured it. All from reading and applying the strategy behind it.
This book could be a life saver....it was to me.
