Book Description
Readers captivated by Twilight and New Moon will eagerly devour Eclipse, the much anticipated third book in Stephenie Meyer's riveting vampire love saga. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob --- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?
Customer Reviews:
Best of the series.......2007-10-03
I think that Eclipse is the best in the Twilight series. To me, Twilight dragged in the beginning and it took me a little while to get into it. New Moon was depressing most of the way through; I felt compelled to finish it just so that I could get to Eclipse. Eclipse peaked my interest from the first page to the last. I think Meyer is becoming a better writer. There is just something about these books that draws me in. With that said, I am a thirty something mom who thinks that the love story between Edward and Bella might be a little too mature for preteens and young teenagers. If you are a parent wondering if this is a book that you want your child to read, read chapter 20 yourself first and then decide.
Amazing!!!!! =) Yet AGAIN!.......2007-10-03
Ilyana has done an amazing job once again! Beautifully read. And what an outstanding book!!! I had already read Eclipse when it first came out. (one sitting!!!) Stephenie is an enthralling writer. The emotion that comes from each character draws you in and you begin to think of them as real people. (don't we all wish! lol) I can not wait till the next book comes out. And chances are I''ll be getting it on CD as well! As with everything Stephenie writes, reading/hearing it once is never enough!
Great progression.......2007-10-02
I really was happy with the progression of the books. I also felt that the writing and the continuity of the story improved with each book. It was clear that this story was well thought out, and developed. I am now hooked and excited for the next book! Anyone who loves Vampire novels, this is a good series to pick up. Fun characters and a new way of looking at the Vampire lifestyle.
Wow!.......2007-10-02
Just as with the first books, I'm not a teen and I love these books. It's helped me see my wonderful husband in a different light and recognize the qualities I fell in love with. This is a great book for anyone! I've even got my husband starting them.
I don't read the books for Jacob.......2007-10-01
I'm thinking of giving of this series because as much as I love a good triangle this book was just ridiculous. Since when is Jacob, the good natured friend, Bella's true soul mate? And since when is he so creepy and cocky about the whole thing? Edward needs to dump Bella and then maybe the writing can get back on track. I thought this story was supposed to be about Bella and Edward? I don't care about Jacob and now fans will always be thinking that Bella made the wrong choice. Very disappointed.

Book Description
"I have no wish to play the pontificating fool, pretending that I've suddenly come up with the answers to all life's questions. Quite that contrary, I began this book as an exploration, an exercise in self-questing. In other words, I wanted to find out, as I looked back at a long and complicated life, with many twists and turns, how well I've done at measuring up to the values I myself have set."
âSidney Poitier
In this luminous memoir, a true American icon looks back on his celebrated life and career. His body of work is arguably the most morally significant in cinematic history, and the power and influence of that work are indicative of the character of the man behind the many storied roles. Sidney Poitier here explores these elements of character and personal values to take his own measureâas a man, as a husband and a father, and as an actor.
Poitier credits his parents and his childhood on tiny Cat Island in the Bahamas for equipping him with the unflinching sense of right and wrong and of self-worth that he has never surrendered and that have dramatically shaped his world. "In the kind of place where I grew up," recalls Poitier, "what's coming at you is the sound of the sea and the smell of the wind and momma's voice and the voice of your dad and the craziness of your brothers and sisters...and that's it." Without television, radio, and material distractions to obscure what matters most, he could enjoy the simple things, endure the long commitments, and find true meaning in his life.
Poitier was uncompromising as he pursued a personal and public life that would honor his upbringing and the invaluable legacy of his parents. Just a few years after his introduction to indoor plumbing and the automobile, Poitier broke racial barrier after racial barrier to launch a pioneering acting career. Committed to the notion that what one does for a living articulates to who one is, Poitier played only forceful and affecting characters who said something positive, useful, and lasting about the human condition.
Here is Poitier's own introspective look at what has informed his performances and his life. Poitier explores the nature of sacrifice and commitment, price and humility, rage and forgiveness, and paying the price for artistic integrity. What emerges is a picture of a man in the face of limitsâhis own and the world's. A triumph of the spirit, The Measure of a Man captures the essential Poitier.

****LOVED IT****.......2007-09-24
Kept me interested...I really enjoyed this book...I couldn't put the book down until I finished reading it!!!!
MEASURE OF A MAN does not measure up.......2007-09-21
Wow, a book about Sidney Poitier. An outstanding actor with a book that just does not give him true justice. The reading tends to be dry and lacks substance. His life struggles could have been the story of any man or woman, black or white. The writing and editing are weak in some sections.
You should rent or buy one of Poitier's movies instead. His movie roles show his true skills.
SPIRITUAL "Of, Relating to, Consisting of, or Affecting the Spirit" MERRIAM-WEBSTER.......2007-08-30
I've always been smitten with Poitier's voice--his diction and control on film, the flow of his words as they travel in and around ideas during interviews--so I read THE MEASURE OF A MAN with an ear for his voice. I wondered, Is it translatable to print? It is, but that means allowing Poitier's thoughts to meander until they find their point, and that his thoughts are less formulated (or formal) and more "in his own words," than they might be if they were written by a biographer. (I read just enough "You know?"s "You hear me when I tell you?"s and "You follow?"s to feel like he was talking to me, but not too many to be annoyed.) I read to imagine what it might be like to have a conversation with Poitier. The book reinforced what I already knew--I'd be as intimidated as heck--but it also gave me the courage to think I'd be able to speak my mind.
As an editor, I read Poitier's book because I wanted to know how he defines a "spiritual" autobiography. Is it a I-Was-A-Sinner-But-I-Found-Jesus-And-Now-I'm-Saved chronology? Is it about how Christianity or another faith influenced his life? Neither. Poitier examines the people, events, circumstances, beliefs, and so on, which have related to, consisted of, or affected his "spirit," and, in doing so, he writes about childhood experiences in the Bahamas, his changing perceptions of his parents, how he adapts to living in the United States, his approach to acting and filmmaking, and his attitude toward fatherhood. He also shares a debate a friend and he had about the Basic Truth of Nature, a debate worth every second of reading it takes to get to.
Is THE MEASURE OF A MAN going to satisfy readers interested only in Poitier's film career? No, but I urge them to read it anyway, if for no other reason than to find out how his "spirit" influenced the films he starred in.
Books.......2007-08-21
I purchased this book for my daughter and she loved it!
She is a teacher and plans to teach this story in her English class fall 2007.
A great story with a great moral.
Never cared for the man, but his book is great........2007-08-12
I have my preferences as to actors. Poitier was never in a prominent standing. But, then neither were a few others; like John Wayne. Not saying they both weren't good actors, just two of the many I didn't watch much.
Having said that, I find Mr. Poitier's book an interesting read. I feel it was well worth the money.

He keeps your attention and gives you great calls to action to get you doing something with what you are reading. I have read many of his books and this is a great quick read to get you going in making relationships work better for you. After you read this one, go and get Richard Abraham's book MR. Excellent book on networking. One of the very few that will talk about giving before receiving; more than a networking book it's a book that'll teach you to build long lasting friendships. These will eventually help you move ahead in life.
Great Little Black Handbook of Connections.......2007-09-05
Jeffrey Gitomer is a professional at life. He provided many great insights into connecting and networking through a collection of lists of his own "proverbs" and altruisms. I doubt anyone can read this all at once; but the book is great when you read a few lists until you find something that really strikes you, and then practice it for a few weeks before going back to this great reference work. Very good!

Jeffrey Gitomer does a really good job in instructing how to get the most out of connections- and how to get started.

Book Description
Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.
But fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, he's found by a miracle, and the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him.
Customer Reviews:
My favorite JR book yet!!!!.......2007-10-02
I loved this book!!!! Butch is my all time favorite character (so far), I knew he would end up with Marissa. But the dynamics and intimacy between Butch and V was awesome, great, fantastic. I loved the way JR wrote the story and created that intimacy between the two guys without it being overtly sexual. I am so glad Marissa finally grew a back bone and stood up to her brother. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I liked it.......2007-09-30
I liked this book. Actually I have enjoyed all of the BDB books by JR Ward (1-4).
NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHERS.......2007-09-25
THIS BOOK SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT V AND BUTCH. THEY HAD THE BEST RELATIONSHIP. I WAS READING HOPING TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THEM. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BUTCH AND MARISSA DID NOT DO MUCH FOR ME. HAVING SAID THAT, I LIKED THE BOOK, CAN'T WAIT TO READ ABOUT V LOVE HIM
Book 4 of The Black Dagger Brotherhood Depicts a Soulful Bond Between Brothers & Intense Romance Between the Leading Couple........2007-09-21
Black Dagger Brotherhood Series (Definitely Read Them In Order!):
Dark Lover
Lover Eternal
Lover Awakened
Lover Revealed
Lover Unbound
If you have not been reading this series, be sure to start with the first book and follow the series from there. By the time you reach book 4, you've come to know all of the characters well. Each character has a distinct personality that stays the same from book to book. J.R. Ward keeps them consistent, so you are always glad to be reunited with "the guys". The continuing story is terrific. The bonds between the characters get deeper with each book.
In Book 4, "Lover Revealed", our hero is Butch. He's a man with a big heart, who will do anything to help out a friend. Because he is human, the brothers are very protective of his life. Butch loves his buddies, but he feels he is useless in their world. As an ex- cop, Butch needs to be in the battle. He has been in love with a vampire female, Marissa, for months. With his heart broken over her, Butch feels he has nothing to lose if he is killed.
While attempting to save civilians from enemy slayers, Butch is captured, taken prisoner, tortured, and left for dead. His roommate and best friend, "Vishous", is the only one with the means to find him. The evil enemies have put a poison in Butch's body. Vishous will use his gifts to heal Butch, and he will do all he can to reunite Butch with Marissa. Fierce loyalty and trust between Butch and Vishous make it possible for Butch's dreams to come true. However, the means for making those dreams happen could also cause Butch's death.
Marissa has been cast out by her family. With no place to go, The Brotherhood offers her shelter. When the love between Marissa and Butch intensifies, she begs him not to take part in the war with the brothers' enemies. Butch is devastated. He has to choose between the woman he loves, and the only true family he has ever had. His bond with Marissa is soul- deep, but his love for his brothers and his chance to make a real future for himself are worth any price.
Keeping with the trend of this series, "Lover Revealed" is exquisitely romantic. The love scenes are intense, and the ties between the leading couple are binding. The brothers are loyal to each other, and to Butch, without fail.
Ward writes her characters with personalities that are funny, direct, realistic, and moving. They seem like the kind of men you could meet in everyday life. They pick on each other in good natured teasing, as real brothers tend to, and they back one another as real brothers would. I genuinely like these guys. That makes the books addicting.
Also in this edition:
John's story is continued. Vishous's character plays a major role, preparing readers for his story in the next edition. Mr X is back, but he has a new and surprising scheme.
Loved this book!.......2007-09-20
I wasn't crazy about having a book about Butch, but it's so central to the whole BDB series that I ended up loving it. My favorite part is the close relationship between Butch and V, and am dying for V's story to come out next week!

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Definately a Keeper!!!! One of my Absolute Favorites!.......2007-09-20
I have three words for you.....OH. MY. GOD!!!!!!I could not turn the pages fast enough. What an amazing series...amazing story....amazing book! I highly recommend this for anyone who likes Kenyon or Knight the writing and character development in this is a step above. If your thinking twice about buying this series, just buy it, you won't be disappointed.
AMAZING!!!.......2007-09-16
This is one of my all time favorite romance novels. Before meeting the Black Dagger Brotherhood, I had absolutely no interest in paranormal romance. I'd always seen the characters in other books of this genre as being creepy, to say the least. My sister forced me to read this book while on vacation.
WoW!! J D Ward's protagonists are so well-written, so engaging and have such gut-wrenching appeal, I was hooked after chapter 2. She has created a completely unique vampire culture - complete with language (each book has a "glossary of terms"), social traditions and even anatomical/biochemical details unique to her brand of vampire.
If you have never been a fan of this genre...please give this book and the others in the series a try. You will NOT regret it!!
BEST in paranormal romance.......2007-09-13
J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series knocks everything else in the paranormal romance subgenre out of the water. Her characters are, hands down, the most rounded, most complex, most magnetic out there. Ward is concise and well-written where Sherrilyn Kenyon rambles and falters. Her plotline is amazingly intricate, original, and well-executed. Tales of the brothers are always fun and funny, easy to fall into. Where Angela Knight's style can be too technical and too slow, not quite self-confident enough, J.R. Ward's books are easy to read and fast-paced, giving you plenty without giving you too much. Even Kresley Cole, my second-favorite author, doesn't do the world-building and character exploration J.R. Ward does. The one down spot, for me anyway, is the lessers. I have trouble making myself read those parts, but then again, I can at times be a lazyish reader who won't deviate from the main characters' storyline. Overall, I'd give this an A+.
Oh heck yeah!.......2007-09-11
Great series - totally worthy of my time and money. Absolutely could not put them down.
THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!!!.......2007-09-11
This book is one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life! It is a book for those people who love vampires and the romances they become entwined in. This book was so amazing that I bought the second book, third book, fourth book, pre-ordered the fifth book, and have a count-down untill the sixth book. This book is not about the traditional vampire. They don't need to feed off humans to live, they feed off their own speices. It is written in third person so everyones point of view is expressed. There is some adult content and a little violence but the story line is so amazing that I couldn't put it down!! I came across this book by accident, but I am sure glad I did! I would happily suggest this book to anyone!

Customer Reviews:
Emotional Vampire Romance - interesting combo..........2007-09-23
I have read several of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels and have really enjoyed them all. I read this one out of order and so I knew Mary and Rhage would, of course, end up together, but I couldn't figure out how it was going to work out. I love that in a book - I can know the ending as long as I don't know the path we're going to take to get there.
I enjoyed the plot and the excitment of this novel as well as this series. It does help to read the books in order as there is a continuation of plot from one book to the next, but Ward does a pretty good job of explaining things in each book so you don't HAVE to.
All in all, a great book.
I LOVE JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood!!.......2007-09-20
This is my favorite of the four books to date, about Rhage and Mary. I love how Ward portrays the brothers as both warriors but also as men with their own strengths and weaknesses. The series is absolutely terrific, and I've read and reread these books all summer! They definitely need to be read in order, though. Can't wait for the new one!
Incredibly addictive.......2007-09-19
This is the second book in J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, and though I've only read this book and the first "Dark Lover" and I can easily say these are the most addictive adult vampire romance series I've read. J.R. Ward creates her own vampire legends, with vampire royalty, vampire civilians, human civilians and "Lessers"--humans that have been changed into vampire slayers by the Omega. There are beautiful love scenes, very scary villains, graphic fight scenes with interesting futuristic technology, and excellent plot and pacing.
"Lover Eternal" I think is even better than the first "Dark Lover" (which was very good btw), in that the plot is more emotional, heart wrenching, exciting, and we get to know the brotherhood better. J.R. was able to balance Mary and Rhage's tale along with John's story and allude to the next book with Bella and Zhadist. Can't wait to read the next book!!!
J.R. Ward Had Me Ensnared From Start to Finish. This Second Book in the Series is Even Better Than the First!.......2007-09-16
The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series:
Dark Lover
Lover Eternal
Lover Awakened
Lover Revealed
Lover Unbound
I'm so into this series. The first book had me hooked. The second has me enthralled. I'm behind on my laundry and sleep because I can't put these books down once I start them. The characters are incredible. Brotherhood means more than blood to these vampires. They would walk through fire for each other and for their women. When one of them is suffering, the rest are beside themselves. Pain for one, is pain for all. When fantasy is written well enough to feel real and personal while I'm reading it, my imagination is very happily swept away.
In Lover Eternal, our hero is Rhage. He is cursed with a beast in his body. If he loses his temper, or feels his loved ones are threatened, the beast breaks out and takes over. The dragon creature is so deadly, even his brothers run for cover. Rhage lives in constant fear that the beast will kill the people he loves.
Mary is living with a beast in her body as well. Leukemia nearly killed her before. Now the disease has returned. When a beautiful man becomes interested in her, she finds it hard to believe he would want her. Rhage wants Mary, and he won't be swayed. However, when it becomes clear that his beast wants Mary too, he fears that he has no choice but to stay away from her.
The Brothers continue their fight against the Lesser Society. (Vampire Slayers) When Rhage's enemies see Mary with him, he knows they will come after her. He is willing to endure any punishment for breaking the rules against bringing humans into the castle he shares with his brothers. It is the only way to keep her safe from the lessers.
Mary's pride won't allow her to lean on Rhage as she fights the Cancer in her blood. Rhage is finding it harder and harder to control his beast around Mary. In spite of the many odds against them, Rhage and Mary develop a bond that is unbreakable. No beast, disease, or slayer can come between them. When Mary's sickness is coming to a deadly impasse, Rhage will offer any sacrifice in exchange for her life. When Rhage's beast becomes more demanding, Mary learns to love it as much as she does Rhage.
Awesome.......2007-09-14
At first I didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as the first book. Boy was I wrong. By the end of the book I was floored. This book had suspense, action, humor, hot romance and even made me cry. I loved it. I finished the book in one day. I just couldn't put it down. I can't wait to start #3. I know the series go to #6 (#5 & #6 have to be pre-ordered) but I sure hope J.R. Ward doesn't stop, I have fallen in love with the Brand of Brothers.

Great Gift for Poker Lover.......2007-09-20
I got this for my husband and he hasn't stopped reading it. He will only pause to tell me something he thinks I might want to hear. 8-) I'm not a poker person, but with all the Poker on TV that I've seen (because of my husband) and listening to him endlessly talk about it, I think if these books have kept his attention the way they have, they must be good.
I don't know if that helps you but knowing my hubby, anything that pulls him away from playing poker must be good.
they look great, fun and easy to read.......2007-09-18
As I said, this set looks great on my "poker books shelf" :) But aside that, it's a great read. Even the black book with many interesting details about poker. Green book is well written but my favorite is the blue book. It was so valuable to me to have a free ride threw profesional's poker mind. Highly recommend it.
Good Easy Reading.......2007-09-06
Have read 1st two books, and took a 3rd & 5th in tournments, can't wait to finish last book!!
Great poker books!.......2007-07-24
I have read 15-20 poker booksa and these are among the best I have read in a long time. Phil's dedication to the game and his committment to keep learning is well communicated in an easy to read style. It keeps you entertained and makes you feel ready to be more aggressive with a better understanding of what winning poker is about.
EXCELLENT.......2007-05-07
EXCELLENT trio of books for novice to expert. Phil does a great job of explaining as well as challanging you to think. your game will definately improve after this book. Put it together with Dan Harringtons 3 books and you can't find a better poker combo period. 2 contrasting style of players but overall the same message. Just a great trio of books.

Even within the vampire brotherhood, Zsadist is feared. Still bearing the scars from a tortured past, he is renowned for his unquenchable fury. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion-until he rescues a beautiful female from the evil Lessening Society.
Customer Reviews:
The best book of the series.......2007-09-29
I read all the BDB books (5 so far), and this is still for me the best one. Zsadist will always be my favorite vampire! Hope JR Ward continues to write books of this excellent quality.
My perfect vampire tale.......2007-09-27
AWESOME!!! The best of the first three!!! I absolutely loved Bella and Zsadists' story!!! Having read book one (Dark Lover) and book two (Lover Eternal) I was already addicted to the series. As amazing as the first two books were, this tale struck a chord in me, it's about facing terrible personal demons and finding a way to heal, something we've all been through. This was the tightest page turner of the three, the books just keep getting better and better. This had the most plot, but was crafted in such away that I never wanted to put the book down, even after my mind was numb from reading. And Zsadist and Bella are two unforgettable characters, their story is touching, deep, emotional. I was so sad when I got to the last page, but I've got more of the series to read, and re-read again!
OH MY GOD.......2007-09-25
OH MY GOD. LOVED ZSADIST. I PURCHASED THESE BOOKS ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE ALREADY READ THEM TWICE (Z'S BOOK 3 TIMES) SHE IS THE BEST WRITER I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO READ. I CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK 5
Great Series!.......2007-09-24
I didn't like this book as much as #2 but I still liked it enough to give it a 5 star rating. I love the series. I have read books 1 - 2 at least twice already. I am on a reading marathon trying to catch up so that when LU comes out tom. (book #5), I'll be up to speed with everyone else that follows the series.
Anway, after reading this book, you come away liking Z more. The book also preps readers for Phury's story. Can't wait for that one and I'm already eagerly waiting for Tohr's return. I highly recommend the series but would suggest readers start with book 1 to better appreciate the plots and characters.
Can't get enough of Ward's BDB series!.......2007-09-20
This is the third book of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, telling the story of Bella and Zsadist. I absolutely love this series and am actually rereading the whole thing yet again to be ready for the next book in the series due at the end of Sept. I highly recoommend this book, although I must admit Lover Awakened wasn't my favorite of the four available to date. However, I came away liking Zhadist a whole lot better, and this story had to be told before Ward can give us Phury's story, which I'm dying for!

Book Description
We just asked the movie stars how they did it. What did they use? How often? Where did they get it? How can we do it, too? And they told us. We couldn't believe it either.
Kym Douglas, host of the upcoming Lifetime makeover show Queen and the image consultant on The View, and celebrity journalist Cindy Pearlman had always wanted to know how the A-list stars looked so, well, A-list. It turns out that even the most carefully guarded stars were more than happy to dish. Collected here, in their own words, celebrities and their beauty gurus reveal their tricks of the trade.
How do they reduce puffiness, lose five pounds in a week, put shine in their hair, buff their skin, and vacuum their pores without spending a fortune? Find out from Jennifer Aniston, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lindsay Lohan, Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Hurley, Charlize Theron, and many, many more!
Kym Douglas is the creator and host of the upcoming Lifetime Television makeover show, Queen, airing in October and the image consultant on The View. She appears regularly on Soap Talk, Good Day Live, Before & After'noon, and Your Weekend with Jim Brickman.

The Black Book of Hollywood Beauty Secrets.......2007-09-16
Not only was the book helpful with the beauty secrets, but I loved the sense of humour. I look forward to the next book by these authors.
Good for newbies to makeup/skincare/haircare.......2007-07-30
If you've ever read any beauty/fashion magazines on any type of a regular basis, spoken in friend circles about beauty tricks, or are over 13 and have been wearing makeup for a few years, etc. then you already know all of this. Puffy eyes: cucumber or potato slices, chilled spoons, tea bags Zits: dab of toothpaste or tea tree oil Shiny, build-up free hair: apple cider vinegar rinse
Unless you're a newbie to the beauty world or like the 40-something year old woman I met that had no idea that clear mascara can be used to groom brows and that the tanning beds were making her liver spots worse, then save your money.
no new information in my opinion.......2007-07-28
I thought this book would be entertaining with a lot of tips and tricks for making beauty fun and easy. I love makeup and going on the occassional splurge at Sephora. But I can also be happy wandering the makeup/skin care aisles of Target.
When this book is not spitting out designer labels left and right, they really don't have super secrets. Most is stuff you can find online about home treatments that you can mix together yourself. It also asked a lot of "professionals" and beauty gurus their "must haves" and what would they buy if they ONLY had 100 dollars. These people are spoiled brats in my opinion. 100 bucks could buy a heck of a lot of beauty stuff. One woman's answer when asked what she would do if she only had the 100 dollars was "first, I would cry...". This really just put the stamp of stupidity on this book. Don't waste your money!
very informative.......2007-07-08
very interesteing book, so many secrets and the ones i tried do really work-highly recommend!
Big on hype, long on snark, short on quality...save your $$.......2007-06-21
I made the mistake of actually purchasing this book. I would've taken it back if I hadn't already thrown away the receipt, that is how BAD this book is! True beauty has nothing to do with making uncharitable and jealous comments, and it seems like every sentence in this book is prefaced with "MEOW!" I do not like this current trend toward Us Magazine style cattiness and rudeness in Hollywood gossip circles, and it seems to have permeated this book something fierce. What good is attaining outer beauty if the seemingly beautiful person is unattractively rude and has caustic, mean-spirited and sarcastic stuff constantly running out of her mouth?
Another thing I found offensive about this book? The hypocrisy of one of the authors. If you look at the picture in the back of the book, you'll notice that Cindy Pearlman, is considerably fat...in fact, you could say she is OBESE...yet throughout the book she and her "new best friend" aka co-writer Kym Douglas make all sorts of hurtful cracks about large sized women. What's with all the self loathing Cindy? Still trying to fit in with the 'preps' 20 or more years after graduating high school? Still getting ready for that prom you apparently never attended? Sad...and pathetic. Get over it already.
As for the so-called beauty "secrets", do these authors think we were born yesterday? I don't buy most of that mess in this book for a New York minute! Do you honestly expect us to believe those actresses are too cheap to buy real beauty products? Please. Plus I am NOT interested in learning any of beauty secrets who women who are in the sex industry, either. Why are they glorifying strippers and pole dancers in this book? Disgusting.
As for their assessment that men are only interested in women who look like those on the "A" list...this is simply not so. How do I know? Well, I've been to Hollywood, Beverly Hills AND Malibu, so I can tell you by personal experience the STRAIGHT men there appreciate all sorts of beauty in women...and they are equally as likely to flirt with a woman with meat on her bones as he is the tall blonde size "0" waifs running around with scary Botox smiles! The true beauty "secret?" CONFIDENCE IN ONESELF...which doesn't cost one red cent!!!
Trust me, in the end, you're better off taking that money you would've spent on books of this ilk and putting it toward a fab vacation to California and really living it up, rather than living vicariously through this flimsy book with bogus beauty "secrets" you can find on any beauty website. I'm not even going to give this book to charity...it's just going directly into file 13.

Great Prayers For Ecumenical Services.......2007-06-02
I have found this book to be of great value in my Ecumenical relations with other faiths.
I have also found for myself a deep spiritual renewal in reading this book.
I recommend this Book of Common Prayer to all that value the wisdom within other faiths.
Very Good!.......2007-05-14
Well, I can't rate the BCP anything but positive. My only concern was I failed to read the size of the book and it was smaller then I would have liked, the pages are thin, but at the same time feel very "strong." It has the Daily Office and the complete Psalter. If only I had read the dimensions, I am sure I would have opted for a larger addition. If you don't have problems with smaller print, then by all means purchase this copy, you can't be the price. Also the binding it very good, the book while small, lays flat, whch is a really nice in a hardcover book of this size.
Review of BCP.......2007-03-25
I was pleased with this book, as well as for the speed of delivery. Thanks.

This book was so good, I used it in my wedding!
Book of Uncommon prayer.......2007-03-23
A wonderful size to tuck in a backpack or purse, I love the language of the liturgy and the realm of spiritual union they create between the reader and God. Nicely bound, delicate paper.
